(00:26):
and dang it. Yeah, youknow, just guess it's gonna go out
there and trying to swing it anddang it. All right, Hello and
welcome to Swing It and Ding Itand iHeartMedia Podcast. This has moves along
with Maize and Matthews as we inchever closer to the end of golf's regular
season and into the FedEx Club Playoffs. We are driven by mas Chevrolet.
We'll talk a little bit about moreabout them later and of course, presented
(00:48):
by Drafting Sports Book, we willtalk a lot about them when we see
the line because there's a lot ofmovement, there's a lot of money to
be made there. Typically isn't alot, aren't a lot of swings At
the end of the year, it'sonly two or three guys that move in
or out. It seems like therecould be a lot more happening so we'll
see. But right now we aregoing to take it back home, take
it back to Philadelphia, and inmy opinion, one of the biggest stories
in Philadelphia golf in the past decade, and there's been a lot of stories
(01:14):
about it, right, it's beenwhat's going on? Is it happen?
Is it not? COVID hits rumors. So we're going straight to Bendwon,
the golf course superintendent of Cobbs Creekto find out all the answers. Ben,
Welcome to swinging thing. Thanks youguys, appreciate you having me absolutely.
So let's start now, right andthen we'll kind of look back a
little bit and then we'll look aheadto the future. But so last week
(01:37):
or two weeks ago when we hadour golf out of you guys had a
big day. It was the groundbreakingceremony to really get things underway. Talk
to us about that point and whatreally the timeline and the plans are.
Yeah, it was an exciting dayfor us. It's obviously, like you
mentioned, it's been a long timecoming. There's been stories and ideas out
there for over ten years and finallybe at the point where we were sticking
(02:00):
shovels in the ground was huge.We had a lot of people there.
We had over two hundred and fiftyto help celebrate a lot of people to
think, from politicians to parks andRack to the original people who fourteen years
ago through this crazy idea out togo back to the original routing. And
(02:21):
it's exciting to actually have our firstproject underway, which is building the reservoir.
Well, now that you've officially brokenground and you're working on the reservoir,
is there any way that you couldtell us when approximately this might be
completed now that you've officially started.Yeah, there's a lot of a lot
of phases to this project. It'sso this year were we broke ground on
(02:46):
the reservoir, and later this yearwe'll get started on the education center and
the driving range building. Next yearwe'll be getting the creek restoration and the
building of the short course and theactual driving range field, and then twenty
twenty five we're looking to build thetwenty seven hole golf course with a grand
(03:07):
opening in twenty twenty six, butthere's pieces that will open before that.
Well, Jeff, there's several phasesto this that you just walked us through.
But talked to us about how yougot here, the history of the
course, you know, everything thattook us up to the point we're at
today. Yeah. So when CobbsCreek opened in nineteen sixteen, it was
(03:30):
the best public course in the country. It was originally designed by Hugh Wilson,
the same architect who did Marion,as well as other famous architects George
cromp Aw tilling Has, George Thomas, William Flynn. It's pretty cool the
group of that Philadelphia School of Architecturethat was here helping out. Yeah.
(03:53):
And over the years, you know, like any public course, it had
it ebbs and flows. Actually inthe fifties it lost probably about a thirteen
to twenty acre portion of the propertythat the government took back to create an
anti aircraft artillery brace, and thatcalls the golf course to be rerouted,
(04:15):
some holes to change. So partof the plan with the restoration is to
go back to that original nineteen sixteenrouting that they first had. So you
talked about those names, and they'rehuge names in architecture, and I think
in a hundred years from now, when when people hear the names like Gill
(04:36):
Hanson and mister Wagner and also TigerWoods have some conclusion in it, so
that I mean, you are justadding to the lineage of people that have
touched this place. And I thinkthat's the you know what, really people
are taking just excitement to kind ofsee talk about how you transition from you
know, the folks that laid thegroundwork to the guys now that are going
(04:57):
to take over and try to bringit to life. Yeah, you know,
we mentioned all the old famous architectsand you know right now, you
don't get any bigger than Jim andGil. What they do is remarkable.
