Speaker 2 (00:25):
Just got to get out there and swing and ding it.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Yeah, you know, I guess it's gonna go out there
and try to swing it and ding it.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
All right, Hello and welcome to swing it and ding
it on location as we'd like to do once a
year at the beautiful Country Club of Scranton for the
NIPA Invitational in year four.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Very proud of.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
The Matthews for what they're doing out here. It does
seem that we always get the nicest day of the tournament.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Sometimes I feel bad about that, but yeah, we need
to start moving.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
This till Thursday Friday, I think.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Harry mays we will talk about our round.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Yeah a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Danielle, great to see you in person.

Speaker 5 (01:02):
I love this. I feel like you guys have to
move to Jupiter so we can.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Be together and I'm in on that.

Speaker 6 (01:07):
Yeah, my wife would love to get rid of me.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
And of course We're joined by Brandon Matthews, fresh off
of his practice round. Brandon, thank you again for having us.
First of all, congratulations for what is growing into an
incredible event, Like something that started as an idea.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
We talked about this with you.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
I guess about a month ago is now turning into
something incredibly special.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
We're proud of you and what you're doing.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Just talk about this weekend and how everything's coming to play.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yeah, it's been great.

Speaker 7 (01:37):
You know, I can't do this without my entire board, right,
everyone from my agent Drew obviously, my wife is the
term director this year. She's done an amazing job. Eric Shrive,
I mean, I can't say enough about him. He's been
incredibly instrumental, and that's the least I could possibly say, right.

(01:58):
I mean, he put together a dinner that four hundred
people tonight for Harmony for Hope, And I actually asked him,
I'm like, how do you still actually have a job
that pays you? Because I mean he's put so much
time and effort into this, and you know he was,
uh he was alignment at Penn State and he's like
six eight, So I wouldn't want to say no to

(02:20):
him either. Uh So it's uh, but he's been tremendous
and he's playing in this and uh, you know, I
hope he just has the greatest weekend and enjoys himself
because he's put in so much hard work. But you know,
everyone on this board deserves so much credit. You know,
Danielle and I obviously do our fair share, but we
definitely couldn't do this.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Without them, no doubt. So obviously this benefits some local charities.
Janet Weiss Children's Hospital. We'll talk about some of that
and what you guys haven't kind of gone on tonight,
But let's talk about the golf for a second. Since
we just got off the golf course. Talk about the event.
Who you know people that are coming out to play.
You know, we talked about it when you're wrong, right,
this is we're incre and Pa, right. So I'm sure

(03:01):
at first when you tell people, hey, you're coming out here,
but as we know, once you're here, this is someplace
you want to come back to. So talk about talked
about some of the guys you have coming out and
their thoughts on the place.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Yeah, you know, it's incredible.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
The hardest thing is to get people to Scranton, right.

Speaker 7 (03:13):
The first year, and once we get them here the
first year, they never want to miss it because how
special a place this is. The people in Scranton, Pennsylvania,
and Northeast Pennsylvania in general are just all, you know,
down to earth, blue collar people. They're fun to be around,
so welcoming to all the professionals and amateurs that come
in to play, and it's just it's been so much

(03:36):
fun to see what we've made of this and hopefully
we continue to grow it because it's something I've had
in my mind for a long time and it's just
a bonus to be able to give back too, write
and have a platform to be able to do that.
But you know, Junior Golf is a big proponent of
this event, and you know, we start a scholarship for

(04:00):
one of my mentors, right, Billy Lawler, and we continue
to do that every year. We had a Junior Golf
clinic the other day and just had a fantastic turnout
for that.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
It was it was great.

Speaker 7 (04:12):
And you know, beyond that, it's it's a platform for
some of these pros that are up and coming, right,
you know, like perfect example, we had Ben Griffin went
it the first year, right and you know, subsidize their
careers a little bit and be able to give them
a little bit more of a comfort pillow kind of
to go out and chase their dreams. And you know,

(04:35):
some some great kids have won at Dawson Armstrong.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Mike Miller helps helps them out a lot. Right.

Speaker 7 (04:41):
You know, golf is expensive to play and to play
for a living. It's you know, it takes a lot
of money, and we're fortunate enough to provide a little
bit of a purse to give these guys a little
bit more comfort.

