Speaker 1 (00:00):
Wake that ass up in the morning.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
The Breakfast Club Morning, everybody, it's the j Envy Jess hilarishall,
I mean the guy we are, the Breakfast Club lawn,
the roasters feeling in for Jess. We got a special
guests in the building. The Kid that did baby Face Ray. Yeah,
what's up, brother?

Speaker 1 (00:16):
How you feeling?

Speaker 3 (00:17):
How you doing, my brother?

Speaker 2 (00:19):
I'm doing good doing all right.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
I love the title of that new album, Man. What
does that title mean?

Speaker 1 (00:24):
The Kid that Did, Kid That Did Man?

Speaker 4 (00:26):
Originally I got it from Sauce Walker. It was a
quote he was saying, you know what I'm saying, But
I felt like it applied to what I had going
on and everything that I did so far in my career.
So it originally started out as a mixed tape idea
where I wanted to put all the group artists that
I was dealing with on it, but it ain't work
out like that, and then it.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Turns into an album.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
We've been talking about how how much Detroit has influence
on the game right now, speaking about that for a
little bit, because for a while it was it was
difficult to get out being a Detroit artist.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yeah, it was tough for us at first, but now
like everywhere you go, they love us. You know what
I'm saying. It feel good right now, you know, but
at first it was rough. They ain't even want to
hear it.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
What was the switch?

Speaker 2 (01:06):
What was the change?

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Me always say this.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
I think when t came out with the first day
out kind of like opening it kind of shine like
on Detroit for that type of sound, you know what
I'm saying, And then everything after that side of dood
it was cool.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
You know. It's interesting that I saw somebody, somebody sent
me a tweet where they said, baby faces babyface raised
music is all about getting money and hustling. Even if
you're broke. His music will motivate you to go get
it bag. How does it feel to hear people say
things like that about you because you know, for me
growing up, that's what Jeezi felt like.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
You know what, I that's a cool title to put
on me. I'm glad they're putting that on me than
anything else. I'm glad I can motivate them to do that.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
I hate when they I don't hate when they say
it and they trying to put it like that like
I'm just down talking to everybody that was broke because
I used to be broke. I remember I used to
be so but it's cool.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
I ain't tripping at this point.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
Do you feel like you're getting like your flowers or
like you're justice?

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Definitely? Definitely.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
How they received my last album definitely motivated me and
made me feel love and support.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
It Still, what motivated you to get a bag? When
you hear people say, you know, damn baby face read
music motivates me to go get some money? What motivated you.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Being in a mix? Like when I was young, I
was in a mix. You know what I'm saying. I
probably was in a mixed the wrong crowd, but just
seeing what they did and that motivated me to get
a bag.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
It wasn't even about rapp.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
It was just with the things they did and how
they carried themselves and stuff.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
So now you're not in the mix. What motivates you
today today? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (02:32):
My kids, you know what I'm saying. My family, my
fans and stuff like that. That's keep me going through.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
I wasn't look at your kids and be like, I
don't really have a baby face, because this is what
a real baby face looks like.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Not for real, I'd be looking at them like this,
This is how I used to look when I was little,
Like it's crazy.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
I love seeing you know, sod the baby was up there,
and I loved the fact that Detroit is coming together
a lot more than before. You know, there was just
so many beasts on so many different sides of Detroit.
But it feels like that's been squashed. What do you
think the reason that that has I.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Think it's more of everybody understanding that we got business
to handle.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
We ain't gotta be like each other or hang around
each other, but all the bullshit that's in the mix,
we ain't gotta you know what I'm saying, Like you
get in a bag, whatever, go do your thing.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Y'all in the same clubs, y'all doing concerts.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
It ain't no big deal.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
I saw you got a few lyrics, man, that make
me just wonder, like, why does it feel like you
be so disgusted to hear that a woman would even
fuck with a lame ass nigga When you put a
lot of emphasis on that. You got one line. You see,
we ain't got no business even speaking if you fucking lambs,
you ain't got no business even thinking you can fuck
with face. Another line you say, seeing the soul called
batty fucking lamb, it left me traumatized.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Another line you say, almost cry when I seen my
ex bitch her new nigga broken. It's sad to see.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Yeah, yeah, dang, that's crazy. I don't know. Man.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
You know, when you're dealing with somebody, you put your
you know, look, your love and your care into them
and you deal with them. And then you see somebody
that you feel is lame, that's dealing with the same
thing that you cared about.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
It can miss you up a little bit.