It seems like every week when youturn on the event, especially a major
it's recently renovated by Gilling Jim,So to be able to partner with them
(05:18):
is incredible. And then to havethe TGR Foundation developing the education center and
the short course is just huge.I don't think you could come up with
a better groups to partner with tocreate some excitement and what should be a
great project for the city affiliate. So there's gonna be twenty seven holes and
then a nine hole short course inaddition to that. Correct and then out
(05:43):
of that twenty seven holes, theidea is to get eighteen of them in
a composite routing food to possibly holdsome sort of tournament or a PGA Tour
event. Correct, Yeah, thatyou know, that would be the ultimate
idea. Yeah, yes, exactly. You know, if all goes well,
we have we will have the capabilityto host a tour event. Wow,
(06:03):
we'll have the old course, theoriginal eighteen Karakong used to be eighteen.
That's gonna drop down to nine. But within that routing, we'll have
eighteen holes that we're able to pushpush the distance pretty far to help host
a tournament. That's awesome. That'sbeen an ongoing topic that we talk about
on the pot all the time. How do we get a PGA Tour tournament
(06:27):
to Philly? Yeah, I'd befingers crossed. So Ben, talk a
little bit about your history in thegame. You know, your your kind
of golf journey. What brought youto this point some of your recent history.
Yeah, So I grew up witha father who landscaped and kind of
always helped him around the yard doingwork on his jobs. And I originally
(06:50):
went to school to be a mathmajor, and that first summer after college
I got a job on a golfcourse, never really thinking that it was
a career option, but just fellin love with it, decided to switch
majors, started doing internships. Theyworked in Rohndicoy Up in Rochester, pike
(07:10):
Wood National in West Virginia, andthen was lucky enough to go work for
Paul Latshaw Nearfield Village out in Ohioand with him had the opportunity to come
to Marrying right before the renovation thereand just was able to meet Gil and
Jim and heard about this great projectat Cobbs Creek and kind of started nipping
(07:32):
at their heels to help help meget involved somehow, and met the right
people Chris Lane, Chris McGuire,Jeff Shanahan, and was lucky enough to
be offered this opportunity to be partof an absolute game changer, tremendous how
student, Oh, go go ahead, Daniel, Well, Ben you're saying
(07:54):
an absolute game changer. What hasbeen the coolest part of this process so
far? Just a team we havein place, and how much excitement there
is from the team we have, and then just people pulling in the lot
every day. You know, when'sit opening? I used to play here.
I can't wait to bring my kidshere, my grandkids. It's just
(08:16):
that level of excitement and seeing theimpact that we're already having in the schools.
We have Maria Struprun's law of oureducation programming right now and she's just
this month, she said, fourweeks of camps. And to think that
we're gonna be able to do thisin this beautiful, brand new, through
thirty thousand square foot education center alongwith all the dolphing benefits is just really
(08:39):
really cool. How did the wholeTiger Woods Foundation get associated with or interested
in and even really you know, know about what was you know, going
on and what was you know, the vision of Cobbs Creek. How did
they get involved? That's probably abetter question for the higher ups. I
(09:01):
wasn't really involved with that, butI think just our missions aligning, the
fact that we can give back throughthe game of golf, the opportunity to
stem based learning and really try tocreate some positive change for kids and give
them an opportunity to learn the gamesof golf that extra boost of education scholarships.
(09:24):
I believe they have something easy toget involved. I think don't they
have something similar to that down atEast Lake in Atlanta, where they've done
similar things they do. Yes,that's another place that we've kind of looked
at to see how they're programming willkind of you know, caddy programs are
running education programs getting kids involved inthe golf course operations as well as the
(09:50):
educational ben talk about the course itself, right, you're talking about going back
to the original routing, and weknow that the bones of the course and
even some of the way that thepeaks connect to some other pretty famous places
and courses. Like just talk aboutthe land itself. Oh, the land
itself is just amazing. To findthree hund fifty seventy five acres of this
(10:15):
type of rolling to preography in thecity of Philadelphia. I mean, that's
unheard of. It's up down,It's truly what they call gravity golf.
