That's right, It's Monday. Back to the work week. If
you're in a tri state there in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut,
the weather is disgusting, and not only that, the un
is in town. So it's a gridlock alert day, which
means that it's gonna be extra traffic. You gotta give
yourself extra time and the President is in town, so
it's a lot going on in New York.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
So traffic is crazy early.
Speaker 9 (01:07):
So Charlemagne got caught up in that traffic, so he'll
be here in a second. Let me salute to everybody
in Harlem. Drop a bomb for Harlem. Over the weekend,
me and my family got a chance to I guess.
We hosted the premiere in screening of Poor Patrol movie,
the new movie that's coming out on the twenty ninth,
and we did it only for the First Responders. So
(01:30):
if you don't know what Poor Patrol is, there's a
bunch of dogs that are like superheroes. They're like police officers, firefighters,
everything and they go and they saved the world. Kids
love Poor Patrol. But we were able to do a
screening just for the first responders, which was pretty cool.
We did it at Magic Johnson Theater out in Harlem,
so that was pretty dope.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
It don't move. My kids loved it, had an amazing time,
so salute to them.
Speaker 9 (01:51):
And then after that we went to the Hbcuny Classic
game Albany State versus More House. Great games. So many
people in attendance. I seen Anthony Anderson and I've seen
former Giant Tuck. So many people were there. It was
just a great game. It was great to see everybody
from different HBCUs and fraternities and sororities. People are bringing
their kids and their grandparents. So shout to out, but
(02:14):
shout to everybody involved in that HBCU n Y Classic.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
It was just a week of events.
Speaker 9 (02:19):
If you really want to know about an HBCU or
thinking about putting your child, or you're thinking about going
to an HBCU event, that is definitely event you want
to check out.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Because it's not just the game.
Speaker 9 (02:28):
They had step shows, they had band challenging challenges. Big
Daddy Kane performed halftime. They have financial literacy courses career
Day where they give scholarships away.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
It was a lot going on.
Speaker 9 (02:40):
So again, salute to everybody involved with the HBCU n
Y Classic. All right, now, let's get the show cracking.
Toya and Regine will be joining us this morning. They
have a new show, a new reality show on where
we're gonna be talking to them about that, and then
Front Page News with Teslin Figaro is next. Charlamagne to
be here in a minute, so don't go anywhere. It's
the breakfast Club on beat eighteen.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Oh, this is Drake. Oh vio oh vio eli.
Speaker 9 (03:05):
This is Drake scissors the breakfasts come, come on and
drop abot to somebody.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
All right, that was Drake's scissor. Morning everybody.
Speaker 9 (03:12):
It's theej n V. Charlamagne, the guy. We are the
breakfast Club. Let's get in some front page news, all right.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Let's start off with sports.
Speaker 9 (03:21):
In the last night, the Ravens beat the Bengals, the
Coach beat the Texans, the Seahawks beat the Lions, Buccaneers
beat the Bars, the Chiefs beat the Jaguars, the Bills
beat the Raiders out, the Falcons beat the Packers, Titans
beat the Charges, forty nine has beat the Rams, the
Cowboys beat the Jets. My Giants are on the winning streak.
It might be only one game, but we on the
winning streak. They beat the Cardinals last night, thirty one
(03:42):
twenty eight. They came back. They were down twenty nothing
by the half. I thought it was a rap. I
adn't even gonna front our Commanders beat the Broncos, and
the Dolphins beat the Patriots. And also we got a
salute to prime time Deon Sanders his team, Colorado Buffaloes
beat the Colorado State Rams forty three thirty five. Congratulations.
They were on a three game winning streak. Salutes now, Warning.
Speaker 10 (04:03):
Test, Good morning, DJ, and I was just gonna say,
you're not gonna talk about from time.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Of course, of course.
Speaker 10 (04:09):
I was watching it, and uh, you know, he said
a couple of weeks ago that he thanks the hood
for having his back. Yeah, you go watch it, you
know on the sports bar, Black sports bar.
Speaker 11 (04:18):
I'm telling you, it's just all the way turned up.
It's an event.
Speaker 9 (04:21):
Yeah it was. It was a late game this week,
but yeah, it was. I love to see everybody going
out there and support them. I seeing master P at
the game, Little Wayne, I've seen Offset, I seen key
Lock and a bunch of people get out going out
there to support him.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
So it's pretty dope. Let's jump right into it now.
Speaker 9 (04:35):
Let's talk about this huge strike against these big three
auto makers.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Yeah, we were.
Speaker 11 (04:40):
Waiting on this.
Speaker 10 (04:41):
On Friday Friday, at midnight, the United Auto Workers historic
strike started going on now for about four days. Let's
take a listen to the report, and I want to
give you some more information on the other side.
Speaker 12 (04:52):
United auto Workers walked off the job at three plans
belonging to the nation's big three automakers.
Speaker 10 (04:58):
We mean business, it's time to make a higher wage.
Speaker 12 (05:03):
Facilities in Missouri, Ohio, and Michigan the first targets of
the UAW strike beginning one minute after their labor contract
expired with Ford, General Motors and Stilantis.
Speaker 13 (05:15):
It's about getting their share in our share of economic justice.
Speaker 9 (05:20):
Yeah, So what are they asking for in these negotiations?
What is the biggest concern?
Speaker 10 (05:25):
Yeah, And you know, like so many others strikes that
we've seen this year, it always, you know, comes down
main one to pay. So they're asking for forty percent
increase in pay for the work week, pension for hourly employees.
And right now DJ invY they're only earning about five
hundred dollars for strike pay. So when Posomon strike, it's
not like they get their regular pay. So they're willing to,
(05:46):
you know, basically lose pay in order to take this
stay in. So big deal, particularly in Detroit for those
who are in Detroit, you know, calling during get it
off your chest because I really want to see how
this is impacting Detroit and the economy there. But when
we talk has effecting the economy. They say that it's
not likely to push the nation into a recession at
least you know where it is now. But the ultimate
(06:07):
impact will depend on how long the strike lasts. It
depends on how many companies layoff workers, how long they
stay off their job, how long it's going to take
to negotiate a deal. But to give you an example
right now, if they strike for ten days, it would
cost the economy five billion dollars. And that's only with
about twelve thousand people striking DJ ANDV. There are over
(06:28):
one hundred and forty six thousand employees that could strike,
So this could certainly be a major impact. But the
U a W President, who you just heard, he said
that they're not going to wreck the economy. He said,
this is about wrecking the billionaire economy. But economists disagreed.
They said that this will definitely, you know, depend on
how long it will last. It could definitely make a difference.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
Yeah, I think it's very scary.
Speaker 9 (06:48):
I think when you have people striking, when this economy
is already in bad shape, people are already living.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Check to check.
Speaker 9 (06:54):
The prices of gasoline is going up, the prices of
food is going up. How could these people survive if
they're taking you know, if they're striking, if they're taking
days off, if they're not getting paid, how can they
you know pay for you know, tuition and healthcare and
making sure that they're babies and babysitter. And then not
only that, you know a lot of people, they're not
gonna be able to make cars. So how does that
affect these these car manufacturers as well? Because people won't
(07:17):
be They're not gonna wait for four, They're not gonna
wait for GM. They're gonna buy uh, some of these
foreign cars, whether it's a Honda, whether it's a Toyo
to whether it's you know, somebody in competition with four,
GM and those other brands. So I just wonder how
this helps to come out this this the economy, and
it's definitely gonna hurt yeah, and you and.
Speaker 10 (07:35):
You and you also bring up an interesting point because
when we talk about the strike with the actors in Hollywood,
this also creates an opportunity for AI to get more involved, right,
you know, and start replacing folks. And so when you're
taking a chance to say, hey, do we you know,
take a strike because of willing to push the line
but also you know, knowing that you're could be risking
(07:55):
the position in the self.
Speaker 11 (07:56):
But I'm I am in support of the strike.
Speaker 10 (07:58):
Gu I'm in support of the auto workers and any
you know American that feels you know, they mean more
from that work. I just want to give just a
couple of just fyis. As I was digging into the
story about the strikes, and I'm glad you brought up medical.
I'm going to talk about some medical debt in the
second hour, but right now, and doctor Cornell West brought
this up, and when we had them on the on
(08:19):
the air, you know, saying if everything's going so well,
why are there's so many strikes? So for right now,
we've had just this year long Hollywood writers, nurses, factory workers, Starbucks,
thousands of workers have went on strike and even threatened
to go on strike by ups. I think it was
a three hundred and forty thousand employees said they were
going to go on strike. So so far this year,
there has been nearly four hundred and sixty thousand workers
(08:41):
that have walked off the job at some point just
this year alone, and it's been the highest since twenty
and eighteen. So a lot is happening, and we can
keep pretending like all is well, but all is not well.
You know, if we're having this many strike I think
said two hundred and seventy strikes or something like that
just in this year long.
Speaker 9 (08:58):
Wow, All right, well that is page news. Now get
it off your chest, tess. We'll see in a couple
of minutes. Eight hundred five eight five one oh five one.
If you need to vent phone lines to wide open again.
Eight hundred five eight five one oh five one. Maybe
a coworker is a little late, Maybe a favorite football
team didn't went over the weekend. Whatever it may be.
Eight hundred five eight five one oh five one. Get
(09:18):
it off your chest. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning,
the Breakfast Club, right right.
Speaker 14 (09:26):
Ray, yo, Charlae mac davy, what up.
Speaker 15 (09:28):
Are we lying?
Speaker 3 (09:29):
This is your time to get it off your chest.
Speaker 14 (09:31):
I got an indoor pool, door pool.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
We want to hear from you on the breakfast Club.
Speaker 14 (09:35):
Get on the phone right now here.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Tell you what it is we lie, whoa who's this man? Okay,
what's up?
Speaker 16 (09:42):
Brother?
Speaker 3 (09:43):
Get it off your chest.
Speaker 10 (09:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 16 (09:44):
You've been doing the car show for what six years?
Speaker 3 (09:48):
About five years?
Speaker 16 (09:49):
I think five year and you said, you love seven
five seven so much?
Speaker 2 (09:53):
I do.
Speaker 14 (09:54):
You never bought a class show the seventh fist seven?
Speaker 3 (09:57):
Yeah, I know, I know.
Speaker 17 (09:58):
We've been.
Speaker 18 (09:58):
We've been.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
We've been trying to to figure it out and work
it out.
Speaker 9 (10:02):
So the problem with the car show in the seven
five seven is just getting the right time and right
date and trying to find the right venue because you know,
I do my car shows indoors, so if it rains
or if there's any any anything with mother nature, we
can still have the car show. Because it costs a
lot to bring the car shows down there with the
kids rides and things like that.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
We're trying to get the perfect venue.
Speaker 9 (10:20):
We were looking at the Hampton Coliseum at one time,
but we trying, Brother, were trying.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
I was trying to do it around homecoming one year.
I'm trying. I swear I try, seven five seven.
Speaker 14 (10:28):
We need a car show.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
I'm gonna try. I'm gonna try to get it done.
Speaker 14 (10:31):
Brother, Yeah, this pain from Pete Town whatever.
Speaker 9 (10:34):
I'll be down there for Hampton home coming this year though,
definitely that's what fu brother.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
Hello, who's this?
Speaker 14 (10:39):
There's a good morning?
Speaker 9 (10:41):
How you feeling?
Speaker 2 (10:42):

Speaker 3 (10:42):

Speaker 3 (10:43):

over this morning. You hung over? What you did last night?
Speaker 14 (10:49):

just wanted to have a couple of beer. Next thing,
you know, I'm defining into show man.
Speaker 3 (10:57):

Speaker 14 (11:00):

one day. Damn baby.
Speaker 19 (11:10):

Speaker 14 (11:11):
He just walked in Tylah telling man.
Speaker 20 (11:14):

Speaker 14 (11:15):

All right, have a good one.
Speaker 14 (12:16):
Dn't appreciate job.
Speaker 3 (12:18):