Speaker 6 (04:03):
So why is it that he can say that and
you big him up, but when a girl says the
same thing, we get dawnplayed. Why do you think that
that is because he loves to drag me for being
like the it's certain things I don't want to deal with.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
That's crazy I was talking about.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
He does it daily. I can send you.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Women is doing that a lot now, Like y'all got high,
high expectations in me and you feel me.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
I'm saying it.

Speaker 6 (04:24):
Just you think not dealing with the lame is high
high or is that like just regular depends on what
you to consider a lame too.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Though.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
You gotta excuse me because what I think is the
lame y'all.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
People might not think I don't know you just you
could just I don't know.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
I can't really pinpoint.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
You see, like Broin, maybe that girl was always lame.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Man's why y'all you had heard it? Maybe maybe maybe
I'm lame to somebody too.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
So do you have an ex in particular when you
be writing these raps?

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Do you have? No? No, no, no, no, I ain't
ain't turn nobody. I ain't doing that.

Speaker 6 (04:58):
So in delusional, you're not talking about nobody specific because
it was given finding love currently in love.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Nah, No, it was it was it kept everybody kept
saying delusional, delusional.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
I think I think Be even has said it to
me delusional. And I was in the studio.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
About what it's the summertime, it's a delulu summer. You
ain't hurt.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Yeah, it's been that. Somebody just kept saying, like delusion,
you delusion or anything.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
So it was just something.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Going on, right, You ever told a girl that you delusional?
That's my boyfriend, that girl delusion.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
I never say that.

Speaker 6 (05:35):
I'm really just asking because this ain't This game am
new to me. I guess you're using me. But for you,
I'm delusional. You perfectly beautiful. I got some bruises too.
It sounds like you been right there.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
I ain't gonna lie in the relationship. You have to
be somewhat delusional about your partner. You know what I'm saying,
Somewhat I feel you know what I'm saying. If you
ain't delusional about that person, then it ain't really gonna
work out. If you not all the way strong out
on me, like to the to the full, like, it
ain't gonna work up.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
You can't be a little stupid though, like like, for example,
if you're dealing with a girl, sometimes get straight up smart.
She know you got a bunch of girls. She can't
be delusional, but like you the only one.

Speaker 6 (06:13):
Hey man, I was gonna say sometimes, well, but never
mind nothing what you say.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Lauren single and she's been looking for a man for
a while now, well a lot.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
I'm not delusional.

Speaker 6 (06:31):
I just think that I agree with you that sometimes
at some point you do have to kind of like
remove critical.

Speaker 5 (06:37):
No, that's gonna sound dumb, not remember critical thinking.

Speaker 6 (06:39):
But sometimes you have to just kind of go with
the flow and if you figure out at the end
of it, d it's not working and it's not right,
it's whatever. But you are a bit delusional as you're
flowing because you want to you want to f around
and find out a bit.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
But I was gonna say sometimes as a woman, you
have to not fully tell the truth a bit because
you got to ease it.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
You got it a lot on it.

Speaker 6 (06:59):
You gotta ease a guy strikes again. You have to
ease a guy into being able to take what you're
saying to.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
Them without it being an ego trick. Crazy as a man.
Men's lives. Men do small lives with women.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Sometimes they do a lot of lies.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
They do a lot of.

Speaker 6 (07:19):
I'm not saying it in like like I'm lying about
who I'm with or I'm cheating. I mean like, because
he was basically trying to get you to say, you
be telling people they the only one and they not.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
You do that? Are you not saying that's that's what
that's that's what he was trying.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
To get You let them.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
That's why he was about to answer that question.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Yeah, I thought, Yeah, I ain't that type of gay bro.
Ain't that type of guy.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
I ain't gonna say, I ain't gonna I'll just blankly
be like you only one, like I'm gonna treat you
as such.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
I'm gonna let my actions show.