You don't really need a lot ofbumpers because the hills are just take it
and go. There's a couple holesthat run right next to each other.
Both played to the top of thehill, but one plays fifty yards longer,
(10:39):
so you're hitting from the bottom ofthe hill up on your second compared
to the top of the hill tothe green. It's just little stuff like
that, and then you mentioned CobbsCreek coming through. There's three holes in
a row that you got to carrywater to get to the green. That's
just treacherous. Wow. Is thereany any way that golf architect nerds like
(11:01):
some of us and some people listeningto this podcast and get a look at
this golf course or is it tooearly for that's you could? It's fun
to walk around. There's some reallycool distance opened up. It is overgrown.
It's crazy how quickly mother nature cantake over place after it's been closed
(11:24):
for only a couple of years. But if you, if you have an
architecture eye and study it, you'llbe able to see some pretty cool things
that we're playing. So what isit slated that they come in and start
moving dirt so the shot course willstart next year? That's the big dirt
(11:45):
moving for the golf course. They'removing dirt right now for the reservoir,
and then this September October ish timelineis when you'll see some actions start to
happen on the buildings and hopefully nextyear when you drive by you'll see framing
and siding going up tremendous. Makesure you had to Copscreek dot org.
(12:07):
Find out all the information. Benfollow on social right, that's the best
way to kind of keep up todate with any kind of changes or updates.
Yeah, yeah, definitely the copsCreek Twitter handle and then the cops
Creek Instagram. We did like alive camera like they had on the I
ninety five Billy Kyle who did thedrone for us. I got a drone
guy? That cool? I mean, yeah, awesome, Yeah, that'd
(12:31):
be great. Right now, I'mflying it and I'm not very I could
use all the help I can getit. Ben, Listen, we really
appreciate some time today. It wasfun to talk about this. We're really
excited about it. Anything we cando to help along the way, please
know, use us as a resource. We're here because you know, we're
really really excited to see how thisall comes out. Man, awesome,
(12:52):
I really appreciate you having me andhelping spread the word about the project.
You got it. Thank you. We'll talk to you soon. Thanks,
guys. All right, we'll takea quick break. We'll be right back,
all right, and welcome back toSwing It and Ding It. Long
time coming. Talking to the folksat copstre we had was it the Walmut
Lane guy like I remember talking tosomeone in the very beginning about about this
(13:15):
and that was I don't know,maybe it was pre COVID. I don't
even remember, but it seems likeit's been, you know, a long
time. But to see that actualceremony, you know, last week,
was tremendous. Yeah, because youknow, nothing in the city of Philadelphia
gets done easily, so there wasa lot of hurdles that they had to
get over, and I think itwas just like when they thought they were
getting close, there's something else thatthey got to do. And now to
(13:39):
know that they finally got shovels inthe ground and they're they're starting to work
on it. Like he said, the reservoirs the first piece of this thing.
Now now it looks like, youknow, they should hopefully knock would
have smooth sailing and we can getthis golf course on open honor about twenty
twenty six, twenty twenty seven.Yeah, And it's cool because it sounds
like there's not a lot that theyneed to do to the golf course other
(14:01):
than get it in shape. Andobviously there's there it's a lot about it,
but I mean, like they don'tneed to build in hills and build
in all this stuff and the like. He said, the national topography is
just tremendous there. Yeah, theyyou know, they'll have some clearing to
do, but it's not like they'retaking a piece of forest and have to
clear out all the trees to makeroom for the holes. At a lot
(14:24):
of it's pretty much already there.Yeah, yeah, cool stuff. Excited,
Excited to follow along. I'll tellyou when they redid some of the
holes at the nineteen twelve club. You know, I was able to watch
a lot of that and watch Icould. I sat there for about an
hour one day. It was inthe winter, because they did in the
off season, and I'm freezing,I was drinking a bourbon and I'm standing
(14:46):
out in the middle of of whatis now the eighth Fairway, and I'm
watching this guy in a bulldozer allby himself, nobody else there, and
he's just clear and went back andforth and shaping. He would start and
you could start to see after likea day, Wow, I can I
can visualize there's the green and here'swhere it's gonna go down into a bunker.