Speaker 21 (12:20):
This is Brendy.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
What's up, Brendan? Get it on you, get it off
your chest?
Speaker 13 (12:23):
Brother?
Speaker 16 (12:24):
Yeh man, Look, I'm one of those all the workers
we'll talking about.
Speaker 14 (12:27):
Man, we're not on strike yet.
Speaker 7 (12:30):
Well you know we're willing to.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
We have to.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
I ain't man at you, they said, I'm over.
Speaker 9 (12:36):
Here the answers, they said, twelve thousand people are on
strike today, so you're not on strike as yet.
Speaker 16 (12:42):
No. Now ever, we get we actually working without a
time to that currently.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
What's the what's the most important thing that you really want? Brother?
Let you ask it for The.
Speaker 21 (12:49):
Most important thing that I want is, you know, better pay.
They've been making billions of dollars on our back. You know,
I need a better work life balance. I got two
little girls raised. I know you just sympathize it a.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Day, yep, do what you gotta do with my brother.
All right, brother, all right, all right, no, Bren, I
want to ask you to right before you go.
Speaker 9 (13:09):
So if you do strike and the strike takes uh,
you know, ten twenty days without getting paid, I'm sure
that'll effect a lot of you guys were paying bills
and healthcare and and and you know, babysitters and all
that and education, correct.
Speaker 14 (13:22):
Are you? Oh?
Speaker 7 (13:23):

hundred and five eight five one oh five one.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
If you need to vent hit us up now. It's
the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 9 (13:48):
Good morning, the Breakfast Club's is it.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
Your time to get it off your chest? Whether you're
mad or blessed to get up and get something. Call
up now eight hundred and five five five one. We
want to hear from you on the breakfast Club. Hello.
Speaker 22 (14:07):
Who's this?
Speaker 7 (14:08):
Hey?
Speaker 16 (14:08):
This is J from VA.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
J from VA. What I'm getting off your chest?
Speaker 13 (14:11):
Bro? Hey?
Speaker 16 (14:12):
You just want to talk about something that is like
non partisan or something that's interests the boat parties about
the border crossing?
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Okay?
Speaker 16 (14:19):
And what's interesting about that is that I'm not talking
about building wall all the other talking points that come up.
The fact that remains is that we have a lot
of people that make it a cross that haven't been invented,
as we already know. But what hasn't been seen to
be talked about very much is the fact that we
have a lot of people that are coming through that
on terrorist watch lists that have been talked about a
(14:41):
lot of bits. And if you know your history, you
talk about sleeper sales. We had those sins back in
the fifties or whatever. When you have people who were
born went home and saw police in the family house
and they learned at their point their parents weren't American citizens,
that were Russian spies. And even though they were citizens
because they were born their parents weren't. That's a real issue.
(15:03):
And the one thing that we probably would have that
would be in our defense when they decide to make
the move would be a properly armed individual or citizenry.
And we're in a situation now where we have some
terrible issues going on with gun violence, and I absolutely
understand that. But we're in a situation if our guns
get taken away from us, we won't be able to
(15:24):
protect ourselves from the things that happen locally.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
Why do you think your guns is getting taken away
from you.
Speaker 16 (15:29):
I don't think that my gun's gonna get taken away
from you. I understand the Second Amendment and I know
that that's not going to happen. I'm just saying that
just you can't get your rights taken from you, but
you can get your set course in the situation.
Speaker 21 (15:40):
Where you vote for that to happen.
Speaker 16 (15:42):
They look at the news right now, we have a
mirror and I want to say, New Mexico, that's twice
one against you. One of defends the Constitution as well
as the States Constitution itself with different ways to try
to keep people getting armed. But when you look at
when you truly look at the status. Some of the
things you're trying to prevent are things that are that
are walls are being broken already as it is. Truck
(16:03):
concerned is the children, and I understand that. But when
you look at the crimes at the committee, with the
violence in the committee, it's about walls that have been
broken anyway. So she's coming up with new lows that
she's her self as Liddy won't be pollow.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
So you're basically saying you want to vote this person out?
Are you in New Mexico?
Speaker 18 (16:21):
Vie?
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Oh okay, all right, brother, what's going on? I'm confused?
But you just get things off the chest. Sometimes off
the chest, that's all. Hello?
Speaker 23 (16:29):
Who is yo?
Speaker 3 (16:31):
The league? League?
Speaker 8 (16:32):
What I got?
Speaker 14 (16:34):
I'm telling telling man, Hey, I'm doing my plea truck
on my truck. I'm about to hit that.
Speaker 23 (16:40):
Let me get that out the way for you.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
All right, all right, voterho what what's that?
Speaker 21 (16:44):
Brother?
Speaker 3 (16:44):
Get off your chest?
Speaker 14 (16:46):
Do what I want to say?
Speaker 20 (16:47):
What's y'all the man with I'm here man and the
doctor with him about it's only y'all show like about
two years and I feel like y'all did the.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
Whole time you're talking. You're talking about a call Heart.
Speaker 14 (17:01):
Really I forgot his name.
Speaker 9 (17:02):
Yeah, that's a doctor Cary that was with that call
Heart using the drugs and testing the drugs.
Speaker 23 (17:07):
Yeah, Like like this is what I want y'all to know.
Speaker 8 (17:09):
Bro.
Speaker 14 (17:10):
I know, y'all not really the.
Speaker 23 (17:12):
Moon, but people really be tuning in, like you know,
people be listening to me at people really listening to
y'all was like looking at the man. The probably get
a lot of people to be like, you know, agree
with y'all, No.
Speaker 12 (17:25):
That's not true.
Speaker 13 (17:25):
I think I just I just think it's a conversation.
It's a debate, like you know, doctor Carhart. Doctor Carhart
feels one way, we feel another way, and we had
a conversation about it, you know, y'.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
Huh.
Speaker 20 (17:39):
I feel like he was like, do.
Speaker 23 (17:41):
Y'all feel like you still feel the way you tell them?
Speaker 13 (17:44):
I think that a lot of the things that doctor
Carl Hart does is and then it's pushing for is necessary.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
I can see that I can see what he I
can see where he's coming from.
Speaker 14 (17:53):
Oh okay, that's what I really wanted to like hear
from me because I felt like y'all was just shutting
the mouth totally, like just all the way shutting him mouth.
But he did have some valid point.
Speaker 13 (18:01):
Yeah, he was supposed to He was supposed to be
here earlier this year, well, a couple of months ago.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
I don't know what happened. He was supposed to come
back up here.
Speaker 14 (18:08):
Yeah, y'all should do that, man, get him up there.
But man, y'all keep doing what y'all doing.
Speaker 23 (18:12):
Bro, you know we really bowed y'all.
Speaker 9 (18:14):
Go, thank you, brev all right, get it off your chest.
Eight hundred and five eight five one oh five one.
Now when we come back. We got your room report.
We got some breakups in the music industry. We'll tell
you all about it, so don't move. It's to breakfast
Luggle Morning, the breakfast Club.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
Good morning everybody. It's dj n V Charlamagne to God.
We are the breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors.
Let's talk breakups. Call out a name or you gossip?
Been you chatting? Is the rumor report?
Speaker 24 (18:46):
I mean, I guess we're on the breakfast club. This
is where the tea.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
Spells right right all right now.
Speaker 9 (18:51):
In some sad news, Tianna Taylor and Aman Shepherd split
after ten years together.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
I thought we knew that already.
Speaker 9 (18:58):
Though that was behind the scenes. Oh all right now,
she announced on Friday that not too much on my best.
In all fairness, Aman and I are separated and have
been for a while. To be one thousand percent clear,
infidelity ain't one of the reasons for our departure. We
are still the best of friends, great business partners, and
our one hell of a team when it comes to
(19:18):
co parenting.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
Our two beautiful children.
Speaker 9 (19:21):
Most importantly, we are a family and in the ten
years together seven years married, we ain't ever played with
or about that.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Why did T. T. Fielder need to put that out
there now? Like what to do? I guess?
Speaker 9 (19:33):
I guess people were talking different narratives, saying that it
was cheating involved and she just wanted to clear it up.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
One of them got seen with somebody or something. I'm
not sure.
Speaker 9 (19:41):
They didn't say okay, but you remember we spoke about
I don't remember who it was, talking about their relationship
and were saying that they have a relationship and don't
worry about what they're doing.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
So I guess she just wanted to clear it up
for herself and Emon, who saluted the TT and of
mine always.
Speaker 9 (19:56):
Now also, Jeezy files for divorce from Genie Mai after
two years of married.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
And Black women rejoice.
Speaker 13 (20:02):
Black women was dropping clues bahamas all across the country
when that news came out. Man, black women was so
happy about this. What what are you talking about? Black
women like welcome back?
Speaker 3 (20:13):
Like you ain't. They were going crazy. I didn't see that.
Speaker 9 (20:16):
But Jzi filed to end this marriage on Thursday, Enjoygia
Supperiod Court of Fulton County. The filing says the marriage
of the parties is broken and there is no hope
for getting back together.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
And Black women are like, come on home, Geez.
Speaker 13 (20:30):
They want Gez to get a nice colored girlfriend and
drop a new mixtape called Black Dye Yo, followed by
an album called Black Black Love.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
Motivation One on one.
Speaker 13 (20:38):
I'm telling you right now, these sisters are excited that
this is happening.
Speaker 9 (20:43):
GZ seeking joint legal custody of their daughter. According to
the divorce Doyle, that's the most important thing. The two
had a prenuptial agreement that JZI expects will be enforced.
So salutes to JZ and Geenie My as well. And lastly,
Diddy was doing an interview with Kresha and they were
talking about uh their life in the bedroom.
Speaker 22 (21:05):
How many round would you be going?
Speaker 16 (21:06):
You know?
Speaker 22 (21:07):
The people, don't you know them? I know, but the
people don't.
Speaker 5 (21:14):
Let me tell you something.
Speaker 11 (21:18):
I'd be like, I wanna say.
Speaker 22 (21:24):
Yourself for real, for real.
Speaker 25 (21:25):
I already thought that I was gonna like make him
tap out like I read thought he was gonna be
being out of no chest this.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
Don't go to sleep.
Speaker 13 (21:33):
Like you gotta be.
Speaker 22 (21:37):
Energized like you gotta be charged up like a tessela.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
You're going off the grill with me. You gotta go
to sleep for a week.
Speaker 22 (21:43):
You're definitely giving us sleep.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
That's that old man scream.
Speaker 13 (21:47):
People think old man scream for just about fighting, but
it's about fornicating too any better than me though, because
there's no way I'm having those types of conversations with
women publicly.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
And I got daughters old enough to hear it. That's true.
They got too much stuff.
Speaker 13 (22:01):
I gotta explain now from ten years ago, having these
conversations now you crazy.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
But definitely pick up the album if you haven't.
Speaker 9 (22:09):
Of course, they were on Apple Music promoting the album
or Friday Long, and that's when that interview came out.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
Did you get it? Did you get a chance to
ride with the album.
Speaker 10 (22:15):
Of course.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
Listen.
Speaker 13 (22:16):
I told y'all last week when Diddy was here, this
album is special, man. I've been listening to the Love
album all weekend. The Love Album Off the Grid is
a very very, very very special album. And it's only
because Diddy knows how to make R and B music.
You know how to produce, knows how to produce, and
I love hearing him with these younger artists. I want
to see more of that. I want to see when
it comes to R and B. I want to see
more of the older people who actually know how to
(22:38):
make R and B working with this generation of R
and B artists. And I want to see younger, younger
producers doing what they did with what hit Boy did
with nas Yep. But I also want to see older
hip hop producers working with certain younger hip hop artists.
Speaker 9 (22:55):
I would love to hear that those sounds like I
would love to hear like Applican, Jake Hold and Freemo
just plays.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
I would love to hear with the right with the
right younger artists. Absolutely, yeah, yeah, I definitely love that.
Speaker 9 (23:07):
And you know, people forget, you know, Diddy has done
so much when we could go back and talk, Jodasy.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
We could talk Mary j Blige. We can go as
recent as burn a boy.
Speaker 13 (23:16):
You know, I saw some stupid little young boy on
social media say this weekend, look at Diddy trying to
do an R and B album. So when he go
up against your main du prix, he'll have more R
and B records? Like, what are you what are you
talking about? Like, clearly you don't know the catalog of
of sewn coles. Now, clearly you though make a statement
like that. All right, Well his original bag was R
(23:36):
and B. Yes, for the hip hop before the original
bag was R and B. That's what you're talking about, Jodasy,
Mary J Blige, do your googles, do your googles?
Speaker 3 (23:45):
All right, well that is your rumor report.
Speaker 9 (23:47):
Now when we come back, we got front page news
tesling figure O will be joining us, and Toya and
Regine they will be joining us next hour, So don't move.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
It's to Breakfast Club. Good morning, the Breakfast Club. Your
mornings will never be the same morning.
Speaker 9 (24:00):
Everybody is DJ V Charlamague the god. We are the
Breakfast Club.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
Let's get in some front page news. Let's start off
with sports. Now.
Speaker 9 (24:09):
Last night hopefully your NFL team won. My team is
on a winning streak. The Giants beat the card News
thirty one, twenty eight, Cowboys beat the Jets thirty ten,
forty nine, Ers beat the Rams thirty twenty three, the
Titans beat the Chargers, Bill's beat the Raiders, Falcons beat
the Packers, Chiefs beat the Jaguars, Buccaneers beat the Bears.
Coach beat the Texans, Seahawks beat the Lions, the Ravens
(24:30):
beat the Bengals, Commanders beat the Broncoals.
Speaker 13 (24:33):
And I hope y'all know that on Sunday, February eleventh,
twenty and twenty four, the Dallas Cowboys will be playing
in that game.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
Okay, well game, I don't know who we're gonna be playing.
Speaker 13 (24:42):
But on Sunday, February eleventh, twenty twenty four, the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
Will be in the Super Bowl. Yeah, ain't playing in
that game. Hey, yeah, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all don't have eyes.
Speaker 16 (24:50):
Now.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
I know every year, I know every year you say
this every year.
Speaker 13 (24:53):
Yes, but if you're not paying attention, if you don't
realize how well lead our defenses, Mike, when Michael Pauter
says that we got the defense in the league and
then they're not gonna allow nobody more than ten points
against them. I believe them because that defense.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Is elite, elite. I've heard this every year.
Speaker 13 (25:08):
No, no, you don't, so you ain't see you don't.
You don't see defenses like this, but every so off,
this is one of those elite defenses.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
People know what I'm talking about.
Speaker 13 (25:16):
When you think about those old Baltimore Ravens squads, them
old New York Giants defenses in Chicago bed the eighty
five defenses, this one of them.
Speaker 3 (25:24):
All Right, you guys are not going anywhere FOREBRU eleven.
Speaker 9 (25:26):
But we got to congratulate the Colorado Buffalo's deon prime time.
They beat the Colorado State Rams forty three to thirty five.
They were on the three game winning streaks.
Speaker 13 (25:35):
So I am a proud I am a proud bandwagoner
of the Colorado Buffalo. I'm at at you, okay, proud bandwagoner,
and all you negroes don't think that we forgot how
y'all were slander and Dion when Dion left Jackson State,
Like with the left, y'all, a lot of y'all out
there celebrating. Got your pom poms out. Now, y'all show
had a lot to say when he left Jackson State.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
That's true. Now let's get right into it. What I've says.
Speaker 16 (25:55):
What's going on?
Speaker 11 (25:56):
Did you say your team was on a winning streak?
Speaker 20 (25:58):
Yes?
Speaker 9 (25:58):
One game winning streak, That's what I said, because winning
street mean like back to back though, right, one game,
winning street.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
One game. If he's buying his tickets with a super
Bowl already, my team is gonna be on to get
a winning street.
Speaker 13 (26:08):
I'm buying my tickets and my daddy told him to
told me to buy him because I got eyes.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
This defense different, Dallas Cowboy's defense different.
Speaker 11 (26:15):
And we gotta look up the definition of winning street
because Winni Street means back to back.
Speaker 3 (26:19):
Now, just one game winn Street. All right, now, let's
jump right into it. Let's talk about this Georgia Church
and what they did.
Speaker 11 (26:27):
Yes, stand on a dj NB. I ain't mad at
you at all, some folks in Georgia on a winning street.
Speaker 10 (26:34):
I really like this story. This should be I know
you do Donkey today, but this should really be a
Hero of the Day. Georgia Church wipes out two point
six million in medical debt for residents.
Speaker 11 (26:43):
You don't hear that a lot. Let's listen to the
story and I'm gonna give you some more information.
Speaker 15 (26:46):
On the other side, the church recently donated fifteen thousand
dollars to a group called RIP Medical Debt. According to
the US Census Bureau, nineteen percent of American households carry
some medical debt, with a medium amount owed at two
thousand dollars. Daniel Lambert with RIP Medical Debt explains how
they can erase the debt with donations like cross churches.
Speaker 18 (27:07):
So you can buy medical debts for pennies on the
dollars if you are a debt buyer in this country,
and if you instead take a nonprofit mindset and you
use donor dollars, you could actually buy medical debts.
Speaker 15 (27:17):
So they're able to stretch donor dollars to pay for
a lot of debt. And in this case, if.
Speaker 18 (27:21):
We're able to stretch that fifteen k to a very
impressive two point six million in face value medical debt.
Speaker 15 (27:28):
Two point six million dollars worth of debt now raised
for around twenty five hundred people and for Scyth and
Fulton Counties.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
We wanted to do something that impacts people personally.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Well, that's incredible.
Speaker 13 (27:39):
I mean that's what people would love to see the
church of churches doing more what churches do.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
Yeah, absolutely absolutely.
Speaker 10 (27:46):
I've set out to Pastor Cornelius Fisher, that's who you
heard at the end of a cross church, and this
is very impressive. We hear a lot, you know, negative
churches don't do enough. A lot of churches do a lot,
but we don't hear about it. But I just saw
this story was really, really, really important. So shout out
to them for using again.
Speaker 11 (28:02):
This is what church to do.
Speaker 10 (28:03):
This is why they have a nonprofit status to be
able to take care, you know, to be able to
you know, get.
Speaker 11 (28:08):
Around those type of loopholes.
Speaker 10 (28:09):
They can actually help people instead of just pocketing the
money or keeping the building fun growing forever. Want to
unpack just some facts right quick on medical debt DJV.
I know you talked about it in the first hour
when you were talking about folks and not being able
to pay for health care, you know, while they're on strike.
Speaker 11 (28:24):
So I wanted to give you some facts.
Speaker 10 (28:25):
Middle income Americans who earn fifty thousand to one hundred
thousand or more a year currently do not qualify for
medicaid or charity, so they are in the most debt.
An estimated twenty three point five percent of those folks
have unpaid medical bills. Twenty two percent of those are
lower income. And then want to give you some numbers
breaking it down by race, thirty seven percent of black
(28:47):
middle class folks have medical debt, twenty five percent of
Hispanic folks have medical debt, and twenty percent of white
people have medical debt. So everybody's a medical debt across
the board, you know, regardless of race. Obviously some have more,
which would be Black Americans. But this is a real issue.
So shout out to that church, you know for really
you know, utilizing u you know, their their nonprofit status
(29:10):
to actually help some folks.
Speaker 13 (29:11):
And how much times an offerings they do it, Like,
who are the members of this church because they're getting money,
get some money.
Speaker 10 (29:16):
Well it was only fifteen thousand, they only spend fifteen thousand,
but because they had the nonprofit status, like the report
were saying, it pretty much tripled, you know, the amount
because of the way because of nonprofit paid for it.
That was just what was so interesting about this story
when you actually use your nonprofit status, you can. There's
a loophole. I'm using them to term lightly. But they
were allowed to triple that status. So they didn't come
(29:39):
out of pocket for the two point six million dollars.
They only spend fifteen thousand.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
Wow, So a flip.
Speaker 11 (29:44):
That's a major flip.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
And all these churches should do that.
Speaker 9 (29:46):
If they only got to spend fifteen thousand, go wipe
out two point six in medical debt, all.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
That's right to do that.
Speaker 10 (29:51):
Yeah, because they were able to negotiate it. So because
it was a nonprofit status. If you know, if somebody
saying they owe one hundred thousand dollars in debt, because
they use that status, they were able to you know,
reduce that versus if I'm trying to pay my medical debt,
I have to pay it down to the dollar or
you know, maybe they'll give me a break or not.
And that again, why why I've really wanted to highlight
the story on how they utilize that nonprofit of.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
Status that works with student loans and stuff like that.
Speaker 10 (30:17):
Well, it'd be great if they work for suit loan,
but student loan most of those the government and a
lot of them are private and because of the way
it's set up, it's not set up, you know, to
help folks get out of debt, which is why they
keep pushing to end so long debt.
Speaker 11 (30:30):
So but that'd be great. That's a great point, Charlemagne.
Speaker 10 (30:33):
If can the nonprofits, can they get involved, Can it
be a way, you know, a way that maybe they
can create some legislation to make that happen.
Speaker 3 (30:40):
All right, well that is Front Page News. Thank you,
tiz uh huh.
Speaker 13 (30:45):
And make sure you subscribe to teslient Figure outs podcasts.
It's great shot. No chase of podcasts on the Black Effect.
iHeartRadio podcast network, and follow at tesling Figure on all

