Mario on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Here we go Friday edition of the show. Actually Black
Friday Edition would be more specific. Mario and Courtney Lopez
Here loves to get to including two awesome guests, Joss
Stone zooming in to talk new music in just a bit.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Plus a little later we'll talk to the star of
Inside Out, to Kensington Tomman. She's going to join us
and we'll catch up on some buzz, get to a
fake debate, and more so, turn it up.
Speaker 4 (00:24):
You guys are on with Mario and Courtney Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
And Mario Lopez joining me on zoom. Singer, songwriter and
actress Joss Stone. Welcome to the show. How are you.
Speaker 5 (00:35):
I'm very well. Thank you so much for having me.
It's lovely to.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Be likewise, thank you for taking the time. Congratulations on
the new single loving You Love the Groove Here. What
was the inspiration behind the song?
Speaker 5 (00:48):
Oh gosh, okay.
Speaker 6 (00:49):
So I just started dating my now husband Cody. We
were only a couple months in and basically I learned
very quickly he is not a night out at all
and I am a big time night out. So the
song goes on it says things like you know, I've
lit a fire for you, and I'm trying to think
(01:10):
of ways to keep you here because I love you
and you just basically what happened was Cody fell asleep,
I went upstairs and wrote the song.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
So it worked out.
Speaker 5 (01:20):
Yes, it did work out. It worked out perfectly.
Speaker 6 (01:23):
So I've sort of been sat on it for a bit,
so I thought, Hey, let's let the world hear it nice.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
And is it just a one off single or do
you have new music and works.
Speaker 6 (01:32):
It's just a one off and I'm working on more
for next year. I'm in a bit of a disco
vibe right now, which is not the vibe of this single.
Speaker 5 (01:39):
But we'll see.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
I'll see what I love me a disco vibe. I
know you dropped your first live album earlier this summer,
twenty years of Soul. You took a minute to make
a concert album.
Speaker 5 (01:51):
Uh, yes, I did. I took twenty years.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
I saw.
Speaker 5 (01:57):
I was too nervous.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
It's live, I know.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
Oh my god, I couldn't.
Speaker 6 (02:02):
Possibly, but the fans had kept asking for it. It's
lovely nowadays because you can actually know what the fans
want because they'll literally tell you right.
Speaker 7 (02:11):
So that was a wonderful thing. But then I was like, Okay,
well now I've got to do it. So we just
recorded the whole, like everything that we did that year,
we recorded it all, and then I just really the
last couple of weeks with the bits that we used,
and we just picked songs from each content that we
thought were.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
Great and it's so lush. I'm so glad we did that.
I really am.
Speaker 6 (02:33):
I really am.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Well, you can listen to twenty years of soul and
iHeartRadio or wherever you get new music. We got more
to talk about. We got to take a break hold on.
We got more with Joss Stone.
Speaker 8 (02:41):
Coming, more details and on with Mario touch on, Happy
holidays from the entire on with Mario fam more fest.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
And fun coming up.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Mario Lopez, You're got Joshstone on zoom with us, and
I know you're currently on the road for the US
leg of your World tour. How's that gone?
Speaker 5 (02:58):
It's very good. Oh, we had a lovely gig last night,
such lovely beep out here.
Speaker 6 (03:02):
I have to say the American audiences are amongst the
most fun because you guys have brilliant woofs.
Speaker 5 (03:14):
Yes, what is a rule?
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Off?
Speaker 5 (03:17):
I walk out and you guys are like, whoo.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Oh off.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
If that's funny, that's funny. We're known for Yes, okay,
I see that. Yeah, if you can get, if you
have a good woo off, it's gonna it's gonna start
things off right. The energy is gonna be there, right.
I gotta imagine you need you need a good woo off.
I agree. I am partial to a good woof always,
So hold on, Jos, gotta place more music right now,
(03:46):
Mario Lopez, you're Josh Stone who is touring the US
as we speak. So do you do any surprise covers
in the set list? I'm always interested in hearing.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
Yes, I do, Okay.
Speaker 6 (03:55):
So the disco vibe sort of turned up because of
my door to Violet. She's three now, okay, but I
realized when she was just turning one that she loved
to dance. So I've just decided I need that to
be part of my world so she'll like what I do.
