This episode is brought to you byComcast Business. Whatever your day brings,
they'll help you handle it with reliablegig speeds and advanced cybersecurity solutions. Every
day in business is a big day. Comcast Business will keep you ready for
what's next. Comcast Business Powering Possibilities. Just gotta get out there and swing

(00:26):
and dang it. Yeah, youknow, just this is gonna go out
there and trying to swing it anddang it. All right, Hello and
welcome to Swing It and Ding Itand iHeartMedia podcast. This is Moose with
Maize and Matthews. As we headtowards the playoffs. Harry the plast Shore,
the Jim Mora cut. Always thatis something that will just never go

(00:49):
away because it's no incredible. Thatwas one of the most popular drops back
in the day on the radio stationin a certain time of year. Oh
yeah, you're just trying to haveit. Definitely, definitely. But there
was a tournament that had a lotof implications for the playoffs. It turned
to be kind of a whole lotabout nothing, which usually is the case,
right You think, like all theseguys can get in and out,

(01:10):
but it just just doesn't happen.Like that. But Lucas Glover did get
in right he uh, he wins. He knocks out Austin Eckrote who was
on the on the bubble, andnow he's at seventy one. He goes
two under sixty eight for a twoshot win over Russell Henley and ben On.
He goes from one twelve to fortynine, so quite quite a jump.

(01:32):
And then you know, a lotof the story we'll talk about Lucas
and his win, but you know, Adam Scott misses the playoffs for the
first time in his career. Ithink it's seventeen years, sixteen years,
yeahsteen year playoff career streak comes toan end. How about halt yep,
and then you have you know,Horsel goes sixty two sixty three, he
comes in fourth. He needed asecond or better man. He was taking

(01:53):
a run going after it. Andthen obviously the biggest name is Jat Right,
he has that birdie chip on eighteenand if it falls, he's in
and it hits the flat laps.He needed nine points, right. That's
like when you know, for me, when I at work, like we
miss a budget, it's like wemissed it by two thousand dollars if food.
You know, he missed it bynine points. If he would have
been one place higher at some pointduring the year. Yeah, he's in.

(02:15):
But you know, just the youknow, some good drama leading into
the playoffs, which are more confinedthis year at seventy golfers. But Harry,
what'd you think about the Wham Championship. Well, I thought it was
pretty good. I love that golfcourse and I like Lucas Glover. He's
a guy that that I always liketo see play well. He's had his
struggles, he's had injuries. Youknow, it's the guy that won the

(02:37):
US Open way back in two thousandand nine for his second win on tour,
and you're thinking, like, wow, man, this guy might you
know, be one of these youngguys that great ball striker will set the
world on fire. That didn't happen. But he got his fifth win,
and like you said, he movedinto the FedEx Cup playoffs and missed his
first win since the twenty twenty oneJohn Deere. He makes parr on his

(02:58):
final four holes after the rain delay, and you know, Russell Henley went
in the tank after that rain delay. He made three straight bogies, to
finish up, and really that wasthat's why we didn't have really any drama.
I mean, I would have lovedthe playoff between those two and extra
golf as we went into the evening, but you didn't get it. But
you know, he's had a winand three top six finishes since switching putters

(03:20):
to that broom handle lab mez dotone, I think is how you call
it. It's a strange name, but it's the same thing that Adam Scott
uses. And I understand that ourfriend Brad Faxon had a little something to
do with Lucas Glover making the putterchange. Danielle Wow, Yeah, he
works with Jason Blover, Jupiter Hillsand as you guys know, we've Jason's

(03:42):
in front of the show. Jason, Brad and Lance all work with him,
and yeah, they've been working onhis putter, trying to figure it
out. And you know, maybethat is the new jailbird that everybody is
out hunting for a right that wewere going to see a bunch of guys
with this new style putter. Sowe shall see. But that just wants
to show you that it fits everybody. You know, every putter fits somebody
differently. Whatever works for Moose isn'tgoing to work for me, Right,

(04:04):
That's exactly what's gonna say to me. That's a sign of a great teacher,
right, someone that doesn't try tosqueeze you into a box, but
you know, lets you play theequipment or the swing that you have and
just helps you try to improve it. So yeah, absolutely, I mean
that definitely definitely stood out to me. Danielle. You you know, you
were on property earlier in the week, and what were your takeaways of the
golf course, Like what did yousee going into it that you know stood

(04:26):
out from a golf course perspective.I actually kind of really liked the golf
course. Obviously, it was onlyfollowing one group, so be unfortunately missed
the cut. I think the bothgot or maybe one guy got through in
his group. But I just kindof remember, going back to you talking
about JT on eighteen, like Iknow exactly where that pin placement was because

