Speaker 1 (00:02):
This is the Ta Mahoney Company Real Animals Radio Show
presented by Contender Boats.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
And Pro Marine.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Now Here to chart today's course.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
Your hosts, Captain's Mike Anderson, Ben Marshall, and the Legend
Mike Mahoney.
Speaker 4 (00:21):
Good morning, Tampa Bay ninety five three WDAE and AM
six twenty the Great Jason Bearinger. On the other side,
Captain Mike Anderson, Captain Big Ben Marshall and then Captain
Mike Rogal. The Legend Mike Mahoney is in the Great
State of Georgia doing a little deer hunting, as the
(00:42):
three of us are known to do this time of year.
Good to see you, Michael. Has he got you turned
on here? Yeah, you're on here, Teck one, You're good, buddy.
Good to see you, man. Yeah, it's uh, it's uh,
it's that time of year. Although it's getting a little cold.
We got some we have a cold front coming. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
I thought about you this morning. I was glad you
put a little Annie freeze in my trains cause it's
gonna freeze there, I know, yeah for sure. And then
I'm headed to Missouri. It's gonna be nineteen Well, it
was nineteen there this morning. But it'll warm up next week.
So up there it's wind I mean, you know, forty
degrees but win thirty mile hour winds and it just
(01:24):
cuts right through you.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
Well, that's what we're gonna have here. And I think
that's yet tomorrow, tomorrow, tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Yeah, I mean right now, you're talking about six miles
an hour out of the south. It's out of kind
of drawing out of the south. It's rainy, icky spotted.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
I was gonna say, I ran through a little rain
on my way in.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
But it's going to switch to the north northwest and
it'll howl and it's gonna be cold.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
I mean, whenever you see I always think whenever there's
a ten mile an hour difference or a ten not difference,
like if they say ten to twenty, that usually tells
me they don't really have a clue. They don't really.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
It's usually more windy, right, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
It's a little clue. On the little diagrams, just look
how long the arrows are. And I mean this morning
I went, oh yeah, I mean like one of the
arrows was from apple Atchicola to the center of the gulf.
Look yeah, like ooh, she's gonna.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
Blow yeah, And I was talking with Jamie Goodwin, you
know about we have a big trip schedule for tomorrow,
and I was talking to Jamie about it. He's like,
bro north northwest. I mean, even if you put in
at the Gandy and came around McDill to get to downtown,
that run from the Gandy around McDill on a northwest
(02:39):
windo bridal.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
It depends a lot of asth Mahoney talked about it
all the time with even with his big contender. When
you round that corner coming into downtown off of McDill
with beer Can way off to the right, depending on
the tide right there, it'll swell on you.
Speaker 5 (02:57):
Yeah, it's real deep. Yeah, those waves roll and they
build and no hiding from it.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
It's ornery, there's no doubt about it. So if you know,
if you got good rain gear, maybe this morning early
today wouldn't be too bad. And after that you're gonna
be a little bit of a shutdown. Supposed to start
to get better by Wednesday. So got the first really
big cold front of the year coming in, gonna make
it really really cold, really tough on the water. Even tomorrow.
(03:25):
That wind's gonna blow and temperatures are going to be sixty,
still sixty on the water when it's blowing, it's still
cold for us.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
Saw some saw some ducks moving in with this last
little cold front, and there's probably gonna be a couple
of thousand.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
Oh, i'll bet you tomorrow. Yeah, I'll bet you they
dump in here. There's no doubt whether. Update brought to
you by our good friends at Reese Windows and Doors.

We got Veterans Day coming up on Tuesday, so I
want to make sure we put a big shout out
to our veterans and let them know how much we
appreciate them. My men and women's service members both here
(04:22):
and abroad, that make it possible for us to do
what we do. Make it possible for us to be
dumb enough to try to run a charter tomorrow and
thirty five miles with pro athletes. Yeah, well yeah, no,
no big deal, no big deal. There's that win. Gretzky
will be in town. Yeah big yeah, no big deal.
(04:42):
Jamie can handle it. Well, we'll put Gretzky on Jamie's
boat again. Actually, if I was a betting man, because
mister Gretzky is not a huge fan of boats period,
not a fan. No, when he steps outside and sees
that win, there's about zero chance. If I was a
betting man, I would bet that Gretzky does not get
on a boat tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
That would be my He'll take a couple of pictures
at the dock.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
Yeah, maybe, Yeah, you'll come by, shake some hands, Hey,
happy to be.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Here, and then out, probably tell a story or two.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
You might show up at Hat Tricks afterwards for the
for the party. But yeah, they won last night. Got
a couple of days off, that's good. Yeah, three two,
I think Yeah, Coop's catches tomorrow supposed to be tomorrow
is going to be tomorrow? Maybe? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Are you going to still work on her a little better?
Speaker 4 (05:26):
I'm gonna I don't think it's not talking to her.
That's the problem. Okay, it's talking the man. It's the man,
it's Coop. We have to we have to talk to Coop.
Coach Cooper is our is our dilemma. But well, just
I mean, that's the only option we're going to have.
Is we talked about it already. That'll be the flowing
(05:48):
we're going. Yeah, I mean that's what we do. I
guess sort of. You get paid the big buck. It's
easy for me to say is I'll be on the dock.
I will be the least popular person at the event tomorrow.
I'll be sure to tell Cooper.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
That there's already some grumbling.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
Yes, I got least popular by the minute I saw.
I opened an email this morning and saw that they
really wanted to do this, and my popularity went way
down immediately.
Speaker 5 (06:12):
I've gotten a couple of texts through the week, Hey
have you talked to Anderson?
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Talked to Anderson, boy, tell him not to do this.
I'm all about not doing it, but I don't see it.
It's all good.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
See you through life and being a captain for many
years myself and then Alaska twice, and it's pretty much
wherever I go, I charter a captain, and it's a
pretty strict rule of thumb is if the captain doesn't
want to go, don't go.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
It was funny because again when you said, talk to her,
the great Sarah Costello over there with the lightning, I
told her, I said, Sarah, here's how I always analyze it. Okay,
if I didn't have a trip, but I didn't have
a charter booked. But I wake up in the morning
and even consider putting my boat in the water to
(07:04):
go fishing. I love to fish. Have the day off.
There's a chance I could splash my boat and go fishing.
I could go looking around. There's zero chance, absolutely zero
chance that tomorrow I would want to put the boat
in the water.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Well, even going looking around, what are you looking around?
So next time it blows thirty five you might know
where to go find fish. You're not going to be
able to see anything anyway.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
That's one of the days I head over the boat
and motor and hang out with Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
Exactly, yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly, it's a perfect day. Or
string up your gear, wipe it down, do something, just
you know, we clean your boat, don't boat out and
all the gear, don't put it in the don't put
it in the water. So we're gonna have some win.
Things are gonna get a little crazy here. We'll get
through it. It's all good. Interesting time of the year though.
We haven't had this much coldness early in a couple
(07:52):
of years, so it should be interesting.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
This is going to be a record. This is going
to be a record. Yeah, I mean it's it's always
disim It's gotten later every year, obviously, but it's pretty
early to have a you know, we're gonna have frost
and freeze warnings in Central and North Florida.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
It's crazy.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
I kind of like it. Yeah, well it used to
be that way. We wanted that, you know, kind of
like deer hunting too. It makes the leaves fall off
the trees so you can see a lot further in
different stuff and perks everything. I think the seasons are great.
I think it's gotten harder and harder for you guys
chartering when you don't have very distinct seasons and shifts,
(08:32):
and you know, the only thing that's consistent is length
of day. The only thing you count on is the
length of day.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
Right, Yeah, it changes, it changes the game a little bit.
There's no doubt. So you said you like it. You
like it from the standpoint of it's cooler out where,
you like what it does to the fish.
Speaker 5 (08:50):
I like that it pushes the fish up shallow and
makes us at sea and the water gets clear, because
that's one of the one of the things I'm passionate
about as it's sight fishing. Yea, whether it's not redfish,
whatever's laid up.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
I think that I've always said it's what we need.
We need the seasons. The stretch we've had with the
stretch we did have last year was kind of cold too,
but you know, for a while there it was these
really warm, mild winters. Yeah, And I just don't think
it rolled things over the way he's in.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
This past summer.
Speaker 5 (09:25):
We didn't have crazy algae blooms in the day, all
the green algae, all that stuff that that brown stuff
that's sludgy.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
We didn't really have that buffalo snot.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
That's what we've always called it. I know that Scott
Moore has.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
A very buffalo snot is what I've always called it.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
But when it gets bloom bad, and that's when there's
low oxygen in the water and it's just stagnant and
the tides are slow and it's really hot. Yeah, you
gotta love the winter time when everything when the water
just turns gin clear, though, that's when it's excited.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
That's awesome.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
But those the seasons are not just for the fish.
It's for the groceries too. I mean, we need all
the hatcheries and little shrimps and the crabs to get.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
On that clear water, letting the grass grow.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
And I agree, yeah, I think that that's been part
of the problem. I'm hoping that's been part of the
problem with our lack of habitat. The loss of grass
that I've seen is I think, you know, we've had
these mild winters where it just hasn't got his gin clear.
