(00:26):
and ding it. Yeah, youknow, just I guess it's gonna go
out there and trying to swing itand dang it. All right, Hello
and welcome to Swing It and DingIt and iHeartMedia podcast presented by Draftking Sportsbook.
More on that later as we seethe line for the PGA Championship and
driven by Maul Chevrolet find your perfectdrive at maul Chevrolet, South Jersey's number

(00:46):
one Chevy dealer only at maul Chevydot com. We are fortunate enough to
be joined Harry and Danielle. ButI don't know if you've heard this name
in the past couple weeks in thePhiladelphia area, but Brayden Shattuck. Welcome
this Ing and Braden. Anything goingon lately, man? What's happening with
you? Just same old, sameold, Yeah, just the same old,
same old. Nothing out of theordinary. Nope. Nothing, Nothing

(01:10):
like your entire life getting turned around, you know, doing the thing that
you love to do the most, and all of a sudden you are back
in doing it better than ever.M Braden is the director of instruction at
Rolling Green. Is there any golfcourse that's mentioned more than Rolling Green on
this podcast? I don't think so. No, there was no, For
one reason or another. It's crazy, Yeah, it's it's a favorite.

(01:30):
It's a favorite of a lot ofour gas. Brandon, you're from the
area, right aston Pa. Correct? Is that where you're originally originally from.
Yep. Grew up in a spa, which is, you know,
about twenty minutes down the street fromRolling Green in Springfield. Awesome. Awesome,
So, I mean obviously the bignews with you is you are currently,
as we record this, you aredriving to Rochester, New York,

(01:51):
to play in the PGA Championship.Um. You you competed in the Professional
Championship in New Mexico at the beginningof May there and walked away with the
victory. I am looking at apicture of you holding that beautiful crystal trophy
right here. Talk about that,um, just in and of itself,
right, Getting getting to that pointgetting to that event, but then winning
that event and now knowing what thatleads to. Yeah, it was.

(02:15):
It was. It's pretty cool.I mean just getting to the event took
a few years, having to workin the business and having to go through
the whole process of getting my PGAmembership, and then had some issues with
my first year trying to get intothis our Section Championship, which is the
qualifier for the national Club Pro andI missed, like I missed membership based

(02:38):
off of like a like a formalitywithin the PGA of America by like three
days. So I wasn't able toplay in the twenty twenty one Section Championship,
which really sucked, but it motivatedme to get everything done and uh
for twenty twenty two, I wasable to play in the Section Championship and
UH qualified for this year. Imean, I had no idea what to

(03:00):
expect. I got out there. It was pretty cool. Like it's like
a whole it was like a tourevent. You got the tour vans and
like all the tent set up andall the guys from titles are there.
It was it was really neat experiencethat I was. I really wasn't even
ready for um it was. Itwas awesome in and of itself, and
then to walk away with the trophywas just you know, totally unreal.

(03:21):
Yeah, take us through that, man, I mean you had to nail
what a ten twelve foot part puttto lock it down? I mean,
what was going through your mind standingover that ball? Honestly, like my
mind was pretty quiet going, youknow, over those last couple of shots,
because you know, I, whileI'm off the golf courses, when
I do all my thinking about ohwhat if I what if I win?

(03:43):
What does this mean? Like Ido worst off the golf course. And
then once I was there, youknow that last chip and putt, I
was just laser focused, really justI mean, just like anybody else you
know who plays golf. I wasthinking about what not to do, uh,
you know, don't chank the chipshot right into the crowd or something
stupid like that. So you know, I'm still normal, but that part

(04:05):
put was it was just I wasjust like brain dead, but it just
went through my normal process and itwas just my heart rate was much higher
than a normal put That's all.Now it hasn't sunken in yet that you're
playing in a major championship or willthat happen when you're on the property in
about an hour. Yeah, Idon't think it's really hit yet. I

(04:26):
think once I get there and uh, my caddy, Ryan's in the car
with me, and he showed mea picture of Rory McRoy teeing off in
his practice round today and there's likethousands of people watching just the practice round.
So I think once I get upthere and the you know, the
whole the whole experience will start tosink in a little bit more. It's

(04:46):
all right, it's the same golfball, right, same size, you
got this, no big deal,no different than any week. Just the
bear of a golf course, that'sall. So Brandon, first, obviously
to our event. Take us throughyour prep what you guys have been doing,
just preparing, you know, obviouslyto take the drive up and get

(05:10):
out there. Obviously your caddy's showingyou some Rory videos. Maybe you know,
nerves are a little high. Butwhat does preparation look like? Um,
since you left Mexico. Yeah,so once I got back from New
Mexico, I was literally I gotoff the plane Thursday night and then Friday
morning, I was back on thelesson T teaching, so no rest for

(05:31):
the weary there. So I wasteaching all day Friday, teaching all day
Saturday, and I just did Iprobably didn't touch a club until like Wednesday.
I just was kind of exhausted. So and then prep really wasn't anything
crazy, just trying to go throughmy normal routine and hit some balls on
track man make sure everything looks goodon camera, chip and pud a little
bit. I did that, youknow, three four days I took off

(05:56):
from teaching. Scott was nice enoughto let me to you know, get
away from the uh the lesson Tfor the week, which was great.
So I was able to relax andrest up. Um having a little bit
of risk issues, but I'm soI'm just healing that up too. So
but I'm feeling good and uh butnothing crazy as far as prep. I
just looked at the yardage book andlooked at decade and uh, did some

(06:19):
course flyovers just to take a lookat the golf course. But nothing.
Nothing now the ordinary really right,And what we know about golf coverage is
sometimes it really you know, pullsthe curtain back and we get to see
some incredible stories about the people thatare involved. Sometimes they beat it to
death, let's face it, right, Harry Um. But sometimes it really

(06:41):
does uncover some things that you know, people didn't know. And you know,
in in the short time that we'veseen a lot of posts about you
heading to the PGA Championship, we'veseen about you know, the setback four
years ago when you were in Floridacompeting in the Mini Tours and had the
car accident. And you know, the great philosopher of our time, Mike
the situation from the Jersey Shore says, to come back is always greater than
the setback, as you know,Bradon, So talk about from the time