Speaker 6 (04:53):
Yeah, you talked about the Junior Clinics.

Speaker 8 (04:55):
I was following you on Instagram all week and you're
looking at the videos and you know, the turn out
of the kids and they were just they were, you know,
hanging on your you know when you're out there showing them.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
How to hit a shot.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
But talk about how the local area has embraced the.

Speaker 8 (05:09):
Actual tournament with turnout and people were just coming out
to enjoy the golf.

Speaker 7 (05:13):
Yeah, it's amazing, and that's the thing we encourage people, right,
you know, come up and watch these professional golfers interact
with them up close.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Right.

Speaker 7 (05:23):
There was a couple of great tournaments that mister Wall
brought people up here. Ed Manley brought people up here
from Arius and there has been a lot of professional
golfers come through this place, and it's all you always
hear stories of the interactions that people had. You know,
my dad always talks about how my brother sat on
Fuzzy Zeller's lap, right, you know, those kind of things.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
So to be able to have these.

Speaker 7 (05:48):
Guys come up and playing an event like this and
people be able to interact with them up close is
something that's really cool and we encourage everyone, especially bring
your kids out and see some pretty good golf up close.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
Now, the person that's in charge of the greens here,
can you just point.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Out their vehicle for me.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
I'll tell you what.

Speaker 7 (06:10):
You know, Aaron is so amazing at what he does.
I mean, it's incredible, you know, just talking to him.
His intelligence about agronomy is just so off the charts
and the way he's able to maintain.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
This golf course.

Speaker 7 (06:30):
We get a lot of play here, you know, I
would I would say, without knowing the numbers, I would
say we have to be in the top one percent
of private clubs in the country with how.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Much play we get here.

Speaker 7 (06:41):
And he's able to keep this place in this kind
of condition for almost the entire year. And I don't
know what he does, but I can't imagine it's anything
short of a miracle. How he's able to maintain this place,
how he has We're so lucky to have.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Him, and you know, it's fine. I always tell people
the story.

Speaker 7 (07:02):
I first met him at the club up the road,
no name spelled backwards right, That's where I grew up,
playing fifty seven hundred yard public golf course.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
My dad paid fifty dollars a year for me to
be a member there, and he.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Started out on the ground screw there.

Speaker 6 (07:14):
Oh wow.

Speaker 7 (07:14):
And you know he obviously worked really hard and he
has his roots here. He loves this place, and I
haven't seen anyone work harder at their job than him.

Speaker 6 (07:24):
Yeah, we were joking.

Speaker 8 (07:25):
I was joking with Marco and Jim and Moose that
once you get to the green, I you know, just
let's just make it a tupuck because I have no
idea where spreag so I need a caddy and I
don't have that here. So but it's like the hole
was over once I hit the green. That's where the
work begins at this golf course. Once you hit the green.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Yeah, yeah, one hundred percent.

Speaker 7 (07:44):
It's the thing I love so much about this place
is you know, for someone that is is more of
the high level golfer, high caliber, your imagination can run
wild the different ways you could play shots right, and
you know, you look at a shot pin might be
in the middle of a green, right, and you can

(08:06):
hit it inside ten feet eight different ways and use
different slopes and you have to think your way so
well around here when it's playing, especially when it's playing
firm and fast. It's just one of my favorite courses
in the world, and it's so much fun to play.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Now.

Speaker 9 (08:21):
We always talk about a bunch of the courses in
you know, the Gap in the Philly area. We were
able to put together member for Day a bunch of
courses outside of Gap.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
But we also have currently an online auction.

Speaker 9 (08:32):
Hosting a plethora of courses that listeners can still bid on.
Talk about some of those courses that we have available
online that people can still kind of get a shot
at play.

Speaker 7 (08:43):
Yeah, I mean, there's so many great golf courses up here, right.
You know, you have Fox Hill, Elmhurst, Glenno, Glenn Mora.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
You know this place.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Obviously courses where you spent a lot.

Speaker 7 (08:54):
Of Fox Hill was where I was a member during
high school, and I mean I you know, and sun
up to sun down there almost every day of the summer.

Speaker 6 (09:02):
Right.