Like the way they shape the landwith with a bulldozer. Those guys
(15:09):
are amazing part. Yeah, Iwas just saying I was still on to
Jonathan's landing watching that, and i'deven even the difference in a week,
Like you go down there and you'relike, Okay, that's the fair way
they're coming in, Like it's prettycool. I think that was part of
like the coolest part of the processand watching the course being built out.
Yeah, we'll have to get someboots on and go over to Cops Creek
(15:31):
one and take a walk. Yeah, I'll do a little hiking over there.
I think that'd be cool to checkit out. Yeah. Well,
back to the PGA Tour though, because how about a wire to wire winner
with a seven stroke win. Imean, yeah, tell me anyone was
expecting that, right, There's justno way. But kudos to Lee Hodges
(15:54):
gets his gets his first win sixtyseven on Sunday. He shot sixty three,
sixty four, sixty six seven.I'm glad this wasn't a five or
sixty tournaments. Seemed like you yeah, yeah, almost went to the high
sixties, if you could imagine.I thought he had the four hole record
and then the seventy two whole scoringrecord, both twenty under and then twenty
four under and he ends up winningby seven. He had a three shot
(16:17):
lead going into the in the finalhole. I mean it was yeah,
it was some crazy just that finaluh seventy second hole. Yeah. JT.
Poston needed a seven on eighteen towin eight hundred and fifty thousand,
and he shot it. He gotan eight uh for took away five hundred
ninety so two hundred and sixty thousanddollars loss in. But he was quoted
as saying he's not out here forsecond place. Ten out of ten times
(16:38):
I would go for it again.Yeah, yeah, yeah, he made
the right call. I mean,he had a tough lie. It was
a downhill lie almost you know, towards the water, and he had to
hit like a hybrid or some sortof you know, utility type club and
he just he got real close. It banged off that rock and then it
hit the three M sign that layingin the pond, and then it finally
(17:00):
went to the water. But whatI was amazed in is I'm still thinking
he's gonna get second by himself, because all he's got to do now,
you know, play his what histhird his third shot in and two out
in three putting his fourth shot downthe fairway get on in five and two
and two put for a seven andhe has second all by himself. He
(17:22):
came up short on the on theapproach and hit a put a really weak
pot. I thought he would chipit because there was a good bit of
a fringe or apron to go through. And sometimes you know that depending on
which way that's growing, that'll that'llreally just kill the ball. And it
did, and it left him withlike a six or seven footer it looked
like, and he missed it.It'd be funny like those signs down that
(17:44):
they put out in the middle ofthe water, some of them are kind
of stirty. What if the balllike landed on it, But could a
guy swim out and climb up andhit it from it? Or yeah,
it's still in the hazard, soyou know it's like, yeah, like
what are you gonna do? Isthat technically obey? Like yeah, I
think it's still a having still gotto take a drop no matter what,
right, Yeah, Yeah, payingoff the mall Chevrolet sign out there.
(18:06):
Yeah, getting a little boat andgo out there, and that would be
amazing to see anyone out like hesee if Tony female had a T seven.
It's kind of like a strange likeup and down leaderboard throughout the weekend,
and um, you know you didnice? He did top ten.
Yeah right, yep, yep.Everyone's kind of watching JT again to see,
(18:26):
you know what's gonna be going onwith him? Well, which JT?