There's been some years when that when it gets really cold,
you can see the bottom and you know, fifteen twenty
(10:29):
foot of water, you're looking at rocks on the bottom,
going wow, it'll actually scare you. Yeah, when you're running,
for sure. Yeah, when it gets super clean like that,
it looks more shallow.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Than what it is when in doubt. Throttle out.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
Nice nice, yeah, so very interesting, very interesting. We got
the bass Nation red fish, big red fish, tournament going on.
Our good friend Cap Ryan Rickard out there in Texas.
I haven't checked the leaderboard yet.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
But what about the Kingfish situation?
Speaker 4 (10:56):
Oh yeah, I want to who in the Kingfish tournament
the big kicking the beach was yet I don't know.
I have well, have to pull that up too.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
So problem.

Speaker 7 (12:13):
Good?
Speaker 6 (12:13):
Yeah, yeah, excuse me. I got a little frog in
my throat?
Speaker 4 (12:19):
You do I hear that? Yeah, it's like a big front.
Speaker 6 (12:24):
We I got the Spanish mackerel to the kayak. We
had ladyfish. I got ladyfish and the lizardfish of trout
I got too trout. One was eighteen the other one
was seventeen and a half. Okay, so that was pretty
decent on the paddle tale there, you know, Beavis the
(12:45):
park and then came back in and cooked up that
low country boil for everybody, and it was awesome.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
How was the lizard fish?
Speaker 6 (12:58):
Lizardfish actually was pretty big.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
Did you put it in the low Country boiled? That's
the question. Yeah, no, okay, all right, always wondered.
Speaker 6 (13:08):
Now there's the crab legs, Shrimpedy and duly sausage, the
little red potatoes and corn and the cob Listen.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
I don't understand what's happening with this show. Yesterday we
had this guys, you're talking food way too early. Seven
in the morning. The big Man's hungry. This is not
the time to be talking food.
Speaker 6 (13:28):
I've got my six year old granddaughter, Elizabeth here. She
came last night. He slipt over, and so I'm sitting
at my kitchen table and what got this show on?
And she comes over and sits next to me. She goes,
who's that?
Speaker 8 (13:41):
Who's that?
Speaker 9 (13:42):
Who's that?
Speaker 4 (13:45):
Good stuff? That stuff? All right, buddy, I'm.
Speaker 6 (13:47):
Making new cinnamon rolls right now.
Speaker 4 (13:49):
See what did I just say? The same thing? You're
killing me. I'm hanging up on you now. I have
a good day, Donald, enjoy your day, my friend.
Speaker 6 (14:00):
Hey, let's go and go Packers. You know, I can't
believe Caroline is like I lost money on that game.
Speaker 4 (14:08):
A lot of people lost money on that game. I
don't know what to tell you. Yeah, I don't know
what to tell you. All right, brother, I gotta I
gotta make another call you the man, have a great day.
Enjoy the grandkids.
Speaker 6 (14:18):
Yes, you take care of man, all right?
Speaker 4 (14:19):
Pardon good stuff. So much passion for fishing. Right there,
Let's go to a legend one of our good friends
down in book a grand the legendary Captain Captain Van Hubbard.
Captain Hubbs, what's up?
Speaker 10 (14:31):
Good morning, good morning, good morning, good morning. How y'all doing.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
We're good, buddy, we're good. We're just getting preparing for
the blow here.
Speaker 10 (14:41):
Yeah. Well check out your phone when you get a chance.
I sent you a text. I woke up the snow
this morning.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
Oh okay, Well where are.
Speaker 10 (14:47):
You, beautiful upstate Illinois? We're up here, dear hunting. I
sent you some pictures to tease you.
Speaker 4 (14:55):
Nice, painful a boy.
Speaker 10 (14:57):
And beautiful up here. Sound like they did real good
at the King of the Beach yesterday. They had almost
forty pounder that won.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
Yeah, I saw that. Thirty seven something.
Speaker 5 (15:07):
Right, thirty nine nicety nine?
Speaker 10 (15:12):
Yeah, big fire. They did good and great to hear you, guys.
Great to hear and see Ben every now and then,
and you'll keep up the good works. Sorry about the weather.
I'm coming home tomorrow, so I guess I'm bringing this
weather with me. Yeah, all my fault.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
You might, you might that flight might get delayed if
it blows away.
Speaker 10 (15:36):
I'm coming to Saint Pete Clearwater, so I think I'll
be okay, Okay, I'm hearing they still. Bill Miller was
telling me they're still tarting around, and so was Bill Harmer. So,
but that'll all be gone. Yesterday was the last day
for that. With the wind. Today and tomorrow and everything,
they're done.
Speaker 4 (15:54):
Yeah, it's going to go south for sure. It's going
to change, which is okay, what do you think? Oh,
I got you. Let me ask you what capt micro
Gallon studio here and we were talking about how we
like this. You know, it's going to get cold. We
like a little bit of a colder winter. Obviously we
don't want to freeze. But what are your thoughts on
the seasons versus those mild winters we had there for
quite a long stretch.
Speaker 10 (16:16):
I definitely like the colder winners, and we have to
be careful about hard freezes. But freezes are necessary to
find out some of the evasive species that we have
in the water and out of the water, but especially
you know, like iguanas and pythons and all that kind
of stuff. So and boy, I like cold weather trout
(16:39):
and red fishing. It's fine sky Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:42):
I agree, agree, I love it. Yeah, I think we
get a better.
Speaker 10 (16:47):
She pat are usually good then too.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
Yeah, no doubt. I think we get a better pushing
them big trout in the winter when we have a
nice cold winter. I thought the trout fish in the
spring was a lot better because of that.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
They're a lot heardier when it's cold too. They're stronger,
they're happy.
Speaker 10 (17:01):
Yeah, I agree, what better eating too, in my opinion, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
The meats firmer. Yeah, no doubt.
Speaker 4 (17:08):
Captain Van. We appreciate the call. Brother, travels safe and
enjoy your last day up there, dear camp.
Speaker 10 (17:16):
Good luck, buddy, y'all have a great gay good show.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
Thanks Bell, appreciate you good stuff right there. That guy's
a legend. He's been doing it forever forever. The first
time I was down to book a grand and I
was like, you know who's that. That's Captain Van Hubbard.
You're just like, what there he is?
Speaker 7 (17:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
He was a resident of the Florida Gods Association there
for a few years.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
I thought it was just a mythical creature. But there
he is.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
It's all those Hubbards.
Speaker 4 (17:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
I was going to say it's the name.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
No, No, I can't wait for Daling to call in
because every time I turn on the TV if the
news is on, it's great jud or Dalan Hubbing.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
Sugar Bear.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
Very dangerous place to be is between either one of
them in a camera.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
It's getting that way on social media too.
Speaker 4 (18:04):

a new nickname. So good stuff. Phone lines are open here, questions, comments,

Let's go to the phones here. Phone lines are open
one eighty eight five four six four six twenty Captain
micro gal Bay Native Fishing joining us in studio. Let's
go to Andy in Tampa. Andy, how are you this morning?
I'm well, what you got me talking?
Speaker 11 (19:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 12 (19:17):
Well?
Speaker 13 (19:17):
It interested in catching king mackrel. It seems like the
water temperature has dropped through the preferred range in the
last week. I know the King of the Beach was
this weekend. Are the kings out there?
Speaker 4 (19:27):
I mean, based on what we saw from the King
of the Beach, you know, the kingfish are still here
and it's pretty strong. I'm not sure.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
What's but you say, out there those guys are running.
Speaker 13 (19:38):
I mean.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
Yes, but you know some of those guys run like
yeah alone.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
There's still been some fish. There's still been some fish close.
You know, some of the hard bottom spots that I fished.
I had a great kingfish day here about two weeks ago. Now,
we probably caught seventeen mixed in with some big Spanish.
I like to get over the hard bottom and just
chum up and kind of get a fishing frenzy going.
You get some banita in there, things like that. Yeah,
(20:07):
actually that's exactly where I was. The parking lot. It
was really good and there was you know, six seven
of us out there. Everybody was kind of anchored up.
But I heard, you know, a day later they were gone,
and then the day after that they were back.
Speaker 13 (20:21):
So you know, John's pass in a week and a half,
you think they'll be gone by the.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
Probably, I would I I mean, technically they should be
gone because what's going to happen is this this coal
front is going to drop that water tip probably by
ten degrees. If I had to guess, which you think, like, yeah,
then for sure probably go south, yeah.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
Or deep.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
It'll go deep. But so what I would say is
there's probably still going to be some kingfish around, but
I would think the major, a major push is going
to happen to the south, so it won't be as
if you can find them, it won't be as good
as it was a couple of weeks ago. I wouldn't
think just because of that, just because that water tamp,
that water tamp is really critical for them, and they
(21:07):
swim hard, they swim a lot. The bait's really important.
And again I don't think the bait's gonna leave because
I don't think it's gonna be cold enough long enough.
But it's certainly gonna move the bait north west. Yeah,
but that's the other thing. And the other thing too,
is another thing that happens with kingfish too. Just like
a lot of a lot of fish on the beach,
(21:28):
they don't like the water real dirty. Our water's not
normally dirty. So when that wind blows, especially the way
it's gonna blow out of the northwest, the beach is
gonna dirty up, and that's going to push those fish deep.