Speaker 7 (09:03):
Another great golf course, Wyoming Valley. It's one of the
original tilling hasse in the country. And it's it's so good.
I played there the other day. They did a restoration.
Andrew Green came in and did it, and he did
an unbelievable job. And the bunkers are now they used
to be kind of sketchy right now, now they're fantastic.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
And that place is just one of the most fun
places to play. It's the hottest, right. Yeah, And he
came and he came into Wyoming Valley.

Speaker 7 (09:28):
This place is so rich in golf history Northeast Pennsylvania
because when this air area was booming during the coal era,
right it was golf course architecture Golden Age. So you know,
we have six tilling Hasse, we have a Walter Travis
and then even past past that, we have a Reeche
Jones and herds and fry here, and you know, it's
pretty cool to see what we have here in this

(09:49):
little area that no one really knows about. But you know,
also in the auction, I mean you have Binghamton Country Club,
which is amazing, that's a tilling ass as well, just
an hour north of here in New York, right, and
you have Shawnee right. I think that was actually the
first telling as if I'm if I'm not mistaken, the
first ever that he built. And then you know, Rolling

(10:09):
Green is I think one of the most underrated golf
course in afhiliate.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Great logo.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
We talked about way too much all the time, our
top ten and it made Ryan Gainos who rebutted our
top ten, but Stratton was in both of our top
tens as well.

Speaker 5 (10:23):
I feel like there's a by our top ten because
we drafted.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
Yes, yeah, true, right, yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 7 (10:29):
But it's uh, it's you know, Pennsylvania in general. You know,
it's I think it's one of the greatest golf states.
We have so many good ones, you know, and you know,
Oakmont and Marion obviously get talked about so much, but
beyond Oakmont and Marion, you know, you have another fifty golf.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
Courses that are just so spectacular.

Speaker 7 (10:49):
It's hard to choose, you know, a list from you know,
one to twenty because of how many good ones are got.

Speaker 8 (10:55):
The tour coming here twice next year where the US
open at Oakmont, and then critic.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Well, it's gonna be so fun, it's gonna.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Be so much and back around the moronomic.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
The PGA.

Speaker 9 (11:05):
Speaking of Philly Golf, we have some swag there for
SPT so slow play Teddy. That's right, he joined us
for a We just played one real quick.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Together, spirited hole golf. We played the.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Spirited, very spirited.

Speaker 9 (11:19):
Well, look at him sitting over there. He has no
idea where he's even out. I told him I'm putting
him in the home after this week.

Speaker 8 (11:24):
Well, he took my driver, he stepped up on the
tee and he smoked it in the loafers wearing loafers.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. I mean he just gets
up there. He doesn't care anymore. You know.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
It's he's got that mentality where he's like, he has
no idea.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Awesome, wells in congratulations again on an incredible day. Thank
you again for having us out here. I hope everything
goes well for the for the next couple of days.
And know guys are getting in uh probably today later
on today, and I'm gonna get out there and take
advantage of the course. But again, thank you for uh
for hosting this for this area. It's awesome to see
what this has grown into and continued to for many

(12:00):
years to come.

Speaker 7 (12:01):
Thank you guys, and just do a little rain dance
because you know, the only day it's supposed to rain
in a two week stretch up here, it's been bluebird
days and it's going to continue to be.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
Bluebird days after tomorrow.

Speaker 7 (12:12):
But hopefully we can skirt the rain a little bit
and everybody can have a great weekend.

Speaker 6 (12:15):
Awesome, beautiful.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
Thank you, Brandon Matthews, Thank you guys. All right, let's
grab Marco to come up. But just a reminder, we
are sponsored by Comcast Business, introducing Ultimate Speed for Business,
the fastest Internet plans yet from Comcast Business, Powering Possibilities
and drafting sportsbook.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
We will see the line maybe for a little NFL
you know.

Speaker 6 (12:34):
Oh yeah, right, it's a big one tonight.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Thank go Bird's Brandon.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
By the way, sorry I forgot to say that, but yeah,
you proud of you, proud of Hubs.

Speaker 5 (12:43):
Oh my god, It's it's incredible.

Speaker 9 (12:44):
I mean, it's it's wild to think that we haven't
done this and being in year four and then tonight,
like I said, I said, I might be wearing this
to the gallus And because I'm not missing the pot,
I missed it last week.

