one that when she gives you the slaps in the
back of the head like that that weird. I know, I know,

surprise good morning, so it was dope to see that.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
And then also another family friend, uh, they had their
gender reveal. So they're having a boy. This is their
first child together, so they were super duper excited. So
just to see love and just family. This whole week
it was was really dope. And then sudden my giants
lost again, so I'm giving up on football.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
For the blood.

Speaker 1 (02:35):

traveling this weekend real quick. I went somewhere Thursday night
and came back Saturday, Saturday morning.

Speaker 8 (02:44):
I was traveling.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
I mean it wasn't the easiest, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (02:47):

been that you put your stuff. One of them he
threw the ben and then one of the other they
work and said something to him, and he was just
like I don't care. We're not getting paid no way.
So I know they're happy about the news that the
Senate and is advancing a building in the longest government
shutdown this morning, So all the TSA workers.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
I'm sure Mimi will be breaking all that down because
I think it doesn't happen right away. Congress still has
to yeah right away, Yeah, but product, I guess that's right.

Speaker 4 (03:36):

Speaker 5 (04:05):
Act right, I'm like, they gotta buy week It's crazy.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
Okay, Good morning, meet me, Good morning.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
MV Josh Charlamage.

Speaker 9 (04:13):
How y'all doing this morning?

Speaker 4 (04:14):
I'm doing good.

Speaker 10 (04:15):
Good, good morning. All right, So we start this morning
with breaking news. After forty days, there's finally some movement
on the longest government shut down in US history. Now, overnight,
the Senate took its first major step toward reopening the government,
with eight Democrats breaking ranks and joining Republicans in a
key procedural vote to move a new funding deal forward.

(04:38):
The final vote was sixty to forty, enough to start
the debate on the bill, but the vote doesn't end
the shutdown just yet. Now the measure still needs to
go before the Senate for a final vote, then approval
from the House before it can head to the President's
desk for his signature.

Speaker 9 (04:53):
Now here's what's included though in that new bill.

Speaker 10 (04:56):
That this plan would keep the government running through January thirtieth,
store pay for hundreds of thousands of furloughed workers and
make sure they can't be laid off again through the
rest of the fiscal year. It also requires agencies to
rehire anyone who was let go during the shutdown, along
with details on how much backpay those workers are owed.

Speaker 11 (05:16):
Now.

Speaker 10 (05:16):
The deal also promises Democrats a Senate vote mid December
on extending the Affordable Care Acts tax credits, a key tool,
a key tool that.

Speaker 9 (05:26):
Helps millions afford health coverage.

Speaker 10 (05:28):
The Democrats they will get to draft that bill themselves,
which was a key compromise, they say, in them voting
to approve this new spending bill. It also locks in
a full year of funding for SNAP, ensuring that food
benefits continue through the next fiscal year. Now, the eight
Democrats Dick Durbin, Tim Kaine, Janine Shaheen, Maggie Hassan, Jackie Rosen,

(05:50):
Catherine Cortes Mastow, John Fetterman, and Independent Angus King, they
all backed the plan after weeks of behind the scene
talks with Republicans. After the vote, several of them held
a press conference to explain their decision.

Speaker 9 (06:04):
Let's listen, it's been six weeks.

Speaker 12 (06:07):
Republicans made it clear they weren't going to discuss the
healthcare issue with Apportable Care Act tax credits until the
shutdown was over. We tried to keep working that it
didn't happen. The vote that we have is not a
guarantee for sure. As I assessed it, there was zero
chance of dealing with the ACA issue as long as

(06:28):
the shutdown continue. Now I don't know fifty to fifty
nothing was happening, and there was no evidence that another
week or another two weeks, or Thanksgiving or Christmas was
suddenly the Republicans we want to come to us and say, oh,
we want to now talk about THEACA.

Speaker 11 (06:45):
The real question is why we're the president of the
United States hungry children against six children. The American people
will see who stands with them on healthcare and who
does not, and that will be the platform of the
next stage of the fire. I hope we can fine
bipartisan agreement on an extension of those premium.

Speaker 5 (07:03):
Tax credits, and if that is.

Speaker 11 (07:05):
Not successful, then shame on the Republican Party and shame
on Donald Trump.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
They are absolutely right.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
But as I was saying last week, mem, I think
Democrats lost, and the reason they lost is because Republicans
already got everything they wanted in this big, beautiful bill
in regards to healthcare, so why would they ever make
any concessions. You know, Republicans weren't gonna give Democrats any
type of win on Obamacare. But I'm gonna tell you something,
I'm not even mad at Democrats. I'm mad at all
the Democrat talking heads who acted like DEM's had a
chance at winning this shutdown. These folks knew what the

(07:33):
outcome was gonna be, and they sold you a lot
of false hope. And we shall address that during Donkey
of the Day. Don't be mad at Democrats. They did
something they don't usually do, and that's fight. Okay, do
not make this about Democrats, Cavin, because they threw a
Hail Mary on behalf of the American people who are
about to get that ASCID kicked because of these healthcare
premiums courtesy are.

Speaker 9 (07:51):
Republicans absolutely Sherla.

Speaker 10 (07:55):
You know, It's also worth noting that none of the
Senators who voted for the deal are up for reelection,
so as of right now, this is just the first step.
The government will remain shut down. Federal agencies are still closed.
The programs that millions of Americans rely on, from food
benefits to air airport staffing. They will remain frozen until

(08:15):
the House votes and the President signs off. But coming
up at seven, we're going to continue breaking down everything
tied to the government shut down, from an overnight snap
ruling to the latest on air air travel.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Right.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
And the reason is taken long is because they have
to fly back to vote, right, and a lot of
them are home right now.

Speaker 8 (08:30):
Right.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
That's the reason why it could take a couple of days.

Speaker 9 (08:33):
It could take a couple of days.

Speaker 10 (08:34):
But there's also Democrats who could hold it up, you know,
and Hakeem Jeffries is promising that he's going to do
whatever he can do to hold this vote up.

Speaker 9 (08:41):
So it we'll just see that.

Speaker 10 (08:43):
I think they're going to use the houses saying they're
not going to vote for it, but they have the
majority for the Republicans, so we'll see what happens.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
And they're spread out everything.

Speaker 10 (08:55):
Yeah, they've been told that they could, you know, stay
on vacation, so we'll see.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
By the way, I told y'all Thursday that once once
the airline started having problems, that this government shutdown is
gonna be over in a couple of days because it's
always corporate interests over the interests of the people.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
Absolutely, let's believe that.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
All right, everybody else, well, thank you mean, we'll see
you next hour. Everybody else, get it off your chest.

think schools are closed. I think they used to be closed.
I think they start school.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Or they just added to things every week so they
make you work tomorrow. They just added to things every week.

miss pat I swear I wanted to suggest her to
be the donkey other day because I really did not
like how she made light of the situation when Charlemagne
voiced that he was molested.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
It why it's bothered me?

Speaker 15 (11:03):
Like I know, Yn laughs and makes like a certain situation.
I know that. I just felt like that was a
real moment and he really like.

Speaker 7 (11:10):
Laughed it off.

Speaker 15 (11:11):
When there's a lot of kids out there being molested
and they're scared to even talk about it, that's like
a stongy yeah, I.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
Give my hug.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
No, but that that's just me, me, me and me
and miss Pep like that, that's that's nothing to be
upset at.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
Miss Alice, should I give my hug?

Speaker 17 (11:26):
You should give him a hug, like even if like
you got a joke, I get it. But like I said,
when she says certain things like kids that watch this
show or like it's people that that's really happening to
it and they could be like really discouraged and something
to even want to speak about.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
You're right, you want to give you a hug from
the back. No, I'm gonna come give you. I'm gonna
get a hug out.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
I said, no, No, I'm not giving you. This is
sexual assault.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
I said no.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
By the way, this is the same thing that I
told her no and she did it.

Speaker 4 (11:57):

my hand off? We said, if I had your hand,
I cut mine off.

neighbor elsoy, that that single mother we know out they're
working that loss of benefits or whatever's going on that
they have. I think it's giving a Christmas and what

It could be stuffing, it could be a turkey, it

(13:54):
could be whatever you can afford it gives to someone.
Now out here in this area where we at, we
try in our best to buy a hundred turkeys, a
hunting voss and a hundred table settings for a hundred families.
So you know we're doing our best. You you know,
we all go through things or whatever. Charlamagne, we talk
all the time. You know my struggle. But at the

(14:16):
end of the day, when you are blessed, you have
to bless someone else. You have to be mindful that
God is working through you and working for you even
when you don't see it.

Speaker 7 (14:28):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 19 (14:29):
So anyone, anyone that is my voice that wants to
help out. Like I said, we're in the Union County area.

And let me salute to Mercedes. Mercedes if you don't know,
it is in my GM and assistance.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
She is six three years old and over the weekend,
she's six three years old. I'm sorry, she's six three
height and sixth grade. She's six three.

Speaker 6 (16:06):
Saying over the weekend six you know what I mean,
she's six for three.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
Over the weekend, they had a only party and she
had the best time ever.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
So she was the older taller person in there. She's
six three years old and she's sixth she's six.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Foot three and now she had the best time. So
I just wanted to salute that. I love the fact
that they had a niche party. It was just for me,
man I said, Niche said Niche. I said niche man.
Whatever you know this morning also to the stadies, got
a side twelve, side twelve and minutes.

Speaker 8 (16:37):
No, she don't.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
She had a good time. She said.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
There was no short people in there. It was all
tall people, and she had made the most of the
most amazing time.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
We make the world go around there, you don'e. And
you know, show people live longer. That is the scientifical fact. Okay,
show people live longer. Into all the pieces.

Speaker 5 (16:58):
Hey, Lauren's going on?

Speaker 4 (17:01):
Coming up? What we're talking about.

Speaker 22 (17:02):
Yes, we're gonna talk about some history, because you watch
history go down over the weekend. Outcasts and Peppa inducting
into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You're gonna
get into all the details.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Hall trying to keep that eye lass from falling off.

Speaker 22 (17:13):
You just don't know how to give a compliment. I
forgot you wasn't here Friday.

Speaker 5 (17:17):
You just life.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Crying, trying to put it back on real.

Speaker 5 (17:22):
Grandma gonna say we find now, Okay, you stop crying.
I was like, it's not about y'all, no more. Good
morning mama.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Wow, all right, we'll get to that next. It's the
breakfast Clogan Morning, the Breakfast club.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
Morning. Everybody is t J n V Jess, Hilariy Chelamage
the guy. We are the breakfast club. Let's get to
the latest with Lauren. Lauren be coming straight fast. She
gets them from somebody that knows, somebody to detail.

Speaker 5 (17:48):
I'm a homegirl that knows a little bit about everything.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
She'd be having the latest on you, the law, the
latest with Lauren la Rosa.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Sometimes you have fact, sometimes you have details. Sometimes you
have a little bit of ever towist.

Speaker 22 (18:00):
The leaders on the breakfast clubs talk to me, ll
cool bab, good morning star.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
What's happening?

Speaker 5 (18:08):
You wanted to say? Somebody last so bad? No I
did it?

Speaker 22 (18:10):
Okay, nothing, Good morning y'all. So over the weekend, the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twenty twenty five inductees
were inducted, and oh my god, it was a great
ceremony lested for about like three hours. But within the ceremony,
Salt and Pepper and Outcasts were inducted in. So, of
course we want to take some time here to just

(18:32):
go through the evening. So Salt and Pepper were inducted first,
and they were inducted by Missy Elliott. Let's take a
listen to Missy Elliott presenting or opening up their induction. Okay, well, yeah,
so Missy Elliott opened the induction and she talked about
how stop it, and she talked about how you last.

(18:55):
She talked about how there was no Salt and Pepper,
there would not be any Missy Elliott. And as she's
inducting them or opening up the conversation and the tribute
to induct them, they're watching both Ladies and Us Spinderella,
of course, and she's just basically talking about how the
industry itself and a lot of the women or all
of the women in the industry, they are on the
shoulders of Salt and Pepper.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
So then that led into Salt.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
To explain these clips because they're not in the system,
because the producers didn't put them.

