Speaker 1 (00:00):
Real fun with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Happy New Year officially twenty twenty five, your old memorial,
Courtney Lopez. A lot of fun stuff to get into
as we kick off the new year. Gray's Anatomy stars
Jessica Capshaw and Camilla Luddington are going to be zooming
in later with the Scoop on their new Call It
What It Is podcast.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Well, squeeze in a pop culture pop quiz, see what's
trending in the buzz, and serve up some justice in
Courtney's court. So let's waste no time and let's get
the fun started.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
Tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Courtney Lopez. So I posted this the other day and
tag my sister. It said, they give you two hundred million,
but your sister gotta go to jail for a year.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
What would you do?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
I responded, Oh, she's going to jail, but when she
gets out, she's gonna have a one hundred million waiting
on her. And my sister took offense to that and said,
you're so mean. Why would she take a fit? I said,
I just got you. One hundred million dollars a year
is nothing. I would happily go for a year. One
hundred million substantial amount of money. The real question becomes,
you're foolish if you don't for a year. Seriously, anybody

(01:01):
here would not would know. I would literally be on
a plane right now to turn my sister in.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
No, I'm talking about what you would do it yourself,
even if you could do it.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
I would stage a crime to turn my to make
my sister.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Yeah, but even make it by yourself.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
You would do a year with two hundred million or
a hundred million.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
So the real question becomes I think everyone would. The
real question would becomes how low would you go?

Speaker 4 (01:22):
What would be the number to go a year?

Speaker 2 (01:24):
I would do it for fifty million.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Would you do it for fifty million?

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (01:28):
Or something?

Speaker 4 (01:28):
The year in jail at your prison.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Yes, I don't think I go. I don't think I
go below fifty million.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
So forty million, you're not doing it. See it. It's
interesting that its getting in think I got homies?

Speaker 2 (01:40):
My line is thirty seven million, I got homies.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
That'd be like what one point two? I'm there?

Speaker 2 (01:46):
I would go lower. More fun on the way on
with Mario Lopez.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Mario Courtney Lopez, here was some quick buzz for you.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
The Netflix show Beef is coming back for season two. Yay,
we love the first season. They've got a whole new
cast this time.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
Boo, it's going.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
To star oscar Isaac and Carrie mull again.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
I like both of them. That's cool.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
I do like both of them. But we really like
the first cast too.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
But we also love White Lotus and that's a different
cast every year. Apparently, the setting will be an elite
country club where a boss gets into an alarming fight
with his wife.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Ali Wong is staying on as executive producer.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
The first season one eight Emmys, including Outstanding Limited Series.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I think Ali Wong should just do.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Like a cameo or something.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
She was great in that. Oh, I like that.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
This is going to be a White Lotus type show
with a similar premise but with different casts.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
Oh that's Oh, that's going to be good. Mario Lopez.
Here are some quick buzz for you.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Young people say they want TV and movies to keep
it in the friend zone. Sixty three percent of viewers
under twenty four they'd rather watch content about platonic relationships.
The trends even bigger than a year ago, when the
same study found about fifty to fifty split on explicit entertainment.
Well as a father to a teenage daughter. This is

(03:00):
fantastic news. I don't know if it's coming from a
spiritual place or a scared place, but whatever place that's
coming from, I'm here for it, yo, Mario.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
Lopez, Time to get into your comments. Would you find
no I mentions?

Speaker 2 (03:15):
This is from at Kim Kim ninety nine.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Did you have chores at home when you were growing up?