Speaker 6 (07:54):
And she delusionally feels that and goes with it, even
if she might not think different.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
I mean, ship, people go through stuff. You've been through stuff,
and I'm sure you've been through stuff like people go
through saying I've been through stuff.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
You everybody. That's why now read that you just brought
your mama house man.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Yeah, thank you. You know that you listen to say
I think I was.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
Yeah, how that feels feel good? I feel damn good.
I ain't gonna I used to have to staying like
once I buy my mama house.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
I'm cool. You know what I'm saying. But we're gonna
keep going and keep reaching.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
You know, when did you know you got to that
point where you were able to do it? Like you
sitting with your financial advisor, I can go by my
mama house.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
I sent the money, like, hold on, in my mind,
I'm doing the right thing. Is like, as soon as
I get X amount of dollars, I'm buying my my house.
So once I got to that I'm buying my house,
it was that simple.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
You're surprised that, you know how she was getting.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
I called my dad. I didn't tell her. I called
my dad like, yeah, find the house. And he's like,
what's the what the budget?

Speaker 3 (08:59):
What what was?

Speaker 4 (09:00):
And I told him, He like, you show yeah, so
what was the budget? It was a It was a
nice amount.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
He said, you shure, And he's playing like you broke.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
Bro yeah, because they don't be little.

Speaker 5 (09:11):
Yeah, look over here, because I wouldn't do that. That's
so mean. And boy, you just asked him.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
Was he sure I am broke?

Speaker 5 (09:18):
Like I threw it on you.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
That's that's what my mama do to all you show.
My pap do that because they want to make sure
that we're not having.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
To protect it.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
Did she what was she crying? What she was her?

Speaker 1 (09:30):
She cried?

Speaker 4 (09:31):
She's still she might crab today, crowded time. You know
what I'm saying, My mama crazy.

Speaker 6 (09:35):
But that's because she's seeing all of the success and
things happen that you said that, like, you know, she's
not used to.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
Seeing I'm the baby boy too, so everything that I
do she'd be looking at me like this is crazy.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
She gonna watch this and me like you said, Mama,
like that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
So you got to support the whole fam. The whole
family look at you because you baby boy, you you
the artist. You're making it. So how was that stress
on you?

Speaker 1 (09:59):
I mean, sometimes get stressful because they get a little crazy,
Like every when it's all coming to you at.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Once, Christmas time, Thanksgiving, everybody coming to the same time.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
I ain't tripping a Christmas time because it's time to
give you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
But when they see you do stuff like by your
mama house not now, those requests get a little crazy.
Let me borrow ten grand tell Friday man man hey
now for real?

Speaker 6 (10:19):
But how do you deal with stuff like that? I
saw an interview where you said I can't have your
problems on me right now. I'm trying to lock in
and focus. That don't mean I don't love you or nothing.
It's just I'm on a mission right now. So how
do you create that barrier of like, it's not that
I don't love you, but not right now.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
I need to get better at communicating because when I
get in that mold, I feel like you're wearing me down.
I just cut off all communication and I don't be
meaning them by, but I be so focused on what
I'm trying to do.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
I feel like you're throwing me off.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
How many siblings?

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Yeah? I got three? Ye.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
Salute to you too.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Man.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
You partners your Wavy Gang label with Empire. Yeah, what
does that mean for you?

Speaker 1 (10:53):
It means a lot.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
I don't know too many people that got their own
record label for real, for real, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
So for me to have one, it feel good. You
know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
You feel pressure, like I guess put on more artists
from Detroit? Are you gonna be looking for artists from everywhere?
Or No?

Speaker 4 (11:09):
No, I ain't really got that type of precire. Like
people ain't even run up on me. I mean they
do all the time. But I don't feel feel no pressure.
But I'm a helping guy. So if you got good
music and I can help you, know what I'm saying,
especially while I'm in a position I mean not, then
I'm gonna help you.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Just rappers or R and B everybody.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Really yeah, R and B, producers everything. If it's fire shit,
we can work.

Speaker 6 (11:30):
Is there more that you want to do, like in
your city, just outside of music, like community wise. I
know that you just did like the new balanced shoes
for the boys and Girls club.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
Like what else are you looking to do? Like building
out lives?