So we've made a piece of the show all about that.
So there are covers in there and everyone sings along.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Nice is I mean we want.
Speaker 5 (04:20):
The funk makes a little bit of a moment, which
is great, that's right, And it's just so much fun,
a bit of shaka. Oh, I love it. It is great.
That's the best part of the show.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Well, tickets and tour days to Josh Stone's Ellipsis tour
or up at on my dot com. Right now, we
got to play some more music. Jo Mario Lopez hanging
out with Josh Stone and I can't believe this, but
it's been twenty years since your first single, fell in
Love with a Boy. What do you remember about that
song originally?
Speaker 5 (04:48):
Well, I remember originally it was fell in Love with
a Girl. The White Stripes and.
Speaker 6 (04:55):
So Questlove played on that and he was in the
music video, my first music video I ever did.
Speaker 5 (05:02):
And I was very, very nervous. I was nervous for
like the first five years of my career.
Speaker 6 (05:07):
I think I be'st Love saying to me, you know,
never meet your heroes, whoever it is that you love,
don't meet them.
Speaker 5 (05:15):
I was like, what are you talking about.
Speaker 6 (05:16):
He was like giving me all this advice, like really serious,
serious advice, and I was like, oh, what's happening. He
was like a granddad in a way, and he's not
that much older than me, but he'd had so much
more experience.
Speaker 5 (05:29):
But it was great.
Speaker 6 (05:30):
It was really good dealing with him and having him
to teach me, just for those moments. Yeah, and then
we went to a White Strikes concert just after it
had come out, and oh my goodness, they had basically
slowed down their version of the track because they liked
(05:51):
what we did with it.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
So I was like, this is such a condliment. Yes, Like,
oh my god, they like it.
Speaker 6 (05:58):
They were so kind and lovely. It was a very
It was a very good time because I was so young.
Everyone was just so sweet.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Tear with me.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Yeah, it was nice. Oh that is nice. Well, one
more thing I want to ask you, but we've got
to take a break. I'm gonna wrap it up with
Joss Stone in just a moment when.
Speaker 8 (06:14):
You're the full interview now at On with Mario dot Com.
Happy Holidays from the entire On with Mario Fair or
Festive fun coming up.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
Mario Lopez here rappid things up with today's guest Joss Stone.
And you mentioned one of your children. You have two, correct,
what are what are their ages?
Speaker 6 (06:29):
So Violet is three and a half and Shack is
a year and nine months.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
Shack's okay, So you babies right there? Do you bring
them on the road.
Speaker 5 (06:38):
With you or I did.
Speaker 6 (06:40):
And the last trip in Europe that we just did,
I did not bring them the first time, and it
was I didn't really like that.
Speaker 9 (06:50):
Yeah, I know, it's je.
Speaker 6 (06:53):
For the first week, I had like these tears behind
my eyes, like they were always there.
Speaker 5 (06:59):
And then and after a week.
Speaker 6 (07:01):
I was talking to them on FaceTime and stuff, I
realized that they did not care.
Speaker 9 (07:06):
They were fine.
Speaker 6 (07:08):
They were like laughing and they weren't like they were fine.
So I like a weight was lifted and I said, Okay,
it's okay. I just make my tours really short now.
I took two weeks only, and it's fine. And actually
it's better that they're not here because I can sleep right.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Yeah, no, exactly, it is exactly.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Well.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
You seem to have a great balance with the family
and everything. That's awesome. Congratulations and I appreciate you taking
the time today, Jos and listen. Tickets and tour dates

with The topics are made up on the spot, but
the passion is very real, all right. Who's pro Who's
con I think I'm pro.
Speaker 9 (08:46):
This, y Yeah, you are pro. Mario will be conn.
Speaker 10 (08:49):
You'll have fifteen seconds to make your case. Our ten
second rebuttal afterwards. Your topic today is a piece of audio.
It's an attempt to cover song.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
That's good.
Speaker 9 (09:05):
Come on, that's fa. You were pro this cover, you
were against this cover?