So I wish I had a I wish I had
a better answer for you, because you sound passionate about
catching kingfish, and I'd love to see a picture of
(21:49):
you with a big kingfish. I just you might have missed. Yeah,
you might have missed the window. It's hard to tell.
It's one of the toughest things being an in short
charter captain, a bay boat guy like im. I love
the kingfish run. But you know, I think last year,
I don't even know if last year I got a
chance to do it, because every day that I had
a charter. It was blowing and I couldn't get out there.
(22:10):
You could get out there, but it wasn't going to
be comfortable, you know, so you end up doing something else.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
Yeah, but you never know unless you go. So it
tooks fact too.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Well, that's one of those fishs just kind of like
a tarp and you only really need one good hookup
and landing. I mean, if it's a good smoker.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
Yeah, of course. Yeah. Yeah, let us know how you do, Andy,
if you do go, Yeah, if you do go, let
us know how you do. I'd be interested. Thank you,
thank you, good stuff. Good question, good question. Let's get
a report from the beautiful floor to Keys and then
we'll go to Chuck and Steph. No, let's check in
with Cat, Mike Perry, Michael, how are you.
Speaker 12 (22:45):
The Kingfisher headed my way? Is what they.
Speaker 4 (22:49):
Yes, they are.
Speaker 12 (22:50):
They know better, they know better.
Speaker 4 (22:52):
Yeah, no doubt.
Speaker 12 (22:53):
We're uh, we're about to experience our normal iguana fall
from the tree. It's going to reach the temperature, yes, sir,
the big thump on the ground. You know it too.
You can be sitting inside and when a good, big
one hits the ground, you look at everybody and look
at your wife or whatever and go they're hitting the ground.
(23:15):
It's cold outside.
Speaker 4 (23:16):
I wonder if anyone's ever been hurt just walking under
a tree.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
The icicles we've got.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
I don't understand why there's not more recipes because I mean,
they're eating iguanas. Maybe not they eat them?
Speaker 10 (23:32):
Are I don't they do?
Speaker 12 (23:34):
They're supposed to be very good, uh, cooked on a
grill and stuff. If you know what you're doing.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
I think about it. There is very little that flies, swims,
crawls or slivers that can't be cooked and eaten by
somebody somewhere. Why not an iguana chicken?
Speaker 12 (23:54):
Well we have real quick we have and it coincides
this week we have the lower keys use of going
a round up, and it's perfect. A lot of these
kids have the high powered uh you know, the single
shot pellet or BB guns with the big air bottle
on them, and they're paid for a certain amount. So
(24:15):
it's kind of like the python roundup. And I told
my neighbors kids who are under the age they're still
able to do it.
Speaker 14 (24:23):
I said, you can put.
Speaker 12 (24:24):
The guns down on Monday and just wait for him
to hit the ground.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
And but last last year in my owne. He did that.
He would not balk at the idea of walking with
a bunch of kids with pellet guns through urban Miami.
Blow it up. And they even had a fetch. They
had a retrieved dog, which I found out. You know
it's not you don't see that add in the paper
on a retriever, but they had one exactly.
Speaker 11 (24:51):
Yeah, you could train.
Speaker 10 (24:53):
Uh chocolate last, chocolate.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
Last, black last.
Speaker 11 (24:58):
Really yeah, black lab.
Speaker 12 (25:03):
But anyway, the kids that I told the kids, I said,
you get that borrow. They're going to borrow my big
cooler off the boat. I said, line that thing with ice.
I said, you pick them up, you throw them in there.
They stay in that state of whatever state they get in,
and then you just you talk about I mean, they
cook them up. They're fresh. Like I said, I've never
(25:25):
eaten one and won't. But they do it, and they
get paid for it and they make a nice little
chunk of change. It's a big It's like a fishing
tournament for iguanas. And I said, you get to leave
the guns at home on Monday, which is pretty cool.
So the fishing has been fantastic. We went out yesterday,
actually we went out in the evening. I had a
(25:47):
group from one of the race boats wanted to catch
a Kuberra snapper, and so we went out and I said,
the guy goes, you got the bait, and I said yeah,
I said, lift up my bait. Well, he goes, those
are lobsters. I said, that's what we use them for.
I said, I brought, I brought your I brought one
(26:08):
person's limit on the boat plus my limit. We brought
twelve lobsters, and we ended up getting four Kubert snapper,
all in the thirty to forty pound range. I'll have
some pictures up nic and when they hit, when they
hit a lobster, they crush it. And we put two
big eight hot circle hooks right in the lobster. You
(26:29):
smell those hooks, You bury them in the lobster, you
drop it down, you leave it in the gunnel, and
when that rod bends over, pretty much they're pretty much
the only thing that's going to eat a big lobster.
And if they miss it and you bring that lobster up,
it's destroyed. I mean, they can absolutely one bite destroy
(26:51):
a lobster. We had a good time last night.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
They got a big one that way and they put
the lobster on the hook, I said, what am my
biggest dome in don't miss? Shouldn't we just keep the luck?
Speaker 14 (27:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (27:05):
I got a forty. I got a forty of thirty
of twenty and a twenty five and one trip, So
it was pretty cool and it took me years.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
They got some chompers on them too.
Speaker 4 (27:12):
Yeah, but he really impressively.
Speaker 12 (27:14):
Yeah, that was the fish that eluded you, Mike.
Speaker 11 (27:16):
It was.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
Yeah, it was my white elephant until the last time.
My wife caught one on our very first trip down there,
and it took me to our like six or seventh
trip to catch one. So do you have any idea
how many years I took the heat over? Yes, exactly.
That's how it goes. Michael good good report. Brother.
Speaker 12 (27:34):
All right, guys, listen, come down. This is the time
of the year to come to the keys. If it's
cold in North Florida. Yes, it's a little chili for
us keys people, but come on down and do some fishing.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
Okay, love it you de man, brother, Thank you, sir,
great report. Have a great day, a right, buddy, enjoy
the Florida Keys where it's going to be a little
warmer than what we have. Let's go to real quick.
Let's go to Chuck in Sefner. Chuck, how are you brother?
Speaker 15 (27:58):
Good morning, doing great guys. I first want to start
out by saying, I hear a lot of people say
and how great of a show it is, but I
want to emphasize on how important it is that you're
just here. I'll take the bad shows over any show.
You know, not being able to listen to you guys,
So I just want to say thank you for that
for a beginning with the other thing is is that
what about us being able to get some recognition of
(28:20):
some of these celebrities that we have on the radio
when we come to the meet and greet. So I
don't get the chance to know who people are. I've
been listening to you guys for a long time, and
it'd be great to be able to put you know,
face to the name on some of these people. Maybe
a spoiler one day and just I know you got like, mahoney,
ain't going to put a sticker on anyway. But we
(28:40):
used to have the mainpact back in the day. But
you know they're kind of incognito guys, but you could
just say you know who.
Speaker 8 (28:46):
That person is?
Speaker 10 (28:47):
Or whatever.
Speaker 15 (28:49):
And then the last, yeah, last and last, but not least,
is that you know, I go over the bridge over
here at Howard Franklin, I see the old bridge getting
tore down. And yesterday listening to Dylan talk about how
the skyway structure on the one side is crumbling, I mean,
common sense is going to tell you that the north
side can't be too far behind. It's the same concrete.
(29:09):
I can't believe it's a different contractor. So you know,
they're tearing the old bridge down. What happened to us
being able to use that for fishing in for pedestrians.
We're spending millions of dollars to put these pedestrian walkways
over which they have intentions of fishing in the beginning
when they pass it. But then when they pass it
and the thing gets built, there's no fishing allowed. So
for a guy that you know is out without a boat,
(29:30):
you know, I'm just a waiting guy without the experience
of Wai or Dave, of course. But but you know
the other thing, you know, what happened to us being
able to utilize that resource before they tore it down.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
Yeah, it's a great question. I think it's an interesting topic.
You know. The the weird part for me about the
bridge situation is I've been to the Keys now so
many times, and so many of the bridges and the
Keys have been there forever. So anytime I hear them
talking about tearing down our fishing pier or that there's
(30:04):
something wrong with it, I always immediately think that there's
something like some back door dealings going on, that this
can't make sense because the Keys bridges have been there forever. Now, Dylan,
who does a much better job than I do of
deep diving this stuff, you know, he's telling me that
he's talked to FDOT and that the concrete is literally crumbling.
(30:26):
And I've been under the bridge several times because I
get bait there often, and you can see areas where
that concrete has fallen away. So I think just something
in the way they designed that bridge is not up
to spec for longevity, if that makes any sense, you
know what I'm saying. I just don't think they can.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
He gets Spalding especially, all of them have rebar on
the inside. As soon as you get some of that
salt water or any kind of water moisture into the rebar,
the rebar expands and rust and it spawls, it blows
out the concrete spaulding.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
Well, my dad would call him. I know he's listening.
Speaker 5 (31:03):
He's a concrete expert literally, so maybe he could explain
it to us.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
Yeah, that'd be good, mister.
Speaker 15 (31:09):
I can understand that part. The part that I don't
understand is when we're tearing down a good bridge that
everybody's been driving over for years.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
Oh yeah, no, I got it.
Speaker 15 (31:17):
Yeah, right, if we're going to lose part of the
bridge over on the south side for whatever reason it is.