Speaker 4 (11:41):
Ain't man, We've been in talks trying to get school.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
Oh wow with ages with grades.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
Uh they were saying more like high school because we're
working with the football team now. So I think he'll
be cool for us to get to school and build
it up and have it under my brother and get
something going like that. But it's a lot I want
to do however I can.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
I'm who's all in the Wavy Game?

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Who all in the Wavy Game? Uh? We got a
lot of people in Wavy Game that's not rappers. So
I'm just gonna name the people that you.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Know, the rappers entertainers.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
But everybody is a Wavy Game Samuel Sha Bass, we
got Rockstar Rally, we got uh World Tour, Mafia. Any
of my brothers you've seen me with vs Nam all
them they claim they we all claim the same thing.
Daisy Name, Los and Nutty. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Everybody Wavy Game.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
You've been around, how many change you gotta buy you change?
How many wave game change change? I bought?

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Everybody really bought their own change that got waste for real.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
I just recently bought two changs for Samuel Bass and
rock Star, and I bought my nephew Changed today money
he rappers.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Well, I saw you say that the entertainment business involved
more than just rapping. So when you got the Wavy
Gang label deal with Empire, was that was that part
of that rapping? You saying that the taming business was
more than rapping, more than just rappings.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
It was me handling my business for sure, because we
have been talking about it a lot, and I had
did so much for the artists around me.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Guys. He was like, you know, we had a conversation.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
I'm like, you need to just let me get a
label and I try to work with the artists. We
really was trying to have me like work with the
artists in Detroit, but it ain't turn out like that.
I just got who I feel like I want to
work with.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
What do you want people to take away from this album?

Speaker 1 (13:27):
On the growth? Man?

Speaker 4 (13:28):
Just see me growing musically, you know, I want people
to know that I'm.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Still growing with it. You know what I'm saying. I'm
not just trying to put it out.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
Sometimes artists in the music business now today they look
at it as a cash grap.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
You know what I'm saying. So I want to keep
trying to move musically.

Speaker 5 (13:45):
People still got albums as cash grabs, like I thought.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Yeah, in the way it set up, nothing like that.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
Last time he was up there, you were talking about
the importance of a good team and a good manager.
Did you work at all out and find your good
team and make sure your your people around you?

Speaker 4 (13:58):
Yeah, you see my team, But I mean when we
handled a business, y'all. Keep my team women for show.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
You know what I'm saying. They keep me focused. You know.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
They don't let me slack even when I want to
be lazy or just do what I want to do
and feel like something is not important.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Next day, you also talked about, uh, you got two
sisters with you too, that's important.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Yeah, two black women.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Yeah, they boss you.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
Around all day.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
No, No, I'm a pretty easy going Yeah, so they
ain't got to boss me around.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
It makes sense.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
Can you say that again? For them?

Speaker 6 (14:26):
Easy going, easy going, so they don't have to bush you.

Speaker 5 (14:30):
Yeah, you look over there.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
I'm a man. I like direction. I like for a
woman to give me direction.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
Yeah, if it makes sense, you ain't. Might just tell
me anything though exactly.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Now.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Also, last time here we talking about acting. Yeah, you
want to get in the acting game.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
How has that been?

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Because tob is the Detroit is the biggest place for
to be so.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
To be lit right, this ain't gonna lie. I mean,
I mean smallly trying to do my thing, y'all gotta
go check it out. I got a video called Money
on my Mind where I kind of like did a
little acting, and then my trailer for my album we
did a little acting. So it's slowly getting to the
point where I'm gonna.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
Try to act a little bit.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
How did you connect with Rich Paul? For the World
is Yours?

Speaker 1 (15:11):
Rich Paul?

Speaker 4 (15:12):
Let me say this right too, because the last few
interviews I've been doing, I've been saying it wrong. My
guy who do clothes by the name of Jack Rip,
you know what I'm saying. He connected me with Rich Paul.
You know, he called me one day like you messed
with Rich and I'm like, yeah, So I got Rich
and we faced that and we just was talking. He
wasn't even talking about no sports and nothing else. He

(15:32):
was talking about music, how he enjoyed it, and we
ended up linking in California and doing the song.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
Oh he liked your music? Yeah, okay, okay, okay.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
He was telling me how he was listening to a song,
one specific song during his book release, which one was
Congratulations with Little Yachty dj Esco.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
Did it got you?