Speaker 9 (30:54):
All right, now, when we come back, Toya and Regin
and they will be joining us. They got a new
reality show on we TV and we're gonna talk to
them when we come back, So don't move.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning, the Breakfast Club. Morning everybody.
It's dj n V Charlamagne the God. We are the
Breakfast Club. We got some special guest with.
Speaker 9 (31:13):
Us today, the Flyers mother daughter duo in the game
too and Resonate.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
Welcome ladies.
Speaker 22 (31:18):
Hey, how y'all feeling good.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
Good run around doing press for the TV show. Yes,
now why reality show?
Speaker 26 (31:25):
Now?
Speaker 3 (31:26):
At this point, Uh, you know, we've.
Speaker 25 (31:28):
Been doing reality TV for a while. We're at a
different phase in our lives, so, you know, a lot
of growth, a lot of changes. So we decided to
bring the nosy people back into our world.
Speaker 3 (31:40):
That I wouldn't I wonder if you always want to
be bothered at this point?
Speaker 25 (31:43):
Uh yeah, I mean we was just you know, happy
to do something, the two of us together for the
first time.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
That was it following relationship? Is it businesses? Is it bold?
Speaker 22 (31:54):
Is it a mixture of all of that?
Speaker 3 (31:56):
All of it?
Speaker 22 (31:56):
Yeah, relationship, family, business.
Speaker 9 (32:00):
That feeling and the relationship stuff and all that. Again,
nobody didn't want to side of it.
Speaker 3 (32:08):
Which one of y'all didn't want to do it. Somebody
didn't somebody didn't want.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
To do it.
Speaker 22 (32:13):
I mean, it's like you go through things.
Speaker 25 (32:15):
Nothing it's perfect, like you know, And whether you do
a reality show or not, if you're going through something,
you're gonna be on the blocks and y'all gonna be
talking about I feel like people tell our story anyway,
so you might as well narrate your own stuff.
Speaker 9 (32:28):
But you do know it Like, if it's a little
argument in the crib, it's a little argument in the
crib is over. But now when it's a little argument
and it's outside the crib, that argument is always a
lot bigger.
Speaker 25 (32:37):
Yeah, but everything don't have to be shown, you know
what I'm saying, Like, you ain't gonna put every situation
out there to keep filter certain things.
Speaker 13 (32:48):
What did y'all learn from doing reality TV previously that
y'all applied to this?
Speaker 25 (32:53):
The thing about it is we've always been transparent and
like real and authentic to who we are are. We
never claim to be perfect. We go through things, ups
and downs, and we okay with living our lives out loud.
So what we learned before is it's like I don't
like to focus too much heavy on my relationship for
(33:14):
real because you know I've done that on TV before,
and yeah it is sometimes it is a It does
have that negative thing to it because you're allowing so
many opinions to come into your situation.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
But it is what it is now. I am how
do you know he was Doe?
Speaker 22 (33:34):
Because he is such a genuine person.
Speaker 25 (33:38):
He's real, he's very family oriented, He's like, you know,
I feel like.
Speaker 22 (33:43):
That's my person. That's like, you know, my best friend.
So that's all you know. Yeah, he's a sagittarian.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
Oh my goodness, did him from the door originator? So
hooked on the side.
Speaker 6 (34:01):
I was like, girl, what But another thing with rad
is that he's always accepted me like I was his daughter, like,
always loved me like one always just like respected me.
And my mom showed me that he respected my mom
so much. So he was good in my eyes.
Speaker 11 (34:16):
From day one.
Speaker 3 (34:17):
Her boyfriends, well you.
Speaker 25 (34:24):
Two boyfriends that well when she was younger, three boyfriends,
but it was okay, cool.
Speaker 13 (34:31):
Like I like her.
Speaker 25 (34:39):
For real, for real, like you know, growing up and
like in the beginning, it's tough because I dated a rapper,
so of course I didn't want my daughter to follow
those footsteps and date a rapper.
Speaker 22 (34:48):
But you can't help who you love, so yes, I
always she didn't. I appreciate when she she told me
this is my friend. I was like, don't do it.
But then you gotta let him an.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
Even back then he was you know, he was still
on the come up, but he still was a different,
different level of it.
Speaker 22 (35:05):
He was a rapper, and I was trying to warn her.
Speaker 3 (35:09):
He did good to.
Speaker 2 (35:12):
A time.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
I'm just saying she's still a rapper.
Speaker 25 (35:16):
They move so I was trying to give back game
like you know, but oh no, then I want to
hear me.
Speaker 22 (35:23):
She was like, nah, that's my friend. I trust me.
Speaker 21 (35:25):
I got this.
Speaker 22 (35:26):
That's my friend.
Speaker 9 (35:27):
And dan boom.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
I was like, did you say I told you so?
Speaker 13 (35:30):
I did not.
Speaker 22 (35:31):
Did I say I told you so?
Speaker 15 (35:33):
No?
Speaker 13 (35:33):
You just let her.
Speaker 11 (35:35):
I just let her, you know, let me get him.
Speaker 22 (35:38):
She's better with it now, like she knows what she
wants and she's she's doing good on that that level.
Speaker 13 (35:45):
I love the dynamic, you know, I like. I like
watching even my wife with my daughters. But are y'all
did you raise her like a friend or daughter. I'm
gonna let her answer that.
Speaker 16 (35:54):
No.
Speaker 6 (35:55):
My mother growing up she always said, you know, I'm
your mother, not your friend. Now that I am about
to be twenty five years old, I can call her. Look,
I'm cod still hesitate. I could call her my friend sometimes,
but she's not. No, She's always been my mother like,
and I'm thankful for it because I look at her
(36:15):
as my mother, like I don't even if I slip
up and cuts, I'd be like ooh sorry, Like it's
like mom, I got a different respect for her because
she's always put that on me.
Speaker 3 (36:25):
Show, bring y'all closer together.
Speaker 25 (36:28):
Uh, We've always had a really close relationship. I'm gonna
be honest. We went through our rough patch, you know
every mother and daughter do when they're growing up and
start smelling their stuff and think they like super grown.
We went through that patch, but as she got older,
our relationship got stronger and stronger. But with the show, yes,
you know, because we're seeing each other a whole lot
(36:48):
more reginated smooth. She live in La now, so that's
time that we get to spend together and you know,
be around each other more.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
When they go through the rough patch, what do you do?
You just let them be on their own, like you.
Speaker 22 (36:59):
Want to box some up. That's what, Yes, fox them up.
Speaker 25 (37:05):
But it's like they just think they know everything. That
rough patch is a very tough time for mothers and daughters.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
How'dy'all fix it?
Speaker 22 (37:13):
I think time fixed it.
Speaker 25 (37:15):
And then like life experiences, you know, she started to
realize things that I was trying to tell her. But
I'm one of them mothers, Like I really be trying
to avoid her, like I can see it before it happened.
But I have to understand that you was once age
and it took you going through these things to learn.
You know, it was the life lessons is was taught
(37:35):
you and made you the woman you are today. So
you got to allow her that same type of you know, growth,
like for her to learn and go through things. But
it's just tough just watching them, just running to them
and you're trying to stop them. It's like, girl, listen
to me, but you know, that's my buddy. We talk
about everything, and the rough patches is over.
Speaker 22 (37:56):
Every now and then. We might have a little disagreement
us bad, but that's that. Don't have that often.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
What made you realize Mama was right?
Speaker 22 (38:04):
She's my mom.
Speaker 6 (38:05):
I feel like at this point, even when they're even
when your parent is not right, you gotta let them
be right.
Speaker 11 (38:10):
Like it's like you can't like you can't.
Speaker 27 (38:16):
No, she's right like usually on.
Speaker 6 (38:18):
Life things, say for instance, like friends, things like this,
everything that she call out. She's usually right on everything.
But it's like, I feel like our generation is different.
Things are changing. A lot of stuff is different from
when she was younger, when she was coming up, So
I feel like it's certain things where she's like, oh,
you know, they move like this, and I'm like mine,
it's a different time now. Like so that's the things
(38:40):
where it's like i'd be like, my get where you're
coming from, but we moving like this now, or it's
so that's what it goes.
Speaker 22 (38:48):
It goes handing in.
Speaker 6 (38:49):
But she always keeps me humble and keeps me like
you know, mo, yeah, I don't move, And that's why
I don't move like my generation.
Speaker 11 (38:57):
That's why I'm glad.
Speaker 6 (38:58):
I'm glad that I my mom because she's always tapping
me on my shoulder like, oh, no, you're not doing that,
you're doing this.
Speaker 14 (39:04):
We like.
Speaker 6 (39:05):
Now that I'm grown, I'm like always have her in
the back of my head, even if it's something that
I know my mom wouldn't like and I know it's
not good for me. I'm like, my mama, well I
ain't wasn't even raised like that.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
Do you look at her like she's grown?
Speaker 8 (39:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 17 (39:18):
I do.
Speaker 22 (39:19):
I treat her like she's grown. Yeah, I'm gonna be
her baby forever. I do look at her like she's grown.
Speaker 25 (39:25):
But it's like, oh, it's hard like this generation with
social media, like the different things that's going on. It's like,
I'm like, I don't want my daughters to be like that,
you know. I want them to have some class about them.
I want them to respect themselves. I want them to
always remember you are the queen, and you deserve somebody
that's gonna treat you like the queen. Like, don't be
(39:47):
out here telling all your business to the internet. You
have a village, Like I be trying to like stop them,
but it's so hard because this is what everybody in
their generation is doing. So I'm like, okay, when you
put on clothes, leave something to the imagination. We all
like to be sexy. We go through our phases, but like,
don't be completely exposing every part of your body, like
(40:10):
all kind of stuff, be trying to get on and then.
Speaker 3 (40:12):
You pull up a picture of you and you was eighteen.
I will hold up whole lot of thought. We got
more with Toya and Regine.
Speaker 9 (40:23):
When we come back, don't move. It's to breakfast club.
Good morning, good morning. Everybody's DJ env Charlamage to God.
We are the Breakfast Club. We're still kicking it with
Toya and Regine. Right, how does it feel like you
know your dad. It seems like people are giving your
dad as flowers, and how does that feel?
Speaker 2 (40:39):
You know what?
Speaker 6 (40:40):
I'm about to read the text that I just text
him yesterday, because honestly.
Speaker 11 (40:46):
This is how I feel.
Speaker 6 (40:47):
I said, I said, you deserve all of these moments
you're getting in more and their coming. I'm so happy
for him. I feel like my dad is like not
that like he's not that vocal. He's very like to himself,
like you know, if you know him, you know him,
so it's like he don't really He not the type
that's gonna ask for it or gonna say like he
(41:08):
wanted or he needed or he whatever. But I feel
like in his soul, all of this love that he's getting,
I feel like as a man, it's something that he needed,
Like every man just needs a different love, a different
type of like honor, because I feel like it's so
much that he does. He takes care of so many people,
He gets so many things together, So I feel like
(41:29):
for him to get his flowers at this time, it's
just a blessing.
Speaker 13 (41:32):
I think it's because we're in an era where we've
seen so many great to die. He didn't celebrate them
when it was It's like, while we have these icons
still here, these living legends still hear yo, salute them,
celebrate them, especially people that have been around for a
song and me like Waven around twenty five years looking
with his ninety six literally since like ninety six because
(41:53):
I'm from South Carolina, so we was getting that old
cash money BG baby Gangster take all of that way, way, way,
way way back.
Speaker 2 (41:59):
But I love that.
Speaker 9 (42:00):
I love to see him doing so much more, like
doing these award shows, like hearing them backstage at these
concerts and coming out doing surprise performances.
Speaker 3 (42:07):
I love to see that.
Speaker 9 (42:08):
I think people miss that and in the fact that
whatever it is that's making him do it, I love
it because I love to see.
Speaker 3 (42:13):
Him more and more and more, which is which is great.
Is he gonna be on the reality show? He'd be like,
keep the cameras away.
Speaker 6 (42:21):
Well, you know, the reality show is with me and
my mom and our life and what we got going on,
so you know, Starlane, But you know, at the end
of the day, my dad is always supportive with anything
that I do.
Speaker 11 (42:32):
So you know, I just got to say tuned, like
pop up, you never know, you had.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
A little incident out there a couple of months ago.
Did that change your mind about Yeah.
Speaker 6 (42:39):
That's another thing. My house almost got broken into. So yeah,
so it's like that's a It's like everything happens for
a reason. Now I feel like since that happened, I
am very careful on how I post, when I post
what I posed. So it's like I needed that to
happen kind of for me to like stop showing so much.
Speaker 9 (42:58):
I was gonna ask, you know, your dad wrote one
of your verses for the BT Awards. You ever thought
about doing it?
Speaker 24 (43:06):
No?
Speaker 6 (43:06):
Actually, I'm not good at rapping, Like honestly, even when
me and my friends are in the room, I just
couldn't never get the bars. He took it all like,
I got a lot of talents like acting, this, that, this,
we know, but the rapping stuff, I just could never
get a bar.
Speaker 13 (43:22):
And for you resonate, like, you know, if you are dating,
do you put these guys on TV because you don't
want to make people hot?
Speaker 3 (43:30):
You have a tendency that.
Speaker 5 (43:36):
My god.
Speaker 6 (43:38):
So I mean, like my mom said earlier, we definitely
show our lives and show you know, everything that's a
part of it. And yeah, you know, I definitely have
put my last relationship.
Speaker 12 (43:50):
On the TV.
Speaker 22 (43:55):
Nine pmally three episodes in. So yes, it's been really good.
Speaker 3 (44:04):
Fever y'all.
Speaker 13 (44:05):
Y'all go on social to see what people are saying,
y'all don't want to that's what y'all meant by doing that.
Speaker 25 (44:09):
Oh yeah, we live tweet on Thursdays when the show
come on. And surprisingly it has not been negative stuff
like that.
Speaker 3 (44:18):
I mean, it's very hard to hate on y'all. I
mean without looking like actual hate.
Speaker 25 (44:30):
Like they'll find something, but it han't. Like surprise, I'm
like really surprised because it really is a family shows,
very relatable.
Speaker 22 (44:38):
It's real.
Speaker 25 (44:39):
My mom is on there, she's a character, she's funny,
my brother, my sister who has a kind of open
relationship situation. It's just different family dynamics. And it's a
little drama on there, of course, and you know people
was reginaate with her relation her past relationship, and you know,
me and my friends.
Speaker 22 (44:59):
It's just it's like a real, relatable, real show.
Speaker 25 (45:02):
And I feel like if I'm a due reality TV,
I wanted I wanted to be authentic to who I
am for real and what I deal with on a
day to day because I get lots of people telling me,
you know how me sharing my family life has helped
them to repair relationships and different things.
Speaker 22 (45:18):
And I feel like if I'm able to help somebody
in that way.
Speaker 9 (45:21):
Like why not Molatoya and Reggenid, we appreciate you for
joining us. You can check them on we TV every
Thursday at nine pm. And changed you remember the first
time he came.
Speaker 11 (45:30):
Up here, I want I was like, what you what
you about to say?
Speaker 14 (45:34):
I love you.
Speaker 18 (45:38):
Always.
Speaker 25 (45:39):
I think the first time I came with it was
like some little shady stuff going on on the internet.
Speaker 22 (45:44):
So that was like the first question I used to think.
Speaker 3 (45:47):
But I always you always was cool. Though. Yes, I
always used to say I wanted a midget that looked.
Speaker 12 (46:04):
Almost made it.
Speaker 3 (46:04):
I'm sorry I said involved.
Speaker 19 (46:08):
Something.
Speaker 3 (46:08):
Oh, but I would be dope a missieon that looked
like I don't know, I just thought that would be
pretty cute, like a little midget looked just like.
Speaker 9 (46:17):
Toye lady, gentlemen, Toya resonate, thank you so much. It's
the Breakfast Club, Good Morning morning. Everybody is DJ en
Vy Charlamage the guy. We are the Breakfast Club good Morning.

