welcome to Swing It and Ding Itand iHeartMedia podcast. This is Moose along
with Maize and Matthews, and weare presented by Draftking Sports Book. We
will see the line for two tournamentsthis week and Harry, it's a bonus
I don't have if the bonus notdepends on our picks. And of course
(00:48):
our friends from all Chevrolet. Whenwe finally talk, we've been talking about
our outing for so long, butit's actually here and we'll be able to
talk about the hold in one fora Silverado a little bit. But you
know, sometimes in the game ofgolf, you need to get people of
a committee or a group and youneed to get to the bottom of things
right, And we saw that todayin the game of golf, and it's
really what we're trying to do todaywith the Slouches, right, we need
(01:11):
to get to the bottom. Weare joined by Bill and Silvio, one
of the greatest follows if you area golf fan like us on Instagram at
the Slouches and shrouded in mystery toa degree, but incredible photos. Um.
Looks like you guys have a blastplaying some incredible courses. So we're
very excited to get a chance totalk to you. Welcome to swing it
(01:33):
and dig it. Guys, Thanksfor having us. I hope this is
less stressful in the congressional hearings. But we did too. Did what a
wild day in the game of golf. I mean some of the stuff that
came up. I was watching alittle bit. I was people were trying
to have meetings with me and I'mstaring that I'm on a team scream and
my eyes are up here watching, you know, Senator Paul give his soliloquy
and all these other guys, butjust absolutely well. But guys, it
(01:57):
looks like, you know, Ilove to just get a little bit of
the history. There's seven of youguys. It seems started the Instagram page
back in twenty seventeen, but justtalk about you know, what was the
genesis of that sure I can?I can kind of pick up the ball
with that Shotzi has kind of takenthe mantle to the Instagram account. But
before the Instagram account started, wewere just a couple of guys on a
(02:21):
tex thread and it started with fouror five of us actually grew up playing
and caddying at Tarsdale Frankfort Country Club, which is now the Union League at
Tarsdale, So we kind of allknew each other from junior golf. Bill
went to Saint Joe's Prep and fourof the other slouches went to Holy Ghost
Preps. So we kind of grewup playing with each other in high school
(02:43):
and then we went to went ourseparate ways when college started. Some of
the guys you know, played alittle bit through college. I played a
little bit Saint Joe's and then wekind of lost a little bit of touch.
And then, you know, afterundergrad I think a couple of us
kind of put the clubs down, like I know, like I stopped playing
for a little while, just kindof had a love loss with the game
and then you know, probably byour mid to late twenties, we kind
(03:06):
of realized that we missed playing golfwith each other, so we kind of
got back in touch. And atthat point in time, I don't really
think anybody kind of had a membershipanywhere. So we were just going out
and playing at Cobbs Creek and WalnutLane and Jeffersonville, and you know,
it was kind of like we werekids again, and we just remembered how
much we love spending time with eachother and playing golf and just what golf
(03:28):
meant to us and spending time outthere on the golf course. So you
know, after like a summer ortwo, we're like, oh, we
kind of you know, we're gonnastick with this. So this text message
thread started and that was just ayou know, every weekend, like if
anybody's looking for a game, theseare the guys you're going to talk to.
And then from there, you know, we brought in some other friends
that we had a friend of minefrom from sat Chose who actually ended up
(03:50):
transfering to Tampa to play some golf, and another buddy of ours from some
of the PPGA events in the area, and as of right now, you
know, we have seven member crew, so it's a pretty elite, elite
group, exclusive, exclusive and sometangential guys who we also you know,
reach out to every now and againto get in some games on the weekends.
(04:13):
But yeah, I mean, onthe whole, we're just childhood friends
who grew up playing golf and andreally kind of remember just just the great
times that we had as kids andtrying to kind of you know, find
that, uh in our in ouryears pushing pushing forty now. So that
was kind of the start of it. And then Bill had, you know,
the tech savvy to start this Instagramaccount, and he's really taken on,
(04:34):
taken on that or with you know, taking some great pictures and posting
some pics with some some catchy phrases. Yeah, I love the phrasing,
a lot of grateful dead references.Jimi Hendrix I think was the latest one
with a little Red House nod toRed House. And yeah, it's great,
great stuff. But I gotta sayit's just like Jimmy Dunn told Congress
(04:54):
today, it's hard to dislike someoneyou play golf with. I thought that
was a great, a great quotefrom Jimmy today, and It's so true.
You talk about, you know, how long you guys have been together
growing up playing the game, andyou know what started the whole thing about,
you know, wanting to make itabout the places you've been and not
(05:15):
you guys, because I know that'sone thing about the Instagram account. It's
about the golf courses. And butyou know, the architecture. I can
tell you guys are kind of architecturenerds like I am, so talk about
that a little bit. Yeah, sure, I think, um, golf
course architecture has been something that I'vejust been interested in for I mean,
I guess seventeen eighteen years, goingback to when I was in high school.
(05:40):
You know, we were lucky. We kind of grew up playing and
looping at a Donald Ross course andso you know, I had my best
friend growing up played at Manufacturers andthat was a William Flynn and so that
got me, you know, interestedin him. And so you know,
if you look on the Golf Associateswebsite that you know pretty much every area
(06:02):
club is a member of the GAP. There's the member club directory and each
member club has a history part oftheir club page, and those are taken
out of a book written in nineteenninety six by Jim Finnigan, who is
(06:23):
actually my golf coaches father and avery famous golf author. He wrote books
about traveling to Scotland. He alsowrote not the most recent, but he
wrote basically the book on Pine Valleyfrom the I guess probably the early two
thousands, but anyway, those weretaken from his book nineteen ninety six,
(06:44):
A Centennial History and Celebration of Golfin Philadelphia. And so I would I
remember, I'd be in high schoolon my you know, dial up modem,
just reading all these club history pages, learning about all the different architects
and you know, what the membershipdid to their courses and just forming the
club and changes they did to thecourse. And so that kind of led
(07:06):
me to another website called Golf ClubAtlas, which is another repository of golf
courses in golf architecture literature online. This is all really free. You don't
need a membership or you know,a subscription to read any of this.
(07:26):
And so that just really piqued aninterest in high school and certainly in college.