Speaker 22 (19:22):
There, And then that led into Salt and Pepper being
able to come up and say a few words of
them for themselves.

Speaker 5 (19:29):
Let's take a listen to Salt as they are inducted.
This is for every.

Speaker 23 (19:32):
Woman who picked up a mic when they told her
she couldn't, for every sister who had to fight twice
as hard to be heard, for every artist whoever had
to learn that ownership is the real freedom. Well, we
came up, the industry was different. We didn't have streaming,
we didn't have social media. We had cassette tapes, turntables

(19:55):
and dreams. But even back then, we had to fight
to be heard and to prove our worth. We're in
a fight right now for our masters that rightfully belonged
to us. After forty years, fans can't even stream our music.
It's been taken down from all streaming platforms because the
industry still doesn't want to play fair. We have to

(20:17):
keep using our influence until the industry honors creativity the
way the audience does with love, respect and fairness.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
Sans Wayne. I saw PEMA Music on title visit title. Yeah,
I'm gonna say that right now, shoop and what a
man and push it like.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
What Spotify, because that I know of.

Speaker 22 (20:35):
I know that there were certain streaming platforms that because
of their lawsuit with UMG Universal Music Group, certain songs
were not able to stream.

Speaker 5 (20:41):
And they've been talking about this for some time.

Speaker 22 (20:43):
You remember we did this segment here when they were
on Good One in America and they talked about or
it was either Good One in America or t best mornings,
and they talked about how this was. When it was
announced that they were going to be honored here, they
talked about how amazing it was. But they mentioned again
the fact that they want their you know, they're just due,
and that people can't stream certain things.

Speaker 4 (20:59):
What do you listening to it.

Speaker 5 (20:59):
On on Apple Music? All of this stuff I didn't.
I wonder, well, maybe there maybe it's pretended.

Speaker 6 (21:05):
To, but remember Anita Vicker did that a few a
few years ago until they actually she got all of
that stuff situated, but she was asking for people not
to stream her music until they figure it out with
her because they weren't playing fair with Anita Baker either.
So it's the same thing with Salt and Pepper that
they have their music, but they probably not getting paid

(21:26):
for none of that or so or whatever the case
may be.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
They should figure out they should give it back to them.
Forty years in the game. As much as what they
did in this industry, the trail blazed. If it wasn't
for them, a lot of these artists wouldn't be who
they are today. They should give them that that they're
just to would shout the queens man, they're from Queens
and congratulations to sol.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
So funny about saltn Pepple.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
When you listen to their music now you're like, damn,
this used to be considered raunchy, pushing push.

Speaker 22 (21:48):
Yeah, they were talking about things that people weren't talking about.
MISSI talked about that too, But they also talked a
bit about this as well. And then and they had
told good with Good Morning and America Robert Roberts, it's
some of their music, uh because of the lawsuit that
people are not able to hear.

Speaker 5 (22:02):
Now, let's take a listen to Peppa.

Speaker 22 (22:03):
She also gave a speech as well and chose some
love to her mom, who recently passed away.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
First, I like to.

Speaker 24 (22:08):
Thank God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, because wow, this moment
right here is everything. This journey hip hop has been
very amazing. All the accomplishment, the empowerment to women that
all shaped us as a group today. I knew it

(22:29):
wasn't gonna be easy, so I understood and learned that
to take the good with the band. I want to
honor my mom that just passed away, and she was.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
My strength, my guidance.

Speaker 24 (22:39):
She taught me love, how to persevere, and I just
I want to thank you mom for everything.

Speaker 22 (22:47):
Yeah, and then you also had Spinderella who came up
and spoke as well. And she mentions in her speeches
she is now the first female DJ to be inducted
into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Speaker 5 (22:56):
Let's take a listen.

Speaker 20 (22:57):
I will be celebrating forty years as a DJ next year.
It's crazy because when I started, it was a rare
thing to see a woman behind turntables. It was literally
the boys club. I had to carve my own lane.
I had to show up. It was dedication, it was
my craft, and I never missed a beat. And forty years, y'all,
So tonight, being the first female DJ inducted into the

(23:21):
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it's beyond amazing, y'all.
I carry every female DJ whoever dared to dream, every
woman who touched the turntable and said I can do
that too.

Speaker 5 (23:36):
This is for you.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
This is ours just a bigger role in that group
of salten Pepper. Does you know, it's just like with
Run DMC. You know it's run DMC and their name
is in the group title. But she's just as important
as Salt and Pepper.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
Is absolutely absolutely and I'm glad they were they got
back together because for a time they weren't seeing out
of Ie on things. So the fact that they're back
together and they did this, I love it.

Speaker 8 (24:02):
I love it so much.

Speaker 22 (24:04):
Well, I do want to take some time to play
some of their actual like tribute the performance that they did,
because when they opened it up, we got a surprise
on stage.

Speaker 5 (24:11):
Let's take a listen. Yes, I know they had a good.

Speaker 22 (24:15):
Yes, they were like they performed down like by the
time they did their speechies is sweat like everything they
were performing performing cann't play.

Speaker 5 (24:22):
You heard it in the beginning of the audio.

Speaker 22 (24:24):
So they when they when they the tribute first started
canning players on stage, they do the kidney Play dance
and everybody's in the jackets and you guys know that kid. Yeah,
they did the d for like it was really quick,
but they just opened it up, and you know their
relationship and the designing of the jackets for the pushing
music video for those Yes Yes, Kidn't play Yes, and

(24:45):
the jackets and the push It music video were designed
by Play but they were made at the Dapper Damn
studio up in Harlem.

Speaker 5 (24:53):
So yeah, just a little connection there. And when we
come back.

Speaker 22 (24:57):
He was there, he was playing keyboarding, was also on
stage when they did their speeches as well to helping
them stay together, fixing up their hair and all the things.
And that's the tie between the two as well with
kidding play and Salt and Pepper. But when we come back,
we'll have to get into outcasts because you know, they
had an amazing performance as well, and they were also
giving their flyers and their words that they said while

(25:20):
on stage were just as touching.

Speaker 5 (25:21):
So we'll come back with that in the second hour.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
Could you imagine that, Sears when you're working at that
says you had kidd and play Martin, Martin like, could
you imagine?

Speaker 4 (25:30):
Could you imagine that? What work did they get done?

Speaker 5 (25:34):
It was different during that time, though, I know every
day was a movie at work with them. That's crazy.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
Yeah, all right, well that's the latest with Laura.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
Now when we come back, we got front page news
and then we go open up the phone lines eight
hundred five eight five one five one. I know, if
you're out and about, you've been seeing Christmas trees up already,
the lights up already?

Speaker 4 (25:51):
Is it too soon? Is it too early? We didn't
even get to the Turkey.

Speaker 5 (25:53):
Yet no it goes it. Man, we talk a compliment
for the things to give a holiday, we'll.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
Talk about it. It's the breakfast club. Goo morning morning.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Everybody is dj Envy Jess hilarious, Charlamagine, gud we are
the breakfast club.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Let's get back in some front page news. Thought off
it some quick sports.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Now in football, the coach beat the Falcons, the Jets
beat the Browns, the Patriots beat the buccan Airs, Dolphins
beat the Bills, the Texans beat the Jaguars, the Lions
beat the Commanders, the Rims beat the forty nine and
Seahawks beat the Cardinals. The Bears beat the Giants, the
Ravens beat the Vikings, the Saints beat the Panthers.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
All right, now in Monday night for the Whea, the
Eagles take on the Pack is at eight fifteen.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
And you can't say the Cowboys lost this weekend, you Nope.

Speaker 4 (26:35):
No, they had to buy it so they didn't play.
What's up me me?

Speaker 9 (26:38):
Good morning in being Jeff Charlamagne. How y'all doing? Good morning?

Speaker 10 (26:43):
All right, well we start this hour with an important
update that came down just hours ago, really just before midnight.
So for the second time, a federal appeals court has
ruled that the Trump administration must pay full SNAP benefits
for November, but those payments are still on hold for
now because of an earlier ruling by Supreme Court Justice
Katandre Brown Jackson. So let's break this down a little

(27:05):
bit because it's a little complicated. So this all began
when a district court judge in Rhode Island, Judge John
McConnell JOR, he ordered the Trump administration to fully FUNDSNAP
by Friday's deadline. Now, he made that ruling after the
government failed to deliver those partial payments it had promised
to do. So the administration they appealed Judge McConnell's decision.

(27:27):
They asked a higher court, the First Circuit Court of Appeals,
to stop the payment. Now that court, it rejected the
Trump administration's emergency request to pause the order. So then
the administration appealed. They went even higher to the Supreme Court.
And that's when you get Justice Katanji Brown Jackson, who
handles emergency requests from that region.

Speaker 9 (27:47):
She stepped in.

Speaker 10 (27:49):
So on Friday night, she issued a short administrative stay,
basically a forty eight hour pause, telling the appeals Court
to act fast and make a decision, and that ruling
it came Sunday night, so that brings us to present day.
So late last night, a three judge panel from the
First Circuit Court, they said the administration cannot.

Speaker 9 (28:08):
Block those full payments.

Speaker 10 (28:10):
So in plain terms, the appeals courts they have sided
with families. But that pause from Justice Jackson, it stays
in place until Tuesday night, and that does give the
administration or short window, short window to ask the full
Supreme Court for more time. But if they don't, Congress
has ended. And if they don't and Congress has ended
the shutdown by then, that would mean that the government

(28:31):
will start paying full snap benefits or the government will
start paying full snap benefits after Tuesday night. That makes
sense that you'll stay with me, okay. So, as you
can imagine, it's been a mess of different courts are
saying different things. No one is sure what to do.
So in the middle of all of that, the Trump
administration they told states, so if you were paid, if
states paid out those full benefits, they were told to

(28:53):
take that money back. They said that the USDA they
issued a letter to states basically saying that to undo
those payments, threatening penalties that if they don't. So if
you received full snap benefits, the administration says you were wrong.
You should only receive partial payments, and they want those
full benefits back.

Speaker 9 (29:11):
So we'll see what happens.

Speaker 6 (29:12):
Yes, Republicans' mistaken then try to take it back.

Speaker 10 (29:16):
Yes, yes, So they're saying that they were unauthorized. The
states were unauthorized to give full payments, but so much
litigation was happening in.

Speaker 9 (29:23):
The courts, no one really knew what to do.

Speaker 10 (29:26):
So some states, I know Oregon, said that they're not
going to take it back. If you got full payment,
then you get the full payment. Some states did the
partial payment, so it's still a mess. They're still trying
to figure out what that looks like.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
Republicans want folks to starve. Republicans want folks to be
sick because they won't be able to afford healthcare. So
what do Republicans want American citizens to do?

Speaker 5 (29:45):
That's crazy.

Speaker 10 (29:47):
To want to take that back. And so now to
the chaos in the sky. So travelers across the country
are facing the worst travel meltdown since the start of
the government shut down. Hundreds thousands of passengers have their
flights canceled or delayed on Sunday, marking the single worst
day of air travel disruption since the shutdown began.

Speaker 9 (30:09):
Forty one days ago.

Speaker 10 (30:11):
So the federal government's partial closure, it has created a
severe staffing shortage. We've been talking about that among air
traffic controllers, many of whom have now gone more than
a month without pay. Controllers they are retiring, calling out sick,
leaving fewer people to manage the skies. But to protect safety,
the FAA ordered airlines to cut daily flights forty major

(30:32):
airports and reduce that air traffic by ten percent. Transportation
Secretary Sean Duffy says, a situation that was getting more
dangerous and there have been too many close calls.

Speaker 9 (30:42):
Let's listen.

