Debate: Is It OK to Ask a Stranger to Watch Your Luggage While You Pee?

A TikToker has sparked a great debate online and now Tanya here in the studio. Is it OK to ask a stranger/fellow passenger at the airport to watch your luggage for you while you use the restroom really quick?

Mom listens to us in the morning while she takes
her walks in Atlanta. She was texting me like during
the show, comments but random, like you know, we talk
about something. And she's like, that's right, what are you
talking about? She was, that's funny. I'm like, what, Oh,
listen to you guys. I know it's part.

My sister does that a lot too, like no context.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Yeah, and then I'll get it like sometimes I'll see
you like an hour half later and no idea.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
And by the way, I don't remember what we talked
about anyway. Yeah, So listen to this. Tell me where

So there's a woman that posted this on TikTok. It
inspired a huge debate. Her name's Cara, Cara. Call her Kara, Caakara, Karra.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
What do you like?

I would have said, Carra, Kara, Fine, let's call her Kara.
I don't know her. But she was waiting to board
at the Tampa Airport a plane, and she asked a woman,
another passenger there at the airport, sitting near her, if
she would watch her carry on while she went to
the bathroom so that alone I would not do I
don't know who's the person to all the time a stranger?

Yeah, I don't want you to watch someone.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Are you allowed to even watch someone's bag? What if
it's a bag with something bad?

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Exactly my carry on into the Then what if they
don't come back?

I'm like, now you need to leave.

What if it's got something bad in it? Yeah, and
you're watching the bag, then you've been set up.

I assessed the situation, and I trust that my TSA
has protected me.

car he's watched? Yeah, you should watch that movie. Did
you really learn a lot Netflix security safety? I started

I couldn't be so cute. I couldn't watch him. Like
he's so charming and cute.

It's like, is that a guy thing? Like when guys
are so good looking and charming, I can't watch the
whole thing. Really, it's very fast.

Anyway, back to the story, Okay, so the woman said,
the stranger said, no, you got to take your bag
with you. I can't watch your bag and the bathroom
just a few steps away. She didn't take the bag.
But people are all up in arms about this, saying, well,
was the woman's so rude? Yeah, and others are saying, well,
you don't leave your carry on bag with a stranger.
I don't think the airport lets you do that, wants
you to do that unless you know the person, or
unless you know what's in the bag, because don't they

ask you did you pack your bag? Said they been
with you the whole time, like it doesn't seem like
it's safe.

To just it's nice. It's nice, and then you don't know.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
If that person that was quote watching your bag put
something in your bag, and you.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Know, it's just keep your bags to yourself.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
But everyone was all on different sides of this. I
think it's your bag, you gotta take it away.

You look, it's just like here Tongya doesn't see an
issue with it where you and I are like, hey,
don't want.

To roll my bag into the bathroom.

I don't have to, Like I already have to wet
ones wipe all my luggage when I get home.

Anyway, But do you go to a stranger to watch
your bag? Yeah, sir, I usually ask a woman. I
never I have never asked a guy. Actually, why is
that interesting? Very we're not trustworthy.

I don't know.

It's just like a natural instinct.

So you it's just okay, you're afraid to leave it
with a guy, but not afraid to leave it with
the strangers.

You feel like it's kind of not nice to make
someone watch your bag.

It's not okay, it's not you. I'm not gonna go
pick up a sandwich, get a coffee.

Why I I think if I work at the airport,
I'm telling you it's not safe. You don't know the person,
you don't know.

What's in there. If somebody asked me, I'd be very annoyed.
I'd be like, oh, but you would say yes, and
I would be very annoyed because then I'm like, when