Again. You know, I didn'treally get into it as much,
but and I was going through schoolbut uh, you know, eventually I've
kind of gotten very much back intoit, and it's a shared interest with
the rest of the Slouches, includingyou know, as you mentioned the Dead,
(07:46):
we're all pretty much deadheads and enjoythe Almond Brothers and some good jam
bands and classic rock as well.So it's just, as you mentioned,
kind of a shared interest and kindof ties us all together. And it's
funny when you know, we usuallydon't even run some of the posts by
each other, and you know someonewill catch it and say, oh man,
(08:09):
that that was perfect, or youknow, hey, for next year
for the July you know, usethis song by the Dead, you know,
not just just putting it in ouryou know, our portfolio for us
blues. Totally. Yeah, wetook our friend Toto pointed out that Jack
Straw would be a good one nextyear, so you might see that coming
(08:30):
in, you know, three hundredand sixty days or something. Well,
I have to know where did thename the Slouches come from? Where,
Like, I know, a bunchof guys, a bunch of friends growing
up together. But it's a caddyshackreference, isn't it is that where it
came from? It is a Caddyshackreference. And if if Slouch's history is
correct in shots me, you cantell me if I'm wrong. I think
(08:50):
it was our friend Matt Toto whocame up with the name in the midst
of a of a text thread. But yes, it is. It is
a Caddyshack reference to Uh, Iguess Cheffy his line when he tells Judge
Schmeils not to sell himself short becausehe's a tremendous tremendous right, So now
you say that. Yeah, Sothat's that's where that came from. And
(09:11):
the acro shot these points on thegolf course architecture in club history, I
think coming from from from Tarsdale, which was a ross design from eighteen ninety
six. We kind of always hadan eye on that, and iye on
the history of the game of golfin Philadelphia, and I think right around
the time that we started to kindof get back into things there there was
this confluence of you know, golfcourse architecture kind of coming to the forefront.
(09:35):
You know, you had people,uh like the like Andy over at
the Friday Egg and the guy's doingthe shotgun start and the golfer's journal coming
out and it was just a momentthat really kind of captured our attention and
really had just a lot of alot of information out there that we can
kind of pick up on, um, you know, Tom Coin's books or
a fan favored bars as well.So just you know, just just focusing
(09:58):
on that and really being able todive into it. And I I think,
at least for me, you know, I kind of got to a
point where I realized I wasn't reallythat good at golf. So instead of
getting frustrated about how how bad I'dbe playing, it was something else to
focus on, you know, tokind of look at a look at a
golf all and say, oh,this is what you know, this is
the question that's being asked of us, and this is what the architect's looking
for. And then to also diveinto club history was always a fun thing
(10:18):
to kind of keep in mind throughoutthe course of around nice. Now you
got you said, there's seven ofyou guys. How often is it all
seven of you? And seven isnot the greatest number to have for a
group? Do you get stuck withthat single every now and then? Now,
I'd say, we we have adeep enough, you know, second
farm system you know farm system minorleague team where we can draw on people.
(10:41):
Um, last year we did atrip down to Pinehurst where we play
our good friend Ryan, his brotherand his friends from high school who grow
all grew up in Long Island. That's called the Turnpike tussle. And someone
someone had to bail on like threedays notice. And sure enough we found
someone to come to Pinehurst with us, like, drop everything, book a
(11:07):
flight, Uh, stay in thislike renovated cathedral right next to the resort
for three long, very long nights. So you know, we've got a
good group. As far as allof us getting out at the same time,
that's what we would we commonly referto as a full slouching. The
(11:28):
stars really need to be aligned asfar as work calendars, vacation calendars.
Uh, you know, significant othersbeing willing to put up with it.
But now it does happen at thevery minimum. Every Thanksgiving on you know,
Black Friday, we do the turkey. Uh can we curse on here?
(11:52):
I don't know. Yeah, theturkey is open. Uh you know
switches. I guess dates back towhat uh still was that twenty fifteen when
we first the first one. Ithink yeah, I think it was fourteen.
It might have been fourteen. Itwas probably what maybe pushing forty five
degrees if that, oh man.But yeah, once we got that one
(12:13):
under our belts, we said,we're gonna you know, we we we
do that every year and uh,we're we're short, I mean, and
you know, God bless our wivesgenerally that they actually let us get out
of the house and play golf. But yeah, we we we let them
know that's on the calendar that's markedevery year. Uh, that's they're will
aware of that. But yeah, all official slouchings are hard to come by
(12:35):
with a bunch of guys in theirlate thirties who have you know, kids
and all the other responsibilities that comealong with family and work. So but
we try to get together when wecan. Is there any merch in the
offing from for the slouches. We'vewe've talked about it um and even last
year we had initial calls with someoneto kind of mock up some logos for
(12:58):
us UM and unfortunately we really justhaven't followed up. We've been too busy
playing golf and sticking with our dayjobs to really take the next step.
But yeah, no, I meanit's certainly something we've talked about, uh
and spitballed, but it's kind ofyou know, it's one thing, one
thing at a time, but itwould be great to put some together.
(13:22):
Um and uh, I guess thedemand is there if you're asking about it,
Harry, try to find something atleast for for the swinging and ding
a crew at the very least wellreciprocate. Yeah, we've got some stuff.
Yeah, there you go. Soare there any money games that go
on when you guys play? Oris it just all fun and you know,
(13:43):
is they're drinking involved? Is doyou guys play music while you play?
What's a typical round all of theabove, i'd say, and not
to you know, bring up asore subject, But we don't. We
want to beat each other so bad. We don't even have to play for
money that Um, it's really justabout you know, who wins. We
(14:03):
we ninety percent of the time.We usually play better ball matches. Um.
Stableford very unpopular game in the group. Controversies abound whenever we play Stableford,
but usually it's just your standard uh, you know, Nassau front back
overall better ball match and auto pressnot even presses we usually just played kind
(14:28):
of like gap match format. Yeah, well, presses don't matter because we're
not playing for money, so youknow who's gonna win or you know,
maybe we'll have but no, Imean still we ripped thirty six a couple
weekends ago. We played Redding inthe morning. H great track up obviously
(14:48):
just south of Redding, Alexander Finlaydesign very historic Byron Byron Nelsons. Yeah,
he was the pro you still walkin his pro shop. I got
a great pick of still outside ofit um and but open to the public
too, was like fifty bucks forus to play. And so we played
that in the morning, hit Jayvilon the way back. Silvio and our
(15:09):
buddy Dan one in the morning andthen wanted a rematch in the afternoon and
still went down and he's still sopissed about it, like two weeks later.
Uh So, you know, Idon't want to rub it in,
but I kind of do. Yeah, you do. It's it's it's a
source of subject. Our buddy turnedit on at the end. He probably
makes a fifteen to twenty footer onsixteen for Bertie and then seventeen at Jeffersonville,
(15:33):
now, which I guess is theold fourteen or fifteen the part it's
like a two hundred yard part threehe hits like a choke down five wood
and hits the stick. Uh,and that was That was about good night
for us. But but yeah,on the on the money front, there's
a running joke for me, atleast, I feel like every time we
play, we all look at eachother, we say five dollars Nassau on
the first team, but then nobodyactually ever ends up exchange. Um.
(15:58):
But sometimes yeah, sometimes losers willbuy I buy a round after the after
the match. But on the whole, yeah, matches are generally pretty casual.
We're playing music the whole time andprobably having a transfusion at the turn
or a beer and just kind ofhanging and spending time together. So guys,
you know, obviously played locally, but you've you've played everywhere. Um,
(16:21):
is there any place that kind ofreally surprised you that that either was
you know, a little bit understatedand turned out to be incredible or was
already touted as an incredible course butstill blew you away. I'd say recently,
Um, I went up to Scrantonand played the country club to Scranton,
(16:41):
which is a Walter Travis design.UM familiar with it, but no,
that was one where after I'd readabout it for you know, several
years and finally got to see it. And I mean they might have the
best greens I've seen in Pennsylvania.UM, just those complexes with all the
(17:03):
different undulation and how like not.I don't think two greens on that UM
their old course, you know, are the same. UM. And you
know you keep seeing different green greencomplexes that really just blew me away.
