Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario Lopez. Al right back behind the mica.
After an amazing I Heart Radio Music Festival weekend, We're
gonna keep the fund going for you Today. My guests
will be Fox Sports insider Jay Glazier. We're gonna talk
about his new pod. We also got your tweets in
the mix. But up next, my youngest has started martial arts.
Could get a little chaotic. All right, more music. Now

(00:20):
you're Ala Mario Lopez, You're al Mario Courtney Lopez, and
my youngest son, Santino Raphael Lopez has started officially in
jiu jitsu. Well, I don't know if we can say
he started. We attempted to take him to his first class.
He got the g one is the little pajama looking
karate outfit that they were. He got that on, which

(00:42):
was a short in and of itself. After thirty minutes,
after thirty minutes, and then hey, how does it take
Mario to put his on at this point? Ten seconds?
But here's the deal, half the battle, showing up. My
little guys showed up first first class. That's step one.
I'm trying to think how old we started. Dominic I
knew he was three I he was three, but he
literally just turned through like a couple of weeks ago.

(01:03):
Was Dominic right as soon as he turned three, or
like you wanted to take him at two and a
half and they said no, three, I have evidence right
at three weeks really and he listened to Dominic, I
think listen to he was actually pretty good. Yeah, he
Santino is just um, he's special. He's very energetic, and

(01:24):
I think once he's able to focus a little bit
in channel all that energy, he's going to be a
little low killer and you'll be fine. But I got
him out on that for a second and he no,
and then he just runs back and tries to tackle
the stairs. I have a question. So I know Santino
comes from James Kahn's character, right, and the godfather is
Rafael from the Ninja Turtles. Rafael is my grandfather's name. Okay,

(01:47):
that's that. Actually that's more appropriate than Ninja Turtle. Does
it sound like a Ninja Turtle name to you, because
I said that it is Tantino, Raphael sounds like a
mutant Ninja Turtle, which, by the way, the Ninja Turtles
have awesome names, and they may end up rebooting that
at some point he could be in it. There you go.
I think that's great because Dominic Luciano. Luciano's my other grandfather.

(02:08):
There you go. Both of them are named made a
rest in peace. But Sunny gave it a shot. We
will try again. Well, maybe we'll give it a few weeks.
But I think what I'm gonna do next time, I'm
gonna put on the G. I'm gonna have his brother
put on the G and that'll be the next attempt.
Prayers up, fingers crusted more Mario Lopez coming up, wil
Courtney Lopez here in the I Heart Radio Music Festival

(02:28):
was amazing as always. My guy Lana Richie killed it
Friday night and everyone's talking about ditty from Saturday, but
l l prove he still got it. God, my man
should go on tour. That's my man. In case you
missed something or want to relive it, watch the two
night event Friday October seven and Saturday October eight on
the c W at your girl. All right, you're all

(02:53):
Courtney Lopez. Let's take a look at what's on TV today.
Hulu premieres Chefs Versus Wild Chefs are dropped into the
wilderness and have to create a five Star meal out
of their environment. This sounds absolutely awful. First of all,
I get they can create a meal, a five star meal.
That's that's that's gonna lie. You're gonna be missing some things. Yeah, exactly.

(03:16):
The Food Network debuts Halloween Cookie Challenge. I could get
down with that, bod Taste tester. And Netflix has a
Trip to Infinity. It's not that. It's a documentary about
the concept of infinity and what it means for the universe.
That's that's deep. I kind of want to watch that.

(03:37):
Courtney Lopez, and I think this is an example of irony.
The CEOO of Beyond Meat was arrested for taking a
bite of meat from another man's nose, apparently gotten a
fender bender, and it led to a big fight. In
the middle of it all, he bit into the guy's
nose and ripped the flesh off. Yes, you know what,
First of all, it doesn't make him a vegan, I

(03:58):
think anymore more wortantly, I like that my man just
went just did what he had to do to win
the fight. Is that Biden knows off and that's okay.
He's kind of got my props right there. Really, this
is disgusting. You know what, this show you got in
a fight even though I am a vegan, so so
come on, you don't say that out loud. I am