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (15:49):
What other conversations did y'all have?

Speaker 1 (15:50):
You know?

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Rich he's a wall for knowledge.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
Yeah, yeah, I see everybody say that. But he we
just be kicking about music. We're just trying to keep
me on game about excelling music.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
He has sent me a beat.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
You might sound fire on this and attacking like this,
you know what I'm saying. He helped me out with
my foundation thing back on. But other than that, we
were talking about music.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
Dope. What about the legacy record with with dough Boy Clay.
You said, build build a legacy before you get to
the tune. Yeah, Like, what kind of legacy do you
intend to leave in Detroit?

Speaker 1 (16:24):
Mm hmmm?

Speaker 4 (16:26):
One of the Motown joints? Like everybody know about Motown
just being a staple. I want people to remember Babyface
right waver game like that. You know what I'm saying, positive,
good music stuff like that.

Speaker 6 (16:39):
The title of that song, I don't know why that.
The title of that song just made my like heart
drop a little bit.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
No, what was it?

Speaker 6 (16:46):
Something about the tune to be completely off like for
I think with me when artists have songs like that,
I guess you have to. You do have to think
about legacy as your building. But I don't know, I
just don't. It's just a weird feeling that thing.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
I didn't.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
I didn't put it in a negative way. I know
what you mean, like the power to tongue and what
you're saying and stuff like. I didn't put it in
a negative way.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
I'm just being honest about life.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
The reality is we all gonna go Yeah, for sure.
I'm just like I saw DC Young Fly I say
that yesterday. It's true, like we all on borrow time
for sure, that interviews. At some point, we all gonna
end up in that place. We just don't know when.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
So for sure, you know.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
It's not like you're saying, I want to go to
the woman tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (17:24):
Yeah, yeah, just make it count why you're here, That's right, wasting.
I procrastinated a lot of my younger life, so I'm
trying to make it count right now.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
Yeah, I need some motivation. You started with a devotion
to what you said.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
God.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
You never promised me days without pain, but you did
promise He promised me to scrimp for those days. Was
there a situation that happened or do you remember you
know when you when your faith became so strong?

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Yeah, I mean we all got low points, you feel me.

Speaker 4 (17:50):
So that prayer was like when people play that song,
when you hear that prayer and understand like you ain't
alone because I know people be going through stuff.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
I didn't been through low point. You've been through little
points where you had.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
To you know what I'm saying, So, uh, it ain't
I can't name a specific time when it happened, but
you know that was just for the first to know,
like you're going through something you can get through it.

Speaker 6 (18:12):
Do you have a song on the project that like
you're that's kind of like your favorite out of the twenty.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
I ain't gonna lie.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
I've been feeling a legacy lot, Like before the album
came out.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
I was playing that a lot. You know what I'm
saying legacy for.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
You even one because you're building one to ask what
is it?

Speaker 5 (18:27):
But it's that, Yeah, I don't have question, just looking at.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
Me for let's let's get into something the album then
what you want to hear? Babyface Ray, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Y'all can just pick whatever y'all get, Just pick one.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
I wanted to ask one more questions because I know
you do so much for Detroit, and I know a
lot of times people don't necessarily see all the stuff
that you do for the kids in Detroit. Yeah, when
did that come about? When did you change your said?
These kids need to see a difference because every time
I'm in Detroit, and I'm in Detroit a lot, I
see you out about, but not only in the clubs.
I see you doing for the youth, right, I see
you giving back, whether it's the sneaky thing that she said,
or the backpacks, or the football teams or whatever it

(19:04):
may be. When did you feel like that was what
I need to do because you do it so much
and a lot of times people don't necessarily talk about.
Because I was actually looking for an article where they
talk about it, I see it, but I didn't see
any articles of talking about the things that you do.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Once we built our foundation, you know what I'm saying.
Once we built it.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
We already knew like what we wanted to do, So
we started doing like workshops for all the kids. And
I got kids, My brothers got kids, so we already
dealing with our kids, so it was it was important
to like start helping the kids. Is around, like, like
you say, when you come to the city, you gonna
see me out. So it ain't make no sense for
me to be bouncing through their luxury cars and not
giving back, you know what I'm saying. So I wanted

(19:39):
to help and reach out and touch the kids in
a way where they remember that someone like me help.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
You know why is it so important for especially Detroit artists.
I see this a lot in Detroit, where Detroit artists
stay in Detroit. Like a lot of times you see
people love other markets and they go to another city,
another state, like they move away. But you know, I
didn't been and seeing you in your hood, I didnet
pulled up on you. So why is that so important.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
To it be?

