d Today we honor Megan the Stallion. She's originally from
h Town, Houston, Texas, where Hurricane Beryl crippled the region
earlier in the summer. More than two million people were
without power at one point. That is just awful. My
sister was down there and experienced that. So Megan is
providing generators to senior personal care homes across the city.
(00:47):
Ten have been distributed already. More on the way. Electricity
is obviously essential for everyone, especially seniors, not just for
air conditioning to beat the heat, but also to refrigerate
medicines and keep medical devices operating. This is awesome of
her love to hear this, she's not forgetting where she
comes from, and she's really going above and beyond. Good
(01:09):
for Megan Moor.
Speaker 1 (01:11):

Courtney's Court is a noun session. Today's case is from
at Jackie Sperry and she says, my girlfriend of three
years is making vacation plans with a male friend from college.
I'm not able to attend, but she wants to go anyway.
Do I have the right to be upset about this?
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Okay, well, I have a few questions. Were you invited?
Speaker 2 (02:45):
It's true they said I'm not able to attend, so
maybe they were.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
So maybe they were and he just can't go. You know,
I don't see a problem with it if they're friends
from you know, back in the day. It's before you.
Speaker 5 (02:58):
And they supposed to cancel it just because you can't go.
They tried, they asked to, at least we think yes, well, no,
I'm not able to, so I'm assuming They'm assuming they did.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Yeah, if you trust her, you don't have anything to
worry about.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Right, Jackie, is it cute or Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Mario Lopez here with a reminder that I heard Radio
is the exclusive audio partner of the twenty twenty four
Summer Olympics. We've got two stations dedicated to twenty four
to seven coverage. So if you can't sleep tonight, tune
into women's badminton. Love me some badminton, by the way,
the most played sport in the nation. Fun fact, really yes, badminton.
(03:37):
Shut up cocks are flying everywhere first round of men's
golf or women's pistol shooting. Don't miss a moment of
the action. Just open your heart radio page. The Olympic
stations are at the top of the homepage. Mario Lopez here.
Today's guest is actress and singer Victoria Justice. She's dropped
a new song called Down. Plus he's got a couple
of movies in the works, so I'm gonna find out
(03:57):
all about it after a few more songs. It's ubra
Al Mario Lopez driving now on Zoom. Actress and singer
Victoria Justice. Welcome to the Show of Victoria.
Speaker 6 (04:06):
Have you been thanks, Maria, I've been good. It's good
to see you. Long time no see.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
I know, it's great to see you. You look amazing
as always, and congratulations on the new single Down. What
inspired this song? Tell me about it?
Speaker 7 (04:22):
So I've been working with this incredibly talented songwriter and
producer by the name of Toby Gad and he's written
hits like Big Girls Don't Cry with Fergie and all
of Me with John Legend and If I Were a
Boy by Beyonce.
Speaker 6 (04:34):
It's like he's mega, mega talented musical genius. But it's
been amazing getting to work with him again.
Speaker 7 (04:40):
And we've been writing a bunch together and we collaborate
really well together.
Speaker 6 (04:43):
And we did a.
Speaker 7 (04:44):
Little weekend get away writing camp with two other really
talented writers, Will Jay and Emma Rosen and me Will.
Speaker 6 (04:51):
Jy and Toby. One day we were just staring at
the ocean.
Speaker 7 (04:55):
It was so gorgeous, and Toby had this idea to
kind of make this dancy afrobeats track and I loved it.
I was like, summer's coming up, I would love to
make a dance record.
Speaker 6 (05:06):
And we decided to call it Down. And at the
time I was dating someone and so I was very
much in this.
Speaker 7 (05:13):
Headspace of you know when it's like when you're first
getting to know someone and it's like hot and.
Speaker 6 (05:18):
Steamy and flirty, and it's that like, you know, that's
the best feeling experience exactly. So it's kind of drawing
from all those feelings. And then Down was written in
a matter of hours.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Nice. Well, you can hear Down on iHeartRadio or wherever
you get music. Hold on, I'm going to take a
little break when I'm more with Victoria Justice.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Mario Lopez here talking new music with Victoria Justice. And
I know you just dropped a video for your song
raw right. Where'd you film that?
