With Mario Hollywood buzz.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
So Cardi B has accused Offset, her ex, and his
mother of stealing from her. In more, in a new
explosive rant, she hopped on X spaces and opened up
about her alleged experiences with Offset, claiming that he didn't
buy their three kids Christmas gifts last month, even though
he bought his other three kids presence, so if you're counting,

(01:01):
he's got six kids. She went on to claim that
he tried to embarrass her out of spite, in accused
Offset and his mother of robing her cold. This is sad,
it's gotten this ugly.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
So a lot of people like this show, and they've
been recommending it. It's getting a lot of buzz. However,
I don't like when people lead with this. Whenever they
say you got to stick with it, that's a turn
off to me. Yeah, you've got to give I'll go
wait five or six watch you want to waite five
or six hours before it gets good?

Speaker 4 (02:32):
No, I agree with you.

Speaker 6 (02:33):
The only the only show that that absolutely applies to
and I will accept that for is The Office because
the first season is six episodes and they're kind of
tough to get through. But once you do, why but
why I think it. I don't know why. They're funny,
but it's like it's just different. And if you watch
like they're time, Yeah, they're they're trying to like they're
trying to figure out the characters and all that stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
So it takes a minute.

Speaker 6 (02:55):
But those are half hour, right, Yeah, but once they
get into it, half hours a little more.

seventy six.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Mario Lopez will be right back.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Almo Courtney Lopez. No secret.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
A lot of us spend a lot of money on
our pets. I don't have ever added up to how
much to spend. A new survey by met Life found
that the average pet parent spend two eighty five dollars
on their four legged friends in twenty twenty four, a
lot more expensive than what most pets actually cost just
to get them. That includes the cost of hiring a
pet sitter or boarding at a facility.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Well, a lot of number seems low to me. That
is incredible, though. And I'm gonna tell you why.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
My mom, who I got her a dog, hit me
with the bill. Oh pardon me, the collection of bills
for her dog. Duld say for what And it was
substantially more like or something, Yes, vet bills this and
that me equal you got me the dog, I mean,
if you could help me up so and I'm like,
oh my gosh, Mom, I should have just got to

(05:45):
a car.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
I mean you'd have to do maintenance on that too, though.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
So I'm just glad you don't know what I spend
on our.

Speaker 6 (05:51):
Dogs honestly, Like, I probably spend more on my dog's
food per year than that amount they just gave.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
So two words pet insurance. What up?

Speaker 3 (06:00):
You're all, Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Still so much to get to as we power through
this Friday with you getting get into a fake debate
in about thirty five minutes or so.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
Hang on for that and Mussy Movies coming up next.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Time for Mussy Movies with Mario Courtney Lopez. All right, honey,
what's hitt in theaters this weekend?

Speaker 4 (06:17):
Wolfman Julia Garner and Sam Jaeger star Blake and his
family are attacked by an unseen animal, and, in a
desperate escape, barricade themselves inside a farmhouse as the creature
prowls the perimeter. As the night stretches on, however, Blake
begins to behave, strangely, transforming into something unrecognizable that soon

(06:37):
jeopardizes his wife and daughter.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Is he the.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Animal, it becomes a Wolfman.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
I love a Wolfman movie, Wolfman, anything Wolfman related. I've
always really enjoyed. I haven't heard too much about this one,
so I'm hoping it's gonna be pretty cool. We love
Julia Garner, though.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
Did you have heard you do howl a lot?

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (06:57):
Did you see the one with Sir Anthony Hopkins, like
twelve years ago or something?

Speaker 3 (07:02):
No? Because it was terrible?

Speaker 7 (07:05):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Oh wow? Not good? Oh wow? Okay?

Speaker 4 (07:09):
And one of them days Kiki Palmer and Sizza when
her boyfriend takes her rent money. Alyssa and her roommate
race against the clock to avoid eviction and keep their
friendship intact.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
That looks pretty fun, and it looks hilarious. It looks
really funny. I bet you that's gonna be one of
those cult classics.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Mario Lopez will be right.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Back Mario Lopez for a weekly fake debate where the
topics are made up on the spot, but the passion
is real.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Who's pro? Who's con?