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Wow, honey, pro go.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
You know what, With the music that's out there today,
we are fantabulous.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
I mean, we are amazing. I would buy that CD.
Speaker 9 (09:19):
Let's get physical, mister Oz.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Well, all I know is we have some real shady producers.
I thought this was a safe space. Evidently not. I
didn't think we were actually being recorded. That is not
our best, definitely not our best, and we can deliver
so much better.
Speaker 9 (09:36):
For the record. Your shady producers also in that, missus Lopez.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
I feel like we are in such a safe space
right here that we can be ourselves and it's very great.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
You know, I thought we were in a safe space,
but apparently that's not the case. We could have done
a much better performance. I think we need should we
redo it right? We need to redo it now, right now?
Speaker 4 (10:08):
Say it? Don't man.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Stupid, you know what I hate you guys.
Speaker 8 (10:16):
Let us know what you think on Twitter and on
with Mario. Happy Holidays from the entire on with Mario.
Fam more fest and fun coming up.
Speaker 9 (10:25):
Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Here was some quick buzz for you. Seth MacFarland and
Family Guy are getting into the Christmas spirit. They've lined
up a holiday special called Gift of the White Guy.
Stewie will have to change his ways after he finds
out that he's on Santa's Naughty List. Not a shocker.
Peter will have to recover his wife's jewelry that he
gave away as a white Elephant gift.
Speaker 9 (10:45):
And a special appearance by Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
You know what you never know what aut Mario Lopez.
Here Blake Shelton hoping to add a new classic to
the Christmas canon. If you go see the movie The
Best Christmas Pageant Ever this weekend, you're gonna hear his
rock and version of go Tell It on Him.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
Tell It all the.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Hues and everyway, Go tell It on the Mountain right
their little spiritual gam I Like It. Christmas has been
good to Blake too. Five years ago he and Gwen
recorded You Make It Feel Like Christmas, which now has
more than thirty one million spins on YouTube. Tmar Lopez
Vogue trying to cheer us up for the holidays with
a new list the best Christmas Towns in the USA
(11:29):
for a dose of holiday cheer. All right, what do
we got?
Speaker 10 (11:32):
Woodstock, Vermont, blanketed with snow and tons of festive. To core,
Woodstock is the quintessential New England Christmas town.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Not to be confused with Woodstock, New York Woodstock.
Speaker 9 (11:42):
Right, Vermont very different.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Well, Vermont is so cold.
Speaker 9 (11:46):
It just seems like it's always Christmas.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
Right, it was Christmas and Vermont. Wasn't that movie?
Speaker 9 (11:51):
I think it was, uh, Solving California.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Solving California. That's about an hour outside here of La.
That's a little Dutch town.
Speaker 9 (11:59):
Yeah, Danish immigrant founded it.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
Charming town. Used to go there a lot back in
the day.
Speaker 10 (12:04):
People say it's a storybook town. Booth Bay Harbor, Maine.
It's hard to throw a stone in Maine without hitting
a charming small town, and this one is exactly that.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Yeah, those are East Coast towns, especially where it gets
really really cool. That I gotta imagine, it's like you walked
into a snow globe.
Speaker 9 (12:21):
Speaking of cold, one more Jackson Wyoming.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Oh Jackson, Wyoming just sounds we need to shoot a
Christmas movie that Happy.
Speaker 8 (12:28):
Holidays from the entire on with Mario fam more fest
and fun coming up.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Mario Courtney Lopez, you are very excited to me today's guest.
She's a voice actor in the biggest movie of the year,
Inside Out Too.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
It is Kensington Tallman, who plays Riley, the girl at
the center of the movie, who is experiencing all these
new emotions. We'll get to know her later after a
few more songs.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
It's up Brown Morio Lopez joining me now on Zoom
from Inside Out to actress Kensington Tellman, Welcome to the show.
How are you.
Speaker 11 (13:10):
I'm doing so good. How about you?
Speaker 2 (13:12):
I'm doing well, Thanks for asking. Way from originally, Kensing say,
I'm kind.
Speaker 12 (13:18):
Of from all over. I'm in New York City right now.