UM. And that's kind of turnedbeyond to somewhat of a Walter Travis kick
(17:23):
recently, where I'm trying to um, you know, play as many of
his courses as I can, whichhe hasn't really done that much at least
in Pennsylvania, UM or nothing aroundPhiladelphia other than you know, Scranton,
which is still pretty far away. But this year, I know a few
of us went out to Hollywood,UM, out in Deal, New Jersey,
(17:45):
which is another Travis course, andI mean we had we just had
a blast there. It was thethe greens were just as good as Scranton,
and you know, the bunkering wasout of this world. UM.
And we just really really had agood time. So I'd say, you
know those two Walter Travis courses. You know, I want to get up
to Cape Arundel, which is likeway up in Maine, but it's totally
(18:07):
public and he designed it and basedon videos and what I've read, it
looks amazing. So maybe I convincethe Boss to go up to Maine to
do a little bit of vacation atsome point. How many Seth reigners have
you guys knocked down? So youknow, I, well, I've had
I've been lucky enough from village enough. I got out to National a few
(18:29):
years ago and that was probably oneof, you know, the favorite rounds
of golf I've ever played. Andthen we got up the public track in
North Jersey shots I'm blanking on thename right now, Rock Spring, Yes,
which was awesome. Have you everhad the chance to head up there.
I think it's one of the fewpublic reigners in the country and they've
had it. They've done a reallygood job kind of bringing that back from
(18:51):
the brink, and I know theyhave preference for I guess County residents on
two times, but we kind ofwe gave a call to the pro maybe
two weeks before coming up telling himwe were coming up from Philly, you
know, to play there, andhe was pretty accommodating. So yeah,
Rock Spring was was fantastic. Um, have you ever been turned down when
(19:11):
you let them know that you're comingfrom Philly? Luckily it wasn't our football
season, so yeah, I guess. So. Remember we also went up
to Yale for that tournament I gotthat was twenty seventeen. I still have
like the towel they gave us.Um, but that was that was a
(19:32):
fun trip. Yeah, we played. Yeah, we stayed Friday night in
a motel six outside of New Havenand you know, three of us in
a two bed room and uh wokeup the next day and like walked Yale,
which is a massive property. Um. And so that was that was
a real fun You sound like thecaddy tails moose. Any of these guys
(19:55):
bunking out and you know, betwo beds for five six guys sounds great.
We'll do whatever it takes, youknow, wherever, wherever the good
golf takes us. Uh, andwe're definitely gonna come home with some memories
about the shots we hit and youknow, just the good times together.
So what are some bucket list courses? If we could say you could go
anywhere tomorrow, what would be yourbucket list course? I'd probably say Cypress
(20:19):
Point. Uh, that's kind ofan obvious reference. But yeah, you
know, I haven't really spent alot of time out west either, so
it'd be nice to kind of getout there and play that one. I
would say Baltis Rawl in Jersey, either the Upper or the Lower. I
first, I've walked the lower becauseI went to the two thousand and five
(20:42):
PG. Yeah, that Nicholson wonin the playoffs. I was there the
Sunday when it got called and everyonekind of had to rush to the shuttles
or the cars wherever we parked. But now, I mean, that's just
one that's always been, you know, since walking in especially since I hands
totally redid the lower course recently.UM which actually that's where the KPMG was,
(21:06):
UM, where the women played.I watched a bunch of that and
that was actually a really really coolfinish, UM just getting to see the
holes as well as UM all thekind of UM. There was a lot
of bogies made on that seventeenth hold. They were just snaphooking it into that
bond and uh, you know thatyou thought they were going to yeah,
(21:26):
five finish if I remember right?Five five? Yeah, so that they
kept hitting in the water, whichyou know, I wonder if there was
a huge rough there before and youknow, whether they took that out and
the water came way more into playit. But yeah, that would be
a good one to check out forsure. Yeah. Well, so bild
hands for a second there. Isaw that on your Instagram. You guys
(21:48):
went down to the park recently onyour Muni Madness trip. What did you
think about that? That's in myneck of the woods obviously from Philly,
but I'm down in Jupiter now.So the park was I followed the whole
design and everything of that, umand went went down so from groundbreaking all
the way through. How do youguys like playing that? Yeah? That
was our friend Rob aka Boca BobBoca Bob he cutlets um who was down
(22:12):
there a couple of weeks ago,and he loved it. Um. I
know they did awesome things with notjust the course but also putting in the
putting course and you know a ninehole part three um, and just the
fact that that's a Muni is unbelievable. Um, it's so awesome that Gil
and Jim Wagner were able to youknow, dedicate their time I'm sure on
(22:36):
a very very reduced, if notpro bono basis, UM and just you
know, give that to the community. So UM, I usually go down
to that area every other October, and so that's definitely on our list to
check out um this coming of Octoberto see the work ourselves. Be Rob
absolutely loved it. So yeah,he didn't. And you know, I
(22:59):
think to your point shots about that, it certainly seems like it could be
a template for Cobbs Creek. Sowe're hoping that, uh yeah, they
kind of pick up on some ofthose things when when doing the run out
of there. We're supposed to havethe super on next week, next Wednesday,
So looking forward to hearing a littlebit more about that for sure.
So I am fortunate enough once asummer to get up to the Hamptons and
have played some great courses up there. Just curious if you had to pick
(23:22):
the courses in the Hamptons or thePhiladelphia area courses. I know you're probably
a little bias right because you're Philly, but but what would you say if
you had to just play those courses, maybe for a week straight, what
would you prefer. Still, you'veplayed more than me up there, so
I gotta I gotta let you takethis one. I know it's a really
(23:44):
hard question, but I'm from Philadelphia. I've born are raised here. I've
taken the philip courses over the NewYork course. Wow, any day of
the week. I don't know ifdeep down I actually believe that. No,
I don't. I for one,do not leave you. If you
followed DJ Kala this week, hegot a pretty good tour of the Hampton's
golf courses. Because our New Yorkconnections have been have been really gracious,
(24:08):
and we've had a chance to playyou know, I said, I said
Nationale. We got out to Maidstoneand a couple of years ago we played
Friar's Head. Was absolutely excellent.Um, you know, there's some other
ones up there that we got toget up to. But yeah, we've
been really fortunate to kind of getto play some places up there, and
you know, it's just the landjust's so different, So they're really comparing
apples and oranges. Yeah, butyou know, I think on the whole
(24:30):
it's it's it's a really, it'sa coin flip, it's it's a it's
a tough matchup. Well, noneof those go ahead, go ahead.
One of the just that one ofthe funniest things I think I've ever researched
as part of the account and SethRayner actually who asked about earlier, was
that at one time he served onthe Southampton Sidewalk Commission. Given his background
(24:52):
and engineer, this guy who hasyou know, just been one of the
best golf golf course architects of alltime him. Um, the fact that
that was his job at one pointis just you know, unbelievable to men.