(07:04):
that happened, Well, you mighthave to get a tattooed on you now,
So talk about the time from fouryears ago you're you don't know if
you're ever gonna be able to playthe game of golf, and here you
are back, Like what what wasthat road like? Uh? It was
pretty rough. I mean in fairness, Uh, completely had to shut it

(07:27):
down and step away from competitive golfand and work in the golf industry and
kind of watch everybody else play golf. It was tough because you know,
my peers, should I play within college who were good, um,
you know, they were having successyou know on the different feed or tours
and corn Fair. It was likementally really it was. It was a

(07:48):
little bit rough ever succeed and whileI literally couldn't even barely get out of
bed. So uh, it wasit was it was the road for there,
um and not really having any ideawhether I would ever be able to
get back on the course or notwas also I think even worse so.

(08:09):
And it was tough because like golfwas one my it was my main outlet,
and and you know working out wasanother outlet. Both of those things
got taken away, you know, from there it really just kind of you
had nothing to do but just sitaround and just think about everything. So
it was definitely it was a littlerough, but um, you know,
it feels fortunate to be in theI don't know, Yeah, Brandon,

(08:31):
can you put into words your levelof gratitude that you have right now just
to be able to play golf, let alone being on your way to the
PGA. Hey, can you guyshear me? I think I'm cutting in
and out a little bit that soundyeah? Yeah, all right, great?

(08:52):
I didn't catch catch the question ifI was just asking if you if
you can put into words just levelof gratitude that you feel, you know,
being able to play golf, beinggoing through what you had to go
through, and now being able toplay in a major championship. Yeah,
I mean, every swing just feelslike a miracle. Really. Uh just

(09:16):
I feel lucky to be playing atall, and it just feel like I'm
playing on house money. So it'sit's it just feels great. It feels
amazing. I feel lucky. Ilove it. I see Mike Dinda has
popped on the screen. Well,we'll hop we'll pop Mike in in a
second. Who's on the grounds inRochester? It looks like a lovely day.
Yeah, Brady, just touch realquick. I think a lot of
people know the area, right, they know what a hotbed is. This

(09:39):
is, you know Philadelphia area isfor golf. Talk about how this area,
the competitions that you play in frequently, the courses that you play,
how they've prepared you for what you'reabout to take on. Yeah, we
have a great section down there, and we play a really robust tournament schedule.
I don't I mean, and Italked to a lot of the guys

(10:00):
down at the club throw who playin other sections in the country, and
I think we have by far oneof the best tournament schedules in the country
for sure. I mean we playalmost every single week for decent purses,
decent money, good trophies, andyou know, we always have full fields
like I mean this this week atGreen Valley was one hundred and fifty guys.
So it's wow. It's great thatevery every week we have good tournaments,

(10:26):
good courses like our match plays overat at Aeronomic later this year.
I mean, you can't beat that. It's a tour level golf course.
So we are We're very fortunate tohave as much good golf as we have,
to have the good tournament schedule thatwe have, and to have as
many guys playing that we do,because I mean some of the guys that
I talked to, one of thegentlemen was from Oklahoma and another guy was
from Kansas. I mean, theyonly get like thirty to thirty five guys

(10:50):
playing in their tournaments. I've neverheard of those places, never heard of
those play. Yeah, hey,Brandon, what kind of things can you
learn from a week like this upat killed a major championship. I would
say a couple of things. Firstwould be what an actual major championship set

(11:11):
up looks like in terms of thelength and the conditions. And then another
would be mentally, like, whathappens to me mentally and what happens to
my body? How do I reactwith the nerves. I think that's a
really good learning experience for me morethan anything, just to see kind of
what what both of those look like. Now, will the lesson rate increase

(11:33):
or has it already? Since winningthis chance, this great honor, The
member rate's not going anywhere, likethe members are safe any outsider. Outsiders
will get a little bump. Yeah, yeah, well I understand they had
a big watch party for you.How cool was that, you know,
just kind of knowing the support youwere getting from back at your home club.

(11:56):
Yeah. Scott Chisholm, or headgolf professional Rolling Green, sent me
a video that evening and it washe kind of like panned around the room
to all the people who were inthere watching and it was the final put
and it was cool to listen allthe like the banter of the guys.
Did you find out who the guywas that said he pushed it because I
heard it. I don't know ifyou heard it. I wasn't happy about

(12:20):
it. I almost got my carand drove there. What tell me about
that? Do you identify the person? I confronted him about it? Yeah?
I found out. I was like, who do you think you are?
I heard what you said. Hedefended himself. He said that the
announcer said it was a left edgebutt and the putt looked like it was
outside the hole, which it was, and I could see how you think

(12:41):
I pushed it. I'm gonna haveto see that video because right in your
reaction, we had a you know, just a calm, little fist pump
and a tip of the hat.But I have a feeling that room was
a little more rowdy and a littlebit more rambunctious with their reactions than you
were. Yea, yeah, itwas pretty electric in there. I'll definitely
have to send you that video.I enjoyed watching that. Well, give
us a little what's in the bag. What equipment you got rocking this week

(13:07):
up at up at Oak Hill?Yeah, sure, I've got I've got
both the TSR driver and three woodin the bag. When I was at
out in New Mexico, Uh,they put it me in a new titles
set that I didn't even know existed. It's called the TSR two plus.
They moved funny how these worlds openwhen you start winning? Man, isn't
it funny? Else? And thetruck start pulling up. Stay, you

(13:31):
have to tell us a little bitmore of what it's like, because it's
one thing being on tour each week, having access to you know, making
sure all your clubs are lined up. But wait until you're you know,
you're at this major championship. Yougotta stack up on some new clubs,
new gear shifts, so everything youwant, the beanies you want, the
visors you want, the pullovers, you get everything. Yeah, I'm gonna

(13:54):
really soak in the experience, ifyou know what I'm trying to say.
It'll be really cool. Yeah.I mean, just even out at the
Club Pro, just to see thetour vans and all that stuff and all
those guys. I just went upto the titles guys and I was like,
Hey, I don't really like neednew stuff, but you know,
my three wood spin rates a littleinconsistent. One time it's like it spins
up forty eight hundred and the nextone's like flat at like twenty eight hundred.

