Speaker 1 (00:00):
Devin Booker is a massive star, massive star, one of
the best basketball players in the country, in the world,
in the history of the game.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
And he doesn't do interviews.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
And there's a story that's getting a lot of publicity
because this girl got an interview with him, a one
on one interview, and she like messaged me for stuff
and she was going to volunteer for Love Pop and
I kind of following her story and it's really cool
because she's gone viral and I thought it'd be cool
we got on her show and talk get her on
our show and talk about what's happened and the process.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Is it Brianna? Is that you say her name or Brianna?
Speaker 3 (00:32):
Brianna, it's Brianna. Yes, it's a little difficult with the spelling,
but it's Brianna.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
So tell us your story, tell us your sports background,
tell us where you're from, and tell us how this
thing happened, because it's a really cool story with you
and Devin Booker.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Yes, thank you.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
So.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
First, I grew up in Michigan pretty much where he
did as well, But a little bit of a backstory.
I just graduated high school this year in twenty twenty
five of May and I didn't get my dad's GYE bill,
which is weird because it over twenty years in the service,
but there was just something and I wasn't able to
get it. So I'm starting at community college and then
I'm going to work my way up to Walter Cronkite
(01:08):
and look for scholarships there. And then, obviously, since I'm
not in university, I have to work a thousand times
harder to get these opportunities because a lot of kids
in universities do. And it's definitely been a journey for me, honestly,
but just staying consistent, being persistent, and then keeping God
in my life has really made these opportunities for me possible.
(01:30):
And along the way, I've actually interviewed a lot of
amazing athletes like Will Hernandez He's from the Cardinals, he's
an offensive lineman, Eric Priest with Golden Boy Promotions. I've
interviewed Matt Barnes, Eddie House, Mike Bibby, coach Ty Ellis
with the Las Vegas Aces. And that's just to name
a few of my athlete interviews. And every one of
(01:50):
those athlete interviews has helped me grow and prepare for
the Devin Booker interview.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Are you reading something? Are you just talking to us?
Speaker 3 (02:00):
I'm just talking.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Oh it sounds like you're reading reading.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Yeah, I've been practicing all morning.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Okay, well good, But let me tell you something, Kyle
on our show, she went to the Walter Cronkhigh School too,
So look at now she's she's like a professional.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
So those are good goals to have. I don't sound
as professional as Bonna, so I'm impressed. But Brianna, so
what is yours like? Do you have a podcast? Like?
What is the story? What'd you do? You started a
sports podcast? You're obviously sports fan.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Yeah, so i just started a Instagram literally a year ago,
and I'm on a podcast on Thanksgiving. They let me
on a podcast. It's called the Pickham Pros, and they
believe in me and I've been a part of it
ever since. So I'm just blessed that they saw something
in me. And ever since then, I've just been doing
amazing and I've been going to all these events and
(02:48):
interviewing all these athletes and it's just a big blessing.
Since twenty twenty one, I think I went to Sun's
games with posters to get his attention and he saw
them a lot, especially one of my posts that I
actually have a photo with with Booker, but I have
my posters, and then I would go to all these games.
(03:08):
I went to like many a month, which was insane.
And then this year, about a few months ago, before
the season started, I was just making videos for Booker,
more posters, and then I made a video recently about
a month ago that went viral. Everyone sent it to
Booker and the Phoenix Suns and a lot of people
(03:30):
helped me get his attention, and like Steve, he's in
Scott Staley works with switch Den and Monte's m podcast,
so everyone was like helping me with that, and all
of a sudden, yes, I.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Feel like I know Monte in the studio.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Oh yeah he's awesome. Yeah I told him my un Okay, okay, yeah,
so yes, So I made that video. It went a
little viral and everyone was sending it and then I
got a phone call randomly from the Phoenix Suns and
(04:09):
I was like hello, like are you serious? Is this true?
Because you know, I've been working so hard for this
moment and I'm only nineteen.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
So it was really cool.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
I got the interview. We planned it, I found out Thursday.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
You get the phone call for the Phoenix Suns. What
do they say?
