is a big day. Comcast Business will keep you ready
for what's next. Comcast Business powering Possibilities. You just got

(00:25):
to get out there and swing and ding it.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Yeah, you know, just guess it's gonna go out there
and try to swing it and ding it. All right,
welcome into swing it and ding it. And you heard
that voice right towards the end of that. We'll get
into that because the Great ESPN caddy Michael Collins turned
into a golf trip for me halfway through the Eagles
pregame party. But welcome into swing it and dig it.

(00:47):
Moose May's and Matthews on this post Eagles Super Bowl victory,
post waste management.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Yeah, but that was interesting.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
I went to the Eagles official pregame party at the
stadium and as I'm walking in, the Great Michael Collins
is walking out and.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
I had my green. He was leaving.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
I guess he was going into the stadium really early,
which I don't blame him, but I had my green.
Philly golf hat on, I said, I said, Mike, it's
it's Moose from swinging and ding it.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Oh my, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
So we had a couple of minutes, took a picture
and then uh, then I walk in and you know,
Stoutland's there, right, and then.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Brownie of course.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
So it's like, man, it's like a golf event, you know. Literally,
there's a lot of a lot of fun seeing those guys.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
And that hat is so good like that Harry has
it on now with the Navy, but Moose has one
with that. That bird's like green. It's it's good, it's.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
A good hot merch shot is coming. It's it's it's
almost finalized.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
So now, did Brownie have his security detail with.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Him, Not at the time I saw him. But they
sometimes they are in the shadows and you cannot see.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Them, but they are there.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Because he played with Brett Quigley yesterday, I believe at
the Chubb Classic Pro am down in Naples.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
That's what he said.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
He was headed.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
He was headed there because he was he was I
believe questionable coming to the super Bowl because of that.
But okay, he decided he had to he had to
be there, So yeah, awesome, awesome seeing those guys.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Great, being able to get a quick.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
One living vicariously through all of your stories. Extreme Fomo.
Moose had texted me like what like the day twenty
four hours before He's like, you sure you can't get
out here? And I was like looking up lights.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
I was like, come on, now, how are the seats, Moose?
Give us the lowdown, like how early? When you say
Collins went in early? How early? And then when did
you go in and where were your seats?

Speaker 2 (02:42):
He had to go he had to go in two
and a half hours before. They do a really good
job of getting people into these things, though, I was nervous.
Even when I went out to the Phoenix, I'm like, oh,
guy's gonna take us hours that they do a really
good job of like making sure you go to your
gate and getting people in the right way.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
I wanted to be in.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
There at least an hour hour and a half before.
I didn't want to take any chances. You want to
soak it in check out the stadium. So but the Eagles.
The Eagles pregame party was was so good. I mean
I was on I was on a straight muffa letta
diet for two days Monday. Monday at brunch was the
first time I realized I held a fork since since

(03:22):
I had been there, which was uh, which was a
lot of fun. Me and my buddy Tony had had
a great time. The Green Legion hooked us up. We
stayed with them on their riverboat down on the river,
which which was awesome, and they had some great events.
But yeah, I mean, and then you know I've been
I'm getting Nancy like we're I'm talking to Dan Smith
from Tito's great sponsor of our of our golf outing

(03:42):
and the Magical Meala Foundation, and uh, but I'm getting Nancy.
I'm like, I need to get in there. Like I'm
not paying attention to these conversations. I'm like, I need
to get in there. And then once we get in,
I'll tell you what. The Superdome, they did an incredible
job at that place. I don't know the renovations or
how long or you know, once they found out they
had the Super Bowl. But so we were on the
suite level, not in a suite. We were in the

(04:03):
corner maybe like the ten yard line, right where right
where Cooper de Jean ran that pick back right right
in our faces.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
It was there. They were perfect. There were some chiefs
fans around us, which very quickly, very quickly, there was
there was not there was.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I said, there was not a second of joy in
that game for them at all.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Couldn't have been.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Yeah, so the bond pick had to be on your
right there and and and the AJ touchdown, like everything
right there.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
It was awesome.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
But it's funny because the guy next to me, big guy,
the Kansas City cheerleaders go out in the field and
the Eagles fans start booing them.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
And he's like, he's like, you're going to boo to cheerleaders?
I said, you don't understand the boo in Philadelphia.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
I'm like, the boo has layers. It's not like a boot.
We hate you, it's just that you're not with us.
The boo is a comedic.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Term for us. I'm you have to truly process the boo.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
He's like, all right, all right, I'm getting I'm still
not the cheerleaders, but I get it suddenly.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
What about the Taylor Swift boo? Let's talk about that.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
That was epic because she was actually she was more
sections over in the sweetid so she was really close.
But I'll tell you what I think the boo that
possibly won the Super Bowl was the aj Brown penalty.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Ferocious.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
But I'll tell you what when that happened, the noise,
the anger of us in that crowd, I think City
team and fans are like, holy, like there this nuts
over that, like we're in trouble. I'm telling you it
sounds so weird and like a simple little thing, but
it just set the tone for the game that like