(14:18):
So they brought one the one guyover and I was hitting some shots
and he was like, yeah, that just doesn't seem right, and so
he brought another. The next thing, you know, he got three guys
over there like problem solving this thingfor me, and I walk away with
like the perfect three wood for theweek. I didn't miss a shot.
It was fantastic. So like tohave that treatment was like super helpful,
and that that club was a wasa weapon for the week. So if

(14:41):
I can have that kind of treatment, that'll be it'll be incredible. So
I've got the I got the titleof woods in the bag. I've got
the title of irons in the bag. I threw a actually stricks on two
iron in right before that tournament, which is which was great. I hit
that a ton, and then Igot the vokey wedges and a uh last

(15:03):
but not least, the makefield vs. Putter. I got the makefield vs.
With a flat neck on it,and uh, that thing is just
light up there you go, itis, mister Dinda. How are we

(15:24):
doing? Wait, you have Danielleon the show? Oh yeah, yeah,
I'm here. Yeah, she's onlybeen over like a year. Thanks
for watching, thanks for listening.Yeah yeah, thank oil listener. Can
you bring me a backstop please? So um, I'm sorry I'm delayed,
Brandon, not your travels going back? All is good man, nice and

(15:50):
smooth so far. We just staredabout rising for a putter. Nice.
What do you think? I don'tcare if it's on the l I l
I V Tour, the PGA Tour. Get a makefield on anybody's hands,
they'll put better and win more money. I love, I love Mike Dinda.
He just alright, alright bradon Um, he's getting close, I think

(16:17):
so oh kill so we should probablyjust let him go. We really appreciate
a couple of minutes. Man,congratulations again and just really enjoy soaking everything
of this great week up at upat the PGA. We'll be rooting for
you. Thank you, guys.I really appreciate it, and thank you
for having me on Weetha Invitational thisyear again. Right, you're three.

(16:37):
Yeah, absolutely, I hadn't throwmy plug. Mike got his. I
had a throw. We're open forplugs here on swinging thinking all right,
hang on, hang on one second, Micha will talk to you a little
bit, but Brandon safe travels man. All of Philly is rooting for you,
and we'll talk soon. Thanks, guys, take care, all right,
all right, all right, misterDinda on the property in Rochester.

(17:02):
How's Rochester? I feel like everytime we talk to you, you're somewhere.
We never get you stationary, butI love it. That's who you
are. My body emotions stays emotionchef. You know that. That's right,
bro, that's right. Voice isnot video, right, No,
just that it just the audio.Yeah, I could see you. I
could see you though, so sokeep it PG. Yeah. I'll you

(17:23):
know how I rolled. That's whyI had to get the disclosure. You
know, well, now you wereinside the ropes earlier today tell us about
you know who you were following, and you know what your impressions are of
the of the golf course. SoI would suggest they keep it in the
short grass. M The rough wasway over my shoes. Here comes Peak
Coln. Anybody want to talk toPeak Cowen? I don't think so.

(17:47):
Um. The greens are probably tenor eleven today, according to John Graham,
one of my buddies, But rightnow there's no humanity. We had
a frost de lay this morning andwhat the winds picking up? This place
should be firm and it should becrispy by Sunday? Does it? Does
it remind you of any place? Are you getting any feelings like, oh,
you know what this kind of remindsme of such and such? Course
give anything to jumping out of you. Uh, a little bit of aronomic,

(18:14):
a little bit of rolling false fronts. Um. But it's a big
boys ballpark. It's not like it'sthat's a big ballpark. Yeah. Uh,
I mean it reminds me of majorhow's that for an answer? I'm
sorry you don't get Michael. Sometimesyou we might not all be as gifted
with words. And why don't yoube our inside of this week and capture
video and content and send it tous and we can put it up on

(18:37):
the Swinging and Dang and Instagram, the Twitter and show everybody what you're seeing
there. I want a picture ofyou. Show me how high that rough
is? Um? All right,do that tomorrow? Perfect. I want
to do like to drop the ballin the rough thing, but you have
to. It's been overdone, butit's obligatory. You have to do nob
you you were going to do itwith a beer in hand. I'm doing

(19:00):
it different. Yeah, lay yourselfdown in the rough. They're a little
snow angel. See we're working withthere. Angel, my shirt off and
lay down to rough. But Idon't so I'll just not do that one.
Somebody might take your credential away.Let's like I said, keep it
peg. How many how many holesdoes that Alan's Creek come into play on?

(19:22):
Is it all throughout the entire golfcourse? I do not know the
answer to that question, so Ican wing it or just say I don't
know a lot of a little, but I mean, you know several.
Right, So we hung around todayby the putting rain the practice range,
and we did uh. I didone, two, three, fourteen through
eighteen, So I can't answer youabout the creek, okay, But fourteen

(19:45):
through eighteen, those last couple ofholes are are bears, aren't they?
Although hey, eighteen was playing downhurricane, so they I think they were
any driver wedge? Oh wow, that's that's a five hundred yard hole,
isn't it. Everything's overrated? Harry? You know that down and firm fairways,
get the quarters up over the level. You know? How how the

(20:06):
fitting go today? With? Yeah? Did you respond well to the putter,
so uh, he loves it.He had a lot of inquisitive,
um detail oriented questions, which Ithink I faked with the best of them.
Yeah, did you know there wasgonna be math today? Because I
feel like there might have been somemath. Yeah, Jeff, I went
to college for twelve years. I'mreally good at and supply demand. That's

(20:30):
it. Well, then to sharewith our listeners. They want to know
what you know, not only apro player or a live player, if
you will, would say when they'regetting their hands on a new putter.
So what did he ask about makefieldand what were some of your responses?
I love you, Danielle, youknow that right, so cool answer the

