Yo, Mario Courtney Lopez, Let's take a look at what's
on TV today.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Netflix debuts The Frog. A mysterious woman checks out of
a vacation rental, sparking a chain of supernatural events that
disrupt the lives of the owner and neighbors.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Frog okay.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
Apple TV has Panchinko follow a family through four generations,
starting with a woman who flees her family in search
of a better life.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Wow, Panchinko, maybe that's the last name.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
And Max has season two of The Thaw. Our Detective
investigates the murder of a young woman who seemed to
have given birth before her death, but the baby is missing.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Every dooty Mario Courtney Lopez here with big news about
next month's iHeart Radio Music Festival. We've added more superstars
to the lineup, just to announce a SAP Rocky the
Week and an a solo performance from Chris Mark.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
That's in addition to more than a dozen other artists.
It's all kicks off in exactly four weeks, and you
can still get your tickets at On with Mario dot com.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Jo Mario Courtney Lopez. Selena Gomez fans believe she's getting
ready to walk down the.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Aisle On with Mario Hollywood buzz.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
So Internet salutes out there are convinced that Benny Blanco
popped the question and Selena said yes. Every time I
say his name, I think of John Leguizamo and all
the people that are Carlito's Way fans out there. Famous
Pacino movie know what I'm talking about. He plays a
character call remember Me Benny Blanco from the Box.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Is he named after him?
Speaker 4 (01:54):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (01:54):
He named himself after that at Yes he's named himself.
He's a Jewish man with uh with not Betty Blancos's name. Okay, First,
she posted a mirror selfie with Benny, but covered up
her ring finger with a pink heart emoji. Now fans
have noticed that she started following a wedding planner on
ig Selena only follows seventy three accounts, so they think
(02:15):
it's a big deal.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
It is a big deal. I love Sleuth's I wish
I had time to investigate like them.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
What do you mean you wish you're a good style?
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Wait, I want to.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Put your mind to it. Well, you know what, she's happy.
Good for that exactly?
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Let her live more. Mario Lopez coming up?
Speaker 2 (02:32):
What are Mario Lopez here? Today's guest is one of
the biggest stand up comics in the game. It's Jim Gaffigan.
His newest movie is out today, Greedy People. But he's
also got a bit of a green thumb. We're gonna
find out all about it after a few more songs.
It's up here a Mario Lopez joining me now on zoom.
Actor and stand up comic, mister Jim Gaffigain. Welcome back, man,
how you been.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
I'm good? Thank you for having me back. Always good
to be back.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Well, thank you for taking the time. First off, I
don't know your world. Next, Lefe Gardner, I saw your harvest.
What are you gonna do with all those vegetables.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
I mostly compost them. I try and give them away,
but nobody wants any of them. I mean, you know,
like I always have these grand designs of uh, you know,
finding a food bank and stuff like that, but it's
not really that much stuff. But I try and give
them away to neighbors, and eventually people just subtly say,
(03:26):
please stop coming over here.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
I wish that I lived by you, because there's there's
nothing more tasty than homegrown vegetables. When you get a tomato,
you can eat it like an apple. It's so good
and you can really tell a difference, so so good
for you. It's a fruit, that's true. It's tomato, wizard fruit,
that's true. Well both, it's both. It kind of straddles
a fence there. Well, I want to talk to you
about your new movie, Greedy People, but we got to
(03:48):
take a little break, so let's play some music. Jaralmar
A Lopez Jim Gaffigan is on Zoom with me and
congrats on the new movie Greedy People. What's this one about?
Speaker 4 (03:59):
It's you know, it's a pretty I watched it with
my family and it's it's a it's a fun movie.
It's it's you know, it involves some murder a million dollars.
What would you do if you had the opportunity? It
really kind of analyzes what people will do to protect
(04:20):
their family or to maybe, you know, pursue a million dollars.
So it's a little all over the place, and I
don't want to give any of it away. But when
I watched it with my family and my kids are
you know, eleven to twenty, they all loved it because
it is one of those mysteries that you don't know
where it's going, which is kind of a relief. And
(04:42):
I get to play a bad guy, which is always fun.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Oh fun, That's what I was going to ask your
role in it? So you're one of the bad guys.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
All right, Yeah, I'm a bad guy.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Okay, all right, Well, greety people's in theaters. Now, let's
take a break and we're gonna have more with Jim Gaffigan.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
More Fun on the Way on with Mario Lipez.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
Mario Lopez here hanging out with Gaffagan, whose new movie
is out today, Greedy People, and also from earlier this month,
another dark comedy running on empty Who'd you plan that?