(05:48):
we're on everything and we're going to be loud and vocal,
and it really set the tone.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Man, it was. It was awesome.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
When you were describing how the boo has layers to
the Kansas City fan, I'm hearing Guard Gano and my
headset like say that that's something he would like sort
of detail.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Yes, it is true.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
It's so philly.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
It's so filly, but I got a comed it's not.
It's not a nasty negative thing. Half the time it's like, boo,
you're not h Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
But no, that tailors. I love that because she like
looks around what's going on, and it's like this isn't
about you, honey, Okay, sit down.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Yeah yeah, but it was. I mean, kudos to the
City of New Orleans.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
How was security there?

Speaker 2 (06:33):
It was military grade, yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
I mean after what they went through.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
And I went and visited the site and honestly got
incredibly emotional. I'm in I'm in the hotel room before
on the boat and Marty Smith does the story about
Tiger Beck. I'm sobbing in the in the hotel room
like by trying to get dressed to go to the game.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
Like it was so emotional.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
And then to see that site where it happened, I mean,
it hit me like a ton of bricks. So so
to see what that city was able to do, what
they were able to pull off in that short of
a turn around time and make everyone feel safe, it
was impressive. So kudos to the city in the mord
of the meanless and they know how to handle large
events between Sugar Bowl and Super Bowls and just for
Mardy Graw which was happening, it was.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
It was tremendous. But we got the full treatment.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
The Green Legion had at a bar, a bar right
on Berber Street rented out, so we got the balcony,
you know, full balcony treatment. Yeah, it was it was
a ten out of ten. Everything about it was just tremendous.
But The weird thing to me was you're walking around
the city and all you see is Eagles fans. I'm
telling you smattering of so I'm like, wow, I said

(07:43):
the last game, it was like definitely sixty forty I
think Chiefs fans. I'm like, this is this is going
to be seventy thirty Eagles fans. But you walk into
the stadium and boom, their whole half of the side
is all I'm like, did they just show up?

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Right?

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Where were they?

Speaker 4 (07:56):
Like again another phillysm, like the pregame, you know, yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Yeah, but then once we started to take over, then
you realized how much more there were really, But they
show up. Listen, you got to give them credit, you know.
But I don't know where they were all week because
they just came to They.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Just trying to stay away from you guys.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
It's like down here, Harry, I've sent you guys photos.
We have an Eagles bar down here, and they had
the Super Bowl already. They had reservations that and the
twenty person waitless I had, like my I had birds
gear on all weekend long. Everywhere you went, go Birds,
Go Birds. I'm like Jupiter Florida and it's like we're everywhere.

(08:35):
It's amazing.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Yeah, did you see any golf? Not a second? Really,
So you guys are going to be carrying the golf
portion of.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Cause I'm kind of with Moose. I saw at the
end because we were actually went to a friend's house
party and we were outside the putting green and chipping
green just messing around, and we like looked down and
we're like, ah, Tom, the state Tree's gonna win. And
I was like, you want to get in?

Speaker 3 (09:00):
And did he ever? The waste management?

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Thomas Dietrie first PGA Tour win in sixty eight, starts
the first Belgian with a win, and he gets it
in a seven shot win after a six under sixty
five on Sunday. I mean, Harry, you were watching and
I'm sure what was going on with t tri he was?

Speaker 3 (09:17):
He just firing?

Speaker 4 (09:18):
Yeah, he turned the l four holes.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
He just put the pedal down. Man, Like you know
we were talking about last week that that back nine,
you know, those closing holes are drama incorporated. And he
was just like, I'm having none of this, man, because
I'm gonna make Birdie after Birdie after Birdie. And it
was impressive, you know, burning fifteen is not a big
deal for those guys. But on sixteen he walks into
the cauldron, you know, with three holes to go, and

(09:43):
he hits it to sixteen inches. Yeah, okay in that
environment with all that stuffed on, he just exactly stuffed
it and then makes the birdie. You know, the place
is going nuts, and he walks over to seventeenth tee
where things can come unraveled really quickly. They did from
my and our man Billy Horssechell. He put it in
the water twice on Thursday and Friday like a dope.