(20:51):
question. So obviously since Brandon onthe National, we're getting a lot of
questions about the putter, and itwas nice of the announcers that the National
to say, you know, withoutthis putter, I mean, the greens
in Nemesca were so full of Polanna. Our ball rolls quicker and smoother than

(21:11):
every potter I've tested it against. So um, you know my add Danielle,
what was the second part of thatquestion? What did Bracen ask you
about the potter once he got inhis hand and hit if you rolled a
few putts, you know, andunfortunately I had an arm lock here in
the caddy beIN he hit it.He didn't like the chat, which is

(21:33):
funny. He loved the head andhe asked about forty questions about the clubface
technology, with which I did asales presentation, but I also did it
as a human being and as afellow golf geek, and I said,
listen, these this radio cost phasetechnology puts the best role on the ball,
according to any potter we've measured onthe Quintic. So he loved the

(21:59):
quintic Um. I know his formercompany Sick, which I probably can't mention
since it's La Golf now, butI'm very friendly with Sick, Steve and
Mark the former or Steve's the owner. But he was very inquisitive about the
technology, and I think we mighthave a new a new a new star.
Wow, very cool. That's huge. Yeah, who cares what tour

(22:21):
live? It doesn't matter, rightplaying a screen door open tour. Just
be on tour. Well, whodo you like this week in the tournament?
Who you think is gonna win it? So whoever, I bet I
wanna go to the opposite and betheavily. Yeah. So I've been a
black cloud lately, buddy too,and I call him for some possible inclement
weather rolling in this weekend, didI hear? So watch the way this

(22:44):
little morning for frostlated this morning, and uh it's I think he's gonna be
cool, but it's gonna be likePhiladelphia, May Harrol. You know what's
a big deal? All right, that's good for braiding. That's good.
That's good for braiding. Yeah right, let's take a quick break and we
will be right back, all right, and welcome back to swing It and
Ding it awesome here and from BradenShattuck, who is up in Rochester getting

(23:08):
ready to do his thing. Aswe mentioned at the top of the show,
we are driven by Maul Chevrolet andthey are a proud sponsor of our
golf outing. I confirm with Craigthe owner yesterday we will have a vehicle
for a hole in one. AndI just heard of a local course in
pa I forget, like right aroundour area. I'm drawing a blank on
which one it was. Somebody hitit from Masarati three year at least on

(23:29):
the Maserati so like, yeah, people do hit these things. So mal
Chevy great partners, always have been, and we're proud to proud to be
partners with them and happy they're helpingus with our golf outing. But Harry,
they're the best mal Chevrolet man.Yeah, they are, you know,
you know, for eight years ina row now, Moose and Danielle,
maul Chevrolet has been South Jersey's numberone Chevy dealer. Now, it

(23:51):
could be because they treat their customersright, That's why mal Chevy was voted
a top one hundred dealer in thecountry for customer satisfaction. But I still
think it's because of their motto,we sell Chevies for lest Find your perfect
drive at maul Chevrolet is at maulChevrolet on Haddonfield Road and Cherry Hill,
right across from the Cherry Hill Mall, or get him online at maul Chevy

(24:12):
dot com. Find your perfect driveat maul Chevrolet and maul Chevy dot com.
No one doesn't like Harry Mace No, No. What stuck out to
me with Braden and it sticks outwith a lot of these guys, right,
just how much they love the gameof golf, right they Yeah,
there was a quote in the piecethat was around on social media. I'll

(24:33):
read it real quick. It justsaid at the end it was like just
talking about his commitment and getting backafter the injury, he said, I'm
obsessed with golf. It's my entirelife. Every day I wake up,
it's either playing golf, teaching golf. I'm at the golf course. I
don't even know what I would dowithout golf. Yeah, right, So
it's like this kind of sounds likethe TJ. Kala, But he's up

(24:53):
to now saying how much he lovesgolf. But and then you see him
yesterday, right, we saw he'sout there with Brooks in d and he's
fitting right into me. Man.He looks like he's one of the boys
out there. And according to DNDA, he was putting the ball out with
those guys so excited for for someonefrom our area to get a shot like
this. Yeah, it is prettycool, man. And also the satisfaction

(25:14):
that he gets out of making peoplebetter, like like these guys. You
know, sometimes we forget about, you know, these club pros, how
much they love to teach and howmuch they love seeing the progression and the
members at their club. If they'reat a private club or just you know,
you know, it's just people youknow that don't belong to clubs but
are coming to them for lessons tosee a guy go from you know,
where you can't break one hundred andtwenty too, you know, one day,

(25:37):
you know, shooting ninety ninety five. Like think, think about the
satisfaction they get out of that. It's it's pretty cool. Yeah. Yeah.
And Danielle, you see so manyof these guys, right, you
know, with Brandon for so long, like these just these golf guys are
just and gals. They are usedand I love, literally, I love
every second of it. But speakingof Brandon being in the PGA Championship,

(25:59):
I read article this morning by GolfChannel Digital right, and I just want
to I want to run this byyou guys, because I was thinking about
it, and I was talking tosome people on the course last week and
I just want to know. Sothis article says, from its inception in
nineteen sixteen, the PGA Championship wasa match play tournament through nineteen fifty seven,
and they keep periodically suggesting that areturn to match play but not likely

(26:21):
and why Golf Channel route worst casescenario all the highly seated name quote unquote
players get eliminated before the final,And if you're a TV network that has
spent big bucks to televise the event, you don't want two guys you've never
heard of in the final. Iwant to know what you guys think about
this. I think there should bea match play event in the calendar.