Speaker 5 (12:54):
I was so distrayed, like we always do it Wednesdays.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
It's awesome to just see him swinging freely out there
watching him play golf.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
That's awesome, I mean.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
And that's what I said. I'm like, look, we have
a billion things going on. You go and play. I'll
handle the baby. You see her in the morning, night like,
just focus, get ready.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Yep, no doubt, no doubt. Uh.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
Marko Corolla from Ticks for Good, who played, They played
around with us, But feel like I went twelve rounds
with Tyson playing that round. How are you feeling after playing?
The country loves Marco?

Speaker 10 (13:22):
Tired without a doubt. That play this place is unbelievable. Yeah,
I've never seen greens like it.

Speaker 8 (13:28):
Yeah, he plays a lot of Yeah, Marco hits it
great man, tell you and the Greens wore all of
us out.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
Baseball player, He's got that baseball player. So Marko talk
about ticks are good? Tell us how this came about?
What you guys are all about.

Speaker 10 (13:41):
Sure, I'll tell you a little bit myself. First, I
joke only referred of myself as a retired school teacher.
And then a good friend of mine, Tim Chu, came along.
I was actually a head coach at RCSJ Cumberland. I
was the head baseball coach there and we had the
fundraise for everything that we did. And Tim is a
really good friend of mine, and he said, hey, man,
I think there's a better way for you fundraise. He goes,
what if I bought you really or we bought really

(14:03):
awesome sports tickets and you offer them to your player's
parents as a way to fundraise. I said, that sounds awesome,
and we did it and it was a huge success.
And fast forward about six or eight months, Tim says,
I want to go full time with this. How would
you like to come work for me? And I said,
I said, buddy, you got me. Actually, I think these

(14:25):
exact words were, how much do you need to make
to get you out of the classroom? I said, well, yes,
I said, I said, we can. We can. We can
cut a deal, Bud. Absolutely. So we've been I've been
full time for about fourteen months now. So what we
do is we source really awesome ticket prizes, hence the
name Ticks for Good. And what we do is we

(14:46):
team up with nonprofits and give these give the nonprofit
donors an opportunity to make a donation to their favorite nonprofit,
and in return, when they make that donation, they're entered
in to win those ticket prizes. So I'll give you
a quick example. We have two tickets to go see
the twenty twenty five Masters. So you can go on
our website Ticks for Good dot org. You can pick
any one of our almost three hundred nonprofits and you

(15:08):
make as little as a twenty five dollars donation and
you're entered in the win two passes to Saturday and Sunday,
not just the practice round, you know. So we we
like the premium you know, ticket packages for a low
buy in and it all goes to a good cost.

Speaker 6 (15:22):
Wow. What a cool idea, I mean, like, you know what, like,
how do you have brainstorm that?

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Like?

Speaker 6 (15:27):
What was that like coming up with? Oh yeah, yeah,
that's what we're gonna do.

Speaker 10 (15:31):
So Tim olrelish in my comment here. But Tim's a
pretty smart guy. He you know he I think he's
been cooking up this idea for quite some time. And
for me, you know, I saw it as as a
way I'll say, as on the nonprofit side, raising money
for a for a junior college baseball team. I said,
there's a lot of other people out there like me
that need this help. Yeah, you know, they're doing everything

(15:52):
else in the world. They're raising families, they're they're they're
trying to do their job as best as they can.
For me, you know, with my players in my students,
I didn't have time to go out there and play
golf tournaments, you guys know how long that takes, or
playing dinners or galas or beef and beers, you name it.
Whatever it was. So it just seemed like such a
no brainer. This was such a good idea, and I'm

(16:14):
so happy I jumped on board.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
No doubt.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
So tell us about like, you know, if you're a
business looking at it involved, if you're a nonprofit, or
if you're just someone that's looking to find out more
about it was the best way to do all that.

