Have given up a total of two hundred and seventy
five point six yards per game, number one, and the
margin above every other team is substantial. The next best
team in total defense is over twenty yards more giving

reason this defense is geling. Right now, I have two names,

They have two cornerstone pieces in the secondary and that's

the rookies. I mean, that's that's wild, the amount of
production they've had in their first Yeah.

And especially after the bye week and Cooper Degene came in.

Howie finally figuring out how to draft because for years,
when we're looking for these cornerstone pieces and we're not
getting them, then we have to go to the open

market and buy him. You can't put a championship team
together unless you have a compliment of both rookies and
those four and five year rookie contracts that allow you
to go spend thirty nine million dollars on Saquon Barkley
and get that final piece of the puzzle. But like

Philadelphia Eagles defense all season, once.

on one side, but you had Isazel Jenkins on the other,
and that's where quarterback was throwing. I don't see any
weaknesses on this defense at all.

the fourth cornerback. If they really have to go any deeper,
that's when Avonte Maddox has to get on the field,

The secondary, including safety, has been really good. Defensive line,
I think the defensive ends have been awesome. Linebackers have
been great. Like every level is playing at a very
high level. I mean, I don't see much.

I don't see why did when Reed Blanket Ship went
out a couple of weeks ago with a concussion, why
was Sidney Brown not in the game. I think he's
been hurt too.

think like an extended injury, but it's just a few

on the depth chart. He's dead. Yeah, yeah, he just

Every time he's on the field, there's something he's getting
burned or they're targeting him. He is, he's a it's
a problem when he's on the field.

held them right there, didn't get seven.

I was I was really shocked. And it all started
from then. You know, it's progressing. This defense is on fire.

here we go. Uh okay, defense. We just talked about.
What about the offense? You ask, Eagles are six in
total offense with an average of three hundred and seventy
three point two yards per game and forty four offensive touchdowns.
Number one in rushing with one hundred and eighty six
point two average yards per game at twenty six touchdowns.

Only Buffalo has more.

Number one in time of possession with an average of
thirty two point fifteen all season six, and total offense
with an average three seventy three. I said that already
rest of the categories like red zone, third down, and scoring,
the Eagles are in the top ten or knocking on
the door. I think we'd all rather see more points

from this offense, especially the first quarter, but controlling the
clock in the game in general are more important chance
and win. That is just efficiency.

Like everything I see, there is efficiency with running the ball,
and especially I think in twenty twenty two, the great
thing about the Eagles offense was they could chew out
the clock at the end of games. They could close games.
Last year they didn't have that capability. Now this year
they do again. They're number one rushing, they end up
scoring in the rushing game as well. But also like
the game against the Steelers, they keep the ball a lot.

If you can limit another team's possessions, like, yeah, that's
gonna be difficult for them to come back in a game.
It's gonna be difficult if they're down two scores. So
I think it's a winning formula all the way around.

I mean, I gotta give it to it. There's no
question about that. I mean he you know, you know
when he came back after Chip left, I mean he
really honed down. I mean he took his he took
his beating when Chip was here. And I think he's
he's changed the game. You know, Chanson, how do you
feel about how we moving forward?
Speaker 4 (16:33):
I mean, how he's been great, But I do like
how he does this kind of thing sometimes where he
goes a bit against the grain. So he sees a trend,
but he goes, I'm going to go to the opposite
of that trend sometimes, which is good because I felt
like he was trying to be a model of what
a modern NFL offense is. But I think this year
they went, Okay, let's get the running back. You know
the running back market. We don't have to pay too

much for a guy like Saquon Hey, he's available. Let's
pay him not that much money and be a little
bit different and run the ball a little bit more.
And guess what, Defenses aren't built to stop the run
as much anymore because they're smaller. They have smaller linebacker,
smaller defensive linemen. It's all about speed, all about the
passing game. So here come the Eagles with this giant,
beefy offensive line that's really good at blocking, and this
running back more athletically, right, second largest in the league,

and they're more and the running back is more athletic
than any other player in the field.