(26:41):
And we know that the WGC downin Austin is going away for a while.
I don't know. I hope itcomes back, maybe somewhere. It's
going to be somewhere else and witha different spons or, whatever it is,
because I love it as a partof the count. I love watching
it once or twice. I don'tknow about on a major though, I
kind of agree. You know,I'm big on the you know, the
idea of the night and Moose. You sell advertising, you know, you

(27:03):
think about it. You're trying to, you know, sell these clients on
giving you. But let me playDevil's advocate all of Philadelphia. Someone like
Braydon Chattick wins this. Yeah, one of the storylines. How crazy is
that? Yeah? Absolutely? AndI'm sure there's plenty of members at Roland
Green that are putting up money foryou know, he's plus twenty two hundred
for a top forty. I mean, make the cut. You got a

(27:25):
pretty good shot at making a topforty, you know, So yeah,
that storyline would be fantastic. Althoughhow many times does it you know,
could it happen? Yeah? Yeah, you get those first major nerves,
it's tough to make the cut, especially when you're at Oak Hill with you
know, Donald Ross loves those elevatedgreens. I was talking to Brad last

(27:47):
night. He said, this courseis showing its teeth. We heard didn't
to say the rough was? Imean, where's that video from him?
We're still waiting on that night tous, right, I think he's in
the rough somewhere. Well yeah, well what did you say rough? Yeah,
but Brady's you know, teeing itup first with Sean mckeel, former
champion back from two thousand and three. That hit what Brandal Shambilee called might

(28:08):
have been the greatest finishing shot, closing shot in championship golf when he won
it in two thousand and three. And also Stephen Alker, who had had
a tremendous year last year on PGATour champions So he's surrounded by some some
pretty heavy hitters. Yep, nodoubt. All right, let's take a
quick look back and then we willlook forward to do a full preview of

(28:29):
the PGJA Championship. Harry, Ihate to do it to myself, but
I just saw the landscapers pull up. They were told no nine to ten
on Wednesday. So you have thelandscaper. I have the dog or working
this mute button. So a Tand T buyer. Nelson speaking of people
that were on our show, incredibleperformance from Austin Ekrote gets his second place.

(28:52):
Um. But Jason Day thirteenth PGATour win, first win in over
five years. Um, you know, incredible leaderboard to watch. Obviously we
had a vested interest having you know, Austin on the show with us before.
But Jason Day, Harry, Imean he's been he's been around,
been knocking on the door. Yeah, and he had some great quotes where
he almost kind of gave it up. I mean, it's so crazy to

(29:14):
see the ups and downs in hisgames. The Ricky Fowler's right, the
Jordan's speech that like go down forit, just his wild and the guys
that just stick with it, persevereand keep finding ways to improve. Finally,
get it done again. Yeah, you know, like you said,
his thirteenth win on the PGA Tour, and he does it on Mother's Day
too, which you know, helost his mom, you know, in
the in the recent past, whohad been battling cancer, I believe for

(29:36):
a long time, and that waspart of the reason. That was one
of the many things that kind ofheld him back, along with vertigo back
problems. I mean, he's beenthrough the ringer here, but there for
a while, he was the bestplayer in the game. He was a
former number one in the world. He went through a stage where he had
seven wins in seventeen starts, andfrom February of twenty fifteen to May of

(29:59):
twenty sixteen had eight wins that includedthe PGA Championship, the match Play Event,
and the Players Championship. Now youput all that together with thirteen wins,
he's a Hall of Famer in myview already, and he could be
knocking down, you know, oneor two or three more big championships before
it's all set and done, aslong as that back holds up. Did
you guys hear postgame he said,I didn't tell my wife this, but

(30:22):
I contemplated quitting. He's like,I was ready to give up the game.
How many times it just goes toshow you what a grind this game.
As we all love it, right, so we all secretly hate it.
Yeah, but he needed every shot, like you mentioned with twenty three
under par you know Cewoo and AustinEck wrote right on his heels at twenty
two under Austin bogie free sixty fiveon Sunday, I think he kind of

(30:45):
gave himself. He took himself maybeout of the mix in the front nine
because he had wayward drives on boththe par fives and only ended up making
par on both of those. Ithink, you know, that might have
been the difference. But my god, you know, the proximity to the
whole for Jason Day on Sunday wasabsolutely spectacular. He made that birdie chip
in on twelve. That's such greattechnique. I mean it's something you know,

(31:07):
I get practiced that, you know, for five years every day in
my life, and I'd never getit. But he is brilliant at it.
The birdie at what fifteen, thepar the par three, uh,
you know he had the up anddown on seventeen, which is that long
part three in the stadium where hehit it and it hit the green and
rolled off and he made a beautifulchip, made made par and then makes

(31:27):
the birdie at eighteen playing it asa three shot hole. And the emotions,
I mean, the tears just comeout it and his family's there.
It was really cool. It's awesome. Did you guys see his setup?
Did you see the post about hislike barn that he has? Oh yeah,
yeah? How do you not wina golf tournament? That's where you

(31:52):
live. Like, if you're notwinning golf tournaments, you have that,
that's a problem. Right, Yeah, If I had that, I shouldn't
stink still a guy, and Ishould get a lot better. But oh
my god, that place is unbelievable. Yeah. So some people have a
gym in their home and they don'tuse it. So even if it's your
backyard, you gotta use it.I walked, I walked by my tonal
every day just looks at me andwith shame. It's a mirror of shame.

(32:14):
That's all. My pellet, mypeloton two inches a dust on it.
Probably it's good for it's good fordrying towels. Though. I'll tell
you what peloton. You just hookthose towels right down there and you're good,
good to go. So what wasthe what was the chatter in the
in the friend group with with Austinbecause we know who he's close to a
lot of the guys that that you'reclose with, Daniel. Yeah, and
you know what, I you know, as as Harry just mentioned, you're

(32:35):
in sales and let's say, youknow, the Zurich the group I walked
with finished first. I walked withAustin. He finished second. I don't
know. I'm not saying it's me, but may have been those wayward drives
on the front nine hair, orcould have been because I wasn't walking with
them. I don't know, butno, I uh, you know,
obviously the rookie group is really close. It's funny. We did a wives

