Speaker 1 (00:00):
Holding, Hey, no problem, what's going on? Okay?

Speaker 2 (00:04):
So I just need to know if this is breakupworthy
or if I'm being dramatic, because I just feel kind
of gross. So I was scrolling through my boyfriend's phone
the other night, not even snooping for jerk. I was
literally just bored and reading old messages for entertainment, and
I came across some DMS from when we first started dating.

(00:27):
And I don't even how to say this. It's like,
basically he's sending my sister's Instagram pictures to his friends
saying how hot she was, like my sister and his
friend was hyping it up. Like I know, I know
what wasn't recent, it was from early on, but now

(00:48):
I can't unsee it. And I just I feel weird
and embarrassed and definitely like picked out being around him
and especially here and my sister together. Like I didn't
confront him to you know, I don't want him to
know I'm like going through his phone. I don't need
to think that I was like snooping, But also because
it's old and I don't want to create like family awkwardness.

(01:08):
But I can't shape this. Just like very gross feeling
and am I valid for being bothered? Or do I
just have to swallow this and move on?

Speaker 1 (01:17):
That would bother me.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
So was that like when you guys like were in
the talking stage and he's like, oh, yeah, this is
the girl I'm dating and this is our super hot sister,
Like how did he find.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Your sister's profile? Was he trying to go for her first?

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Like I don't think he's trying to go for her,
Like we were definitely dating, Like it's not like we
were just talking stages, but.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
I'm seeing Kyle Furrow.

Speaker 5 (01:42):
That would just bother me, Like how I could never
be in the same room with him without going, oh,
he thinks she's older than me, Like you would automatically
compare yourself even though he wasn't in those text messages,
that's where you're or at least my brain would go
to a complete insecurity Why.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Hotter than you? Why not as hot as did she?

Speaker 5 (02:00):
They're just saying, That's where my brain would go. It
would go straight into insecurity mode, Like why would he
be sending that unless he was trying to hook your
sister up with one of his friends, And I think
that'd be the only out that would make sense.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
There's one more, and that's that guys among ourselves are
kind of disgusting, and then we would never be that
way anywhere else besides in our little friend group where
we say things that nobody else should ever hear and
you shouldn't even think inside your head.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
Yeah, but that doesn't change how Valerie feels.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
I know I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
If it were that he was saying, oh, here's her
hot sister, maybe you should date her, then I could
be like, Okay, he was trying to hook the sister up,
I could maybe get past that.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
But if it's like, oh, the girl I'm dating her
sister is a smoke show, you know, just because just because.

Speaker 6 (02:45):
Yeah, but it's the very beginning of the relationship. Now,
like how long you guys been together?

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Now, Valerie was been together like two years now, two.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Years, so like he probably knows her. It doesn't even lie.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
Okay, So now what I do is I go, what
were they like together when we were all together for Thanksgiving?

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Was there weird vibe? Like now my wheels are I'm
looking at these two sisters. I don't know which one
would go with. They're both hot. Let me see how
the relationship works out. And he goes, man, I ended
up with Valerie. She's amazing. She's way more attractive, she's smarter,
she's everything.

Speaker 6 (03:12):
But it's it's two years later, like to go back
and go, oh, yeah, she thought she was hot. I see,
I can't relate this because I find my wife's sister's
all unattractive.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
I feel like you do have a point, though, Jay,
like you had said, like now, he hasn't been together
for two years, there's probably been times that he has
been around her sister and she he probably is like
you gross.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Gross, like I get her over. I hate the TV
show she watches. I hate this. She did the comment
maybe clean to make common the reality of its.

Speaker 6 (03:42):
Surface in the beginning. On the surface, you're like, wow,
I don't wonder which one I'm gonna go for. I
met this one girl. She and her sister's hot. Wow,
which one? You just you kind of waking this part.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
Of you that would think the opposite, though you wouldn't
have follow your comes valory sister again, she's so hot?
Did I end up with the wrong sister? You like,
you don't know what's going through his mind?

Speaker 4 (04:00):
No, but I mean if he's good now, yeah, you
just soaping up a cannon.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
We're going in circles.

Speaker 6 (04:06):
I know it's a weird about So there you go.
That's that's our thought. You're listen, we're just glad we're
not in your situation.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
I think you should probably talk to him about it.
I would, just so you get it off.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
You're like, you're conscious in your chest. And if he's like, yeah,
that was weird and gross, just get over God.

Speaker 6 (04:20):
He'll be like, yeah, I thought, what both you were hot.
Now we're going to get in circles again.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
Okay, make sure he text about how hot his brother
is from you.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Thanks Valerie, thanks for calling in.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Thank you, they say the Holy

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
