Speaker 1 (00:00):
On with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Mike's are now live, Mario Courtney Lopez back in the
driver's see got a big show for you today. Our
guest is Charlie Pooth, who just tied the knot in
his launch in his own TV show on Roku.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
We'll also learn a new life hack in Courtney's Corner
and share your comments too. But up next, the celebrity
names that we've been saying completely wrong. You are on
with Mario and Quatney.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Lopez Mario Courtney Lopez, and we've found some more examples
of celebrity names that apparently we've been pronouncing incorrectly. So, Frazer,
why don't you play the audio for Jake and Maggie Gillenhall's.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
Name Yelin Haylo Yalen Haylo.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Yelin Heyla. That sounds very Norwegian. I believe that's the
ethnic origin, uh Yilyen Heila. Look, I figured you can
do that with yeah, Jake, Jake, Yelin Heila, Jillen Hall
very Americanized, but I feel like you can do that
with every name like you, I would be technically Mario Lopez, right,
and you Matza Matza. So I figured that will be
(01:04):
the case, but let's keep it going. What about uh,
Denzel Washington? Come on, it's got to be Denzel Washington.
Speaker 5 (01:10):
Actually it's Denzel, and I'm Denzil Jr.
Speaker 6 (01:13):
So my mother started calling me Denzel just so you know.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
She'd say Denzel and we both would show up Denzel.
It's Denzel.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
Yea, when you're a junior, you both people will turn
around if you have the same name.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Right, But it's but it's not Denzel. It is Denzel.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
Denzel.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Denzel doesn't sound as strong as Denzel Washington.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
You know what, next time you interview these people, you
need to have this.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
I'm gonna hit Jake with and then what's sub Denzil Denzel?
That's fun? Okay, what about what about my guy Willem Dafoe.
I'm sure the Willem's going to be different, right, William Dafoe,
Come on, they're different, both are different. And that's not
fair because he actually spells it w I l l
(01:57):
e M.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
That's the Dutch spelling of William. Apparently I did some research.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
He did some research, but then why is he spelling
it that way and then pronouncing it willem. More importantly,
Dave fo now you're hitting us with Dave Fo and
he's late for that. He's the Fu, not Da Fo.
All right, let's take a break because there's more of
these and we'll have to get some more.
Speaker 7 (02:16):
I have to process this.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
More.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Mario Lopez coming up, Jamar Courtney Lopez. What do we
got on TV today? Honey?
Speaker 7 (02:25):
Yes, I'm excited.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Bravo has season fifteen of the Real Housewives of New
York City. Rumors reach a boiling point at Brin's party.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
I'm sure they do now, didn't they pretty much change
over the whole cast last season?
Speaker 3 (02:39):
They completely recast everyone.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Do you like the new girls?
Speaker 3 (02:43):
I do like the new girls. Yeah, I have a
place in my heart. There's always a place in my
heart for the old ones. But they're still doing like
the Real Housewives Legacy on Peacock, They're still.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
There, got it? What else?
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Abc and ESPN have the baseball playoffs. Yes, Detroit faces
Houston and Kansas City. He plays Baltimore.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Los Angeles Dodgers got the best record in baseball and
the number one seed. We get to wait to see
who we play come this Saturday. However, our pitching is deestimated,
so we're just gonna grab onto the coattails of shoe
Hail Tany and see how far he'll take us prayers
up pretty far.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
I think Netflix debuts making it in Marbella. Real estate
agents compete for the best listings in a luxurious vacation
spot of Marba, Spain, Oh my.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
Gosh, where every English person goes on vacation. Yes, it's
like two hours away.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
I can imagine what those prices are going to be.
All right, mariok Courtney Lopez here. We're gonna get back
to those celebrity names and the correct pronunciations in just
a second. But first we've got a bunch of baby news.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Francis Bean Cobain and Tony Hawk's son Riley have welcomed
their first child and it's a boy, Ronan Walker Cobain Hawk.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Wow, that's a name for it, you know what. Congratulations,
but a missed opportunity. They should have named the baby
to come on Tua Hawk Hawk, Tua come on that girl. Yes,
if you have to explain it these.
