(00:25):
Martin Luther King. So we join you on this Monday.
It's January twentieth. I I'm with you when you say
let's have this day of observance and it is a
holiday for many you need it, probably a little space.
But let's also get to February.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Sure, Why do you want to get to February?
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Because January is what's the word heavy?
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Heavy?
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yeah, January is no good. I want to get to February.
You know you want to get through this. You know
you want to you do want to turn the page.
So I'm looking at the forecast as we get going
here in this what third week of all of it?
Partly Sunday today and still cool. High's in the mid sixties,
where you're gonna pay your bills this morning. You know,
(01:09):
if you have any place in LA and southern California
for listening if you've got something you want us to
step in and help out with, we will do it.
Just need to know your name, So give me your
name at kissmm dot com. This dude from Outer Banks.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
That's a good show.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Doakes is coming on. He's got a new movie he's
called Marked Men, Rule and Show where he plays a
tattoo artist. Okay, so I gotta ask him about his name.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
And maybe he can give you a tattoo.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
No, he's playing the role of one. He's not actually
a tattoo artist.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Ye'd be dangerous.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
He probably learned how to do it.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
No, you think Iron Man will give me a flight?
Speaker 4 (01:45):
No, but like when you're playing a tattoo artist, I'm
sure he you know, like these actors shadow and study and.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
You think he'd actually do I think.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
He could actually give a tattoo.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Maybe let's ask him about that. Anyway's got his new
movie coming out this week, Marked Men Ruling Shaw and
he plays tattoo artists and we'll get into that. Chase
Stokes is that his real name. And people love Out
of Banks, don't they. I haven't seen the latest season.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Oh I watched it. It was so good, like Edge
of Your Couch, like you can't stop because every episode
is a cliffhanger.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Really, I watched the first season. What are they all
know their.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Own season four already?
Speaker 5 (02:19):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Because they split their seasons.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
I was like, no, they get part one, part two.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
They do part one part two. Yes.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
And now, as you wake up and your alarm goes off,
maybe you hit snooze, maybe you just go for it.
How is your Monday going to shape up? Based on
your star sign? And how much weight do you put
into this? Here, at this place, seventy five percent of
us really believe in it, And here's that seventy five percent.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Of them aries.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Sometimes the sun is hiding in the clouds, but it
doesn't mean it's gone forever.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Tauris, Think bigger and you'll get better.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Gemini, don't mess with people's emotions.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Answer, Remember to stay present to stop anxiety.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
A different path will do you wonders.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Virgo, it's five o'clock somewhere, no judgment.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Libra.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Do something out of your routine.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Today, Scorpio. Don't focus on what you can't get done
today and instead on what you.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Can Sagittarius, take it one step at a time.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Capricorn, step up to the task at hand, you will
be surprised at the fulfillment.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
Aquarius, you'll need to wear many hats today.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
And Pisces a smooth sea never made a skill for sailor.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
All right, there you go, So take a look at
that and tell me if that fits for you today.
Good luck with it. We're just getting started. Let's get
off on the right foot this morning. So the new
year has really started off in a strange way for
so many people. And you get into this time of
year and it's just been an anomaly with these fires
and the craziness that's happened in something California and seen
(03:48):
it on the news, But if you're listening and streaming
across the country, if you've never been here before, it's
it's something else. But Sisney was just telling us that
what was your So we all kind of came into
the new year with hope, been thinking things are going
to be going a different direction.
Speaker 6 (04:03):
Right.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
They clearly started off in a challenging way here in
la and a lot of people have fallen off their
resolution plan.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
They oh non existent at this point.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
For me, I mean, good luck with dry January.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Good luck I definitely did not happen for me.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
I'm in dry January right now. I haven't drank one
sip of alcohol this month?
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Is that right?
Speaker 7 (04:21):
Like?
Speaker 4 (04:21):
No, I wasn't trying to do dry January. It's just
like happening for me.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Good, I know.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
So maybe if you don't try something, then it'll just
naturally happen.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Are you going to go the whole month?
Speaker 4 (04:33):
I'm far away, yeah, but maybe all right?
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Well, Sistney, what was your resolution?
Speaker 1 (04:44):
I mean I was just trying to be like, okay,
let's just kind of like have a goal, you know.
And I sometimes rely on food delivery services, you know,
because I get home and I'm tired, and I'm like, oh,
I forget it, We'll just order food. And really what
I need to do is just like get in the
kitchen and just cook something and be done with it.
(05:04):
So I started out very good for a few days,
and then we eventually ordered food last week.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
So you were trying to get in and make the
meal yourself, yeah, and be that person. But that's see
I was talking about this before the end of the year, Sysney.
We need resolutions that are actually attainable, I know, and
they don't need to be so rigid, like you're never
gonna just only do that. You need the optionality with
your schedule, with work and with the family. Need the
optionality because this adds too much pressure and stressed to you.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
It does, and then you have all these opinions, like
the kids like I want burgers tonight, we don't have
stuff to make burgers.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Well, they need to not have opinions so much. Well,
they need to deal with what they're going to get
on their plate, which is how we were raised exactly.
I didn't get to ask my mom, tell my mom
what we wanted. She put broccoli on my plate.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
I know they get broccoli. Don't worry. My kids all
eat their vegetables. But it's like every now and then.
And then I came too because I was like, well,
I'm telling easier for you.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
But the thing is, I mean, you need to set
actually attainable, not rigid, not complete goals or resolutions, because
if you're gonna if it's if it's all or nothing,
it's never that's never gonna work.