Speaker 25 (30:43):
We're now looking at the data. We see an increase
in a loss of separation. Airplans are in the sky
becoming too close to each other. They're breaching safety that
safety distance number one. We see ground incursions. We also
see more complaints from pilots that are saying, hey, I'm
getting a lack of responsiveness from the controller, or the

(31:04):
controller seems stressed or they're not using the right language.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
That controllers are supposed to use.

Speaker 25 (31:09):
Those complaints have also increased. So we look at that
in total and say, this is going in the wrong direction.
What tools do I have to deploy to make sure
we can keep the flying public safe. By the way,
those who say this is political, this decision to reduce
capacity by ten percent, it didn't come from me.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
It didn't come from the White House.

Speaker 25 (31:29):
It came from the safety team in the FIA, the
career people who do this every day as part of
their jobs.

Speaker 10 (31:36):
So by Sunday night, airlines have canceled more than twenty
eight hundred flights, delayed, over ten thousand into your point,
Your point, Charlemagne.

Speaker 9 (31:42):
The economic hit.

Speaker 10 (31:44):
They said it could reach hundreds of millions of dollars
each day if this continues.

Speaker 9 (31:48):
But there is some hope.

Speaker 10 (31:49):
We've been talking about Congress the Senate reaching some sort
of deal. If that were to happen, this could all
come to an end. But for now, travelers are being
told to pack their patient.

Speaker 4 (32:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
I told y'all Thursday, you know, when the airline started
getting hit, you know this government shutdown was gonna was
gonna come to an end rather quickly. Because it's always
corporate interests over the interests of the people. And I
did fly this weekend Thursday. When I flew out, the
flight kept getting delayed. Then when we was finally got
on the plane, it was on the runway for an
hour and we was the number nineteen flight to take
off and it was ten flights behind us. And then

(32:21):
when I came back Saturday, and I was supposed to
come back Sunday, but I came back Saturday because I
didn't even want to risk it. And when I came
back early Saturday morning, they said they had to fly
slow coming back into New York because we were supposed
to land like.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
In an hour and ten minutes.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
They're like, we gotta fly slow because I guess the
lack of air traffic controllers and there was too many.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
People coming in. I don't know what it was, but
they said they had to fly slow.

Speaker 8 (32:40):
Like what.

Speaker 4 (32:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
When I went, I had to go by Newark Airport
and they it with the amount of planes on the runway,
it was like it was like fifty fifty five to
sixty planes just sitting there waiting to take off. It's
it's ridiculous. But what language would they use it? Because
they said they weren't using your typical language.

Speaker 4 (32:55):
So what would they do is doing like sucking the town?

Speaker 17 (32:58):
Nah?

Speaker 2 (32:59):
Nah, you can't land right now, go go back up?
Like what language would they not use?

Speaker 8 (33:02):
And I'm just curious.

Speaker 10 (33:03):
I know he did say that, right, I don't know
what the pilots, what the air traffic controllers were saying
to the pilots when he says typical language, Maybe they
were just you know, like you said, just talking like
I don't know what you should do.

Speaker 11 (33:14):
Right.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
I saw one of the TSA workers throw one of
the plastic bins made through it and then the person
he worked with was have said something to him.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
He was like, I don't care. We're not getting paid.

Speaker 4 (33:23):
No way, It's true.

Speaker 5 (33:24):
Yes, that's crazy. And then my mother in law was
saying the perspective that I haven't even looked at yet.

Speaker 4 (33:29):
Over the weekend.

Speaker 6 (33:30):
She was like, yo, I remember, like a lot of
people wanted to work for the government just to ensure
job security. And then now, look, you know what I'm saying.
They make it hard to get in the government. But
at one point almost everybody wanted to work for the government,
you know, just to have that job the benefits and
everything that comes with it, and then now, look, yos,

(33:50):
that's crazy.

Speaker 10 (33:51):
Yep, absolutely all right, y'all. Well, that is your front
page news I Mimi Brown. Follow me at Mimi Brown

Speaker 5 (34:05):
Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 2 (34:07):
Now when we come back, let's open up the phone lines.
Eight hundred five eight five one oh five to one.
If you've been traveling, if you're out and about, if
you've been driving. People are ready for Christmas already, trees up,
lights up, ready, the holiday season is here.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
I don't have this is too soon.

Speaker 4 (34:21):
We ain't even cut the turkey man.

Speaker 6 (34:23):
The cities are doing their thing, the cities like Baltimore City,
I seen Chicago. I say, it's like a lot of
different cities even decorated their downtown already.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
Yeah, so let's discuss it's a too soon. Eight hundred
five eight five one oh five one. They already played
Mariah caram Rian Carra has already been placed. You was
played about a week ago. So that is the question.
Let's discuss. It's the breakfast club.

Speaker 13 (34:42):
Good morning, the breakfast Club.

Speaker 8 (34:51):
It's topic time.

Speaker 26 (34:54):
Call eight hundred five eight five one five one to
join in to the discussion with the Breakfast.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
Club Morning everybody at tech Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne the guy.
We are the breakfast Club. Nowhew just joining us with
opening up the phone lines eight hundred five eighty five,
one oh five to one. Now it seems like the
holiday season Christmas is here, like lights, Christmas trees, decorations.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
It seems like we just forgot about Thanksgiving.

Speaker 3 (35:20):
Is it too soon?

Speaker 4 (35:21):
Is the question?

Speaker 5 (35:23):
What are the decorations for Thanksgiving?

Speaker 3 (35:26):
Exactly?

Speaker 4 (35:27):
Turkeys?

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Man?

Speaker 6 (35:28):
Shut up, Like you're just gonna have a bunch of
turkeys around your own turkey decorations.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
And I guess they got pumpkins and mums and stuff
like that, But.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
You don't need that for twenty five days, okay, Like
Christmas is the season, you know, don't nothing look better
than Christmas lights and the Christmas trees.

Speaker 3 (35:44):
Thanksgiving is really just.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
A speed bummer at this point, Like there's really nothing
to do in November.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
It's crazy, like when you think.

Speaker 1 (35:52):
About November, there's really nothing to do. Thanksgiving is one day,
just like Halloween is one day. So the same way
they got all of these, you know, decorations leading up
the Halloween.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
Might as well have thods for Christmas.

Speaker 7 (36:04):
Now.

Speaker 4 (36:05):
I ain't gonna lie. I got my lights in the house, right,
and they make me happy.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
That's what I'm gonna say. It just makes me happy
when I come home and the lights is lit. I
just get happy.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
I ain't gonna front.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
I stay outside and look at them. The kids love them.
It just makes me happy. That holiday chair.

Speaker 4 (36:19):
It just takes me an express any anxiety. Way, I
just get happy.

Speaker 5 (36:24):
Listen, I leave my Christmas tree up all year round.

Speaker 4 (36:26):
That's a little too far. That's a little too much.

Speaker 6 (36:29):
I usually put four of them up, but I took
three of them down and just left one up.

Speaker 5 (36:33):
So that's one last one I gotta put up.

Speaker 6 (36:34):
But yo, like I think the day after Halloween, literally
midnight November first, put that head shut.

Speaker 8 (36:42):
Wait a minute.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
So fourth of July, everybody's coming and it's hot, and
they come in.

Speaker 4 (36:46):
To your pool pot. You still got your Christmas year.
I did.

Speaker 6 (36:48):
That's why they need to stay out my house. The
pool party is outside, damn.

Speaker 5 (36:51):
Because your black family always want to judge you for
stuff like that. Your Christmas tree still up? Yeah, yeah,
and you still broke.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
You know.

Speaker 6 (36:57):
I'm just this little things that I go back and
forth with. But yeah, people always joke about that, But
that's a lot of work putting up a lot of Thanksgiving,
I mean, putting up a lot of Christmas decorations. And
when I moving to this big ass house, I didn't
really realize like how hard for cheese would be putting up.
But it looks so good when everything's done.

Speaker 1 (37:16):
And that's the crazy part too. You put up all
of these Christmas decorations only for a couple of weeks. No,
let's ride it out for sixty days, start in November,
right after Halloween. Let's let's get right into the Christmas season.
You ain't gonna have it at fourth of July. No,
But I'm gonna be honest with you. We can kind
of get rid of Thanksgiving, bro, But we don't need it.
What we don't really need things giving the food don't really.
The food ain't really what's up a lot of us.

(37:38):
You know, as we've gotten old that we don't even
like things giving food. I don't like things giving food
like that.

Speaker 5 (37:42):
I don't want to.

Speaker 4 (37:42):
See what staks giving food to you. I don't eat
the turkey. You know that, that's my point. You gave
it all.

Speaker 5 (37:47):
Yeah, no, I ain't hold you.

Speaker 6 (37:48):
I do like the dark meat of the turkey, but
really for real, Yeah, now that you're saying it, it's like,
all right, cool because I don't like stuff and I
don't like the cranberry with the turkey.

Speaker 5 (37:56):
That's white people's stuff. I don't really like that. I
don't like pumpkin pie.

Speaker 7 (37:59):
I love.

Speaker 5 (37:59):
Only thing I love is mash. I mean not.

Speaker 6 (38:01):
The mac and cheese, yams, fried chicken. Yeah, and the
sweep and say the pie.

Speaker 24 (38:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (38:08):
So we only get the food that we like, so
we don't do all the turkey stuff.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
So we do the mac cheese, we do the fried chicken,
but then we do ox their we do jerk chicken.

Speaker 4 (38:14):
We do stuff like that too.

Speaker 5 (38:15):
Yeah that sounds good. Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 6 (38:17):
Then my mother does a seafood Christmas. She do the
crabs and the scallops and like she she's very big.

Speaker 5 (38:22):
On seafood, so she does that.

Speaker 4 (38:23):
But I don't know.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
We don't need to give it.

Speaker 1 (38:27):
We need time off though, yeah, but we don't need
we don't need things giving. It could be a dead gratitude,
but we don't need things giving.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
Yeah, let's go to the phone line. We got Leon
on the phone. Leon, what's up?

Speaker 27 (38:36):
Bro?

Speaker 5 (38:36):
Try and get rid of what's going on?

Speaker 15 (38:38):
Brothers.

Speaker 28 (38:38):
Good morning, good more than envy, Charlo made peace Lauren
in the building.

Speaker 5 (38:44):
No, you said good morning, brothers and then named Garry Biden,

Speaker 28 (38:58):
For the Christmas thing, I feel like the Christmas tree,
the lights small, but like thank given because you're hosting
the Thanksgiving party, so you gotta have a life and
everything for the party that you have celebrations. So I
feel like before that it might be it might be
a little bit early, but it's a different time where
everything moves a little bit fast, you know what I'm saying.

(39:21):
But I feel like Thanksgiving day to day everything should
be ready, like the lights, the trees and all that.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
I feel you le want you what you think about
somebody who leaves their Christmas tree up like the whole year,
Like fourth of July they got a Christmas tree up,
Easter they got a Christmas tree up.

Speaker 7 (39:36):
That's just being lazy, bro.

Speaker 15 (39:39):
You like, what's Christmas?

Speaker 28 (39:42):
What's Christmas is over? Like take the tree down, put
everything up, pack it up, put it back in the garage,
and wait for the next year.

Speaker 4 (39:48):
Yes, Jess, I thank you, brother.

Speaker 5 (39:50):

Speaker 29 (40:23):

Speaker 18 (40:24):
I gotta do one headache at a time, you know
what I'm saying.

Speaker 15 (40:28):
So after Thanksgiving and go then we bring out the

Speaker 5 (40:38):

Speaker 3 (40:49):
I'll be overwhelmed thanks Giving.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
Thanks Giving don't need a prep monff. Thanksgiving need like

Speaker 4 (40:55):

Speaker 14 (41:00):

Speaker 30 (41:03):
And making sure the fool gets together.

Speaker 4 (41:05):

Speaker 18 (41:06):
You know, you got the fame, you got the family
members that be layed. You know that's what you tell them.
They're the ones I got to bring the dessert because

Speaker 17 (42:49):
Yes, I've been ready to put my tree up after
my birthday in October.