Speaker 3 (46:36):

Speaker 13 (46:37):
All right, well, I'm eating red meat with my blood
pressure was high earlier this year.
Speaker 9 (46:41):
All right, well, there's a lot of my cholesterol levels down.
There's a lot of good deals out there. Shout to
uh one of our big producers, our big co worker.
You said he's the leader of the.
Speaker 13 (46:52):
He calls himself to seize the self proclaimed president of
the Fat Lives Matter, even though I want him.
Speaker 9 (46:56):
To lose with all right, well, let me just tell
you some some some good deals today. Applebee's officer of
cheeseburger fries for nine dollars today. Wendy's is offering a

I'm gonna actually go into uh what is it, Wendy's.
I'm gonna go to Wendy's today and see if I
can actually buy a junior bak and cheeseburger for a penny.
Speaker 3 (48:02):
I just want to see if I can do it.
I just you know, I was thinking about that yesterday.
I could do it.
Speaker 13 (48:07):
I was I was doing some apple picking yesterday and
went apple picking with the family yesterday, and I was
thinking about that. I was like, what is the point
in ninety nine cents?
Speaker 8 (48:14):
Like?
Speaker 3 (48:14):
Who said?
Speaker 13 (48:15):
You know what he's gonna say something is ninety nine
cents as opposed to the whole dollar.
Speaker 9 (48:19):
Well it sounds better, it sounds wasn't supposed to do
with said penny. Well, they're saying that that from somebody's brain.
It sounds cheaper ninety nine cents than the dollar. That's
you just got this penny just randomly sitting around. That's
what I'm going to I'm going to wen DC today
to see if I could buy a cheeseburger for a penny.
Speaker 3 (48:34):
I'm gonna go with one. Didn't say. I didn't read
what you just read that that's not what it said.
They didn't say cheeseburgers, what penny. He said.
Speaker 13 (48:41):
If you do something else, then you can get a
bacon junior cheeseburger for a penny. Let me, niggas don't
really read. That's why don't nobody give you all.
Speaker 9 (48:48):
Wordscause Wendy's is offering a penny junior bacon cheeseburger with
any purchase exactly.
Speaker 3 (48:54):
Negroes never read the fine print to nothing.
Speaker 9 (48:58):
So if I go in there and I buy Apple,
I can have a cheeseburger, you know, junior baked cheesberger
for penny. Well, I'm gonna try to buy the cheapest
thing on the menu and see if my penny works.
I just want to see and junior baked cheeseburgers at
McDonald's for fifty cent when they usually three dollars and
nineteen cent.
Speaker 13 (49:14):
This why why he's so exciting about why not? I
don't know, I don't care. This is Monday. I don't
just it's this Monday compensation. I mean, it's people get today,
they can get lunch for cheap. I'm just telling telling
the people out there. All right, congratulations, y'all. All right,
when we come back, we got your heart attack for
cheap nothing. When we come back, we got your room
(49:34):
of report. Chris Brown, he has some words for tonight, Shay.
We'll talk about it when we come back. It's the
breakfast Club.
Speaker 3 (49:39):
Morning morning, everybody as t n V. Charlamagnea gud.
Speaker 9 (49:43):
We are the breakfast Club. Let's get to the rumors.
Let's talk Chris Brown. Name or you've gossip chatting?
Speaker 3 (49:53):
Is the rumor report?
Speaker 24 (49:54):
I mean, I guess we're on the breakfast Club.
Speaker 9 (49:55):
This is where the tea spells right right, all right
now to Nawsha was doing an interview and was talking
about her collapse. She was asked about her previous collaborations
with R. Kelly and Chris Brown, and this is what
she said when she was asked that question.
Speaker 1 (50:10):
Attached to things that felt labelly would you put in
that category the songs you did with R Kelly and
Chris Brown?
Speaker 22 (50:17):
Okay, you know got wine.
Speaker 19 (50:21):
I literally I block out that R. Kelly song from
my mind. I forget that that even exists.
Speaker 22 (50:25):
That is so embarrassing, and I think the public perceives
it as you doing that willingly.
Speaker 3 (50:31):
Yeah, now understanding that, like there's you lack a lot
of control in that situation.
Speaker 19 (50:34):
Oh yeah, of course, yeah you do. And especially when
it comes to singles, like, for example, that song with Chris.
We all wanted it to be like this big moment,
this big single. So I feel like in their mind
they were like, you need this support, and he was
like their biggest artist that they had on rhythmic radio
at the time. And to me, I was like, well,
this is a pop song, so I we really don't
feel like we should put Chris on it like that.
(50:55):
I don't like that doesn't compute to me, but don't.
Speaker 3 (51:00):
Yeah, that was on the Zach Saying show. Well.
Speaker 9 (51:02):
Chris Brown responded, he said, name five to Nachet songs
or diet everybody Dead. Then he says, she full of
that evil shorty career is non existent. What's more embarrassing?
Is that she worked with all these people and no
one of us could have saved her career.
Speaker 13 (51:19):
The crazy part is, if you listen to what to
Nash said, r Kelly was the one who really got
the brunt of that. Like she was just saying that
she didn't think Chris Brown should have been on a
pop record. She didn't throw shots at Chris Brown, you know,
for any past allegations or anything like that. She just
said she didn't feel like Chris Brown should have been on.
Speaker 3 (51:35):
This pop record. All right now. Halle Berry is mad
at Drake.
Speaker 9 (51:39):
That's because Drake posted a picture of her being slimed
and this was saying that he was going to put
out his new record.
Speaker 3 (51:45):
She didn't like it.
Speaker 9 (51:45):
Halle Berry claims Drake used her image for a Slime
You out without permission.
Speaker 3 (51:50):
He asked me and I said no.
Speaker 9 (51:52):
Halle Berry claims she told Drake she did not want
him to use her image to promote his new single
slime on You. Feature in Scissor after this single and
it's art drop Burry up what she went on social
media and said, sometimes you just have to be the
bigger guy, even if you're a woman. Somebody left the
comments as well, while I do understand your side, that
photo is owned by Getty Images, so I'm sure he
(52:14):
got their permission and paid the fee.
Speaker 3 (52:16):
Why you mad?
Speaker 9 (52:17):
And halle Berry said, cause he asked me, And I
said no, that's why. Why is if you intend to
do what you want to do, then why ask me?
That's not what the f you do to me?
Speaker 3 (52:26):
Not cool? You get it?
Speaker 13 (52:27):
Yeah, why would Drake do that if Holly told him
not to? And what's the point of asking if you're
gonna do what you want to do anyway? At least
if you know you didn't ask and you did it,
you can apologize, right, You.
Speaker 3 (52:38):
Know, sometimes it's better to ask for forgiveness than ask
for permission. Yeah, but he asked for permission and she.
Speaker 16 (52:43):
Said no.
Speaker 3 (52:45):
Sense, not at all.
Speaker 9 (52:46):
And lastly, Tyler Perry thinks successful black women should be
open minded about their partners and even splitting bills.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
This is what he said.
Speaker 2 (52:55):
In our society right now, black women are making a
lot more money for the most part than black men.
Right There are a lot of black men who are successful,
but for the most part, black women are making the money.
So you if you can find love, if that man
works at whatever job, and is a good man and
it's good to you, and honors and honors the house
and honors and does what he can because his gift
(53:20):
may not be your gift exactly. That is okay. That's
not somebody who's beneath you. That's somebody who came to
love you at your work, right, and as long as
he's secure in himself to know that, Yep, she makes
most of the money. All I can pay is the
light bill. As long as she's comfortable enough to say,
I'm gonna cover the mortgage and all the other stuff
you hand the light buil. Baby, you can take me
to dinner and every now and then.
Speaker 3 (53:40):
That is fine. Yeah, that love, that support that I
got you, babe, it's a beautiful thing.
Speaker 13 (53:47):
So basically, he's telling women to move like men, because
there's plenty of men who have you know, who are
good financially, who date women who aren't on the same
financial level.
Speaker 3 (53:58):
Yeah, that's basically what this me. What he's saying.
Speaker 13 (54:00):
He's saying, like, if you're a woman and you're you know,
set financially, just date somebody who's not on your saying
financial happens all the time.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
Don't date for status or financials, date for love, and
you know, it's funny. What what I thought? That's what
I heard.
Speaker 9 (54:16):
He said, you know, don't worry about your finance and
sometimes yeah, it's date for love. It's it's people out there,
and you know it's funny. I have a couple of
single home girls and I tell them that all the time.
I think sometimes they put theirself in positions where they're
looking for this. They want somebody this height, they want
somebody that makes they don't have it. They want somebody exactly,
somebody date for love, find somebody that actually loves you.
Speaker 13 (54:38):
By the way, I never understood any broke person that
was saying they was looking for somebody rich, like either
from either sex. I got the craziest thing in the
world to be with women, especially when women say.
Speaker 3 (54:47):
I need me a man. They got this amount of
money and god this do you have that? Do you
have a house?
Speaker 14 (54:53):
Like?
Speaker 3 (54:53):
Are you making that? Are you making money?
Speaker 20 (54:55):
Like?
Speaker 3 (54:56):
I always thought that was strange.
Speaker 9 (54:57):
But let's let's open up the phone lines and let's listen.
Let's talk about it. Eight hundred five eight five one
oh five to one. You know, Tyler Perry thinks successful
black women should be open minded about their partners.
Speaker 3 (55:07):
You know, maybe you know he doesn't make as much.
Speaker 13 (55:09):
Basically, he's basically telling women to move like men, because
there's plenty of men out here who got money and
they date women who aren't on their same financial level.
Now he's basically telling women who got money to date
men who aren't on the same financial level.
Speaker 9 (55:22):
Now, some people are arguing saying that instead of telling
women to lower their standards, maybe Tyler Perry should be
encouraging men to rise to the occasion.
Speaker 3 (55:30):
That's what some people that have been saying in social
media and in comments.
Speaker 13 (55:33):
Oh, women should rise to the occasion too. Then when
it comes to Dayton, men who got more money in them?
Speaker 9 (55:38):
Right, Well, let's discuss when we come back eight hundred
five eight five, one oh five on and that was
your room report. Since we don't have a guest co
host today, we could bring some of our women that
were compareding the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 3 (55:47):
I don't want to talk to none of them scoring
good women, all right.
Speaker 9 (55:52):
We got we got Tail out there that's dating. We
got some sim that's out there dating, Sidney that's out
there dating allegedly allegedly.
Speaker 3 (56:00):
Well, we can talk to some of our women up here.
Speaker 9 (56:02):
They talk about some of the things that they've been
going through and what their thoughts on dating men that
don't necessarily make more of than them or are not,
you know, super duper dcho What.
Speaker 3 (56:10):
If everybody broke though? Like what if everybody on the
come up?
Speaker 13 (56:13):
That's the other thing that nobody ever takes from the consideration,
Like what if everybody's on the come up?
Speaker 9 (56:17):
How come we can't build and grow together? Nobody ever
talks about that. But at what age do you stop
being on the come up?
Speaker 3 (56:23):
You know what I mean? You forty five or fifty
stell on the come up? Maybe you don't. You never know.
You might need to in nowadays, you need to incomes
in the household, you know, just to make ends meet.
Speaker 9 (56:32):
But we'll talk about it when we come back. That
was your rum of reports. Now, Charlamagne donkey to day,
we're geting a Dounkeanto man.
Speaker 13 (56:37):
I need a Yon Winner. He's the co founder of