I'm doing some press. I was raised in New York
City for five years, and then I moved to Los
Angeles for another five years, and then about a month ago, I.
Speaker 11 (13:31):
Just moved to San Diego.
Speaker 12 (13:33):
So I'm kind of from all over, but I would
consider myself a city girl at heart.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
And is that because your father's job or work or
why are the travel.
Speaker 11 (13:43):
Yeah, my dad got a new job.
Speaker 12 (13:45):
He's in real estate, and so he just kind of
bounces around to you know, different jobs, and that takes
us to new and exciting places. So I've had, you know,
such an incredible childhood, and I've really been able to
live in the most amazing cities.
Speaker 11 (13:58):
But I will say I think.
Speaker 12 (14:00):
New York is just such a special place, and I
love New York so much.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
No, I agree, very cool. See San Diego my hometown.
Great town out there too.
Speaker 11 (14:09):
Oh, I love San Diego. We just moved there and
it's just so beautiful.
Speaker 12 (14:13):
It's you know, it's very beachy, and everyone is very
relaxed and laid back, and it's a really nice change
of pace, I will say, from the city, which I
do like.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
Very cool. Well, I want to talk inside out too,
but right now it's place more music. You're all Mario Lopez.
My yesterday is actress Kensington Tallman, and congratulations on all
the success with in c too. I imagine you were
a fan of the original absolutely so.
Speaker 12 (14:38):
When I had first moved to New York City, I
was six years old and I didn't know anyone at
the time. I was really missing my family, and I
was kind of in this awkward stage. And so on
my sixth birthday, I went to see the first Inside
Out and I didn't realize how relatable Riley was to me,
and I didn't realize that I would be like full
(15:00):
in tears when I left the theaters. And Riley has
just been such a pivotal part of my childhood and
I feel like has really been there for me through
each stage of growing up. And I feel like she
represents the human experience and kind of everything that we
go through as humans and adolescents, and so to be
(15:21):
able to play her now as a teenager is just
so special. And I'm so thankful that you know, Pixar
and Disney and trusted me with this role. I've had
the most incredible time working on it.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
I bet they do such an awesome job of balancing
O thank too adult sort of humor for the parents
and as well as entertaining the kids. By the way,
Inside Out Too now available on Disney plus R. Let's
take a quick break and we have more with Kensington Tallman.
Speaker 8 (15:47):
We'll take happy holdays to you and yours. This is
on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
We'll be right back Laia Lopez here hanging out Kensington
Tallman from Inside Out Too. And man, what a success.
Biggest movie of the year. I mean that is so cool,
really sort of reviving the box office. Got to be
a little blown away by that, huh.
Speaker 12 (16:06):
It is wild to see how well it's doing and
how it's really resonating with audiences across the world. I
think it has such a universal theme and can not
only appeal to kids and teens, but can also appeal
to parents and adults. And I think what's really special is,
you know, for adults, they didn't really have the language
(16:26):
to process their emotions in the way that kids like
myself do now, and so they're able to process their
own emotions and then help their kids process their emotions.
Speaker 11 (16:36):
So I think it's bringing families together.
Speaker 12 (16:39):
I've talked with you know, parents, grandparents, therapist, teachers, and
each one have said, you know, how it's impacting themselves
and their families, which has been so special to hear.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Well. You can stream it now on Disney Plus. Hold On,
Kensington got to play some more music. Maria Lopez here
talking Inside Out Too with actress Kensington Tollment and imagine
they're perhaps planning a part three. Have you heard anything yet?
Speaker 12 (17:05):
I'm crossing my fingers. I think it would be so amazing.
I honestly could see an inside out three, four, five,
sixty seven.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
Why there's a lot of emotions out there.
Speaker 12 (17:15):
There are a lot of emotions, and I think it
would be cool to explore Riley as kind of a
college age student, because I think that's that's when you
go through that another period of change. I'm sixteen now,
and so I'm kind of getting close to that stage
and it's it's a little nerve wrecking. But we actually
we have a spinoff series coming out soon called Dream
(17:37):
Production where I get to play Riley again, which is
super fun.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
Oh nice, Well, good for you. You mentioned you're sixteen years old.