I mean, I granted, if it's deteriorating and everything's fine, okay,
But also, you know, there's a lot of wooden area,
wooden structures that people fish on, and it's fish at
your own wrist.
Speaker 10 (31:33):
You know.
Speaker 15 (31:33):
I mean, you can go over there to John's Pass.
Speaker 8 (31:35):
On the corner of the pier and it's risky on
the rocks.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
When I first moved to Tampa, I didn't have a boat,
and I fished a lot. I came from a lot
of freshwater fishing who had to gandy. I fished candy
all the time. Had a walkway on the north side,
and the first three or four lights there were awesome
at night certain times a year for trout, lady fish.
You know, we go catch fish. We went quite a bit.
(32:01):
You just drive down there in the evening fishing hour
or two and mostly throwing artificials. Sometimes stay all night
if the fishing was good. But the trout fishing was
phenomenal under the lights, and that's what we had now.
Tampa Bay we talk about all the time. Tampa Bay
is Saint Petersburg, Fort Deesta. You got some of the
best wade fishing in the state between the causeways and
(32:22):
Fort de Soto and.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
A lot of accessible area four Street.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
You know, it's a lot of accessible areas for waiters,
no doubt. A lot of the places we take charters
from the waiters are right next to it.
Speaker 15 (32:36):
Go ahead, now that we're at this cold front is
coming through, where would you be recommending you to be
doing your waight? And I understand that everything's going in
the back country and pushing to the back. So as
a waiter guy, if I was going to ask, where
would you be targeting for wadefishing right now?
Speaker 2 (32:51):
Island?
Speaker 4 (32:53):
Yeah, I try to find somewhere. I try to find
somewhere with some deep pockets and some deep edges that
you can get kind of close to that way if
those fish have pushed off a lot of times when
it gets like this and it gets cold and some
of Mikey's favorite stuff to do. Those fish. As it
gets really cold, they will drop off, especially at night,
they'll drop off those edges that that water temp drops
(33:16):
a little bit. But in the afternoons, late in the morning,
when that sun's out, you get clear bluebird skuys. Those
fish will push up onto some of those dark bottom
areas and start to warm up and get active. And
well that back by you what was that guy's name,
we call it, it's his hole started with an m oh,
mags hole or no, but yeah, that's perfect when the
(33:39):
water gets really cold, that big white sand hole in
the back of that school. Yeah huge. Uh damn. He's
an old charter cap crouchy guy. And I can't hit
his name either now, but yeah, good, I mean that's
what I You know, Ford de Soto is a great area.
There's a lot of great stuff there. If you're up
around clear Water. There's a lot of great stuff around
clear Water done eating. You know, a lot of that
(34:01):
stuff up around Honeymoon and all that. If you can.
You can access a lot of those areas.
Speaker 5 (34:06):
You can take the ferry out to kalidc. Yeah that's
really nice too. Yeah, for sure, So let us know how,
let us know how you do. It's a great call, Chuck,
and listen.
Speaker 4 (34:14):
I think you'll never get me to understand why we
build why but they would tear down a bridge that,
like you said, now, we could use. Maybe they could
use the parts of the old Howard Franklin for access
for fishermen. And you know, I don't know why they
don't do that. It makes no sense to me. So
I'm with you.
Speaker 15 (34:32):
And you know we're spending millions on pedestrian bridges, you know,
for bicyclists and people to walk, which I get it,
but then to say no, you can't fish off of it,
and we're going right over the same water that we
used to fish years ago.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
So yeah, it's a great all right, gentlemen, great call,
and we appreciate you listening very much.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
Brother, No sabinkies, and watch out for the pelicans.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
Exactly right.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
They will ruin everything.
Speaker 4 (34:56):
I have a great Sunday, Chuck, have a good one, thanks, buddy,
good call, good call.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
Love that mahoney. Spent the better part of four months
on the whole pelican Well, dude, it's them climb climbing
up and netting them in their roosting and the mangroes.
And then the greatest for me was off the skyway.
They were throwing cast nets on the pelicans, you know,
to bring them up and get hooks and line. I
mean understand the intent, but can you imagine your little
(35:23):
pelican net and you know, you hope they're pretty good
with the you know, with the main line in the
brail line, because I mean it's a weighted net. You
to get a pretty good dunky. Take a deep breath
before they just I just watched them cast netting pelicans
and they're the people trying to help the pelicans or.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
They bait them. They bait they used the bait to
get the pelicans to come to them. I'm like, really, bro,
and and we're the problem.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
Well, mahoney had them videos of them climbing through the
mangroves with long nets. You're snagging them.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
There's a crew running around now out there a conception
where they're checking it every day now and if you're
fishing there, they'll paddle right up through your stuff. Now,
thank the Good Lord that it hasn't happened to me yet,
because there will be a scene. There will be a scene.
I promise you.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
I've had them. I've had them kayak right over my
floats of weed Island or even fishing with other guides
and they just go.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
And just make sure it's not on video.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
Yeah, we don't need another one, right, Yeah, that wasn't
so great.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
There's cameras.
Speaker 4 (36:37):
Good look, No, it's not a good look.
Speaker 3 (36:39):
Career ending, that's a that's the scariest thing for hunters now,
you know, for forever. Now, you know, if you have
a calling in the woods, you don't run back to
your trailer. You take care. Now you've got to really
do a circle and a pair of wet looking for cameras,
or you're going up on YouTube in a very comp
(37:00):
minsing photo or actually down it's videos.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
High quality videos right.
Speaker 3 (37:06):
Well even last year, a year before, I'm sitting on
a spot with one of our buddies up there and
he knew that I was going there to shoot does
and he sends me a text picture of the dose
I'm looking at is what are you waiting on? I'm
like there used to be a time where you could
be by yourself in the woods. He's watching my deer.
Speaker 4 (37:26):
From from.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
God. Man, it's unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
There's cameras everywhere now and they're they're very useful. I
get it, and the technology has come a long way
where But now with that individual you were just with
a deer camp. You almost can't have a conversation with
him because he's They're constantly calling there's another deer, there's
another deal.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
I purposely don't and everyone by now knows if you
listen to show how much deer hunting is at the
top of my love to do list. I can't do
the I can't do the camera thing. I will get
nothing accomplished. Nothing if that thing coming into my phone
twenty four to seven, just pictures, pictures, pictures, pictures, there's
(38:08):
no way, well I would get nothing done.
Speaker 5 (38:10):
What about how exciting it used to be when you
had to develop the film and flip them.
Speaker 2 (38:15):
Through the role. Oh man, look at that one. When
was this oh four weeks ago? I wonder where he's at.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
Now even now I'm doing sim cards, I mean, you know.
Speaker 4 (38:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
So we go back to the house, sit in the
porch and go ooh, this is last week, you know.
But these guys with the real time I get it.
Speaker 4 (38:32):
I don't. I can't. I do get it, but I
can't do it.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
But I don't. I don't hunt the cameras anyway. I
just hunt.
Speaker 4 (38:37):
Yeah. Well, that's just it's the best way to be
in the woods in my opinion. Just go sit in
the woods and enjoy the silence, the quiet. I'll tell
you this when you go to Georgia. For those of
you who don't hunt and you think it's all about
one thing or the other, it's listen. Just to go
to central Georgia where there's no traffic is amazing. I
(38:59):
can't I get irritated before. I'm like, I'm forty minutes
from my house and I'm already irritated by the traffic
because I'm.
Speaker 3 (39:06):
I drive from Andersonville to America's for supplies or whatever
to town in past two or three cars fifteen miles.
Rights is a car. There's a car. And I mean,
where in Tampa can you go fifteen miles in twelve minutes?
Speaker 4 (39:27):
Yeah you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (39:28):
We'll be there in twelve minutes.
Speaker 4 (39:31):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no doubt.
Speaker 3 (39:33):
But that is all that is all part of it
is everything you need is fifteen miles away.
Speaker 4 (39:38):
It reminds me of going home to see my mom
and in central Wisconsin, a little bit of Oshkosh, Wisconsin,
and I'll be like, hey, Mom, you know, let's go
to this restaurant. My mom will be like, Michael, that's
all the way across town. I'm like, it's eight minutes.
For God's sake, what do you mean it's all the
way across town. Yes, it's all the way across town,
but there's no traffic. Who cares? I drive forty five
(40:01):
minutes to get to my boat in the morning. Like
with eight minutes, I mean green Bay with green Bay,
Wisconsin is like forty five minutes, maybe fifty minutes. Like
I can be at Lambo in forty five or fifty minutes.
And every time I go home, I go to Lambo
to go to the pro shop every time because they
got new cool stuff. I want to go get some
(40:22):
new cool stuff. I ask my mom, Hey, you want
to go with us. She's like, oh, God, all the
way to green Back.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
I didn't have a month to plan. Yeah, I'm like, oh,
we got to pack a basket.
Speaker 4 (40:34):
Yeah, Roadside had yeah, get the water. It makes no
sense to me, dude, absolutely hysterical. I keep waiting for
us to have to go to break. We have more callers,
but I kept thinking we were on alone. Oh, we
can take call all right, jab's paying attention. That's perfect.
Let's go to Ray in Saint Pete Ray, How are
you this morning?
Speaker 16 (40:55):
I'm great, guys. The great show has always been gentlemen.