So, you know, I definitelywant to check out those sidewalks next
time I'm in Southampton to see whatkind of templates he was working with,
and make sure you check out ourfriend links gems. John Cavalier just came
(25:15):
out with The Golf Courses of SethRayner, new book that just came out.
We're gonna have to have John backon and talk about that. That
looks really cool. Yeah, definitely, Well, I know most of us
have experience and an affection for alocal course here Lulu, um, I
know you guys get out there everyonce in a while. We got we
got to meet over there sometime andplay around. I'd love it, man,
that'd be great. Yeah yeah,John John and Company has done a
(25:37):
fantastic job there and uh, youknow, it's just uh it's a great
hang. It's a great golf courseand we really enjoy, you know,
getting out over there. Yeah,it's a ton of fun. I'm at
the Legacy Club. So I sawsome pictures at the Legacy Club earlier as
someone a member there. Still,Yeah, it's broke Bobby. We need
the roster on Instagram. I needand I need to associate these with with
(26:00):
faces for everybody wants to know theseguys, connect me, connect me with
Bok Bobby. When you guys doyour trip to see Boka Bobby, let
me know. Well no, yeah, no, I uh Woodcrest, Uh
we play over there a bunch andI know that's where you guys got the
outing next week. Um No.I was just thinking about that course and
(26:23):
how great the routing is. Umwith because Flynn I think was one of
the best at just routing golf courses, which we haven't played it this year.
It'll blow you away with that already. It's incredible. Yeah, and
you know you think about um likethat, what's the long part three on
the back thirteen? Um. Youknow, most people might just think,
(26:45):
oh, you know, it's along part three, it's a blind shot.
They might not like it too much. But when you think the uphill
one right up dead uphill at theclubhouse, you can't really see the bottom
of the pin. There's bunkers everywhere. You're hitting a long arm. Most
people aren't gonna like that hole. But if you if you think about a
little more with why Flynn might havehad that hole there, you know,
(27:06):
you play tens and nice. Partfour. Eleven's a nice, Part five,
twelve's really hard. Part four. All of a sudden, he's got
to get you back up to theclubhouse because that fourteenth hole is one of
the best there, especially with thework you guys have done, And so
that thirteen really just kind of connectsthat whole ten, eleven, twelve,
(27:26):
then thirteen bumps you back up andnow you're looking out over the whole golf
course again, and it's really greatto see the work there. And that's
something a lot of the golf coursearchitects did which was kind of use a
long part three to bridge certain holesso that you know, get get the
golfer not just from A to B, but from A to B to see
and Flynn was really, really oneof the best at that. And so
(27:48):
when when your listeners are playing itnext week, think about the thirteenth hole
and how you go from twelve andall of a sudden you play fourteen and
you know that's our mall Chevrolet holein one holes, right, And that's
a tough one to get. Ibarely hit the green usually. Well,
the insurance companies always wanted to bea pretty hard hole. Yeah, yeah,
but yeah, the lan family hasdone an incredible job already and uh
(28:11):
you know they're they're doing the pavingtoday and the plans that they have for
the future. It's it's a reallyspecial place and happy I call it home
home base, and excited to showit off on Monday, and glad that
you guys experience it well as well. Oh yeah, well this was fun.
Yeah, Harry, thanks for connectingus. We've been following you guys
for a while and following along andjealous at times, like man, where
(28:36):
are they now? But really coolto see and connect with other people that
are that love the game and lovethe architecture like we do. So I
appreciate you guys coming on. Ohwe love sharing it with everyone, uh,
and so glad that you guys enjoyit. Um. Just the fact
that you guys even know who weare is really flattering for us, you
(28:56):
know, from our desk, justposting some pictures of the course from where
we played over the weekend. Butthanks so much for having us on.
Really yeah, a ton of fun. Thanks for having us, and hopefully
we'll get out sooner than later.Yeah, man, that sounds good.
Thank you guys. All right,we'll take a quick break and we'll be
right back. Welcome back to swingIt and ding It. As we concluded
(29:17):
our quick little interview with slouches Harry, they came out of the shadows and
revealed themselves. So it's a bigmoment in the golf world, right,
seven of them, Right, Yeah, it really really was. I've actually
played yeah Boca Bob, you needto get to meet him, Moose and
Daniel, I've played actually with Shotsy. I played some golf with Bill,
(29:37):
so he's the only one that Ireally knew. But then some of my
other guys that I know you know, New Sylvia. So it's like it's
really that's the funny thing. AndMoose you talk about it all the time,
like the the interweb of connections thatyou make through the game of golf.
It just it just keeps growing andgrowing and growing. It really does.
And a great quote from Jimmy Dunetoday, Harry, I'm glad to
get that. I was. Iwas looking it up as you said it.
(30:00):
So that's awesome. I love itwell perfect. Even the intro I
was like, I thought we weregetting right into it. I was like,
oh, we're going right in.But how about sep Straka guys,
John Dear Classic, He cards acareer low nine hunder sixty two, which
was a disappointment in the end, right for his second career win because of
you know, the double boogie oneighteen, which we'll talk about, but
(30:22):
shoots at twenty eight on the front. Thirty year old Austrian who played in
played at Georgia moves up to numbertwenty seven and official World Golf rankings,
And uh, it was it wasa wild, a wild start. You
had a wild finish really the final, the final round, you had twelve
players within three shots of Brendan Todd'slead and Sep was not one of them,
so you had all these other guysand then he just goes off.
(30:45):
Yeah, I think he shot twentyeight on the front nine. Eight think,
and you're starting to think, man, this guy could shoot fifty nine
and it's been done at that golfcourse before, and you know, so
I'm like, man, I wasdialed in on this. Oh yeah,
and then you're like, you know, he's he's got the lead in the
tournament, but he's way ahead ofthose guys by like an hour or two,
(31:06):
so you know, there's still alot of golf to play. So
he had to keep his foot onthe accelerator. He's trying to break sixty.
And then all of a sudden youget to the seventeenth, which is
the par five. You're thinking, well, he's got to make birdie here,
like this is where it has tohappen. He doesn't make birdie,
makes par, and then on eighteen, like you mentioned, Moosey makes double,
puts it in the water, andyou're like, oh my god,
(31:26):
not only did he not break sixty, he might have just blown the tournament
because one of these other guys couldnow catch him. It was. It
was pretty incredible. It really was. Harry. We got to know you
tweeted to Sir Nick Faudo that ifseven one you were gonna shoot sub sixty,
you were gonna buy a pair ofsquares. So that didn't happen,
(31:47):
but there's still contemplating buying the square. I am because I've actually there's a
couple of guys at my club andI've played with Ryan Ballenie wears him all
the time, who's been on theshow, and I played with him,
he was wearing him. Everybody thatI've met wears them, loves them,
and I just, you know,I'm not getting in any endorsement, but
that's what I talked to you.I interview people about this kind of stuff,
and I'm like, they all swearby him, so you know,
(32:10):
there may be something. We've hadconversations. Yeah, they've fallen off a
little bit, but it's time touh we gotta get Slash to get back
on that. Props Nick for gettingback to me. Yeah, yeah,
me too. How about your boylud vague hair. He's showing he's showing
out at these tournaments, is henot? He gets a four here?
