Speaker 1 (00:00):
On with Mario Lopez. With Mario Lopez, let's welcome to
the studio from Ease hit show The Arrangement. Christine Evangelista,
how are you? How are you doing? I'm doing great.
You look fantastic. Thank you very much. We were just talking.
Uh we're both feeling a little rough man professionals, just
on it, right on it to it a lot to

(00:22):
celebrate though, right now. Congratulations. Season two just kicked off,
and your characters in an arranged relationship with a huge
movie star. He's like in this weird religious group. So
where do we pick up? So we pick up God.
So we've signed the contract. Last season, um declare that
they're in a relationship, and um, a lot of stuff

(00:42):
has happened to Megan. They they're trying to make her
become one of them, so trying to find which way,
which angle to take her, and they kidnapped her last season,
put her in like a solitary confinement and made her
confess a lot of things. So now they basically own her.
So now she's playing along with them, um placating the
situation and looking to expose their corruption and take them

(01:06):
down a lot. So, So how would you describe the
relationship between Megan and Kyle. I think it's it's trying
to be as pure as it can be. You know,
they do love each other. There's a lot of chemistry there,
which is what you know, started this whole thing to
begin with. But we're faced with the question is love enough?

(01:26):
You know? I mean the situation that they're in is
is pretty heavy. There's a lot of people around them,
a lot of control, and you know we'll be be
able to make it through. I don't know, Well, love
should always be enough, right, it should prevail. It should
theoretically speaking at least well, But some of the storyline
gets pretty dark. How is it on set with Josh Henderson?
Do you guys try to keep keep it pretty light

(01:47):
on set to kind of balance out the material? You
have fun? I mean, they are very long days and
the material is pretty dark, and as you see this
season two, it gets a lot darker. Um, so we
try to make as much fun on set as Paul sable.
We hang out a lot on weekends, basically hang out
all the time. Yeah, well that's a good sign off camera.
It is right because you're working like seventeen days, as

(02:09):
you know, so it's kind of like sometimes you're like,
go away, right, right, you need a time out and
I need a time out, But no, it's always time
on nice And I know you also spent some time
on The Walking Dead. That must have been a cool experience.
Was amazing. It's such a great show. I'm like, I'm
so grateful to be a part of such a phenomenon.
There was actually one week that I went from filming

(02:31):
The Walking Dead to the Arrangement, which was kind of crazy. Yeah,
you're dealing with like these two very different worlds literally
covered in dirt and then next you know, dripped in tour.
So it's that was fun that right. Yeah. And and
do you still keep up with the show The Walking Dead?
Oh for sure, for sure. Um, yesterday we were talking

(02:53):
about your crazy day. You went from the I Heart
Radio Music Awards Jeff on there. I had a blast.
It was my first music award show I've ever been to.
It's great. I mean it's like a whole other thing,
Like you know, you go to an actor's awards show.
It's much more formal and that it's like you literally
have like a party, b just like oh god, kicking ass.
It was great. It was a performance well, look, I'm

(03:16):
a huge eminem fan, and so to see him on stage,
I was like, oh, what do you think got that beard? Uh?
You know you do? You M? Yeah, you do. He
looked like Halsey with the beard. Hious. Well, you know
the thing with him is he's he's older than me,

(03:39):
So I guess you can keep rapping. Are no rules.
You don't see old rappers, right, but you know it's
not like Tony Bennett, who you could be a crooner.
You know, you don't see rappers generally, Yeah, exactly, you
generally don't see old rappers, right. There's like that, there's
like a usual cut off age and stuff. But m
continues to or to kind of push those boundaries and

(04:01):
love them. That's why he's got the hens the beer.
Other time, UM, I was reading that you're a huge
animal rights advocate. I am. Spent some time in Thailand. Yeah,
I did working on the Asian elephants. What's going on
the Asian elephants. A lot of people focus on um, right,
which is very important, of course we should put it

(04:22):
into that. But there's there's there's drama. They are in
their bread in captivity and a lot of the people
that own. The elephants don't really have the financial resources
to take care of them. They also don't know how
to take care of them. And a lot of the
way that they uh, it's very violent. It's a very violent,

(04:43):
systemic violence going on within Thailand, and there's not but
it's just now they're just captive. They're almost like pets
and things. They used to be used for the logging industry,
but since the logging band in the eighties, Um, there's
no way for people to make money off of their elephants.
So it's just kind of they're just kind of like
a like a dog they're having And then there's also um,

(05:08):
you know, the tourist industry to where they're there in
these very harsh living conditions. Yes, and that's not good
for elephants. Elephants are incredibly intelligent, um, very sweet, very smart,
you know, and and they're not they're not taking care
of their Wow, that's amazing. I had no idea. It's
it's pretty fascinating to think that these elephants got to

