Courtney Lopez. Here. If you've got questions, comments, random thoughts,
what have you got? Send them our away would you

Speaker 3 (00:38):
This is from at al of you forever.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Oh I love you forever.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Okay, okay, Well, I'm starting to think weekends are a scam.
You spend one day exhausted and the other anxious, Like
what the hell was that? I agree you.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Know, all of you forever. A lot of European countries
feel the same way. That's why they have four day
work weeks, but we work more than any other country
in the world. If you add up all the hours,
but you have the same time on the flip side.
That's why we're the number one power maybe in the
world too.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
You know, I love you always, forever years.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
It's a different direction. Okay, Moora, Mario Lopez coming up,
You're Amoro Courtney Lopez keeping the music coming your way.
As Cordo tells us what's new on TV and streaming.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
I'm so tired. I don't even care that you call
me that. Today, Netflix as a premiere of America's Team,
The Gambler and His Cowboys, eight part Netflix documentary, and
that chronicles of Dallas Cowboys nineteen nineties super Bowl dynasty
and the role of owner Jerry Jones.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
That's a good title. Not Cowboys fan, but America's Team,
The Gambler and His Cowboys. That's a good title.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Hulu begins streaming season one of High Country, Australian drama
series where Detective Andy Whitford investigates the mysterious disappearance of
five people in the Victoria Orian High Country.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Ooh okay Anne.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Hulu also has the premiere of the new limited series
Stalking Samantha thirteen years of terror. Chained in a soundproof
box by the man who stalked her for over a decade,
Samantha must rely on her mind to survive as she
faces a brutal choice, but Christopher behind bars on lesser
charges or risk everything in the pursuit of justice. Is

(02:25):
this a true story?

Speaker 2 (02:26):
This is a scripted series.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
It is a scripted series.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
No, oh, it sounds like it could be true. Almaro
Courtney Lopez just mentioned some of the new stuff on
TV and streaming. Well, a few of our favorite artists
are also popping up on TV.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
That's right. New Devo documentary begins streaming on Netflix today.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Oh you know what song they sing?

Speaker 4 (02:45):
Whip Whip whip bit good No, no.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
No, no, So they were worthy of a whole documentary,
all right, Maybe they have other material I'm not familiar with.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Well, they have devoted fans. Then tonight, the Jonas Brothers
will be featured on NBC's Saws and Stories with Kelly Clarkson.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yeah, that's kind of cool. Artists talk about the meaning
behind their songs and they ended up writing them. I
hope Kelly starts singing their own songs, so it could
be better than the original artist.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
No doubt not.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
She just shamed them with their own music.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
I would not want her to sing. Yeah, I'll pay
you not to sing my songs, and said a reminder
for tomorrow night, def Leppard is taking the stage on
America's Got Talent.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
WHOA, that's a throwback right there. Okay, y'all marrow Courney Lopez.
Keep it the music in fun coming your way as
we make a quick pit stop into Courtney's Corner for
a fresh live act. What are we talking about today, honey?

Speaker 3 (03:38):
It's a good old bug spray.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Oh, it's that time of year for that.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
It is, and no doubt, at some point, especially during summer,
it seems like every little creature tries to find their
way into the house. Sometimes I'm like, did they only
come into our house because.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
They come in to mind ants? Especially well?

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Or the kids are leaving crumbs on the outdoor furniture
and they end up covered in ants. I'm always nervous
about using bug sprays because of what could be inside
of it, but not this one. You guys got to
check out. Amazing partner is Zevo because Zvo insect killer
sprays are safe for use around people and pets when
used as directed. This is so important.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Yeah, especially if you're living like in the South where
my sister lives in the mosquitoes and the fire ants
pterodactyls are huge out there. You don't want a bug
problem to become a big problem.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Well that's right. It's great for everyday use, so you
can't over use it. It's great for indoor and outdoor
living spaces, so that's important. It kills up to twenty
different bug types and kills on contact. ZVO contains the
same cleaning ingredient as the soaps you use on a
daily basis, and it works by using a powerful blend
of cornmint and rosemary to kill bugs from kill to

(04:46):
clean in seconds. Deadly to bugs ingredients, you know, so.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
They go out at least on a clean slate.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
And they're smelling of rosemary. There you go, all right,
we can breathe easy. We've got ZVO effective, dependable protection,
people friendly, bog deadle like that. So if you run
into a bug problem, check out ZVO.