Speaker 5 (06:12):
I know.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
So you'd be like two times a month.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Something like that, Well that's not gonna work either. Let's
say two times a week.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
I don't even think you're worried that much.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
But you know, part of your piece is convenience, and
if you need it, that's good for you.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Gosh, that's what you know COVID taught us, is the convenience.
It's just like having all these things delivered to you.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
But don't beat yourself up over it.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
I'm fine.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
So I was reading this study here. They analyzed over
two hundred million emails to see when people are most
likely to actually read them, and they say, if you
want your email to be read, then put it in
your queue, like save it and then send it at
eleven eleven am. Eleven am people are most likely to
read their mail shortly before lunch after after lunch distraction.
(07:01):
They've got to get taked on by the end of
the day. In the morning, you're just getting started. Eleven
am is the time to send an email if it's
day of and you want to response that.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Day interesting, okay, yeah, yeah, that's.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
A good time for us because we're free. Today's quote
just because someone carries it well doesn't mean it isn't heavy.
That's so powerful. This FM headlines with siciny well.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
The National Weather Service has issued another particularly dangerous situation
warning in anticipation of today's Santa Ana wins. The warning
remains in place until ten am tomorrow. TikTok is Back.
The app began restoring service to users in the US
following a temporary shutdown that lasted less than a day.
Governor Gavin Yousi issued an executive order prohibiting landlords from
(07:44):
evicting tenants for sheltering survivors of the LA buyers and
schools in Malibu are expected to reopen this week. The
goal is to get all students back in class tomorrow
on air with Ryan Secret.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
So let me take you back. Here is somebody that
we really loved on the show. Meg, actually both of
Meg and Mia. Meg is on the line. That's Mom
and Corona and Sisney Tana. You'll remember them. They were
on back a few years ago. Mia had been in
and out of children's hospitals since birth. She has lupus,
she has juvenile rheumatoid arthritis among other things. But nothing,
(08:21):
nothing could bring her spirit down. I mean, she was
just truly a bright light. Here is some of our
early conversations with her. Hi, Oh, I was just talking
about you.
Speaker 8 (08:30):
Hi, I love your guys show.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Oh Mia, you have such good taste. Thank you. I've
been listening to it for a while.
Speaker 9 (08:40):
I love you, guys.
Speaker 6 (08:42):
I hope you guys do more sometimes, can you guys
maybe call me back?
Speaker 8 (08:46):
Maybe sometimes?
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Yeah, when she would call you back, you're going to
call you. You're going to call you, like a few days. Sure, Okay,
you could call me on the weekend. So she was
eight back then, and I remember she's telling us she
loved to raw. So we sent us some art supplies
and she sent us back the most amazing beautiful picture,
like a sketch of our Da Grande. Yeah, now twelve
(09:09):
and Meg, her mom is on the line. Just wanted
to give us a little update and how she is doing. Hi, Meg,
thanks for coming back to us. How are you great?
Speaker 8 (09:18):
How are you?
Speaker 10 (09:19):
Thanks for having me back?
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Of course, I know the little one is in school
right now. But how's she doing?
Speaker 10 (09:25):
She is, you know, she's doing fantastic. And before you know,
I get in trouble by her. She did, she did
tell me please tell Ryan, I said hello, So, but yeah,
she's you know, we've we've had some changes, good, bad
and ugly, but we are pushing through them to make
you know, to make it easy. Epileptic seeders have subsided.
(09:49):
We actually have a spelle Marrallos stem cell transplant scheduled
for February fifth.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
Okay, how long have you been waiting for that?
Speaker 10 (09:58):
You know, we actually just got back over the weekkend
and by the grace of God, we're actually able to
get in as soon as Febrary fifth.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
So by having that the bone marrow and stem cell transplant,
what will that do for her?
Speaker 8 (10:12):
I mean a lot?
Speaker 10 (10:14):
Hopefully it will you know, ease ease our issues with
T one, T two, T three, L.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Four, and L five.
Speaker 10 (10:22):
But according to her doctor, we are taking a more
aggressive approach because her hips are now affected. So basically
in a twelve year old body, she is walking and
moving like she's eighty five, if that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Wow.
Speaker 10 (10:37):
So very slow moving. Even this morning to get up
for school. It was very slow moving, no difference than like,
you know, trying to help an elderly person up out
of bed. That's how our mornings go sometimes.
Speaker 6 (10:50):
And then sometimes she springs.
Speaker 5 (10:52):
Up like a little jack rabbit.
Speaker 10 (10:53):
And I'm not sure how she does it, but this
morning was was the.
Speaker 8 (10:57):
Rough of the morning.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
A good spirit. I mean from the conversations that we
have had, she does.
Speaker 10 (11:04):
And you know, I will say I believe art has
always been her crutch and her outlook. And you know,
my husband and I cannot feed more art supplies to her,
if you will, because that's her escape, you know, from
from hospital walls and doctor visits and you know, what
have you. But she actually has also picked up a
(11:24):
new obsession of acoustic guitar for the last.
Speaker 8 (11:27):
Year or so.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Oh cool.
Speaker 10 (11:28):
Yeah, and she literally just you know, jams to Teddy
Swims or posts Malone and you know, she just kind
of does her thing and zones out. And I mean
there's there's never been a secret. You know, We've always
been an open book with her, whether you know, she
has a question, whether it's a good question or a
bad question.
Speaker 8 (11:46):
You know.
Speaker 10 (11:47):
For example, she looked for our doctor straight in the
face on Thursday and said, how much longer do I
have to.
Speaker 8 (11:52):
Go through this?
