(00:00):
You're waking up with fifth in themorning. Huh kiss one O seven one,
good morning. If you are graduatingand you don't have a job,
give me three minutes. I'm hopingthis one tip will help you. All
Right, at eight thirty, you'regonna need the key phrase career happiness to
win the pitbull tickets, because everyThursday at eight twenty, Julie on the

(00:21):
Job joins us. She's our careermens where with graduation here or maybe just
those that are in need of ajob, regardless of their life standpoint,
there's always this how do I findit? What do I do? Good
morning girl? It's that no oneever taught us actually how to find a
job, and technology would tell usthat, oh, you just go online
and apply. Well, that isactually not the best way to get a

(00:45):
job. It's the easiest way tofeel like you're actually looking for a job.
Do tell more. When you areapplying online, it's you and a
bazillion other people, and so thechances that you'll or your info actually get
seen by a decision making humans veryvery very small. And I hate to

(01:08):
tell you for those of you whosay I don't like to meet with people,
people hiring is a person to personactivity. People hire people that they
know, like and trust, orbeen recommended to them by someone they know

(01:30):
like and trust. So, ifyou had a small company or a company
of any size, and you werelooking to add a person or two to
your team, would you rather adig through a huge file of online applications
that all seem to say the samething, or would you rather activate the
people you know, tell them whatkind of person you're looking for, and

(01:53):
take their recommendation and talk to thosepeople. I hope you're saying option so
that you're going to start hitting peopleup, Like, would you go to
the website and start talking to hiringmanagers? Yeah? I mean I would
say, Okay, let's say yousee Let's say you see a job that
you like online and the first thingyou should do is searts. You have

(02:16):
to be on LinkedIn, and thenyou find people on LinkedIn who might work
for that company to try to havea conversation with them to get yourself to
the top of the piles. Butlet's say that you're truly lost. You've
graduated, you have no idea whatyou want to do next, and you
have to start somewhere, and Iknow you're going to cringe. But sometimes

(02:38):
our friends, parents and our parents'friends, our professors, teachers, people
who hired us for the summer, neighbors. Those people are connected to opportunities
and they have solid information to helpyou get started. And hopefully you're not
somebody who you know, eggs people'scars in your neighborhood. People want to

(03:00):
help you. And so right,I mean, if a young person came
to me and it was someone Iknew that I really felt the you know,
felt highly, thought highly, I'dbe activating my network all over the
place and introduced opening the doors forpeople. And so that is how we
get our first job. That is, frankly how we get our tenth job.

(03:20):
And I know it's harder because youfeel like, you know, I
just want to apply for things onlineand I'm telling you that you are.
You got your fish and call inthe wrong pond. If that's what you're
going to do, So use yourparents' connections, use other connections, and
start activating the network is what youhad called it. And then second,

(03:42):
spend less time on tender and moretime on LinkedIn. Julie on the job
must be on LinkedIn. Go GoGo, Thanks girl. If you've got
a question a hit her up onsocial, hit me up on social,
answer them. Every Thursday at eighttwenty Julie on the job on TikTok and
Instagram. Commercial free pull me upon your phone if you'd like to party
because at eight thirty have your chanceto win Pitbull tickets