(04:49):
on Thursday it was just a littlebit back further to the left, so
I could like exactly, like knowexactly how that undulation went there. But
yeah, I don't I don't thinkthe course was anything like crazy. It
was a joy to walk, butobviously playing it into a completely different story.
But I kind of wish I wasthere for the weekend to see all

(05:11):
this drama unfold. I did wantto highlight real quick because you guys know
how I follow my Corn Fairy guysand all the rookies and everything else,
So there's so many rules that evenI have to keep up with. I
don't know if it's a challenge foryou guys to keep up with, but
we know how, like the topseventy of the tour come down, in
the top seventy from the Corn Fairygo up. So from those seventy,

(05:32):
only seven made it to the FedExCup Playoffs being been on our guy Eric
Cole, Thomas, t Tree,Taylor Montgomery, Sam Stevens, which I
was like, I don't know ifyou guys have been paying attention, but
I feel like he's sneaky snuck inthis year. Yeah, Vincent Norman and
then obviously Ben Griffin, so thisI have to go in a little bit
more. His girlfriend digging Up posteda story of him on her Instagram story

(05:57):
and it just reminded me of likea college NFL player like this, like
you know, hand in palm orhead into the hand of his palm,
like looking to be like, amI going to be drafted? In?
Might be drafted? And he's justwatching refreshing to scores and has the TV
up in the back because what afterJT missed you know it hit the flagstick
or cacheted off falls to the crowdand miss is it And that's eventually what

(06:20):
got Ben Griffin in. But whatwas it like three hours until it was
finalist and then the tournament. Sohe's sitting there like refreshing, refreshing.
It's kind of like probably how wefeel all the time refreshing scores are watching
shot link, you know, andit literally just seeing the stress and everything
on Ben. It literally looked likeand you know college NFL player on draft

(06:42):
day, like, oh my god, where am I going? Am I
getting in? And he ended upgetting in, So that was pretty cool
because he had he had missed thecut at Sedgefield and then ended up sneaking
in at that number seventy spot.So it's pretty cool and excited to watch
what this crew of the you know, the bottom seventy does into the playoffs.
Yeah, yeah, no doubt aboutit. Harry. Any other big
takeaways from either guys in or outor the tournament or Lucas. Uh.

(07:05):
Well, you know you mentioned HorsellWebb Simpson as another guy who didn't do
enough and he was way way behind. He had he had to win,
and maybe that I don't even knowif that would have gotten him in.
But Lowry too, Shane Lowry missedout. He was another guy that I
kind of thought at the beginning ofthe year was gonna have a pretty decent
year and make it through. Andof course you mentioned Adam Scott. It's

(07:27):
hard to believe because when I thinkback on Adam Scott's year, I think
he was kind of in the hunta lot, and he made a lot
of cuts and you made it,you know, top twenty fives. It's
still how's Matt Kucher in? Andhe's not right right exactly? I think
Kucher's now the guy with the longeststraight, isn't he, you know,
as far as making it? Butyeah, I mean that's a great poll
by you. So, you know, I kind of thought Adam Scott had

(07:47):
a great year. It just goesto show you this one twenty five to
seventy makes a lot of difference. And I just want to chime in and
say this because we know that ourboy Austin Eckro did not make playoffs.
This just goes to show you howhard golf is. Austin he got one
second place finish, he had threetop tens, six top twenty fives,
and he still misses playoffs. Imean, Ben, he had I don't

(08:13):
have his in front of me,but he got I think finished twice second
and still got in on the number. That's how That's how hard this game
is. Good stuff, great drama. I think it's it's so cool,
like the way it happens now withwith being more confined and heading into the
playoffs and then you know, we'llsee what happens this week in Memphis and

(08:33):
see if these guys are able tocapitalize. But let's take a quick break
and we will be right back withmore. All right, and welcome back
to Swing It and Ding It.We are joined by Kat Ramirez from Golfing
Buddy. Very very excited to talkto you, Kat about how this came
about. You know what you guysare up to lately. I mean,

(08:54):
you know the tagline basically is joined, Match, connect and play more golf,
right, which is what we allwant to do, and I think
this is a cool way to doit, to talk about how this whole
thing came about. Yeah, soI'm from the Midwest, So my husband
and I are golfers. We lovegolfing. We're not pros like you guys.
Apparently you guys have pros, noteven I know a lot of pros.