Speaker 10 (16:23):
Sure, go to Ticks for Good dot org. There's a
work with us tab fill that out. If not, just
simply send me an email Marco at Ticks Forgod dot org.
And as far as a business goes, we source all
of our prizes through sponsors. You know, we are a
nonprofit ourselves, and what we give in return to our
businesses is exposure on all different types of media platforms,
this one being an example. We have a Goaded putter

(16:45):
sitting on the table. Here are good friends at Goaded Putter,
you know, created these custom putters for us, and they're
really awesome. They are They're like the coolest thing that
I have in my golf bag. So today I got
to Kevin, who sells us to go to it needs

(17:06):
a better handler than me to to take down the
Country Club of Scranton, because.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
It was almost like a goodwill hunting scene. I grabbed myself,
it's not your fault.

Speaker 10 (17:16):
Yeah, it's not your fault.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
Yeah, it's not your fault. Just kept telling them because
you know.

Speaker 10 (17:20):
I certainly was not a savant on the greens today,
I'll tell you that. But uh yeah. So we use
really awesome things like these putters to get our sponsor's
name out into the world. We go on really awesome
podcasts like this. We put our sponsor's logo on our website.
You know, our website gets the traffic of over two
hundred and sixty nonprofits and a ton of other things. iHeartMedia,

(17:42):
you know. We we we get our sponsors out there
in any way possible that we can. And as far
as the nonprofit goes, is as simple as going on
our website and signing up. It's free to sign up,
there's no there's no upfront costs, there's no obligation to
use any one of our prizes. You can use all
of them or one of them. There's no minimum that
you have to raise, and you get your cut of everything.
So it's a seventy two to twenty eight split of

(18:04):
everything that we raise as of right now, we're hoping
at one point that we're able to give one hundred
percent of our proceeds back to our nonprofit. That's the goal,
and the nonprofits are the core of this entire thing
that we do.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
Awesome, great stuff. Make sure you check it out.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
Ticks for good great playing with you today, Yeah, dude,
this looking forward to playing some more.

Speaker 10 (18:21):
Oh my goodness, this was awesome.

Speaker 6 (18:22):
Talk about how because it happened to all of us.

Speaker 8 (18:25):
Yeah, how these greens getting your head where you're just
like your first couple of putts might go way by
and then all of a sudden, you're like afraid to
hit it.

Speaker 10 (18:33):
So I was fooled. The first three holes, I parted
two out of three, right, my first two out of
three holes. I felt pretty good. I was getting off
the tee, I was putting the ball in the green.
I two putted a couple of holes. Once we got pressed,
once we pressed after number three, once we got what,
thanks Jim, Thanks you Jim pressing once Jim pressed.

Speaker 6 (18:51):
On the par five.

Speaker 10 (18:52):
Yeah, And then Harry asked me what my handicap was.
And I was just about that and I knew that
was a piece of gamesman ship. And I told Leicester interrogated,
I thought it was.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
It was.

Speaker 10 (19:00):
It was a more of an interrogation.

Speaker 6 (19:04):
I just wanted to know what it was.

Speaker 8 (19:06):
It turns out there wasn't any Oh I don't have one, and.

Speaker 6 (19:09):
I'm like, I hate to do it.

Speaker 10 (19:11):
He told me that was a stone violation. Those were
his exact words. And from there, I had a birdie
putt and I ended up four putting.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
I had welcome to the country.

Speaker 10 (19:20):
I had a birdie putt from about sixteen feet and
I ended up four putting.

Speaker 6 (19:24):
Yeah, you too.

Speaker 10 (19:25):
And it was the most un and from there I
was like, Okay, I'll shake that one off, no problem.
And then I did it two or three more times
before the end of the front nine, and from there.

Speaker 6 (19:34):
I just need to shrink.

Speaker 10 (19:35):
From there, I resigned myself to just hit it in
hope and there's just there's just not a better way
for me to do this without a caddy. So thanks Harry,
appreciate you, no doubt.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
All listen, thanks for coming up. Thank you guys.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Listen?

Speaker 3 (20:24):
We've been talking, you know, I haven't. I've been played
with you.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
We've been talking about your progress.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
And I told you, I said, I've never seen you
hit the ball harder, Yeah than I see you hitting it.

Speaker 8 (20:32):
Right, yeah, on some on some of the holes.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
That back farther.

Speaker 6 (20:37):
You know, it's it happens. It happens more on a place.

Speaker 8 (20:40):
That I'm familiar with when I'm out here this place
where I'm really not that familiar. He's still like a
little weird about a certain line you're taking off the
tee or whatever, and you don't really maybe go at
it just quite as hard.