(10:05):
But he goes to seventeen and you know, hits it
short of the green and then makes a twenty one
foot pot for birdie, just rolls it right in with authority.
Then he goes to eighteen, hits it to ten feet,
rolls in the pot for a birdie. I mean it
was just like, holy crap, who is this guy? Wins
by seven? Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
Other top finishers Kim and Berger type for second at
seventeen nine.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
Jordan Speaker, of course, I took him at the Sony. Yeah,
four weeks early.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Harra shout out to harr things for the reminder. He's like,
get your.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
Right pick in j.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Six. Yeah, I had him last week, so it was
a decent pick.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Yeah, it's good to see Michael Kim get in there. Man.
That guy's been nowhere for a while and he played great.
He got a chipping lesson from Joe Mayo the day before,
I believe on Wednesday. He put it up on his Instagram.
I watched it that morning and apparently it just the
lights went on and he started. They showed him shipping
on Saturday and Sunday's getting it too, like two feet you.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Know, I'll do it. Yeah, emergency emergency lessons. We've all
been there right on and Danielle.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
It seemed like the fans behave for the most part, right,
no major stories, no shutdowns, right, they had it figured
out this year. Yeah, we weren't dealing with weather and
all that other stuff.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
But yeah, I mean there was some excitement. I think
Grillo's a hole in wand you know, he kind of
just jarred it right in there.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
About that was dunk the slow fall.

Speaker 4 (11:40):
Swirling in the cup, like, yeah, that was cool.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
That was awesome.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
And then of course, like you can look at any
of the social and just see drunken idiots. But I'm
sure Moosey saw enough of that this week. You could
pretend that you were there anyway, you know, yeah, exactly, exactly.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Oh man, but that's it. You know, you think about
all these guys that have won in these early weeks.
This European Ryder Cup team just keeps building and building.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
Man, I need some drama.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
The boys got to get it together. Watch boys. The
boys got to get it together.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
But yeah, overall, pretty good fan behavior in New Orleans,
in Philadelphia and in Phoenix. So great job everybody to
keep to keep your crap together. We're proud of You're
really really proud to give yourself.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
I don't know why.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
In my mind, I guess it was because they did
it when the Super Bowl was there. I thought I
thought the tournament was going to end Saturday. I don't know,
I don't I thought that they were changing it. I
was all messed up.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
I was, yeah, well no, because even last year when
I was in Phoenix, they were like, nah, like you
know it's.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Or was that last year of anyone they changed the.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Yeah, not change super Bowl weekend.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
But well, I guess because there's two games on Championships
Sunday start three.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
And this to start at six, so they figure, yeah,
I get it done.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
If you know, a lot of times it's going to
a playoff where it has a right to the start
of the Super Bowl, not this year. Yeah, but t
Tree was like, I'm gonna I want to get home
and watch this stupid Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
Yeah, and Scotty.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
Scotty shoots thirty one front, forty one back for a
seventy two to finish twenty fifth place. You know, you're
worried with an injury like that, that's probably the the
most important spot for a golfer is in your hands,
you know, Is it.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Going to take him a little bit longer to get
back to his form?

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Were just talking about Burger. It took him wrist injury.
He was out what three four years something like that.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
Well, yeah, track too, he had a back issue too.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
Yeah. And then Jordan Speed continually risked.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Yeah he played great. He looks like he might be back.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
Yeah, he was T two I believe.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Or T yeah, No, T four four Yeah, T four
with Bizade.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
Now, I'll tell you what. That gives me a little
bit of hope on the rider.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
If the Speed's in Ja can get back to form,
that's a big help for.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Right because of the experience, right, and Burger too.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
He's played in one and one, so that is something
to keep an eye on all year long.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
But yeah, great stuff out in Phoenix. And Danielle, you
want to spill some tea?