Speaker 2 (03:20):
I imagine that's why you're successful today. Not only did
have chores at home, you weren't allowed to just kick
back and watch TV.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
At my house, no downtime.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
My dad did not like that I had. I always
used to like the vacuum I thing. I've said it before.
I like to do the lines.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
Vacuuming was my OCD. By the way, Yeah, that is
my OCDA.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Vacuuming was my go to and my mom would just
have us do some stuff. But I couldn't just kick
back and watch TV. I could maybe for one day,
but if I had fun that day, then I wasn't
allowed to have fun the next day because then my
dad would put me to work. And anybody who spend
the night one night, that's it. After that he'd start
putting them to work, so nobody stayed at.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Night and wanted to come over.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
So no, that's why I think I'm always on go,
because I don't know how to relax. Yeah, my dad
never gave us a shot.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
He instilled it into you so young.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
More Mario Lopez on the way music rolls on Mario
Courtney Lopez here quickly putting a spotlight on my wife,
who I believe has got.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
A mom joke for us.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
All right, let's hear it, such a good one.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
So sometimes I wake up grumpy, but other times I
let Mario sleep in.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Oh nice delivery. Nice delivery.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Ironically, I should have told that joke because you know,
you know.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
I don't get sleep, so I'm always grumpy.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
All right, let's get back some music on Mario Courtney
Lopez about the fire Up Zoom and chat with a
couple of actresses. So I'm Gray's Anatomy Jessica Capshaw and
Camille Levington. They've got a new podcast to tell us about.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Plus we got to ask about the Anatomy of Lies
doc and Elizabeth Finch. It's a great doc. You need
to watch it back in ten with them.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
But for some more music, Mario Lopez joining me right
now on Zoom from Gray's Anatomy actresses Jessica Capshaw and
Camilla Luddington.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
How are you, ladies? Hello, good, Thank you for taking
the time.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Now, y'all are actually best friends in real life, and
which is always cool when you when you get to
work with somebody actually, like, that's always a lot of fun,
and it inspired you to create this podcast.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Call it what it is? What's it about?

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Big quiet, very big question.

Speaker 6 (05:27):
It's an existential question. Really, No, it's about I mean,
you're exactly right, and I know that you've gotten to
work with so many of your good friends, and it
makes it so much better because you have a shorthand
with each other and you know that you're being met
with someone who's going to assume positive intent, who is
going to understand that you're on their team, and also

(05:50):
be able to maybe say some things that other people
won't and maybe because of that relationship, you have a
certain privilege with them, right, Like, It's just that it's
that it's.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
Not brutal honesty.

Speaker 6 (06:02):
It's the opposite of brutal honesty. It's kind honesty, and
it's the kind that makes you feel like you have
someone in your corner at all times. I, oh, that's where.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Yeah, we're calling it like it is with our viewer,
with our listeners, So they write into us, they share
with us their stories, their problems, and we're sort of
building out our friendship circle to include them and call
it what it is, and call it.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
What it is, all right?

Speaker 4 (06:23):
I like that.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Yeah, you're right though, because it is disarming. You can
you can be vulnerable with each other and other people
get a chance to see side of you that maybe
they haven't yet. More Gray's Anatomy is Jessica Capshawan Camila
Luddington after a quick break or Mario Lopez.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
Catching up with Jessica Capshan Camilla Luddington.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
From Gray's Anatomy The Salary. You're on Mario Lopez talking
about their new podcast. So what are some topics you're
touching on.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
We've touched on so many. We have a water ray, Mario. Well,
we've had recently joined Spooky season. We had Teresa Caputo
on the show long.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
I don't know if I've gotten I've had her on
the show numerous times. Am I God bless her? I
love her?

Speaker 4 (07:01):
Or hair gets bigger every time, no time?

Speaker 1 (07:04):
And that was an incredible Uh, that was an incredible episode.
But we've had a million guests too. We've had Beanie welteen.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
We started with Mandy Moore. We got to Davis Julian Hutt.

Speaker 6 (07:15):
At the beginning of Dancing with the Stars season, which
was very awesome.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
We had people from Gray's Anatomy like Sarah Drew.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Yeah, Kristen kind of what's going to come on? We
can talk about all the witches?

Speaker 4 (07:27):
All right?

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Well, congrats ladies. Uh, hank tight because I had something
I really want to ask right after a little more
musical a Mario Lopez chatman, Gray's Anatomy stars, Jessica Cavshan
cam you letting to in this hour and one thing
that I'm fascinated in because I saw the documentary and
I was just blown away. I know in a recent
episode you discussed former Grays writer Elizabeth Finch. Have you

(07:48):
I'm assuming you've seen Anatomy of Lives.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Wait, so I'm curious. I'm curious you watched the documentary.
What did you think about it?

Speaker 4 (07:55):
After you?

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Did?

Speaker 1 (07:56):
You watch the whole thing?

Speaker 4 (07:57):
The whole thing?

Speaker 2 (07:58):
I thought she was the most diabolical woman I've ever
seen in my life, and the fact that at least
at the end, I don't I didn't follow up, but
it's it appears like she didn't suffer any real consequences
ruining these lives, and that poor woman with the family
and all that, and I doubt her brother did that,
and then the poor guy with the vampire diaries and all.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
That, and then the staff of Grais.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
I can't even imagine being on the show and be like, Yo,
she did what Now that's gotta be That's a lot
of hard work. You're using your memory, you're lying that often.
I was blown away.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
What were your thoughts? Did y'all work with her?