That's an incredible thing to have, right. I want to
get to this real quick. This is one of the
things I wanted to do before we go to break

the changing of the guard, changing of the guard, the
NFL power rankings, But we're talking earlier about how a team,
a championship team is built and it's draft picks, its

proper draft picks. This is great From twenty twenty two.
Jordan Davis, Cam Jurgens, Nakobe Dean, Grant, Calcatara, Reblanken, Ship Britton, Covey,
Josh Joby gone now because he was in a crowded secondary,
there was no there was no space for him. But
he's playing well in Seattle. Jalen Carter Nolan Smith, Tyler Stein,

Sidney Brown, Kelly Ringo, Tara McKee, Moro, Ojomo, Quinnyon Mitchell,
Cooper de Jean, Jylex Hunt, will Shipley, Andiah Smith, Junior Trotter,
Trevor Keegan, and Johnny Wilson all making contributions. The only
one that hasn't really panned out in the last three
drafts is Kyron Johnson.

why this team is having success. There are seven players,

half of your total starting lineup on offense and defense
covered by rookie salaries. Rookie salary contracts that are less
than a million a year. It's amazing, less than a
million a year. This is why you can go out
and sign Barkley. This is why you can resign Davonte

and extend Dickerson and pay your franchise quarterback two hundred
and sixty million bucks. No positions of weakness right now.

production they've had in their first Yeah.

defensive Rookie of the Year.

it's not the old line, it's not Saquon Barkley. It's
Howie finally figuring out how to draft because for years,
when we're looking for these cornerstone pieces and we're not
getting them, then we have to go to the open

market and buy him. You can't put a championship team
together unless you have a compliment of both rookies and
those four and five year rookie contracts that allow you
to go spend thirty nine million dollars on Saquon Barkley
and get that final piece of the puzzle. But like

On que Mark. I this guy, I mean stud stud Yeah,
I mean I was so happy when he fell to us.
I mean that was one of the best picks. You know,
how he's made in a long time, and he's proven

You see him getting that in that scuffle. Yeah, dude,
he threw a punch. Yeah, he came right to the
defense late. That was awesome. That was awesome.

That's the kind of guy you want in your locker

If you don't hear quinnyon Mitchell's name during the game,
perfect right, It's called the Bobby Taylor syndrome. You never

That is the way to do it. Eagles number one
in scoring defense. Only twenty six touchdowns scored against this
Philadelphia Eagles defense all season, once.

deficiencies in any position on the defense, because even during
Gang Green, we still had toast. You had Eric Allen

on one side, but you had Isazel Jenkins on the other,
and that's where quarterback was throwing. I don't see any
weaknesses on this defense at all.

I think maybe the only one I see is like
the fourth cornerback. If they really have to go any deeper,
that's when Avonte Maddox has to get on the field,
and that's where you have issues. But like that's it.
The secondary, including safety, has been really good. Defensive line,
I think the defensive ends have been awesome. Linebackers have
been great. Like every level is playing at a very
high level. I mean, I don't see much.

I don't see why did when Reed Blanket Ship went
out a couple of weeks ago with a concussion, why
was Sidney Brown not in the game. I think he's
been hurt too.

Is he still hurt?

He's been nagging injuries like on and off. I don't
think like an extended injury, but it's just a few
things there. Then he got a concussion last week, Yes, Rudy, right, Yeah.

Because you know there's big hopes for him and in
all defense, when you're talking about that fourth quarterback situation.
I know he's not, but i'd certainly rather see Sidney
in there in some sort of mix if it's necessary.
As opposed to Avante. Avante is just yeah, he's down
on the depth chart. He's dead. Yeah, yeah, he just

can't play. He can't play anymore.

Every time he's on the field, there's something he's getting
burned or they're targeting him. He is, he's a it's
a problem when he's on the field.