Speaker 7 (04:09):
Guys, I can't even believe you thought of that girl.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Well only because of Hawk. And then I thought this too.
They should have gone to a hawk on crete Jungle anyway.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Anyway, influencer Logan Paul and his fiance Nina had a
baby girl as me Agdall Paul and Bachelor Nations. Colton
Underwood and his husband Welcome to Boy via a surrogate
Bishop Colton Brown Underwood.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Oh there's a name right there. We've had him in studio. Congrats,
Jomar Courtney Lopez, and we were going through these celebrity
names that apparently we've been pronouncing wrong all this time.
Jake Jill and Hall is really Yellen Hayler, Denzel Washington
is really Denzil hold On Yla, and Williem Dafoe is
(04:54):
William Dafoe, which is really work. But there's more right,
Who else do we have? Now? We've got my boy,
Killian Murphy who spells it with a C, so a
lot of people probably think it's silly and Murphy, but
I've heard him say Killian, so I'm assuming it's Killian.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
That's this one we've gotten or you've gotten correct. I
know I've gotten it wrong.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
That's pronounce it is Killian, Killian. It is, in fact Killian,
very Irish name.
Speaker 7 (05:18):
That's like my name. You don't say Sortney.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Right exactly Cortney. Oh, very good, honey, that's right. That
is a very good point. Courtney's maybe Irish Irish one
is very good. I'm learning today about my wife.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
That's also the first time you said Courtney without going.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Carney Barney exactly somebody else. I like to leave Schreiber
now his first name. I'm I'm sure I'm butchering it.
What does he say, Hello, I'm Lib Schreiber, Liev. It's
Leev Liev Schreiber, Liev Schreiber. Yes, that sounds much more.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
I mean like he's been pretty clear about that, but
everyone just messes it up because.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
You want to say it quick. Yeah, I want to
say it quick. So one more Timothy Chalomey? Are we
mispronouncing Chalamee because there's no way we get Timothy wrong.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
It's supposed to be.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
You're tim You know what's doing that? He's going way
to tim.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
And my name was Timoteo, Timoteo. Yeah, we had to
go buy Spanish names.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
From now on. I'm Mario Lopez and you are Courte Matza.
Speaker 7 (06:20):
Are you calling me by my maiden names that you're.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
Not your Courtney Lopez?
Speaker 5 (06:25):
Good?
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Yes, more Mario Lopez coming up?
Speaker 2 (06:29):
Mario Courtney Lopez here. Today's guest is a three time
Emmy nominated singer and songwriter. Taylor Swift thinks he's underrated,
and you just tied the knot with a lifelong friend.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
It's Charlie Pooth and now he's making the jump to
TV and we'll find out all about it after a
few more songs.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Borrow.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Mario Lopez joined me now on Zoom from the new
Roku project, The Charlie Pooth Show Grammy nominated artist. Mister
Charlie Pooth. Welcome to the show man.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
How you been I'm I've been good. How about that title?
I'm really creative.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Hey, I like it man. Congratulations. Well, first off, before that,
congrats on the wedding.
Speaker 5 (07:04):
Oh yeah, thank you. Yeah, it's flying by. I can't
believe it was already like a couple of weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
So I'm assuming you haven't had a chance to honeymoon yet.
Speaker 6 (07:14):
No, we did. We did it. I tried.
Speaker 5 (07:16):
We tried to go under the radar for as long
as we could. I didn't want the world to find
out about the wedding. But we released it early since
I think my own neighbors tried to like leaked it
to demois or something. That is what I heard, so
why not share it early?
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Yeah? Well, congratulations man. That's great. And you and your
wife knew each other for a long time, right.
Speaker 5 (07:38):
Yeah, so her father and mother are actually best friends
with my mom and dad.
Speaker 6 (07:43):
They've known each other since they were ten years.
Speaker 5 (07:46):
Old, so it's almost it's on paper looks like an
arranged marriage, but it just isn't.
Speaker 6 (07:51):
It's it's a match made in heaven.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Your parents must be so happy. That's so cool.
Speaker 6 (07:56):
Yeah, they really were all we're all just related right now.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
I've that. Oh that's awesome, brother. Congratulations, welcome to the club.
