Speaker 1 (00:00):
By with Maria little Bit, It's up you all, and
Mario Lopez joining me now on Zoom. Five time Grammy
winner Shania Twain, Welcome to the show, Shanai. How are you?
Thank you? I'm great? Are you good? I am good?
Thank you for asking. Um. I was actually in Vegas
this past weekend and it was so cool to see
the casinos full, of the restaurants full people out in about.
(00:23):
It was like, uh, a semblance of normalcy and happy
to hear you're gonna be returning to Vegas with a
big residency. Let's go is the name of it. I
love that expression. Um. It sounds like a big party. Huh,
what's in store? I mean, I feel like I should
be calling it let's go nuts because people are ready,
(00:43):
and I feel so explosive about it. I just think
it's like the day before Christmas, your night before Christmas.
You can't sleep. You're like, it's so far away, and
we've already pushed our patients so far, already right waiting, waiting, waiting,
you think so anyway, I feel like it's going to
be a big, big, big moment and I can't wait.
(01:05):
I'm looking forward to it. I'll be there with I'll
be hyperactively they're awesome. Well, I know people are ready
to party and let loose obviously being cooped up for
about a year. It's gonna it's gonna be so much fun. Um,
big catalog, you got, what do you decide to use
on your set list or do you like to mix
it up? Well, I'm gonna do all the kids, So
(01:27):
whatever language you speak doesn't matter. We're all going to
be able to sing together. Um. And yeah, I mean
you know, I mean we're going to be hi kicking
and dancing to fun everything, you know. So yeah, it's
gonna be fun and some of these shows. But in
December because it's like, you know, the seasonal I was
(01:50):
just going to that. Yeah, I'm gonna add a little
bit of you know, like seasonal holiday flair, holiday were
what I wanted to say. Yeah, and also Valentine's Day,
so maybe perhaps romantic ballots. Oh no, I'm gonna go
I'm gonna do a very thematic day um on Valentine's
(02:12):
Day obviously three fourteen about that. Um, yeah, so romantic
time at my show for sure. Well that's uh, that's
a that's a great date night right there. And Shan.
I know you're also part of this new Netflix series
This is Pop. What's your episode all about? Ah? Well,
I mean I'm a crossover artist. So the fun thing
(02:33):
for me is, um, like so many of my idols
and only part and like Ann Murray. Um, I mean,
you know, many many artists. Everybody says, oh, Shaneia, you
know you're the Um, You're the trailblazer to Da Dada.
It's like, no, I am following in the footsteps of
(02:54):
many trailblazers and crossing from pop to country. And um,
I mean it's a it's a I gues said, I'd
say it's a privilege. Yeah, absolutely. I mean you mentioned
Dolly Parton and yeah, I guess. Um she was one
of the first to really do it in a big level.
Then I feel like there was a break and then
(03:14):
you sort of came on the scene in a big
way and kind of paved the way for like the
Taylor Swifts and what have you. Well, let's not forget
I will Always Love You. So started off as a
Dolly Parton Um, I mean still is, of course, but
like a very typical country ballad for Dolly Parton, and
that ends up crossing over, just the song crossing over
(03:38):
and Whitney Houston taking it to a whole other stratosphere.
So the crossover world is uh, it's a blessing. And
like Dolly always says, I mean, she's always so grateful
about it. Um, two different versions and I'm just lucky
to be you know, um country and yeah, that was
(03:59):
the best of both the worlds. Are it? There? Um?
I didn't realize you're a big Brittany fan. Oh, of
course I've seen Brittany three times already lives it's done.
But yeah, I love her. Have you been following this
whole free Brittany movement? Of course, it's fascinating, right. I
(04:20):
would love to meet up with Brittany again. I just
want to ask her her own reality. Um. But I
think she's you know, she's a doll. She's a lovely person. Um,
super talented and um, yeah, she's she's a sweetheart. I'm
sure you two cross path. She she lives in Vegas.
(04:40):
She stays in Vegas. There. Um, and how about your
son Holdes He now, wow, nineteen years old. What's he
into music? Oh? He's a music guy. Okay, plays, he plays,
he sings, he produces, he's mostly, um, a composed and
an arranger and a producer. Well, that's awesome. That's about it,
(05:04):
and that's about music. I'm I'm sort of like on
the fence about it. No, I'm I'm very happy for him,
but it's you know, I mean, music is a hard road. Um,
but it's great in a sense that we share and
and we understand each other on the same sort of
like um creative page. Oh, that's awesome. That makes it
a lot of fun. Well, congratulations on the new residency.
(05:26):