Speaker 3 (04:28):
They're like, Hey, this is ah Blah with the Phoenix
Suns and we want to call. We're calling you to
get this interview with Booker scheduled. And I'm like yeah,
and that was a month ago Thursday. I found out
that I was doing it on Saturday. Okay, this past Saturday.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
So where'd you go Saturday?
Speaker 3 (04:46):
The performance center Okay in Scottsdale, Okay, their practice center.
And we were in a room and I was not
nervous one bit, which is surprising because that's like the
biggest interview for me, right, that's like the foundation to
my career. And it was amazing. We had a great
connection this whole interview. It was nothing but last smiles,
(05:07):
great conversations. And we're both from Michigan, right, so we
already have that connection and we already know the same thing.
So I think that made it a lot easier and
a lot better. And it's just crazy because he doesn't
do interviews, so it's amazing.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
So where can we watch? Where can we watch?
Speaker 3 (05:24):
The interview will be released this week on YouTube at
the Pickham Pros look at you going.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Is the Pickham pros Is? That is that Monte's podcast.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
No, Monte's podcast is QMO Pickam pros Is. They're based
in North Carolina, so they're who I started with originally.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Wow, that's great, good for you. I under them.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Nice job. So how was Devid? Was he cool?
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Did you talk to him for a half hour five minutes?
How long was the interview?
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (05:54):
About half hour and the nicest person ever. Yeah, that's great,
He's amazing.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
We're not worried about you. You're gonna do big things
like you You will not be stopped. You can hear
it in her voice.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Right, has already paid off for you.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
Yeah, I mean, don't lose that fire. I mean, you
keep that your whole life, and you'll keep on moving up.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
So your goal now is to get a scholarship to
a s U to the Walter Cronkeyed School.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Yes, and now I need to find another person to
get the interview from.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
What is your next goal?
Speaker 3 (06:27):
I mean, I've met John Brooks twice. Now I think
that would be a really cool one.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
That that would be cool. He's very nice. But the
thing is, though, I mean, you hit the kind of
the pinnacle here like that's like the biggest interview, Like, yeah,
I don't know the Cardinals. Way, you gotta go, you got,
you gotta go to cristialbo Ronaldo. Yeah you got. You're
(06:53):
pretty much max out. Yeah, those would be, but you
gotta let the you gotta let those are all and
I bet you those will all come if you want them.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Those.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Yes, But as far as you need to start your
own podcast where you have you all the goats of
each sport. So you do like Christiana Rinaldo, then you
do like Riger Federer.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Where did you go to high school?
Speaker 3 (07:15):
I went to Hickley High School in the East Valley.
Speaker 4 (07:18):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Well, right on, okay, so do your parents know what
you did? They must be very proud.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
Yeah, in high school. Actually, there's a competition called JEA
and I. It's like a journalism convention championship. And two
years in a row, I made a video on sport
related to my school. I filmed, edit it everything, and
I went back to that first place.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
That's awesome.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Well, congratulations, let us know when the podcast drops and
we will help you promote it.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
Oh awesome, that'd be awesome. Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
You gotta brand We'll have a great day.
Speaker 1 (07:51):

put the word out, you want Larry Fitzgerald, you wing,
Charles Barkley?
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Who else? Yeah, anybody else you can think of sports?
Speaker 4 (07:59):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
I think those two are the major ones. Charles Barkley.
My mom's the biggest fan. She would just flip out.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
It'd be a good one for you too, since she lives.
Here's Danika Patrick. You do the race world too, that'd
be kind of cool.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Oh yeah, man, there's so many options.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Are you still going to go to Suns games? Or
are you kind of like I got Booker, I'm done?
Are you Are you a Suns fan?
Speaker 3 (08:19):
No, I'm a Suns fan.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Okay, all right.
Speaker 3 (08:21):

first against the Timberwolves because that one will be really good.