Speaker 10 (11:54):
And absolutely and he said, yeah, I wish I had
a genuine answer for you, but fortunately, sweetheart, I don't.
So but art and music has been her escape lately,
and you know we see a lot more of it
now that she's twelve and you know, becoming her own
little person.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
Yeah, well, I'm looking at this picture she sent us
of our Ina Grande. She's really good at art.
Speaker 8 (12:18):
Yeah, oh yeah, and her Billie Eilish one and you
know she's actually she's improving, like she's so talented and
just blows us away on some of the stuff that
she creates and comes up with.
Speaker 10 (12:30):
And you know, she has John clost Alone. She you know,
she kind of just does her own characters and she
just whatever comes to mind.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
She just does it.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
I just wanted to maybe have something for her when
she gets home from school. Has she seen Wicked yet?
Speaker 7 (12:45):
She has not?
Speaker 5 (12:47):
She has not, and.
Speaker 10 (12:50):
I mean she'd be down. Yeah, she does love Mariana Grande.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
I don't know if she well, she could just say
that we spoke and I'm sorry I miss her, but
we sent over some special tickets to go see Wicked.
Speaker 8 (13:02):
That's appreciated.
Speaker 10 (13:03):
She'd love it.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
All right, Well we'll do that, Yes, stay close, keep
in touch. Which children's hospital are you using?
Speaker 5 (13:10):
We go out of Vegas.
Speaker 10 (13:11):
Actually that was the stonest that we were able to
get into. You know, we we frequent chalk as you know,
more often that I would like to, as well as
Rady San Diego more often than I would like to.
But you know, we were actually able to get in
sooner in Vegas and we were excuse me, sooner out
in Vegas than we were out here.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
You know, just just got to do what you got
to do. Yeah, being in different pediatric hospitals around the
country over the years. Uh, it's a family thing. It's
not just something that she's going through. You're all going
through it. So you keeping your spirits up too. We
are here for anything else we can do, and I
know you're going through it.
Speaker 5 (13:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (13:49):
Well it's you know, it's hard, and you know you
can't let your kids see your emotions, and my husband
and I we have to. Yeah, you know we you
know obviously talked behind closed doors without her, you know,
seeing our em and you know it's rough on everyone.
You know, her little brother is her number one fan.
You know, he's the biggest supporter. He's you know, they're
they're the best of friends.
Speaker 5 (14:09):
So it's it's been good.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Well, I'm glad you all have other and thank you
for coming back to us. Let me put you on
hold and get these tickets so you can get her
to see Wicked.
Speaker 10 (14:16):
Okay, awesome, she's loved that.
Speaker 5 (14:18):
Thanks again.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
You take care, but give her a big hug from us,
I will for sure. Okay, Meg, thank you. You know,
last time we spoke to me, I think she had
a four point eighth GPA.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
Incredible.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
I mean, she's just an incredible young human being. All right.
I just I love that Meg reached back out to
check in and.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
The strength as a mother you have too. It's like
that is when when she was saying, you have to
have our conversation to have closed doors, that's where we let.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Our emotion down. You shut the door. Oh wow, I'm
glad she's getting that treatment, those treatments right away. All right.
We've been talking about him for years and now he's
joining us this morning. I'm Chase Stokes, who's in an
new movie also from Outer Banks, joining us right now.
Look at that there he is as promised. How are you, bro?
Speaker 9 (15:07):
How you guys?
Speaker 7 (15:07):
Do it?
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Good to have you on with us.
Speaker 9 (15:10):
Thanks for having me man, of course.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Okay, So we have a lot of things. You know,
you're a constant topic of conversation around here.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
Good things.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
Okay. Thank God, I see myself and I look in
the mirror when I see you and I see me,
you know, it's thank God, Yes, it's remarkable. I say,
I want to be Chase Stokes on a daily Is
that your real name?
Speaker 5 (15:32):
It is?
Speaker 9 (15:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Wow, what a blessing.
Speaker 9 (15:36):
Thanks Mom and Dad. I guess well, the story behind
it is my first name, I'm James, but I've never
been called James James. I think the way the story
goes was also like the next boyfriend. So my dad
was like, I'm not going to do that. We're just
gonna go with Chase. So it was always fun in
high school being like, no, I'm not James, I'm Chase.
Speaker 7 (15:56):
Chase.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
Well, I mean it is the kind of perfect your name,
isn't it.
Speaker 9 (16:01):
I'll take the job.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Yeah, I mean it really is. Well, you do such
great work. We've been watching you over the seasons of
Outer Banks. I mean Tanya and Sisney would say the
word obsessed about it.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Well, it's one of those shows where you can't just
watch an episode and then go go back to it
in a week like you binge it, because every episode
is like a cliffhanger. So thank you for that.
Speaker 7 (16:24):
You're welcome.
Speaker 9 (16:24):
Yeah, I've heard often like thank you for my sleep deprivation.
Lass Factories a little bit partially responsible for a lot
of lack of sleep.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
But you know, it is interesting how the human body works.
Like you get to the end of the episode and
as it's getting ready to wind down, you tell yourself,
this is it. I have to stop. I have to
go to bed, And then somehow you cannot discipline yourself
enough to stop watching it.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
You can't.
Speaker 9 (16:48):
Yep, Yeah, I get it. I'm watching Dexter right now
and I'm navigating that myself.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (16:55):
Right, It's three o'clock in the morning and I'm still
watching the show.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
Turn it off, Chase, Well, congratulations on Mark Man. Ruling
Shaw is in theaters Wednesday. You can check that out.