Speaker 1 (05:07):

Yeah, it's a vegetable. I feel like carbon. That song
you sing because you sang it before, would be like
your number one single if you had like a long
standing music career.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
You should drop that. But a potato a potato, if
you think about it, it shouldn't be a vegetable because
it's it's not green, it's not leafy neither sch corn. Correct,
it's too it tastes too good. French fries from too
good usually too good.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Or not that healthy for you, unless it's a sweet potato.

Speaker 2 (06:34):

Speaker 3 (10:30):
You know, I tried to walk like an Egyptian, but
now I need a Cairo practor you know.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
That would have been funny or had you just committed,
you got to commit the delivery.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
You know EGYPTI the guy produces an entire comedy show.

Speaker 3 (10:48):

Speaker 4 (11:04):

liked hers better.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Beauty is in the eye of the behavior.

Speaker 5 (11:11):
Oh god, oh mister Courtney, Oh Maura Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Give me the music coming at shows. Remind you that
the nominations for this year's MTV VMA's are out, with
Lady Gotta leading the pack with twelve knoms, followed closely
by Bruno with eleven and Kendrick Lamar Woodson.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
The award show, which will air on CBS and MTV
on September seventh, are also doing something they've never done before,
and we will tell you what that is next in
the buzz. So don't move.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
Mario Courtney Lopez. Here was some quick buzz for you,
just talking about the MTV VMAs. Well. Congrats to my guy,
Ricky Martin. He is being honored at this year's awards
with the inaugural Latin Icon Award, recognizing his impact on
popularizing Latin music and culture into the mainstream over his
four decade career.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Ricky already has quite the history with the VMA's. Back
in nineteen ninety nine, he was the first male Latin
artist to win Best Pop Video and become the night's
biggest winner overall, taking home five awards, and that same
year he made history by being the first Latin artist
to receive a nomination in the Video of the Year category.
For his hit song Live in La Vida Loca. This

(12:32):
year also marks the twenty sixth anniversary of his groundbreaking
performance at the nineteen ninety nine show. So in addition
to receiving the Latin Icon Award, Ricky or Rick as
I know him, is also set to perform as well.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
You know, in all seriousness, he's obviously the perfect person
to receive this award because he started in manula when
he was a little kid. In the fact that he
was able to transition to the solo artists and still
hang in there. Congratulations, right, go Rick Martin.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
You're Mario Lopez.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
On the way, You're Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Making a quick digital pit stop on Mario dot com.
So Kordo can tells what's trending.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Help you can find out why Taylor Swift fans are
convinced she's gonna headline the Super Bowl halftime show.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Her fans are like little sleuths. They think everything is
a clue. And uh, We'll have to.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
Say, I think a bread recipe is the secret to everything.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Right now, sour dough, carb it up. Kim Kardashian unveils
a dramatic hair transformation bolt you can check that out
and Sizza adding a new role to her resume, artistic
director for Van's Shoes. Find out me too, find out
why she says it just makes sense. All that, all
that and more, just go to On with Mario dot Com.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
Music rolls on Mario Courtney Lopez. Here and since the

Speaker 3 (13:56):

classroom for this fall, powered by donors. Choose so help us.
They thank you to the educators shaping our future. Nominate
your favorite teacher at On with Mario dot Com slash.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Teachers Moral Courtney Lopez. Each year, new words get added
to the Dictionary and the Cambridge Dictionaries, updating theirs the
slang terms scibitti and delulu. They're added to the online edition.
Scabitti from the viral Skibitty toilet series is a zany

(14:32):
word that's a good word right there, zany that's used
playfully with varying or no, mini, so it can be
cool or bat Oh that was scibitti.

Speaker 4 (14:40):
Oh, no way, dude, that's scabitti.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
I used it earlier in the show.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Did you get it ironically at the very beginning with it? Yes?

Speaker 3 (14:48):
Yeah, but nobody like said, what are you talking about?

Speaker 4 (14:51):
Got to this yet? Yes?

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Meanwhile, Delulu is short for delusional, basically people who choose
to believe things that aren't real or on purpose. I
have a few friends that are delilu. I just can
tell you a few.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
You have more than a few.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Okay. Both terms reflect internet culture's growing influence on language.
They join over six thousand new entries this year, including
trad wife that means.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
A wife who cooks, cleans, does all the traditional stuff.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
Oh I like that traditional?

Speaker 4 (15:20):
What good that is?

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Not?

Speaker 4 (15:22):
I does it really?

