Speaker 1 (00:00):
Because you're waking up with kiss.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Parents is the keyword. Parents is the keyword. You're gonna
need that to come to the movies with me Tomorrow night,
seven o'clock. Showcase Cinema Springdale is doing a wicked advanced
screening before it comes out on Friday. And if you
follow me on Instagram, you know I love going to
Showcase Cinema Movie Sunday Babe started two years ago. Stay
(00:26):
strong with him. The reason why the keyword is parents.
Imagine asking your parent to do this one job for
you and them saying the only way I'm gonna do
that job for you is if you pay me. Now,
I want all angles on this, you know me. If
we're diving in, we're going hard, I want to hear
from parents because I bet there's gonna be someone on
(00:48):
her side. There's gonna be someone on his side as well.
So I'm gonna float the scenario and then let's go
through the angles together and maybe you are in a
similar position.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
That's the only reason why I do this type of show.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
As we take stuff that's happening in the celebrity world
or in our own group DMS, and we bring it
to our radio kitchen table every morning and we talk
about it. So my best friend Ashley is renovating her
New Hampshire home for Airbnb purposes.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
And there's a section of the roof.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
I'm not a roof expert, but let's just say there's
a section of the roof that needs to be fixed.
And her dad is kind of one of those jack
of all trade dads.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
I don't think he's a roofer.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Maybe he is by profession, but he knows how to
do roofing things. And she said to him, Hey, is
there a chance that you could come up to New
Hampshire and help me with this project? And he got
real defensive about it. And this is her telling me
the story through secondhand. I don't have any audio for you,
but essentially, he said, if you want me to come
up to New Hampshire from Connecticut where he lives, solid
(01:54):
two and a half hours away at least and fix
your roof, you're gonna need to pay me for it.
And Ashley said, oh, like okay, but he got real
like annoyed and angry with her on the fact that
she had asked him to do this project. Now, this
(02:15):
is where the angles come in. What side are you on.
Are you thinking, hey, we're all in this together. We're family.
You know, family is family. We help where we can.
Or are you saying if this person is a profession
in this trade, doesn't matter who you are, they deserve
(02:36):
some sort of money.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
How would you handle this?
Speaker 2 (02:39):
I almost didn't know what to tell her for advice,
so I want to work shop it with you. Five
one three seven four nine one seven one. Should she
pay her dad for this job or should the dad
just do it in good faith because they're family.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
I was even just found before I met you would
drink too much. That's in this shoe. Okay, good morning.
You're waking up with Tim in the morning.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
On Kissuano said, but when we're a few minutes out
from your chance to win my final pair of passes
to come see Wicked with me at Showcase Cinema for
the advanced screening in Springdale tomorrow night. If you have
the keyword that I mentioned earlier in the show, we're
in the midst of talking about parents, wink, wink, as
far as keywords go. Actually, this is a second day
in a row. We've had conversations about this. But my
(03:28):
friend Ashley from Boston asked her dad to help her
with a project around the house, and he said, if
you want me to fix your roof, you're going to
have to pay me for it. And she was kind
of taken aback. So we're in the midst of, you know,
getting all the angles this morning.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
We'll start with you. Good morning. Ashe lay from Mason.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
I think that he should be paid something. Now, maybe
not what he would charge anyone else, but I mean
I think he should be paid something, whether or not
family or not. We love to say that we're family
and give each other discount that they like that. That's great,
But I mean that's his trade, like he you know,
he works for that, right.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
And then it's time and energy.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
I mean that's a lot.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Well, time, money, and energy are the most valuable things
I think for human life.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Everything's based around that.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
And so but when your family, what's the line of
how much money you pay them, if you pay them anything,
versus what their time, money and energy is worth.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
And I see you on it too. I didn't really
know how to.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Have that conversation with my friend because she was seeking advice.
So that's a good point. That is a good point.
Maybe it's not the full sum. But if you are
in your thirties and you have a salary job and
you're not struggling, like if you're struggling, okay, maybe it's
a different story. But if you have the money, then
do you pay it?
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Why not? I mean, and then it's a sense of
like entitlement, like.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Well, Ashley, sorry to cut you short on that. Thank you.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
You have to get to these tickets right now, but
I appreciate your input. Five one three, seven, four nine
one oh seven one. If you want to go see
Wicked with me tomorrow, go ahead.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
And call because you're waking up with Tiff in the
morning on kiss.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
One O seven one, Hi, good morning. I'm hoping that
you have a keyword for.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Me, please, that's all I got. Okay, what is it?
Speaker 2 (05:20):

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Ten awesome? Yay, thank you. You're welcome.
Speaker 2 (05:28):

Speaker 1 (05:32):

my favorite.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
It's my favorite theater on the planet, and I just
I love the fact that we're gonna be able to
see Wicked in Imax before everyone else.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
I'm so excited. It's going to be so fun.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Yeay, are you gonna if you were to dress up,
not that you're required to do that, would you be
Glinda or Alpa Ba.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
I'd probably relate more to Alpha BA, but I got
more Glinda dresses.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Well maybe you do a little bit of both. I'm
sure they'd appreciate that. Yeah, we'll mash. Well.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Thank you for the call, and thank you for listening
to Tiff in the morning every day.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