(09:18):
Yeah, we're casual golfers. Andthe six months of the year that
it's winter here, so whenever inthe summer you want to play golf,
right as much as it's beautiful,And one weekend it was super beautiful,
I couldn't play because I'm an entrepreneur. My husband dying to play. I
said, hey, call your buddies. Couldn't find anybody all weekend? Can
you believe that to golf? Andso I said, hey, wouldn't it

(09:41):
have been cool if there was anapp or a website where you could find
a golfing buddy and then you didn'thave to play alone or you didn't have
to sit at home. Because he'snot the kind of guy that would go
by himself. So thus was born. Yeah. Yeah, but you know,
golfing buddy to me is all alittle more than that because as a
female and minority, it's really hardto play golf, especially as a beginner,

(10:09):
and the intimidation is overwhelming. Okay, it's way too much. And
I'll tell you that. You know, even when we go play together and
we get paired with somebody and we'renot early morning golfers, so we're not
with the serious guys, right, you know, we're probably mid afternoon,
you know, ten eleven, youknow golfers, and you know, if

(10:31):
just the cringe factor if we getset up with someone and for instance,
one time we got set up andthe two guys never said one word to
me at all the whole time. And so my husband and we've you know,
paid for eighteen holes and by theturn, I said, you know,
this is not fun for me.And he was okay with that,
and he's like, you know what, let's just you know, have a

(10:52):
drink and then leave and you knowwe'll be done with it. But that
happens a lot. It happens toa lot of people. And I think
the big thing is, you know, golf courses need to understand and know
that if you're not paired correctly, you're never going to come back ever,
right, you know, and Iwant people to be empowered to find their

(11:13):
own golfing buddy, to pair themselvesup with people just like them. So
really adding more diversity, more inclusionon the golf course so that people do
feel welcome and they feel comfortable golfing. Yeah, that's interesting you bring that
up, because a lot about golfor what's fun about it is who you
play with. And if you're matchedor paired with, you're playing with buddies

(11:35):
that you're really comfortable with, chancesare you're going to have a better day
and like you said, you're goingto be more willing to want to get
out there again. But how doesyour app, because there are other apps,
how does your app target maybe whatwould be a better pairing or a
better match for the person. Yeah, so when you create an account,
you know, very similar to anyother type of profiling account, you have

(11:58):
to put in you know, doI want to play with you know,
other guys or girls or both?Or do you know, am I a
fun golfer walker? Am I anine hole? Eighteen hole? There's you
can there's an optional for score, but it's not the premise. The premise
is about personality and what do youlike and what do you want to do?

(12:18):
You know, are you a beerdrinker when you golf? Or your
cigar smoker? Are you a jokester? Are you a gambler? You know
those things that are important, right, those things that are really just mentioned
moose right there and the descriptions.Yeah, And so then when people go
on, then it will match themwith those people that they want to be

(12:39):
matched with so similar to them,or they can change their match you know,
they can change it based on ifthey have an event and they need
to find a golfing buddy for thatprofessional event. Right, So it really
does on the back end does thematching and all the hard work. And
on the front end people just needto upload and know, you know,

(13:00):
to tick all the marks so thatthey get paired accordingly. But you know,
to me, the biggest part is, you know, I want to
play with someone just like me,and it really is hard to find people
just like me, because if I'mnot on a golf course every day,
how am I going to find thatperson? Right? Yeah? So what

(13:20):
is the radio? So how manystates are you in? How many people
are on the app? And youknow, if any of our listeners you
know, are looking for a golfingbuddy and go on and register. What
is the likelihood that they're getting pairedwith somebody with a certain square square ds
square maall radios don't worries. Yeah, yeah, we are a startup.
So as a startup, we havenow two thousand on the app in two

(13:45):
thousand on our Facebook groups. Andto me, that's a huge feed,
you know, for some or anorganization. It's a startup. The diversity
or the where it is geographic isall over mostly though it's going to be
the Florida, Texas, La whatis it. Yeah, yeah, it's

(14:07):
mostly the sunny states, but Floridareally, you know, that just surprises
me. Yeah, and Chicago, like there's big cities, like there are
a lot of places where people arejust looking for golfing buddies. And I
like to see the anomalies. Ido like to see the small out of
nowhere, you know, Idaho orIowa. You know, I do like

(14:31):
to see that. And people domessage me and they say, hey,
nobody here, nobody's here in myarea, and I Onway's message back,
Hey, I just upgraded you fora free account for a whole year.
If you can help me get theword out. That would be awesome,
you know, very cool. Yeah, yeah, I mean I think about
it too. You know, ifI were to move, if I would
have to move to a different statefor work, right, like, this

