Netflix movie Find Me fall In, mister Harry Connick Junior.
Welcome to the show, buddy. How you been good? Happen?
I'm good. I'm good. Always nice to see you, big
fan of yours you you uh. I always tell everybody
because I've been in New Orleans a few times, but
the most one I had is when I got to
(00:48):
be in your parade out there for Marty gra That's
some next level stuff. I can't believe. Every year you
take me like a month to recuper rate after that,
you're still doing that right?
Speaker 4 (00:58):
Oh yeah, so we started it. Let's see, it's been
over thirty years now. And I've missed a couple of
years just because of schedules, And I got to tell you,
as much as I miss being there, it does take
a lot out of you. So you know, I make
the most of those years off. But it doesn't happen
a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
I vet no, that's awesome and I love it with
all the family and everyone. Well, congratulations on the movie,
currently one of the biggest on Netflix. For those who
may not be familiar, explain the premise.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
Well, the film is called Find Me Falling, and it's
about this guy.
Speaker 5 (01:31):
I play a guy.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Named John Allman, who is kind of a washed up,
one hit wonder kind of guy from like the early nineties,
and he had this massive hit and he made a
bunch of bad decisions and decides he's going to sort
of get out of the rat race and move as
far away from the scene as he can. So he
goes to the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, and he buys
(01:53):
a house on this remote cliff, and very soon after
he gets there, he realizes that the cliff has a
notorious reputation and the story sort of begins there, and
it's all about him sort of reconnecting with people from
his past, and there's a bunch of you know, plot twists,
and he runs into people that he didn't think he'd
(02:14):
see there, and it's just a it's a rom com,
but it's got some.
Speaker 5 (02:18):
Serious parts to it.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
It's got some music in it because I'm playing this
guy who was this rock and.
Speaker 5 (02:25):
Roller, so I get to, you know, sing some tunes.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Nice.
Speaker 5 (02:28):
It was just a great experience, really great experience.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
That sounds right in your element right there. Find Me
Falling and streaming now on Netflix. Whole time. We got
to take a little break. We're gonna have more with
Harry Konnick in just a moment.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Happy holidays to you and yours. This is on with
Mario Lopez.
Speaker 5 (02:43):
Won'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Mario Lopez here talking about the movie Find Me Falling
with Harry Connick Junior. Now, you play a musician in
the film. Did you get to sing original music?
Speaker 5 (02:52):
I did so.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
I wrote one song, which was the hit song that
he had back in the nineties, and then the title
of the movie was actually changed to a song that
I wrote to the character called Find Me Falling.
Speaker 5 (03:05):
So, uh, you know that was nice that that that
that worked out. But so I sang two tunes or three. Really,
that's four if he considered happy.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Birthday, Hey, that that counts. That's legit, did you Well?
Speaker 5 (03:17):
I had to sing it in Greek, which was not fun.
So wait, that was a lot more than of it.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
How does that sound? How's your Greek?
Speaker 5 (03:23):
Not good?
Speaker 2 (03:24):
What is it? You don't have to sing it? But
what is it? How does it? How do you say?
Speaker 4 (03:27):
No, I couldn't have if you if you asked me
to do I couldn't do it.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
No, it's awful.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
It's like I mean, it's this beautiful ancient language.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Right, that's fuddy. Did you get to film in Cyprus?
Speaker 5 (03:39):
We did.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
We were there for about two months, so it was
it was an incredible experience.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
It's a place that I didn't.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
Know a lot about, and the people that I know
don't know a lot about it either, So it was
a great chance to kind of learn about the history
of this place. It's a it's a magnificent, magnificent part
of the world.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Well, the movie is called Find Me Falling. Hold On,
Harry got to play some more music. Pez here, My
guess is Harry Connick Junior from the Netflix film Find
Me Falling, And I see your character supporting a lot
of ink. Is any of that real?
Speaker 5 (04:07):
No?
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Man?
Speaker 5 (04:08):
You know, I was really feeling it when I was
wearing the ink because it just, you know, it was
it was cool.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
I felt very cool when so I was kind of
sad to watch it kind of fade off. But you know, progressively,
as I showered after the movie wrap, I was kind
of thinking, you know, maybe this might be my thing.
Speaker 5 (04:23):
But my wife Jill.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Was like, Nah, that's not gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
So now you're a good boy. I might get one
and I have to have to pray for you. Then
after that, yeah, baby, look.
Speaker 5 (04:34):
Get up, you know, come on, I just want something small.
Speaker 2 (04:37):

Speaker 5 (04:52):
Right? Well, we had a great time there.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
We played three nights over the July fourth weekend. There's
a lot more stuff coming up. I mean, the the
song Find Me Falling is out, but there's a lot
of new film, TV, Broadway, all kinds of stuff that's
coming up. I can't really talk about it yet because

stuff on the horizon that's going to be very exciting.

My whole thing is if you if you do it
any film and you are not willing to take out
the trash, don't do it.
Speaker 8 (17:45):

You gotta be willing to do anything. So yeah, there's
always like a little bit like a eh. But you said,
I only say yes because I know that's the case.