The real JTS, JT posting nowhe's hot postman, yeah, the
postman Wow this week. Yeah,I think Harry's gonna start getting annoyed with
JT because we're getting out as muchcoverage on JT as we used to on
I mean I just watched Golf Channelprior to tuning in here and there was
(18:47):
like an hour special on JT.And how you know he really make her
cup points this week? Well,he needs to finish in the top fifteen
this week to get inside the topseventy. He's currently seventy ninth. Solo
A teen will get him in withno help. Solo eighteen or better.
Yeah, astand for FedEx points regularhe's a boy Austin Grass right on the
(19:08):
bubble. He's number seventy right now. Yeah, yeah, very seventy.
Adam Scott is another name. He'soutside of eighty. He's been playing well
this year. I can't understand howhe's outside the top seventy. He needs
like a two way tie for ninthor better to get in. Kevin Streelman,
who had a good week this pastweek. He's number eighty four.
(19:29):
He needs a solo seventh for Betterto get in. You got guys like
Billy Horschel. He needs to winthe tournament. He's like one sixteen.
I talked about Lowry. Did youtalk about Lowry? No? I didn't,
But yeah, he's I can't believehe's had so many top twenty fives
this year and yet he's still outsideseventy six. He needs a two way
tie for twenty three or a solothird place with no help. So a
(19:52):
lot of implications for this for sure. Oh yeah, Steve Sands has got
his head is going to explode onlike five o'clock on Thursday afternoon. He's
going to be saying somebody moved, you know, inside the bubble, like
it matters on Thursday. There's onlymatters on Sunday. Yeah. Yeah,
But we're gonna'm gonna talk real quickabout our friends over at the AGS Tour
(20:15):
Amateur Golf Society Tour. We haven'ttalked to them a little bit and there
it's been going off incredibly well.Anyone I know that plays in it absolutely
loves it. And they have prorated second half discount memberships now, so
if you go on and use codesecond Half twenty for twenty dollars off any
membership tier. So there's still tonsof golf to play. The second half
(20:36):
leaderboards are underway. The golfer withthe most points earned or in the second
half of the competition, which startsthis week, wins a three nights stay
at the Embassy Suites by Hilton ArubaResort, which is oh wow. Yeah.
And they have like their you know, their Major, their third Major,
their third round of Majors are comingup. Rounds of major excuse me
the week of A twenty one, including our boy Chill Moody's Nice Nice Things
(20:56):
Invitational presented by Cadillac at Honeybrook,Honeybrook's Yeah a Great Spot YEP and the
PHL Date Night Invitation on at PennSalken and it's at also a Bay Side
in Delaware, and winners of eachnet flight and all the events receive an
exclusive Bettinardi Ags Gold putter cover.Check out their socials it's really really cool
looking. So yeah, make sureyou check those guys out. So they're
they're just starting the second half.So when when does it end? Like
(21:19):
how many more weeks? I thinkit goes into the early fall, not
sure that the actual end date um. And then they they you know,
they do some stuff in the wintertimea five iron, So it's it's it's
something you can kind of really stayinvolved with, you know, throughout the
year, which is tremendous. Sothe code is second half twenty yep for
twenty dollars off any membership two twon D is the yeah, second half
(21:41):
twenty Yeah. Check it out.And a lot of fun, a lot
of fun to be had out there, and you know, let's take a
quick break and we will be rightback, all right, Welcome back to
Swing It and Ding It. Ifyou saw on our social media today,
by the way, the amazing headcover for mister Russell Hartongue, the long
drive champion of our event, arrivedfrom the Dormy Workshop and man is it
(22:03):
a beauty of beauty. I shippedthat out to him, and I also
shipped you guys you're Swinging and Dingahead covers as well today. So if
you wait to get that. Yeah, I took the titleist out of the
bag, put the callaway back inas far as the driver. That's why
I've got the callaway hat on today. Okay, Kevin Martin will be happy
(22:25):
to hear that. Wow, ButI'm I'm anxious to put that swing it
and ding it head cover right overthat that Callaway epic. Yeah, no
doubt about it, No doubt aboutit. And then I have I have
my Bethpage a little run coming upon Wednesday, Bethpage Black with Greeney.