Speaker 4 (05:07):
One that is such a I play a guy who
runs a funeral home. It's a family business kind of
and you know, I play you know, I would say,
kind of just a creepy weirdo. I mean some of
it is maybe it's just so fun to go against type.
(05:30):
And there are as you as you know, you know,
it's it's fun. The more complex a character, the more entertaining.
But Running on Empty is just a bizarre film, right,
But it was a blast, and and Kiir and everyone,
you know, we just had a good time doing it.
(05:50):
And it was very total indie fair kind of like
everyone's there for the right reason. So it was a
blast fun.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Man, all right, I don't have to check out both
of those movies. Hang tight, Jim, I gotta play some
more music, Mario Lopez here. I got Jim Gaffigan on
Zoom with me. And you released your latest comedy album,
The Prisoner on vinyl? Does stand Up sound better on vinyl?
Speaker 4 (06:13):
You know? It's it's it's strange, right, the popularity of vinyl, right,
which is it's I guess because obviously it's available on
all the audio streaming platforms. But that's where we are,
is that now there is you know, people want to
(06:34):
hold something, and so I think that's led to this
reassurgence of vinyl and how important it is for people,
particularly for comedy fans, and so this special, I just
it's not a special, it's just an album. Because I
had all this material that I was not going to
use in my upcoming Hulu specials, so I wanted to
(06:57):
release an album and i'd want to so it's just
an audio version. So I thought we'll give it a whirl,
because we just consume so much stuff anyway, So yeah,
why not.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
As I said, it took me back because I remember
my dad listening to some old Richard Pryor on vinyl
when I was a kid.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
Yeah, and I think there's something about listening to comedy
on vinyl that is a piece of nostalgia. You know.
Obviously it's you know, we think of vinyl, we think
of music, but it is, uh, you know, I remember
listening to Bill Cosby and you know, Steve Martin on vinyl,
(07:39):
and I think there's just something kind of unique about
that experience.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Yeah, I think it's really cool. Well, the album is
called The Prisoner. Let's get back to music. You're al
Maria Lopez. My guess all hour has been actor in
comedian Jim Gaffigan, and you're also on tour all fall.
What are you talking about on stage these days?
Speaker 4 (08:03):
Gosh, you know, I'm trying. It's all self assignment, right,
So it's it's always interesting to kind of figure out
what I'm going to talk about. I mean, some of
it is just peeling away layers of of as I
(08:23):
learn about myself without hopefully sliding into a complete narcissist,
you know. So I'm kind of talking about how, you know,
my the things that I struggle with, Like I have
a horrible memory. You know, I'm a bad dad. You know.
Kind of the glimpses of where my writing is leading
(08:44):
is very strange and kind of it's always self effacing,
you know. I'm always kind of a little bit amazed
that I'm making it through life, you know what i mean,
I'm not really equipped for this. I'm not to be
a parent, not equipped to be a husband and so
(09:05):
and but people enjoy it, and you know, some of
it is is finding new topics. You know, this is
my I'm now working on my eleventh or twelfth hour.
So it's it's so fun because the people that come
to my shows, you know they've been multiple times, and
so the challenge, like any conversation with a friend, you
(09:27):
have to keep it fresh. You can't have the same conversation.
So it's it's fun.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Well, you can find tickets and tour dates over at
all in Maria dot Com. Hang on, Jim, gotta take
a break. We're gonna wrap it up just a moment.
Speaker 5 (09:38):
You're the full interview now on with Mario dot Com.
More Mario Lopez on the way.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Mario Lopez here wrapping things up with Jim gaff again,
who's about to put out a new stand up special
on Hulu. And I got imagine with five kids, though,
there's there's got to be endless material just with I mean,
with my three. I just it's kind of keeping me
on my toes. And there's comedy all day.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Yeah, no, it is. There is a lot of comedy.