Speaker 15 (42:53):
The mad I too, he made I call her. Okay, yes,
And like the government sat down through and and does
not benefits.

Speaker 17 (43:01):
I just feel like we just need that causitive spirit
for Christmas, you know, the spirit you know, Chris and stuff.

Speaker 1 (43:07):
That's right and and and the other reason that it's
okay to put your Christmas stuff up right after Halloween
is for a simple fact, there really is no Thanksgiving decorations.
So Halloween everybody, Yeah, everybody goes all out for Halloween.
You see the houses decked out for Halloween. Thanksgiving is
no Thanksgiving decorations. We might as well put the Christmas up.

Speaker 4 (43:23):
Well, Thanksgiving us pumpkins they do, the moms, they do
stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (43:27):
You know what them is.

Speaker 4 (43:28):
I know I'm thinking you talking about time, Halloween, the flowers.

Speaker 15 (43:32):
I even put like fall stuff up and like my
fall candles and everything.

Speaker 27 (43:35):
But I'm gonna sif that and go straight for Christmas stuff.
I'm already looking at colors and everything.

Speaker 4 (43:39):
So this weekend I'm gonna do put up my Christmas
stuff with yes man.

Speaker 29 (43:44):
You know I'm exciting.

Speaker 15 (43:45):
For the past couple of weeks.

Speaker 5 (43:46):
I've been calling you.

Speaker 30 (43:47):
Said, reclose the song.

Speaker 5 (43:48):
I mean, with that song no answer?

Speaker 27 (43:51):
You know the other man that srid about that, saying
man die about their answer?

Speaker 4 (43:54):
The father.

Speaker 5 (43:56):
Got there and the jingle bar.

Speaker 24 (43:58):
I've been calling about the dingle bar us in Atlanta,
and I haven't hard nothing about nobody winning on the
dingle ball tickets.

Speaker 4 (44:05):
I don't give we did the first the first week,
we had some jingle Ball.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
What are you calling from? I'm calling okay?

Speaker 17 (44:13):
And then and then I think I'm steady because every
since boys Man, and no addition about the Salt, I've
been playing let It Snow.

Speaker 5 (44:20):
And then that's the best album, best Christmas album? Main't
it where?

Speaker 27 (44:26):
Yes, I've been playing that all weekend, and then all
of a sudden.

Speaker 5 (44:29):
God, okay, damn, that's what's up. Actually, I love Snow.

Speaker 4 (44:36):
I wish I had some tickets for you. I don't
have tickets jingle Boy.

Speaker 2 (44:41):
If you want to see Little John, if you want
to see Jermaine Duprie, if you want to see Nelly
and the host of others, get your tickets. We're gonna
be out there for Atlanta's jingle Boy. She would be
a lot of fun.

Speaker 29 (44:49):
Yeah, I'm going.

Speaker 4 (44:50):
We'll see you there.

Speaker 5 (44:51):
Y'all haven't to day all.

Speaker 1 (44:53):
Right, Everybody who listens to us on ninety six one,
the beating Atlanta, y'all jingle balls so popping.

Speaker 3 (44:57):
People from Michigan want to go.

Speaker 4 (44:58):
That's right, right, Hello, you.

Speaker 6 (45:02):
Know what I'm saying, y'all need to get down to
that Boys and Me and Christmas album. That man, that's
a no skip play that. Get jiggy with your wife?

Speaker 4 (45:08):
Did jiggy with your worf? Hello?

Speaker 19 (45:09):
Who's this Hello?

Speaker 21 (45:11):
Can you hear me?

Speaker 4 (45:11):
I can hear you.

Speaker 8 (45:12):
This is Monica.

Speaker 27 (45:13):
Oh my god, don't say my name.

Speaker 4 (45:16):
I'm sorry, Mama, Hey, hi Charlotte please.

Speaker 27 (45:26):
Okay, So here's my thoughts all ready, all right, So yes,
let's skip right over Thanksgiving because I feel like them
people that want of the late Christmas is the pumpkins
fie people, and the pumpkins fi people is the people
that can't figure out whether or not they want to
open up the government or not. So no, no, no,
you're gonna skip right over that. Don't wanna go to

(45:47):
the States of Christmas and you can enjoy your pumpkins fights.
But I take next year, when the government is open
and doing what it's supposed to do and give these
people they snap.

Speaker 3 (45:54):
In the bid and they tell care respect.

Speaker 4 (45:58):
Thank you so much, Monica.

Speaker 3 (45:59):
I'm man, Thanksgiving is a I don't need it.

Speaker 5 (46:03):
I love pumpkin spice people. That's that's different.

Speaker 4 (46:05):
Shot out. Hello, he Shane, good morning, Oh money, Yeah,
where do you call it from?

Speaker 5 (46:13):
Little Kentucky, little Turkey. I beat the twenty twenty six,
make some Louise Joe with them.

Speaker 2 (46:21):
Talk to a shall what you think about all these
Christmas decorations and ornaments and things up so early?

Speaker 29 (46:26):
Maybe I'm tired it is too early. I'm a Halloween girly,
so I was already upset they had all the Christmas
stuff out. There were our times before we even have
Michaelson then pop out.

Speaker 3 (46:37):
Damn Yeah, you can't do it before Halloween. I mean
is that the reason you come?

Speaker 1 (46:41):
Yeah, Halloween got his own decorations and got his own energy.
People like decorating their houses for Halloween. You can't do that,
But Thanksgiving we can stick skip right over that because
they know Turkey decorations.

Speaker 29 (46:51):
I mean, like you cut the turkey fights before we sorry,
you know, shoving Maria carrying everybody else down to do
all love them Maria way, I can hard for a
whole month.

Speaker 3 (47:04):
I agree with that.

Speaker 1 (47:05):
I think that November should be like a pre Christmas thing,
like we shouldn't go all in yet, but it should
be a lot of signs.

Speaker 5 (47:12):
Yeah that give it should be the advertiser and Christmas
is the main.

Speaker 29 (47:18):
Christmas.

Speaker 1 (47:20):
It should be a pre Christmas and then right after Thanksgiving,
that's when everybody goes full steam ahead with Christmas.

Speaker 3 (47:26):
But before that it's pre Christmas.

Speaker 4 (47:28):
Yeah, I'm with you. I don't really care about Thanksgiving.
I try to tell you, I.

Speaker 6 (47:33):
Don't agree with getting rid of it, but yeah, we
could definitely change it from things giving to pre Christmas.

Speaker 16 (47:37):
I like that.

Speaker 5 (47:38):
Tell what about down south?

Speaker 20 (47:40):
Like?

Speaker 6 (47:40):
What about SOUTHNK? Going to South Carolina? Don't your family,
like your momm and your dad like they don't know give.

Speaker 1 (47:47):
They still, Yes, it's just cool. It's the day of family.
It's the day you know, getting with your peoples and
kicking it.

Speaker 3 (47:54):
But nah, you don't anything.

Speaker 1 (47:57):
Yeah, I actually look forward to the day after they're
given because my aunt cooks the day after they're giving
because she's Jeovah witness as well. But she does what
your mom does, the seafood, the fried fish and fried
shrimp and you know, scallops and all.

Speaker 3 (48:09):
Yes, that's what I like.

Speaker 4 (48:10):
You don't get your mom no Christmas gifts, nothing for Christmas.

Speaker 3 (48:12):
She's a Jehovah witness, respect her religion, yeah.

Speaker 5 (48:14):
But they don't accept that.

Speaker 3 (48:15):
That's crazy. Don't accept it.

Speaker 5 (48:17):
And you're probably only celebrated now because you have children.

Speaker 1 (48:19):
Yep, and my wife is not a Joho witness at
your family, no gifts or family, but your side are
the witness.

Speaker 3 (48:27):
Yeah, yo, that's cruel.

Speaker 5 (48:28):
All of them don't except nothing. They don't get him,
not neither, Nope, not at all, don't ever care.

Speaker 4 (48:34):
All right, Well, what's the more of the story.

Speaker 11 (48:37):
What you what? Do?

Speaker 5 (48:40):
What you want you?

Speaker 6 (48:41):
If you want to put up your decorations the day
after Halloween, the day before whatever, if you want to
put it up on Christmas Eve.

Speaker 5 (48:48):
Do it whatever works for you.

Speaker 6 (48:49):
I leave my tree up all year around, at least
one of them, and don't say nothing about it because
lazy ass.

Speaker 4 (48:55):
All right, when we come back, he got the ladies
with Lawrence. They don't move. It's the breakfast Club, Good morning.

Speaker 5 (49:00):
I want to becoming a straight fast.

Speaker 4 (49:03):
She gets some somebody that knows somebody detail.

Speaker 5 (49:06):
I'm a long girl that knows a little bit about everything.

Speaker 3 (49:09):
She'd be having the latest on the.

Speaker 8 (49:12):
Last, the latest with Lauren la Rosa.

Speaker 3 (49:14):
Sometimes you have fact, sometimes you have details, sometimes you
have a little bit everything.

Speaker 8 (49:17):
So it's the latest on the Breakfast Club.

Speaker 22 (49:22):
Alrighty Y'allso going back to the twenty twenty five rock
and Roll Hall of Fame inductions. Outcasts were also inducted
into the Rock and Roll Hall.

Speaker 3 (49:31):
Of Fame, the greatest hip hop group of all time.

Speaker 5 (49:33):
Yes and Now.

Speaker 22 (49:34):
Their induction tribute started with a conversation or a speech
from Donald Glover.

Speaker 5 (49:40):
Let's take a listen.

Speaker 4 (49:41):
Tonight we celebrate truly one of one.

Speaker 21 (49:44):
In a statement of music, two young men from Atlanta
debuted with the album Southern Playlist The Cadillac Music in
nineteen ninety four. I remember watching the Source Awards in
the fourth grade, and I think people forget how scary
it was to be brave.

Speaker 4 (50:00):
Even at that time, tensions.

Speaker 21 (50:01):
Were already high with the East Coast West Coast rivalry.
And to stand on stage and say the South got
something to say while being booed taught me how to
deal with critics.

Speaker 3 (50:13):
You don't have to scream, you don't have to yell.
You just have to be undeniable.

Speaker 21 (50:19):
Thank you for showing me that brothers may not always
see eye to eye in their philosophies or styles, but
they need each other in a world that would rather
see them both fail. Atlanta is not the music mecca
it has become. Without you, there is no childish Gambino
without you, there is no South without you. So tonights
honor two visionaries who turn their differences into a dynasty.

Speaker 3 (50:39):
All factual, great speech.

Speaker 22 (50:41):
Yes and then outcasts both members A Big Boy and
Andrew Jie thousand were there and spoke for themselves as well,
just about the night and the analyistic.

Speaker 5 (50:49):
Listen to Big Boy, I.

Speaker 31 (50:50):
Think the most high You're sure for having us out
here tonight and for me, me and my brother Forday
what for sure?

Speaker 4 (50:57):
The whole Savannah Georgia.

Speaker 31 (50:58):
Y'all stand up too, man, the Rock and Hole Hall
of Fame, Gray Street.

Speaker 8 (51:02):
We love all y'all.

Speaker 31 (51:03):
And I want to say specially to my brother right here, man,
thank you for making me be the best I can
be man and going total total records of.

Speaker 8 (51:10):
The iron sharping iron, just to be the best.

Speaker 21 (51:12):
Man.

Speaker 5 (51:12):
Ain't nothing but.

Speaker 8 (51:13):
Pressure, love man, love me.

Speaker 5 (51:18):
And then Andre Thie thousands spoke for the group as well.

Speaker 32 (51:22):
Thank y'all for putting us in in great company. When
I heard that we were being inducted, I was like, man,
this is great because we're in the same company with
a lot of people. We grew up with a whole
lineage of people. A lot of times when bands or
individuals get up here and it's about the musicians, and
we talk about the music a lot, but a lot
of times it's a lot more than just the notes
or the instruments that you're playing. This everybody that's around you,

(51:44):
it's the family.

Speaker 3 (51:46):
And this is my family.

