Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're waking up with six in the morning, Hey, what
is the weirdest thing you can do in Cincinnati? You
might have in the tri set, I should say you
might have your own that you want to share, and
that is totally fine if you haven't picked this up yet.
I'm a real big weirdo. Sometimes I call it silly,
(00:20):
sometimes I call it weird. But I think we all
have this weirdness about us. And that's why a big
theme of TIF in the Morning is unlock your weird right,
But that's a lot of our conversation kind of goes
in that direction. The plan too, but it does so
if you're a visual person at the TIFF two f's
(00:41):
potter like the Wizard. If you want to take a
look at what happened this weekend. It's the second thing
in my stories right now. It was Bockfest. And Bockfest
is the weirdest, best holiday that Cincinnati has. And you
might have been a part of it, and you know
exactly what I'm talking about. You might have missed it
(01:02):
this year, or just in case I'm catching you and
you've never experienced Bockfest. This is a really good reminder
to set a reminder on your calendar for one year
from now to make sure that you're there, because it's
this special weird thing that we do now, Bockfest. I
learned about it through my buzzed state this weekend that
(01:25):
it's a beer, a German beer holiday, right, and bock
beer is wicked strong, and I think the monks used
to drink it during Lent when they were fasting. Okay,
then you get a bunch of regular Cincinnatians out here
drink it in and we're like whoo, and it's just
this special weekend in March. I feel like everyone at
this point is ready to be outside, is ready to
take a little break from their house. We don't have
football anymore, but we're not quite at spring and you
(01:48):
just get the most eclectic, weird thing. We're in the
hunt for the sausage Queen. I judged a baby goat
yelling competition on Friday night at more Line Longer House,
and I had a few of those beverages and an
adult candy if you're picking up what I'm putting down,
And I was all over the news shout out to WLWT,
(02:10):
like I would die to see the raw footage of
me just staring blankly at probably thirty five or forty
people yelling into a microphone their best impersonation of a
baby goat. Again, if you're a visual person at the
tiff to F's Potter, like the Wizard, it was unhinged.
(02:31):
And that's what I love about this holiday is that
it's just such a uniquely weird thing that Cincinnatians do.
And shout out to my friend Pam Kravitz. If you're
on social media or in the art scene or community scene,
you'll know who she is. I said, girl, can you
explain to me what Bockfest really is.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
What I Boxfest mean to me? It is joy, it
is ridiculous, it is playfulness. It's community, it's goats, it's fears,
it's sausage queens. It's just bringing everyone together such an
ear reverend, a joyful, playful way, and it's just speaks
volumes to the heart and full of Cincinnati.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Agreed. I get you have to experience this, and I
hope you feel comfortable being your weirdo self here on
this show, because if you can't let it out here,
where the hell are you gonna let it out again?
At the tif too F's Potter, Like the wizard. I
hope I did a good job explaining the sausage queen,
the goat, the beer, and all of the above on
(03:28):
my stories. But again, TIFF's community Corner. I just try
to introduce you to the weirdness of Cincinnati, the people
that make up sincey. The place is the things, and
if you have anything that you recommend, you've gone to
something and you're like, oh my god, Tiff would love this.
Shoot me a message all right. In the meantime, still
commercial free for a much longer a scoch because we
got to dive into the three things you need to
(03:48):
know to get your day started in Sincy. No one
is messier on the Internet than Jamar Chase right now.
I'll have that next