(32:32):
Yeah? I mean he's got allkinds of game. Man. I'll tell
you. He fell apart the weekendbefore on the weekend and you know,
made the Cup but then kind ofdisappeared. But but in this tournament,
you know, a little bit lesserof a field. Uh, you know,
he stayed strong and he's he's goingto be a guy that people are
gonna be watching these next two weeksover over in Scotland and England. Oh
(32:52):
yeah, it feels like half theguys were T six right. Yeah.
Grayson Murray who's uh as Roy toldhim to play better and he's listening to
him. Cam Young who was thefavorite. Even Denny McCarthy, who we
talked about with I thought he hada really good shot all in that T
six crazy crazy. Yeah, itwas one of those It was one of
those tournaments that it turned into areally fun one to watch because there were
(33:14):
so many guys in contention and thenwhen you have a guy going off like
that, it really piques your interestand makes you want to watch that and
see how guys handle that kind ofpressure. Um. You know, he
was quoted as saying he wasn't thinkingabout it, but then he said it
kind of he knew it was onhow I mean, how do you not
these guys know what they're scoring. You know, they're not like us,
they don't need to look at thecard. Well, the other thing too,
(33:36):
is the other guys playing, youknow, and maybe like the eighth
or the ninth hole, they're like, man, what is sep Straka doing?
He's like, where did this guycome from? All of a sudden,
you're like thinking you're in second andthird place, a couple of shots
out of the whole. All ofa sudden, this guy just rockets right
past you on the leaderboard. Yeah, it's got to make you when you're
starting that far behind him, like, man, I have to jump out,
(33:57):
birdie birdie here. Yeah, changechanges your whole mindset of like getting
into the round when a guy kindof goes off like that. But he
really did, and he you know, good for good for step and we'll
see it is the ton of ryderCup talk now and that's a name that
gets floated out there. You know, we saw Ricky Fowler who now is
in the conversation from last week, and you know, a little bit more
and more happening with some of theseguys. But how about the frat house
(34:21):
and maybe Danielle can shed some lighton this. Two years in a row
now at the John Deere the Winnerhas come from the frat House, which
is where a couple of guys allget together and bunk out in a house.
There was JT posting last year.Patton Kazires involved in this group,
Grayson Sigg, Danny McCarthy, BrendanTodd, Chris Kirk and Stroka. Two
(34:45):
years in a row, the fratHouse has produced the winner. Wow.
Unfortunately I can't shed any light onit. You just gave me as much
information as I've heard on that. No, but I mean like all the
people, like people getting together andliving, you know, taking the house
for a week down. It's likeyou're in a frat house situation right now.
Yeah. Yeah, So hopefully thatthat energy comes this way. I
(35:06):
thought I first mentioned, I thoughtyou were talking about like JT. Ricky
and then when they when they dospring Break, Oh yeah, well they're
over in Wimbledon now, all dressedup and the meame's going around thanks to
Rolex. Yes, yes, Iknew you'd catched that movie. Notice how
every picture they're basically like this. The one photo is literally shot down just
(35:30):
spring of the Rolex because I thinkthat great posts. Yeah yeah, but
this isn't it great? I lovethe John Dear Classic. I would love
to go to that one time, you know, um, but it always
sits in a kind of a strangeplace in the calendar. But it's hard
to get there too. I yeah, right, are you going out last
week? And I'm like, I'mnot taking two way overs to get the
Illinois Yeah? Yeah, yeah. But you know, the biggest news obviously
(35:53):
in the world of golf is whatbroke today and I have it on the
TV right now, watching it overand over again. Still kind of a
whole lot to do about nothing,But there were some juicy tidbits about some
of the framework agreement that came out. Um, just curious to get your
guys take how you thought, youknow, Ron Price and Jimmy Donn handled
it, how you thought that theCongress, the congressman uh handled it,
(36:15):
and what were the biggest takeaways foryou? Start with Danielle and then we'll
go to Harry. Sorry with me, Well, I mean, we were
obviously the banter and our our grouptext all the time with when when breaking
news happens, But for me.I mean, I was like reading through
everything and I'm like, wait asecond, So his majesty is now requesting
that he has a membership I gotwas that was it? I mean,
(36:36):
that was just amazing. He seemedlike his majesty is just like, I
have so much money and I'm justhe seems like a spoiled little kid who
says I want every toy, Momand Dad buy it for me. And
now he's like, I want torun golf. I want the PJA Championship
to be in sary green jacket.I want to play with everybody like I
want to play with all these playersI went Rory and Tiger to own a
(36:59):
team and run a team like it'sjust like it. It reminds me of
a spoiled little kids saying I wanta B and C. And that's like,
that's just what I felt today afterreading it. But in terms of
how Jimmy Dunn handled it, oneof the things that I like is that
the accountability and saying like there's nomerger, there's no deal is simply an
agreement to try to get an agreementand set all lawsuits, which is kind
(37:20):
of what we said in the beginningwhen this first came out, but he
acknowledged that that the parties did apoor job of explaining the deal and calling
the initial rollout very misleading and inaccurate. While you know, the sides still
have till the end of the yearto craft an agreement and formalize the alliance.
I like that Jimmy did say thatwe did a poor job. You
know, he took accountability with that, so I think he handled it pretty
(37:42):
well. Um. I like thatwe have a little bit more details,
but again, I just see itas what I already said. It's obviously
high. That Greg Norman thing waseveryone. Yeah, yeah, we don't
have a position like that anymore.Greg, So you're you're kind of out.
I can't be the assistant to theassistant manager. Sorry, he can't
(38:04):
do that right and send them upthere. I thought that both Ron Price
and Jimmy dunhandled themselves really, reallywell. That's got to be very intimidating,
you know, to be sitting there. You're first of all, you're
sitting down there up there, justjust the setup alone. It's like,
oh my god. It's like you'rea kid in school and you're looking up
at the principal or something, youknow, so, but I thought they
(38:27):
did a great job. I thoughtthe senators did a really good job of
pressing them on certain issues too.You know Holly, Senator Holly from Missouri,
he would not let the China thinggo. He went back to it
a second time because he didn't likethe answer that Ron Price gave him.
So I was impressed with that. You can just tell, you know,
by watching this. And I haven'twatched many hearings, okay, because I
(38:47):
frankly wasn't all that interested in thesubject matter. But this I watched all
three hours of this thing today orthree and a half whatever it was,
and you start to realize, likethese different senators. But first of all,
you had the chair, which wasBloomenthal, who was a Democrat from
Connecticut, and he was making itvery clear that he hopes the PGA turns
their back on the Saudi money likeit really he didn't. He doesn't want
(39:09):
any part of it quoted. Toavoid that. He urged them to avoid
this sellout, that this deal appearsto be yes. I mean, he
was pretty pretty blunt about, youknow, his thoughts. And then you
had Senator Johnson and Senator Paul whichbasically are saying that we're not really in
a position to tell these guys whatto do, which I thought was kind
of interesting. Senator Johnson was somuch in Jimmy Dunn's pocket. I think
(39:32):
he's basically got a free membership atSeminole out of the whole deal, no
matter what happens. I mean,he was basically parroting Jimmy Dunn's like answers.