Yep about waiting, Chuck, Yeah, okay, I don't wait anymore
because I can hardly walk anymore. But it's we used
to call it the no Name channel. It now goes
in the bay Watch.
Speaker 2 (41:16):
Right, I got you, Yeah, the crab channel.
Speaker 16 (41:19):
All right, if you've got a load tight in the winter, boy,
that place used to load up. We'd catch four, five, six, seven,
eight different types of fish in there every time. And
then right across from where you would park to go there,
we call it the bomb Crater hole. There's that big
hole right off the causeway there, there's.
Speaker 3 (41:41):
One right out. There's a big white sand hole that's
acres right out in front of bay Watch that this
is the time of year. Well, there'll be a lot
of silver drought in there right on the bottom.
Speaker 4 (41:51):
And you know what what what one of the tools.
And I hate to even talk about it out loud
because it's irritating the most chartered captains. But Google Earth
is a gift, you know, for wade fishermen when you're
looking for areas that you can that you can kind
of see the road, you can kind of see if
there's a cut in the mangroves that you can get
through to start to wade into some of those areas
(42:12):
in Fort to Soto that aren't quite so popular.
Speaker 3 (42:14):
A great tool that that I actually learned from Hageman
a long time ago. The wintertime radical low tides, when
when I would think it would be the worst time
to go fishing, it's the best time to go scouting
and learning the topography, if you will. There's just those
radical negative threes or whatever.
Speaker 4 (42:35):
You go, Wow, I.
Speaker 3 (42:35):
Didn't know there was even an oise borrow. The other
thing is, well it concentrates the fish. They they there's
no water, they have to go elsewhere, so go ahead, right.
Speaker 16 (42:47):
Well, last of the time we used to fish that
channel and that hole, and then many years ago we
used to drive out all the way to the end
of Fort to Soto out by the tower. Yeah, and
it's hard. It used to be really hard to get
into the water there. But if you could get in there,
those red used to go back there in that little
cob and sitting there a lot of times.
Speaker 4 (43:08):
You know, Ray, I love it when you call, but
sometimes you talk too much. Yeah, stop stop it, Ray,
stop stop it while you're.
Speaker 16 (43:20):
You gotta help.
Speaker 4 (43:22):
I know, I know, I'm just giving you a hard time,
my friend. Good stuff, great call, Ray is always have
a great Sunday, buddy, Thank you, Thank you pal. I
love those guys have been calling for years. I really
do you know who we got on the line. Next legend,
the other legend, not the normal sitting here legend, Mike
(43:44):
Mezra world traveling legend, Tam Bay Sporting plays. We're gonna
hear from Mike mezzure here on the other.
Speaker 3 (43:50):
A yachting capital. Well, you know he's kind of a seafarer, you.
Speaker 4 (43:54):
Know, a flying planes. Yeah yeah, Captain Stubing on one week,
you know, flying planes on another. It's ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (44:02):
What if he's got the white hat and the little
white youth with the stripes on the shoulder.
Speaker 4 (44:08):
It's with him. It's a white cowboy hat. Yeah, the
white cowboy hat check. Phone lines are open here one

Speaker 11 (45:22):
Good morning guys, Good morning's buddy. Wow is it foggy today?
Speaker 4 (45:26):
Huh yeah?
Speaker 12 (45:26):
Wow?
Speaker 11 (45:28):
It was crazy. Were you I was thinking about you?
Speaker 4 (45:31):
I was.
Speaker 11 (45:31):
I went to late Pan last night and had a
late night. Frenchies had their shoot last night Frenchy's restaurant.
Oh my god. Great event. Bought a lot of stuff
I probably didn't need, but it went to a great cause.
And but yeah, they had three hundred plus people for
Big Brothers, Big Sisters. Great event. I just said, you know,
I'm one of the lake. And the moon was coming
(45:54):
up just it must have been some kind of blood moon.
It was just orange and then it went up, and
I mean, you guys were talking about and I'm like,
this is I mean, I was just so it at
peace up there, Mike. I get the traffic thing because
you're like me, it's yeah, I mean, I get so frecked.
Come home and I'm just like so frustrated, Like Tampa's
not the same. That not the Tampa that we had
(46:15):
forty thirty years ago. Forty years ago. It's crazy. Anyway,
we could go on all day.
Speaker 3 (46:20):
I know, I do like catfish Johnny's up there, Johnny's
Catfish House.
Speaker 11 (46:25):
Yeah right, it's still there. I went by at eight
o'clock and it was already closed and everything. Yeah, pretty early, the.
Speaker 4 (46:34):
Big best grill was up nice and running nice.
Speaker 11 (46:38):
It's it's all good. Yeah, everything, everything's great. Uh, then
we got some good targets. I need you to come
and uh and take a look at the purple and
I just changed the orange to a solid intermediate course
and uh, we're moving around a lot of stuff, but
I gotta tell you that the purple courses is awesome.
You guys got to come.
Speaker 3 (46:58):
And I just recently got granted a little bit more
spare time.
Speaker 4 (47:01):
So you seeing me around, Yeah you might, yes, you did.
You might be able to get Ben hired on over there. Actually,
as much as he's going to be there.
Speaker 11 (47:10):
I don't know if I need that much of him.
Wait a minute, I don't know.
Speaker 10 (47:17):
That's leads job. That's leaks job.
Speaker 3 (47:19):
Too much of a good thing, right, So did you
do you have that? I still want to know. Do
you just do you have the little white hat and
the white shirt when you're on the boat.
Speaker 11 (47:30):
Well, I heard you guys busting me. I was just
smiling because I actually somebody didn't give me one of
those that I do have it on the boat. I
don't have the colors, but I do have the hat
and I have taken some pictures.
Speaker 4 (47:42):
I'm thinking the white cowboy hat, Buddy, the white cowboy
hat would work.
Speaker 11 (47:47):
Yeah, I'm not there yet, but give me a little time.
But uh, I'll be back soon with the boat. I'd
love to have cocktails on it when you guys, when
I get it back, sounds good. Yeah, i'd be great.
I'm looking forward to I miss it, miss it, but
uh yeah, we've got a lot of great events coming up,
beautiful day to day. I've got a little event here today,
and you know there's lots of great courses. So I
(48:10):
need you guys to come out and see it and
have the general public come out and just just enjoy.
Speaker 4 (48:15):
I mentioned Tampa Bay Sporting Clays. Nobody does it better
than you. Mess for sure.
Speaker 3 (48:19):
And now the temperature is right, Yeah, we's right.
Speaker 4 (48:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (48:23):
Hey, I'm supposed to go fishing a home a sassin tomorrow.
What do you guys think with this prodcast? Yeah, yeah, yeah, resketch,
it's getting down to like the fifties and probably high
forties up there and the wind's going to be blowing.
And I'm like, I'm waiting here from the guide and
I'm like, reschedule.
Speaker 4 (48:41):
He's going to tell you to reschedule. That's what he's
going to tell you. I think so too, Yeah, I
think I think so too. Yeah for sure.
Speaker 11 (48:46):
All right, well I heard it from the masters. Thank you, guys.
Keep up the great work. I'll see both of you
guys soon. Happy anniversary again, Mike.
Speaker 4 (48:53):
Thanks pardon. I appreciate your brother. Talk soon, you, guys.
He's the man. My TBSC dot com tam based Sporting
Clays absolutely world class stuff. Let's go to the phones here,
let's get our bush Lights save Boating Tip of the
week from our good friend, Coast Guard Auxiliary Captain Extraordinaire
and two time Bronze Star winner. I'm still blown away
(49:15):
by this. I found this out yesterday and I'm still
in awe. I just don't know that. Hopefully people out
there realize that the Bronze Stars don't just happen. It's
it's you have to do something.
Speaker 2 (49:28):
We're talking about all morning.
Speaker 4 (49:30):
I'm blown away. Yeah, I'm like, this is that's impressive stuff.
I mean from one veteran to another, Jim Fogel, thank
you so much for what you did for this country, man.
I mean, that's that's no joke, kid, that's good stuff, man.
Speaker 7 (49:43):
Thank you, Mike, appreciate that.
Speaker 4 (49:44):
That's really really impressive. Obviously, you know how much I
love you anyway, you and Lovely Bride and all the
time we spent together and you helping out the shows
and all that. But I Ben said he knew about it.
I didn't even know about it. I'm like, what, that's crazy,
cool man, crazy, you don't you know, when you leave
this planet, you just hope that you accomplish something, and
(50:07):
you know you've accomplished a lot. But two Bronze stars,
bro is really impressive. That's some incredible gift you've given
our country. So thank you so much. Thank you.
Speaker 7 (50:17):
Mink oh so, I want to thank all the vets,
you know, Tuesday, I think Veterans Day coming up. Thank
you guys probably already gave a good shout out. Thank
you very much and everything you guys do.
Speaker 9 (50:28):
I got a couple of things going here before you
leave the doc. I want you guys that are going
out as passengers or crew or customers to make sure
you know where the life jackets are if you're not
wearing one, how to put them on, and where the
location is of the other life saving devices on the vessel,
(50:51):
meaning eprds and radios and fire steamishers and things like that.
If you are the captain, you are responsible. Aften is
responsible for pointing out these things. But in case he
does not, as a crewman, passenger, or client, don't be
shy about asking. They know, they know, and they want
(51:14):
you to be safe, and once in a while it
might slip their mind, so you remind them that you
want to know where.