Speaker 4 (14:17):
Why not? All right? Rory says, Trump is quote not
a fan of the live format or process. Get over
hard feelings to reunify the game. So Rory was quoted
saying Trump has direct access to piff governor yes here,
and he said, not many people have that, and his boss,

(14:39):
yeah right, and his boss. So he said, not many
people can say I want you to get this deal done.
I'm not going to do my Trump voice. And by
the way, I'm speaking to your boss. So we should see,
you know, Rory says, And we all know he can
be influential. He loves the game of golf. And Rory
actually I think played with him his daughter and then

(15:00):
his granddaughter Kai a little bit ago, so he had
access to him. And he said, I think whenever Trump
says something, they listen, and I think that's a big thing.
So we'll see the new live CEO City is quote
excited for possible PGA tour deal and Greg Norman is
still involved, they said, But I mean we've talked about

(15:21):
this how many times, like until until we have some
breaking I just don't want to hear it until there's news,
Like it might be fun listening to the negotiations that
Trump can present, but honestly, like I'm tired, there's no
update until something's like signed, sealed, delivered, don't bother.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Well, here's the thing. I think it's going to happen.
And it's not because it's necessarily because of Trump's involvement,
but because there's a couple of these guys contracts are
coming up with Live the Shambo and Kopka are two
of them. And there's talk that they want back in
on the PGA tour, so that if they left Live

(16:00):
back for the PGA tour see you later Live.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
But what is the now yeah deal?

Speaker 4 (16:07):
Are there still you know, ramifications from their decision to
leave the tour? I feel like maybe they might be Yeah,
remember in the beginning, it was like no, you have
to you know, is it is it a ruler to
the rest or. Is it like, no, you have to
sit out for a year, or.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
There's no way they'll make them sit out for a year.
There's no way, this isn't radio.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
Yeah, but how would how how would those exemptions be
and how would it be like getting into those fields
like what you just automatically can come back and knock
out everybody else with a status Because there's numbers, there's
guys that are waiting to get into tournaments. So there
has to be some type of organized fashion. You can't
just be like hey Brooks, you know, Bryson, come back

(16:46):
in and then like.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
I'm letting them in right well, open the velvet rope
and they're coming right in the in the club.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
Yeah, except Pulter. He could wait a little bit.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Yeah, Poulter stinks anyway.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
Now, so uh put them in a yeah, yeah, we'll
see Max go ahead.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
Sorry, No, I was wondering if you had any eyes
on Live last weekend. I actually watched a few, like
twenty minutes of it each day, and apparently the ratings
were abysmal. I don't think twelve thousand people I.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
Saw something like that. You see that, I.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
Mean, think about that moose. There's more people at the
sixteenth hole on a Thursday.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
Oh yeah, I have a no year, like nearly a
month into the new CEO's like tenures Live Golf CEO.
The league's trajectory. Opening week ratings were at an all
time low.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Yeah, and that was with Fox I don't know, the
two and Fox Sports won. Yeah, it wasn't even the
CW No.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
Yeah, weird times but still.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
Really yeah, yeah, the time difference was different.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
Yeah, but if the products diluted and it's just you
know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
Like they were playing under the lights. Did you like that?
Did you see any of it? Because I saw kind
of weird.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
Also clips, but that was about it.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Yeah, It's like that event they played in Florida with
the mixed event the right near you Danielle when ye
Alexi and all.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
The oh yeah, the match, the match at the park.
Yeah yeah, yeah, that was cool. Well the staying on
the topic or not staying on the topic. But the
Clicks unveil a four weekend bag. They partnered with Martin Key,
which I guess is a high end brand to create
a I bet you a. I wrote this meticulously crafted

(18:29):
weekend bag that embodies the spirit of both brands. Harr
are you buying a bag?

Speaker 1 (18:34):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (18:34):
No?

Speaker 1 (18:35):
I got plenty of bigs.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
I got the Click's hat at Home.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
And most of the moves I could see you buying
one of these, but yeah, you know it's not cool
enough for you. If it was cool, you would buy it.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
I mean four aces, you know, maybe i'd go. But
I'm now.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
The range goat, I think is the coolest.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
They just they just go duffle the range goats.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
They're not Yeah, they were like Harro was saying he
thinks that they may have implemented a pants only rule.
We're not. We're not sure one hundred percent on it.
But he said everyone's wearing bands except the rain rolled up,
just rocking shorts.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
You have mosquitos where they were or something.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
I don't know. It's Saudi Arabia.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
They're playing down Atlantic City in July. What the hell's
going on?

