Speaker 1 (00:00):
That is mature. It is the new song from Hillary Duff.
Love that she's got that new music. So does the planet.
Everybody buzzing about that. Hillary Duff is on the phone
right now. Hi Hillary, Hi Ryan. It is the voice
that I recognize as the first voice I heard when

(00:21):
I started this show.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Do you remember the alarm clock you gave me?

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Of course I do.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Boys before technology was technology like this, right, that.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Was so ahead of its time.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I know, thank you for that.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Well, there's so much to always talk about with you,
but loving this new music. Tell us about why you
decided to do it now?

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Oh my gosh. Well, first of all, thank you. That
is so nice. And I'm having the most fun too.
I mean last week and the week before it was
just like the craziest, warmest welcome after being gone for
such a long time. So so excited to you know,
see everybody responding and like loving it. And you know,

(01:09):
I took a big long break. I had a bunch
of kids, and I think that you know, ten fifteen
years of not like tapping into that part of your life. Like,
I had a whole bunch of stuff to say and
things that I wanted to sing about, and I was
ready to connect with people and on that level again

(01:30):
and in this stage of my life. So it came up,
you know, it came together really organically. I did it
with my husband and it was just, you know, it
just felt like the right moment, which I don't know.
You know, I'm a big believer in like timing, and
this just happened to work for me.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
So I'm thinking about the time it's gone by, as
you mentioned, and then you're about to put this out
into the world.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
There's got to be all kinds of different emotions that
you feel.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Well, obviously I saw people lining up, like a lot
of people lining up to get tickets or to see
you at some of these shows, these small shows you've
been doing.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
But you never know, you never know.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Right well, you never know no exactly. That's why I
keep saying, it was like the warmest welcome ever. I mean,
it's really scary, you know. I think that for the
longest time. You know, I kind of chose acting as
my primary job because it's so vulnerable. Like you know,
music and singing is such a forward facing thing and

(02:32):
there's really no way for me to do it, and
like sing other people's songs, you know, like it's it's
really from your experiences in your heart, and it's hard
to put yourself out there like that, especially where you know,
like the whole world is able to like comment so
fast and easy and everybody can see it. And that's
a whole different you know, beast that I'm not as
used to on the singing front, you know, from when

(02:54):
I was coming up. So it's all very scary, but
I think there's a lot of pride and joy in
doing things that scare you, you know, And I think
that just being like thirty eight and being here, I mean,
I'm run one of the super lucky ones where you know,
I I've grown up in this business, so people have
watched me grow up and grown up alongside of me,

(03:16):
and I'm like super ready to connect with them again
at this age and you know what we're all going through.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
So yeah, well Tany did it?

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Yeah, I got it, I understand. Did a reading of
your lyrics the other day, Yes.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
Okay, Hillary, I am obsessed with the song, like beyond
obsessed with it. So I was doing a trending report
because there was speculation about the lyrics to the song.
Very Leo of you with your Scorpio touch okay, And
I brought it to the show and everybody was like, no, no,
doesn't matter who it's about, blah blah. But then your
husband posted this meme of Leonardo from Titanic holding your

(03:57):
album cover, and I was like, is he confirming a
speculation or is he trolling us?

Speaker 3 (04:04):
First of all, we're getting the biggest kick out of
the speculations. It's honestly, so it's thrilling. It's it's it's
one hundred thrilling. And the internet is such a funny place.
I'm upset and everyone and I'm seeing all the videos. No,
you can't take anything that Matthew posts. Seriously, He's on
the planet Earth and he will lead everybody down all

(04:25):
the roads and have the most fun doing it. So
so yeah, no, not confirming, not denying anything here.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
The fact that he posted that was so iconic. I
was laughing for two days straight over it.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
So I appreciate. I didn't know what happened.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
I thought, I thought a lot of things, And because
human are so excited, like bouncing off the walls, and
this was why, this was the reason why.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
He's honestly one of the funniest people to follow, but
like sometimes it gets a little too niche for me
and I'm like, yeah, that one's over my head. I
don't get that one. But sometimes it's definitely fun being
married to that guy.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Duff is with us and you're going on a little
mini tour smaller venues, right.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Yes, yes, definitely, like emphasis on the word mini. They
you know, they're just like little, tiny, little super fun performances.
And the response was so massive I was in tears,
Like it takes a lot to get me to cry
these days, but like to see hundreds of thousands of

(05:28):
people like trying to get tickets and like waiting for
tickets to drop was like such an insane feeling. I
was like, oh my god, wait because people still care.
Use Honestly, it was just like crazy. So, you know,
there's definitely gonna be more to come, but these these
are just to like get the wiggles out, you know,

(05:49):
and to be on stage again and sing some new
songs and all my old songs, and it's going to
be a really fun victory lap, you know, but definitely
more to well.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
I'm so happy that you're in this response, which you deserve,
and it sounds great.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
Yeah, when will we hear hear more the album, another single.
I'm like, oh my god, wait, I have so many
times bouncing around in my head right now.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
After jaman Gi three is going to be released next year, I.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Think you're going to hear something before that.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Okay, guys, that's a big deal. We got a specific
time of year. Just look at Jamanji three release date
and there you go. Nice to hear from you. Thank
you for calling to keep us posted.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
These guys are the best. Thank you, and it's really
good to talk to you again. It's been a long
long time. Yes, thanks for having me on you. Thank you,
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
By guy.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
I just I come off these conversations like that glowing.
I know it's who we are. Tom Cruise said, movies,
that's who I am. Pop stars, that's who we are.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Yes, pop music, that's who we are.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
That's who we are. Kiss FM here we are paying
your bills. Next in the nine to nine