And you're playing a tattoo artist, Tidy. It seems to
think you've learned the skill for real. Is that the case?
Speaker 9 (17:17):
No, Actually a story about this film. We we did
tattoo training and one of my cast members gladly sacrificed
his body to h offer up some skin the tattoo,
and I butchered it so bad, so terribly bad, like
just doing a straight line, not not in my wheelhouse.
So he has a very lobsided sea turtle.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
On the side.
Speaker 6 (17:42):
I feel like.
Speaker 9 (17:43):
It's my responsibility to now offer him a cover up.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
What do you cover How do you cover up a
seat turtle? Yeah? How do you cover up a seat turtle?
What are the go tos?
Speaker 9 (17:53):
I don't I don't know where it came from. I
just said, all right, I'll do it. So now he
has a very lobbed sea turtle on us.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
It's a isn't it dangerous to do that to somebody
not knowing how to do that?
Speaker 10 (18:08):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (18:08):
Right?
Speaker 9 (18:14):
Well, fortunately for us it was a part of the training.
And Nick Cassavettis, who directed this, he's covered in tattoos,
had to toe and he wanted to really authenticate it.
So we found a very traditional style tattoo shop in
Bulgaria where we shot the movie, and they graciously allowed
us another shop and showed us how to prepare the
tattoo guns and how to operate them. And it was
(18:36):
a process to it, but unfortunately I just I couldn't
figure it out.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Or you're a you're a good actor, obviously, you get
a lot of things thrown your way and you get
to choose what you want to do in these times.
What was it about this movie that struck you?
Speaker 9 (18:52):
You know, first and foremost it was Nick. I'm such
a fan of him as an artist and he is
like a real true storyteller. But I think just really
diving into U a guy that is not willing to
forgive himself, I think that's something that feels pretty universally relatable.
And meeting somebody who sees you despite the flaws and
(19:15):
the highs and mose that you bring to the table,
not wanting to change you, but help you accept yourself
with all of those things, and and sort of instead
of change, help adjust. And it felt really real, It
felt really fresh, and you know, you can't really turn
down an opportunity to work with with the guy who
did the Notebook.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
Yeah, I mean it's like every We've obviously seen that
a million times and it gets to me every it
could tingly knows every single time I watched that movie.
Speaker 9 (19:41):
He's a legends cutting onions in the kitchen.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Yeah, he's He's a legend. Marks, Manton rules and Shaw
is in theaters this week. What when you're not working?
What do you like to do?
Speaker 7 (19:54):
Like?
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Are you do you like to travel? To you cook?
Speaker 5 (19:57):
Like?
Speaker 2 (19:57):
What is what is your vibe? I?
Speaker 9 (20:01):
Truthfully, I like to do as little as possible on
a big couch surfer Like I just love to be home.
I've got two dogs and my girlfriend and I you know,
we just really have prior to getting into like this
press round and she's about to go on the road.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Kelsey, it's been the big.
Speaker 9 (20:17):
Thing for us to just be present and be still
so spending time with family and getting more time with
my mom and my siblings and her side of our
family as well. So I think, honestly, like I've really
enjoyed kind of finding that balance.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Do you guys have to I mean, Kelsey's Ballerini, the
artists we're talking about, do you have to like plan
ahead six months to figure out your schedules. There's got
to be like something differently.
Speaker 9 (20:40):
To have like a planner in our lives.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 9 (20:43):
Yeah, we sit down and say, okay, here's here's the
next you know, chunk of time. You know, but we
we really just focus on like, okay, let's sit down
every week and figure out what we have coming, what
time we have available, if we're in the workflow, like
how do we get to one another wherever that is.
So it's it's definitely a little bit unconventional with our
career choices, but you know, we find a way to
(21:05):
make it.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
Happen Chase Stokes with us. Great to have you on, man,
thanks so much for making the time. Good luck with
this movie and we'll hopefully talk to you soon.
Speaker 9 (21:12):
Awesome, thanks for having me U.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
God, his hair is good, so good. It's really good
product you. I didn't realize he could hear me. What
product do you use?
Speaker 9 (21:23):
Honestly, it's called days of dirt?
Speaker 2 (21:25):
Okay, thank you stocking stuff for days of Take it care.
I got to see you later.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
Bye.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
All right, it's time for Ryan's roses on Kiss FM.
Let me get to it now, Kayla and Northridge, Dear Ryan,
Sisany and Tanya. My husband's company is moving offices. So
he came home the other day with a box full
of stuff from his desk. I was so curious. I
started to look through it a bit, and I found
a purple post it note and that here is the issue.
That's so Cayla found the purple post it note? What
(21:56):
what was on the purple post it note that you saw?
Speaker 10 (22:00):
So?
Speaker 5 (22:01):
It was a note with the girl's handwriting, and it
said like thinking about you with a little detailed heart.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
So it was a note from a woman at work
to him thinking of you, and a cupid heart right,
like the era going through the heart? Yeah, and did
you take it? Did you leave it? What did you
do when you saw it?
Speaker 5 (22:25):
I took a photo and then I just put it
back in the box.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
And did you address this with your husband?
Speaker 5 (22:33):
Yeah? I tried, but he he's a good liar.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
He's a good liar.
Speaker 5 (22:42):
He manipulated like he's better at arguing than I am.
So it's just hard to confront him.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
So do you what did you believe is going on?