Speaker 1 (19:13):
You're not allowed to show leg it's possible February.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
And you saying that, I'm like getting PTSD from a
event that was in Mexico to Loom, Oh my god.
And because you're like walking in the jungle along the
car path. At one point I was like, I'm just
going middle of the fairway, like I could not keep
the mosquitoes off of me. It was for another returned
to Loom. Ever again in my life, all right, MORTI,

(19:41):
let's go Maxhoma on his struggles quote, it's not the clubs.
Maxhoma shut down the idea that has switched from titleist
to Cobra is not to blame for his slow start,
calling it reductive to pin his struggles on equipment. Despite
finishing T three at last year's Masters, he admits he
hasn't played well since, but insists that it's all on him.
Golf does not like me at the moment, so Home

(20:03):
is brutally on his take. He's blaming himself, not the
equipment switch. What do you guys think? Is it a
real challenge or is this like an easy excuse for him?
What do you think?

Speaker 2 (20:13):
I mean, I'm glad he didn't take debate. Yeah, you
know you can't. You can't say that, right.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
Those guys, not at all. I mean that's true with everything.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
But guess what, he's been somewhat streaky in his early career, right,
he has his ups and downs, and then he gets
hot and he goes on a run.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
And they don't think to him.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
But yeah, exactly, I don't think people understand golf like
when you're you're hot, you're hot. When you're trending, you're trending,
you deal with injuries, you deal with mental things, family life,
everything like.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
They often do.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
We see these guys change putters, change grips, change It's insane.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
One little thing can throw you off for a couple
of months.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
And he's a guy that has kind of like struggled
with his own inner confidence. That was actually the thing,
you know, when you finally broke through, it was like,
oh wow, I'm good enough to be here, like.

Speaker 4 (20:59):
Welcome, excell Yeah, he might have a little.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
Copy of in our excellence, like a yeah right, what
I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (21:04):
Yeah, Well, maximum of results for twenty twenty five, this
entry T twenty six Farmers Insurance withdraw at and T
Pebble Beach probably MT fifty three and then miss cut
this past week. So we'll see Lucas Glover versus Colin
more Kaala.

Speaker 5 (21:21):
Real quick speaking of equipment, because I was going to
talk about it after this, but I'm excited to talk
to our guest next week, the great Johnny Wonder, one
of the best names in golf who they love talking
to a lot of times before events, longtime callaway guy
who is now at Director of Equipment for golf dot
Com and is kind of getting to explore a lot
of different equipments.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
So excited to talk to Johnny next week and just
talk about his history with that brand, some of the
big players he's worked with, and where he's going now
to make sure you tune in next week.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
That should be a great episode.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Yeah, great name. I think that's his real name too.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Yeah, Wu and you and.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
Yeah, all right, a little bit more of the Ta
Lucas Glover Colin Marikawa and the aim point debate. So
Lucas Glover wants the BJA tour to band am point,
as we talked about last week, calling it slow and ineffective.
Colin Marikawa clap back. Obviously we all know he's a
big ame point user, and he joked around saying if
ame point goes social long putters like the Lover's broomstick.

(22:17):
So marcaw is insisting that ame point helps him, and
he was arguing that slow play penalties, not green reading methods,
are the real issue. And he suggests, like again I
highlighted last week publicly calling out slow players just like
the NBA does with technical fouls. So INDI end it
was kind of just a little banter back and forth,
fun I'm throwing sheet at each other. But it's like,
I don't know, I like a little job. I think

(22:39):
it's fun.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
It was funny though, har because something he said made
me think of you, because I don't think they realize
they do it.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
JT drives me nuts with this too.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
How they start leaning in before the before the guy's done,
and he said he's like, sometimes I can't. I can't
get in there fast enough to get to my read.
It's like, yeah, because it's not your turn, right yeah right,
like yeah, if you're that whereorried about it's going to
take you too long, that it's taking you too.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
Long, and it's ineffrective.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
Yeah, and more cow. It does it differently than anybody
else I've ever seen, with the way he uses his
hand in front of his face.