(04:20):
a vegan. I think this guy's hungry, that's why he's
been well, he's got all that animals, so you would know.
So you're saying he's hungry. I'm not hungry. I'm satisfied.
Someone's nose off. I'm saying that sounds like he's hungry,
so maybe it's not the lifestyle choice for him. Mario
Lopez will be right back. Maria Lopez here, my wife, Courtney,

(04:40):

for me. Oh thank you at Musty Defy. Ironically, I
can kind of do that. I am hosting the game

(05:45):
scene it, which has been around for a few years now.
In case you're not familiar, it's basically a trivial pursuit
entirely focused on movies and TV. It took a long
time for me to do all those answers, but but
it's worth it. It's a lot of fun, so check
it out. It took it took a long time because
you kept trying to answer them. I can play along. Yes,

(06:06):
that's right, So seen it. Get us up on Twitter,
on with Mario and hang on more Mario Lopez on
the web. What Mario Courtney Lopez here in the newest
podcast or my Heart Radio is for the nineties kids.
It's from Billy Corgan of the band Smashing Pumpkins. It's
called thirty three. I used to love the double album
that Smashing Pumpkins Uh put out. It had some it

(06:28):
had some pretty good uh and that's some pretty good
songs to it. Right there? Did they actually ever Smash Pumpkins?
Only on Halloween? Got it? And only once? Anyway, you
can always check out this show as a podcast to
just search for on with Mario Mario Lopez. Here, my wife, Courtney,
what holiday we saw brating today? Honey? It is Lumberjack Day.
Lumberjacks still exists, right. I know we can't cut down

(06:50):
trees anymore, but they've got I mean they still cut
down trees because we still have lumber, we still have paper.
We still that's that's miss trees. I feel just people
are so posed to lumberjack. Cut down a Christmas tree? No,
but if you get one, I just say Christmas, Happy
lumber Jack daymar Courtney Lopez. Time to celebrate some celebrity birthdays.

(07:12):
We're gonna try to guess the ages as always. Christina
milliawn from Love Don't Cost a Thing, She's forty one.
I'm gonna say Christina is forty four. Shee wow, good job,
Serena Williams tennis superstar Serena is just hitting the fourth

(07:32):
level forty one wow. And Linda Hamilton's well, I'm gonna
go with forty one terminator. She was in an eighties
TV show Beauty and the Beast. Yes, married to James
Cameron back in the day. Oh that's right, she is
seventy one, sixty four, sixty six man. More fun on

(07:53):

what everyone's talking about. It On with Mario dot Com.
Go there now, Mario Lopez, You're just a few more

(08:19):
songs until we get to. Today's guest is Jay Glazier
from Fox NFL Sunday. He's got a new podcast focusing
on mental health, plus my guy trains with some of
the biggest athletes and celebs. We're gonna get it all
that after a few more songs. It's up on Mario
Lopez joining me now on Zoom from Fox NFL Sunday
bestselling author my Got Jay Glazier. Welcome to the show Man.

(08:40):
How are you? How are you? My brother? How you doing?
I'm doing well and uh, recently just learned you are
no longer living in California, but in the great state
of Arizona. How do you like it out there? I'm
loving it, you know. I came out here to try
to learn how to excel. That's a good place to learn.
I'm still in l A because I have unbreakable performance
how there, and obviously I'm doing Fox NFL Sunday. But

(09:02):
it's great. You know how we long it was my
my brother you know at Fox he lives right here
in the same mountain, so I fly in with him.
So he's kind of like my uber driver. There you go.
It's a quick little flight too. It's perfect, not bad, right,
not that at all. He from originally Jersey, a Jersey
it rhymes with Persey poor. I don't really like to Hey,

(09:24):
you're from out there? That's awesome? Whatw cobout and detective
thicker accent? Because when I started with Fox, they made
me get rid of it, no boom Jersey having me
work with a voice coach because I literally was like, hey, doing, Hey,
We've got these three guys over there that the best
sounded like I would have watched just for that. Now,
if you were coming at me with like a Boston accent,
then I can understand. No, no, I wish you had

