Speaker 1 (00:00):
On with Mariotte. All right, back to work. It's Maria
Lopez seven in for a few hours of fun with
your Backstreet Boys, stopping by later on. Looking forward to
catching up with those guys. Plus all kinds of stuff
went down over the weekend Royal Wedding, Billboard Music Awards.
We're gonna get to all the big moments and Dancing
with the Stars finale going down tonight. I'm gonna tell

(00:20):
you what to expect, so lots to get to. Let's
do it. It's already the finals on Dancing with the Stars,
Mario Courtney Lopez. Here three teams left, Tanya Harding going
for gold yet again. Adam rip On an NFL quarterback
Josh Norman two dances each tonight. One's going to be
inspired by their time on the show, which is funny

(00:41):
because they've only been there like two weeks and voting
is going to be online, so they're gonna give out
the trophy at the end of the show. Do you
think that Tanya may finally get her gold? Wouldn't that
be ironic and awesome at the same time. I'm voting
for her dancing care again is not? She was on
the show too and she didn't go this far. That's funny.

(01:03):
You were on with Mario Lopez. The fun continues next
from the Geico studios. Remember fifteen minutes. You can save
you more on car and Stress at Geiko dot com.
Smarto Lopez. Billboard Music Awards went down last night. Kelly
Clarkson killed at his host. Get you caught up on
all the winners and performances like Farrell and CaMLA Caabao's
Sangria Wanting on with Maria dot Com. All right, keeping

(01:26):
the music going for you. It Smarrio Lopez. Got a
song you want to here? Please feel free to tweet
that my way at on with Mario and hang tight
because we're back in ten to talk some royal wedding.
All right, back to music, surely, Mario Courtney Lopez here
gotta talk royal wedding. On with Mario, Hollywood. But in
the presence of God and before this congregation, I therefore

(01:50):
proclaimed that they are husband and wife. You know, it
got such positive buzz. People really felt that it was genuine,
and he got emotional, and oh the way he looked
at her and said, you're amazing, I'm so lucky. It
was like fairy tale less, but it kind of was right,
so beautiful. Thirty million people in the US watched it live,

(02:12):
big ratings for NBC. Highlight for me is that Megan
Marco passed the door test when he and Kate. You're
not familiar with the door test, it's from the movie
The Bronx Tale. When he went to open the car
door and that James Bond looking car, she reached over
and unlocked the door for him. I was like, oh,
she's one of the great ones. I wouldn't have been

(02:33):
able to do it in my dress because how my
sleeves where I couldn't live my would have filled the
door test that might have that might have damaged our relationship.
And we didn't have to drive anywere Here's a little
of the Kingdom Choir by the way singing during the ceremony.
I mean, this wedding was just so beautiful and I

(02:54):
don't know, it's just a true fairy tale. The best
was probably Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon when they covered
the Royal Wedding for HBO. Okay, tis well, you've witnessed
the day. You saw these two young people with your
very own eyes. What do you think their chances are?
Is is this thing over in a year three years?

(03:15):
I'm sure some people out there are offended, which is
the sad thing. I know it's a sad thing, but
this was hilarious and I hope they do this for
every big event on Lamara dot com, for everything Royal wedding,
more fun coming up, This is on with Mario Lopez
coming to you from the Geico studios. What does it
mean when Geiko says fifteen minutes could save you or
more on car insurance? It means you probably should have

(03:36):
gone to Geico dot com fifteen minutes ago, so less
than I'm out the way from the season two premiere
of the four Battle for Start, Mario Lopez Here, get
that DDR set Megan Trainer, Diddy, DJ Kaled, and Fergie
back June seven on Fox. By the way, the initial
four have already been chosen on Mario dot Com to
meet the contestants kick it off season two. Yeah, Al,

(03:58):
Mario Lopez very will be hanging out with our guests.
This our all five Backstreet Boys gonna be here a
j Howee, Nick, Kevin and Brian. They just dropped a
new single, so we're gonna get the scoop on that
and get this. They're celebrating a big anniversary as a group.
Got me feeling old. We're gonna get them in studio
after a few more songs. All right, back to the

(04:19):
music in a sak Mario Lopez here, let's welcome to
the show, the Backstreet Boys. What's going on? Fellas? What la?
It's a party with you guys. Right there, Let's get
right into the music. New single just dropped, Don't Go
Break in My Heart? What's the what's the backstory with
this song? It's a great song that was submitted to us.
That doesn't always have to be a heartfelt uh backstory? Right,

(04:43):
Sometimes you just hear it. It's a good jam and
let's do it. It's that simple, huh Yeah. And we
also feel like if we don't have the word heart
in one of our songs, it's just like an omen
that it's not gonna do well. Yeah, exactly know, heart
has to be in one of our songs. Yeah. Actually,
there is a little bit of a backstory. The producer
Stuart Christon came to our our show out in Vegas.
We had demoed a song that he sent prior and um,

(05:05):
he came to see our show and was inspired and
then went back in the lab and created this this song,
so it does have a little bit of a backstory,
was inspired by Las Vegas. And is there gonna be
a full album in the future, perhaps you just dropping
things at this point. Absolutely, I mean the plan is
right now, we're gonna hopefully let this this song get
out there and breathe and see where it goes with that.