Speaker 4 (23:10):
Yeah, like he does it kind of like this like
each phone home.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
Yeah, it's weird. It's weird.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Yeah, yeah, that is if you have like big sausage
link fingers, I don't use between the lines measure your finger.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
Well that's what he said. He's like, maybe people are
just using it incorrectly and don't know how to use
anim one properly.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
Who knows, but you know, we have to mention it
several times. We started the show with saying, super Bowl champions,
so let's talk about some football in the off season.
Sequon says, if I don't break eighty this off season,
I got to give up the game. So we'll see maybe.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Because remember when we had Britain Covey on the show. Yeah, yeah,
we're talking about golf. And afterwards I texted him it's
a shame because he got hurt, like not too far
after that, and I said, hey, let me know what
we can get out, you know, come over to my club,
and he responded, cool, you mind if I bring Saquon.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
With me, And I was like, yeah, I mind, that's cool. Yeah,
I mean, if you want wend so.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
But I didn't get a chance to play with him
because you know, Britain stopped playing. But I'm hoping, I'm
hoping maybe I'll be there, maybe one of us will
be there with Sakwa when he breaks eight.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
And that's what I'm saying. Hopefully he's you know, infiltrating
the Philly courses and you guys just happened to see him.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
They said that there were there were some people in
the in the gap area. I think Missonelli was talking
about it and Charles Barkley said he played like fifty
courses last year and he said every course he went to,
they were like, oh, Sakum was here last.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
Week, right, So he he.

Speaker 4 (24:36):
Like, hey, can I get the yes sir? You know what,
whatever do you do?

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Imagine now, imagine now he could do whatever he wants here.

Speaker 4 (24:43):
You go whatever you want and maybe a guy who got,
you know, an early start by a couple of weeks.
Josh Allen says he's addicted to golf. I found this
love story. It's incredible. Katie F. Bannon on x Share.
That's a quick story about this guy being Josh Allen.
I played Sea Island with him last offseason and witnessed

(25:06):
a sickness like I've never seen before. Played eighteen in
the morning, raced to Ups to sign a reconstructed, restructured contract,
another eighteen in the afternoon, hits balls until one am
on the king Cottage. They have a private range. He
was back yep, was back on the range the next
day at seven am. Said his driver was quote too spinny,

(25:29):
walked over to the performance center and did a driver fitting.
At eight am drove straight to a whoopie for thirty
six more. This guy has got the sickness. He's obsessed love,
He's obsessed.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
I love to see it.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Yeah, and then to say that he tipped all the staff,
took really good care of everybody, and never once talked
about football or himself.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
What a good guy.

Speaker 4 (25:51):
What a guy. And then the last piece of tea
that we have will just roll us right into the Genesis.
There is a stacked field, but no time.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
No.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
Yeah, she was supposed to make his two thousand U
or he's supposed to make his you know, debut, but
Withdrew and uh, we'll see.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
I'm getting a little tired of this, to be honest
with you. His agency just puts out, you know, blurbs
the golf channel and gets you know, rich Lerner and
everybody all excited that they come out with a new
Tiger is going to tear it up at the Genesis.
Only two days later he puts out his I'm just
not ready. You weren't ready two days.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
Ago, Harry. I'm in the same boat because I was
sitting here like working and be had on like golf
channel and they were saying, like, oh, Tiger's looking goodness
or that, and literally fifteen minutes later, it's like Tiger Withdrew,
I go, wait, time out, weren't did you saying that?

Speaker 3 (26:39):
Yeah, but I don't. He did say that.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
He's he's still not done processing the loss of his mouth,
like it wasn't a performance thing like that.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
You gotta give him a little bit.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Of a past there, you know what, that's complete? Okay, yes, yeah,
I miss that and hot, Yeah wasn't.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
I'm glad your point, like, don't put it out right right,
you know, the ups and downs are tough, but yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:59):
Yeah, that's because we just shared last week that that
happened and very unexpected. So yeah, you know, there we go.
We forget that these guys are humans and have some
feelings and emotions too, right, they.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
Can't human.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
Tiger Woods.

Speaker 4 (27:13):
Tiger Tiger Woods, y'all.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
Well, he may he may have was been Tiger Woods,
we don't know. But yeah, the genesis we returned to
this end of the crime.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
This is strange.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
Yeah, it sucks not getting another getting a look at Riviera.
Let's face it, right, and it's uh, sixteen days ago
they were they were at Tory Pines and they're right
back Harry, So the course of course, I mean, you
know you did you'd done, did the course of course?