I don't know how old your kids are, but I'm
still I tell you, the teenage years is.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
All.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
It is bizarre. It is a bizarre experience that you
won't remember me saying this, but there will come a
time when your kids are teenagers and you will be like,
oh my gosh, I had no idea because I think
we're so obviously we're filled with love and like the
(10:33):
the arrival of the children is so amazing and them
discovering the world is so brilliant. But them going through
that teenage years is insane. It is it is so
difficult for them. For you, this is a this is
a hard it's a hard time to be a teenager.
(10:54):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
You know, it really is that. I I mean, like
a lot of nieces and nephews, and you're right, all
that they didn't have as many distractions and of course
social media and all that stuff to play to factor in.
So I'm I'm bracing myself. You're you're absolutely right about
all that. Well, I'm looking forward to checking out the special,
the latest album, and congratulations on all the projects.
Speaker 4 (11:14):
My friend.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
You can watch Greedy People in theaters now, Jim, thanks
for hanging out.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
Hey, always great chatting with you.
Speaker 2 (11:34):

Courtney Lopez. Let's take a look at what's new in
(11:55):
theaters and streaming this weekend.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
The Forge. It's in theaters. A nineteen year old boy
with no plan for his future discovers God's purpose for
his life is so much more than he could have
hoped for.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Well it sounds positive, okay.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Bling Twice in Theaters, directed by Zoe Kravitz, when a
cocktail waitress falls for billionaire tech mogul Channing Tatum, she
travels with him to a private island where things begin
to mysteriously go wrong. Is that where they met?
Speaker 2 (12:20):
That is where they met. She casted him for that role.
It's got a lot of people she did pass too. Yeah,
Well then the real life too.
Speaker 4 (12:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
And he plays sort of like an Elon musk ish
type of character.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
So that's an oxymoron.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
I just interviewed Haley joel osmont Fraser's doppelganer, and he
said they were all secluded on this island, so everyone
just kind of hung out even when they weren't off
of Mexico Cha and even when they weren't filming, they
had to stay therecause it was too hard to come
back out for two months. So everybody kind of got chummy,
and maybe that's how they came close. Wait, I'm in
(12:55):
this you're in this movie? I don't remember.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
It's okay the crowds and theaters are starring Bill Skarsgard
as a murdered musician who returns from the dead to
save his girlfriend. I hope you would return to the
dead from the dead to save me.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
Yes, I didn't let anybody step in.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
Come on.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
The killer on Peacock and Alita. Sassin must team up
with the LAPD detective who is trying to catch him
to protect a beautiful singer.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Wait, I'm confused, Haul, the Assassin's got to team up
with the detectives trying to catch him to protect someone else.
I feel like there's a double cross coming.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
You gotta watch it. Incoming on Netflix. Four Freshmen navigate
the tears of adolescents at their first ever party.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Funny Funny, Mario Lopez will be right.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
Back, Jomaro Corney. Lopez got some selabs. Turning a year
older today. Let's try to guess her ages quickly.
Speaker 6 (13:44):
Scott Khan from Hawaii five to Oh Ocean's eleven, James
Kahn son, James Khan's son Khan.
Speaker 3 (13:51):

Speaker 2 (13:53):
Wow, I believe he's closer to forty eight.
Speaker 7 (13:58):
He is forty eight?
Speaker 3 (13:59):
Oh wow.
Speaker 7 (14:00):
Jmore from SNL Jerry Maguire. He does a good Christopher
walking impression.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Also married Jeanie Buss, owner of the Lakers. Oh that's right,
Such a random couple. I forgot about that. Jymore has
got to be fifty five.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
I think he's more like fifty.
Speaker 7 (14:16):
Seven fifty four, okay?
Speaker 6 (14:20):
And from Cheers And she made some appearances in Fraser
the original series.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Shelley Long, Long.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
Were the days for that show? She sixty five?
Speaker 2 (14:34):
She's not long in the tooth, so I would say
she's still sixty.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
Fun of me?
Speaker 2 (14:38):
And then you do something.
Speaker 7 (14:40):
What number did you guess? I was trying not to leave.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
Five sixty five, seventy five?
Speaker 4 (14:44):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (14:45):
All right, Shelley More.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
Mario Lopez on the way, Mario.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
Courtney Lopez here? What is secure holiday are we celebrating today?