Speaker 10 (51:20):
These things are.
Speaker 4 (51:21):
Wow smart, very smart.
Speaker 7 (51:24):
Yesterday there were a lot of offshore rescues and calls
for help. I think it's because the weather was so beautiful.
I know when I got up it was flat, flat
out there. It looked like a bathtub. So before you
go out, make sure you got your eggs and the
basket and make sure everything's okay. Last thing I want
(51:44):
to say is the fog is coming in. It's already
out there right now. Remember to slow down, remember to
turn your lights on, remember to pay attention. But the
most important thing is slowing down and get out of
the channel. The big boys need the channel. Most of
us running smaller boats do not need to be in
the channel if we know where we are, so be
(52:07):
careful of that. We don't want any We don't want
any mishaps out there in the fog like we have
had several times in the past. So I guess that's
about all I got for you, guys.
Speaker 9 (52:19):
Nice time, Thanks for the time as usual for the
Coast Guard of Zoe and Saint Pete Jimpogo, be safe.
Speaker 4 (52:25):
Thanks Jim, joy your Sunday, my brother, good stuff right
there again. That's brought to you by our good friends
at Peppin Distributing and Bush Light, who remind you responsibility
matters even on the water. Let's go back to the
phones here, we got a full board. Let's try to
rattle through some Captain micro gal Bey Native Fishing in studio.
Let's check in with the A team Captain Sugar Bear.
(52:45):
What's up dog?
Speaker 3 (52:46):
There must not be any video cameras active right now
if he's got time to talk to.
Speaker 14 (52:52):
Good morning, guys, It's always a pleasure.
Speaker 4 (52:56):
Have you been following this morning? Because Ben is Ben
is enamored with your amount of time. We see your face.
Speaker 3 (53:02):
Dylan Hubbard and Grady judd Man you turn on the
news one of the other. Actually actually on the more
positive side, what I was really glad to hear, if
I heard it correctly, that you guys are taking over
running of the ferries. They were bringing in guys like
from Maryland and having to pay per diem and room
(53:22):
and board and all that stuff. And so you guys
taking that over is a very good thing for Hubbard's
and for the local economy.
Speaker 14 (53:30):
Yeah, it's very exciting. We're looking forward to it. They
are going to officially ratify that RFP award their early December,
so we're waiting for that. And then the first phase
is procurement, so we'll be working on either buying or
building boats for PSTA. And another way they're going to
lower the cost to is the PSTA is going to
own the vessel. So that way they are owning the
(53:52):
vessel through a four point eight million dollar federal grant,
So that grant will allow PSTA to actually own and
operate the vessel. We are just going to be the
bus drivers, if you will, operating the vessel, maintaining the vessel,
staffing the vessel. So that way, the cost per the
end user is going to be significantly reduced and much
lower tax burden. So very interesting setup and looking forward
(54:17):
to getting moving on it.
Speaker 10 (54:18):
For sure.
Speaker 3 (54:18):
It was so weird that he knew a little bit
about that.
Speaker 4 (54:20):
Yeah it's weird, Yeah weird. Give us, give us a
fish report here, big fellow.
Speaker 14 (54:25):
Forty four hour trip came in this morning, big old
pile of massive mangros. The average size was about six pounds.
It was nuts, some big ten eleven pound fish, just
slab mangrove snapper. Plus on top of that almost two
dozen keeper mutton snapper. And then we've been seeing a
lot of plagic species, even the mahi mahi, black fin tuna,
(54:49):
a couple of wahoo, couple kingfish, pelagic bites, been nuts,
solid red grouper, triggerfish, almaco's, all the normal players. And
then on top of that, just really really really good
showing of a lot of unique quality species this past week.
It was funny I did catch earlier when Captain Mike
Perry was talking about going out and rigging up with
(55:10):
lobster for cuberra. Well Tuesday, on our thirty nine hour trip,
we had a light load and we had a guy
bring out to Florida spiny lobster, and that's what he
wanted to do. He had heard us talking about how
we sometimes see caberra end of September in due October
here in our area. So he brought out some lobster
and sure enough we rigged up one hundred and twenty
(55:31):
five pound test Captain James told him this is the
spot you got a chance for him. Put three big
circle hooks in that lobster, dropped it down, and about
fifteen minutes later reeled up a forty plus pound cuberra.
So pretty cool to see in our area. We can
pull that off too, And man, fishing is going well
for us.
Speaker 4 (55:50):
Love that good stuff. Tell her about how they can
find you over there.
Speaker 14 (55:52):
D check us out tonight seven thirty pm live on
the Real Animals Facebook and Hubbard's Marina Facebook and YouTube.
We're going to be give and away free trips, talking
fish and answering questions. And don't forget if you're too
busy to go fishing, you're just too darn busy.
Speaker 4 (56:06):
Too darn busy. Great job, my friend, well.
Speaker 14 (56:08):
Done, appreciate it boys, Thank you for you.
Speaker 4 (56:11):
I'm sure there's a camera waiting for that guy somewhere That's.
Speaker 2 (56:14):
Why I had to get off the phone.
Speaker 4 (56:16):

some of these calls here. Let's go to let's see
who's been here the longest. Oh, Dave in Brandon, God
bless you, thank you. Good morning, Dave.
Speaker 11 (57:37):
How are you great?
Speaker 10 (57:39):
Sunday morning radio?
Speaker 12 (57:40):
Guys.
Speaker 17 (57:40):
I was in church one time and this lady told
a preacher, preacher, I want to make you some fish.
How bout some hatocks, some catfish or some orange ruffy.
Which one do you like? And he said, I like
eating fish. It don't matter exactly. Hey, guys, guys, cooking
thing up. My buddy, a longtime fisherman. He goes, Dave,
I'm going to cook you the best fish you ever had.
(58:00):
And he had some snook and I'm laughing, Okay, whatever
he said, I'm gonna blacken it.
Speaker 11 (58:04):
He gave it to me.
Speaker 10 (58:04):
It was the best fish I ever had. Guess what
he did, guys.
Speaker 17 (58:07):
He used only seasoning and Helman's mayonnaise.
Speaker 4 (58:12):
Yeah, yeah, I've ever heard of that.
Speaker 3 (58:15):
Yeah, I've cooked snook fil as many times with mayonnaise
and like old bass season or something, and before you
turn the fish, you put maynaise on tantes. It's oil
egg whites. You know, it works great cooks. Nobody will
ever know there was mayonnaise on it and it actually browned.
Speaker 7 (58:31):
That's what it was.
Speaker 17 (58:32):
It was so black and it was so perfectly black.
Speaker 7 (58:34):
You know.
Speaker 17 (58:34):
I tried it a few times, and I do enjoy it.
But I was just curious with you guys because I
eat fish at least two or three times a week.
So how about you guys give some other tips on
how you would cook pan fry fish.
Speaker 4 (58:47):
We'll do it. Good call, well done, Dave. Well, that's
my advice. When I give some people speckled perch filets,
he said, you can fry it or you can screw
it up. That's the way, pinko, Is it? Pinko? The
way to go?
Speaker 3 (59:02):
I don't know, unseasoned, more of an unseasoned, very fine ground,
you know meal. But I don't like batter on that
type of fish, So I'm very particular about my batter,
even even you know New England battered, you know, fish
fry I want more fish than batter, a very light batter,
like a tempora or whatever. But no, it's more of
(59:24):
a meal on a fish fry on speckled perch.
Speaker 4 (59:29):
So it's almost that time. You're gonna, you're gonna, you're
gonna have time this year perch fish.
Speaker 3 (59:34):
Yeah, what's happening? What happened to him? He was on?
Speaker 4 (59:40):
I don't know what's wrong with his microphone's it's a
brand new building. Yeah, yeah, you're let's go back to
the phones here, cap. Scott Moore has been hanging on
for a long time. Scott, we appreciate you hanging with us. Brother.
How are you this morning?
Speaker 7 (59:54):
No problem, good morning. I'm out here away out of
Brandon River watching my grandson play baseball. But you know,
it reminds me, Mike, I'm just steps away from one
of the best snook rivers in Florida, Oh, the Braden River. Yeah,
and red fish future out come up. But anyway, Yeah,
(01:00:15):
it looks like we're going to shuffle the deck here
with the weather.
Speaker 4 (01:00:17):
Huh. Yeah, it's going to get turned over, there's no
doubt about it, no doubt about it.
Speaker 7 (01:00:23):
And we're on the other side of the moon with
the tides and everything. So that tide's going to be low.
That means there's not much water in the bay, and
that means it's going to really chill down just the opposite,
you know.
Speaker 4 (01:00:35):
Yeah, it's going to get really cold and it's gonna
like you. So that's probably the perfect analogy. Shuffle the
deck because that's what's going to happen here. It's going
to get crazy.
Speaker 7 (01:00:45):
Yeah. The fish of really, we had all this crazy
east wind. I noticed with a mullet there's a lot
of fish already in the rivers. We've had east northeast
wind for three months. Do you know that a kingfish
is being sold at six dollars pound? Wow, it was
so rough on the east coast. That big Spanish mackerel
(01:01:05):
or three dollars a pound. Yeah, okay, yeah, that's what
they're getting the hooking line. It's crazy. Anyway, anyway, fishing
will be good. It'll just take it take a little
time to rebound. Of course, you'll have your winter. Hey
last week I had eight flounder that were beautiful. Of
course you had to let them go, but they really
(01:01:28):
are starting rebound. So it's working. It's working.