Speaker 4 (20:02):
It's rough real like because even my people like nah,
they still want me to get away. You know what
I'm saying, but it be hard because of my family
and what I got going on. But I did have
a theory in my mind that I wanted to stay
in Detroit and like get it going to where how
Atlanta is and how California is, you know what I'm saying,
And how they strong and they got what they got
going on, but it get rough out here.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
You know what I'm saying. I love that you think
you may got. It might not be like that for real.
So still I'm still kind of fifty fifty on how
I want to play. If I still want to be there.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
You know what I'm saying, You gotta move. I'm sure
you move a certain way though.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
Yeah, and some days I might be riding dolo. My
pops might call what you know, who you're with by myself?

Speaker 3 (20:42):
Man?

Speaker 1 (20:42):
You tripping?

Speaker 6 (20:42):
Man?

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Get somebody with you, you know?

Speaker 2 (20:44):
And you think it would see a day like how
Kendrick get in that lake where he brought everybody on
that stage. You think we can see that in Detroit where.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
We somewhat had that day Dug had a concert, Yeah, yeah,
where it kind of reunited both sides. That was kind
of fut before even though we had conversations prior to
the concert behind the scenes. But I think that day
kind of show like unity, but it's still more work
to do. It's still artists that's few in but they
might not show it. But we got to get past that,

(21:10):
you know what I'm saying. So maybe that day coming.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
I don't know what is it the Detroit street politics
though I don't understand that, like.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Is it beyond the music. It's real stuff going on
that you don't know about.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
You know what I say?

Speaker 1 (21:21):
So you know how that is.

Speaker 6 (21:23):
Speaking of Kendrick, he dropped the song where he's talking
about like we need more substance in media and music
all of that stuff. And I know you talked earlier
about T Grizzly and one of the things I like
about Detroit artists is the way that you guys storytell music.

Speaker 5 (21:37):
Do you feel like right.

Speaker 6 (21:38):
Now that we were having this conversation the other day, that
things are shifting more towards that and that's why people
are receiving you so well. Do you think that music
is at a place where you pick and choose what
you want to hear?

Speaker 4 (21:46):
It depends on the artists. I think Kendrick can do
with that. Because that's what type of artist he is.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
Not.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
If you're not an artist known for doing that, it
might not work for you, you know what I'm saying. Like,
even if you try to switch.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
Over to it, it might not work. So I don't
think we switching towards that. I think people know what's
right and what's wrong and what they want to hear.
Somebody told me the other day that our audience is
not maturing as much as we the artists may be,
you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (22:15):
So when crazy Young Miami was told that too.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
Yeah, So even when even we might find figure out
the information and try to kick it back into music,
they might be like what you want?

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Like you, they don't really know for real.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
So I think it's shifting, but it might be a
little taking, little time a little bit.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
Yeah, But I think it's the way you do it too, right,
Like when you I need a motivation and you wrapping,
I need some motivation, you're rapping about God. Yeah, that's
your way of doing it.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
Yeah, So it's just really I just think it's just
all about how you do it.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
Yeah, yo, how you present it.

Speaker 6 (22:43):
But does it make it hard for you when you
do stuff like that, But then you're told your audience
isn't maturing with you, Like, how do you figure out?

Speaker 5 (22:49):
Who are you talking to now?

Speaker 3 (22:51):
And who told you that?

Speaker 1 (22:51):
The label man, My partner told me that. We were
sitting in the car kicking it. He told me that.