Speaker 7 (05:47):
I filmed it in La Actually the first half of
the video is in black of white and it takes
place Toby actually let me use his house in the hills,
which is really nice of him because his house is
like gorgeous, and then we did the rest of like
a studio downtown.
Speaker 6 (06:02):
But yeah, it was really it was just like a
really chill, fun vibe. I had a good time.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Nice. And when you went to your writing camp, was
that in Mexico?
Speaker 6 (06:13):
That was in Mexico?
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Yeah? Where'd you go? Oh write and bond like in
Ros Rino or where.
Speaker 6 (06:19):
I think I think that area.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Yeah, Baja California. That's cool, that's cool. And now this
song is part of an album or an EP. We're
figuring it out.
Speaker 6 (06:33):
Yeah, we're figuring it out.
Speaker 7 (06:34):
I think like right now, I've kind of just been
writing songs and as I love them, kind of releasing
them waterfowl style. And I think my goal is to
eventually have that lead up to an EP or an album.
But I don't think I'm I don't I think I
have enough music to put out an album quite yet.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
But that is absolutely the ultimate goal.
Speaker 7 (06:53):
It's my dream to create a cohesive body of work
that I'm super proud of.
Speaker 6 (06:57):
So we're working towards that.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Absolutely nice, we'll looking for are hearing it? Hold on
Victoria Gott to play more music right now. Mario Lopez
here hanging out with Victoria Justice and congrats. I hear
you're appearing in the new spin off Suit's La.
Speaker 6 (07:11):
Yeah, I have a little guest fought on that.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
It was very close. And did you shoot that in La,
because I know oftentimes LA's shot Vancouver or something.
Speaker 6 (07:21):
It's it was definitely shot in Vancouver.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Yeah, Oh what s not in Vancouver?
Speaker 6 (07:25):
Yeah, yea Vancouver funny.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
I just I just pulled that out. I don't even
knows it.
Speaker 6 (07:30):
You've been in this business a long time, you know,
looking about his works.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
That's funny.
Speaker 6 (07:35):
Yeah, but it was. It was really fun. The cast
is incredible, Like the sets were amazing. I was blown away.
Speaker 7 (07:40):
I think they're doing the majority of it in Vancouver
and then doing like a week in LA to get like, yeah,
establishing shots, you know, those sorts of things for sure.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
For sure, Well, we'll definitely be looking for you when
that premierees. But right now, we got to play some music.
Speaker 6 (07:55):
You're on.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Mario Lopez got Victoria Justice on Zoom with me, who
just released a new song down And I gotta imagine
releasing music independently now has got to give you a
lot more freedom, right or does it put?
Speaker 6 (08:08):
I mean, I think it's a little bit of both.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Yeah, it's uh.
Speaker 7 (08:11):
It definitely is nice to have the creative freedom to
write whatever I want to write and put it out.
Speaker 6 (08:18):
As I please. And you know, if I want to
make a video, I do it.
Speaker 7 (08:21):
I'm involved in the creative direction of everything, so it's
sometimes a lot of pressure and it's stressful also because
I'm like fully self funded right now, so I'm just
doing it all on my own. But you know it's
I think there's pros and cons to both.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Yeah, No, I love it. And what about what about
touring or performing anything in the works?
Speaker 6 (08:44):
Possibly not at the moment. You know, I toured had
to been like ten years ago, so it's been so
long since I've done that.
Speaker 7 (08:54):
The most recent performance I did was with Toby at
the Hotel Cafe, which is this iconic little ven and
singer songwriter venue in Hollywood, and we did Big Girls
Don't Cry Together, and I loved it. I was I
was honestly very nervous to get back on stage because
it had been so long and I felt so.
Speaker 6 (09:10):
Rusty, and I was very anxious about the whole thing.
Speaker 7 (09:12):
But as soon as I got up there, I was like, Oh,
this is why I love doing this, Like this is
really fun and it was. It was so cool to
have the audience like singing along with me and to
just feel that energy like you can't really, you can't
really ever replace that, you know, it's very special.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
No, you can't beat that at all. Well, I got
one more thing I want to ask you, but we
got to take a little break. I'm gonna wrap it
up with Victoria Justice in just a moment when you're the.