Uh. Second in third down defense at thirty four point
one percent other notables seventh and rushing defense.

Fourth in red zone defense at forty eight.

Those two things right there.

So third down defense, red zone defense, those are probably
the two margins that win you a game offensively defensively,
those two situations and the fact that they are that
good in those is telling for everything. That's where they're
winning football game, and that's where they're winning defense.

the turnover, when Dejon dropped the punt, and Eagles defense
held them right there, didn't get seven.

Yes, that's a huge, that's a huge.

That was huge.

Yeah. And that started with the Green Bay game.

If you guys remember, I mean we had some early
turnovers in our in our red zone and the defense held.
I was I was really shocked. And it all started
from then. You know, it's progressing. This defense is on fire.

Man. We are.

Oh cool, we got we got some stuff still. Yeah,
here we go. Uh okay, defense. We just talked about.
What about the offense? You ask, Eagles are six in
total offense with an average of three hundred and seventy
three point two yards per game and forty four offensive touchdowns.
Number one in rushing with one hundred and eighty six
point two average yards per game at twenty six touchdowns.

Only Buffalo has more.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Number one in time of possession with an average of
thirty two point fifteen all season six, and total offense
with an average three seventy three. I said that already
rest of the categories like red zone, third down, and scoring,
the Eagles are in the top ten or knocking on
the door. I think we'd all rather see more points
(14:25):
from this offense, especially the first quarter, but controlling the
clock in the game in general are more important chance
and win. That is just efficiency.

Like everything I see, there is efficiency with running the ball,
and especially I think in twenty twenty two, the great
thing about the Eagles offense was they could chew out
the clock at the end of games. They could close games.
Last year they didn't have that capability. Now this year
they do again. They're number one rushing, they end up
scoring in the rushing game as well. But also like
the game against the Steelers, they keep the ball a lot.

If you can limit another team's possessions, like, yeah, that's
gonna be difficult for them to come back in a game.
It's gonna be difficult if they're down two scores. So
I think it's a winning formula all the way around.
Complimentary football by both offense and defense.

If this works and the team now focuses on all aspects,
including linebacker and how he's let loose. Is he quickly
becoming one of the best gms in football?

I think so. I don't know, Mark, what do you say.
I don't think he's be kind. I think he is
the best GM football.

I mean, I gotta give it to it. There's no
question about that. I mean he you know, you know
when he came back after Chip left, I mean he
really honed down. I mean he took his he took
his beating when Chip was here. And I think he's
he's changed the game. You know, Chanson, how do you
feel about how we moving forward?
Speaker 4 (16:33):
I mean, how he's been great, But I do like
how he does this kind of thing sometimes where he
goes a bit against the grain. So he sees a trend,
but he goes, I'm going to go to the opposite
of that trend sometimes, which is good because I felt
like he was trying to be a model of what
a modern NFL offense is. But I think this year
they went, Okay, let's get the running back. You know
the running back market. We don't have to pay too
(16:53):
much for a guy like Saquon Hey, he's available. Let's
pay him not that much money and be a little
bit different and run the ball a little bit more.
And guess what, Defenses aren't built to stop the run
as much anymore because they're smaller. They have smaller linebacker,
smaller defensive linemen. It's all about speed, all about the
passing game. So here come the Eagles with this giant,
beefy offensive line that's really good at blocking, and this
running back more athletically, right, second largest in the league,

and they're more and the running back is more athletic
than any other player in the field.

able to use those projects with Jeff Staltlin and make
like the greatest offensive lineman.