Rollerstone magazine. I need them to come to the front
of the congregation. We like to have a world in police.
Speaker 3 (56:43):
All right, we'll get to that next and it will
take your calls, so don't move. It's the breakfast Club.
Speaker 4 (56:46):
Come morning, the breakfast Club. Your mornings will never be
the same.
Speaker 3 (56:55):
It's time for Donkey of the day, Dona Democrat. Being
donkey of the day is a little bit of a
mixed so like a donkey. Okay, donk here to day
the club pitcher.
Speaker 9 (57:09):
Now I've been called a lot of my twenty three years.
That donkey of the day is a new one.
Speaker 13 (57:13):
Yes, donkey today for Monday, September eighteenth, Oh Monday, it
goes the Yon Winner. Jan is the co founder of
Rolling Stone magazine, and he's seventy seven years old. Okay,
when you seventy seven, you have the license to say
whatever you want, however you want to whoever you want.
But you are not exempt from the backlash. Are the
consequences of saying what the hell you want? I mean,
there are many consequences for a seventy seven year old anyway.
Speaker 3 (57:35):
But Yan has been.
Speaker 13 (57:36):
Removed from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundations
Board after some criticism he got for comments he made
in the New York Times interview.
Speaker 3 (57:43):
See.
Speaker 13 (57:43):
Yan has a book coming out called The Masters, which
features interviews he conducted with artists such as John Lennon,
Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, just to name a few, and
some other people.
Speaker 3 (57:53):
While at the helm of Rolling Stone Magazine.
Speaker 13 (57:55):
I think it's seven interviews all together, all white males,
and he's spoke about his decision to not include interviews
with women and black artists to needless to say, the
conversation didn't go well.
Speaker 3 (58:06):
Let's go to NBC News for your port police.
Speaker 27 (58:08):
Rolling Stone Magazine co founder Yon Winner explains why he
only included white men in his new book The Masters.
Speaker 26 (58:16):
Insofar as the women, I mean, there were just none
of them were as articulate enough on this intellectual level.
Oh stop it, you're telling you, Jonny Mitchell is not
articulate enough. It's not that they're not creative geniuses. It's
not that they're inarticulate. Although you go, I have a
deep conversation with Gray Slick or Janis, please.
Speaker 3 (58:33):
Be my guest.
Speaker 27 (58:34):
Those comments, published Friday from an interview with New York
Times magazine, now criticized as sexist and racist. Do you
think the foundation Winner helped create? Issuing a terse statement
Saturday saying Jan Rinner has been removed from the board
of directors of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,
Foundation Overnight Winner releasing an apology. In my interview with
(58:56):
The New York Times, I made comments that diminished the contributions,
genius and impact of black and women artists, and I
apologize wholeheartedly for those remarks.
Speaker 13 (59:07):
Jon said that black and women artists weren't articulate enough
on an intellectual level to be interviewed for his book
The Master Statt. Irony in this statement is Jan isn't
smart enough to not say this out loud. Okay, if
you feel that way, fine, you can't change it was
in a person's heart. But to speak this out loud, now, why? Right?
Speaker 3 (59:26):
Fun fact, Tina Turner.
Speaker 13 (59:28):
Black woman with the second person ever on the cover
of Rolling Stone, clearly first woman, clearly, first black person
on the second of an issue of Rolling Stone Magazine,
November twenty fifth, nineteen sixty seven.
Speaker 3 (59:37):
John Lennon was the first.
Speaker 13 (59:38):
Now I know Tina Turner is no longer with us,
but I'm making that point to say, clearly, Yon understands
the value of black people and women in music. He
just doesn't believe intellectually we are capable of having a
conversation about said music. This is like Gray season one
on one, Okay, the stereotype of the dumb black had
all these false presumptions and biases for years trying to
(01:00:00):
prove that black people are biologically and intellectually inferior to
white people, and same with women. You know, good old
fashioned sexism wants women to believe that they are dumbing
in men. That's what's so stupid about these comments Yon made.
Not only are they rooted in foolishness that can be
easily debunked. He doesn't even have an intellectual argument as
to why he didn't put black people in women in
his book.
Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
Okay.
Speaker 13 (01:00:20):
In fact, he said, for public relations sake, maybe I
should have gone and found one black and one woman
artist to include here that didn't measure up to that
same historical standard, just to avert this kind of criticism.
That's not an intellectual argument at all. It's just a
racist and sexist one.
Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
Okay.
Speaker 13 (01:00:36):
I need Yon to articulate to me, why do you
feel a woman and black people didn't deserve to be
in this book called The Masters. If Stevie Wonder not
a master of his craft, okay, if you ask me,
Stevie Wondall run circles around everybody.
Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
You got featured in this book.
Speaker 13 (01:00:49):
There is no intellectual reason as to why Joni Mitchell
shouldn't be interviewed either. We probably could listen to both
of them Watx poetic about music for days, but Yon
can't because he already has. You can see prejudices about
black people and women. Okay, to Yon, Stevie Wonder and
other black people sound like this one.
Speaker 3 (01:01:06):
They talk.
Speaker 14 (01:01:08):
But an adult and but these but boys are.
Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
With me.
Speaker 3 (01:01:14):
To Yan Joni Mitchell, and women sound like this when
they talk.
Speaker 13 (01:01:17):
Yeahs m, Well, Jan to us, you sound like this.
Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
That's right.
Speaker 13 (01:01:30):
Please let Chelsea Handle give Yon Winner the biggest he
huh hee haw hee haw.
Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
That is way too much. Dan Maynes, Kathy Griffin want
in on this.
Speaker 27 (01:01:40):
Please give this giant jar male the biggest he hawm.
Speaker 13 (01:01:47):
Shall Little Mama said, when they go low, we go high.
I feel sometimes when they go low we should go
to the floor with them.
Speaker 3 (01:01:54):
Chris Rock want in on this.
Speaker 13 (01:01:56):
Oh okay, okay, oh girl, my girl, my girls to
working fast food right, okay, okay, it's gonna be busy today. Okay,
all right, all right, well thank you for that donkey
in today.
Speaker 9 (01:02:08):
Yes, indeed, b e t we see out them all
piece bt everybody else. Let's open up the phone lines
eight hundred five, eight five, one oh five to one
hotel and just walk right in. I love this now
tell Tyler Perry thinks that successful black women should be
open minded about who their partners are and splitting the bills.
Maybe sometimes it's okay if you make more money than
(01:02:30):
the person that you are dating.
Speaker 3 (01:02:32):
Yeah, he's basically telling women to move like how men
have been moving for years.
Speaker 13 (01:02:36):
Men that have always been financial more financially well off
have always dated women that on on that tame financial level.
Speaker 3 (01:02:43):
Now social media is at the beginning of time social media.
Speaker 9 (01:02:46):
Women on social media said that if a man can
only afford to pay a bill here and there, maybe
he's not ready to be in a serious relationship.
Speaker 3 (01:02:52):
I don't agree with that either.
Speaker 9 (01:02:53):
Some also say that instead of telling women to lower
their standards, maybe Tyler Perry should encourage men to rise
to the so so so.
Speaker 13 (01:03:01):
By that logic, women should rise to the occasion too
when they want to date men that our way out
of their financial needs wecome. Nobody ever tells women, hey,
step up financially well, let's go to date somebody who
got money.
Speaker 9 (01:03:12):
Let's open up the phone lines. Let's have this discussion
eight hundred and five eight five, one or five women.
Speaker 3 (01:03:16):
What do you think we have? Let's start with Taylor.
Taylor and Sydney's in the room right now. Taylor thoughts, wait,
say what you just said? No, she's ready for all
what you just said.
Speaker 22 (01:03:26):
No, you said that women need to step up. We've
been stepped up. That's why.
Speaker 3 (01:03:30):
Listen to what he said.
Speaker 13 (01:03:31):
He said that, Uh you said women said that instead
of telling Tyler, Instead of Tyler Perry saying lower your standards,
tell women to step up, No, tell men step up financially.
Speaker 3 (01:03:42):
Right, So, so for all of these years, when it's
been men who have had.
Speaker 13 (01:03:47):
More money than women, how come nobody ever told women, hey,
you step up financially if you want to date somebody
who's rich.
Speaker 3 (01:03:51):
Whenever y'all say I want you a baller, I want
somebody who got all this money.
Speaker 13 (01:03:54):
How come nobody ever tells you if you broke, hey
step up, you step up financially.
Speaker 11 (01:03:58):
I agree with that, though.
Speaker 6 (01:03:59):
Anyway, I'm not ever asking for I'm not rich myself,
so I'm not asking for necessarily rich man.
Speaker 22 (01:04:03):
It'll be nice by one guy. That's financially stable like.
Speaker 9 (01:04:08):
A manoul wan a woman who's financial exactly, So forgot
what what is financially stable? So if a guy is
not making you know, ballerrific money and let's just say
he has a regular nine five doing.
Speaker 6 (01:04:16):
Well, yeah exactly, like as long as he has time
to make time for me, like take me out on
dates as well.
Speaker 9 (01:04:24):
He can't take you out all the time because he
has bills, but he can't. You can't take it for love,
That's what that's what, that's what.
Speaker 13 (01:04:28):
I can not looking for a man with good caris
how come men are looking for a woman of good character?
Speaker 3 (01:04:33):
City? You wanted somebody who paid the bills? No, but
I'm saying that comes with it, like the bill.
Speaker 13 (01:04:38):
And I don't think you should look for nothing in
anyone you don't have in yourself, Sidney, Exactly what do
you say city?
Speaker 3 (01:04:44):
Good morning? What about producers?
Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
Yes?
Speaker 13 (01:04:46):
Why you got the camera on the city because he's
doing both jobs jobs, she's doing job.
Speaker 3 (01:04:51):
Got your phone name getting set up there?
Speaker 12 (01:04:54):
What?
Speaker 22 (01:04:54):
The love can also be deeply rooted in the pockets too,
I have to say.
Speaker 8 (01:05:01):
And there's there's a lot of like self security that
you know what we're gonna come back on it.
Speaker 6 (01:05:06):
But don't they say that marriage A lot of times
marriage break ups because of finance.
Speaker 22 (01:05:11):
Yes, just says I have something because you know what.
Finance also has to do it. Character growing too, Michelle.
Speaker 3 (01:05:18):
You know both these women from Phillips you different.
Speaker 13 (01:05:24):
All I'm saying is, don't look for nothing than anybody
you don't have in yourself, and the tangibles you should
be really looking for in a person is good character.
Speaker 3 (01:05:31):
That's good characters that are good people.
Speaker 22 (01:05:33):
The character comes with like are you.
Speaker 3 (01:05:36):
No, no, no in the way.
Speaker 22 (01:05:38):
Are you ambitious?
Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
So like that, are all ambitious? What are we call
an ambition?
Speaker 13 (01:05:43):
Like we I think I think we put we put
too much creatives on dollar amounts sometime. Man, because it
doesn't it's because you're not a multi millionaire. Don't mean
you're not ambitious.
Speaker 9 (01:05:51):
Doesn't mean a good person that I'm saying, Family, let's
open up the phone line talk some more.
Speaker 3 (01:06:00):
I want to hear what Sidney has to see when
we come back to eight hundred five.
Speaker 13 (01:06:04):
Who's eight hundred and a whole bunch of nothing?
Speaker 3 (01:06:10):
Five five women.
Speaker 9 (01:06:12):
Want to hear from your women out there this morning.