Speaker 4 (51:50):
So right right out of high school, me.

Speaker 32 (51:52):
Big Boy and see up with the youngest people in
the dungeon. And we're just so happy that Rico Wade
saw something and us. He gave us an opportunity to
come and all the sacrifices that were made around us
to help us get to this place. But one thing,
one thing that Jack said, man Jacket, he's one of
my favorites.

Speaker 3 (52:07):
Man, We love you man.

Speaker 32 (52:09):
But on one thing that he said, he said some
about ut little rooms. And we started in a little
and little rooms. Great things start in little rooms.

Speaker 11 (52:21):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (52:23):
Yes. And they also had an amazing induction like tribute.

Speaker 29 (52:28):
Uh.

Speaker 22 (52:28):
So there was very various performances. We have some audio.
It started with at Aliens performed by Big Boy. Big
Boy performed twice. Actually in let's listen.

Speaker 8 (52:37):
To us, like I was, I suck up, it's not
you're about to see this.

Speaker 3 (52:42):
The snout.

Speaker 8 (52:44):
Then I heard the snound would you pay.

Speaker 4 (52:47):
Like your goals the things?

Speaker 3 (52:49):
But I'm not working when we step up in the party,
like about your ship.

Speaker 4 (52:56):
See he's trying to be like doing.

Speaker 3 (53:00):
I'm trying not to switch some as social count but
you want to get one.

Speaker 4 (53:06):
And then they go want to know what had been.

Speaker 3 (53:21):
Top of my mouth?

Speaker 8 (53:22):
You don't not get.

Speaker 12 (53:30):
Jackson, I as.

Speaker 4 (53:34):
The get daughter.

Speaker 5 (53:42):
Overlive it.

Speaker 4 (53:45):
Can meet queens and things together, quits sweep.

Speaker 3 (53:50):
I do what Johndre two thousand would have performed though?

Speaker 4 (53:52):
Did he said why I didn't eat him perform with
I did want to He's mysterious.

Speaker 7 (53:56):
Well.

Speaker 5 (53:56):
I tried to ask that question because I saw he
also too.

Speaker 22 (53:59):
He didn't join the tribute at one music festival either,
and I asked if it was because you know, he
said he's done with rapping and things of that nature.

Speaker 5 (54:06):
I didn't get answer to that question. But who was
doing Who did that? Because that was his part but
he didn't do it. Who did that?

Speaker 22 (54:13):
I'm not for sure exactly whose voice because you had
the DJ in the background and also the.

Speaker 5 (54:19):
Money was they did perform.

Speaker 22 (54:21):
That was Dojah Cat who performed as well too, and
it was noticeable that Doja Cat kind of forgot some
of the words throughout the.

Speaker 5 (54:26):
Porm for sure. Yeah, And I did ask too, like
who chose.

Speaker 22 (54:30):
Like who for each performance, both Salt and Pebblic and
for outcast as well too, And I was told that
it was a collaboration between the groups and the production.
I asked that because like you could tell and Doja
Cat's performance and she's great that she was trying, but
it is a she's.

Speaker 5 (54:44):
A performer, like she's one that I thought with like kidding,
it wasn't.

Speaker 22 (54:49):
It wasn't the best part of the tribute, but Tyler
the creator killed it. Jid was great as well too,
and it was I mean, it's always good to see
big Boy on stage.

Speaker 1 (54:59):
He should have before every song, but hey y'all, because
I know he's tired of performing. Hey ya, but everything
else he should, you think so?

Speaker 4 (55:05):
I wish you did all.

Speaker 5 (55:06):
I think so too. I think it would have been
like an amazing like this was great though there, Yeah,
he was there.

Speaker 22 (55:13):
They tried to call him up on stage when Andre
three thousand was speaking. They tried to like call him
up on stage, but he didn't come up on stage,
but he had mentioned him as well too, and.

Speaker 3 (55:20):
His speech it was great though. I mean, the reality
is we should just be happy Andre was there.

Speaker 2 (55:25):
Yes, That's why you gotta really love and respect these
groups when you have him, because you never know when
they're gonna perform again, like like we would love to
see Andre three thousand again, and he's he's like, I'm
not doing it, and you got respected, but I would
love to see him on stage again, like legendary groups
like Run DMC and jam Master J. They not performing
anymore or you know, members that passed away, so it's
respect and still.

Speaker 5 (55:47):
Look good too, like hey man, get that still pressed
three K?

Speaker 4 (55:51):
What's up y'all?

Speaker 5 (55:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 22 (55:52):
And I was gonna say that Ericabadu wasn't there, but
she did share something like words on her Instagram as
well too, But we're I so just wanted to mention
that though, that she did send some love her Instagram.

Speaker 5 (56:03):
You know she's been on her own touring performances.

Speaker 6 (56:05):
All right, all that, and you know it's a legendary day.
We got some big comedy legends and some just legends
birthdays to day, heavy birthday and a.

Speaker 4 (56:13):
Big pun.

Speaker 2 (56:17):
And yes, sir, wow, I love it, love it, love it,
love it. All right, that's the latest with Lauren. Now
donkey today, we give.

Speaker 1 (56:25):
That donkey two oh man, we need Roland Martin to
come to the front of the congregation this morning.

Speaker 3 (56:29):
We'd like to have a word with him.

Speaker 2 (56:30):
Okay, all right, we'll get to that next week. Can
we get a little outcast before a donkey?

Speaker 4 (56:33):
Alright, we'll do that. It's the breakfast love for damn heg.

Speaker 3 (56:41):
It's time the donkey they I mean trying to beat
donkey today.

Speaker 20 (56:45):
No more.

Speaker 1 (56:46):
They should be embarrassed by what they already did. I'm
not making these people do these.

Speaker 5 (56:49):
Days called Donkey of the day, and it really caught
me off guard.

Speaker 6 (56:53):
Damn Charlamagne, who got the donkey out of the day today?

Speaker 1 (56:57):
Well, just hilarious. Donkey of Today for Monday, November tenth
goes to Roland S.

Speaker 3 (57:02):
Martin.

Speaker 1 (57:02):
Y'all know Roland Martin a left wing political commentator, founder
of the black Star Network. He hosts his show Roland
Martin Unfiltered on YouTube. Oh and let's not forget he
is a Democrat dancing machine. Oh, Roland will cut a
rug for the Democrats, you hear me? Okay, he loves
dancing for Democrats. So much that he won't even go
to the right when the Tucsie role is playing. Okay,
it's all to the left, to the left for Roland,

(57:24):
and that's fine, okay, respect to him and his political
allegiance with Democrats. So it wasn't a surprise to me
that Roland had an opinion on my opinion of this
current government shutdown because I feel like Democrats, even though
they put up a great fight, it was a valiant
effort in regard to healthcare, it was a fight they
couldn't win. Right now, Okay, keyword, right now? So open
the government back up because people are out here suffering.

(57:46):
Roland didn't like that, Okay. He posted this video with
the headline beyond idiotic Roland tears down Charlemagne's shut down. Misinformation.
That's the word that got my attention. Misinformation. What did
I say that was misinformation? Well, let's listen to.

Speaker 3 (58:00):
Roland Martin, do me a favorite.

Speaker 8 (58:02):
Do not listen to people like Charlemagne and God.

Speaker 16 (58:04):
Okay, So Charlemagne was talking about this government shut down
and he made a comment as relate to what Democrats
should be doing.

Speaker 4 (58:15):
Y'all have that?

Speaker 1 (58:16):
So what I don't understand, meme and I don't know,
maybe you can explain it to me that the healthcare
is going to go up anyway because of the big
beautiful bill, because that didn't include the extension of the
tax credits to keep the cast down. So if it's
going up anyway, what's the point of Democrats taking the
stand to keep the government still close?

Speaker 10 (58:33):
At this point, you're right because the premiums which the
open enrollment started, what last this weekend November one, and
so people are getting those those letters in the mail.
In fact, one person in Utah, a woman in Utah,
she told ABC News that she opened her bill and
saw that her monthly premium had already jumped from about
four hundred dollars a month Charlemagne to over two thousand

(58:54):
dollars a month. And so at this point, it's like,
what's going to happen? Is it retroactive?

Speaker 9 (59:00):
How is this going to work as you continue to
go forward?

Speaker 3 (59:03):
So you're absolutely right, and the premiums are set for
a year.

Speaker 1 (59:05):
So at this point, if the premiums have already gone up,
if they set for a year, at least give the
people some relief and get the government back open.

Speaker 4 (59:12):
Do not listen to what the hell he just said.

Speaker 16 (59:16):
That to me is beyond idiotic, because this battle that
we're seeing is not solely about HEALTHCAREA Rebecca, I don't
know what the hell that was.

Speaker 3 (59:31):
That was just Roland.

Speaker 4 (59:33):
What makes what I said?

Speaker 3 (59:34):
Bs?

Speaker 1 (59:34):
I said the healthcare is gonna go up anyway because
of the Big Beautiful Bill, because that didn't include the
extension of the tax credits to keep the cost down.

Speaker 3 (59:41):
That's fact based, okay.

Speaker 1 (59:42):
Me Me pointed out that some people were already receiving
higher premium since the beginning of the open enrollment period,
people have been receiving notices of higher premium.

Speaker 3 (59:50):
So where was the misinformation? Roland? You may not agree
that dim.

Speaker 1 (59:54):
Should concede and vote for the government to be reopened,
but don't say it's misinformation.

Speaker 3 (59:58):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (59:59):
Maybe I gave to shortened explanation. Maybe I'll oversimplified it.
Maybe I should be clearer for the audience, and I
will right now. When the Big Beautiful Bill, or as
Reverend Barbara calls it, the Big Deadly Bill, or as
Jasmine Crockett calls it, the Big Ugly Bill, when that
bipartisan spending package Republicans forced through, when that was passed
Democrats failed to extend the ACA premiums of subsidies that
were originally expanded under the American Rescue Plan and inflation

(01:00:22):
reduction at Okay, without those tax credits, ACARE Obamacare premiums
increase automatically, and they're already locked in for twenty twenty
five since insurance file and finalized their rates months a Hey,
So if healthcare premiums have already gone up and I'll
fix for the year, then keeping the government closed the
fight for lower premiums makes no sense to me, especially
when on top of high health care prices. So many

(01:00:44):
people are suffering right now because of the government shut down.

Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
And that's what I care about, the people.

Speaker 1 (01:00:50):
Okay, that's why I said what I said, because of
the people who are being hurt by.

Speaker 3 (01:00:53):
The federal workers who haven't been paid in forty days.

Speaker 4 (01:00:56):
They passed due on.

Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
Rent right now, can't pay for childcare right now. Hell,
they can't pay for the health insurance they do have
because they don't have any money coming in, not to
mention people not getting a snap benefits.

Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
So how was what I said?

Speaker 8 (01:01:09):
Some bs?

Speaker 1 (01:01:10):
How was that misinformation? Once again, Roland, if you would
have said I disagree with Charlamagne. Democrats should fight and
not both to reopen the government until some concessions are
made on healthcare. Cool, I would understand that it's fair.
What to say is some bs and label it as misinformation.

Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
That's just a lie.

Speaker 1 (01:01:25):
And you did that on purpose. That was intentional to
discredit me in the breakfast club. But we'll get back
to that. He even had a system by the name
of Rebecca Carruthers come in and double down on the
lie that we spread misinformation and accuse me of all
types of treachery.

Speaker 3 (01:01:38):
Let's listen.

Speaker 33 (01:01:39):
Look what I heard was an exchange of two people
who don't understand how this works. So what they're talking
about are the health insurance premiums that are in the marketplace.
The marketplaces are the state exchanges. The state exchanges is
because of Obamacare aka the Affordable Care Act. Here's the thing.
Those premiums are effective January one. You get about sixty

(01:02:02):
days notice in most states. Some states put out their
new expected premiums back in October, some kind of at
the end of September. But this is giving notice of hey,
if you continue at the level of health insurance plan
that you have, this is what you're going to start
to pay effective January one, and so they're erroneous. I mean,
this isn't just misinformation here. This starts to like, this

(01:02:24):
is intentional disinformation, and for the audience, disinformation is where
you have bad, misleading information that's intentionally targeted to a
certain demographic. The demographic here is black voters. The reason
why is the black voters are the base of the
Democratic Party. Right now, the Democrats are in our locksteps
saying that no, we're not going to give you the
votes that you need in order to end this government

(01:02:46):
shut down. You Republicans need to.