It's wonderful. Well, I want to talk about your new
TV show, but first let's play some music. You're all
Mario Lopez. My guest today is Charlie Pooth and coming
to Roku Friday, Charlie Pooh Show. What's it about?
Speaker 5 (08:16):
It's about it's kind of an exaggerated take on my life,
and it makes me realize how long I've been in
the music industry and the entertainment industry. And there are
episodes about executives telling me what something should look like,
what something should sound like. Yeah, but it's it's it's
(08:39):
the truth is stressed just a little bit. But that
actually happens in my career. I got signed and there
were a lot of people who told me what they
wanted me to sound like. But you always know what's
best for you, so I like it.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
I'm getting the impression it's a little Curb your Enthusiasm.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
Esque where, yeah, that's the obvious, that's the O nod,
But it's really awesome.
Speaker 6 (09:02):
Have you ever seen Naked Gun before? Lauren Nelson?
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Wait, that's real over the top.
Speaker 6 (09:08):
It's I like.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
Over the top though, and there's some realness in this show,
but obviously I'm not I've never cosplayed as a country singer.
Speaker 6 (09:19):
I've collaborated with country singers.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
One episode, I decided to take on country music, but
I'm not actually wearing the cowboy hats.
Speaker 6 (09:27):
That's the easiest way to describe it.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Got it well. You can see the Charlie Pooh Show
starting Friday on Roku. Hold on, Charlie got to take
a break away.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
To talk some more more fun on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Mario Lopez hearing and I'm with Charlie Pooth, who kicks
off his new TV show this Friday on Roku. You
doing a lot of performing on the show.
Speaker 6 (09:45):
An he's singing not I.
Speaker 5 (09:47):
Mean, there's but like comedy. It's really as I wanted
to separate it from the album that I'm literally working
on right over here, and I really wanted to have
one day this album come out and then have something
like this, which is almost downright theater like, and have
(10:08):
them both play off each other even though they're two
completely separate things.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
It's great, man, We'll good for you. Watch the Charlie
Pooh Show Friday on roco Let's Play More Music Mario
Lopez here, I got Charlie Pooth on Zoom with me
and speaking to music latest single hero, What inspire in
this particular song.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
It's just that was just of something that I had
to get out at the time because one of the
biggest artists in the entire world said that that I
should be a bigger artist, which I took as a
big compliment. Yeah, and I was like, you know what
this isn't this song isn't tied to any album or anything,
(10:45):
but it's not even done one on.
Speaker 6 (10:47):
I just I just put it out just to hold.
Speaker 5 (10:49):
Everybody over so I can get everybody ready for like
what's really really common night. This has been a crazy,
crazy part of the year. It's really it's really amazing.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
You're all Mario Lopez hanging out here with Charlie Pooth
and we're a few months away from the tenth anniversary
of your breakthrough single Marvin Gay. Did things just totally
changed for you after that song came out? Was it
dramatic or was it like a build?
Speaker 6 (11:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (11:17):
I think one of my first interviews was with yourself,
Maria for that song.
Speaker 6 (11:22):
Yeah, that's right. I can't believe it's been Wow. Has
it really been ten years?
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (11:28):
By huh.
Speaker 6 (11:30):
That's a trip, man.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
I feel like I just got signed to my record
deal yesterday.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
And how is the industry changed, would you say in
those ten years? In your opinion?
Speaker 5 (11:40):
I think it's kind of and I do touch on
this point in the show too. It's kind of like
the overall theme of it. You have to not just
be a musician nowadays. I mean, any artist is inherently
an artist, but it's important to have aspirations to do
other things that can kind of aid in your music
(12:03):
making process, like for me making a TV show. I
remember seeing an interview with Billy Joel and a lot
of other artists when they had to start making music videos.
And Billy Joel was happy to do it. But there
are some other artists that were like, we gotta be
actors now and we got to make music videos.
Speaker 6 (12:21):
We should just make the music.
Speaker 5 (12:22):
I always thought that was the I mean, I wasn't alive,
but I always thought that was like the wrong approach.
It's like, you should want to make a visual component
to music. That you're right, So, but yeah, I think
artists have to spin a lot of plates nowadays, but
not in like a super thirsty way.