Speaker 4 (01:01:32):
Yeah, I like that.
Speaker 7 (01:01:33):
Yeah, it's really a good positive.
Speaker 3 (01:01:35):
Could you drop us a pin on on that?
Speaker 7 (01:01:40):
Well, you know, bouncing around? And I heard the kingfish
was off the charts last week.
Speaker 4 (01:01:47):
I had a really really good day out there, Like
we caught like seventeen mixed in with big mackerel, and
we had a really good kingfish bite one morning. So
I think there's a lot of spots that was really
fired off. I don't think it's going to be too
good here come Wednesday, but no, it may change.
Speaker 7 (01:02:08):
I mean, it all depends. You know, there'll still be
some around. Yeah, but like you said, a little touch
on the skyway. The Skyway, they knew that they're not
going to spend much money out there. The bottom line
is all the cars, all the weight, there's no reason
why they couldn't at least let the people park at
least half of it be able to walk out and
(01:02:30):
fish or do something with that. I don't understand that.
And you know, the green bridge is coming out in
the Manito River, but they're going to build a pier
on the Palmetto side that I've heard, so at least
we're getting some action on that mike. So there's some
positive things. Just got to work on it. That's all.
You know. The fishermen got to get political. Get with
(01:02:52):
your commissioners, you know, show them some stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:02:57):
Yeah, that way to do it. Thousand thousands of hours
on the Green Bridge in November. Yeah, walking shrimp from Oh.
Speaker 7 (01:03:07):
Yeah yeah, it was called the troll will write jig right, yep,
that's what they use.
Speaker 4 (01:03:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:03:17):
That and swish bowl. Appreciate Hey, Mike.
Speaker 7 (01:03:21):
Real quick, I got I got real quick, sat lemon
and butter, your fish, lemon and butter, saute it in
the pan, and then right when you're before you're done,
a spoonful of apple juice, throw it in on it.
Tell me that ain't good. Okay, that's the that's the
(01:03:43):
high brass restaurant. If it's a real thick filet, you
saute it brown and do it a lemon and a
little bit of lemon and butter, and then you put
it in the oven and cook it the rest of
the way. But you want to shoot it with a
little bit of apple juice. That's it off.
Speaker 4 (01:03:57):
I love it. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing that everybody,
you too, buddy, good call Okay, good stuff. Wow, there
you go. How about that for a recipe?
Speaker 3 (01:04:06):
I gotta I gotta get out more. Did you know
I Flounder was closed? No, I didn't October fifteenth through
November thirtieth.
Speaker 4 (01:04:13):
I mean he brought huh, Gary and Inglewood up on
the other side. Hopefully we'll hear from you guys as well.

the Team Ahony Company Real Animals Radio Show.
Speaker 8 (01:06:03):
How are you, hey, guys? I'm doing great this morning.
Speaker 18 (01:06:09):
You know, I was been listening to you guys while
I was online obviously beforehand too, and it was all
these complicated fishing recipes for cooking and for me, when
I catch my trout.
Speaker 8 (01:06:22):
I heat up the grill to three fifty four hundred
a nice little weather, and I put a luminar pool some.
Speaker 18 (01:06:28):
Olive oil, and I set it on skin down, and
then I put either lemon or oranges on them, and
it takes twelve minutes and it's done and it's delicious.
Speaker 8 (01:06:38):
I mean, it's nothing simpler than that.
Speaker 4 (01:06:41):
I'm a big grilled, grilled fish guy myself, but I
will say, growing up in central Wisconsin, there's something about
a fish fry that's just just right. They're very popular
up Friday night fish fries or you know, my brother
and my mom run a restaurant, and my hometown still.
Speaker 3 (01:06:58):
In the thing too. You get up in that part
of the country, Friday's fish fry, fish.
Speaker 4 (01:07:04):
Fry, yeah, fish Friday.
Speaker 18 (01:07:05):
Well I'm and fry for me, But I've never actually
deep fried anything where you drop it down in that
much oil or whatever it's go. But I do like, hey,
ain't nothing lack of friar group of saying, with no
doubt about it.
Speaker 3 (01:07:19):
Smell of snow when it hits that grease.
Speaker 4 (01:07:22):
There's nothing like it, Benny. Benny's kind of glazing glazing over.
Speaker 11 (01:07:27):
Here, you know.
Speaker 18 (01:07:30):
And you guys were talking about two times today for
whatever reason, you're talking about caberrel snapper. Yeah, and uh
which which I think I.
Speaker 8 (01:07:37):
Told you once we taught something in the backyard.
Speaker 18 (01:07:40):
I didn't know what it was, so I sent it
to Mark Goodwin from Economy Tackle and I said, what
the heck is this market? He goes, that's a ca
berrel snapper, and I'm like, really, he goes, how far
out were you?
Speaker 8 (01:07:49):
I said, the backyard. So you know what that tells
you is about our escuarries in our bays. We got
to keep them clean. There's a lot of pressure. There's
a lot more people on Florida them when I was
a kid, and.
Speaker 18 (01:08:00):
Without the esquerries, without the bays, these are the nurseries
for all those big fishing.
Speaker 8 (01:08:04):
You guys that have your big boats go out in
the golf on and without.
Speaker 18 (01:08:07):
It, we're not going to have anything. So we've got
to keep everything clean. Like you guys said before, the
fishmen really have to have a voice because all the
rules and regulations on how many you can catch really
doesn't impact the fish out there. It's how healthy the
nurseries are.
Speaker 4 (01:08:22):
Man, I can't remember.
Speaker 18 (01:08:26):
I remember right after the net man, I didn't vote
for it because I couldn't go my.
Speaker 8 (01:08:31):
Buddies out of a job. But I damn sure I
was glad it was it went through.
Speaker 18 (01:08:34):
But that was like a golden period, man, that the
bays just filled up with fish so fast. Yeah, andreek,
it's been a while.
Speaker 4 (01:08:45):
It's been a while for sure, but I don't remember, yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:08:51):
Taking the population explosion since then.
Speaker 18 (01:08:53):
But anyway, back to mind weak fishing man, it's been good,
I'll tell you it's been good. I always keep about
six pools on there, and they've all got different faiths.
And I was getting nothing, you know, I use that
saltwater as sassin. Nothing, nothing, nothing, So I don't usually
(01:09:14):
use a spoon. I started throwing a two inch gold
silver spoon and it was almost every cast. I was
getting a bumper catching a fish. I was eating trout
all week, all week, and yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:09:28):
And then yesterday I'm out. It was the worst day fish.
I only out for two hours, but I was throwing.
Speaker 18 (01:09:33):
A four inch super spook out on the grass flat
two foot of water called a twenty three inch.
Speaker 4 (01:09:38):
Trout wow og fish.
Speaker 8 (01:09:41):
We didn't eat him last night, but we're eating him.
I invited him for dinner. We're gonna have it for night.
Speaker 4 (01:09:45):
So there you go.
Speaker 8 (01:09:46):
He's quite quite good. But yeah, the fishing has been
pretty darn good. I'm I'm hoping with this barometer chase,
maybe I'll be pretty good tomorrow. They'll go out today
later on.
Speaker 4 (01:09:56):
I would I'd go today. I wouldn't go tomorrow, but
i'd go today. Tomorrow is gonna be a little splunky.
Speaker 8 (01:10:04):
I'll be the only guy out there.
Speaker 3 (01:10:05):
That'll be if you don't mind getting spritzered down and
then and there's a big glob of it coming in.
I just checked. But the barrometers jumping all over the place.
Fift and you're in front of the front. It should
be awesome.
Speaker 4 (01:10:17):
That should be really good today. Yeah, if you can
put up the.
Speaker 18 (01:10:20):
Yeah, something I thought was really odd. I must have
caught ten one day. Ten blowfish going after that bait.
Speaker 8 (01:10:29):
I find him to be the funniest fish.
Speaker 12 (01:10:32):
You know.
Speaker 8 (01:10:34):
I mean, you got this bay, you got this four,
it's bait. You got a seven, it's blowfish. You're thinking, well,
I gotta appreciate it. You know, you think what is
he gonna do it?
Speaker 3 (01:10:42):
You got them usually gets the first inch of the
back tail of plastic and they're gone.
Speaker 8 (01:10:49):
Yeah. I was catching them on the I was catching
them on the spoon. Crazy.
Speaker 4 (01:10:55):
Well you know that, Eric, You know that. Eric Bachnik
from mir Lure and Mark Nichols ford a Lures. They
have a blowfish farm in the center of the state
that they share and they feed the estuaries with extra
blowfish to chew up the bag. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:11:09):
I love to use the cheater jigs with the treble
hook at the end because I never escape a short
bite from blowfish. The problem is their teeth is so
sharp they tear it all up anyway, so you get beaked.
Speaker 4 (01:11:22):
Good call Gary, good stuff. Enjoy your enjoy the rest
of your fishing week, and uh, we'll hear from you
next week.
Speaker 8 (01:11:29):
All right, guys.