Speaker 6 (07:34):
I will let you be pro, Courtney will be con.
You'll have fifteen seconds make your case in second rebuttal afterwards.
Your topic today is clouds.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
I'm pro clouds. Yes, and you're against clouds, Missus Lopez. Okay,
mister Lopez.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Are up just like Susan Carpenter said, rainy days and mondays,
all that bad reference and I'm dating.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
That's it, That's all I get. No, no, come on,
missus Lopez.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
Clouds are depressing. Clouds are depressing, and they depress people.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Mister, I beg to differ. Clouds block the sun. The
sun causes a lot of skin damage, possibly cancer, So
clouds are actually saving lives.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
Clouds are nothing but a cover to block sunshine.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
That's what he just said.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Can not use my same argument against me.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Let the audience decide more.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Omaro Cordey Lopez about to fire up the Zoom a
chat with Outer Bank star Chase Stokes. And not only
is he in that show on Netflix, He's got two
new movies coming out soon. I'm gonna get a sooop
on that and more from Chase just after the top
of the hour.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
In the meantime, some more music Tebroel. Mario Lopez joined
me right now on.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Zoom from the hitting Netflix series Outer Banks actor Chase Stokes.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
How are you man?

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Are you?

Speaker 7 (09:12):
How are you doing?

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Brother?

Speaker 3 (09:13):
I'm doing well.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
I don't know if you've happen to catch my daytime
show Access Daily, but you get a lot of love there.
I give you a lot of love.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Man, I appreciate it.

Speaker 8 (09:23):
We were just talking about it with the executives on
both films. Man, we genuinely genuinely appreciate the love that
you're giving us.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
Man, you got it. You got it.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
I'm like, hey, I like that kid style.

Speaker 7 (09:32):
I love it. I'm I'm just trying to make some movies.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Good for you, well, congratulations. The fourth season of the
show streaming right now on Netflix for people who may
not be familiar with it.

Speaker 8 (09:43):
What's the premise so Outer Banks is as it follows
a group of kids kind of from the wrong side
of the tracks, and they stumble across a unearthed mystery
that sends them on this crazy kind of wild goose
chase and it leads now four seasons later, into them
chasing some insane relics and some insane sort of journeys

(10:05):
that they've been on.

Speaker 7 (10:06):
And it's kind of Montehuese.

Speaker 8 (10:07):
Versus the Capulids, Romeo and Juliet a little young love
mixed in there. So it's kind of a coming of
age meets Indiana Jones meets the Goonies and just popped
out and you've got Outer Banks.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
That is a hell of a log line right there.
I like that.

Speaker 7 (10:20):
Yeah, I had some time to think about that one.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Covering all the genres had me at Gooney's. That's right,
all right, Chase, hang on lots more to talk about
Chase Stokes after a quick breaks catching up with actor
Chase Stokes from the Netflix hit Outer Banks. Mario Lopez
here and Chase, what's your character up to as the
season wraps up?

Speaker 7 (10:38):
So in the fourth season of Outer Banks, you know,
John b is sort of.

Speaker 8 (10:42):
Faced with the reality that his father has passed away
in this crazy pursuit of treasure, you know, and he's
faced a lot of adversity. He's he's you know, lost friends,
he's lost his life, he's lost all of a sense
of normalcy. So this this four season is really him
coming to terms with this new idea entity and being
labeled to somebody that he never knew that he was

(11:03):
going to be labeled as.

Speaker 7 (11:04):
And what does that look like.

Speaker 8 (11:05):
You know, being young in love, newfound level of success
and how to navigate that with this group of friends
who's never seen anything like that.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
And I believe you've gotten picked up for another season
as well. Correct.

Speaker 8 (11:17):
Yeah, yep, so we're gonna go into our fifth and
final season plane, thank you.

Speaker 9 (11:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (11:23):
It's rare man, you know, to be able to start
a show and add it on the note that you
want to versus you know, so many shows get the
acts sooner than you know they anticipate.

Speaker 7 (11:33):
So it's a true blessing.

Speaker 8 (11:34):
It's a blessing that the world is taking the show
and brought it into their homes and so many people
who have loved on it, and hopefully we get to
do justice to it in the ways that a lot
of people hope to see.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
That's a great run, man.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Congrats again on all the success Outer Banks streaming on Netflix.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
Hey tight, more with Chase Stokes coming up.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
More fun on the Way On with Mario Lopez. A.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Mario Lopez got actor Chase Stokes on Zoom talking about
a show, Outer Banks And do you shoot in North Carolina?