I have to clear out my bagbecause I think you have to carry I
don't know if they have caddies atthe time we're playing. So I'm excited
(22:47):
and nervous. Yeah, anytime youplay any place you know cool, you
know with history or just you knowtradition, you know, just a place
where you're like, wow, Ican't believe I'm here. You're gonna be
nervous. I would shaking, literally, Jeff like a leaf on the first
tea the first time of the twotimes that I played, was fortunate enough
to play at Pine Valley, soI know exactly how you're gonna be.
(23:11):
But it'll be worth it. It'ssure will. It's sure will. But
yeah, as we've mentioned, wemoved into the final event of the regular
season, the Windham Championship. Again, we're going from where it was one
hundred and twenty five guys now seventyguys. We talked a little bit about
some of the guys that are kindof on the bubble. Talked about Austin
Ecot, who's got that last spot, and then we talked about some of
the big names Lowry jt Adam Scottright who we're all trying to work their
(23:34):
way in. We're out at SedgefieldCountry Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Harry Harry mays the course, ofcourse, tell us about this place.
Yeah, this is a Donald Rossdesign. I mean this place. This
is one of the oldest tour stops, by the way, on the PGA
Tour. I debuted eighty five yearsago as the Greater Greensboro Open. I
(23:56):
believe that it's nineteen thirty eight. For those that can do some math.
Am Snead is an eight time winnerof this golf tournament. Now, they
ended up moving it for about Ithink thirty years over the Forest Oaks,
and that's when I went to it. I was at the GGO two times
during the years that I lived downin North Carolina. It was a super
fun event. One day I followedJohn Daly for the entire day and that
(24:18):
was the day. I mean,we were really close to him the whole
time. And that was the daythat I noticed he had the big,
the greatest hand to mouth habit knownto man. He had a Diet coke
Canad Diet coke in his right handat all times, m and m's and
cigarettes and as soon as he'd havea shot, the caddy would hand him
his club, he'd put the cokedown, take the shot, cigarette back
(24:41):
up in his mouth, Diet cokeall the way down to Fairway. It
was something to see. That wasat the GGO. It's now, of
course the Windham and seven thousand yards. It's not it's just over seven thousand
yards, so it's not a bigballpark. It's you know, iron players.
You know, approach is really thekey. The greens are unbelievable.
You get above the above the hole, you're good luck because it's Donald Ross,
(25:03):
so that it's it's all about thegreens. The Bermuda and the closing
hole stretch is really cool. Oncethey crossed the road. From the par
three twelfth, there's the par fourthirteenth hole is a blind tea shot and
they take it right up the caddypath a dog legs left. Par four
fourteen is a bear of a hole, five hundred plus yards dog leg left,
(25:26):
kind of uphill par four. There'sa par five fifteenth, which is
not hard for these guys to getthere in two, but it's hard for
them to hold the green in twocoming in with longer clubs. It's a
challenging hole. The par three sixteenthis where they have the beach, like
the Windham Beach. You'll see thislittle pile of water of the pond and
(25:48):
everybody hanging out in the sand andon some Adirondack chairs or whatever. Seventeenth
Part four eighteen is a killer. So that's the five hundred plus yard par
four kind of a downhill and thenuphill there's a water there's a hazard that
bisects the fair way and it's anuphill second shot to a really great green.