(09:47):
a Boston accent. It's a little bit cooler yours are.
That's way cooler to trust me. Jersey is way way cooler.
All right, hold on, I want to talk to you
about your podcast. We gotta take a break more with
j Glazier coming up More Mario Lopez coming up. Mario
Lopez here hanging out with Jay Glazier from Fox Sports
and congrats. You recently launched your own podcast, Unbreakable, uh,

(10:08):
focusing specifically on mental health. What what made you want
to do the show? Well, you know, I just wrote
a book, um, same title, I'm Breakable. How I turn
my depression anxiety into motivation and you can too. And
when I'm fifty two years old and I have just um,
I've hit it. For all these years I suffered from
what I call the gray. I called the gray. It

(10:29):
is depression anxiety, throwing some a d D while we're
at it. I got it all and for years. Man,
I just had to walk this this hearth alone with it,
and it's not something I signed up for. You know,
I don't I don't want to wake up every single
day I think that the sky is falling, or the

(10:49):
world hates me, or I'm not worthy of being loved.
But that's from my earliest childhood memory on and one
thing God bless me with as a voice to a
big reach. So I said, you know, I'm to start
talking about this because one thing I talked about in
the book that helps me kind of battle this is
to have a team. So I started now talking about
it openly and it gives me more teammates. More of

(11:11):
us need to start having these conversations. Man, we gotta
start walking to walk together. Definitely. Well, you can find
Unbreakable on iHeart Radio or wherever you get your pods.
Hold on j Gotta play some music here, al Maria Lopez.
We're talking mental health at Jay Glazier from the podcast Unbreakable.
And you've had a lot of mixed martial arts training
that's got to help. And that's where I felt I

(11:33):
felt comfortable in a cage taking beatings from people from
the longest for all these years, like, I don't know
how to get love from the inside out. So I
used to go on a cage and take beatings from
my boys, and that was love for me. How messed
up is that? And I get that though, actually right,
you understand that, right, and and that's the cast part also,
But that's what I felt myself worth was to be

(11:56):
in a cage and take beatings from other men, and
that's how I'm gonna get love. But afterwards, me and
Brandy Gutur and Chuck Leadell would sit in the cage
and we start crying about our problems and I'm like, man,
if we could do this, the rest of the world
could start doing it. And it that's when I really
started saying this is this is good and I you know,
I started a charity called m v P Merging Vets

(12:16):
and Players, where it take former combat vets and former
pro athletes who are struggling when the uniform comes off. Man,
I started open up to them. We all open up
to each other together, and that's the room with the
baddest people on the planet, and we're all crowding each other.
So if we could do it, everybody else can start
doing it. But once we do, we unpack it. Man.
It just helps us so much between the years. Man,
it really does fit for you. Man, I think you

(12:38):
canna help a lot of people. That's that's awesome. That's awesome. Yeah,
congrats on that. I got one more thing I gotta
ask you, but we gotta take a little break. We're
gonna wrap it up with Jay Glazier in the moment.
You're the full interview now on with Mario. Do more.
Mario Lopez on the way. Mario Lopez wrapping things up
with Jay Glazier from Fox NFL Sunday. Real quick, I
want to talk a little NFL. You've broken a lot

(12:58):
of news over the years. What are you hearing about
these bread five allegations? Oh yeah, I'm hearing about Hi
about I don't know if about it, because I'm anytime
there's a legal thing, I um, I know I'm not
smart enough to understand legally's obviously that cringe when I
see it. I just don't know the story on that.
You think my Chargers are gonna be all right this year? Man?