(05:27):
And but in the meantime, we've been recording for the
past what year and a year and a half now,
and we're still not done. We're still always constantly getting
new stuff sent to us, and we just feel like,
you know, God willing, if we can get another single
out there, then hopefully by the end of this year,
god willing will have an album out. If not, when
it's meant to be out, it'll come out. And we're
getting up for a big tour next year, worldwide tour

(05:47):
with that album, all right, man, we're looking forward to that.
We're gonna more with the Backstreet Boys. On the way
from the Geico studios, We're fifteen minutes. You could save
more on cars. This is on with Mario Lopez. Lopez
hanging out with the Backstreet Boys, who are heading back
to Vegas for another residency. Right, yeah. It It all
started with nine shows about a year and a half ago,

(06:09):
and then we're up to I think sixty three now.
I think as we added all up. Uh, so we
will be back July through August August twelve, and then
we'll be back in October and November for a four
week run there, and then we'll be back in February
and nineteen. So we got a busy schedule. But uh,

(06:31):
you know, celebrating twenty five years together. Not a not
a bad gig, not a bad gig. We're excited tomorrow.
Lopez in studio with the Backstreet Boys and I saw
the picks from the Big Cruise. Whose idea was it
to dress up as the Spice Girls? How did that
come together? You know? I think it was party like
it's And one of our girls, one of our girls

(06:53):
on social media was like, you guys should be the
Spice Girls. Spice Boys. Who made the hottest girl? Man?
I was like, yeah, I'm gonna be it. He was.
It was pretty hot baby splice Ye smart Lopez hanging
out here with the Backstreet Boys and it's been twenty

(07:15):
five years together. As a group. Man, that's unbelieving. I
remember when y'all first came out. It's all damn, I'm
feeling old now. But what do you what do you
remember most about that first year together being hard? I
just remember like being we were doing a lot of practicing,
a lot of rehearsing. You know. We we were in Orlando,
like we didn't even have a record deal, and we
were just we were in this warehouse that was just hot,

(07:37):
no air conditioning. No, it was a garage first, that's right.
And we were just constantly rehearsing, constantly practicing, doing vocal
lessons of work, dancing and just grinding, you know. But
it took like what five years before we even had
just trying to get noticed, um playing you know, singing
anywhere for anyone at any time, in restaurants, in pet

(08:00):
stores and I mean just anywhere, just trying to get
noticed and to notice this. And it paid off. I
remember Saved by the Bell was still on good memory,
that's right. I guess what it's still on. Hey who

(08:21):
was the most annoying back then? Nick? Nick? For sure?
I mean I was like twelve years old. What do
you want me to do? What I want? To do.
That's great. That's great. Hey man, well that's cool. It's great.
It's great to hear you guys are still killing it
and doing your thing. Look forward to checking out the show.

Last night Billboard Music Awards went down live from Vegas.
Mario Lopez here thought Kelly Clarkson crushed it as both
host and her performances. Anyway, a couple more songs and

(09:27):
we're gonna get to all the big moments. Mario Courtney
Lopez more music in just a bit. First, Let's get
you caught up on all the Billboard Music Awards on
with Mario Hollywood, but a lot of amazing performances last
night and the Billboard Music Awards. That's how was one
of the better shows. Fun Collapse and sort of kicks
off the season. Kelly Clarkson opened the show with a

(09:48):
medley of nominated songs from Kendrick Lamar, Imagine, Dragons and more.
Sit Down. She she just can do no wrong. In
my eyes. I think she makes the original songs better. Yeah. Anyway,

(10:12):
Arianna Grande did her new single No Tears Left to Cry.
She's great live too, Yeah, cool, she can really sing
and soaking. Shawn Mendez here he is doing in my
Blood sounds. I feel like even enough, But that's just kid.