Speaker 5 (22:52):
Well, I don't know, and I will say that we've
only had a little bit of issues over the years,
but involving stuff on the internet, like you know, like
adult websites and like live chats on the adult websites,
but just on the internet. So here's ago. I found
some like awful, gross stuff in this web history and
(23:14):
he lied about it. He was like, oh, I clicked
on a bad link, all those windows open, that's why
there were dozens of these sites. And he eventually came
clean about it. But he sertainly doesn't have a problem
and he doesn't need therapy. But I think he just
got better about covering his tracks. Like everything is history. Now,
this is the first time i've ever found anything like
in person, but we have had some trust issues.
Speaker 7 (23:38):
I guess I'm.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
There's a purple posted note it was in his stuff
from a woman at work that says thinking of you
with a heart and an arrow through it. You'd only
say thinking of you. I don't know. I mean I've
been saying thinking of you a lot in the last
couple of weeks.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
Yes, yes, and if someone's sick or has someone sick,
thinking family, thinking of you as inappropriate.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
But what's the heart with the arrow through it?
Speaker 1 (24:06):
That's that adds a little bit more spy.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
That's a little bit more and an arrow through it.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
That's more love than Stupid's.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Arrow is love, isn't it?
Speaker 10 (24:13):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Yeah, I mean heart, Did you draw back your boat? Yes,
she just drew back her boat. Shot it, Cupid, draw
back your boat.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
And let your arrow flow back to love us.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
I'm thinking, all right, that's the extent of our performance
this morning. So Kayla here, we're gonna call your husband
and see what's going on with this note and who
he's thinking about, Like, who does he want to send
the flowers to? Do you know the name of the
woman at work?
Speaker 5 (24:45):
No, it just looks like a woman's skin writing there
were no names on it.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
I need you to say, Ryan, you my permission to call,
and then his name on Kiss FM.
Speaker 5 (24:52):
Go ahead, Brian, you have my permission to call.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
We're gonna do that right now. Be very cool. Why
let's see we can find out is he going to
send the roses to you? Or is there another woman?
Top of mind? Good luck?
Speaker 5 (25:06):
Okay?
Speaker 7 (25:07):
See Hello?
Speaker 5 (25:20):
Hi?
Speaker 1 (25:20):
Is this Fernando?
Speaker 10 (25:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (25:24):
Who's this?
Speaker 8 (25:24):
Hi?
Speaker 1 (25:25):
My name is Heather. I'm calling from Flowers on Nordoff.
How are you doing this morning?
Speaker 9 (25:29):
I'm fine?
Speaker 6 (25:30):
Great?
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Great. You know, we deliver all over Northridge and surrounding
areas here in LA and we're offering a free promotion.
It's a free dozen red roses that you can send
to anybody that you'd like. They are free, free, free, free.
I don't need cash, I don't need your credit card,
infote or anything like that.
Speaker 7 (25:47):
Why did I win something?
Speaker 1 (25:49):
We do this promotion about once a month and select
people at random. So yes, technically you can send these
flowers to anybody that you'd like. You can just need
We can start with the name of the person in
a note. They are free, okay, all right, free.
Speaker 7 (26:05):
And using the name of first.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Okay, who do you want to send them to?
Speaker 7 (26:08):
Interesting? What was your name again?
Speaker 1 (26:13):
My name is Heather.
Speaker 7 (26:16):
Great.
Speaker 11 (26:16):
I would like to send them to Heather with a
note that says, I hope these brighten your day.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
Okay, Heather, I hope these brighten your day.
Speaker 7 (26:28):
Hmm.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
That's a coincidence, Fernando, your voice being broadcast on the radio,
and we have your wife why Cayla? Well, I'm going
to tell you we have your wife, Kayla on the line,
who showed us an image of a posted note from
(26:51):
you cleaning out your stuff at work that says thinking
of you from another woman with a heart and an
arrow through it.
Speaker 6 (27:00):
What?
Speaker 7 (27:01):
Bro, I have no idea what you're talking about.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
Well, cal, why didn't you shed some light on this?
Your wife thinks that you're having an affair or something
is going on with another woman. Now, you didn't send
your wife flowers? You want to explain that, Fernando, Oh.
Speaker 7 (27:19):
My god, I dude, I don't know what this is about.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
Cala, Why don't you explain why we're here?
Speaker 7 (27:30):
Hi?
Speaker 5 (27:31):
It's me, I you are there? Yeah? Are you having
an affair?
Speaker 2 (27:41):
Babe?
Speaker 5 (27:44):
Babe? No one you calling a radio for this?
Speaker 2 (27:50):
So why.
Speaker 10 (27:52):
Worry about, babe.
Speaker 5 (27:53):
Okay, I was just curious about are you Are you
having an affair?
Speaker 2 (27:59):
Babe?
Speaker 5 (28:00):
No, he has nothing to worry about.
Speaker 7 (28:01):
Okay, there's nothing to worry about.
Speaker 11 (28:03):
It was a long time ago, and she doesn't even
work there anymore.
Speaker 5 (28:06):
Okay, well, what was a long time ago?
Speaker 1 (28:10):
The affair?
Speaker 7 (28:12):
Looks that box? Babe, listen me the box.
Speaker 11 (28:14):
That box was an accumulation of I don't know, it's
like eight years of stuff, like maybe more than eight
years worth of stuff.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Okay, why do you save that post it?
Speaker 5 (28:24):
No, we've been married for ten years.
Speaker 11 (28:27):
Okay, yeah, we've been married for ten years, bab All right,
I'm not.
Speaker 5 (28:32):
Having an affair.
Speaker 11 (28:32):
Okay, you have nothing to worry about.
Speaker 5 (28:36):
Okay, she just who who was she? She did? Just
tell me.