Speaker 6 (20:50):
But it's getting better, man, it really is.

Speaker 10 (20:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (20:53):
And I tell you the drive and the five would
that you hit on eighteen if you could.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
Just bottle that, Yeah, that's all I'm gonna remember from today.

Speaker 6 (21:01):
Well, yeah, that's about I mean, it was it was sublime.

Speaker 4 (21:04):
Yeah, that's all that's about it. Other than that, not
so good but a lot of fun.

Speaker 6 (21:09):
But you swung You even said I swung slower.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Yeah yeah, right, yeah I didn't.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
It was the easiest.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
Yeah. Yeah, how'd you feel, Danielle? Swinging the golf club.

Speaker 10 (21:18):
Look pretty good?

Speaker 9 (21:19):
The first time I took that I took it back.

Speaker 5 (21:22):
I heard my back on.

Speaker 9 (21:24):
I was like, okay. I was like, that's the first
time I moved like that in a minute. Well before
the junior clinic. The other day we were on the rain,
Quick grabbed one of his wages and I go, I'm
just gonna hit one shot and same same effect, And
I'm like, all right, I gotta start moving a little
bit here. But once I get back to Florida Babies
almost three months and I'll be in the Women's League,
I'll be ready to go for our next outing.

Speaker 5 (21:45):
Yeah, we'll be good to go.

Speaker 8 (21:46):
She rolled up to us on tenth on the tenth
hole and said she was cold, and I'm like.

Speaker 6 (21:52):
What, it's gorgeous out there today.

Speaker 9 (21:55):
It was called I put my hands on moose. I said, here,
it looks chill, like my hands are cold. I wrote
this son, beating down in the back, that I could
probably lose.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
The best, but spoiled down and fling.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
Marshmallow, I got soft, quake, the blood thinned.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
Wow, unbelievable. So it was, it was, but it got
nice Quick.

Speaker 5 (22:14):
It's beautiful.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
Yeah, my god, it's perfect out here, right, Yeah, tremendous,
big surprise Scotti Scheffler.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
Wins a Tour champions Yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:21):
Well it kind of is.

Speaker 8 (22:22):
Yeah, he had the lead coming into the last three
now and this one he finally puts it away.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
Yeah, but this year is different for him, man, Like
you know, it's funny because you know when he bogie's
seven and then he has the sandshank on eight and
Colin got within two, but then nine, ten to eleven,
Bird he goes back up plus five and just like
see you later.

Speaker 8 (22:40):
Yeah, he had that mentality, uh this week, like we've
seen him so many other tournaments where it's just like
when he wants to put.

Speaker 6 (22:47):
The foot down, he can just do it.

Speaker 8 (22:49):
Yeah, And I'm glad he won it because it you know,
it sort of rounds out one of the greatest years
that I've witnessed watching golf.

Speaker 6 (22:56):
And what seven wins.

Speaker 8 (22:58):
You know, you had the Major, you had the player,
you had the gold medal, and now the FedEx Cup.
I mean, you know, they somebody put this out. I
don't know who it was, and I apologize, but the
Tour money leaders for the year and his caddy was
like right in there like ten or something in the
top fifteen.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
Yes, Yes, unbelievable.

Speaker 5 (23:21):
Retired teacher.

Speaker 6 (23:23):
Yeah, yeah right, Greller, yeah yeah right.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
But it was interesting to see Calum Workala, who really
kind of like hung around all year, had a solid
season like he never really you know, he did no wins,
no wins, but you know.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
And of course Xander's in the top five he always is.

Speaker 9 (23:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (23:40):
He had to finish Birdie, Birdie, Bertie Uh to finish
nineteen under and a T four and included a chip
in for Bertie on the last hole I had him.
And of course this is the week that he kind
of plays a little bit average. Morikawa had the lowest
number of strokes, followed by Tigala.

Speaker 6 (23:57):
And then Scottie that it pays to get the lead, yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
Literally, and how about the gal gets in in the
President's Cup? Yeah, you know with Scheffler, Sander, Colin Wyndam,
Clark can't lay as the.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
Automatics auto picks. Yeah, and then it went.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
Straight chalk did uh did our buddy Jimmy Furick, Burns
Fee now Russell Henley, Yeah, Bradley Harmon Homa.