Speaker 4 (01:02:47):
Come to us and work out or deal.

Speaker 12 (01:02:49):
And so by trying to.

Speaker 33 (01:02:51):
Talk to black folks, so then black folks can then
talk to Democratic members of the House and Democratic members
of the Senate to get Democrats to back down. That's
what CHARLOA.

Speaker 5 (01:03:01):
Maine is trying to do here.

Speaker 33 (01:03:02):
So this is disinformation that we're seeing that charlom Maaine
is doing. This is not just mistaken information. This is
intentional going after black voters.

Speaker 1 (01:03:11):
Rebecca, I don't even know what you are trying to imply. Okay,
you repeated what myself and Mimi just said. You just
didn't over simplify it like I did, But I still
don't understand how that leads into you saying I'm intentionally
giving out misinformation to black voters.

Speaker 3 (01:03:23):
What is the misinformation.

Speaker 1 (01:03:25):
I'm also not trying to discourage anyone from voting in midterms,
even though I know we are gonna have to fight
to have free and fair elections in the midterms. But
that's a whole other conversation. But you, Rebecca, sound like
you are trying to make me out to be controlled opposition.
Let the record show I don't get paid by any
political party. I've never taken money from a political candidate
for anything. Conroll and Martin say the same again. What

(01:03:46):
did I say that was misinformation? Okay, everything I said
is actual and factual in regards to what's in the
Big Beautiful Bill. If you disagree with me saying Democrats
should vote to reopen the government once again, that is fair.
If you believe me saying I think Democrats have lost
is wrong. I understand that too, but that's my opinion,
not misinformation. You want to know why I think Democrats
have already lost, I'll tell you my position. One, because

(01:04:07):
the Trump administration practices authoritarian strategy, and they don't give
a damn about working class people, and they damn show
don't care about the poor. Number two Republicans are scared
the death of that administration, and they have zero reason
to make any concessions. They already have everything they want
in the big deadly bill. Okay, massive tax cut, state
ACA subsidy extensions didn't make it in, deep cuts to

(01:04:29):
Medicaid and social programs already in there.

Speaker 4 (01:04:31):
They have zero reason to play ball.

Speaker 1 (01:04:33):
Roland knows this, but he would rather sell y'all false
hope instead of telling you the truth. Roland knows most
of these Republicans have made careers running against Obamacare.

Speaker 3 (01:04:42):
They can't go back now, even if it kills them
in the midterms.

Speaker 1 (01:04:45):
And a lot of people I've spoken to in government Democrats,
by the way, feel like that's why pinning a shut
down strategy around this issue was foolish to begin with. Okay,
And a lot of them told me they knew they
weren't going to get anything out of this except maybe
the promise of a vote on the Senate floor that
will ultimately fail. That's why I said last week, Democrats loss. Okay,

(01:05:06):
As you can see that seems to be the case
because they reached a tentative agreement yesterday that does not
include an extension of the ACA subsidies. And you know
who will be one of the first people out here
fake dragon Democrats for YouTube views because of that, Roland Martin,
even though he knew that was going to be the
obvious political outcome from the beginning.

Speaker 3 (01:05:24):
Now, listen, if DIM's.

Speaker 1 (01:05:25):
Were able to get these authoritarian strategy ass practicing Republicans
to make some concessions on healthcare, I would be the
first person on this radio saying I was wrong and
applauding them. But I never saw it happening. That's why
I said I think they lost. I'm sorry that y'all
believe in MAGI more than I do.

Speaker 3 (01:05:40):
Okay, but I.

Speaker 1 (01:05:41):
Applaud Democrats, okay, dropping the clues bump of Democrats for
doing something they don't normally do.

Speaker 3 (01:05:46):
And that's fighting.

Speaker 1 (01:05:47):
They threw a hell Mary on behalf of the American
people because they know the American people are about to
get their asses kicked when it comes to these high
ass health insurance premiums courtesy.

Speaker 3 (01:05:57):
Of the Republicans.

Speaker 1 (01:05:58):
I would have loved for Democrats to get Republicans to
fold and make some real concessions in regards the healthcare.
But I just don't believe in maga's ability to do
the right thing, especially when they have zero reason too
because they already got everything they want.

Speaker 3 (01:06:11):
Now, remember when Mehdi.

Speaker 1 (01:06:12):
Hassan was here last week and he said, why do
Democrats always have to be the adults in the room.

Speaker 3 (01:06:17):
Let's listen, but you cannot have.

Speaker 34 (01:06:18):
A political system that always relies on only the Democratic
Party being the responsible polity.

Speaker 4 (01:06:23):
You just America cannot survive.

Speaker 34 (01:06:25):
We've created It's like having toddlers, right, they'll probably go
out of your a bunch of toddlers, and everyone else
has to be the adults in the room and that
cannot continue indefinitely.

Speaker 1 (01:06:34):
Mehdi is right, Uh, But the reason Dems have to
be the adults in the room is because they are okay,
in regard to these current MAGGA Republicans, Democrats absolutely are
the adults, and we have to count on Democrats to
do the right thing because Republicans won't.

Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
Republicans will let this.

Speaker 1 (01:06:48):
Whole society collapse right under the working class and poor.

Speaker 3 (01:06:51):
People's feet because they don't care. Mehdi is right.

Speaker 1 (01:06:55):
When he talks about how things are supposed to be,
but that's not how things are. So yes, Democrats have
to be the adults in the room because Republicans will
have you choosing between starving are being sick, and some
folks in this country have no choice but to do both. Now,
back to Rowling. When people talk about the shutdown, now,
the first thing they bring up is the airlines. By
the way, I told y'all on Thursday, this shut down
wouldn't last much longer because of the airlines. It's always

(01:07:16):
going to be corporate interests over the interests of the
people in this country. But they talk about the airlines,
they talk about the staff benefits. But those federal workers, sadly,
to me, get lost in this conversation booth. All the
federal workers out there, Okay, they're getting mentioned last now,
and I don't like that federal workers aren't getting paid.
Do we know what this means in a country where
majority of people are living paycheck to paycheck. Rowland said

(01:07:37):
something when him and his panel were accusing us of misinformation.

Speaker 3 (01:07:40):
It was before he threw the doctor the mb Carter.
I think her name is.

Speaker 16 (01:07:43):
Let's listen, Niambi the reason I think is bad advice
is because when you are in political battles, you maximize
your leverage. And when you're fighting on behalf of people,
they understand that there are people who are not getting
benefits a federal workers who are not getting their paychecks
as well. But they also are dealing with an administration

(01:08:06):
that's been slashing and burning and firing people in discriminately
as well. So all this is wrapped up. So what
you do not do is you do not capitulate. You
do not back down, you don't go on well you
know what, Hey, we'll just go ahead and pack it in. No,
you try to get as much as you can.

Speaker 33 (01:08:25):
Well, absolutely, and this is why Wendy Williams sidekick should
not be trusted with political information.

Speaker 5 (01:08:30):
I've long had a beef with Charlotmade, so let's just
stop there.

Speaker 1 (01:08:36):
I don't know why people think calling me Wendy wimsidekick.
Thank god I got that opportunity twenty years ago. That's
one of the reasons I'm here now. But please tell
the good doctor called it that I don't shine shoes anymore.

Speaker 4 (01:08:45):
And how she got a beef for me.

Speaker 3 (01:08:46):
I never met you don't know you, but God bless
you sincerely.

Speaker 1 (01:08:49):
But in that exchange, Roland said, they understand that there
are people not getting their benefits. They understand their federal
workers not getting their paychecks. You know why Roland Martin
can say that's so nonchalantly because he's not potentially facing
eviction because he hasn't paid his rent for the month.
He doesn't need any money this month to pay for
his childcare and snap benefits.

Speaker 5 (01:09:07):
Food.

Speaker 1 (01:09:08):
Does Roland Martin labugoo built ass look like he's missing
any meals? I'm with sender the Catherine Cortes Masto of Nevada. Okay,
she's a Democrat. She said before the shutdown happened, we
need a bipartisan solution to address this impending healthcare crisis.
But we should not be swapping the pain of one
group of Americans for another. That's my mindset, and maybe
your mindset would be different if you actually spoke to

(01:09:30):
some of these federal workers facing eviction, or if you
spoke to some of these people who rely on food
benefits also Dems, if you was going to do a shutdown,
why not have something in place for the federal workers
who are gonna need money? Are the folks who are
losing Snap benefits. Hell, what's that guy's name, Timothy Mellon.
He donated one hundred and thirty million to help pay
the US military personnel. Where the Democratic donors who are

(01:09:50):
willing to do that for federal workers are people with.

Speaker 3 (01:09:53):
Know Snap benefits.

Speaker 1 (01:09:54):
All you lobbyists who'd be given to these Democratic campaigns,
now is your time to shine for the people, baby,
all a pharmaceutical lifebbyists, pro Israel lobbyists, the lobbyists that.

Speaker 3 (01:10:02):
Represent real estate interests.

Speaker 1 (01:10:03):
If you want Democrats to keep making this stand in
regard to healthcare, dig deep into your pockets and find
some relief for the constituents of these people being impacted
by the government shut down. Once again, we can have
an ideological discussion about the government shut down.

Speaker 3 (01:10:17):
We can agree to disagree on that.

Speaker 1 (01:10:18):
But to say that I put out misinformation, that's just
a fat row Ton Martin lie.

Speaker 3 (01:10:27):
Now like that, I just got a little bit more,
just a little bit more.

Speaker 1 (01:10:31):
There is a reason roll Ton Martin wants to paint
the Breakfast Club me in particular, as a person spreading misinformation. See,
I'm gonna pull the curtain back a little bit, not
too much, because It really don't matter. I just want
some of you to know people's motivation. Roland Martin is
a hater, Okay. He be hating on me behind the scenes.
To anybody who will listen, he will say something negative
about me. And it's always in regards to how I'm

(01:10:53):
moving in this media space, in particular anything in the
political realm. It's always a why.

Speaker 4 (01:10:57):
Does he get this? Why does he get that? Type
of why is he?

Speaker 3 (01:11:00):
Okay? What does Why do politicians go sit with the
Breakfast Club Roland?

Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
I don't know, okay, fay vane faed, but he will
do all that hating, but love texting my phone asking
him to come on to breakfast Club.

Speaker 4 (01:11:12):
Correct, just be super super correct. Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:11:16):
One day, a few years ago, I'm sitting at home,
Roland texts me and says, Hey, tonight, on my show,
we're going to talk about Tyler Perry and BT. At
the time, it was rumors of Tyler buying BT, and
the headline of the video he posted was Roland's blistering
deconstruction of Paramount's idiotic failed attempt to sell BT.

Speaker 3 (01:11:34):
So I'm watching this video because he asked me to,
and about forty minutes in.

Speaker 1 (01:11:38):
One of the brothers on the panel starts bigging up
Roland's Blackstar Network, as he should, and then he just
do a random shot at me, which Rolling tended to
let people do.

Speaker 35 (01:11:46):
Let's listen, the Blackstar Network is doing something that is
you know, in the teaching professional, we call it God's work.

Speaker 8 (01:11:55):
It's thankless work.

Speaker 35 (01:11:56):
People may not necessarily understand it. But as you said,
when there's something that folks need some reliable information on,
you see the numbers explode.

Speaker 8 (01:12:05):
They come here. And Lauren, when you said you look
at you.