Speaker 5 (22:57):
Okay, So it wasn't like a statistic.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
No, no, no no, just like the homy.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
We were just talking about growing and the things we
know now versus what we you know, what I'm saying,
music and stuff like that. He was just saying, like
the audience might not be maturing how we mature, So
you gotta sometimes, you know.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
I've also seen Rolling Stone asking you about being underrated,
and you were saying you don't feel underrated because of
these artists.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
Yeah, I don't feel underrated. I go in the rooms
and get the same respect as any other artists you might.
It's just how I carry myself. It may seem like
I'm underrated, Like I'm kind of like I'm to myself.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
I don't bother nobody. I don't want to be nobody mixed.
I don't care what you are doing. I'm doing my thing,
you know what I'm saying. So if you don't see
me in a lot of places might feel like I'm underrated.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
So when you see Whole puts you on the on
the playlist, is it surprising to you all?

Speaker 4 (23:49):
I thought it was like a pr He like, I'm like,
it ain't no way hold put me on the playlist.
But yeah, for sure, I know not you know what
I'm saying, So not that I know. It's like that's
lit because we listened to Whole. To be accepted by
a whole man gouds like future accepting, It's like that's
a big thing because that's all we used to listen to.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
Is ain't no way I feel underady?

Speaker 5 (24:13):
Oh so he didn't retry after that, no conversation after.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
No, no, we were just talking about that. One to
the game was floor season. He was across and they
was texting my phone like what up on home? I'm like,
you can't just walk up home?

Speaker 2 (24:25):
He would?

Speaker 4 (24:28):
He hit me with the hit me. I accepted that,
like I don't be too now what about that? What
about idea? To Tip and the security guys was like
I didn't want to tell y'all got blamed. It was

(24:48):
like I was over here and I'm telling security like,
ohoh no, me baby, face and I watched him tell
him and whole blaze me.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
But it's I don't believe what game was it, man, Katie?
We really was going on to we have kat was
me and Katie. I think they was. I don't know
who they was playing, but I know this was when
Katie was there.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
I'm sure y'all will do that again because we're falling
and got a connection.

Speaker 6 (25:17):
A lot of people don't even have Jason stories. At
least you got one, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
It just I didn't want to say that it's a
jay Z story, so.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
You'll never try it again. If you see him somewhere,
you gotta be different circumstances, y'all walking by each other
in the hall stopping him, even with the same security guard.
If you see the.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
Guard stopping listen out, remember this.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
To my house while you being warried to me.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
Well, let's get into it more. Question about the label?
Our label is still important?

Speaker 1 (25:47):
Labels?

Speaker 3 (25:48):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (25:48):
What you mean?

Speaker 3 (25:49):
Are they just important for artists nowadays?

Speaker 4 (25:52):
I don't know, because you're trying to go in the
direction of being an independent artist and stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Whatever suit you.

Speaker 4 (25:59):
If you, if you got to dry to do everything
on your own, didn't do everything on own. We're not
knocking you. Go get that money, do everything you need
to do. But some people need to be told what
to do, you know what I'm saying. Some people need directions,
some people need a team, different ideas. They're not as
creative as you know what I'm saying that, yeah, or
you know what I'm saying, So whatever works for you.

(26:19):
I see people talking about being an independent artist, but
they're not telling you. It's a lot of work to
come in that, you know. So if you don't have
the work ethic to do everything I own, I don't
even try. It's gonna be sitting in the room looking
stupid talking about you.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
An independent artist ain't gonna work for you. So whatever
worked for you.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
Did you ever try to highlight future he you to?
You know you that future before?

Speaker 1 (26:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (26:41):
For sure playing with you.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
I don't be getting blade. That's why I don't. I
don't think.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
I don't think I'm don't have a dance blaze blade. Yeah,
I don't be getting blazed, Like, I don't really put
myself out there to be rejected.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
Like, so how long do you Jesus that before after
he put you on the playlist.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
This one.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
I came and saw your okay, see it on my
face and breakfast j just blazed me.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
Wow, I feel like I feel like I need to pause.
That did just blaze?

Speaker 1 (27:19):
Men.

Speaker 4 (27:22):
Ever since you've been watching too much Cam and Mace bro.

Speaker 5 (27:28):
He he been, he was locked into the did he try?

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Ever since the baby he's been real kinky last couple
of days.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
But not true. That's true.

Speaker 5 (27:36):
He was born this way.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
Let's get into a jow. But you were here, Wavy
Navy universe, okay with VS.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