It usually provides for a lot ofdrama, but a great old school
(26:10):
classic golf course and it's usually hot, sticky and really you know, typical
North Carolina like August temperatures, andthe number seventy is going to be mentioned
how many times this weekend on thesebroadcasts moves' what's the over under for the
number seventy fifty? Oh, SteveSands will have that done by the end
A round one over as a lock. Yes, and Danielle, if you
(26:34):
survive this storm, you'll be headingup there and you'll be able to maybe
get us some pictures and videos fromthe from the course, right, I
will be. If I'm not sure, I apologize my internet connections a little
off today. We have a typicalFlorida weather. Harry, You're just talking
about the weather up there. Sohopefully I'll get a couple degrees relief by
going a little further north. Butyam taking a late flight up there tomorrow,
(26:55):
so I'll be up. I'll getthere in Greensbor around ten thirty tomorrow,
so I'll be able to put somestuff up on the Instagram and show
you, uh, you know someof those holes that Harry just highlighted what
they look like. Nice, loveit, love it. So seven of
the last twelve winners finished twelfth orbetter the prior year, and also of
the last twelve, only two finishedoutside of the top fifteen in driving accuracy.
(27:17):
You talked about that, Harry, right, so um, you know,
as we as we see the linehere, get ready to see the
line with our friends at DraftKings.Just some things to think about, ye
And one of the more accurate driversjust Withdrew a few hours ago, Keith
Mitchell. He won't be wearing Cat, wouldn't have been wearing Kashmere and that
keat Kashmere. Keith is out.So did they say why? No?
(27:38):
I don't know. Hopefully it's youknow, nothing serious, not an injury
or anything like that. But heWithdrew Lee Hodges Withdrew too, right,
I think yeah? I think soyou move on when you moved from seventy
fourth to thirty third and the FedExCup with a win. I don't think
you really need to play this andhave a phone call with Nick Saban from
the bar after the round tips. How cool is that was a cool video?
(28:00):
It is? And then also ifyou guys saw the Brian Harmon video
of him arriving in Sea Island withHarris English out there and like his whole
you know, friends and family, was really cool? Right to look shut
up. I didn't see that oneyet. Somebody put a Corse light in
the jug for him. He drankit right on the spot, so pretty
cool. Yeah, good stuff. So we're gonna see the line and we
(28:22):

(28:44):
Talked about some of the guys reallyhigh on the board, obviously Matziyama,
Sunjay who's had success here. UmI like I like Denny McCarthy. We've
talked about him a lot. He'sgot six top tens. He missed the
cut last year, but he's beenfifteenth, ninth and twenty second here so
he knows, you know, heknows how to play his event. So
I'm really going to keep my eyeon him. But everyone else, make
sure you download the Drafting sports Bookup now, use the promo code ding

see the line here, buddy?Well, you know last week I took
a very hot player and he missedthe cut Sepstraka. So this is what
happens to me all season long.So I'm gonna put this out there right
(29:48):
now. I hate to do itto the real JT. He's gonna moush.
Somebody the jat posting is probably gonnabe slamming his trunk on Friday evening
because I'm taking him in my oneand don he is uh, you know,
he's this will be his fifth weekin a row of playing, so
I'm thinking he might be out ofgas. Who knows. But he's plus
four hundred in a top ten. He's a previous winner here. He's playing
(30:08):
great golf. So I'll go withhim and see what happens. A guy
that a lot of people are probablygonna jump on his son jay m but
he has not been better than toptwenty ti twentieth in his last nine starts.
That's a slump for a guy likehim. Oh yeah, you know.
Seewoo Kim is a guy I'm takingplus twenty five hundred. He's four.