(05:31):
this island. Right, how did you get that? Yeah? From
way back in the day. How did you like? In general?
It beautiful, it's really really beautiful. That people are so sweet. Um,
it's just har so great. It's just hard to see that.
And it's also hard to know how little elephants there
are left over there. Also, they're not really surviving and

(05:51):
they're not getting they're not getting very old. Well that's cool,
you're raising awareness, Yeah, for sure. How many pets do
you have? Do you have any? I have one rescue dog.
His name's Buddy, and I would love more, uh, and
I intend to get more. It's definitely tough and you
can't really fly with many dogs. But I foster a
lot too, and that's kind of my way to having
more dogs without having more dogs, and to get them

(06:14):
out of the shelter and before they go into their
forever homes as we call it, there's like a transition
phase and just to pull them out of this child
like a couple of dogs and like helm dog. Yeah,
and I I suggest that to people, whether they're on
the fence, they're not sure if they want to adopt,
if they don't know, if they could make the commitment
like foster for a couple of weeks. You're doing the

(06:35):
dog a favor. You're gonna love it, and like that's
my because your other dog have attitude when he's like
other dogs. No, you know, you've got to make sure
you get everyone attention right. But Buddy's but he's cool.
He knows, he knows the ropes. He's like, I've been there, kid,
I know. I'm glad you got out of the pig pen.
Look at all I'm learning from you. There's there's elephants
in danger in Thailand. You can foster dogs that fascinating.

(06:59):
Are you? Are you romantically involved with anyone right now?
Are you serious? You're just having fun? I'm having I
don't know if it's fun, but I'm I'm single, Okay,
no one special fun. How you like the dating scene?
It's hard. It's definitely hard, as you know, Like is
it hard because of you? Because your schedule? Yeah, it's
definitely hard because the schedule. You would imagine it being

(07:19):
hard for you, young, beautiful, successful, seemed to be. It's
hard to find, like the right match, Like, I don't
like to waste my time, so I'm not going to
date someone if I don't really, So what kind of
guy you like? Smart guys? I like smart guys, and
I like guys that either come from a good family
or value family. Those are like the two the most
important things that I've learned in my experience. But you
want someone smart, you're smart? Money? Thanks? Yeah, but okay,

(07:42):
I'll get like superficial with me. What do you like
him them? I like him tall, dark, and handsome. Okay, Okay,
they're smart, funny, tall, dark and handsome. All right. I'm
because I like to play Cupid. I'm gonna keep that.
I'm keep me in mind somewhere. Anyone, were you from
New York? I grew up in Staten Island? Okay? And

(08:03):
how do you like it on here? I love it.
I I just got a place in Venice Beach. Okay.
It's funny because all the East Coasters always want to
go to the beach exactly. It's the natural changes in
all Right, I'm gonna move to California. I'm gonna do it.
You know, I'm gonna I have to go buy the water. Yeah,
good for you. A bunch of weirdos too, which is
probably why I like. It's like you get the weirdos
from New York. It's like we're just on the beach now, Okay,
who are different kind of weirdos? Though? I think they're

(08:26):
like no they're definitely all right before I let you
go and put you on the spot. Quick questions but answers,
all right, okay, celebrity cruds growing up Jonathan Taylor Thomas
j T. Yeah, I had my team beat poster. Oh
that's great TV. Guilty pleasure, Real Housewives of New York

(08:48):
just that particular franchise or the whole deal. I love
the whole deal in particular rules. Really into that right now,
An't that amazing? And my wife same thing, my sister. Really,
I'm I can't believe I'm confessing this right now. No,
it's guilty. Go to karaoke song on New York, New York.
But I like live piano karaoke. Oh another thing I've learned.

(09:12):
Are you kidding me? Because like a tutorial. Wait, there's
piano karaoke New York. That there is. I was only
a fan of Korean Karaoke's good? You are you familiar
with that? At a Korean bar? Well, it's it's okay
because I won't do karaoke like a huge setting with
a bunch of random strangers. The Korean karaokee. We're here
in Koreatown. You go in like private rooms were just

(09:32):
like your home. Yeah, you know, I love that. I'm
saying I'm a private room. I'm a private room guy.
To let it all hang out. Yes, yes, embarrass yourself there.
You know you're an idiot your friends. That doesn't matter.
Nickname growing up Evangelista. People call me Evangelista all the time.
It's rather long, but by the last name. That's my move,
like the military evangelista. Who plays you in your life story? Oh?

(09:55):
Good question. You know I'm a big Nami Watts fan.
I mean it's a I don't think that's going to
work from an age. You can cast whoever you want,
all right, I can go back in time. She's just
so great. Yeah, she's great, great acting. I'm sure she'd
nail it. Let's check. Don't forget to check out the
arrangement Sundays on e and you can follow her on