Speaker 2 (15:23):
Red flag? I think we all know what that means.
Stay away and work wife.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
Mario Lopez will be right back with.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
Mario Courtney Lopez.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Time to make it weird with a random thought, which
you got, Quardo.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
You know, you never look drunker than when you've just
knocked over a glass and you're trying to explain it's
not due to your alcohol consumption.

Speaker 4 (15:43):
I swear I didn't drink that much, so this was
not because of the booze.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
Ironically, I've been knocking over my glap. I've been knocking
over I knocked something over over your lap. I've been
knocking over my cup of water on Access Daily pretty frequently.
Really only because I'm speaking a lot with my hands
now when my hand arms in a sleep for a while,
I think I'm speaking extra with my hands. Yeah, and
accidentally you're knocking it over.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
You never did that when I was, so I'm not drunk. Well,
is it before or after you do have the drinking second?

Speaker 2 (16:14):
That's true? All right, a few more songs that we're
going to take another look at the bus because one
former late night host says the cancelation of the Late
show is only the beginning. We're in Courtney Lopez here
back to tell you about Conan O'Brien's bull prediction. Next
olmar Courtney Lopez digging into the bus because Conan O'Brien

(16:34):
says late night TV is about to disappear.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
On with Mario Hollywood Buzz.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
So, former late night talk show host Conan O'Brien has
predicted that the traditional format of late night television will
eventually disappear. Prediction comes amidst a period of significant change
within the TV industry, stemming from the rise of streaming
platforms and just how people consume media. He remains optimistic
about the future for late night hosts, including st and Colbert,
who showed the Late Show was recently canceled by CBS

(17:03):
and it's going to end this next year. He says
he believes that these voices are too talented and too
essential to go away, and they're going to adapt and
thrive in new formats that leverage streaming and other evolving platforms.
In fact, Conor himself has already transitioned away from the
traditional late night format. He's found success in podcasting with
Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend and appearing in the travel
comedy series Connan O'Brien Must Go. Yes, I actually sort

(17:27):
of agree that there will be a lot of change,
not just in late night but in television in general.
So it remains to be seen and it's a different era, folks.
We'll see how it all unfolds.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
We just have to learn to adapt and go with
the flow.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Yep, Poor Mario Lopez, jol Mario Courtney Lopez. If you're
trying to get a jump start on those Labor Day plans.
All I mean someone is going to be over You
may get to save a little money if you're traveling.
Triple A says domestic round trip flights are six percent
cheaper than they were last year, averaging seven hundred and
twenty dollars a ticket. Hotel are also down in the summer,

(18:02):
an average of eleven percent lower, and rental car costs
are three percent cheaper than last Labor.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
Day and gas prices have also remained low this summer,
matching the average cost in the summer of twenty twenty one. Well,
that's good for those who are taking a road trip
for Labor Day. It won't help the holiday traffic. Roads
are expected to be busy starting Thursday, August twenty eighth,
and the worst time to be driving is from one
pm to eight pm that Thursday and Friday. Expert say

(18:30):
it's best to leave really early in the morning. When
I was in North Carolina and Buffalo for our sun
I got gas every day because it was like two somethings.
Oh yeah, it was just so exciting, so close.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
To the end of the nine for US. Mario Lopez
you've got to squeeze in one last thing. We'd love
to squeeze in a request or two before we get
out of here.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
Got something you want to hear? Slide into our dms
over on Instagram at On with Mario Lopez and please
click follow to join the fam.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Courtney Lopez quickly squeezing in one last thing before we
get out of here. On Saturday, I went to the Greek.
I got him to the Greek and checked out this
freestyle show. Freestyle being a type of music. We're talking
artists like Trenier, Expose, Stevie b Lisa Lisa, And it
was a nice summer night and I gotta say it

(19:21):
was so much fun. I'm looking around and I'm like, man,
I got all these old people enjoying themselves. And then
I still thought about it, and I say, wait a minute,
you're older. They're about the same age, are only a
few years older.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
And I'm like, oh my gosh.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
And then I got sad. But it was a lot
of fun. I ended up introducing Lisa Lisa on stage
and we're just like randomly no.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
They asked me the booge and I had.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
A couple of cocktails in me I probably shouldn't have been,
but it was.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
It was.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
It was a lot of fun, and it was good
to see these artists still being grateful to be out
there and performing and having a good time. In the audio,
it was packed. All your tas and tias, all the
thea's and the deals and the nananas were out or
they were out crazy.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Mario Lopez returns after this.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
All right, that's sick. Done so much for hanging out
with us as always, more fun tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
That's right. This is Mario and Courtney Lopez saying good
night everybody