Speaker 8 (09:34):
Full interview now on with Mario dug More Mario Lopez
on the way.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Mario Lopez, You're wrapping things up with today's guest, Victoria Justice.
And You've also got a couple movies on the horizon.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
Depravity is it Depravity?
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Pravity in California King, Right.
Speaker 6 (09:51):
California King.
Speaker 7 (09:52):
Yeah, I mean Depravity is the most recent film project
that I've done.
Speaker 6 (09:56):
I filmed it in Thailand last year. I loved the script.
Speaker 7 (09:59):
It's written by I a writer named Paul Tamnessey who
wrote The Fighter with Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale and
Ministry of the Ministry of Ungentlemanly.
Speaker 6 (10:12):
Warfare I think, which just came out recently.
Speaker 7 (10:13):
He's really a super talented writer and it's like a
very dark, sexy thriller and it definitely pushed me out
of my comfort zone and it was a it was
a dramatic role for me to.
Speaker 6 (10:27):
Step into, and I really enjoyed it. It was fun to
get to do something so different.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Yeah, I bet. And what about California King.
Speaker 7 (10:35):
California King was so much fun to do. I did
that a couple of years ago. Now, you know how
it goes with these indies. Sometimes you know, it's like
it's a great cast. I had a great time making it.
I think the finished product is great, but I don't
know exactly what's happening with it, so hopefully it comes
out soon. I'm just kind of just kind of waiting.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
I know exactly how it goes. Well. Good for you
yet as busy as as you have, and I'm looking
forward to checking out the new music and listen. You
can check out down on iHeartRadio or wherever you get
new music. Victoria, thanks for hanging on, please do.
Speaker 9 (11:07):
Thanks Mario Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Here was some quick buzz for you. Now that Kenya
Moore has left The Real Housewives of Atlanta, another icon
has decided to return. Favorite Parks has signed on for
season sixteen. She hasn't been part of the show since
season nine back in twenty seventeen. Since then, she's appeared
on The Traders and Married to Medicine Ooh okay, professional
(11:42):
reality show contesting. We're going to see how the dynamic
has changed new episodes from here in early twenty twenty five.
Let's get back to music. You're a Mario Lopez. Let's
get to your comments. Would you find today.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
This is from at Little ash tag? Hardy har harr.
This isn't the survey, think it is Casanova. Women may
jump to conclusions, but men need more sleep because they
keep running their mouths like this.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
I knew this was gonna get some uh some. Well
this is what happened.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
You know.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
I like to post certain news articles and I'll put
my little thoughts at the end. So there was a
new study that found that women need more sleep than
men because they use their brain some more throughout the day,
to which I said, well, running around and jump to
conclusions is tiring work. Try to be funny. Ha ha ha.
And now people are giving me a hard time. My
(12:33):
wife is giving me a hard time. But most people
thought it was kind of funny. I wasn't serious. I
was usually just kind of trying to have fun with
those little quips. That's that's only one of the negative
ones I can find. Everyone else kind of got it
as a joke. But little Ashtag, you need to chill
your little ashtag.
Speaker 8 (12:50):
Out, get us up on Twitter, get on with Mario
and hang on more. Mario Lopez on the way.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Mario Lopez here with a quick reminder about the iHeartRadio
Music Festival. Tickets are now on sale. You can get
them at onldmara dot com. September twentieth and twenty first
at the T Mobile Arena in Vegas. Cool lineup two
Big Sean, Camilla Cabello, du Aleipa, Halsey, Hosier, Black Crows,
the new kids and new artists keeps signing on, so
it's only gonna get bigger. Make sure you're part of
(13:18):
the biggest weekend in music right now, though, Let's place
more tunes. Mario Lopez here. And it took a lot
of work to prepare for Celine Dion's big moment at
the Paris Olympics. The silver Dior gown that she wore
during the opening ceremony took a thousand hours to create.
My goodness, that breaks down to four people working eight
hours a day for a month straight. Can you imagine?