(32:57):
PGA to our wives event and theveteran wives, if you will, they
were saying like, oh, we'reintimidated buy you rookie wives because you came
in like twenty strong and we're like, oh, we just thought you didn't
like us, like you know, and they're like, nope, you guys
came into wenty strong and you're likethey have friends. They don't need any
and that's kind of how it iswith the rookie guys too. It's pretty
cool. I guess in previous years, especially the COVID years, they were

(33:19):
saying like they didn't come in likethat. So to answer your question,
you know, obviously we all supporteach other, all the rookies. We're
all rooting for each other. Whenwe were at the gala last week,
Full Swing was there. They're followingmy friend Rachel around and it was fun.
It was fun and a lot ofgroup tech just you know, giving
Austin praise and being super excited forhim. T two is awesome. Sea

(33:44):
Yeah, a lot of FedEx cuppoints and some US dollars and you know
what, most of all, itjust it makes you comfortable, right because
you're not like, Okay, Ican't take off a week. I don't
have my card next week. That'sthe biggest thing for a rookie, you
know, and next year you're basicallygoing to have like a you know,
a varsity and a JV team essentiallyhow it's how it's panning out. So
that's a TATOO was huge, especiallyfor a rookie. Security in the card.

(34:05):
I also liked watching Marty Doe whoat that club with the bucket hat.
You know, he he's so funny. He was his wife where the
matching hats. He always had thebucket hat on. He's he's just always
I've never seen the card without smileon his face. I know, he's
always got great facial expressions no matterwhat's going on. He was he was
leading a tournament by two shots onthe eighth hole and caught a flyer lie

(34:27):
and put it over the green, hits the cart path and goes oh,
b ends up double bogie and thenmade birdie on the next toll. So
you talk, you know, thinkabout that, like when we make a
double bogie and we've got a badbreaks done shot muscle, take a couple
of holes off and getting the hotright. Yeah, but uh, you
know, great great stuff out ofJason Day. Obviously love to see people

(34:51):
get it back, right. Iwent back to his old putter. Yeah.
I think, Harry, you've beenyou've been banging a drum all year
for Ricky that you think he willget it back soon too, And I
do. We'll see if happens.Uh, yeah, you know, see
how he does this week. It'sgonna say that's a smooth segue right there.
As we head far north, we'rebasically in Canada this week, right,
and so they're like, wow,it's a little chilly. It's like,
well, you're pretty far north.Yea frost delay tomorrow morning over there.

(35:15):
Yeah. Yeah. Reporter giving jtSo some feedback, He's like,
oh, we're in Rochester May He'slike, it basically snowed four weeks ago.
And the guy's like, no,it was five weeks ago or something.
He's like, shut up. Alot of chippies. I saw a
lot of chippiness with the reporters thisweek. Rory. Yeah, Rory was
kind of done with Allen Chipnuk. You could say, I don't know what

(35:36):
happened there. Um said he wasn'tanswering any questions about live Yeah, and
any question he was answering was veryUnrory like. So something was going on
there. Um, I don't know. Maybe the press corps was driving them
crazy and they just kind of wentinto it defensive. But um, yeah,
it looked a little rough. Butof course Oak Hill, the East
Course and original Donald Ross it's beencompletely redund since the last time Jason Duffner

(36:00):
was there in one, but sixmen's majors, three senior majors, two
USMS and a Ryder Cup. Andof course Jack Nicholas gets a seventeenth career
major in nineteen eighty. There sotons of history. The course is to
me that like, I love thisstyle of course. It's it's a Northeast
type of course of course, oldschool here. Every time they do so

(36:21):
many pieces on so many people thatfor a gambler like me, it's like,
oh God, they show camera youngand how he's like so comfortable and
it's a New York course and mygod, I gotta take him. But
yeah, I mean it is it'sone of those iconic courses and it's I'm
sure it'll show really well this week. Hopefully the weather holds up. Yeah,
I think the golf course is goingto be the star this week,
at least through the first three rounds. We'll see what happens on Sunday.

(36:42):
But it's into Andrew Green Restoration andhe's getting a lot of love. He's
doing a lot of redos of classicvenues, including the one. We were
at Wilmington last year for the BMW. Remember Moose, So he was there
addressing all the media and talking aboutyou know, what he's been doing with
all these great old courses. Sothis guy's a new hot guy in design.
But man, the finish is goingto be so great with these beast

(37:06):
three straight par fours. I amso looking forward to this the rough you
talked about, Danielle, and thenthese are tight fair ways, you know,
premium on accurate driving and also youknow, greens in regulation and par
four scoring because there's only two parfives to make your head and Harry,
speaking of par fives, I needto ask you the fourth six hundred and

(37:28):
fifteen yards. Yeah, how manytimes are you taking your head cover off
of your playing that hole? Maybe? Maybe three? Right? Yeah?
For me it's it's three and ahalf maybe four? Yeah. Is length
the weapon this week? I think? So. I think length is always
a weapon as long as you canfind, you know, find a fair

(37:51):
Yeah. So yeah, I puta model together. You know, I
tried to do my own little modelingthis week, and I took you know,
four or five different key stats andone of them was told old driving,
which includes the driving accuracy. AndI put a special focus on that,
uh, you know, with someof the guys and if you start
looking you put together greens in regulationtotal driving part four, scoring greens in

(38:12):
reg from one seventy five to twohundred yards. Gonna be a lot of
those irons coming in strokes gained approachis always an important button. You start
seeing the same names in the topyou know, twenty guys, and I
think that's how you narrow your field. I like it. That's good.
I like some nice modeling out ofHarry May's I heard that. I'm just
I'm just waiting to see the linefor you know, I already submitted,

(38:36):
you know, my Drive Kings Fantasylineup, but I'm waiting to maybe here's
something from one of YouTube guys onwho you think's taken home in the Watermaker
trophy, so I can adjust myline maybe a little bit. Yeah,
no doubt. And some interesting pairingsstarts off at at like eight eight am
tomorrow with Scheffler Brooks, Gary Woodland. You have Rory playing with Jat and