Speaker 11 (28:41):
You do not have anything to worry about. Okay, this
is like this a long time ago. It's just I
have a box of stuff, an accumulation of stuff.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
But why are you saving a post it from eight
years ago from another woman if you've been married for
ten years? Okay?
Speaker 11 (28:55):
Look, I'm going to hang up now, sweetheart. Okay, I
suggest you do the same. I don't think we need
to be talking to her Okay, care about you have
nothing to worry about. You have nothing to worry about.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
You're not sounding genuine here.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
But what if he didn't save the post and it
was just in all the stuff.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
No, he's clearly had something going on with somebody. He
said didn't mean anything.
Speaker 11 (29:15):
It doesn't matter.
Speaker 7 (29:16):
She's meaningless to me. You are all I care about.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
But you did it. You cheated, You cheated back.
Speaker 7 (29:22):
I'm gonna call you in a few minutes.
Speaker 11 (29:24):
I'm gonna call you a few minutes.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
You okay, okay, It sounds like he did, Kayla.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
He hung out, gone, he hung up, Kayla?
Speaker 5 (29:34):
What do you what do you think?
Speaker 7 (29:36):
I don't know what well I think.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
Do not let him manipulate you. Do not let him
gaslight you.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
No, And I can see what she's saying now with him,
how he likes, he knows how to argue like he.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
Do you believe your husband when he's telling us what
he's just said.
Speaker 5 (29:52):
Well, it really sounds like it wasn't anything recent, But
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
It doesn't matter if it was recent or not. It
was eight years ago. You guys have been married for
ten and he's got the letter still in his back.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Don't you.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
Back when we were having issues. You knew.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
You stand your ground and you stand up for yourself
in this thing.
Speaker 5 (30:12):
Okay, Okay, I just you know, I have a daughter
and I don't know what to do. I'll just talk
to him.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Well, let let's let's see how that goes. And you
could obviously call us back at any time, but make
sure that you stand up for you and good luck
with this, Okay.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Don't let him control you exactly.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
That's the word. He's very controlling. He sounds very controlling.
It's not good, all right, Cale, thank you for thank
you for reaching out.
Speaker 7 (30:43):
Good luck, Okay, thanks.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
I don't like that dynamic where he's so controlling and
she I just you know what I'm saying. Yeah, Caylen
Fernando reaching out to us. And he was cleaning out
his desk and she found a post it note that
said thinking of you with a heart and arrow through it.
They've been married for ten years. He said, oh, that's nothing,
doesn't mean anything. That was from eight years ago. Well, okay,
(31:11):
if it was from eight years ago, why does he
have a love note from someone at work? And he
was really cagey about sending the flowers he was sent
him to you.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
Yeah, he's like, what's your name?
Speaker 3 (31:21):
Heather?
Speaker 2 (31:22):
All right? I said to Heather, to make any sense
to me what he was trying to do unless he
knew he was on Ryan's roses. But he didn't say
that either. But here's the thing, and this is what
I want to talk about. Oh, I'm trying to think
of the right words.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
She's shy, timid.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
She's timid, and he's aggressive, and he sounds controlling and
manipulative yep. And she sounds sweet and soft and unsure
and unsure. And I think when we heard that, you
start thinking about she needs to stand up for herself
and what she deserves and not let him him just
(32:00):
run his mouth and try and twist things into whatever
he's trying. Because he was trying to do with us.
I mean, he basically said, hey, look that was eighty
years ago. It doesn't meannything. You mean everything to me.
But he was loud about it, and she was soft
about it.
Speaker 4 (32:10):
She seemed like she'd been like she'd been over the years,
beaten down by this.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
Dynamic of him. Yeah, kind of going in, going.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
Hard something about it. I mean, actually, Lizzie is on
the line here. Lizzie I think you've got the right word,
something about it was uncomfortable between them.
Speaker 5 (32:27):
Right, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (32:30):
I found the way that she was acting so mousey
and like timid when she was on the air with
her own husband, just the dynamically mean extremely uncomfortable.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
I feel like something's not really right there. I know
they don't have I mean, they've got the issues here
with the trust, but something's I don't know, uncomfortable because.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
She wasn't that timid with us. She had way more
confidence with us.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
She was like, uh yeah, and she asked us what.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
We thought, which I thought was interesting too.
Speaker 8 (33:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
Right, what should I do?
Speaker 3 (33:03):
I knee jerk when I hear something like that would
be not.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
A stand up for herself.
Speaker 3 (33:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (33:10):
To be honest, my thought is that that he is
a master manipulator. The fact that he was the one
to hang up and he didn't really admit anything aside
from the fact that he still loved her now and
somehow he's the one hanging up the line. I think
that he's a manipulator and that she needs to.
Speaker 5 (33:33):
She needs to put her foot down.
Speaker 6 (33:34):
She needs to stand up for herself and show their
daughter that she can be a strong woman who's not
going to take this.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
I you said it better than I. You are absolutely right,
and it worries me the dynamic there. But she needs
to stand up and she needs to get what she
deserves and she needs not let him manipulate. That is
exactly it.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
She was already going backwards by being like, well maybe
it was when we were having issues. She's like accepting that.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
It's okay, don't concede on this. I think she's right.
I think he's something happened now or later or way
back then. Lizzie, thank you for listening to us in Torrance.
You take a care. Thank you, Ryan's Roses. We do
it every Monday and every Thursday as a public service.
If something's going on in your relationship, you want to
get to the bottom of it. Firest So, yeah, it's
(34:21):
been all over the news, of course, everybody trying to
figure out how they can help the victims of the
fires here in southern California. And this came down last week.