Speaker 35 (01:12:08):
Watch YouTube a lot, I mean I try to stay
out of digital world because I try to continue to
be analog, as you can see, but I can't fight
the future. So have I look Attube a lot too
for that very same reason. And I'm saying this to
say that, you know, we saw what having the Bamady
Jones at HBO or ESPN high quality analysis he couldn't stand.

(01:12:31):
And then you see them throw something out Comedy Central, brother,
Thenard or Charlemagne, whatever you call itself, that ain't high
quality analysis.

Speaker 1 (01:12:39):
My brother, I don't know your name, but you can
big up the Blackstar Network without throwing shots at what
I was doing on Comedy Central at the time.

Speaker 3 (01:12:45):
You can love on rolling and big up what he
does without slandering me.

Speaker 1 (01:12:48):
But whatever, if that's what you got to do to
remain in rotation on Roland's YouTube page, God bless you too.

Speaker 3 (01:12:53):
Now, in that same episode, Roland had this to say
about me. Mind you. He texted my phone and told
me to tune in listen.

Speaker 11 (01:12:59):
You know what.

Speaker 36 (01:13:00):
I have not said this publicly, but I'm gonna go
ahead and say this, and I would love for the
current leadership of BEET to prove me wrong. When we
were in Atlanta covering Melany Campbell's grassroots organizing the event
in Atlanta, this was what may. I ran into a
sister and she said, I'm so glad to meet you.

(01:13:24):
She said, I know so much about you, and I
was like, really, She says, yes, She says after the
death of George Floyd, she said, the leaders of BT
came to me and said it's time for us to
do a news show. And she said, I ran the
research and she said, we need exhaustive research. We studied

(01:13:44):
day parts, we studied shows, we studied other networks. We
looked at radio, we looked at the newspaper, we looked
at podcasting. She said, we studied demographics eighteen, twenty four,
twenty four, thirty five, thirty five, forty four, forty four,
fifty four, fifty five plus. And she said, after we
ran all the metrics, she said, the research came back

(01:14:05):
and the number one person they said Black America said
they wanted to see host a news show on BT
was you.

Speaker 4 (01:14:15):
She said, it was you. She said Charlemagne was on
the list.

Speaker 36 (01:14:22):
And she said, and then when comedist Central launched his show,
she said, they're using my research.

Speaker 3 (01:14:27):
Well, Roland, who else was on the list?

Speaker 1 (01:14:29):
Okay, why do you have to let people know that
out of them all the other people who on the
show was on the list, Charlamagne the Goud was on
the list. Rowland, I am not your competition, and I
refuse to be responsible for how you feel about yourself.
You accused Breakfast Club and spreading misinformation because you are
trying to discredit me in the platform I have helped build.
As if that's going to amplify what you're doing. You
don't have to do that, brother, You already up. You
are a fifty six year old seasoned political pundit. You

(01:14:50):
have a lot of respect in the space of political commentary.
You are a trusted source for a lot of people.
Rolling be secure in that and stop projecting your insecurities
onto me. There's a lot of I disagree with rolling On,
and even with knowing he'd be sneak this, and not
once until today have I ever spoken on him in
a public manner, and it's never been disparaging, not even

(01:15:11):
a fat joker.

Speaker 3 (01:15:12):
And I always thought Tarita she'd calling him Gerald Desert
was hilarious.

Speaker 1 (01:15:15):
But rolling out there lying, accusing us of spreading misinformation,
that's an intentional attack to discredit us. What if I
did an intentional attack to discredit you? What if I said,
could someone out there make me an AI video? Okay,
I want an AI video of the Stephanie Mills Challenge,
and I want Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffrey singing I never.

Speaker 4 (01:15:36):
Knew love like this before.

Speaker 1 (01:15:39):
And I want Roland Martin in the background of that
video dancing for Democrats like he do.

Speaker 3 (01:15:44):
I'm talking boogey in for biscuits.

Speaker 1 (01:15:45):
And I want the caption to say, we told Roland
Martin he can cut in line at the all you
can Eat Bussy buffet and he agreed to be our
backup dancer. What if I ask people to do that
for me, that would be an intentional attack.

Speaker 3 (01:15:59):
But I'm not going to do that.

Speaker 1 (01:16:00):
All I'm going to ask you to do, sir, is
don't tell no lie on me, and I won't speak
truth about you. Please give Roland Martin the biggest he huh.

Speaker 5 (01:16:12):
Let me tell you something.

Speaker 6 (01:16:13):
Here, Sara, I need to take a I need to
take a class, honey, because when you professionally respond to somebody,
I sit back and I canckle. Okay, my flavor was
just guessed at s meeedy like I need because every
time my clar back I.

Speaker 5 (01:16:30):
Get in trouble.

Speaker 4 (01:16:30):
But this was a long time coming on.

Speaker 3 (01:16:32):
God bless everybody.

Speaker 4 (01:16:33):
This was a long time coming.

Speaker 3 (01:16:34):
God bless everybody involved, and be relaxed. It's cool, I said,
but everybody, God bless you.

Speaker 5 (01:16:41):
Take gods. That is how you respond to somebody. And
I didn't even know and looked like today splashed the
picture up on the screen. I was like, oh my god,
I didn't.

Speaker 8 (01:16:53):
Let's move on.

Speaker 5 (01:16:55):
More.

Speaker 3 (01:16:56):
But if we need to do more, we'll do more,
but probably not. It's okay, Oh my.

Speaker 2 (01:17:00):
God, when Bay shut you up, your shut up, So
I just got shut up. Let's move on, all right,
We'll move on all right, Thank you for that donkey
of the day. Yes, indeed, let's open up the phone lines.
Eight hundred five eight five one oh five one.

Speaker 5 (01:17:12):
Heybody else got to give them donkey said, no, no, no,
no no.

Speaker 2 (01:17:15):
The government shutdown is over. They're saying it is officially
is tentatively over. Right, So we're asking, do you think
the Democrats should have stood in and fought some more
on BACKLM that you are possibly getting your snap benefits back,
that you know TSA workers and and people are starting
to get their governmental workers are getting their money.

Speaker 4 (01:17:33):
Now, let's discuss eight hundred five eight five one oh
five to one. It's the Breakfast Club.

Speaker 8 (01:17:37):
Good morning, the Breakfast Club.

Speaker 26 (01:17:46):
It's topic time call eight hundred five eight five five
one to join into the discussion with the Breakfast Club.

Speaker 4 (01:17:54):
Morning.

Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
Everybody is dj n V just hilarious, Charlamagne the guy.
We are the Breakfast Club. Full line to wide open
eight hundred five eight five one oh five one. We're
actually streaming on Twitch as well. We're asking the government
shut down is tentively over. So it's the government is
is gonna be back opening the next couple.

Speaker 3 (01:18:12):
Of days, do you know, not days, it's gonna take.
It's gonna take a while.

Speaker 4 (01:18:15):
It gonna be a days no, no.

Speaker 6 (01:18:17):
And then another thing, right is like the aftermath too,
because you know it is they weren't some people weren't
getting paid, some people only getting half of you know
what I mean. So it's like now they gotta play
catch up, you know what I mean. So, and it's
not open tomorrow. It's gonna be a whole process. But
imagine the aftermath and the catch up from everything.

Speaker 1 (01:18:36):
Because it's still it still needs final approval in the
house before work is get paid everything.

Speaker 2 (01:18:41):
Do you think the dam should have pushed tartar or
are you glad that it finally reopened?

Speaker 4 (01:18:44):
We have Cindy on the line. Cindy, good morning.

Speaker 15 (01:18:48):
I'm sitting in my car on my driveway with.

Speaker 3 (01:18:53):
Hey, Hey, mom, Hi, how are you? We're waiting on
you to the question book.

Speaker 4 (01:19:00):
We're talking about the government.

Speaker 2 (01:19:02):
You think the damn should have pushed a little harder
or you're happy about the reopening of the government.

Speaker 29 (01:19:08):
Are they happy about it for for people, you know,
for other people that need their their money that need
a pay check, that food.

Speaker 19 (01:19:17):
Food on their gables.

Speaker 29 (01:19:18):
You know, I, oh gosh, I'm still stuck in the
middle on it.

Speaker 5 (01:19:22):
You know, get why are you stuck in the middle.
What do you think? What's the other side of it?
Why are you stuck in the middle?

Speaker 8 (01:19:28):
Just talk to us.

Speaker 5 (01:19:29):
Well, you know, I mean, I don't I don't go
for either party.

Speaker 1 (01:19:36):
I just feel that I get what you're saying that
they're making a choice between either people being sick, are
people starving?

Speaker 4 (01:19:43):
So like who want to right?

Speaker 3 (01:19:45):
Who a choice like that?

Speaker 4 (01:19:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:19:47):
You know, but the thing is it's difficult because there
a lot of people that can't pay their rent. There
a lot of people that can't eat if there's no
they can't afford to buy groceries. There's people that can't
pay car notes, and people that go into work and
like Charlomage's said, you know, he was in the airport
this weekend, and they're frustrated because because you imagine going
to work and you and you're working on the first fifteenth,
you know you're not getting anything, and you have kids,

(01:20:09):
you gotta pay for your holiday holidays around and going
on school.

Speaker 4 (01:20:12):
You know, Hello, who's this yo?

Speaker 27 (01:20:16):
What's good?

Speaker 4 (01:20:16):
Dj envious, step Steph Lover, what's up? Talk to us
was good. I'm just saying I.

Speaker 30 (01:20:23):
Think the Democrats held it down. And Charlotte Magne, I
don't know what's going on with you, bro. I think
it's because you chow Andrew Schultz now, but it's like
it's like you're trying to get more right wing and
just like shot on the Democrats.

Speaker 27 (01:20:35):
Excuse my, I'm.

Speaker 1 (01:20:36):
Sorry, I actually think that. I'm just saying I think
the Democrats did a great job. I don't think that
people should be giving Democrats for any flak for this
because they did something.

Speaker 3 (01:20:44):
They don't give them fight.

Speaker 30 (01:20:46):
But you was the one giving them flax for what for?
For having the government shutdown? And not you was you
was talking about that they should have complied, and you
know what I'm saying, like yes.

Speaker 1 (01:20:57):
They yeah, because they couldn't win this fight. Republicans had
zero reason to make concessions to them. Republicans got everything
they want in the big beautiful bill. Why would they
concede for what?

Speaker 30 (01:21:07):
That's the problem is that they keep over, they keep
doing whatever they want.

Speaker 29 (01:21:11):
This is the problem.

Speaker 30 (01:21:12):
The Democrats weren't doing anything.

Speaker 4 (01:21:15):
Well, guess what people who are gonna fight.

Speaker 1 (01:21:16):
But guess what, Republicans have all the power. So you
know what y'all should be thinking about for the midterms,
getting Democrats that power. Remember when Andrew Young was he
and Andrew Young was saying how him and Martin Luther
King Jr.

Speaker 3 (01:21:26):
Had a conversation with Lyndon B. Johnson, and Lyndon B.

Speaker 1 (01:21:29):
Johnson told them, look, man, y'all are absolutely right, but
I can't do anything because I don't got no power.
And Andrew Young said, he told Martin Luther King Jr. Man,
we're gonna go take a vacation and we'll figure this
out next time. Martin said, No, We're gonna go out
there and get that man some power. That's what y'all
better be thinking about for the midterms, going out there
and getting Democrats some power.

Speaker 4 (01:21:45):
Hello, who's this talk to us?

Speaker 8 (01:21:49):
Rico?

Speaker 7 (01:21:50):
Yeah, I'm happy about the shutdown. And then because I
got friends who was the effective ody shut down? And yeah,
they was hurting bad man. I mean outside like this
past weekend, Ford was giving away boxes of food and
because he started with workers in the military out there
in line for food and everything. It's bad.

Speaker 15 (01:22:10):
So also I.

Speaker 7 (01:22:12):
Wanted to mention Charlamagne. So I don't know alaho at
just to try to call into you guys this morning,
the way you responded to Roland real quick. I gave
your props man real card.

Speaker 3 (01:22:24):
I appreciate you.