(14:52):
is something that I would be allover like, hey, I don't really
know anyone. Yeah, it's agreat way to meet people and network or
also like traveling for work, ifI have to go somewhere for a week
or two weeks, and you know, want to get out and play and
with someone who's like minded. AndI'm no, I'm going to have fun
with guaranteed instead of like that,Oh god, who am I going to
be paired up with as a single? You know, And it's it's like
a fifty fifty shot. So thatthat is a really cool aspect. And

(15:16):
I'm sure that's a big part ofwhat you guys do. Oh yeah.
And you know, and I lookat the banter. I love the banter
on the Facebook group because people goingback and forth, Hey I'm playing this
weekend, anybody can come and joinme, you know, blah blah blah.
And it's just fun to see theengagement in the banter and how all
this comes together. You know, that's cool. And obviously the app,

(15:37):
i'd imagine is available any everywhere youcan get apps, right, yep,
yep, absolutely so download the app, but also the website's golfing Buddy dot
info. You're on Instagram and Twitter. Your Twitter's at golfing Buddy underscore and
then on Instagram at golfing dot Buddy. But you know, it's this is
really cool and I love how youtarget it too towards you know, women,

(15:58):
minorities, parents of junior golfers. That's got to be, you know,
something that's really intimidating. You know, you want your son or daughter,
you know, who's experiencing the game, and you want them to be,
you know, enjoy it. Andthis is a big part to find
somebody, you know, who theywould enjoy playing with. And then you
also go with disabled and beginners andif you know beginners, that's the other

(16:21):
thing, you know, along withjuniors. But I find it even like
when I first joined a club,I was so intimidated to like, you
know, maybe go up and asksomebody to you know, to play,
because it's it. Golf is anintimidating thing. It really is. You
want to it's hard to do andyou don't want to. You don't want
to infringe on the people you're playingwith if you're playing maybe poorly that day.

(16:41):
It's it's there's a lot going on. So I love this stuff.
Yeah, And I love that youmentioned that that if you belong to club,
because I have people that make thisinterpretation that they belong to a club
and now they're part of this elitesociety and they can go off with anyone.
And it's funny how many people havejoined golf Buddy, that our club
members that say, hey, I'ma part of this club, anybody want

(17:03):
to golf with me because I haveno one to play with? Very cool,
very cool. Well, we willmake sure we post everything in our
socials linking you guys golfing Buddy. You know, the easiest way is just
to download the app, I wouldimagine, right and just learn all about
it, or go to the websiteand learn about you know what might fit
you first. Absolutely absolutely, yes, yes, say thank you so much

(17:27):
and thanks for having me on yourshow. I appreciate it absolutely, Thanks
for joining us, good luck withthe app, thank you, thank you.
All right, let's take a quickbreak. We'll be right back,
all right, and welcome back toswing it and ding it. Pretty cool
concept. I love a nice entrepreneurin the game of golf. There's so
much of it popping up and it'slike, okay, this thing. I

(17:48):
could see why this works, right, there's the need they're filling it.
Yeah, great, great stuff. So interested to see how this grows and
learn some more for sure. I'lltell you what I learned something last week
at Bethpage Black that there are incrediblydifficult golf courses in this country. I
should probably not play them too.I mean, first, what an incredible

(18:11):
experience, Like if anyone has achance to do it, go do it
right, regardless of your skill level, Like, go enjoy it and you
see all that has to offer. The cool part is it's a New York
State park. It's a public course, right, the locker, the clubhouse,
the facilities, it's all like, you know, not high bones,
bare bones. It is. Youknow. We were fortunate enough Greeney's brother

(18:33):
Eric lives there, so he wasable to set the advanced tea time.
But when we were leaving at fivethirty or whatever time it was six clock,
there were people camped out for thenext day to get the first tea
times. So every day of thegolfing season, there's hundreds of people camped
out trying to get on this course. There's five courses there, but you
know, people want to play theBlack course and it's walking only, walking

(18:53):
only. We were fortunate enough becausethere's limited caddies. What we reserved in
advanced, so we had two cases. Uh, Like I said, it's
Greeny myself, Erican and Factor youknow, fact Money, who did a
little Twitter takeover, you know Isaw yeah, and I's gonna say smok
through some of it. I've seensome Instagram stories of you too. Let's
yeah a little bit about here's theperiod part. Like if if people said

(19:15):
to me, what's the we knowit's challenging. What's the hardest part?
Right? Obviously the rough, thelength, the hills, but the bunkering
on this course is just it's incredible. They are everywhere, they are steep,
they are they roll into each other. So you have to be not
only long, but you have tobe precise. If you're off in the
rough, it is really hard.It is you know, a lot of