It was shouting out Gary Woodland.Yeah, it was yeah, right,
that's shout out the but and thenyou had uh, you know,
well like you know, Senator Paulsaid the same thing. But I think
(39:52):
it's kind of interesting to see thesedifferent senators with their agendas and some are
a grandstanding, you know, becausethey they're trying to get up there and
be real tough on these guys foryou know, for their constituency and you
know, for their party, tosay, well, you really grilled those
golfer guys, you know, butin reality, what's really going to happen
out of it? Right, They'regonna do a deal if there's a deal
(40:13):
to be done. Yeah, therewas no review of Boeing selling a hundred
and some you know fighter jets, right, say so it is a little
bit strange. But what I tookfrom it was they really the PGA tour
felt incredibly backed into a corner. But then you start to think about it,
it's like, was that self inflicted? Like did they were was there
arrogance all along where they just kindof you know, the fact that they
(40:34):
just found these millions of dollars allof a sudden, like you really would
love to know more about that behindthe scenes, Like, yes, you
were in a horrible position, ina no win situation, but did you
put yourself there right? Did you? Could you have done things over the
past decade that could have prevented somethinglike this from happening? And I don't
know if we'll ever know those hincersunfortunately. Yeah, yeah, I don't
know that they ever anticipated that GregNorman would find the Saudi money, you
(40:58):
know, to to take the actsto grind that he had is now has
unlimited, unlimited funds, And Idon't know if they ever anticipated that.
But it's interesting to know that Greg'sout, Yeah, and when he was
such the such a big proponent andlived from the beginning. Now oh yeah,
sorry, we're going in a differentdirection. But like you said,
(41:20):
with the Boeing and everything else, and just even the United States doing deals
with Saudi Arabia, and there's people, there's photos anyways of family members of
the victims of nine to eleven sittingthere watching this hearing with baseball hats that
sat like nine to eleven Families ornine eleven Justice or something along those lines.
So there's definitely still the real, like human aspect of it too.
(41:42):
But it's funny that so much lightis being shed on the golf aspect of
it when it's really and weeds inso many other areas of life in general,
especially in the US, but golfis taking a harder look at it.
Yeah, it's a it's a verystrange thing, right. You know,
you hear the sports washing all thetime, and you know that that's
there, But then part of youthinks, like, well, if we
(42:02):
just continue going down that road, well, we always have enemies, right,
Could things like this actually change myhearts and minds and culture, um,
by including any game that we alllove? I don't know, right,
is that what happens? Yeah?Yeah, I mean I don't know
if that's the intention right from theother side, We don't really know what
the true intention is um, butcould you know, could that be an
(42:27):
outcome that that just happens naturally.Um, we will see, because I
don't think it's going anywhere. Itcertainly seems like this is a framework agreement
will turn into an actual agreement. What that means as far as the team
aspect. And you know Tiger andRory, I love how like Tigers name
starting out all the time, he'snot even involved in this conversations. Use
him as a bargaining ship, rightlike Rory being he couldn't be more clear.
And I think it was quote unquoteI hate Live and so to come
(42:52):
out today saying, you know, met with them, and they met with
the asser, played golf with themoff right like months ago and Tiger Woods
and Rory being given ownership of Liveteams and it's just you know, it
was a three weeks hego where he'slike, I hate Live no way.
Yeah, it's just interesting. SoI couldn't Why couldn't his excellency be a
(43:14):
baseball fan instead of a golf fan, you know, just by major League
Baseball leave golf alone. Yeah,I mean they do have from what I've
heard from others, at least isthat, you know, they there is
aught any money in women's golf andin baseball, and definitely in soccer and
and now the soccer a big time. Yeah yeah, But speaking of women's
golf, that's a great segue becausethe US Women's Open was tremendous. I
(43:37):
mean, anytime you get to watchgolf on pebble Beach at you know,
a pebble beach, it's it's somethingyou had to tune in for great ratings.
They had some of the highest viewershipever and Harry, I know you
follow along probably more than most andit was just an impressive, impressive golf.
Nellie not Nellie cor I'm sorry wetalked about Nellie, but Charlie Hall
with an incredible quote and some reallyaggressive um just a just a great week
(44:01):
in pebble Shy kids don't get sweetsmooth. We need to have we need
to have that on a swing itand ding a shirt at some point.
That was such a great quote andshe gave it her all. Man.
She that was really exciting watching her. You know, I like watching her
play golf. I'd like, youknow, i'd watch her, you know,
knit pretty much do anything. Tobe honest with you, but Yeah,
(44:22):
Alison Corpoos though what a week shehad. I mean she was she
was broke par each day. Shewas the only player in the in the
field that broke par each day, finished nine under with a three shot win.
How great that must be to walkup that eighteenth hole knowing that you
really can't lose the tournament. Imean unless you put it in the ocean
twice, There's there's no way you'relosing the tournament. That had to be
(44:45):
the you know, one of thetalking about one of the greatest walks in
golf. They always say the OpenChampionship. You're walking down that eighteenth fold
of the Grand Stags and you havea big lead and you can't below.
It's gotta be awesome. But yeah, she won over Charlie Hall and Ga
Shin. But I I gotta sayRosang finished top ten and played well.
But most of these other other Americangirls disappointed. I mean Nellie Korda,
(45:07):
Lexi Thompson, a lot of theseother girls were. They were not to
be found. Of course, that'lleat you up. Yeah, But but
it was interesting though, because itplayed the way people like us would play
it like. It was set aroundsixty five hundred yards and they had irons
and clubs into these holes. Likeif Moose and Danielle and we went out
(45:29):
there and played it, we'd beplaying similar shots, in which I thought
was cool because we see these men, we can't hit these you know,
they're driving at three twenty three thirtyand they've got eight iron in you know.
It's like I'd be hitting a fiveiron, you know or whatever.
So it's not I can't relate toit, but I could relate to watching
them play pebble beach. Yeah, that is a cool perspective. I didn't
think about it like that. Yeah. And how about you see Sahath tha
(45:52):
Gala's dad. Everyone's like, isthat Tha Gala's dad out celebrating on the
you know, with the winner. And it turns out sa Heath and here
were friends. They played like juniorgolf, I guess, and the two
of them, Yeah, from sixyears old. It was yeah, cool
because he was like a big starin Full Swing and the Netflix show.
So people are like, wait aminute, is that what the heck's he
doing out there? Yeah? Well, and the other thing is Corpus went
(46:15):
to the same high school apparently asum Oh Michelle we in Hawaii and apparently
was like four or five years oldwhen Michelle we played in the scene the
sony opened the men's event in Hawaii, and there's a lot being made that
might that might have been the influencethat got her interested in golf. It
(46:36):
was kind of a cool connection andMichelle we played her last tournament this weekend.