Speaker 1 (12:00):
What is it?

Speaker 7 (12:00):
We have to shoot in South Carolina? So done?

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Interesting, cas kyl And how do you like it down
there shooting.

Speaker 7 (12:05):
All that time? I like it so much that I
bought a house down there, is that right? Okay?

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (12:09):
Yeah, so I left LA.

Speaker 8 (12:11):
You know, we shoot for six seven months out of
the year. So yeah, my sister goes to college there.
My family's in Florida, so it's just it's a little
closer to home.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
Where are you from?

Speaker 7 (12:19):
Originally I was born in Annapolis, Maryland.

Speaker 8 (12:23):
Then I went to middle school, elementary school just outside
of Atlanta, and then I did high school and some
of college down in Orlando, Florida.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
In Orlando. Okay, wait, just because of Pops's job, is
that why you were moving around a loder?

Speaker 8 (12:34):
Not really, yeah, like kind of sorta he sold data.
Not a job that like would force you to move
a lot, but yeah, just kind of beep opping around.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Yeah, so you're you're Southern boy. All right, Well, hang on,
I want to ask about these movies you got coming out.
A few more songs, and we're gonna come back with
after Chase Stokes, Outer Bank Star Chase Stokes hanging on
Zoom with us, Mario Lopez here and Chase. I know
you also got a couple of movies coming out. First,
one is Marked Men Rule in Shot. What is what
is this?

Speaker 8 (13:01):
So it's based on the New York Times best selling
book series by Jay Cronover. And it's the first installment
and quite a few novels actually in the series, and
so follows this guy Rule, and he's sort of a dark,
twisted soul. His brother has tragically passed away three years prior,
and his family and himself sort of hold the burden

(13:22):
of the death on Rule and his family friend Shaw,
played by the unbelievable Sidney Taylor. They've known each other
for a long time and always been in the same space,
but never really seen each other see each other. And
it's the story of two people who are on the
outside very different but internally have a lot of similarities
falling in love and falling in love in a very

(13:44):
unconventional way. So it's both of them trying to let
their walls down and let each other in, but not really.

Speaker 7 (13:49):
In a space to allowing it. So it's a very
very beautiful story.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Al Mario Lopez catching up with actual Chase Stokes. And
you know, I've had the opportunity to to interview your
lady Kelsey a few times. I was being very sweet
and you guys been going on for a couple of
years and how'd y'all meet?

Speaker 8 (14:06):
So it was two years last week, January seventh, she
slid into my DMS.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Man, Okay, how new age?

Speaker 7 (14:15):
All right?

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Your DMS all right?

Speaker 8 (14:17):
For yeah? Actually, ironically I was filming Marksman in Bulgaria
and she was out with the girls and just got
a wild hair shot a DM and that was it, man,
that was it. Came back from Bulgaria and we met up,
I think right after the New Year, and I was like, oh, yep,
good for you that.

Speaker 7 (14:38):
One right there.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Hi, Chase, anytag once more for me, quick breaking and
we're gonna come back and wrap it up.

Speaker 9 (14:42):
We you're the full interview now on with Mario dunc
More Mario Lopez on the way.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Wrapping up with actor Chase Stokes from Outer Banks. Mario
Lopez here before you go, man, I wanted to ask
you about this. You were considering possibly a career in hockey.
Were you a big hockey guy?

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (14:58):
Yeah, I grew hockey.

Speaker 8 (14:59):
So my stepdad, he's from Saint Paul, like Minneapolis area,
So I grew up playing hockey every weekend. I was Michigan, Minnesota,
New York, New Hampshire. And you know it's a it's
a fairly physical sport. Yeah. So after probably too many
concussions and a torn rotator cuff, I was like, all right,
I gotta I got to figure out a more tangible
career path. So I chose acting, which is obviously super

(15:21):
secure and so yeah, man, so that that was kind
of the dream for.

Speaker 7 (15:26):
For the longest time.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
Oh that's cool.

Speaker 7 (15:28):
There you stop that one.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
You still get on the ice once in a while
and has around.

Speaker 7 (15:31):
It's funny to say that.