It's really a big show. It's called fire Aid. You've
seen this, h So it's next week, Thursday, the thirtieth,
and it's to raise money for rebuilding communities devastated obviously
(34:43):
by these fires here in southern California. It's both that
into It Dome and Kia Forum, so two venues but
one night, and so many artists they needed two stages.
So I was just looking at the list here. Atlantis,
Morris Set, Billie Eilish, Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Earth Wind
(35:04):
and Fire, Green Day, Jelly Roll going to be there
as well, Lady Gaga, no doubt, Olivia Rodrigo, Red Hot
Chili Peppers, Stevie Nick, Stevie Wonder, Tate McCrae, and they'll
probably add to that. Yeah, between now and then, a
lot more artists will be on that list. It'll be
live here on Kiss FM and the iHeartRadio app. It's
(35:26):
streaming on Netflix, Apple TV plus, Paramount plus, Amazon Prime
and YouTube everywhere. So and also in theaters. Did you
see it's going to be an AMC theaters.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
That'd be cool.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
Came together very fast, and there's a big famous manager
that's behind all of this, Irving Azof so. Irving Azof
has you know a lot of those artists he represents,
but apparently he just he started making phone calls and
said we're doing.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
This, and the phone calls are coming into him like
it's like every artist wants to be a part of
this too, to pitch in. Uh huh.
Speaker 2 (36:02):
So yeah, the thirtieth two different venues. Tickets go on
seal noon on Wednesday, and you can get information on
a donation at Fireaidla dot org fireaidla dot org. But
that's going to be a powerful, powerful night. I understand
some victims will be on stage to help introduce the artists,
(36:23):
just to tell their stories. So that's what you got.
Fire aid La. It's forty three degrees right now on Burbank.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
Yeah, it's Jilly.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
It is layer up Patagonia weather h particularly dangerous situation
in effect again until ten am.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
Tomorrow's right with those Fana winds.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
Those winds are back. Well, everybody was talking about it
this weekend TikTok ban on Saturday. We're like, oh my gosh, tomorrow,
no more TikTok. And then I kept telling everybody the
story you told me, which is people are going to
Red Note or Lemonade.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
I tried Red Note by the way I downloaded, I
created my username or whatever, and I'm just like, I
don't know if.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
I have this in me, guys, really, because it's also
owned by a Chinese company. I think lemon eight is
owned by the same people as TikTok.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Yes, lemonade was like a no go.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
So joke's on who m man. No, it's funny because
I had I was with a group of people on
Sunday and they were on their phones for like an hour,
an hour and a half, and I thought, well, that's rude.
Speaker 12 (37:25):
Here I am here, I am here, I am hand
on your handnverstation, kickball, change hand on hip? What's with
all you people in your uried into your phone?
Speaker 2 (37:36):
TikTok was back? Well they were no, they were migrating
to red note. Yeah, So what happened TikTok when it
came back twelve hours later? What's the deal?
Speaker 12 (37:45):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (37:45):
I know everything.
Speaker 1 (37:46):
It all went down Saturday, and our phones are blowing
up in our text chains because everyone's like it's gone,
It's gone forever, blah blah blah. We're all sending the
screenshots that says sorry, TikTok isn't available right now, the
law banning TikTok blah blah blah. You got that message
when you went on it, and then we went to bed,
and then we woke up Sunday morning yesterday, and it
was starting to come back for some people, but like
it came back for Tanya, but it didn't come back
(38:07):
for me yet, and it was like, what is happening?
And that was the confusing part. But it's because I.
Speaker 2 (38:12):
Guess probably your spy target, yes.
Speaker 1 (38:15):
Exactly, but it's probably back now for ninety days. And
the ninety day extension is like if this deal is
still in progress, which there doesn't seem to be one,
but it looks like for whatever reason, they gave us
this ninety day extension anyways.
Speaker 2 (38:30):
So why why Tanyan? Why not you?
Speaker 1 (38:33):
I have it now. I think it was just the
way it was rolling out, the way it was being
restored for people, like.
Speaker 4 (38:37):
I still had my TikTok for a lot longer than
some other people, which was weird.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
And I thought I made a.
Speaker 4 (38:42):
Really funny real like I was like, since TikTok is
being banned, I'm going to post all my viral tiktoks
on Instagram.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
And everybody was doing this, but I.
Speaker 3 (38:49):
Had none, so it was just like blank screen, you know.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
I mean, it's a livelihood for so many people. They
get their money by tiktoking it's true.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
Yeah, I was.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
I mean, honestly, for me, I was like, okay, great,
one less platform to have to check to deal with
or look at right, I was.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
Too, but then there I did run over to Red
Not and I was like, we might as well get red.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
No, you know, you never know what's the difference into
red notes where people are migrating or they were right,
what's the difference in red Note and TikTok?
Speaker 10 (39:19):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (39:19):
It looked all the same to me, but it was
also in a different language, and some of it was
being translated, some of it wasn't. There was messages from
users on Red Note that are very active users, and
they were welcoming TikTok refugees to the platform and saying welcome,
we welcome you to our platform. This that whatever. So
who knows the law still hasn't changed. We have TikTok
(39:41):
on our phones. When I checked recently, you still couldn't
get it in the app store, So it's just on
our phones.
Speaker 2 (39:48):
But I don't for ninety more days Apri to April.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
Twenty fourth is the new deadline?
Speaker 2 (39:53):
All right? Well, yeah, so it wasn't such a big deal.
That means she's going to be gone.