Really cool. Yeah, I thinkthat's neat that almost like because you
really don't see that in golf,at least in men's professional golf. Like
you'll go to the Champions Tour, then they just start shooting higher and higher
numbers and eventually fade out. LikeI thought, it was really cool how
the broadcast did it and kind oflike the sizzle reel if you will,
(46:58):
of Michelle's career from being a younggirl all the way through and having it
her last event and actually retiring.I thought it was pretty cool because I
don't really remember the last time wesaw retirement in golf, if you will.
Yeah, yeah, it was tremendous, really was. And uh So
next week, Gang we will havetwo shows. We will be live from
our outing and hope to hear fromsome of our sponsors that will be out
(47:22):
there and then we're going to doanother show on Wednesday as well, as
we mentioned, hopefully with a gentlemanfrom Cobbs Creek to join us. But
um, so I sent out thenovel. I'm so excited. So there's
two types of people. There's there'sone person that reads everything, and then
there's the person that just texts meall morning asking me where to go,
or once like I send an emailexactly like three times. So yeah,
(47:51):
again I put in there. It'sthe goal is for it to be the
most fun outing you've ever played. It will not be the fastest by any
by any means, but there willbe so much fun hat out there.
Hopefully the weather cooperates. I thinkit's gonna be hot, but hopefully storms
an increase in the percentage of rain. Maybe we just tell Harry that he's
sick on Monday. I understand,no, just just to not have to
(48:16):
cancel a neverlready date. It keepschange it. I'm that it was too
far to look out, but itwas like zero percent. Now it's fifty
percent, so it don't need whenit's that hot, there's always a chance.
There's always a chance. I gotpulled off the golf course twice this
weekend. It didn't wasn't able tofinish rounds. He heard a lot of
horns this week. Oh yeah, not good. Speaking of horns, you
(48:39):
know that the mal Chevy Silverado willbe beeping its way out into the thirteenth
Green to to give people a chance. And it's funny how the Slouches brought
up that hole is like the signaturehole. It was pretty cool to hear
that. So, yeah, we'relooking forward to it. Harry and Mall
Chevy will be out there representing forus. Yeah, and they've been representing
eight years in a row. Now, Mall Chevrolet is in South Jersey's number
(49:00):
one Chevy dealer. Now, itcould be because you know, they treat
their customers just right. That's whyMaul Chevrolet was voted top one hundred dealer
in the entire USA for customer satisfaction. But I still think it's because of
that motto we sell chevyes for less. Find your perfect drive at Maul Chevrolet
is at Maul Chevallet on Haddonfield Roadand Cherry Hill, right across from the
(49:22):
Cherry Hill Mall, or visit themonline at mall Chevy dot com. Find
your Perfect Drive at maul Chevrolet andmal Chevy dot Com love it. I
want to give a couple quick shoutouts because we talk a lot about the
outing, but just I want totalk about some of our clients and some
of the people involved. Obviously,Comcast business playing a huge part. They're
sponsoring having Wes Patterson out there forthe long drive, so he'll be able.
(49:45):
It won't be replacing a drive. He'll send an extra drive for your
four so which is pretty cool. Our friends from the Stretch Zone are going
to be out there getting people loosenedup before the round, which is pretty
cool. And then right when you'redone stretching, you'll have a massive lunch
by the Kibbets room that will probablyshut you down for a couple of hours.
Uh. We talked about Tito's andExfinity Live, who are gonna be
setting up on the Putting Green,um the Daily Ticket on Fox Sports.
(50:07):
The Gambler will be broadcasting live fromthere from two to six sean while Shawan
is gonna be gonna play right Yeah, John Jansen is gonna do the show
for him. Yeah. Yeah, you guys are very lucky that you have
Slash m Jansen at the station. They do a lot of work. We
certainly are post round. Our friendAndrew Factor from Clearview Financial has a cigar
(50:29):
roller coming. Um and and andQana two is Nico ohso will be djaying
out on the patio as we overlooksome of the final holes. We have
Workhorse par punch and Arnold Palmer spikethat's that's being donated, which is tremendous.
UM three long drive holes and ourfriends from PC Richard and Son are
sponsoring one of them. They've givena great prize in the Uni pizza oven
and some bows glasses. Um.We have the Dowell team, a great
(50:52):
real estate agent over in the SouthJersey area that's involved Rita's water ice who's
sponsoring a long drive and also um, the the last place team, the
coldest team will get rid water guards. Nice. Oh yeah yea. Our
friend Ryan Gaino who's been on theshow from All Access is doing a hole
(51:14):
in one for a trip to Ireland. Uh. Clear Path Financial is doing
it Closest to the Pin for tenthousand dollars. Um that no for a
put. A sixty foot put closestto the pin is gonna win Eagles tickets.
Our friends from the pool. Afterdark, we're doing a shot Shot
in the Dark challenge where you'll winsome force seaview and a table at Harrah's.
(51:37):
We talked about mal Chevy. Obviously, UH DJ Reid Streets will be
out on the course and he hasthe DJ Khaled sounders that will be hitting
after you hit your drive. Som the middle Let's golf, our friend
Tony Camarada and the Camarada family fromTerra Nova UH will be will be holding
a closest to the pin. Andthen the way we're doing it is that
(51:59):
the winning foursome will we'll get somegifts, but the top ten finishers plus
ties will sign up in teams oftwo to participate in the Pizza Hut two
man chip and putt, and thewinner of that they each get a trip
to Cassata Campo. So that isgoing to be tremendous, tremendous, tremendous.
And then obviously the Doctor Glatt LongDrive playoff, because everything grows longer
(52:21):
with Doctor Glatt and you're gonna everythingeverything, a customed suit that's gonna Robini's
gonna be there with the tape measurefitting fitting the winner, and an incredible
special headcover from the Dormy Workshop. And again it's all benefits the Magical Meal
of Foundation. Uh, they'll beselling merch out there. If anyone that
buys merch or makes a donation,UM is gonna be their name is gonna
(52:45):
put in a hat for a reallynice range finder. Um. And then
also anyone that buys anything from Robini, he's donating money back. So we're
gonna have a prize for anyone thatdoes that. And that's it for now.
Wow. If you didn't register forthe this year, I mean,
don't question it next year. Ittook me a minute to say seventy five
percent of what's going on. Ican't wait. I'm gonna I'm gonna take
(53:07):
the Instagram at least into a littletakeover on stories for a little bit,
unless there's too many cocktails consumed byTito's. That was longer than the disclaimer
for the Draftking spot. They stillstill come. Yeah. No, I
heard mad Dog Russo try to getthrough that today on live radio. Really,
I'm telling you he stumbled about sixtytimes. Oh God, have to
(53:30):
give it a read one day.I know. Yeah, yeah, but
we you know, let's let's headright into that right at a two event
weekend in our one in Dunpool,Harry, we have to make two picks,
not just one. You have theGenesis Scottish Open, so I can
look at you guys, that's whatyou're telling me, right, and then
and then you have the Shaving CreamClassic, right, another client that has
not really gotten back to us,by the way, but I digress.
(53:52):
We still will, We'll still talkto them. But so so the Genesis
scott Scottish Open, which is nowan official PGA Tour event, and it's
not at the Renaissance Club. It'sthe Renaissance That's correct, That's good Renaissance
knowledge r d S videos today,I'm like, why is he saying it
like that? I was like,oh, that's almost like torqu On the
(54:12):
Live right to the team, I'mlike, is the Torque k Yeah,
yeah. So the only big name, well, the one big name out
is no Ram. Ram's choosing alittle bit of rest um. You have
three three spots in the Open Championshipif you finish inside the top ten.