Call us up right now, let's discuss. It's the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 3 (01:06:16):
Good morning, the Breakfast Club. It's topic time.
Speaker 4 (01:06:27):
Eight hundred five five one five one to join into
the discussion with the breakfast Club.
Speaker 3 (01:06:33):
Morning everybody.
Speaker 9 (01:06:33):
It's DJ Envy, Charlamagne, the gud We are the Breakfast Club.
Now if you're just joining, we're talking about this interview
that Tyler Perry said, and Tyler Perry said this in
an interview.
Speaker 2 (01:06:43):
In our society right now, black women are making a
lot more money for the most part than black men.
Right There are a lot of black men who are successful,
but for the most part, black women are making the money.
So you if you can find love, if that man
works at whatever job and it's a good man, and
it's good to you and honors and honors the house
and honors white and does what he can because his
(01:07:07):
gift may not be your gift exactly. That is okay,
that's not somebody who's beneath you. That's somebody who came
to love you at your work, right and as long
as he's secure in himself to know that, Yep, she
makes most of the money.
Speaker 3 (01:07:19):
All I can pay is the light bill.
Speaker 2 (01:07:21):
As long as she's comfortable enough to say, I'm gonna
cover the mortgage and all the other stuff you've handed
light build baby, you can take me to dinner and
every now and then.
Speaker 3 (01:07:28):
That is fine.
Speaker 10 (01:07:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:07:30):
That love, that support that I got you, babe, it's
a beautiful thing. So we're asking eight hundred five eight
five one five one. We're talking to women out there,
are black women out there. Do you believe what he says?
Do you believe where you know? You should stop looking
for a pockets and look more for love. I definitely
think everybody's just stop looking for pockets. You should definitely
look for love. You should look for a person that's
got good character. You look, you should look for a
(01:07:51):
person that's got a good spirit. You know what I'm saying,
like somebody that's gonna hold you down, you know, as
a human, like because finances go up, finances go down. Great, Like,
it's not always going to be about money.
Speaker 13 (01:08:01):
If if, if all, if all it takes is money,
what are you you hope that's the truth matters money?
Speaker 3 (01:08:10):
Response up here?
Speaker 8 (01:08:12):
Okay, but keep in mind, as much as you're telling
us to go look for deeper than just the wallets,
some people just don't have any depth.
Speaker 3 (01:08:20):
There's nothing else to that.
Speaker 13 (01:08:21):
Well, I don't think you have any depth of all
you looking forward to money? No, no, no, I don't
think if all you're saying is.
Speaker 3 (01:08:29):
I wanted somebody with money. What if he checks all
the boxes.
Speaker 9 (01:08:31):
He's a great guy, he treats you well, he's you
can see him being a great father.
Speaker 3 (01:08:36):
He does everything except financial.
Speaker 6 (01:08:39):
You could be friends because from me, No, look for me,
I'm just saying ambition, like that's more important than money, Richie.
Speaker 13 (01:08:49):
So ambition equates the wealth, like you have to have
wealth to be ambitious. No, no, no, no, that makes
zero sense.
Speaker 3 (01:08:58):
But let's let let's let's go to the phone.
Speaker 9 (01:09:00):
There's a lot of people on the line. These filling
women are fair, tough boy, and that's what he's saying.
Speaker 3 (01:09:04):
Hello, who is hi? I'm Jocelyn, Hey, Jocely, good morning,
good morning. Now let's let's talk about what Tyler Perry said.
What's your thoughts?
Speaker 7 (01:09:12):
I think Tyler Perry's statement is rooted and idealism. Like this,
we're not talking about millionaire salaries. We're talking about average salaries.
And even if it's two hundred thousand and three hundred
thousand and eight dollars a year that a woman is making.
Men contribute different things to a relationship as women. So
a man who doesn't make a lot of money is
not going to come in the house and cook and
(01:09:33):
clean and you know, show up a nice lauderie and
d all those things.
Speaker 17 (01:09:36):
Why would.
Speaker 14 (01:09:39):
They still?
Speaker 3 (01:09:40):
Why would I.
Speaker 13 (01:09:43):
Would cook and I would clean? You know what I'm
saying by way, you're acting person.
Speaker 7 (01:09:51):
They've always been apt to settle, and then when they
fall and their salaries fall and they fall into a
financial situation, it's like, why do you marry that brokelyn?
Why do you marry a man who could?
Speaker 3 (01:10:00):
Because I was broke too, and you wo attract what
you are.
Speaker 7 (01:10:04):
I'm realistic now, I don't think.
Speaker 13 (01:10:07):
This is settling. I really don't think this is settling.
I think that you know, you shouldn't asked for anything
in somebody else that you don't have in yourself. Don't
look for nothing in anyone that you don't have in yourself. Now, see,
I really feel like, can you make those kind of
demands envy?
Speaker 9 (01:10:20):
I really feel like when when I think things got worse,
when people started concentrating on money, right, and I just
looked back at my parents, my aunts, my uncles, my grandparents.
They didn't have money.
Speaker 3 (01:10:31):
It was just it was about love.
Speaker 9 (01:10:32):
My dad was a police officer, my mom worked at
an insurance compan They was money. They just fell in love.
But then I also think about you know, when I
met my wife, I was fifteen sixty, it wasn't about money.
Speaker 3 (01:10:40):
We didn't have any money.
Speaker 13 (01:10:41):
Can you imagine being this is this thing about you
broke as hell, but you like, I don't want nobody
but a rich man.
Speaker 2 (01:10:47):
You broke.
Speaker 3 (01:10:48):
Why would that rich man want you broke? You shouldn't
be dating. I don't believe that either. Where are these
stupid rules coming from?
Speaker 5 (01:10:55):
Hello?
Speaker 3 (01:10:56):
Hello, Hey, what's your day?
Speaker 12 (01:10:58):
Hey?
Speaker 3 (01:10:58):
What's your thoughts to what Tyler Perry said?
Speaker 14 (01:10:59):
Mama, I do.
Speaker 17 (01:11:01):
I do understand where he's coming from. And I do
also understand where Charlamagne is coming from, because I feel
that way as well. But I don't think he's saying
Lord your standards. I'm just I think he's just speaking
on if you are with someone who just works a
regular nine to five, and he's affecting that, he's treating
you right, He's taking care of the things that he
can take care of with If you're working, you can
take care of something, and it's a genuine person. Don't
(01:11:25):
try to look for someone who makes all of this
money just for you, not to receive other things that
are important as well, like don't necessarily worry about finances.
But I do understand where Charlo Maine is coming from.
With women, they do cand to always say they want
to stand with so much money and all these things,
but they don't have as much money as well. They
want a man with all these fancy cars, but they
don't have none.
Speaker 13 (01:11:45):
At all, right, Because that's just right, Because why would
a rich man want a broke woman? Why would I
want a woman who just wants me for my money?
You know what I'm saying that I'm gonna end up
giving you half of everything that I've ever acquired when
this relationship is over.
Speaker 9 (01:11:58):
For what I mean, I see, I think some times
people look for boxes that are unrealistic, right, checkboxes that
are unrealistic.
Speaker 3 (01:12:04):
What about finding love?
Speaker 14 (01:12:05):
Right?
Speaker 9 (01:12:06):
And shout out to my sister Mercedes. You know, my
sister Mercedes's about sixty three, right, she wants somebody taller
than her.
Speaker 3 (01:12:10):
Right. But I'm once you get to that that, you
know that pool it's hard.
Speaker 13 (01:12:16):
No difficult. But I'll tell you a lot. I tell
you why it's not from Mercedes. Why because she'd be
around all in ball players.
Speaker 2 (01:12:23):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:12:23):
So you in that mix, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 13 (01:12:26):
You're not six foot three, you know, just walking around
blending New Jersey somewhere, you know, with a bunch of
five six, five seven people.
Speaker 9 (01:12:33):
But if a guy is five eight and five nine
is a nice guy, he's treating you the right way.
Why do you x him out just because he's he's
challenging the height department.
Speaker 13 (01:12:41):
No, I don't want that either, because it's Mercedes feet
too big. Shut up, Man said, that's why I wouldn't that.
That's my personal opinion. Give me the nicest person in
the world, but she can't be wearing my sneak.
Speaker 3 (01:12:54):
Eight hundred Man, eight hundred five eighty five one on
five one.
Speaker 9 (01:12:57):
We're talking about something, Tyler Perry said, let's just gush.
Speaker 3 (01:13:01):
It's the breakfast Tell good morning. It's topic.
Speaker 4 (01:13:04):
Times called eight hundred and five eight five one to
join into the discussion with the breakfast club.
Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
Talk about it. Good morning as a body. DJ NV
Charlamagne to God, we are the Breakfast Club. Now, if
you just join us.
Speaker 9 (01:13:21):
We're talking about something that Tyler Perry said in an interview.
Speaker 3 (01:13:24):
This is what he said.
Speaker 2 (01:13:25):
In our society right now, black women are making a
lot more money for the most part than black men.
Right There are a lot of black men who are successful,
but for the most part, black women are making the money.
So you, if you can find love, if that man
works at whatever job and is a good man, and
it's good to you and honors and honors the house
and honors white and does what he can because his
(01:13:49):
gift may not be your gift exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:13:51):
That is okay.
Speaker 2 (01:13:52):
That's not somebody who's beneath you. That's somebody who came
to love you at your work, right and as long
as he's secure in himself to know that, Yep, she
makes most of the money. All I can pay is
the light deal. As long as she's comfortable enough to say,
I'm gonna cover the mortgage and all the other stuff.
You've had a light deal, baby, you can take me
to dinner and every now and then.
Speaker 3 (01:14:10):
That is fine. Yeah. That love, that support that I
got you, babe, it's a beautiful thing. Now, Victoria, somebody
else that works up here, and.
Speaker 13 (01:14:20):
She came in here so dominican. Just now, she came
in here, very mean. She was so Dominican when she
walked in this room. Tell him to say exactly how
you said it when you walked in the room.
Speaker 3 (01:14:28):
I said, we can't be two broki's together, and I said, yes,
you can't.
Speaker 13 (01:14:32):
No, we can. And sometimes you might just have to
be there might not be any other choice, but y'all
might come up together.
Speaker 8 (01:14:39):
But when we get into that situation of like, oh,
I'm not happy, like but you knew what he was
when you met him, and now he was in.
Speaker 3 (01:14:45):
Here telling me I need to rock with the broken
makes you think you're gonna be happy with the rich man.
Speaker 13 (01:14:48):
The rich man gonna probably treat you worse because the
rich man is like, you don't bring nothing to the table.
Speaker 3 (01:14:52):
You keep saying, So, what is financially stable? I just said,
someone that's able to take me out as well.
Speaker 11 (01:15:03):
I'm not asking for no boogie sever anything.
Speaker 3 (01:15:06):
Give me a number. What's financially stable to you? Salary rise?
Speaker 22 (01:15:10):
I would like for her to be at least like
eighty thousands.
Speaker 3 (01:15:12):
Okay, I like that.
Speaker 9 (01:15:13):
So if you're just joining us now, collective up pair
our producers out there, that that work in the back.
Speaker 3 (01:15:18):
You're always chasing waterfalls.
Speaker 9 (01:15:22):
That's now, Victoria. You came in here a little spicy
vic Now for God, treat you well. That's everything he's
supposed to do. He's not cheating, know how to saucer.
Speaker 15 (01:15:34):
What is it?
Speaker 3 (01:15:38):
But does not have much money? Do you still date them? Yeah,
as long as you're not too broke.
Speaker 14 (01:15:46):