(19:37):
undulation, but just so much fun, like more wide open than I expect.
Right, Like, you know, you can find your ball, whether
you can play it out and youknow, the hack out and get it
to the fairway, you can.But you know those guys, you know
fact money is a single digit. You know Greeni's is a single digit.
They play well, but like evenat that, you're out of your best

(20:00):
round to you know, to breakninety there. But it was it was
a blast, so much fun,so much fun being up there. Now,
the interesting part is so the caddies. It's almost like the upside down,
like nothing makes sense there. Justthrow out, throw out everything you
know about golf, because it's justsomething is off. Like the putting.
You're like, all right, how'sthis break? Like like two cups,

(20:21):
He's like, no, straight atit. They call it no break Beth
Page and they said, like therest of the course is so hard.
They feel like they try to maketheir greens a little easier, but doing
that almost makes it harder because likeyou're like, it has not break,
but it doesn't break. Yeah.So just so cool, really really cool
place. You know, can't waitto get back up there eventually. But

(20:44):
yeah, it was. It wasa lot of fun. Now, did
you drive up the day of anddrive home the day Yeah, we were
gonna we thought we were gonna havea morning time. We didn't get a
time until two thirty, so thatwas cool. We were able to drive
up and the problem was we gotthere very early. We went and got
some New York bagels, you know, but then you're sitting there and you're
looking at that first tea for hoursand it's like, oh God, like

(21:04):
imagine camping out and looking at forand they had so they're hosting the Ryder
Cup in because it's twenty five,so they had all the Ryder Cup merch
in there. I bought a coupleof things. I walked out with a
bang, you know, nothing crazy. They didn't have a lot of my
size economy. Yeah, yeah, but we had a blast. Always fun
to play with Fact Money and Greenyand his brother Eric. Great group and

(21:27):
good caddies, good caddies, youknow, they they were fun. They
you know, took care of theheavy part, which was the most important
because I can't imagine walking and carryingyour bag on that first like it would
be very difficult. And talk tome about walking and carrying a bag the
staff for six Yeah, but alot of fun. You know. It's

(21:48):
weird, like sometimes I was outthere, and I like, I saw
a little bit of like Philly cricket, right, what's the same designer,
same designer right, like that Waltstraw wing foot Yeah, same yep.
Every now and then I was like, oh, this has a little similarity
to Yeah, I mean, justa blast, just just a lot of
fun. So and then I wouldplay with our friend John Clark on Monday

(22:10):
over at Saint David's for the EdSnyder Youth Hockey Foundation, outing what a
beautiful place that is. That wasthe first time playing there. Great course,
you ever played there? No,I never played there. I've driven
past it. It's not it's notfar from my house. Is that their
first year doing it there? Theyhave like a series of events, So
I'm not sure if if I meanthey played like Mary and Iron like they
play like the top courses too,So I'm not sure exactly where that falls

(22:32):
in. But yeah, that wasa lot of fun. I'm Kevin Rafferty,
former Villanova basketball player who's inn ourgroup too, So two tallest guys
in the course with John, KevinRafferty. But we played played pretty well,
played pretty well. And then tomorrowit's my ac AC Golf trip,
so playing Renault in the morning, see View in the afternoon, and then
playing Great Bay. If you remember, we had Frank Rocko on from Great

(22:55):
Bay who took over ownership. Sodying to check that place out on Friday,
so that looking for Instagram. Yeah, yeah, no doubt. If
I could shake this little sinus infectionI have, things will be cute and
sinus infections just it's a recurring thinghere. Yeah, something's been working.
But Holse was sick for a week, so I knew I was gonna come.
But hopefully I'll fight it off.But we'll be sick or not.

(23:18):
Though you're not going to turn downbeing America's yes this summer. No,
no, no way, no way. And what I hope is that these
courses is there are plenty of placesto go to the bathroom, because that's
a huge topic in golf right now, right And one of the top players
in the world doesn't care about whatDanielle. He doesn't want more money,
he doesn't need more perks. Hejust needs a porta potty on every whole
exactly, John rom and Yesterday's presswhere he goes. I can tell you

(23:42):
right now, my priorities are alot lower than what a lot of people
would think. He continues, ifI have to, if I go by
request. I know this is goingto sound very stupid, but as simple
as having a freaking porta Potti onevery hole. I know it sounds crazy,
but I can't choose when I haveto go to the bathroom. I
told the tour this many times,as simple as that. And Harry and

(24:03):
I ahead of the show, we'retalking half the times I'm afraid to drink
water when I'm out there because I'mlike, when's the next time I'm going
to have a chance to use therestroom. It's And we heard Ricky what
I remember like three tournaments ago. He's like, I'm going to tell you
what he's like. You might notwant to hear it, but it was
uncomfortable coming in. He bogat thefinal two holes of I think it was