Do you have your driver's license yet?
Speaker 11 (17:48):
So I just got my permit the other day. Actually
I'm a little late to the game. I'm terrified, not
gonna lie.
Speaker 12 (17:58):
Just driving in itself seems really scary and I'm really
clumsy and get distracted really easy.
Speaker 9 (18:04):
So that's on the road.
Speaker 12 (18:07):
Yeah, I'm going to see a squirreld and like, you're
off the road.
Speaker 11 (18:10):
So I'm working on it.
Speaker 12 (18:12):
I have to sign up for like behind the Wheel classes.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Good luck, God bless Hopefully don't work out well right,
let's place more music.
Speaker 7 (18:21):
All.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
Mario Lopez got Kensington Tollman from Inside Out to on
Zoom with me. And you're also in the Max series
Home Sweet Home. That must have been awesome working in Italy.
Speaker 11 (18:30):
Huh oh, yes, it was so incredible.
Speaker 12 (18:33):
I filmed that in twenty twenty two and I got
to be in Rome for four incredible months.
Speaker 11 (18:39):
Oh my gosh. I love Rome so much.
Speaker 12 (18:41):
I had never been to Europe before, and I actually
speak a little bit of Italian and so I was
able to get by and communicate with the locals. And
you know, it's a music driven show. It's from the
creator of Hannah Montana.
Speaker 11 (18:53):
It has so much heart.
Speaker 12 (18:55):
And I think my character Lucy that I play is
just so relatable as well. And I feel like I
am I'm basically Lucy, and I love that. We're Actually
we're in talks with the BBC for a season two
right now, so.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
A lot of great stuff going on. I got one
more thing I want to ask, though, but we got
to take a quick break. I'm gonna come back with
Kensington Tallman in just a moment.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
You're the full interview now at On with Mario dot Com.
Speaker 8 (19:19):
Happy Holidays from the entire On with Mario, fam or
fest and fun coming up.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
Mario Lopez here wrapping things up with actress Kensington Thaman.
So when you're not working, thank you. What do you
What do you like to do? Are your what are
your hobbies?
Speaker 7 (19:33):
Yes?
Speaker 11 (19:33):
I love art.
Speaker 12 (19:34):

I love painting on the beach. That's my new thing.
Speaker 9 (19:39):
Wow.

Speaker 11 (19:47):
My dog, my rescue dog.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
Bruce Almighty, Ruse Almighty.
Speaker 12 (19:51):
Brusce Almighty. I'm a vegan, so I do some work
in the vegan community. I volunteered out of Barn for
a little bit. Love hanging out with my friend. I'm
really lucky. I have the most amazing group of friends
and we just have the best time together.
Speaker 11 (20:06):
And I just I love being with the people I love.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
That's great. Will you sound You sound like everything's going
just well for you, And that's awesome to hear. Check
out Inside Out Too, which is now available on Disney
Plus Plus Digital and Blu Ray Kensington. Very nice to
meet you. Hopefully we'll see in person.
Speaker 11 (20:25):
So nice to meet you. Thank you for having me today.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
You got it. Take care, Mario Courtney Lopez. Your spotlight
now on my wife, because it's time for Courtney's random thought.
What do you got, honey?
Speaker 3 (20:36):
You know, I was wondering why Santa doesn't go just
door to door when he's delivering presence. It's always one
house and then he gets back in the sleigh to
fly down one block.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
Yeah, he's always jetting off.
Speaker 9 (20:48):
It seems even too much gas.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
Yeah, he's not very sufficient with his time, but it
wouldn't be such a dramatic exit. I think he just
does that for the cameras. But then he goes and
he actually hits a bument. Yeah, house to house.
Speaker 9 (21:01):
Is he supposed to not be caught by cameras?
Speaker 2 (21:02):
I know that's why he's taking off. What Mario Courtney
Lopez here with a little holiday buzz for you. I
am so honored to announce that my family and I
will be appearing in the ninety second annual Hollywood Christmas Parade.
Speaker 9 (21:16):
Courtney got invited.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
I got invited.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
The bull fam is coming, and I just want to
say thank you there honoring me as the twenty twenty