(10:41):
He was standing in a field of flowers and I
was just worried about his allergies. They were real flowers.
There's the mom and Me. Taylor Swift one top female Artist.

this year's Macy's I Heart Radio Rising Star. And by
the way, just by voting, you're gonna be entered to
win a trip to Vegas for the festival to September. Alright,
ten minutes away from Courtney's random question, Mario Lopez, hang

(11:48):
on for that right now though some more music. You're
a Mario Lopez, Courtney Frisian Nichols on the mix as well.
Time for our random question, Honey, what do you got?
Would you rather have to get on stage and do
five minutes of original stand up comedy or lick the
hand rail in an NYC subway car. I've been on

(12:09):
those subway cars. Here's the thing. I bet you're a comedian.
We think you're so funny. No, No, the number one
fear for most people is public speaking. And I bet
you if you were to pull a hundred people of
them would say they'd rather lick the rail of the
subway because they'll suffer those consequences rather than be on

(12:32):
stage and have that fear of being humiliated. And it's
a scary thing. It's what that said. And I'm used
to being on stage and we just need to work
on their material, right, And I'm used to clearly being
on stage and talking on the mike, But I would
be very very nervous. I'm not liking a rail so
I'm taking my chances, but it does make me pause

(12:54):
and not you know, I mean, don't you isn't a
scary thing? Yeah, especially if you're not extend up comedian, right,
I'd have to take Uh, there have to be some
liquid courage involved before you get Yeah, that's that's probably fine. Yeah,
I think you could drink before you do either one
of those. Either one, oh, either one would have to
be probably want to drink after, especially the New York
City rail. What would you do? Hit is up on

(13:15):
Twitter and On with Mario with Mario Lopez. More coming
up from the Guicho Studios. Remember fifteen minutes you could
save you fift or more on car insurance At geiko
dot com. You jews for the Mendez Army. It's Mario
Lopez Sean announcing his new album, Sean Mendez. The album
is gonna drop May. He released the cover art and
track listing, Bunch of Collapse, including Julia Michael's co lead

(13:39):
and more. At all Maria Lopez on Instagram for more info.
Mario Lopez here in Fifth Harmony officially saying goodbye and
the members are already moving on to new gigs. Details
next in the Hollywood Buzz Keryl, Mario Cortney Lopez and
Fifth Harmony has said goodbye On with Mario Hollywood. But

(13:59):
this makes me kind of set. The group's final show
was last week in Florida, and they've decided to hang
it up after six years together. They formed back in
two thousand twelve after auditioning a solo artist for X Factor.
You were the host and you were there from there
from the beginning, from the beginning. Yeah, I got to
see all of them together. Of course, when they had

(14:19):
Camila Cabayo with them, and Normani has already moved on.
She's signed modeling contract apparently. She says she's always wanted
to get into fashion and she's inspired by Naomi Campbell.
But they had a pretty good run. They had a
few hits. They lasted six years. That's a lot longer
than a lot of these girl bands. Well, who else
has come out of X Factor that we remember? Tate

(14:42):
Stevens who won who um between Fifth Harmony and Camila
Cabello for only a couple of seasons, they've made a
big splash and then of course one direction coming from
X Factor UK. The rest is history there and Bleeding
Love girl Leona Lewis she facts? Are you okay? Yes?
She was? Need more Hollywood buzz. Get up on with

(15:04):
Mario dot com for Mario's take on everything happening in
Tinseltown and hang on the crazy discontinuous in Moments from
the Geico Studios or fifteen Minutes Could Save You or
more on car Insurance. So I heard Radio Music Festival
headed back to Vegas to September. It's Maria Lopez line
up for the daytime stage, already out five sauce to
Alipa and more. Tickets on sale now only twenty nine

(15:27):
bucks on Mario dot com slash festival to get yours
keeping the music coming out chuts Mario Lopez. And before
we get out of here, forget the Olympics or World Cup,
America's has brought home a new title, One Last Thing,
just a few songs away. What happens Tomorrio Lopez, my
wife Courtney Lopez. Here time for one last thing. Forget
the Olympics and World Cup. Americans just snagged and even

(15:47):
better on her the world's biggest TV watchers. Really Yes,
On average, Americans spend four hours in three minutes a
day watching TV. Wow, I'm jealous. Till this day, I
still love watching TV. It's such a treat for us.
But we must average four hours a week because by

(16:11):
the time you either choose to watch TV or sleep, right,
because as you get older and you've got kids and
you get busy, it becomes like a like a treat.
But I think that's a lot of daytime watchers people.
I'm going to assume that maybe work from home or
or people that are out there, um, you know, because
that just seems impossible. Europeans follow us with an average

(16:32):
of three hours and forty nine minutes. That's actually a
little bit surprising. I always think Europeans um have a
lot more interesting stuff to do. So much team Yeah,
actually they'd watch less. More with Mario coming your way
from the Geico Studios, or fifteen minutes could save you
or more uncor insurance. Okay, that's it for this Monday,

(16:55):
Mario Lopez saying good night. Big thanks to the Backstreet
Boys for stopping by with Mario dot com from more
of my chat with them. I'm gonna be back tomorrow
for more fun. Until then, let's keep the music going
for you. On with Mario Lopez.