(38:57):
Calm Warkala, Matthew Fitzpatrick, CamSmith, John Rum. Yeah, so
you know it'll be it'll be interestingto see some of the some of the
guys playing together. Obviously some earlymorning starts with some wool hats on um
So, I think there's gonna bea little bit different. This course is
probably gonna play quite different from fromthe morning till the afternoon when the sun
comes out, because it's gonna bechilly in the morning. Starts here it

(39:19):
is, and they may have afrost delay which could push these tea times
back a little bit. And Ilooked into that moose, I'm going I'm
favoring the late early groupings, guysthat go out later on Thursday, it's
gonna be warmer. And I lookedinto the wind. The wind is not
really going to be that much ofa factor in my view when you start
looking at the numbers. UM So, late early was something that I really

(39:40):
focused in on because early Friday isnot going to be near as cold it's
gonna be, you know, inthe in the higher forties is the low
on Friday. It's down into thethirties. It's the low on Thursday.
So I kind of tried to factorthat into some of these groups too.
Yeah, I love that thought,Eric, because you you should have seen
last week in Texas the difference inwaves with the wind from the really was

(40:01):
substantial. So great thought. WhenI'm securing the rest of my line up
here with the d Dames a littlebit. But we know, like when
they group these guys together, youwent into some of the great groupings,
it can either go well or itcould go badly, Like there's there can
be a guy that could really dragdown the whole group. We've seen it,
and you've seen it up close,Danielle, and you don't you get

(40:22):
these low energy groups because guys getout to a bad start and it kind
of drags everybody into the hole.Yeah, there was a rumor was going
to be Can't lay in Brooks, but it's not Can't lays with Ricky Fowler
and Phil Nicholson, Which that's prettythat's grouping well. Phil, Will Phil
talk this week? How about howabout the pictures from the Champions dinner?

(40:44):
Phil with the oversized black suit thathe's now too skinny for. You see
a picture him walking with Colin moreCow and two steps in front is Rory
and Jay Monahan. So right tobe a fly on the wall. Interesting
stuff. And Phil had a bigglass of Pinot noir or something red.
It was right right, yeah, right now. Now he's pumping these gummies,

(41:05):
these four wellness gummies. Oh yeah, yeah. He was like,
I take four to five every coupleholes. And someone responded like, is
that the normal dosing, and thecompany responded, not really, but fil
really likes them. I don't thinkhe does anything. And the PGA Tour
drug Tesla, that's he walks offFriday. Yeah, but of course you

(41:29):
know from Tea Green, especially ina major championship week. The best place
to go to get in on allthe action happening on the links is Draft
Kings Sportsbook. This week, newcustomers will seven odds boost to add plus
one thousand to any pre tournament wagerup to ten dollars on any golfer to
win. Draft Kings will be featuringparlays and odds boosts all tournament long,
so be sure to check out DraftKings sports Book app every day before the

(41:51):
tournament starts to see what they havein store. As we see the line,
Harry, you've done some, youhave copious notes, You've done some,
some major research, has models created, and don't forget well, we'll
take a look at some of theplays. I know that there's some matchups
that I like. But download theDraft King sports Book app now, use
promo Code Ding d I n Gand boost your odds during this week's tournament.

(42:13):
That's Code ding only owned Draft Kingsports book gambling problem called one eight
hundred gambler, Harry, what arewe thinking? I'll start out with three
matchups that I like, and theseare based you know, total driving factors
in a lot. In these threematchups, song j M minus one twenty
over Djuh song Ja's you know,a very accurate driver. Uh. He

(42:35):
is actually eighteenth on tour in totaldrive and coming into this tournament, he
could win this thing. He couldwin this thing. He really could.
Ricky Fowler minus one thirty over TaylorGooch. See the one thing about nine
goots, She's getting some love here. As far as one of these live
guys, the thing is, it'sso hard to quantify what they've done over
the last year and a half, you know, as far as you know,

(42:58):
going into stats, because it's noton the PG it's not in the
PGA Tour stuff. But I'm gonnatake Fouler minus one thirty over Taylor Gooch
in a matchup, and I've takencan't lay who's not the favorite, by
the way, in this matchup,he's minus one hundred over his buddy Xander
Schoffley, who's minus one twenty.I'm gonna take Patrick Cantlay. Can't Lay's
my one and done pick. Godbless him with that. Although Adam Scott

(43:22):
actually played well last week. Hedrives it so well. He's eighth and
greens in rag. He's second intotal driving on the tour. He's third
in par four scoring now where hedrops off as the greens in rag from
one seventy five to two hundred. He's actually ninety ninth forty third overall and
strokes gained approach, strokes gain putting, he's eighteenth. I like that combination.

(43:44):
He's due. He's actually true ifyou look back at his last ten
twelve tournaments when he teas it up, he's essentially in the top ten,
and he's he's had a win anda runner up. So I'm going with
Patrick Cantlay overall fee nowe plus twentytwo hundred to win plus two hundred and
a top ten fowler. I loveat top twenty at plus two ten max

(44:05):
homa plus one sixty five at toptop twenty. Such a good driver of
the golf ball and a great putter. And Keegan Bradley is my long shot
at plus eleven thousand to win it, and I'll take him in a top
thirty at plus one eighty. Hegets that driver going, Uh, he's
he's tough to be, no doubt, no doubt about it. Um,
very interesting. Harry went deep nextlevel. See the line that's that's impressive.

(44:30):
I got time on my hand.I knew he was going to come
through this wake. I was justwaiting. I submitted my lineup. He
was asking about it. I said, Nana, wait till the POD's done.
Let me do my own thing. That's right, that's right. I
mean, you know, I actuallyhave Maxima in the US Open at thirty
five hundred already I do too,Yeah, yeah, I do too.
But um, you know guys thatguys like Hogie, you know, as

(44:52):
a long shot two hundred to one. Um, I actually took cam Smith
in my one and done. I'mlike, how many times they have opportunity
to take live guys? Right? And the rest the tournaments? I consider
kids always there. Right. Peopleare giving DJ a lot of love right
now coming off a win in Tulsa. Yeah. Surprisingly, people are giving
Speed a lot of love even comingoff that risk injury. I'm so confused
with that. I can't tell thatguy to his tape, right, that's

(45:15):
yeah. I just that doesn't looklike a champion, No Xander, and
the major is always is around, right, So to put him in the
top five at plus three sixty iseasy for me. I like that in
matchup wise Fleetwood minus one ten versusBurns Lahiri minus one twenty over Detree and
I'm taking Harry. You don't haveto take him somehow the top South African.

