Being an artist is an attempt to connect the souls
of people all over the world. Being an artist is
a discipline, a craft meant for reaching into someone's heart
where it grows its roots and reminding them to dream.
Being an artist is a responsibility to make the audience smile, dance, cry,
(43:15):
release at any turn.
Speaker 5 (43:17):
I loved it. It gave me chills, and it just
goes to share like she's like, this is my job,
Like it is my job to be your artist.
Speaker 3 (43:24):
And so to me, you know, first of all, to
write a hit song is remarkable and it's a miracle,
right you have staying power and reinvention power and continue
to do it and elevate, and to me, it is
just it's a magic power. It is something that is
a magic power. She's done this a long time. Yes,
(43:46):
she has continues to be on top and I've done
movies and everything else.
Speaker 5 (43:50):
And has new generations of fans. That's the crazy part
to me that like my seven year old twins know
who Lady Gaga is and know her music rah rah ye.
And you know why because Bad Romance is in sing two,
you know, like it's in their movies that they watch.
And so it's so smart. Ricky Martin that we were
talking about him earlier. I mean, he is a Latin
(44:12):
icon and that's the award that he won. He hit
the stage, it was fire.
Speaker 2 (44:15):
It was just.
Speaker 5 (44:16):
Bringing us all right back to like those songs from
the past and busted rhymes. Like we said, it was crazy.
Best New Artist went to Alex Warren. Now, they did
a lot of awards before the show, which I think
that's what gave it so much space to have a
lot of performances instead. And it was the pre show
he was doing an interview when they told him. He
was completely shocked. So this guy thinks he's just going
(44:37):
up to do his interview and then they go by
the way, he just won Best New Artists. He couldn't
even speak it was so genuine, it was so raw
and real and it was just so it really made
me see like the type of person that he is.
And so big congratulations to Alex Warren. And then Sabrina
Carpenter gave us tears. We have never seen it. She
performed it for the first time. Here's a little taste.

You know, she's a she's another magical artist, Like she's
not starting off, but she's still you know, new ish.
Speaker 2 (45:23):
I mean, you know, I know.

What you mean is she made she made a point
to bring that up in her speech because she was like, yeah,
she's like, whether you guys have been with me for
these like birth, these two albums or the past twenty.

Seven she's been around for a long time. But she's
got that magic that Gaga has. She's got that magic
of staying power, and she knows how to write and
come up with and perform smash it. So MTV VMAs
did not disappoint.
Speaker 5 (45:44):
They did not disappoint. And I really I gotta say,
Sabrina Carpenter with the rain at the VMA's that was
like so in my opinion iconic. I feel like that's
one of those moments are gonna like flash back to
because it was just giving me like Brittany vibes. It
was giving me Christina Aguilera vibes like I don't know.

It was really cool, good stuff, good news, something good