Speaker 8 (15:32):
I just so, I've had my all my equipment and
storage in it done in my mom's place, and I
just got it all. She brought it up and just
got some new equipment. So I'm going to start getting
out on the ice here. That was one of my
like to do to do list for twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
So nice.

Speaker 7 (15:47):
So I got all my teeth, So let's see how
how that works out.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Be careful, be careful out there.

Speaker 7 (15:53):
Man.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Hey, congratulations on everything, and I appreciate you taking the
time to chat and everyone listened. Be sure to catch
Chase in the new movies Marked Men and Valiant One
in theaters later this month, and O're on Netflix of
course on outer Banks. Chase, good to meet your brother,
see you in person soon. Pleasure all Mario Courtney Lopez
with a quick programming note or big iHeartRadio Music Award

(16:17):
announcement that was supposed to drop last week we got
delayed because of the l wildfires is now set for Wednesday,
January twenty second at nine am Eastern, So.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
Seid a reminder and if you miss it, we'll have
all the infoone nominations and everything else up at I'm
with Mario dot com.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
A'm Mario Courtney Lopez, and I gotta say we hit
a milestone over at the Lopez Fanbam. I took my Gia,
our daughter.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
To her first My Gia our daughter.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
Yeah, my Da our daughter, that's true, not to be
confused with my other kids. I took her out for
her first driving lesson.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Yes she did.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
She's only fourteen years old. Oh and you might be wondering, well,
she can't be dragging on the street. It was a
big open parking lot. The reason I did it was
this a friend of mine who was on an airplane
when the evacuation notice happened here in La due to
the wildfires. Her mother, who was disabled, was there with

(17:14):
the caretaker and her fourteen year old son was also
home and they had five dogs. So they got the
evacuation at three thirty in the morning. The fourteen year
old sprung into action like a little man, and he said,
you take care of grandma. I'm going to take the
dogs and drive us out of here.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Loaded.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Everybody in the car drove eight miles damn to safety.
I think to another relatives or something, and they were fine.
And then I thought to myself, Wow, if we're ever
in some sort of emergency situation, I think our oldest
should know how to drive. So I was inspired and
I took our daughter to a big parking lot and
she did really well.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
I was proud of her.

Speaker 4 (17:53):
She I walked into her bedroom and she had an
outfit laid out on the ground with jewelry like.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
She off a recruising or word. You didn't take one picture,
you know.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
The only reason I take one picture is because I
wanted to take it really serious, and I didn't want
it for one second keep my eye off of her
in this tract. But that that was at that moment
that I felt old more.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
You're all mariol Courtney Lopez putting a spotlight on my wife,
because it's not for Courtney's a random thought.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
All right, So listen. Many things are embarrassing in life,
but watching the IG story of a random acquaintance fifty
three seconds after it was posted, that's kind of next
level embarrassing.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
I don't think so necessarily, because sometimes if you're watching
other people's stories, there's just pops up and it automatically
goes to the next person.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Could be an innocent deal. And it's also I'll tell
you what's embarrassing is if like you're trying to stalk
your X and then they see that you they see
that for some reason, they still follow you, and then
they see that you just viewed it, like.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
Well, no, I don't.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
You can't watch a story of someone you don't.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
Follow, don't see it, they still follow you. That's no.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
I know. I'm sad you've done that before.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
Who you follow I'm just saying that would be embarrassing.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Yeah, that is, or Corney Lopez, You're about to get out.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
Of here, but not before we squeeze in our comment
of the week just a few songs from that.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
In the meantime, we're.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Also going to squeeze in a request or two. So
got a song you want to hear? Just slide into
our dms over on Facebook or ex at Alma Mario.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
Mario, Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
Almost time to head home, but not before we honor
our comment of the week.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
What'd you find for us?

Speaker 1 (19:24):
Honey?

Speaker 4 (19:24):
This is from at Dude. I'm zonged and they said,
when you ask for someone's name, you're essentially asking them
what noises you should make to get their attention.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
That's true. You need to refer to them. You need
to refer to that like words are essentially just noises,
right right, Tim Mothy.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
Yes, you can't just yell hey every time, so you've
got hey you So you gotta have a reference.

Speaker 4 (19:48):
So you mean like our son Sonny when you can't

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