Speaker 1 (27:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
I wanted to hear about Riviera. I love the way
you explained it. But you know we are where we are.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Yeah. And this one though, they're only playing the South
course like all weeks, and it's it's a very limited cut.
It's like tops, top sixty five and ties and anybody
within ten shots, so basically practically everybody, if not everybody's
going to make the cut. But La Joya, California par
seventy two seventy seven hundred and sixty five yards. It's
a super long one, one of the longest ones they

(28:05):
play all year long on the PGA Tour. William P.
And William F. Bell designed this back in nineteen fifty
seven and Rhys Jones came in and renovated it in
twenty nineteen. The average green size five thousand square feet,
eighty two sand bunkers. One water hazard and that's Devlin's billibong,
that little pond that sits just before the eighteenth green

(28:27):
that can wreak havoc with guys trying to go forward
in two when they need to make a birdie or
an eagle Poana greens. It seems like they've been playing
Poeanna now for over a month. The fairways and rough
are rye grass overseed, and I've been told that the
rough since they's been raining all week out there, it's
soaked and they didn't get to cut the grass or

(28:50):
the rough Tuesday or Wednesday. It's soaking wet, and they're
not gonna cut it the whole rest of the week.
So you better find the fairways if you're gonna have
any hope of making a lot of birdies here. I
don't know that the scores are going to be all
that high. Fairways twenty four to forty seven yards wide.
Tory Pine'es and Mierfield Village Jack's Place in Ohio are
the only two courses that they play that are seventy

(29:12):
five hundred plus yards and five thousand square foot greens,
So this is tough. A lot of the architect buffs
don't like this golf course because they say that if
it wasn't on the coast of California, if you plopped
it thirty miles inland, nobody'd even know about it, And
they might be right, but the fact is it is
on the coast and it's really super to watch a

(29:34):
tournament here, so I'm looking forward to it.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
It sure is.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
And that was the course of course brought to you
by the Penn Club on second in Contra Hocken.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
Make sure you check them out.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
Still some February and March left to get in there
and work on your game and then you know, during
the season, it's great to have a spot at night time.
You know, if you got the Josh Allen bug, you
need to go hit balls at night or if.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Again super hot, you know, during the day you know
it's super hot, you can you know, hit balls and
air conditioning. And they've got four months membership's going right now,
so then you know that you get four months that
gets you right into the prime playing season around here.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
So yeah, yeah, checking doubt. So let's let's see the
line for this one.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
It's interesting Harris English who won yeah, you know sixteen
days ago.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
He's got a big number.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
So even even a top five at eleven hundred, I'm
gonna go that way. I could see Oberg winning this
tournament at twenty two hundred. I have a weird feeling
feeling about female and I like that four thousand number.
And then I'm looking at Spieth in a top five
at six fifty, Wyndham Clark in a top ten at
four hundred, and Berger in a top ten at four fifty.
You know some guys that could hit the ball long,

(30:37):
which helps, that could do well here.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
Yeah, and you talked about Harris English, I mean not
just the win a couple of weeks ago. He's had
tremendous success every time it. Basically he's played here in
recent memory, including the latest US Open a few years
ago when rom won. Uh yeah, I'm gonna go Sung
j M at plus two forty and at top ten Morikawa,
who's the number one choice among one and dunepools apparently,

(31:03):
I'm gonna go top five plus two sixty for Colin.
Hits it straight. Now you're gonna have to get it
out there too, because it's so wet, they're not going
to get a lot of run. But he just finds
so many fairways. That's gonna set him up for a
good week in my view. And take two matchups Matt McNeely,
who's playing really well minus one fifteen over d Tree.
I think the bounce back for Dtree's gonna be mav

(31:26):
he did, Yeah, he did. He's trending, you know, after
that win he had at the RSM back in the fall,
sung j I'll take him over Fleetwood at minus one
ten in a matchup and the one and done's I'm
taking Taylor Pendrith from Canada. This guy pokes it out there.
He plays really well. Here's good history at this golf course,
a couple of top tens in recent time, and he's

(31:48):
plus four thousand to win. I'm gonna put him in
at my one and done.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
I actually went McCollum, I did you I took more
kwa Yeah, yep.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
All right, good stuff.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
Daniel had to hop back next week with Johnny Wonder,
looking forward to that episode and seeing how things go
back at Tory Pines with some of these guys. It's
gonna be a strange weekend in in golf. But excited
to uh next year, hopefully to get back to Riviera
because that's that's a.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
Tough one to miss. It's kind of like not this.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
There's a lot of points where it feels like the
season is really kicking in, and this is always one
of them.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
So that's one of my favorite venues. That they go
to each and every year.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
It's no doubt it's a great golf course.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
Yep, no doubt. All right, Harry, good stuff. We'll be
back next week.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
Thanks for listening to

Speaker 1 (32:32):
Listen, swing it and dang it.