That's an incredible thing to have, right. I want to
get to this real quick. This is one of the
things I wanted to do before we go to break
our first one coming back. Then we're gonna go into
the changing of the guard, changing of the guard, the
NFL power rankings, But we're talking earlier about how a team,
a championship team is built and it's draft picks, its

proper draft picks. This is great From twenty twenty two.
Jordan Davis, Cam Jurgens, Nakobe Dean, Grant, Calcatara, Reblanken, Ship Britton, Covey,
Josh Joby gone now because he was in a crowded secondary,
there was no there was no space for him. But
he's playing well in Seattle. Jalen Carter Nolan Smith, Tyler Stein,

Sidney Brown, Kelly Ringo, Tara McKee, Moro, Ojomo, Quinnyon Mitchell,
Cooper de Jean, Jylex Hunt, will Shipley, Andiah Smith, Junior Trotter,
Trevor Keegan, and Johnny Wilson all making contributions. The only
one that hasn't really panned out in the last three
drafts is Kyron Johnson.

why this team is having success. There are seven players,

half of your total starting lineup on offense and defense
covered by rookie salaries. Rookie salary contracts that are less
than a million a year. It's amazing, less than a
million a year. This is why you can go out
and sign Barkley. This is why you can resign Davonte

and extend Dickerson and pay your franchise quarterback two hundred
and sixty million bucks. No positions of weakness right now.

You know, green Bay was was not an easy to
take asking week one, and they're not going to be
moving forward and you know, depending on what's your beta.
Here in this segment is how all of the next
three weeks is going to play out, or possible scenarios
for how this is gonna play out.

why you saw Dan Campbell declare an on side kick
down ten points with twelve minutes left. That's the kind

How do you feel about Dan Campbell? I you know,
you gotta like the guy, but is he is he
too aggressive? Is he a Nick Sirianni?

he's very hesitanting times to be aggressive, and it just
doesn't seem like there is any rhyme or reason. It's

Dan Campbell has an ideaity and he's like, I'm aggressive.
Our offense is the best part of our team. I
want to give my offense as many possessions as possible.

it can get reckless, and it got reckless last year,
but also that's gonna win them a lot of games,
and teams sometimes are going to have to keep up

you have to hope that there's some pride left over there.
And then they played with Minnesota, and if this is
just a really strange situation here here, we'll just we'll

Here's the scenario that plays out in a way that
just doesn't favor us for that number one seed.

If Atlanta loses.

Today and either Seattle or LA lose, Green Bay clinches
a playoff spot, they are the sixth seed right now,
all right, And with two other teams in their division
having two more wins than they do, two or three
more wins than three more wins than they do. I

think they're nine and five, right, all right, three more wins.
They they can't move. They can't move. They might, you know,
get to they can't move. The sixth seed is the
number one wild card seed. So and here's the other part.
If none of those scenarios play out, all right, and

they beat New Orleans tomorrow night they clinch New Orleans
is coming to Green Bay tomorrow, It's gonna be twenty
two degrees in game time. It's not a favorable situation
for a Dome team, especially one that's playing in a backup,
backup quarterback at a backup backup quarterback exactly.

So it's it's not a it's not a situation where.

Any of this plays out well because Minnesota plays green
Bay next week and green oops, and more than likely
green Bay will have nothing to play.

yes they have injuries on the defense, Chicago might.

out in the most blase fashion against the Rams, even
while getting Nick Bosa and Drake Greenlaw back. This season
that has been disappointing for the Niners been hit by
the injury bug. John Lynch and Kyle Shannon have what
looks to be a bigger problem. However, when you have

a player in Devondre Campbell who refuses to go on
the field and finishes his tenure as a forty nine
er on the suspension list, there's trouble in Paradise.

I think they didn't want to cut him because they

this will play out. One of these teams, Minnesota or Detroit,
will lose one game in the six total games or
in the four total games that they had before their
final matchup in week eighteen. One of these, one of

have to determine what we're rooting for in week eighteen.
I think the scenario that we're all looking for right
now and once again go Seattle. If Seattle beats Minnesota
today in that dreary, forty degree rainy, awful, twelfth Man

it is it is I've been there five times and
every time I leave it's like Christmas. I just happy,
just happy to get out of there. So where are we, Jansing?

Seattle because Green Bay is gonna clinch by tomorrow. That's