Speaker 8 (24:22):
Yeah, Homa was kind of surprising to me because that
played well this year. No, and he'll even admit it.
I mean, he was like dead last in one of
the playoff events. I think it might have been the
one that Memphis and played poorly the week after, so I,
you know, hopefully he can rebound. I mean, these guys
can find something like out on the range tonight and
you know, be back shooting four under par.

Speaker 9 (24:44):
Yeah, Max starting up a little.

Speaker 8 (24:50):
Bit, but it's the it was the start, the big
start of college football that weekend. I don't know how
much of this did you guys actually watch, because I
didn't watch that much of it.

Speaker 6 (24:58):
I was playing golf and I was watching college football.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
Yeah, not a time.

Speaker 4 (25:01):
I did watch some on Sunday. Yeah, but I just like,
I just like watching Scotti in a position like that
to see what he's gonna do.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
Yeah, yeah, I did.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
But I wanted this.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
I wanted him to get that stamp, to win this, right,
So there was no question he deserved to win it.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
And it was good.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
To see him go out and get it and get
the win. So yeah, good for him.

Speaker 4 (25:21):
And then and then Mike Weir had some decisions to
make Harold on the international side, uh with with a
lot of Canadians into play, but he couldn't have a
whole team of Canucks and.

Speaker 8 (25:28):
Yeah, he took three Canucks and I have that written
down here, only three Canucks.

Speaker 9 (25:32):
And I gotta say, Harry, I asked Moos, I said,
somebody write that for Harry.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
You have a really nice Yeah.

Speaker 8 (25:39):
Oh okay, Well I'll take that as a major compliment
because you know, half the time I'm writing this, I
got one eye, you know, closed. But Nick Taylor did
not make it. I thought that he might make it
because he has a win this season. Well, if you
remember way back in Arizona at the Phoenix, he won
that tournament and then he won Canada the last summer,

(26:00):
so within twenty months or so, he's got two wins
and he didn't make it.

Speaker 6 (26:05):
So Adam had when I knew it wasn't gonna make it.
I mean, you know, the guy.

Speaker 8 (26:08):
Can putt and he's shown you that he can notice
how to win. That kind of shocked me a little
bit that he didn't get picked. And Lee has done
nothing all season. We kind of expected him to have
a year because the previous year he kind of showed
promise kind of fizzled out. So I kind of was
a little surprised that he made it instead of Nick Taylor.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
But we'll see, Yeah, there was some surprise and then
breaking news that happened this week. They kind of caught
the Golf World way off guard, Like, I don't no
one saw this coming, right, You're you're wondering, like, is
the match?

Speaker 3 (26:39):
What's going on with that? You know, had its ups
and downs?

Speaker 6 (26:42):
Did it runs kind of jumps the shark kind of thing, right?

Speaker 4 (26:44):
And then all of a sudden it comes out that
Bryson and Brooks versus Rory and Scheffler in mid December
on TNT.

Speaker 6 (26:50):
You're like, whoa, Yeah, Bryson and Brooks what.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
We all wanted, Like we wanted some sort of sort
of tour versus live and now we're getting a small
sample of it.

Speaker 6 (26:59):
Yeah, I mean wild.

Speaker 5 (27:00):
Because the match.

Speaker 9 (27:01):
I went to Palm Beach and it was fine. I
mean I was even there in person. I'm like, okay,
but this, like you said, it's like Tour verse live.
I feel like this is for some major points, and
it also makes you wonder a little bit as something
else cooking.

Speaker 5 (27:12):
That they both, you know, are approved. Do you think
there's any PG.

Speaker 3 (27:19):
I'm sure they have to get I would think so.

Speaker 9 (27:22):
Yeah, somebody's orchestrating some point.

Speaker 8 (27:24):
I mean it is part of the silly season, as
they call it, so it's kind of their time off.
But yeah, I would imagine they'd have to be, you know,
the tour would have to approve a few things.

Speaker 6 (27:33):
But wasn't the one at the park that was.

Speaker 8 (27:35):
With Lexi right and Road? Was it Road saying yeah,
that was a cool that was Max home?

Speaker 2 (27:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (27:40):
Ry, Yeah, so Rory, this is a double match for him.