Speaker 3 (01:11:31):
And it's white wine caper sauce in a pan with trout.
That's the way to go.
Speaker 4 (01:11:36):
Okay, Ben is haunted.
Speaker 3 (01:11:40):
Yep, that's the way. At least it does. A white
wine caper sauce.
Speaker 4 (01:11:45):
Just just for trout, just for trout.
Speaker 3 (01:11:48):
It's good to hear though he's talking about harvesting and
eating them instead of just sticking with the freezer.
Speaker 4 (01:11:54):
Yeah, yeah, especially with beckled trout. Keep just what you're
gonna if you're gonna eat it that day, if you
I gonna eat it that day, then it it's a
little bushy.
Speaker 3 (01:12:03):
And I think that's true with a whole lot of it.
Speaker 14 (01:12:05):
It is.
Speaker 4 (01:12:07):
Some fish too better, But you know, for sure, speckle perch,
I was gonna say speckle perch too good. While I
does pretty good, it'll it'll stay good for a while.
But again there's nothing even then, there's nothing better than
fresh speckled perch fresh, whileye fresh snook, no doubt. Now
I'm hungry.
Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
Yeah, I'm gonna do a little harvesting off my dock.
I've been investing in a lot of fish food off
my dock. I have a quarter acre of bluegill, brim
and shell crackers that are very happy. I need to
thin the herd a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:12:40):
I think you do. Yeah, so I think you did.
Speaker 3 (01:12:43):
I don't mess with them. It's basically for the kids.
When kids come over, they can fish from the dock
and actually catch fish. So it's a lot of fun.
Speaker 4 (01:12:51):
How often do you have your feet are out a timer?
Speaker 3 (01:12:53):
Oh, it's every day. Day fifteen.
Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
Really they like my cats, do they sit and wait
for it go off?
Speaker 3 (01:13:00):
They do? And the turtles turtles there forty five minutes
before it goes off. Their little heads is sticking up
all over there ready. And then even even a great,
a great gray heron's been showing up because you'll go
over he or she, you'll go walk the bank to
get a free meal because it's piranhas. I mean, it's
just I mean, I don't just like the deer, I
(01:13:22):
don't stop feeding them, so they come every day.
Speaker 4 (01:13:25):
Wow, So how would you go about catching them? Would
you use the food that you you can catching on?
Speaker 3 (01:13:32):
Bread balls? But if I was serious about it, I
mean and beetlespins and jigs, But I mean, just go
get a box of crickets. I looked on top of
the garage refrigerator and saw my cricket box. I was like,
you know, you'll get me about.
Speaker 2 (01:13:43):
Fifty and I haven't fished with crickets since ize the kid.
Speaker 3 (01:13:46):
Get about fifty crickets. They don't last long.
Speaker 4 (01:13:49):
It's about that time of year when you know the
crickets and that fresh water party is really going to
get rocking here. So absolutely, yeah, I mean SPCA perch
season is coming, somebody. I was somewhere. Where was that going?
Speaker 3 (01:14:02):
I grew up with crickets in the breezeway. You could
always hear my grandaddy and you have to put a potato,
a slice of potato in there, a piece of wet
bread to keep them alive, seeing fish for them for days.
Speaker 4 (01:14:13):
I ran into two guys with a little bitty boat.
I can't remember where I was headed. I was headed
somewhere and I don't remember where, but I stopped at
the gas station and walked by and they were getting
their boat all geared up and fueled up. I'm like,
you guys, look like you're going fishing. He was like,
spec bike's been good. I'm like, really in November.
Speaker 3 (01:14:35):
And really all my doc I may go with a
spider fly. You know, if I can get them to
hit a fly on a little lightweight fly rod, that's
that's entertaining.
Speaker 2 (01:14:43):
One of my favorite things to do.
Speaker 3 (01:14:45):
Yeah, catch them on fly a real light fly rod.
Speaker 4 (01:14:48):
Do you do? I mean, because you do fly fishing
trips too, so do you do? You do? You get
a lot of fly customers?
Speaker 2 (01:14:55):
Yes, but I also don't really advertise for it.
Speaker 5 (01:14:58):
Okay, which that's one venture that I'm thinking about pursuing
advertising for and creating kind of a different brand because
I would really like to push for more fly fishing sitefishing,
like we.
Speaker 3 (01:15:13):
Were talking earlier too. That's that's a one, two or
three fish day and it's a great day.
Speaker 5 (01:15:18):
Yeah, But with how it's been lately, man, I've had
I had some fly guys a couple of weeks ago,
two of them, they booked two days. They probably got
thirty shots each a day. And that's like a dream
come true for fly fishing. Yeah, so it's it's been
a great shallow water bite.
Speaker 4 (01:15:38):
Interesting.
Speaker 5 (01:15:38):
Yeah, mostly redfish, mostly red fish. There's we sightefish, some
snook a couple of days ago.
Speaker 4 (01:15:45):
Ok. Yeah, that's awesome, interesting, very cool. Then what flies
are you throwing at those? What's the fly of choice?
Speaker 2 (01:15:53):
Really?
Speaker 5 (01:15:53):
Anything small that gets down on the bottom, purple, purple
and black has been killer the last year or so.
Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
Looks like a crab then, yeah, it looks like a crab.
Speaker 5 (01:16:04):
They see it real well from far away, a little
little Klauser's work. Well, especially when there's a lot of
glass meadows and stuff. I've been thrown those last few
days too, pretty much anything small, small on the bottom.
Speaker 2 (01:16:19):
But that's a that's a golden rule.
Speaker 5 (01:16:20):
Even when I'm sight fishing a spin, I throw the
smallest little jig I can and they'll eat it.
Speaker 4 (01:16:26):
We gotta get the at and ko out for.
Speaker 2 (01:16:28):
I was thinking about you the other day.
Speaker 4 (01:16:30):
We need to get the at and k o out.
Speaker 3 (01:16:31):
That was the greatest thing about Mosquito Lagoon is they
taught us over there. We had a very good teacher there,
sponsored by Mark Nichols, and using das and actually sitting
on the bow of the boat on a Maverick and
walking it because the water is this deep and just
waiting for a tailing fish to come up and throw
that da past them bringing up and just drop it
(01:16:54):
and you don't jig it, you just move it and
have them crushing fun.
Speaker 4 (01:17:00):
Yeah, it's incredible. That's one of the cool things I
mean think about. You know, we get a call in
from Mike Perry every week from the Keys, you know
with the TV show, you know, with fishing the tournament trails,
like you guys both did a little bit. When you
think about all the cool things you can go do
just in the state of Florida. Yeah, from the fishing standpoint.
Speaker 5 (01:17:21):
I mean, which I haven't even done a lot of it,
you know, And I've never caught a bone fish.
Speaker 2 (01:17:26):
I've never been bone fishing.
Speaker 3 (01:17:27):
I would love it's a torpedo.
Speaker 4 (01:17:30):
Yeah, I would love.
Speaker 2 (01:17:32):
Down there and try and figure it out.
Speaker 4 (01:17:34):
Yeah, I think I say this, and I'm sure a
guide from down there would be like, Oh, it's not
that bad. I've done it once on a guided trip
with a guy who's pretty good at it. There's a
reason you don't see a lot of TV shows filming
bonefish shows and the keys, because it's not easy. We
fished all day for one fish.
Speaker 3 (01:17:52):
A green turtle with the one of the Sarrez brothers.
So the guy that ends me a ugly stick five
it along with a four thousand on it, and I,
you know, I called him an idiot right put his
big old' heavy wheel. Yeah, look an eight pounder. Yeah,
you go all the way down to the bottom of
that school.
Speaker 5 (01:18:13):
I have had guys that say that our Tampa Bay
red fish are harder than harder to catch than a
lot of them.
Speaker 4 (01:18:20):
That could be true.
Speaker 3 (01:18:22):
They were easy to catch the Obamas and it was
on frozen shrimp. You just see him coming because the
water is so clear, and throw it out where you
think and they'll cruise along and smell it and take it.
Speaker 4 (01:18:30):
We had a bite, a good bite in at Zuma
when Beth and I were down there for our twenty
fifth wedding anniversary.
Speaker 3 (01:18:35):
And there pie However fast you think they are, they're fast.
Speaker 4 (01:18:40):
Yeah, they're fast, no doubt. Captain micro gal Bay Native
fishing things. Brother.
Speaker 2 (01:18:44):
Absolutely, I appreciate. He's a blast quick. We're done.
Speaker 4 (01:18:47):
One of the business, one of the best in the business.
I love having your brother. Good to see, good to
have you. Well go Bucks, Bucks back in business today.
So pray for us. Smart, but it's a good thing. Yeah,
pray for us. We're gonna we're gonna try to battle
through one tomorrow, I guess, and see if we can
get it done. It's going to be ugly, but I think.
Speaker 3 (01:19:07):
We're gonna really Wendy, I'm thinking about going to Bass
Pro Shop and.
Speaker 2 (01:19:10):
See if there's something I think about me while you're
in there.
Speaker 4 (01:19:13):
Yeah, good stuff. Jason Barringer, thank you so much. Thank
you to everybody that checked in on the live feed.
We appreciate you. Those that checked in here via the
phone lines. We appreciate you guys. The team of Hony Company,
Real Animals Radio Show. God bless you guys. Have a
great Sunday. We're out.
