Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mario fun with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
So brought Mario Lopez joining on Zoom my girl from
MAXSS Hollywood and American Ninja Warriors. Zuri Hall.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
Welcome to the show, Zuri, Hi Mario.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
Longtime, no see, It's been like twelve hours since we
were last on set together.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
I know, I know, I'm sure you have Mario overload
at this point, but no, never, That's what I'm talking about.
Before we get to the show. We got to talk
about your ig adventures. When you're partying in France, man,
that's the best gig right there. I saw you popping bottles.
Were you kicking it with Ronaldo and Steve Nash?
Speaker 1 (00:34):
What's up with that?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
So every year I go out to co emc a
gala for Patrick Mugrotoglu.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
He was Serena's coach for many of her.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Most incredible and impressive years, and he has an awesome
foundation that helps support young tennis prodigies who basically are
the future. So Coco Goff is one of the most
recent tennis prodigies to come out of his academy. We
auctioned off her signed racket that she used to win
the US Open this year. And it's fun and everyone's
(01:05):
in the South of France. They're partying it up. Champagne
is flowing, Tennis is being played, not by me because
I'm not particularly athletic.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
But the good time, I bet it is.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
I bet it. What's up with the French dudes out there?
How do you like them?
Speaker 1 (01:18):
I mean, I like the French jukes and the French
dudes like me.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
I bet they do.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
May I love a man with an accent. So I
was definitely in my element. It was it was a
lot of fun. You know, we're outside, we're mingling in summer.
So you do you, you do you well?
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Congratulations. Season sixteen of American Ninja Warrior is in full swing.
What's been the most exciting part about this season?
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Ooh, what's most exciting about this season? You know? I
mean every year we kind of raise the stakes.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
The obstacle courses get crazier, they get bigger, a million
dollars of course on the line every single year. And
what's really cool is we have a lot of the
older ninjas who are still you know, doing their things
out there, but then these new ninjas.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
The younger ones. Our age limit has been lower to
fifteen years old.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
So we get these kids who grew up in Ninja
Junior and now they are beasting it on the course.
So it's kind of fun to see the ogs, the
vets versus you know, the rookies or the new kids
on the block. But yeah, you can expect more what
you love at the end of the day, it's a
family show. I love that it's multi generational. You can
watch it with the kids, you can watch it with white,
you can watch it with your grandparents. It just runs
(02:28):
the gamut. So that's my favorite thing about it, and
there's going to be more of that for sure this summer.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Speaking of kids, somebody sent me American Ninja Camp for
my son. They said, your son would like that, and
I was like, whoa, that's cool. I can't believe they
got these full on camps where these kids could learn
all the courses.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Can I go to that?
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Yeah, I know it sounds like fun. I think they
do have adults, but they do do, but they do.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Yeah, the kids all across the country, So adults can
go train at gyms. Kids train at the gyms and
then they have their own little pop up Ninja competitions
throughout the year. So that they can stay in shape
because the thing about Ninja is they work all year,
they train all year. You go up to that course,
you get one shot, you mess up, you go down. Yeah,
you got to try again next year. So they have
(03:16):
this whole culture around it so they can train.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
So the kids are going to do it well.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
I think my son Dominic could want to actually think
it'd be really good. I mean, the dude, he's an
athletic little guy, and he taught us how to do
backflip and he's strong, so I think he do.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
I think you do really well right there. So I'm
gonna have to check that out. And I know you've
had Olympic athletes compete on the course. Are they killing
or are they struggling just as much as the other guys,
Because I remember back in the day rock climbers were
the guys. Rock climbers were really pot because they're strong hands.
I remember they they like to have strength is.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Really important, upper body strength because you're just like swinging
your body so many things, the salmon ladders nuts.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
What's funny is people who.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Are professional athletes will get up there and be like,
I'm about to crush this course, Like I do this
in my sleep, right and they will face plan it first, second,
third obstacle. But because it's just a different type of sport,
it requires different muscles.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
A different mindset. So yeah, we get some Olympians up there,
but that doesn't mean they're going for gold.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
You gotta watch, but yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, Well,
speaking of going for gold, Ninja course is actually being
considered for the for the Games. That'd be that's come
a long way. That'd be awesome right there. And I
know you're going to be going for Paris, right you're
going back to Paris.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
I told you the French they're they're calling me.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
I have to answer the golf a week before the Olympics.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Uh, Mario, you'll be here in La right now.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
I'm the only one not going boot with the knife.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
It's okay. I'll bring you back in Croissant.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
But yeah, we'll be out there doing some lifestyle coverage,
hanging out with some of the Olympians and just getting
people excited leading up to the Games in Paris.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
So yes, member, ray and hit the.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Road, hit the road right there. You're also going to
be hosting the Macy's Fourth of July fireworks for NBC.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
That's cool. Where's so that's.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
In New York. It's super exciting. I'm co hosting alongside
Mickey Guiden and she's incredible, really dope country artist. I'm
just also a really nice person. We're friendly. It's a
two hour live event. It's airing July fourth, eight pm
Eastern and Pacific on a VC and then we'll also
simulcast it live on Peacock.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
And it's really.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Cool because we're like right by the water. We get
this crazy fireworks display. We have a ton of performers.
Last year, Ashanti and John Rule were two of the performers.
We had a I think it was a Tina Turner tribute.
This year, Lady Wilson is performing. I love her music.
I love a little country moment. I think we've got
Louis Fonsie also performing.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
Like they're very cool, so it'll be fun. Nice.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
Well, congrats on that. Hey, you know, I think you're
a great catch right there, but you're you're currently single.
The dating scene, what's it like right now? You do
the online thing?
Speaker 1 (05:53):
You know, I'm on the dating I'm on one dating app.
I actually be really good people.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
I'm also someone who in joys like I'm ready for
the next chapter.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Absolutely, I'm ready.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
We talk about this like you give me some guy advice,
some that I don't listen to.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
I mean, I'm the best guy to give you advice.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
Been there, I've done that.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
Come from a place. Now I'm like settled, so I
know exactly and you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Make an advice? Can you steer me through some interest?
Speaker 2 (06:20):
You should listen to me more than anyone as a
matter of fact.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Okay, maybe I'll start considering more.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
You know I listening to you when you actually set
me up with a good stand up guy.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
You're always giving me advice.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
How about you put me at a dinner with a nice,
handsome young man.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Not even him.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
You gotta be that young, emotionally available who is kind
and ambitious and emotionally intelligent and ready for a serious relationship.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
The problem is that all my friends are degenerates and
don't fall into that category. But I will keep my
eyes open. Whoever that lucky man is will be just
that very lucky if it gets to kick it with you. Meanwhile,
American Ninja Warrior eras Monday on NBC and Peacock Surrey,
thanks for hanging out.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Thanks Mario. All Right, Doddy, I'll see it a little bit.
You get on my nerves. Bye, look Bye with Mario
Lopez