(13:39):
Selene's dress had more than a quarter mile of fringe
in thousands of silver beads in the irony. She's only
gonna wear one time, one time, but a billion people
saw it, so I guess it was worth.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
It all right.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Let's get back to the music. Jomar Courney Lopez got
some celebs twenty a year older.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
We're gonna try to get the ages. Rico Rodriguez f
Modern Family.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
We come to the house.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
It was so little when he was at our house.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
So Manny is that Manny?
Speaker 3 (14:06):
Yeah, he has to be now twenty two.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
I was gonna say that. I'm gonna say twenty one,
twenty six, oh, twenty six, I'm full grown. Men from
lowst and Clark Dean Kan Dean Kane gotta be fifty
eight sixty fifty eight is correct.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
Hey from Blade, Wesley Snipes. Wesley is also demolition man.
Sixty sixty two sixty two is correct. Wow, up fire
And finally from Shark Tank, Mark Cuban Pittsburgh.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
That's right, he is with Pitsburg. Cuban's gotta be Oh gosh,
sixty one sixty three sixty six.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
More with Mario Lopez after.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
This, Mario Lopez here and every day is a holiday.
Today we are celebrating National Avocado Day. One of my
favorite fruits. And yes it is a fruit because it
grows on a tree. It every day, have it, literally
every day. Pricey those who eat avocados. Know it's a
little pricey. The Olympic camp no avocados, no French fries.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
Wait, I'm sorry, are those performance enhancing drugs or something?
Speaker 2 (15:20):
They would for some reason just do not offer them.
Maybe because of pricey out in France.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
Maybe And yeah, I thought that was what French fries
in France.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
That's ironic, but yes, that is the truth. Mario Courtney Lopez. Here,
let's put a spotlight on my wife and get Courtney's
random thought. What you got, honey? All right?
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Love this, love this thought, so it's yours. That's why
I love it. Coconuts have hair, flesh, and milk. Therefore
I think coconuts should be mammals.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Oh, I've never thought about it that way. Flesh, yes,
the the I was gonna say pulp, but the inner
workings a coconut, Yeah, what is it like? What would
you know? Where you got? All I know is I
love me some coconuts. The juice and when you just
open it up and start biting it and you get
scrape it out with the tongue. They were great coconuts,
(16:13):
by the way. Not so fun. Fact kill an average
of like nine or twelve people a year. From the
true story jo Mario Lopez. Rebert Wilson's new movie Feud
is a landerer and court.
Speaker 8 (16:27):
With Mario Lopez Hollywood bus.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
So Redel Wilson has been planning to become a director
for the first time with a musical called The Damp,
but now she's in the middle of a legal battle
with the producers of the film. Apparently the riffs started
when she didn't get a screenwriting credit for the movie.
Then Rebel went on social media and accused the producers
of embezzling funds. Oh so they turned around and soon
or for deformation. They say she wasn't on set for
(16:52):
months out of time, leaked info about the movie, and
played victim. Despite all of this, the movie is still
expected to debut at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
That should be quite the premiere. How do you not
show up to work for months out of time? People
were just waiting around for months.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
It seems like a stretch, like I don't know, maybe
after a couple of days it would be like, Okay,
this is unacceptable.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
Yeah, yeah, this sounds kind of fishy. But now I
kind of want to see what the movie's about.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
You're on Mario Lopez town now for one last thing.
A culinary legend has passed away. Roberto Loli Linguinado, Oh
great name. He was the pastry chef who invented tiramissou.
Can you believe that? Seriously? The word legend gets thrown around,
but that is deserving.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
Here.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
He came up with a dessert in the early seventies,
so it hasn't been around that long in northern Italy.
The origin has a bit of an accident. He accidentally
dropped mascarponi into a bowl of sugar and eggs. It
was first published in nineteen eighty three and soon spread
around the world, so it's really pretty recent. It's only
really been around since the eighties. So Roberto, thank you
(18:02):
for making the world of sweeter place.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
Come that. Poor Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
Alright, I'm out of here, but I'm back tomorrow with
actor Russell Crowe. Plus we got a new life hack
in Courtney's Corner. Until then, Mario Lopez saying good night.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
Come on with Mario Lopez