(24:23):
Friday, where he's playing the frontnine last as his last night, and
he bogied the final two holes becauseyou gotta go to the bathroom. He
carries that huge water bottle too, right, So yeah, I mean,
And also, especially this time ofyear, it's like ninety five plus degrees
out there, it's so hot hydratedand there's coolers on everyone. But I'm
telling you, I think last weekI maybe only saw three or four players

(24:48):
restrooms and at Max and that's overthe course of eighteen holes. Wow.
Wow, So there was there wasa little bit more news. It seems
like a lot of nothing. Right, there was a player's meeting, not
many showed up. You still, should j be the guy? Should Jay
not be the guy? Tom HOGI, you know, had had a sound
by saying he still doesn't know ifthis deal actually will happen, so,
you know, then you have theTiger news with Tiger joining the board,

(25:11):
so there is still a lot ofswirl going on for this and a lot
to be figured out, and acouple of big names endorsed Monahan from what
I understand. But then there wasa lot of no shows at this meeting.
Yeah right, yeah, oh yeahyeah. What do you think about
the implications of Tiger joining the board? I may think it makes a big
difference. Well, I mean, his voice carries a lot of weight.

(25:33):
I'd say probably him and Rory arethe two voices in golf that matter the
most as far as the players, and of course Tiger's playing days are all
but over unfortunately at least it appears. And so I like the fact that
he wants to stay not only involvedwith the game at this level, but
you know, sort of move, you know, sway his influence around to

(25:56):
make the game better and make it, you know, in a in a
vision that you know his vision, because I think we can all pretty much
agree if Tiger says it's good,it's probably good. Yeah. First time
in his twenty seven years on tourjoining the PGA Tour Policy Board. I
think it kind of shows a littlebit of his support for j but also

(26:17):
maybe he's just thinking about Charlie beingon tour in ten years. He's trying
to set it up for his son, you know, very true, very
true. He also have Bryson whogoes out fifty eight live golf Greenbrier fourth
Pro. At that they said, like they had a like freight rephrase.
It was like fourth pro at thetop level, right, because it's it's
a live golf situation. And thefunny part is right, it's like,

(26:40):
yes, does he mash the ball. He does, but he hits the
He hits a thirty five foot putto win, which is super ironic.
And he had a Bogey, whichis crazy. And the crazy part is,
you know, his excellency or whateverwe call him, he was four
shots away from that fifty four milliondollar prize. Think about that, Like,
yes, he shot to shoot fifth, but like four more shots he's

(27:02):
probably had them out there. Hebogied one hole, right crazy? So
yeah, I mean, I don'tcare wherever it happens. I mean last
time was what Fuorich and uh sixteenat the Travelers. But Bryson gets to
win and it's all over social media. Then you have him and Phil,
so it's everywhere every Yeah, yeah, the Tiger or Tiger. Listen to
me Phil and Bryson thing I havebookmarked on YouTube because I'm going back to

(27:25):
watch it. We had a bigwager. If you if you listen to
the audio of Phil going through allthe wagers side my goodness, he's done
it before. Yeah, this isn'tPhil and betting is no stranger to each
other. Tremendous, tremendous stuff. But you know, it all leads us

(27:45):
to the playoffs, the FedEx SaintJude Championship, the top seventy, then
you go to the fifty for theBMW. All the big guns, right,
rom Rory Scheffler. Last year hehad Zaltours who wanted at at fifteen
under and twenty one yet feed outtwenty under, So there's some scores to
be had out there. We willtalk about the course of course with Harry
Mays EPC South Wind, Memphis TCsoath Win. Yeah, yeah, but

(28:10):
Harry, what are you thinking about, you know, just this tournament and
then we'll we'll tee you up forthe course of course. Well, I
mean, you know, there's alot at stake here because you know,
the next step is fifty. Hereyou're at seventy. The next step is
fifty to get to the BMW outof Olympia Fields. But what that also
gets you is into the signature eventsfor next season. If you get into

(28:32):
the top fifty, you're automatically inthose And you know what that means.
A bunch of these are no cutevents. It's guaranteed money, it's bigger
money. It's more FedEx Cup pointsbeing doled out for these these eight events.
So there's a lot at steak. It's not just you know, focusing
on the top thirty. That fiftynumber is gonna is gonna become a big
deal because of what it gives theseguys next year as far as bigger money

(28:56):
opportunities. There's also Ryder Cup implicationsthat that team is not. You know,
there's a lot of rumors going around. I know, Freddie Couples on
a radio show leaked a couple ofnames that he said were locks that aren't
that would be captain's picks and he'sI think he said, Max Homa h
Cameron Young, which kind of surprisedme a little bit. And Jordan's Speeth.
We're basic locks, you know.As JT gonna get in there and