Speaker 4 (27:43):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, good good stuff. I mean, I'm looking
forward to I mean to watch it. They haven't said
if it's going to be a shadow shadow broken Shadow.

Speaker 5 (27:54):
They haven't.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
They haven't said, of course, yeah, they haven't. I don't think.
I don't know if a firm date has been.

Speaker 4 (28:00):
They said mid December, the last night I saw it.
I don't know if they've updated it since then.

Speaker 8 (28:04):
I can't get enough of Bryce and I think we're
all out there right and I'm dying to he's having
brooks together.

Speaker 4 (28:10):
Some of it I didn't really like, you know, I
don't know why I was a child to watch it. Yeah, yeah,
I didn't watch The John Daily one through and through.
But yeah, so we got a little bit of a
rebuttal from from Ryan Gano. We talked about it his
his but he cheated right because he ruled out the
top of the top four P. B. Marry and Ironomic
a cricket, and then he started the top ten from there, right,

(28:32):
he gave like a hundred of course, right, come on.

Speaker 5 (28:36):
Gave like two or three eight because we went down
the line and a.

Speaker 3 (28:38):
Draft, but we weren't too far off.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
But he, you know, he got some crap for for
going down the shore and picking a c country club
over Galloway.

Speaker 3 (28:46):
Some people gave him some crap for that.

Speaker 4 (28:49):
You know, he did have golf mills, he did have
white marshals with a lot of people reached out to
us and said, got it, have been on there Socking
Philly country Club and then he put Militia Hill. He's
a homer though, right, which I get it, but he's
a member so you gotta do it. Yeah, yeah, good
for Gano, Good for Gano.

Speaker 3 (29:03):
But yeah, he picked like fourteen courses.

Speaker 4 (29:06):
Yeah, you know yeah, and then you know it's funny though,
like the golf all season is short right now with
the Fall series, right, we have what the it's the
Pro Cure Championship. Yeah, it was the Fortnitete, the fortnet
and on the twelfth, and then Boom President's Cup at
the end of September and then right back around to
the Sanderson Sanders the first week of October.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
So it's like there's no very short off season.

Speaker 6 (29:27):
I'm sure the.

Speaker 5 (29:28):
Natural Yeah, yeah, I enjoyed.

Speaker 6 (29:30):
Well, that was the whirlwind time for you guys.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
It was the wedding.

Speaker 5 (29:35):
Yeah, he just got the tour car. Yeah, everything.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
I have my legacy club member guest next week.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
Do you.

Speaker 8 (29:41):
Yeah, We've got a not a member member. It's the
nineteen twelveth Cup they're calling it, and it's a net tournament,
so I'm in. It's Saturday Sunday. The Eagles don't play Sunday.
They play Monday night, so I can play.

Speaker 6 (29:55):
So I can do it. Yeah, we got that.

Speaker 4 (29:57):
And then you're playing with me on Monday, Monday, right right.
River Winds taking some clients on the day of the Eagles.

Speaker 6 (30:02):
The home opener.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
Looking forward to that for sure.

Speaker 6 (30:07):

weather holds up.

Speaker 3 (30:11):

Speaker 6 (30:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:14):

line with two in Brazil. Who knows what to do
with that? The Giants getting one and a half against
the Vikings, and then back around to the Cowboys getting
two and a half against the Cleveland Browns. So very

bottom line.

Speaker 6 (32:30):
There's a lot of.

Speaker 9 (32:31):
Great I love that both of you. Right, Brandon is
like that all the time. I'm like, type it into
Google doc and then you can share. He goes pen
and paper write it the same way, Like that's how
I do. Everything's on my laptop type written.

Speaker 5 (32:42):
Yeah, but maybe I got it. Maybe you need to
do a pen paper.

Speaker 8 (32:45):
But the bottom line is that they know all these
courses and know like, hey, this.

Speaker 6 (32:49):
One's worth the money.

Speaker 8 (32:51):
Like because they're all expensive, you're not gonna you're not

little bit. But I have to somehow get my hair
and makeup dressed done, I have to interview the children's
Miracle kids, and I got to get over to the
Cultural Center and you know, get it together because the
VIP happy Hour with the PGA Tour players starts at

(33:53):