Speaker 4 (14:51):
Honey?
Speaker 3 (14:52):
It is National Cuban Sandwich Day.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
But I love me a Cuban sandwich. What Their deal
is it's generally like ham and cheese, but they smash
their sandwiches. They don't like a puffy sandwich. They smash
them and they make a panini kind of like a beanini. Yes,
get it in there. Very tasty, so good Mario Lopez. Here,
let's take a look at what's trending on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 7 (15:15):
John Sena reveals why he hates filming sex scenes. You
can search club shayshey to hear that.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
My guy Shanny shar about here having all these interviews,
he goes viral like weekly. I think he's such a
nice guy too.
Speaker 6 (15:28):
And all right, John Cena, Darren Chris plays name that
tune with Broadway songs. You can listen to that by
searching Elvis Durant on demand.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
I'm sure he killed that.
Speaker 6 (15:37):
And Wayne Brady told us about his new son that
he also recently told his family about.
Speaker 7 (15:41):
Yeah, you can check that out by searching all with Mario.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Y All Mario Courtney Lopez ha for another fake debate
where the topics are made up on the spot, but
the passion is real. Who's prone, who's content?
Speaker 6 (15:51):
You will be pro, Courtney will be con You have
fifteen seconds make your case ten second rebuttal your topic today?
Speaker 7 (15:56):
Is Scott Peterson a pro?
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Scott Peters?
Speaker 7 (15:58):
You're a pro Scott Peters?
Speaker 3 (16:00):
Yeah, lose followers.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Scott Peterson has maintained his innocence and has never ever
admitted to guilt, which I think is admirable because he
could have knocked some time off his sentence. But he
has never said that he is guilty of the disappearance
of his wife, and for that he should be commended
in left.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Free Missus Lopez, Wow, he's a murderer, He's a liar.
He did everything. It was premeditated. There was no way
that that was not premeditated when I studied the case
back in twenty twenty.
Speaker 7 (16:40):
Mister Lopez.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Yes, he may in fact be a murderer or.
Speaker 8 (16:47):
Or and or a liar and an adulterer and someone
who has no disregard for human life however, or has
no regard for human life.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
However, I'm all about second chances. People learn from their mistakes.
Would you like to be contemned by your worst mistake
you've ever made?
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Spez he committed a silent murder because it was easy
to clean up, there was no evidence left behind. Killed
his son and his wife. He is disgusting and needs
to remain behind bars. I'm up actually upset that he
does not have the death penalty anymore.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
Cour with Mario Lopez after this?
Speaker 2 (17:23):
What a Mario Lopez here and Nile horn Drop and
not one, but two live albums. First one comes out
next Friday. It's called The Show Live from Madison Square
Garden from his shows earlier this summer. Then on September fifth,
we get The Show Live on Tour, which includes performances

to take congrats to Ashanti and Nelly. She's announced the
birth of her first baby. It is a boy, Kareem
Kencaid Hayes.

Congratulations. That's very cool. You can check it out omaya
dot com. You're al Maria Lopez. And before we take
off for the weekend, we're going to give you the
final word with our comment of the week.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
What do we got?
Speaker 6 (18:11):
This is from at Aisha made It. Instagram should have
a feature where you get ten minutes of access to
view private accounts.
Speaker 7 (18:17):
If they're an x or went.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
To high school with you, well at Ayisha made it.
If it is private, yeah, well that that would defeat
the whole purpose. If you have a feature to hack
private accounts. But for those that aren't private accounts, you
can always stock your ex You got to be careful though,
not to slip Alke in there. You slip alike in there,
then your whole cover is born.
Speaker 7 (18:36):
And quick note, if you're watching stories, they can see
you saw it.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
That's well, they can see you saw it only if
they follow you.
Speaker 7 (18:42):
Otherwise they weren't true.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
That's true if they don't follow you, so you have
to check if they follow you. If they don't, then
you're good. If they do, then you better not.
Speaker 6 (18:50):
Maybe maybe a feature that if someone has a private
account and they follow you, you automatically.
Speaker 7 (18:56):
Get to see their account.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
That sounds fair.
Speaker 5 (18:59):
I want to be at the twee of the week
tweet us on with Mario and hang on because Mario
Lopez we'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
All right, We're out here full steam ahead in to
