Sabrina Carpenter Comments on Barry Keoghan After Being Asked If Her New Music Is About Him

Soo, is it? Tanya Rad shared in today's trending report Sabrina Carpenter finally addressed everyone's speculation in regards to her ex-boyfriend and lyrics in her new album, Man's Best Friend. 

Sabrina and Barry dated for about a year before splitting at the end of 2024.

During an interview with “CBS Mornings," Sabrina was asked whether certain lyrics were about him and she shared: "It’s more fun for people to picture the person in their head than the person I picture in my head, I think.”

She was then asked if men are a little scared to date her knowing she’ll write songs about them.

“I feel pretty transparent going into any of my relationships that I write songs," Sabrina said. "Most of the time they’ve been pretty flattered when they get a song written about them, good or bad.”

album about heartbreak, which I found to be very interesting

and kind of cute. But she was doing an interview
with CBS Mornings and she was asked whether certain lyrics
were about Barry key Ogan, and Sabrina had this to say.
She said, it's more fun for people to picture the
person in their head than the person I picture in
my head, I think. And then she was also asked
if men are a little scared to date her, knowing
that she'll write songs about them. She said, I feel

And I just loved the interview because it's funny when
you listen to the lyrics like she was they were asked.
She was asked about Bedkem particularly, which is off an
old album. But the song, the lyric literally says, who's
a cute boy in the white jacket with a thick accent?
And like the night that they met her and Barry,
he was wearing the white jacket and he has a
thick accent. So it's like she's very telling in her lyrics,

but she's never just gonna come out and say, yes,
this song is about Barry. Do you know what I mean?

Well, she did if she met a cute guy with
an accent in white jacket, that's basically saying it. The thing.
You know, I spent a lot of time in the studio,
so songwriters I do, Yeah, you know I sometimes sometimes
when I'm off, I'll cruise by the studio. Ryan Tedter's
got a place. He's got a spot, uh huh where
people just come fro him. He writes songs, Max Martin

come for him. He writes songs, produces them a lot
of times. Many times the idea is from real life,
but then it becomes fiction in the lyrics to make
a good song. Yeah, you can do whatever you want. Yeah,
the notion could be this happened to me by in
a Whitejack acute accent. But then everything else could be fiction.

It can be made up. It's kind of like when
you watch a series or a movie and it says
based on a true story, Well, how much how much
is based on a true story that a man and
a woman were in it?

I mean it could be ninety, could be ten percent.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
That's the thing. You don't know based on real events.
How many two of the seven hundred in the series,
I don't know.