Speaker 6 (12:39):
They should want to be able to do it.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Well, you have the personality to pull it off, So
congrats on that.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Man.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Well, I got one more thing I want to ask you.
We've got to take a little break. I'm gonna wrap
it up with Charlie Pooth in just a moment.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
We hear the full interview now on with Mario dot Com.
More Mario Lopez on the Way.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
Mario Lopez here wrapping things up with today's guest, Charlie Pooth.
Last question, Halloween around the corner? You still dress up?
If so, what are you gonna be this year?
Speaker 5 (13:03):
No one wants to see me dress up. And I
always seem to be working on every holiday. I even
think for my birthday, I'll be in I'll be touring
somewhere in Asia at the end of the year.
Speaker 6 (13:15):
If I were to dress.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
Up, I I what you're wearing now, that's what I'll
dress up.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
You're going casually, bums. I dress I dress up more
as an adult than I ever did as a kid.
Now really yeah, because I have to for work and stuff.
And then I'll get into you know, uh, just with
with my kids and stuff. So it's got a fun.
Now it's kind of fun. You'll see, you'll get back
into it when you have kids. Do you want kids?
Speaker 6 (13:43):
I do.
Speaker 5 (13:43):
I definitely do, and I and I And I'm sure
you're in a good neighborhood with some trick or treating,
So a good excuse.
Speaker 6 (13:50):
For me to eat a bunch of racist peanut butter cups.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Yeah, exactly, that's mine. Go to right there. Well again,
congrats on everything and listen be sure to watch Charlie
Poohs show now on Roku. Charlie, thanks for hanging man.
Hope to see you in person.
Speaker 6 (14:04):
Absolutely, Thank you. Mario, you got to agree with lads.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
Jui Lopez, You're and My Wife Courtney, and family movies
continue to rule the box office in twenty twenty four.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
This past weekend, the Wild Robot led the way with
thirty five million dollars. The new Francis Ford Coppola movie
was not so fortunate. Unfortunately, it only made four million,
after Coppola spent one hundred and twenty million of his
own money to fund it.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Well, I'm not surprised by the Wild Robot family movies.
I've been killing it all year, but man, only four million.
In the reviews, well they have, they've ranged from to
be great. You have to take a risk, and this
was certainly a risk and maybe appreciated later on, which
is a nice way of saying, Okay, maybe we'd I
don't get it. But then a lot of them were saying,
(15:01):
this is just god awful. And you would think a
director who's known for making one of the greatest movies
of all time and Godfather and Apocalypse now all these
other great movies would maybe not take such a bold
risk this late, or maybe because he has the history
he did take a risk. But man, I don't care
how much money you got. You spend one hundred and
(15:23):
twenty of.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
Your own Allegedly he has four hundred million. Well less
than that now, but.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Still that's a lot of money to lose. That's a
lot of big money to lose. That is a big chunk.
That's wild, Yo, Mario Courtney Lopez, time for your comments.
What you got for us today?
Speaker 6 (15:38):
Honey?
Speaker 3 (15:39):
This is from at Laura Lacrue and she said, I
don't care what airline we're on, I never eat the
airplane food in general.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Well, Laura Lacrue may be referring to something I posted
where on Air India there was a person that got
sick because they were eating an omelet that was filled
with roaches and they eat had pictures to show for it.
Note to self, don't fly air India because that was wild.
(16:09):
Can you imagine? I actually kind of like airplane food.
Speaker 7 (16:12):
This airplane food is disgusting. Really, I never com any
of it. The only thing I will ever.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
Eat them the warm up nuts are really good bread.
Why don't we warm up nuts in general? We only
get them on a plane. Do it at home? Because
warmed up nuts on a plane are so good? Why
would you?
Speaker 4 (16:31):
How would you do it at home?
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Micro put a microwave, put them in.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
The microwave because they're disguising something, they're killing something.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
I think it's a solid move. We should start incorporating.
I think we don't do that or appetizing. When I
get some warm nuts and then the couldrin, it's like
I'll devour and always ask the more. They're so good
on Twitter, On with.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Mario and hang on more, Marial Lopez on the West.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
To Mariow Courtney Lopez, You're coming to Hulu on Monday
twenty four iHeart Radio Music Festival. If if you missed
it live, here's your chance to catch all the epic performances.