(29:18):
he's out, he doesn't have anymore golf to play to work his way
in. But some of the moreguys Stan Burns, right, Bryson,
Yeah, right, exactly, yeah, right Brooks. They still have golf,
we know, right, So youknow, there's there's a lot at
Steak. We got a couple ofguys up at the top, Scottie Scheffler
and Rory mackelrid changing their putters comingin, you know, going from Scottie

(29:42):
Cameron's to tailor made spiders and reverse. You know. So there's a lot
of a lot going on here.Looking forward to it, tinking, yeah,
I want to know, could thisbe the last year that we see
playoffs like this, Like nobody reallyknows, like what does realignment's gonna look
like? Yeah, very true.I'm kind of interested, Like that's kind
of like watching this, I'm like, I guess this is the last time

(30:03):
we see it like this. Yeah, they very well could be, very
well could be so, Harry mays. The course of course tell us Yeah,
TPC south Wind was made in lateeighties, eighty eight eighty nine down
in Memphis, par seventy for theseguys seventy two hundred yards not super super
long. There's only two par five's, number three and number sixteen, and
they play as the easiest holes onthe golf course. Six of the twelve

(30:26):
par four's measure four fifty to fivehundred, So approach shots to figure in
here one fifty to one seventy fiveand one seventy five to two hundred make
up half of the approaches on thegolf course. If you're looking into,
you know, fantasy type stuff designedby Ron Pritchard. Now, if that
name sounds familiar, it may bebecause you know that he was part of

(30:49):
the redesign of the nineteen twelve club. Now, huh, along with Tyler
Ray a couple of years ago. He's also a Donald Ross restaurant rations specialist
and a local guy. I believehe's out of Lansdale, PA. So
he has the signature design. Hegot a couple of tour pros, Fuzzy
Zeller and Company, you know, giving him advice while he designed it.

(31:12):
But it's his design. Zoysia Fairways, Bermuda Rough and Bermuda Greens. It's
right next to the FedEx campus.Okay, I've been there. I came.
I went to this event back intwenty nineteen and sweating my tail off.
It is hot, it is muggy. It's a swamp, it really
is. But it's a great golfcourse and a great event. Brooks Kepka

(31:33):
won it that year. And Itook JT in my one and done and
I'm standing on the eighteenth tea watchinghim tee off and the eighteenth call is
a dog leg, a severe dogleg left with water all up the left
side, basically almost from tee togreen. Okay, it's in play on
both the shots. JT hooks hisdrive into the water and cursed himself up

(31:57):
and down for the next hundred andfifty yards I walked on the other side
of the ropes, cursing him aswell because there went my tournament. But
the back nine of this golf courseis really, you know, it's really
the thing. The water hazards onthe back nine are on ten, eleven,
twelve, fourteen, fifteen, seventeenand eighteen. Yeah, that's ninety

(32:17):
four bunkers. There's an island greenthe Part three eleventh, which was fashioned
after the Part three seventeenth as sawGrass there said bunkers. You give me
flashbacks. I still don't have allthe same of my shoes from right.
But these don't look like tilling hassbunkers. They're not as intimidating, but
there's just a lot of them. The fourteenth is a Part three over water

(32:38):
measures two hundred and forty yards fifteen. You got water up the left side
and the creek is on the leftand then it kind of there's an offset
approach to the green, similar tothe eleventh at TPC saw Grass and then
the third at Merefield Village sixteen. If there's a long par five. The

(33:00):
seventeenth there's a long par four witha small creek that bisects the fairway.
An uphill approach to a tiered greenand then the eighteenth we describe a lot
of drama, a lot of water, and it should be awesome, tremendous,
tremendous looking forward to it. Youknow, as we move into seeing
the line with our friends at DraftKings, don't forget from T to green.

(33:43):
not a terrible number in four thousand. Something to keep in mind.
Eight of the last twelve finished Ttwenty two or better in the previous start
here, and eight of nine hada T fifteen or better in one of
the two final majors, So somethingto consider when you are making your selections.