Speaker 3 (39:57):
And the girl was like crying.
Speaker 4 (39:59):
She put those are like four tiktoks, just like bawling
her eyes out.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
There are a lot of other things I'd like to
cry about. Is about what I think so too. I'm
just looking at the temperature. So if forty something in Burbing,
thirty three in Palmdale, thirty three cold. If you are
going to Chicago today, sorry, it's eight.
Speaker 1 (40:20):
I don't even know what that feels like.
Speaker 2 (40:22):
It's eight, it's cold.
Speaker 3 (40:23):
Cold.
Speaker 2 (40:24):
If you're going to Minneapolis, really sorry today minus nine?
Speaker 1 (40:30):
Like, how what does that feel like? Do you feel
your face?
Speaker 5 (40:34):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (40:35):
No, you cannot feel It's the weekend. He can't feel
his face. You can't feel your face. It's hard to
talk in that, it's hard to move your your mouth.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
Well, how about these football players? They're playing in like
snow and I'm not.
Speaker 2 (40:45):
Want to talk about it. Yeah, first of all, I
want to talk about it. We lost.
Speaker 1 (40:50):
It's it's it's an unfair advantage if you ask me,
when you have a when you have our LA boys
out there and then it just starts dumping snow in
the middle of the game, and their hands are fair
used to that, not used to it affair.
Speaker 2 (41:04):
Minus nineteen in Fargo, North Dakota, minus nineteen. What do
you do? You can't do anything.
Speaker 1 (41:11):
Do your pipes freeze like bed Mark.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
You grew up in Milwaukee.
Speaker 9 (41:15):
Yeah, when it gets this cold, you leave your sink
on at all times, just a little trickle.
Speaker 2 (41:20):
Otherwise the pipes freeze, seem Yeah, And do you miss
it like here you are in Burbank right now. Do
you miss winter's in Milwaukee? No, not even a little bit.
It's nice to see the snow around Christmas time, but
this is the time of year that it's rough. Oh man,
it is still a long way to go. When I
was doing Live with Kelly and Ryan in New York,
this was January February. Don't kid yourself. March is cold too.
(41:44):
On the East Coast. You think March is spring. No,
it doesn't get warm till mayo May, and you have to.
Speaker 1 (41:52):
Go out there all early with Georgia and me your
go potty, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 7 (41:56):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:56):
And you gotta put booties on. So when you live
in a city like that, they put so down for
the snow. You have to put rubber booties on the
dogs because the salt will burn their plans.
Speaker 1 (42:04):
They can't put on of l a you know, right.
Speaker 2 (42:09):
There have been a few high profile breakups. At the
beginning of the year. I was reading the justic Alvin
cash Warner splitting up, I know, and she posted, what
basically they just grew apart after sixteen years or something
like that, right, and it's terrifying. I was thinking about you, Siciny,
why well, because I mean, she it seems like there's
no they have love for each other.
Speaker 3 (42:29):
Yeah, but there's no business.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
Yeah, communication, They just grew out.
Speaker 2 (42:35):
But you can grow out of.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
You grow together or you grow apart.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
But you have to work at it.
Speaker 2 (42:41):
You can't just like I don't think that happened overnight.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
You can't get complacent in the well, I guess we're
just not the same anymore. And then, you know what
I mean, you have to put the effort eight on
both sides.
Speaker 2 (42:51):
I think some people say, you know what, we're not happy.
We love each other, but we're not happy. Let's just
let's find happiness and it may not be with each other.
People change a Tanya. I know, it's terrifying as you
are on the doorstep of your wedding, I know, but
be careful sixteen years and people change.
Speaker 1 (43:09):
Yeah, but you know a Tania, I'm sixteen years in
with Michael and we are nowhere in that category.
Speaker 2 (43:15):
Yeah. But also like I.
Speaker 4 (43:16):
Expect both of us to change throughout the years, but
change together together, right.
Speaker 2 (43:22):
But that's not the couple in the training reporter is
no new news.
Speaker 4 (43:26):
So it was announced last week that Bachelor alums Matt
James and Rachel Kirconnell had ended their relationship after four
years of dating. And we found out through an Instagram
post that Matt shared. So it was a picture of
the two of them and it was from The Bachelor.
It was like right when she got out of the
limo and it said, Father, God give Rachel and I
(43:47):
strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us peace about
this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding.
And I'm going to save you the rest because it
was kind of lengthy. Yeah, but this entire break announcement
was so weird because he had just posted videos on
his stories of them in London together. So people were
(44:07):
so confused about this breakup that they thought his account
was like hacked because it was so weird. But according
to Rachel's sister. Matt broke up with Rachel just three
hours before his Instagram announcement. So they broke up, and
then three hours later he turns to his Instagram to
share the news.
Speaker 1 (44:26):
He was ready to let the world know.
Speaker 4 (44:28):
To me, it's giving no respect, it's giving. I want
people to know I'm single and ready to mingle, and
it's giving.
Speaker 2 (44:33):
Desperate, it's giving desperate.
Speaker 4 (44:36):
Yeah I read that. Remember I told you Austin Butler
and Kay Gerber broke up.
Speaker 2 (44:41):
Yes, I do remember that.
Speaker 4 (44:42):
J Want is now saying that people think that Austin
Butler's looking up with em Rata. Oh really yeah, but
they're saying no fors and am Roda.
Speaker 2 (44:53):
Would you just say her name for people who don't
know what code.
Speaker 3 (44:55):
Is Emily Radakowski.
Speaker 2 (44:58):
Thank you, Tanya rad back room. Thank you for a