Speaker 4 (01:22:25):
Thank you, Obama man, have a go one, all right, data,
what's the moral of the story.

Speaker 3 (01:22:29):
We ain't got much time, I mean the moral of
the story.

Speaker 1 (01:22:31):
I feel exactly what I just said, Like, I know
people are going to try to make this about Democrats, Cavan,
but also remember Democrats do a hell mary on behalf
of American people who are about to get their asses
kicked because of these healthcare premiums. Because they knew this
was a fight they probably would not win. Republicans weren't
going to give Democrats any type of win on obamacam
on obamacas.

Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
So I don't have a reason to be mad at Democrats.

Speaker 1 (01:22:53):
I'm more mad at the Democrat talking heads who acted
like DEM's had a chance at winning this shutdown.

Speaker 3 (01:22:58):
So I'm glad that the government is back reopen, and
if y'all really.

Speaker 1 (01:23:02):
Want some things to change with the healthcare system, just
make sure Democrats get their power back. Republicans are just
doing what they're supposed to be doing because they.

Speaker 3 (01:23:09):
Got all the power. Democratics.

Speaker 5 (01:23:11):
You want the power.

Speaker 2 (01:23:13):
Think about the midterms, right, And I also want to
say that the notion where you can't question an elected
official is crazy. The fact that you vote that person
in office and you can question the Democrat or Republican.
It is your right to question elected officials. If you
see something you don't write that you don't like, you
can say something, you can ask, you can question, you
don't have to agree.

Speaker 4 (01:23:32):
A thousand percent of what you can't do is just
let them just sit there and walk over you.

Speaker 2 (01:23:36):
That's that's, that's it. I hate when people question something.
They be like, well you question them, you're not You're
not a Democrat?

Speaker 4 (01:23:41):
You question them? You maga you question them? No, you
can question your elected your officials. Matter of fact, you're
supposed to.

Speaker 11 (01:23:46):
Ye.

Speaker 5 (01:23:47):
Well, I have a question, how do you get how
do you get the Democrats that power?

Speaker 12 (01:23:51):
Though?

Speaker 3 (01:23:51):
Like when the elections, the midterm elections next year November.

Speaker 4 (01:23:56):
Vote, get out in there and vote.

Speaker 5 (01:23:58):
Vote.

Speaker 2 (01:23:59):
All right, all right, when we come back, we got
the latest with Lawrence. Don't go anywhere.

Speaker 4 (01:24:03):
It's the breakfast Club.

Speaker 8 (01:24:03):
Good morning, the Breakfast Club.

Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
Morning everybody is DJ n V, Jess Hilariyu and Charlamagne
the Guy.

Speaker 4 (01:24:12):
We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get to the latest
with Laura.

Speaker 5 (01:24:15):
Lauren becoming a straight fast.

Speaker 4 (01:24:18):
She gets them to somebody that knows somebody.

Speaker 5 (01:24:21):
I'm a homegirl that knows a little bit about everything.

Speaker 8 (01:24:24):
She'd be having the latest on you, the last, the
latest with Lauren la Rosa.

Speaker 3 (01:24:29):
Sometimes you have facts, sometimes you have details. Sometimes you
have a little bit of everything.

Speaker 4 (01:24:33):
It's the latest on the Breakfast Club, all right, y'all.

Speaker 22 (01:24:38):
So over the weekend, there was a story that broke
that Diddy was caught with alcohol behind bars and there's
been a back and forth. Okay, so over the weekend,
TMZ did a story that diddy sobriety journey took a
detour because there was a brew, like a homemade brew
found in uh, you know where, he says, at Fort Dix,

(01:24:59):
which the low level security prison where he's doing his
time at. They claimed that this brew was Fanta sugar
and apples, which they say, mate us, they give they
put it together, take two weeks to let it sit
and it turns into something that they call whoch.

Speaker 5 (01:25:12):
You know how, back in the day, us to.

Speaker 4 (01:25:13):
Make the minx this right.

Speaker 3 (01:25:16):
So right had a bottle of shine.

Speaker 5 (01:25:18):
Okay.

Speaker 22 (01:25:19):
Now, when this story broke, of course it's a big
deal because did he talked a lot about it's been
a long time. It's been like over twenty years since
he's been sober. That was his main thing when he
was talking to the judge, trying to come home, show
that he's working on himself. Now, I reached out to
Diddy's rep who said that the accusations that were out
were completely false. Not only did he tell me that,
but they actually went on Diddy's official X account and

(01:25:41):
tweeted the rumors claiming mister Colmbs was caught with alcohol.
Completely false. His only focus is becoming the best version
of himself and returning to his family.

Speaker 3 (01:25:49):
So where did that room start?

Speaker 5 (01:25:51):
So TMC did the story.

Speaker 22 (01:25:52):
They said they had a confirmed with sources and officials. However,
the prison, to me and to a few other out
let's say that they had no.

Speaker 5 (01:26:02):
Record of this.

Speaker 4 (01:26:03):
And so the prison said that that's not true. They
don't have a record for that. That's correct, that's crazy.

Speaker 22 (01:26:07):
Yeah, I will say though TMZ is standing on their sources.
They have not removed the story now. And another part
of the story was that the reason why they found
this mix in Diddy's cell where he was was because
they were coming in to figure out moving him, and
then when this happened, they decided not to move him.

Speaker 5 (01:26:23):
So I did ask what was he moved? Is that
part of the story true?

Speaker 22 (01:26:27):
And up until last night when I checked back in
before coming in here this morning, his w REP told
me that there's been no movement. There was never a
conversation about movement that they know of, So I don't
know what's going on there, but they're saying it's not true.

Speaker 3 (01:26:37):
And somebody probably made that story up because they know
it was his birthday last week.

Speaker 5 (01:26:41):
Yes, it was his birthday last week.

Speaker 7 (01:26:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:26:43):
But the sad thing about it, if it's not true
in the prison itself is saying it's not true. How
does that make Diddy look? Just keep making them look horrible.
And I wouldn't want to be drunk in prison. I
need all my faculties. Okay, being drunk in prison makes
it easier for somebody to take that take that what
OUCH was trying disarm you?

Speaker 22 (01:27:03):
Well, speaking of getting out of prison or people that
help you get out of prison, Kim Kardashi and y'all
know she's been trying to take the bar to be attorney.

Speaker 5 (01:27:12):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (01:27:13):
How many times did she fail?

Speaker 5 (01:27:15):
Three times or twice? But she she keep going. She
failed again, she keep studying.

Speaker 22 (01:27:19):
It's like four yeah, so she says, she posted over
on her Instagram over the weekend. I am not a
lawyer yet, I just play a very well dressed one
on TV. Six years into the journey and I'm still
all in until I passed the bar. No shortcuts, not
giving up, no, just more studying and even more determination.
Think that everybody who's supported me. Falling short isn't failure.

Speaker 5 (01:27:38):
It's fuel. I was so close to passing the exam
and it only motivates me more.

Speaker 4 (01:27:43):
If you if she failed that many times, would you hire.

Speaker 6 (01:27:47):
Because she keeps trying. It's something that she really want
to do. Obviously she got a passion for it.

Speaker 5 (01:27:51):
But it's like I heard that that exam is not
easy yet I supposed to be.

Speaker 4 (01:27:57):
That's not supposed to be easy, Like you're an attorney.

Speaker 5 (01:28:00):
Yeah yeah, I know, but.

Speaker 6 (01:28:01):
I'm saying like that's like you could be one of
the smallest people ever and you still fail the bar.

Speaker 4 (01:28:06):
Exam, but also too many time.

Speaker 22 (01:28:10):
But a few years ago, back in twenty twenty one,
she passed the baby bar, which is one of two
tests that you need to become an attorney in California.
So I mean she's making some leeway. It just hasn't
happened fully yet, but she'll, you know, continue to.

Speaker 5 (01:28:21):
Do it again.

Speaker 4 (01:28:21):
Not a lot of people fail the first time. But
how many times?

Speaker 1 (01:28:23):
Is this why they don't have a bar for elected officials?
Why is it harder to become a goddamn with her becoming?
Ain't no president bar, no governor got to take no
test before they do these jobs.

Speaker 3 (01:28:36):
That's crazy.

Speaker 22 (01:28:37):
Yeah, so she failed the baby bar exam three times
before passing on her fourth attempt in December twenty twenty one.
Fourth attempt, but it was the baby bar that's different
than this, the big one that she just failed just now.
So Yes, And in other news, and lastly, the Grammy
nominations came out over the weekend, and yet there are

(01:28:57):
a lot of people leading the Grammy nominations. I saw
Glorilla was nominated. I also saw Kendrick Lamar is leading
as well.

Speaker 4 (01:29:06):
Uh.

Speaker 22 (01:29:06):
Cardi b was also mentioned in the Grammy nominations and
there's been you know, I feel like this year there
wasn't as you know how people get mad when people
are not nominated, nominated.

Speaker 5 (01:29:15):
I don't feel like people really cared this year. I'm
being honest.

Speaker 3 (01:29:18):
I think the Grammy has got it very right as
far as.

Speaker 5 (01:29:20):
Like the rap clips nominated five times, yes, five times.
People do care care that are nominated, but created that was.

Speaker 3 (01:29:29):
A good one. Kendrick definitely should have been in there.

Speaker 1 (01:29:32):
The only one I would really really make a case
for that I didn't see was Two Chains and Larry
June produced by Alchemists.

Speaker 4 (01:29:40):
That could you have?

Speaker 5 (01:29:42):
Yeah, let God sort them out.

Speaker 22 (01:29:43):
In the rap album Tyler the Creator, Glorilla from Glorious
gen X, Kendrick Lamar and God does like ugly.

Speaker 4 (01:29:51):
That's a tough cat.

Speaker 5 (01:29:52):
I think.

Speaker 4 (01:29:53):
I think the clips sweep it. I think the clip
was amazing. What they put together just sound that was amazing.
I think the clips take it off.

Speaker 1 (01:30:03):
And I'm gonna tell you why that such a tough category. Wow,
Kendrick Lamar, Grammy Darling Right, g m X was fire
and then I got.

Speaker 4 (01:30:10):
Glorilla then didn't can't you get a Grammy?

Speaker 3 (01:30:12):
Last that was not like us he did.

Speaker 5 (01:30:15):
No, he won the Best Album of the Year two,
didn't he No.

Speaker 3 (01:30:18):
I'm that was everything for not like us last year.

Speaker 22 (01:30:22):
Yeah, not like I remember because remember they were upset
that they were singing it in the crowd.

Speaker 5 (01:30:26):
Remember that was in a long sum my apologies. I
thought gn X one.

Speaker 3 (01:30:29):
I just feel like I do think the Clips should
get it.

Speaker 4 (01:30:32):
I think the.

Speaker 5 (01:30:34):
I will go with you said Glow Yeah, Clips yeah,
and Drake.

Speaker 3 (01:30:38):
Jed album was fired.

Speaker 1 (01:30:40):
But if I had to pick the three, it would
be between Gloria, Glorilla, Clips and Kendrick.

Speaker 3 (01:30:47):
I would like to see Clips get it.

Speaker 22 (01:30:51):
I was going to just say, I feel like when
the Grammys get it wrong people, there's so much like
ah and then you finally have great nominees and different
categories this year.

Speaker 5 (01:30:59):
Yeah, and they didn't get as much like crazy. I
did see places.

Speaker 3 (01:31:04):
And social media.

Speaker 5 (01:31:08):
Good morning, Grandma. That is the latest with yo, Lauren,
you're crazy. You know what I walk quick, y'all.

that's my father is still opening to fathering you Lauren
if you you know you need.

Speaker 5 (01:31:38):

have a father and he's probably listening.

Speaker 3 (01:31:42):
Bro jes.

Speaker 5 (01:31:42):
His dad did offer to like, you know, be like
a closer.

Speaker 4 (01:31:45):
You know, you see what was happening, realized you ain't
got no better.

Speaker 5 (01:31:48):
