Zoo from the Backstreet Boys, A J. McLean and Howie Darrow.
Welcome to the show, guys. How are you good? Good? Good?
Great to hear Mann? And and so is this you
guys are heading back to Vegas a very backstreet Christmas party?
So what is it about Vegas that made you want
to do this residency? Everybody wants to be Vegas. I mean, look, everybody.

(00:25):
Vegas is one of those hubs that is global. I
mean people come to Vegas from all over the world.
We are so fortunate enough to have fans all over
the world, um that celebrate Christmas time. So you know,
this is our first holiday show ever, and Vegas has
become a second home to us. That's I mean, it's

(00:45):
Nick's permanent home. He lives there now. So it's gonna
be great for us to finally get back on stage
as five since the pandemic um and what better time
than doing it during the holidays? Will since the shows
take place in November and December, how much of the
set list is Christmas theme? Are you gonna be mixing
in some of your other hits as well? I'm assuming
what can fans expect? Yeah, So we just started wrapping

(01:07):
up right now Christmas record, the first Christmas record of
the Backstreet Boys that we wanted to do for over
twenty something years, and we've actually had a chance to
record some of our favorite classics and give a little
Backstreet twist on them. So we're gonna definitely be performing
all those greatest hits as well as we'll sprinkling a
couple of some Backstreet Boys songs, maybe a little Christmas sized,

(01:27):
but it's a fun show. It's to me a great
ladies night to come out. So and you mentioned you
guys have been working on a Christmas album, So with
so many classic songs to choose from, how did you
pick what songs? Of records? So basically, we we built
this boxing ring and we all went in and I'm
just kidding, um uh no, Basically, I mean look, each

(01:48):
of us filled out individually. Um. I think it was
like twenty or thirty of our favorite Christmas holiday songs.
And then obviously there's gonna be a lot of parallels
amongst us five. And we started narrowing it down, narrowing
it down, narrowing it down, and uh, we picked the
best of the best, and uh we have I want

(02:10):
to say eleven or twelve old classics and hopefully have
some originals as well. So it's a it's a it's
a really great record. UM vocal performance from everybody's fantastic.
The harmonies I think are the best in years. It
sounds incredible. I cannot wait for the world to hear it.
How'd you get in the holiday spirit when you were

(02:32):
recording it during the summer. Yeah, we we started Christmas
and May for the back Street Boys and we uh,
it's it's you know, it was one of the things
that we want to do a Christmas record forever. So
we just you know, we got into the studio out
here in California. The producer Kok and Tommy both put
on a great production that just as soon as we

(02:53):
started hearing the music and brought it, brought you into
the field as well as the studio itself. Cooke decorated
it with Christmas trees and stop things, and we had
the fire burning on the on the what is the
what do they call the Old log or whatever they
call it. Uh, it just naturally as soon as we
walk through the studio. Besides, haven't seeing each other for
over eight months. The best probably Christmas gift we could

(03:15):
give to each other. Uh it was it was naturally
for us just to feel that that that Christmas spirits
as we got there. So what can uh BSB fans
expect from the show that wouldn't be expected? Um, you know,
I think, well, well, well, yeah I was doing I
was doing Christmas music is not your that's not your
typical Backstreet Boys show. But I think I think what's
gonna be cool about the show is, you know, it's

(03:38):
gonna kind of take you on this journey that is
going to basically, you know, end with this with this party.
I mean, we're gonna take you on. You know, there's
gonna be a nice, classic romantic moments, there's gonna be
fun moments, you know, and then we're gonna just hit
you with with just a party experience and hopefully let

(03:59):
everyone leave not only in the holiday spirit, but also
reinvigorate everyone to be excited about the fact that the
DNA Tour is going to be resuming next year and
you know you will see your boys again not only
this holiday but all next year on the DNA tour.