But that's all.
Speaker 3 (01:15:47):
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 13 (01:15:47):
I just don't want you all to stop looking for love, man,
stop looking for good character in people. Man?
Speaker 6 (01:15:52):
What happened to so y'all don't want to go against
what man are supposed to provide and everything else, y'all
want to go against that.
Speaker 3 (01:15:58):
What is it supposed to provide?
Speaker 13 (01:15:59):
What is?
Speaker 3 (01:16:00):
We work hard, some some some what they can't.
Speaker 22 (01:16:04):
All I'm saying is me where I'm at.
Speaker 3 (01:16:05):
That's all I'm saying. And that's all. I don't look
for nothing in anybody you don't have in yourself, met.
Speaker 6 (01:16:10):
Each other, that's all I'm well, if he's a good guy, blah,
but he's not at the level that I'm at.
Speaker 13 (01:16:16):
No, No, But I want you first of all, I
would encourage people to never detail she's a terrible person.
Speaker 3 (01:16:24):
That's not very want you to a woman like that.
Speaker 22 (01:16:35):
I'm going to challenge you. That's what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:16:38):
So let's go to the phone, Philly. Women are crazy. Hello,
who is this?
Speaker 22 (01:16:44):
How you doing?
Speaker 3 (01:16:45):
Good morning? What do you think of what Tyler Perry said?
Speaker 2 (01:16:48):
I think she was wrong.
Speaker 5 (01:16:49):
Honestly, it's in the Bible to get out and work, man.
I'm just saying, read the Bible like that's that's to
the hierarchy of things. The man is supposed to protect
and provide, like, yes, I gotta take care. You might
as well be one of my kids.
Speaker 9 (01:17:09):
Provide doesn't necessarily mean buy chanel bags and burkins and cars.
Speaker 3 (01:17:13):
That means food and make sure you're safe. And you
think a man can't protect and provide for you just
because you got more money.
Speaker 5 (01:17:19):
But why am I making more money in the first
place is a question if you're supposed to be I mean,
a real man is not going to take that.
Speaker 11 (01:17:25):
Real that's not true the household.
Speaker 13 (01:17:27):
Now, I wish men thought that. I mean, if men
thought like this, women wouldn't. Who would have been? Who
would women be with women.
Speaker 22 (01:17:35):
At this?
Speaker 5 (01:17:36):
Some cultures they don't even allow their women to work.
I'm not I'm not agreeing with that because I'm an
independent women, very entertendent woman. But at the same time,
I believe the man is supposed to hold everything down.
A woman is supposed to hold down the kids, a
household him mentally, physically, emotionally. And why I have to
do all of that and provide some money as well.
Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
Well, let me ask you a question.
Speaker 13 (01:17:58):
If you already got the money as a woman, if
you rich already, there's only one other thing to have.
Speaker 3 (01:18:03):
And that's Love's the only one thing to have. That's
a man that's gonna hold you down, to protect you
and care for you. That's it.
Speaker 5 (01:18:10):
But how do we love himself that he's an adequate
to provide financially?
Speaker 3 (01:18:15):
He might have twelve inches? Whoa he might have who
that's what you need? The man might have twelve inches, man,
the man. Nobody wants that.
Speaker 8 (01:18:29):
Anybody wants that.
Speaker 3 (01:18:31):
Y'all like twelve inches. Y'all want money. Change. I don't
know what y'all, what's the more than the story? We
know what you want.
Speaker 13 (01:18:37):
The story is just simple for me. Don't look for
nothing in anybody you don't have in yourself. And everybody
got to stop looking at finances that's the reason to
be with somebody, because at the end of the day,
finances ain't gonna keep you all together. Love is gonna
keep y all together, you know, because you gotta grow
old with this person. You gotta actually like this person.
Speaker 3 (01:18:54):
You know what I'm saying. If y'all don't have that,
I don't know what to tell you. He also needs
a four on one game, all right? Well, sure when
we come.
Speaker 13 (01:19:04):
Right, you know what I'm saying, there's plenty of Richmond
that will treat y'all terribly.
Speaker 8 (01:19:08):
How we're gonna grow old together if you can't afford
to grow old together?
Speaker 3 (01:19:12):
Don't know what they're talking about right now.
Speaker 7 (01:19:14):
I just know.
Speaker 3 (01:19:15):
Tell me why rich Man would want to broke woman?
Speaker 13 (01:19:16):
Nobody can ever rich Okay, Why I would a financially
stable person want a woman who's not financially stable?
Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
Question?
Speaker 13 (01:19:25):
Why would a financially stable man want a woman who's
not financially stable?
Speaker 6 (01:19:30):
I can't.
Speaker 3 (01:19:31):
I agree with you, you know, the like the But
that's also their ego.
Speaker 6 (01:19:36):
To a lot of times, a lot of guys want
to I know a lot of guys that want to
be able to make more than the woman for their
ego standpoint, not necessarily like and.
Speaker 13 (01:19:46):
I would tell you that's not the type of man
y'all should be alright, well, I will tell you I
would tell your runs from that type of guy.
Speaker 3 (01:19:52):
But when we come back and got your room and report,
we got to talk off set.
Speaker 16 (01:19:56):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (01:19:56):
He told somebody to pull up, and they pulled up.
And we'll get into it next. It's Breakfast, Legal Morning,
the Breakfast Club, mourning.
Speaker 3 (01:20:05):
Everybody's t J n V.
Speaker 9 (01:20:07):
Charlamagne to God. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get
to the rumors. We got to start off with an
R I P.
Speaker 3 (01:20:15):
Or you've gossip. This is the rumor report.
Speaker 24 (01:20:20):
I mean, I guess we're on the breakfast Club. This
is where the tea spells.
Speaker 3 (01:20:22):
Right, yes, now I know you guys.
Speaker 9 (01:20:25):
Remember the girl group, the R and B Girl Group
seven oh two, right, Well, Irish Grinstead, one of the
members in the group, was she died. She passed away
at the age of forty three years old. That's way
too young to pass absolutely now the cause of death
was now given. The group announced in December that Irish
was taking a medical leave of absence due to serious
medical issues.
Speaker 13 (01:20:45):
So we'll definitely sending her family healing your energy. Man,
that's horrible. Three is way, way, way, way way too
young to go.
Speaker 9 (01:20:52):
Now, Columbus short. He talks why he named his son
after Denzel Washington.
Speaker 1 (01:20:58):
Tell you just quick, a little, quick, small story about
Denzel Denzel. Why did I name my son Denzel? My
son's name is Denzel Denzel. He kept a little with me,
like I kept making me feel like a little nit.
He had you, He had you was training today. He
was the white boy in training today. He kept doing
that to me real. So finally I was like, boom,
(01:21:20):
I'm just truncating the story. When my son was about
to be born, I was like, man. My wife was like,
what what are we name of her son? I was
like Denzel, because why because now he's my little m'sdeed.
Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
Wait, minut y'all know I'm not the highest grade weed,
so I don't always get there. What was deep about that?
What What did I miss him? That was not that?
That was not a flex.
Speaker 13 (01:21:46):
So you want to project the hurt that Denzel did
the you onto your child, That pain and that trauma
you felt because Denzel didn't give you what you needed.
You want that to be on your son. That ain't
a flex, young man, that ain't that ain't the flex?
He think that is at all?
Speaker 2 (01:22:05):
Brother?
Speaker 13 (01:22:06):
Actually kind of a yeah, I want you to you
supposed to go sit down and talk to somebody about
that kind of hurt if seriously, if Denzel hurt him
in that way.
Speaker 3 (01:22:16):
That you're gonna name me your son and that makes
no sense, like because.
Speaker 13 (01:22:21):
Then the the Denzel Washington is not your son. This
new life that you brought into the the world is
your son. Like that's that's that's strange And why did
that man say deep? There was no push back to.
Speaker 3 (01:22:36):
That at all, challenging in the making podcast. They must
have been recording for a long time and he was
just ready to.
Speaker 9 (01:22:44):
Go here like that's thanks for joining us, man, Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
my god. And lastly, Offset and Nicki Minaj's husband got
into it. It seems like, well it all started at
the v M as I guess uh I guess said
it was an argument or somebody thought that somebody says
something off sets to put your location, and they were
(01:23:05):
allegedly in these New York streets looking for Offset Big cleans.
Speaker 3 (01:23:10):
Yeah, sturdy nigga was popping.
Speaker 15 (01:23:14):
Money, man, what.
Speaker 21 (01:23:17):
You don't know?
Speaker 4 (01:23:18):
They said, you don't know big zoom vacation playing your funeral.
Speaker 3 (01:23:23):
Let's play what's up? They wanted to come at me
after real amazement. I ain't even we ain't even do
nothing to nobody, man, yo.
Speaker 9 (01:23:34):
Yeah, Offset respond that he was on a jet and
he responded, not the only reason before, we're doing these
stories because it was trending. And can we talk about
this which part this video we just heard, part of
telling themselves.
Speaker 13 (01:23:46):
There's nothing sadder than this kind of behavior. Is grown ass, man,
it's corny, it's lame. You're forty five plus years old,
you are father, you a husband, and you outside on
the street threatening people looking like a world star hip
hop video from two thousand and nine. That's very weak,
not to incriminating yourself. And you also have zero respect
for your woman and who your woman is, because whether
you realize it or not, you're an extension of Nicki
(01:24:09):
Minaja's brand and you shouldn't do anything to tarnish the
brand and your your woman in that way.
Speaker 3 (01:24:13):
Well, Offset responded, and he responded with this get.
Speaker 9 (01:24:22):
Broke, we up and out Jacks that he was on
his way to Colorado to see uh uh deon Sanders.
Speaker 3 (01:24:31):
Uh and his team play why people don't want to
grow up? Like, like, what's wrong with growing up?
Speaker 14 (01:24:36):
Like?
Speaker 13 (01:24:36):
What's wrong with growing up and acting like a goddamn adult,
acting like you you know you actually care for other
little souls out here, we fathers man.
Speaker 3 (01:24:45):
Well, see, this is the thing that I mean.
Speaker 9 (01:24:46):
We all have differences, right, we could have differences with somebody,
but it's how you handle the difference.
Speaker 16 (01:24:50):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (01:24:50):
But you know, going to the middle of Manhattan and
recording it and then telling everybody recording it now, it's
nothing ever gums good of it. Because if anything ever
happens to any of those people, offset or anybody else,
who they gonna go do first?
Speaker 13 (01:25:02):
Absolutely, muhammadn go to first, Muhammad alistaid. A man who
thinks the same way at fifty that they did at
twenty wasted thirty years of their life.
Speaker 3 (01:25:12):
Why are brother still wasting their life in this way?
Speaker 13 (01:25:14):
And once again, have some respect for your wife, your woman,
like she's a brand. No, she's a brand. Whatever you do,
you know, is an extension of her brand. Don't do
anything to tarnish her brand, right, don't make her look corny?
And that is your room or report.
Speaker 3 (01:25:29):
That's very corny.
Speaker 9 (01:25:30):
People's choice mixes up next eight hundred and five, eight five,
one oh five, get your request and.
Speaker 4 (01:25:35):
Let's go the Breakfast Club. Your mornings will never be
the same morning.
Speaker 9 (01:25:40):
Everybody's DJ n V, Charlamagne the God. We are the
Breakfast Club.
Speaker 2 (01:25:44):
Now.
Speaker 9 (01:25:45):
I just got to say salute again. Salute to everybody
that came out this weekend. I hosted an advanced screening
of Poor Patrol for all the first responders in their families.
It comes out September twenty ninth, Saturday, twenty ninth Saturday,
September twenty ninth, I should say, and I just want
to say salute again. Everybody came out. Me and my family,