(30:30):
He has four top fives, includinga win at this event. Let
me not say shaking that house.I can't tend it ten times in my
head, and I'm like, Igotta just say it, and I'm gonna
take uh. Shane Lowry plus twoseventy five in a top ten. He
needs to get inside the top sending. We talked about him a few minutes
(30:52):
ago, I'll take him, andthe matchups were not out yet. I
don't know if you're seeing anything rightnow, Moose, but I didn't say
no, actually look for him. They weren't up. It's a little early
for the matchups. I guess they'llbe up. Yeah, we're recording a
little so what we'll do is maybewe'll put him out on the on the
Twitter feed. Yeah, yeah,I actually have I was gonna take and
Daniel. I wanted to ask yousome of our guys, right, you
know Eric Hole, who I kindof like Austin Eckrote, Right, there's
(31:15):
some of the you know guys thatwe have been on and future guest Denny
McCarthy, as I mentioned, Yeah, a lot of these guys are are
you know, not just you know, some guys are not going to be
able to play their way into this, but they're going to play their way
into having a good final, youknow, tournament and really setting themselves up
for next year. Do you getthat sentiment from some of the guys like
this is big, Like the lasttournament of the year is is pretty big?
(31:37):
I think so. I mean KevinRoy, who's been on the pod,
he played with me last week andyou know, I saw him where
was I just oh in Tahoe,Like I saw him before. He was
going out. He's a group behindus, and he's like, you know,
unless like I win, He's like, so, I'm just going out
and just trying to play golf. And I think Lee Hodges is a perfectly
perfect example of that. He justyou know, he was a rookie last
year and he said at the endhe was just like, you know what,
(32:00):
I'm going to go out and justplay as free as possible. And
look he won by how many lastweek? He's like, if I can
just keep that thought process and beplaying this free, I think it's gonna
be great. So I think there'sa mixed bag with the rookies and the
stress and the level of stress thatthey're feeling heading into this, but hopefully
they can just kind of stay freeand you know help for a top five,
(32:21):
Yeah, yeah, no doubt.I like I mentioned, I like
Danny. That number actually got alittle worse. It was thirty five now
it's three thousand. But Aaron Ryeat four thousand, I like Eric Cole
in a top five at plus fourteenhundred, and Vincent Norman in a top
ten at plus seven hundred, playingreally good golf. I was going to
take sun Jay as a first roundleader at four thousand, just thinking he
(32:42):
might jump out and then kind offizzle out. But we'll see. Maybe
you might have talked me out ofthat. When I'm not sure, don't
let me don't let me tuck.My matchups have been pretty good, but
my one and done has been horrible, just horrifying. Yeah. What do
you guys think of the first ofa couple of recap videos that every from
Mark Golf adding o Mike Powers ison with us now and his team from
Give Us a Shot Network. Ohyeah, I thought that was awesome.
(33:06):
I mean I wasn't expecting it,and I finally got a chance to catch
up on my text. I waslike, this is great. I sent
it to Gavin and she's like,I can't have a camera on me.
I look fordiculous. She's always goingwith the camera on it. She's always
yeah, she's always camera ready.Yeah. Yeah, but I thought it
was great, the recap of everything. But you know, you're just talking
about Powers. I was. Ijust started following them on TikTok and I
(33:27):
saw him fall back over the signand over the Divotox Divot box. Yeah
yeah, yeah, yeah. Thatmade it into the Fox Sports to Gambler
recap video, which is a versionof ours just a little bit different with
more more coverage from Crucker and thoseguys, which was so cool, so
funny, such a great event thatwe had. Everyone I was with.
People added a charity outing for theMagical Meal Foundation, which was incredible.
(33:49):
They raised almost sixty five thousand dollarsat this event. It maynards um.
They were almost up to a halfa million dollars raised for things that are
going directly back to help people,so tremendous. With everyone I talked to
that was air was blown away bythe event and the course, you know,
so it was really cool just totalk to talk to everybody about it.
Yeah, and obviously Harry mal Chevywas a big part of our day
(34:10):
out there, as they continue tobe. So let's hear a word from
mals Chevy. Well, yeah, you know, for eight years in a
row now, mal Chevrolet has beenSouth Jersey's number one Chevy dealer. Now
this could be because they treat theircustomers exactly right, but that's why mal
Chevy was voted a top one hundreddealer in the entire country for customer satisfaction.
But we still think it's because ofthat motto. It's so simple we