(34:28):
responsible gambling resources. Harry May,how do you see the line here?
That's a mouthful take a breath,but it's crazy some water? Yeah right,
Andy Reid. Uh, none ofthe previous five winners of this tournament
at this golf course or in thefield, either due to being on the
live tour, being injured in Zalaturus, or not qualifying in JT I find

(34:52):
that kind of interesting. Driver accuracyand mid iron approach are are premiums here.
I'm gonna go with Corey con ina matchup at minus one twenty over
Keegan Bradley sept Stracco you mentioned wasin the playoff last year, missed out.
I'm gonna take him over Cam Youngat plus money in him in a
matchup. He's more accurate off thetee and I just think that's going to

(35:14):
be a premium year plus one fifteenfor Straka. I'll also take him in
a top twenty at plus one eightyplaying some really good golf. And also
Jason Day is a guy I'm lookingat minus one ten over Sam Burns in
a matchup, and I'm taking himto win it at plus three thousand.
Always got a T T six andtwenty, a T ten and eighteen,

(35:35):
and he was T two in theopen, right Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I mean he's playing great. Morikawais another guy I'm looking at for
a win. It's gonna ask youwhat do I get with him because he's
sitting at number fifty seven and he'sgonna be trying real hard to get to
that love for him. I'm notseeing it, but a lot of love
for him, a lot of motivationfor him, and he's very accurate with
his driver. He doesn't hit itthat far as most of these guys.

(35:59):
He's very and he's one of thebest iron players there is. The putter
Works look out plus twenty two hundredfor a win and plus two ten for
a top ten and can't lay.I'll take in a top ten at plus
one fifty. All right, Danielle, are you in the fantasy contest?
We launched it late yesterday. I'mnot sure I saw it pop up.
We went and saw Oppenheimer last night, which was three hours of my life.

(36:19):
But I will be entering a lineuponce we get off this morning here,
and I was feeling your top pickwill be a man named Scotty Cheffler.
You guys know I love Chef,Like during the whole playoff, like,
I will be watching like to seeif Rory or Rom or Chef like,
who's gonna make like a strong claimto solidify that they were, in
fact the best player in twenty twentythree. So obviously it's our top guys.

(36:43):
And you know that I love Scottie, but you know I like Rom
too. But well, we'll see. We'll watch out because I took Scheffler
in my one and only I couldmost like Scotty Cheff, who has got
nineteen top twenty fives in his lasttwenty starts, seven straight top fives.

(37:05):
He's got fifteen top tens and hislast miss cut was this tournament last year.
Oh my god, think about that. That is wild. Yeah.
Yeah, I'm changing his putter. That's interesting. Yeah, very curiously how
that goes? You know, Italked about Headeki a little bit, like
I mentioned second in twenty twenty one, four thousand, Jason Day, I
like it at three thousand number, talked about why how about Denny McCarthy for

(37:29):
a for a plus eight thousand number, like why not? And then also
Harris English. So I've been ridinga little bit at eight thousand. You
know a lot of people do likephenwe for obvious reasons. You know,
I could see him winning this, but I'm leaning more towards some of the
other guys that talked about it alittle bit earlier. But yeah, excited
to watch this for sure. Ilike your Denny Pack coming off a miscut

(37:49):
last week. But I mean theway he rolls, rolls his butter,
like I feel like he can gethot at any moments. So absolutely no
doubt. Harry talked to us aboutmal Chevrolet a little bit if you don't
mind well, for eight years ina row, now you know mal Chevrolet,
they've been South Jersey's number one Chevydealer. Now it could be because
you know, they treat their customersjust right. That's why mals Chevy.
They've been voted a top one hundreddealer in the entire country for customer satisfaction.

(38:14):
But we still think it's because ofthat motto we sell Chevies for less.
So find your perfect drive at maulChevrolet. Visit Maul Chevrolet on Haddonfield
Road in Cherry Hill, right acrossfrom the Cherry Hill Mall, or check
them out online at mal Chevy dotcom. Beautiful. Thanks to kat Ramirez
from Golfing Buddy for hopping on.We all think we have like plenty of

(38:35):
friends to play golf with, butwe've all had that time. Like man,
I'd love to get out tomorrow. You can't play if the work you
have the kids, So give thema look, give them a download.
Maybe you'll meet some great people thatare like minded and will become your golfing
buddies for life. Right absolutely, and don't forget to check out the women
We got the US or not theUS. The Women's Open over in over
in England at Walton Heath. It'sa pretty cool golf course. Ashley or

(38:59):
Ashley boo Hi defends and Selene Boutiergoing for three in a row. She's
really hot. And also the USWomen's Amateur is out at Belair Country Club.
You don't get to see this golfcourse ever on TV. George Thomas
designed. It's very private, tuckedin between, you know, right near
UCLA's campus. It doesn't host anyother events, so if you want to

(39:21):
check it out, watch it onGolf Channel. The US Women's Amateur tremendous.
And we'll be back next week torecap the FedEx Saint Jude and look
ahead to the top fifty for theBMW. See you next week. Give
it a listen, swing it andding it.