a monumental. It drops on Hulu October seventh, So set

star Charlie Demilio at the Broadway. She's gonna make her
debut on the Great White Way next month in the
musical and Juliette.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
It's a modern spin on the Shakespeare classic with a
soundtrack of Max Martin Hitch. She'll playool chairman, who has
a dance heavy role and she's a great dancer, though
she'll first hit the stage on October twenty ninth.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
Nice, you're all Mario Courtney Lopez's bloods and candles on
today's birthday. And we're gonna try to guess the ages quickly.
Captain Marvel herself.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
Also she was taking hostage in room Brie Larsen.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Brie is, Bree is forty three, Brie great cheese is
and she was great in the room. By the way,
that was a disturbing movie.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
It really was thirty eight thirty five, Okay from National
Lampoon's Vacation Reveim Randy Quaid sixty nine.
Speaker 7 (18:13):
He Randy is.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
Sixty eight seventy four and the original Mary Poppins Julie Andrews.
Speaker 7 (18:24):
Julia Andrews, she's seventy six.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
Eighty three, eighty nine. Whoa.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Mario Lopez will be right back.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
While Courtney Lopez here, we find something to celebrate every day.
What is today's holiday, honey?
Speaker 7 (18:39):
It is a National hair Day.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
Shout out to the leg First of all, I should
be off of work today. There should be no form
of employment that I am participating in because it is
national holiday. You know the thing about hair If you
have it. You're blessed. So I feel very blessed, especially
at my age, to still have it. You say you
(19:03):
don't like it when it's high, it's because I want
to show off that I still have it. Honey, Great,
Mario Courtney Lopez. Here, we got your first book of
the new movie from Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana. It's
called Emilia Perez.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
It's a musical about a lawyer who has to fake
the death of a cartel leader. Netflix is hoping that
it generates some attention from the Oscars, hopefully not the cartel.
It comes out on November thirteenth, but you can see
the trailer now at I'm with Mario dot Com.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
Y're Mario Courtney Lopez. Time to learn a new live act.
What is the topic today at Courtney's corner?
Speaker 7 (19:35):
Honey, Moving something I don't ever want to do again.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
It is a pain in the butt.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
It is.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
It doesn't matter if you're moving across the street or
across country. You're still moving.
Speaker 6 (19:44):
It's pain.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
But well, here's a trick I learned from TikTok on
how to get free supplies. We like anything free, right,
So you order your moving boxes from Walmart dot Com,
but purchase them one at a time. They'll each come
in their own shipping box filled with those plastic air
pillows to protect them in transit. Now you'll have twice
as many boxes as you ordered and some packing stuffing
(20:07):
to protect fragile items.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
It's a shady move.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
But I like it.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
I like it because it'll go a long way and
will really help out a lot.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
Nice more Mario Lopez on the.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
Way, yamar and Courtney Lopez. Time now for one last thing.
Tributes are pouring in for a couple of fallen icons.
Actor and country legend Chris Christofferson passed away over the
weekend at the age of eighty eight. He won three
Grammys in his career and won a Golden Globe for
the nineteen seventy six version of A Star Is Born.
He was a good actor and a good singer songwriter.
(20:41):
Also served in the military, which I recently learned, I
mean really a renaissance man.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
Well.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Meanwhile, actor John Ashton passed late last week at the
age of seventy six. He appeared in dozens of movies
and television shows, including the Beverly Hills cop movies, Midnight
Run One of your favorites and most recent All Happy Family.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
You're right, Midnight Run is one of my all time
favorite movies, and Beverly Hills Cop too in the original.
He did the reboot. Yes, Axel f and ah yeah uh,
that's sad to hear. He was a very talented guy.
You can see what friends and colleagues are saying about
him at allwomarrio.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
Dot com More Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
All right, it's time to pass the mikes, but we're
back tomorrow to just out some common sense justice in
Courtney's court and.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
Catch you up on all the latest Hollywood buzz. Until then,
this is Mario and Courtney Lopez saying good night
Speaker 1 (21:36):
With Mario Lopez