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Yeah, we both did.

Speaker 6 (08:33):
So you knew herbs, yeah, and on the daily.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
And was she just she's just lying on the daily
or what? Well?

Speaker 1 (08:41):
I mean, but think about it.

Speaker 6 (08:42):
If someone is coming to you with that story and
has that kind of hardship in their life, why would.

Speaker 4 (08:47):
You question it? You're exactly why would you.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Ever be suspicious?

Speaker 6 (08:51):
Would you ever ever if they have to excused themselves
for whatever reason, all you would do, hopefully, and certainly
what we did was throw love at it, right, throw
and empathy. So it's it's you're exactly right. Diabolical sounds right,
you know, it feels. It feels and at the very least,
I mean, just from a personal standpoint, it's it's really hurtful.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
It's just diabolical.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
All right, Ladies, hank tight if you would, because I
want to get back to this first more music a
mari A Lopez about to wrap up with Jessica Cavshean
and Camille Luddington and Rai's Anatomy, but real quick getting
back to Elizabeth Finch in the Anatomy Elive doc she
was like for his gump though, and that she inserted
herself in anything that was going on, whether it was
the shooting at the synagogue, whether it was something the

(09:35):
b Tube movement with it, I'm like, yo, this this
is bunkers. When I was watching, I thought it was
so crazy.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Yeah. I think watching it in the documentary was such
a surreal, out of body experience. I was like, I
only watched the first episode. I couldn't get through the
next two. I was like sweating, And I said to
Jessica on our podcast, it felt like I was watching
myself in a dateline episode. In these dateline episodes, you

(10:02):
always think, oh my god, I would know that person's lying,
and so to watch yourself in an episode where you
feel like I really, I truly believed everything, believe everything.
She was some one I loved, and now I don't
even know who that person is.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
No, I mean, why would you question that? Like you
said earlier, of course I got a question that you're
gonna lead with love and be supportive and stuff that,
because no one's that sick to usually lie about that
sort of thing. But it was one right after another,
the relentless lies. I was like, damn, that was wild
and I was fascinated. So I started, I said, I
wonder she's on social now she's all private.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Yeah. I still have a hard time actually putting the
two together.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
I have a hard time. I have the person that I.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Knew, and then it's hard for me to imagine that
those things were a lie. Like I still't My brain
can't really quite grasp it yet.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
That is such a trip.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Well, your podcast sounds super cool, ladies.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
How often you do it? Thank you once a week or.

Speaker 6 (11:00):

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Kathy Bates going to have to put off her retirement
for at least another year. CBS is renewing Matt Locke
for a second season.

The series has one hundred percent score on Rotten Tomatoes
and seven point seven million viewers.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Mario Courtney Lopez here with details on the next big
Netflix stock. It's going to be about the Jerry Springer Show.
They're calling it Fights Camera Action. That's a great title,
and it's going to feature first hand testimony from insiders
and former guests.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
The show ran for twenty seven seasons from nineteen ninety
one to twenty eighteen, and can't believe that but had
its cultural peak in the mid to late nineties. I
want to watch this because I used to put in
my VHS to record it. You could look for it
on January seventh.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
I got to know Jerry Springer pretty well, one of
the nicest guys ever. Such a nice guy.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
You die, he did pass away.

Speaker 2 (13:00):

of common sense Justice all rise. Courtney's Court is now
in session. Today's case comes from at Carney Maria, and
she says, I can't complain about my boss except for
one thing. He dresses way too casual for business meetings.
Last week he showed up in a basketball jersey and

(13:21):
the client made a joke about it. I felt embarrassed
for him. Is it out of line to sit him
down and tell him to be more professional?

Speaker 3 (13:27):
No, you don't say anything like what do you care?
You make sure you're taken care of, you are dressed
for the part, and don't worry about him. He's obviously
doing fine. And if he's producing the work that needs
to be done, then what does it matter?

Speaker 4 (13:43):
What is the key word there is boss? It's your boss.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Then you should chill those your employee than different actions.
And if he's on a different answer slacks with the
basketball jersey, that's business casual for Mario Lopez. Coming up,