(45:37):
It's only a one in four forour guy bazoot and who plus one
ninety for the top South African. And I think of you when you say
anytime see their name every time,I'm like, mouth, So what does
your research tell you? Danielle?I know, I know you know,

(45:58):
not on the Draft Kings sports bookapp, but you love the Draft Kings
Fantasy app. And you're now you'rein with us. You love it.
You can't stop your can't do it. You know, I was even trying
to. I was actually kind ofupset and correct me if I was if
I'm wrong. I was like,wait a second, I was trying to
battle in Kentucky Derby last minute.I'm like adding money to my Draft King
sports book. I'm like, I'mlike looking at it each week, I'm

(46:21):
like, all right, we gotbasketball, we got golf, we got
all types of things going on.So you guys got me suckered in.
I'm spending way too much money, not winning enough yet until I figure it
out some more. So hopefully withboth you and Harry's advice, will we'll
flip that around this week. Ilove it, love it. Yeah,
we'll be checking out some of theseguys that, uh, you know that

(46:43):
that could be long shots. Obviouslywe're gonna be We're gonna be watching Braden
Um a lot going on, andit's it's it's Major Championship week. It's
wall to wall coverage. You getto see, you know, behind the
scenes of players courses. It justis it's different, right, it is,
no matter which major it is.Our golf outing limited limited spots remaining.
Um, yeah, as we said, we had mall Chevy. We'll

(47:06):
have details on the on the vehiclethat we'll be using for the hole in
one, but very limited spots remaining. So if you want to get in,
just check the link in some ofour posts and hop on in.
There might be even less. Ihad Brandon's one friend, Adam, he
was in our wedding. He messagedme and he goes, are you and
Brandon coming in for this? He'slike, it's on my birthday, so
thanks for organizing it. He's likealso, He's like, I'm going to
grab a four something for it.He's like, how come you didn't tell

(47:27):
me. I'm like, I postedon my Twitter, my Instagram, my
Facebook, like what do you wantto save the day in the mail?
Yeah, looking forward to it.Harry, what's up with you in the
in the game of golf. Ihaven't talked about your games. You know.
Obviously you were in Florida playing alittle bit down there help him with
that with your mom. That wasa lot of fun. Yeah, But
we're you know, we're back uphere in the Northeast now. I'm starting

(47:49):
in the Thursday Night League at thenineteen twelve Club tomorrow night. Nice a
little nine whole weekue, and thenI'll be watching a lot of golf this
weekend. I don't know how muchgolf I'm going to get to be played,
because I'm really dialed in on this. You know, the major championships.
Yeah, I played in the inthe AGS Tour event um at white
manor so much fun. I meanthat course is a beast by the way.

(48:12):
That is so much fun, itreally is. I mean, they're
doing incredible stuff. They have someThey had our guy hung from Golf and
Gaming Club who was oh yeah, yeah, yeah, him and some of
his him and some of his influencerswhere were in, which was really cool
to see some of those guys play. Some of those guys can really play
um and gals um. Not thatgreat, you know, but it was.

(48:35):
It was. It was match play, so it was. It was
a tight match until yeah, theyclosed, until it wasn't But great to
be a part of great to bea part of it. Still so much
more untill it ended four and three. I think you're right. I think
you're right. It was my ownfault because I set my foursome. I
didn't realize my one buddy, AnthonyFascatto, plays this course four times a

(48:58):
year. I put him with myother buddy and I played with guy Mike
from my club. We had ablast, don't get me wrong, but
I didn't know he had those.Yeah, he popped that on me as
we were like pulling the card upto one you know. That's why I'm
upset. I mean at the LegacyClub, you played that how many times
my worth We've never played. It'sa different cross for me anytimes. Group,

(49:21):
anytime you want to play in thepractice round, come on up.
I might have to come up likea month early. Yeah, got a
scar bedroom for me. The LegacyClub is I've stopped by yesterday to hit
some balls in Tito's. That Tito'svodka outing was going on. Oh nice,
man. I should have slid intothis, Harry, Harry should have
been in the face of that one. A couple of packs of those airplane

(49:45):
balls. That's right, that's right. Go for the course, Yes,
and props to Steve Stricker won theSenior Major over the weekend twenty three underparts,
his fifth Senior Major title and histhird time that he's won this tradition
two in a row, I believe, in three overall since turning fifty.
He birdied the first three holes, never looked back, and won by six

(50:07):
shots, which is I think thesecond time that he's won this tournament by
six shots. Ernie Els had abig weekend until you know, until he
hit the weekend, until he didn'tand also I don't know if you caught
any of this. I did becausethe golf course is a favorite of mine.
The Upper Montclair Country Club is anA. W. Tillinghast design in

(50:29):
North Jersey. Well, they hostedthe women the LPGA, and my girl
Jin Young co won in a playoffover Minji Lee at the Founders Cup.
That golf course, it's it's similarto an oak kill. I mean,
it's just gorgeous. Yeah, howabout if I butcher this? I'm sorry.
I overheard that Stricker is going tomiss one of the playoff matches,

(50:50):
one of the playoff tournaments because hehas a hunting trip that he does every
year and he doesn't want to missit. Yeah, but he might have
enough points I guess where he couldstill skip it and play. But like
himagine, yeah, imagine how muchyou must love that trip to give up,
you know, for what you dofor a living. I guess at
this point it's like, yeah,Steve Stricker, he's not he's got enough
money, not dying on. Everyonegoing, I'm going, that's right,

(51:13):
that's right. Well, thank youguys, thank you to Brandon. We'll
