Speaker 2 (00:03):
When we love shows as fans, like Tany does Friends
or what's the other one? To raise anatomy, it's easy
to imagine working on one of those sets would be
a dream. Have you ever wondered what being an actor
on Friends was like?

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Every day of my life?

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Who would you be?

Speaker 3 (00:19):
I would be Phoebe?

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Really yeah? Or Monica?

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Oh yeah?

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Okay, let's go with Lisa Kudro famously start as Phoebe
on Friends, she said to Variety, playing Or actually felt
like work.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
I know, she said, Phoebe was so far from who
she was, and it was literal work to understand her
and how to justify everything Phoebe was saying in her head,
so it felt real to her and too the fans
when she delivered the lines.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
And it was.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Actually Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey, who gave her perspective.
But not until season three she was worried that she
was slacking, not doing the work, and he was like, you.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Are her now you don't have to, and she says,
it's still hard to let go. She felt she was
not being a good student and is that called good
student syndrome? Yes? Sure I got over that.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Did you ever happen to begin with?

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Yes, of course I did in a couple of classes.
Sicany by the way, Lisa, you can catch her next
in the long awaited season three. The Comeback is what
it's called HBO.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
That's in spring, that's direct from Hollywood.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