in New York City, got a chance to see a
(01:26:26):
bunch of step shows and band performances. Big Daddy Camee
performed that halftime that financial literacy panels and career days.
So again, salute to everybody that was a part of
that HBCU NY classic.
Speaker 3 (01:26:39):
Albert, what I appreciate you as well. What you did
this week is shallo.
Speaker 13 (01:26:43):
I went Apple figure. I was on the couch with
the kids and I went appleficking. That's what I did
this weekend. Okay, I like to sit my ass down.
Y'all be too mixy for no damn reason. Okay, all right,
he said, too mixing. This took the kids out, Damn
too mixing.
Speaker 3 (01:26:58):
Oh I took. I took my daughter to I Fly
to thought that was pretty dope. She enjoyed that. I fly.
Speaker 9 (01:27:01):
If you get a chance, if it makes you feel
like you're I guess like skydiving. But anyway, it was
pretty dope. But anyway, when we come back positive, notice
the Breakfast Club. Good morning morning everybody. It's DJ Envy
Charlamagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. It's time
to get up out of here, charlamaon you got a
positive note, I do it.
Speaker 13 (01:27:17):
But I also want to tell people, man, make sure
I see you Saturday, October seventh at my third annual

Speaker 13 (01:27:58):
Now, the positive note is simply this, let's stop assuming
because someone is older that they are mature. Maturity clearly
comes with self awareness and growth, not age breakfast club.
Speaker 3 (01:28:09):
Bitch it
