Have you ever heard of Bayard Rustin? Thanks to a new musical at People's Light "Bayard Rustin Inside Ashland" – we find out more about the relatively little-known individual who was a major figure in organizing the 1963 March on Washington and a pioneer for LGBTQ rights. I speak to the lead actor, Reggie D. White who shares what it was like to portray Rustin during a transformative moment for the young activist - his 1944 prison sentence in Ashland, Kentucky. The play runs through June 12th.

I speak with Dr. Kristen Whitaker who is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research, our charity sponsor. Dr. Whitaker is an Assistant Professor at Fox Chase Cancer Center with a practice focused on patients with breast cancer and patients at high risk for breast and ovarian cancer.
