Could you sleep without an alarm? A new trend called "free sleeping is going viral" for its benefits.

A woman named Lisa has claimed to have trained her brain to wake up naturally in the morning when she needs to. No buzzing, no beeping, no alarm at all!

She says the duration of sleep we need is different for everyone and is genetically predetermined. When she got rid of her alarm, she felt her best after sleeping for about nine hours.

So, what does she do if she needs to be up earlier? Listen back here. Could you do it?

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Did you see this making rounds on social media. It's
a woman named Lisa right talking about the benefits of
what she calls free sleeping. I think we mentioned this.
It's sleeping without an alarm. Can you do that?

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Maybe?

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Well, she says, it's not about the buzzing alarm. Uh huh,
no beeping. She says. The duration of sleep we need
is different for everybody, and it's genetically predetermined. I didn't
know that interesting, genetically predetermined. I need eight.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
I think I need eight too. I need eight.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Gosh, that's good. I mean, that's there. You go.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
I wish I could sleep eight nine hours.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
No, well, I have to go to bed at a
certain hour if I want to naturally wake up, if
I want to try that, even so, I've got to
get down before at a certain hour to naturally get up.
You know.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Okay, when she got rid of her alarm, though, how
many hours she ended up sleeping?

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Nine?

Speaker 2 (00:51):
That's a lot.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
If I could get nine, you guys would not want
me to have nine. Actually, to have so much energy,
you would not want me to be around nine is
like decadent. Be doing this show and another show at
the same time.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Uh, huh, nine would be amazing. I'm gonna get nine.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Someday I would never be able to get nine, Like
I'd wake up and then I'd probably go to the
bathroom and go back to back.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
That's great, But if you didn't have a sketch, like
when you empty nest later and you retired later or
just whatever, you won't have to have an alarm. Chris
is on air with a Ryan Seacrest.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
