Speaker 1 (00:00):
Please, you're on with Mario Lopez. So you're with Mario
Lopez joining me right now on Zoom. From Grey's Anatomy
actresses Jessica Capshaw and Camilla Luddington, How are you, ladies?

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Hello?

Speaker 3 (00:11):
Good, Thank you for taking the time.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Now.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Y'all are actually best friends in real.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Life, and which is always cool when you when you
get to work with somebody, actually, like, that's always a
lot of fun, and it inspired you to create this podcast.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Call it what it is? What's it about?

Speaker 4 (00:31):
Big question? Very big question. It's an existential question.

Speaker 5 (00:34):
Really, No, it's about I mean, you're exactly right, and
I know that you've gotten to work with so many
of your good friends and it makes it so much
better because you have a shorthand with each other and
you know that you're being met with someone who's going
to assume positive intent, who is going to understand that
you're on their team, and also be able to maybe

(00:56):
say some things that other people won't and maybe because
of that relationship, you have a certain privilege with them, right, Like,
it's just that, it's that, it's that it's it's not
brutal honesty.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
It's the opposite of brutal honesty.

Speaker 5 (01:08):
It's kind honesty, and it's the kind that makes you
feel like you have someone in your corner at all times.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
So that's where, Yeah, we're calling it like it is
with our viewer, with our listeners.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
So they write into us, they share with us their stories,
their problems, and we're sort of building out our friendship
circle to include them and call it what it is,
and call it.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
What it is, all right? I like that.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Yeah, you're right though, because it is disarming. You can
you can be vulnerable with each other and other people
get a chance to see side of you that maybe
they haven't yet.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
What What are some topics you're touching on?

Speaker 4 (01:39):
We've touched on so many. We have a wider ray Mario.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Well, we've had recently during Spooky season, we had Teresa
Caputo on the show along I don't know if you've
gotten I've gotten.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
I've had her on the show numerous time. God bless her.

Speaker 6 (01:53):
I love her.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Or hair gets bigger every time.

Speaker 5 (01:54):
I know time And that was an incredible Uh, that
was an incredible episode.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
But we had a million guests too, We've had.

Speaker 5 (02:03):
We started with Mandy Moore, we got Davis, Julian Hutt
at the beginning of Dancing with the Stars season, which
is very w we had people from Graves Anatomy like
Sarah Drew, Kristen kind of what's going to come on?

Speaker 4 (02:17):
We can talk about all the witches.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Yeah, and then we have like we have I don't
know if I can say this, but we have episodes
that are about sex toys.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Yeah, that's I'm just curious. We run the gamut, you
have an episode about it. You just you discuss what's
out there or what's what.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
We discussed the merch and we brought on a professional.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
We brought on someone who owns a sex toy shop
and who was incredibly fluent and very knowledgeable.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
I mean I think that say what her name is?
Her name is the dildo Duchess Mario.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
Yeah, it's true. That is, you know, what fantastic handle
for an Instagram.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
But you know, I mean I think that the other piece,
I think part of the reason and there'll be many
parts I think to some of these themes. But it's
like we wanted to dive in because there's so many
things that people feel.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Like they can't talk about.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
Yeah, I mean sex being one of them, right, But
why and can and because isn't there a respectful way
to speak about everything?

Speaker 4 (03:19):
Isn't that where we should be?

Speaker 3 (03:20):
I agree.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
I think if you come from an authentic place and
you're honest with each other, there should be a healthy
dialogue that you have a back and forth. So yeah,
I'm sure you're helping a lot of people, and at
the same time, it's probably therapeutic for the both of you.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
That's really cool.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
One thing that I'm fascinated in because I saw the
documentary and I was just blown away. I know in
a recent episode you discussed former Grays writer Elizabeth Finch.
Have you I'm assuming you've seen Anatomy of Lives?

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Wait, so I'm curious. I'm curious you watched the documentary.
What did you think about it?

Speaker 4 (03:47):
After you?

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Did?

Speaker 4 (03:48):
You watch the whole thing?

Speaker 3 (03:49):
The whole thing?

Speaker 1 (03:50):
I thought she was the most diabolical woman I've ever
seen in my life. And the fact that at least
at the end I didn't follow up, but it appears
like she didn't suffer any real consequences ruining these lives.
And that poor woman with the family and all that,
and I doubt her brother did that. And then the
poor guy with the vampire diaries and all that, and

(04:11):
then the stab of Grays. I can't even imagine being
on the show and be like, yo, she did what
and how that's gotta be. That's a lot of hard work.
You're using your memory, you're lying that often. I was
blown away.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
What were your thoughts? Did you'll work with her?

Speaker 4 (04:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (04:24):
We both did, so you knew her absolutely, yeah, and
on the daily And was she just she's just lying
on the daily or what?

Speaker 4 (04:33):
Well? I mean, but think about it.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
If someone is coming to you with that story and
has that kind of hardship in their life.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Why would you question it exactly?

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Why would you ever be suspicious?

Speaker 6 (04:43):
You would you ever ever if they have to excused
themselves for whatever reason, all you would do, hopefully, and
certainly what we did was throw love at it, right,
throw and empathy.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
So it's it's you're exactly right.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
Diabolical sounds right, you know, it feels feel's and at
the very least, I mean, just from a personal standpoint,
it's it's really hurtful, absolutely a lot of your you
You want the hours back that you spent worrying about her.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
She was like Forrest Gump though, and that she inserted
herself in anything that was going on, whether it was
the shooting at the synagogue, whether it was something at
the Tube movement, I'm like, yo, this this is bunkers.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
When I was watching, I thought it was so crazy.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Yeah, I think watching it in the documentary was such
a surreal, out of body experience.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
I was like, I only watched the first episode. I
couldn't get through the next two.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
I was like sweating, and I said to Jessica on
our podcast, it felt like I was watching myself in
a dateline episode. And by the way, in these dateline episodes,
you always think, oh my god, I would know that
person's lying, and so to watch herself in an episode
where you feel like I really, I truly believed everything.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
I believe everything. She was someone I loved and now
I don't even know who that person is.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
No, I mean, why would you question that?

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Like you said earlier, of course, not got to question
that you're gonna lead with love and be supportive and
stuff that, because no one's that sick to usually lie
about that sort of thing. But it was one right
after another, the relentless lies. I was like, damn, that
was wild, and I was fascinated so I started, I said,
I wonder she's on social now she's all private.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
Yeah. I still have a hard time actually putting the
two together. I have a hard time.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
I have the person that I knew, and then it's
hard for me to imagine that those things were alive.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
Like I still my brain can't really quite grasp it yet.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Yeah. No, it's just I was. I was blown away
and it's just fascinating that world right there.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Man, that is that is such a trip. Well, your
your podcast sounds super cool, ladies.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
How often you do it? Thank you once a week
or we do.

Speaker 4 (06:51):
It twice a week?

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (06:52):
We have one main episode that drops on Sunday nights,
and then we have a shortened sweet episode that drops
on Wednesdays.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Yeah, the short and sweet.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Well, congratulations and listen.