(13:20):
That quarterback is special? Oh my god, for that injury,
he asked Justin Herbert. I don't know if you've ever fractured.
You can suck, you can't laugh, you can't seeze, can't talk,
forget about it exactly. And this guy, this guy right,
he threw a dime where he couldn't Breathe like, oh
my god, I'm sitting there watch with a buddy of

(13:42):
mine and Bow mcmiller's who's on Food Network with him
and one of my Fight teammates, nam Aaron Simpson fought
in the UFC and I was like, Oh, they gotta
pull they gotta pull him. Oh my god, how did
he just throw that? But he's different, you know him
and Patrick Mahomes for the next fifteen years. Signed me up.
I'm in. You can listen to Unbreakable on I Heart
Radio or wherever you get your podcast. Jay. Thanks for

(14:05):
checking in, Brother brother Love Mario Courtney Lopez here with
some quick buzz. Bryce Dallas Howard is now a respected
director just like her dad, in addition to being an actress.
But she says producers on Jurassic World Dominion told her
she needed to lose weight. Oh that took a turn, Yeah,
she says. The director Colin at Trevor Row actually stepped

(14:25):
in and rejected the demands. Um Bryce says there were
so many stunts in the movie that she wouldn't have
had the energy to do that if she was on
a restricted diet. I gave that note because she never
looked heavy. No, that's a weird weird No. Come on, yeah,
marrow Courtney Lopez, let's put a spotlight on my wife
based time for Courtney's random question, would you got any

(14:47):
if you would perform on the masked Singer, what would
your costume be and what song would you sing? I
know it's going to be an m J song. It's
not going to be an ms gay song. It's actually
going to be Mark Morrison Return of the Mac. Yes
at that? That? Okay, hold on my my outfit because

(15:08):
now you don't have to be like a You can
be like a faucet, sink, like you can be just
any random object. Yeah, it can be a random object.
Oh my god, doesn't it have to be some Wait
a minute with you. You're gonna love this. I'd be
a French bulldog. I'd be a French bulldog singing Return
of the Mac, and I'd have a My collar would
be like just on point. It would be like it
would be like Spike, but then with like a cool

(15:30):
sort of metal. I don't know if I'm down with
that song. Why that song is kind of equivalent to
Adam Levine's m What Adam Levin was doing was not
mac like Adam Levine was more hack like, this is
a guy who's single now, But I just like the jam.
That's all I get. The party started more Mario Lopez

(15:52):
coming up? What Mario Courtney Lopez here, Today's lesson in
music history is about the first female to have four
number one songs from one album. That's some good trivia.
I'm gonna share with you next, y'all. Maaro Courtney Lopez.
And on this day in history thirty five years ago
in seven, this was the biggest song in the country. God,

(16:25):
I love that song. I thought you were gonna hit
to hit us with head. Hey, there it is. That's
of course from the album Whitney Whitney Houston just killing
it with four number one songs from that album, which
made the first female like to have four number one
hits from one album. That is incredibly impressive. Hey, y' all,

(16:46):
Marion Courtney Lopez. Time now for one last thing. We
recently saw a man Sebastian Maniscalco in Vegas and he
was taping his new Netflix special, and can I tell
you we were crying literally, we were laughing so much
and so hard, right honey. Yeah, it was you know,

(17:06):
to be around him in person um at just random parties.
He's very different on stage, I mean, a more animating.
I was not expecting that, because honestly, I've seen little skits,
but I haven't seen a whole thing in its entirety.
And our friend who was with us was literally having convulsions,
and part of that, you know, it made it so
much more fun, too, is when you go with someone

(17:28):
who laughs so hard and he's having such a great time,
it made us enjoy it even more. Right like that,
we were laughing at him laughing, and then we were
worried because I'm like, is he okay? Sometimes laugh so
hard like you can't breathe, you know, you can't breathe.
I can't catch a breath. I felt like I had
a full ab workout afterwards because we're doing little crunches.
But he killed it. It's a new special I believe

(17:49):
is coming out in December. He was in a tux.
He asked everyone to dress memo. Yeah, we know. I
think we dressed up compared to the other people that
were in the audience right there, Well, there were people
in gowns. He wanted to Some people took notes, the
other people, uh did not. Let's just say, but it's Vegas.
You can roll whoever you want. But the point here
is my guy, Sebastemannascalco killed it. Check out as Netflix

(18:09):
special coming in December. Lara Maria Lopez coming up all right,
time for me to pass Mike Big thanks to Jay
Galiser for hanging out tomorrow. My guest is my tree,
Rama Krishnan from Never Have I Ever Until then Mario
Lopez saying good night. You're on with Mario Lopez