So you know, and it's funnybecause you think about you know, you're
in Scotland, the home of golf. Well, this course was created in
(54:34):
like oh seven. Yeah, it'snot like one of these, like you
know, historic courses. You haveZander who's defending UM in twenty one,
you had Minwoo Lee who who's wonit, Aaron Rye who's won it in
twenty twenty. UM, so alot of guys is it a little bit
of a tune up? Are youtrying to get the win? Some guys
are trying to still get into theOpen. So there's a lot of storylines
that make this an incredibly interesting tournament. Yeah. I think it's a great
(54:58):
golf course. I mean I've beenwatching it for the last couple of years
since it's been here now. Butwhen Ricky Fowler wanted it was at a
different course nearby. It was atthe Galaine Golf Club, which is just
a couple of miles away. Thisis right next to Merefield too, which
is one of the greatest Open Championshipvenues. But yeah, Tom Doak,
he's a Pete Die disciple. SoPete Die likes to try to confuse these
(55:21):
players when they're standing on the teaor when they're coming into the green and
you know, very undulating greens onthis golf course too. Now that you
got to figure out in the weatherimpact. I looked up the weather because
you could get the good or thebad end of the draw these next two
weeks. You could pick a playerthat is playing great and they just get
screwed, but because they get thebad end of the weather. So you
(55:42):
got to watch that when you're makingyour picks. But the Friday and Saturday
look like fifty percent chance of rain. Thursday it looks clear, mid sixties,
and Sunday it looks windy but midsixties and not any rain. So
I think they might. I thinkthe scores could be pretty good here.
Think about that. Scheffler is plussix fifty as the favorite. In the
other tournament in Kentucky, Pendrith, your boy, Pendrith is the favorite at
(56:07):
plus eighteen hundred. Think about thedisparity of that. Wow, pretty crazy,
Yeah it is. I think hefinally moved down a little bit the
sixteen hundred. But yeah, yeah, it just changed. Crazy disparity.
Um, you know, we'll talkabout We'll talk about both of them for
sure. M Danielle. You areon site. You are in Kentucky.
(56:28):
Yeah, what are we what's theweather looking like there for the weekend?
It seems like it's pretty pretty good. Honestly, I only looked at the
forecast till Thursday because I'm having aPhilly to see you guys. But I
went out yesterday and walked ud Beplayed in the Monday pro am, so
I walked eleven through eighteen um tosee the course. So I got a
(56:52):
little peek at it um, butreally didn't didn't really check the weather out.
I don't think we're expecting much rainanything crazy. Um. The mornings
are actually kind of nice. It'sa fresh break from the ninety degrees at
eight am and West Palm Beach,so it feels pretty good. But I
haven't seen the whole course yet,but I'll probably get out there tomorrow,
maybe walk to front line close tofifty DP World Tour players event evidently in
(57:15):
this field. Yes, yeah, interesting interesting, interesting yeah, And you
know, let's talk right about it. We'll get into seeing the line,
but we talk about our friends fromDraft King, because from t de Green

every day before the tournament starts tosee what they have in store. A
couple of things I'm looking at.We talked about Aaron Rye. His number
is pretty pretty juicy for a formerwinner at plus sixty five hundred, and
then on the BARBERSL Championship, GraysonMurray is playing really good golf, so
plus thirty five hundred. I'm takinga look at him. But down load
(58:00):
the Draft King sports Book app nowuse the promo code ding and boost your
odds during this weekend's tournament. That'scode ding only on Draftking sports Book.

So Harry, he talked about AaronRye. You know, Scheffler. You
can't touch him at that number. No, does JT come into for him.
He's had some success here, who'sa runner up? He's all happy,
(58:44):
he's got his rolex on. Possiblycan't lay not bad at a number
at fourteen hundred, But I alsolike a little bit further down Lowry at
thirty five hundred and Adam Scott atfifty five. I think he's being disrespected
Adam Scott with that number. Yeah, I really do. I do.
I totally agree. And I alsolike Justin Rose in a matchup minus one
(59:07):
twenty over Burns. So that's whatI'm looking at for that outing. There
you go. I have Rose minusone twenty over Burns as well. I
took Wyndham Clark minus one twenty overHoma, and I took Tom Kim minus
one ten over Herbert tom Kim.He played really well here in this event.
Last flip finish third actually, andhe's plus five thousand to win,
(59:29):
you might want to throw a coupleof shekels on that. The guy knows
the golf course, played it well. I know he's not in the best
of form right now, but youknow, links golf, anything can happen.
Kurt Kitty Yama, our old buddy, finished second here last year and
since that time he's won, hastwo top five, a top twenty,
a top thirty, and seven misscuts. So he's either playing really well
(59:51):
or he misses the cut. Sohe's like Boomer buck Easter. But at
plus nine thousand to win it,I'll throw five ten dollars on him.
What the heck men will le?I mentioned I got him as first round
leader at plus four thousand, andI'm trying to decide which guy to mush
Wyndham Clark or Ricky Fowler in theone and done pool. So I'm trying
to figure out which one my wifeis gonna take, because I don't want
(01:00:13):
to mush her. She actually hasa chance to win some money. So
this is what we do. Now. I figure out who she's gonna take,
and then I get off like shetook. Denny McCarthy last week,
so I was on Denny McCarthy jumpedoff off of him to Adam Hadwin.
Adam had him slammed the trunk. On Friday night, I actually went yeah,
(01:00:34):
and I went with Grayson Mary onthe On the other one, oh,
played well, lest yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Wait,
so Harry he said, you haveto Mushy, which I love mush for
mush and Ricky or who or WyndhamClark. I can't decide which one.
It depends on who she picks. But in the other event, I'm gonna
take Lucas Glover. He was plustwenty two hundred. I think it's down
to two thousand now, isn't itto win? Yeah? Let me say
(01:00:57):
Lucas is two thousand? Yep,yeah, I mean he's playing really well.
He was sixth and a fourth inhis last two starts. And how
about this guy is at Peter QuestYeah, lost twenty in a top ten
man. This guy's on fire.He just gained temporary membership on the before
I told you he got an exemptioninto the Byron when I first walked with
his girlfriend. H yeah yeah. And then Monday played really well and then
(01:01:21):
was in the field again this weekand did another tea ten temporary exemption.
It's one way to get on tour. Absolutely take anyway you can, right.
Yeah, when you look over atthe barbersall again, I like Grayson
Murray at that thirty five, NicholasNorgard at plus four thousand, and I
like Harry Higgs in a top tenat plus six fifty on button button.
(01:01:44):
Yeah, Harry Hicks freed at TacoMeat. You got to get that out
there. I wanted to he doeshe put the sunscreen all the way down
here? Do you think he justlike lets it go? I think he
lets it go, y too, lets it fly. I love to see
it though, I'd love to seeit. Yeah, well, guys,
