Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's your boy nephew, Timmy, and you are riding with
the one and only the Steve Harvey on the show.
But guess whatever now, I mean, I jump in here
and I pumped the brakes on the show and we
drop in a little bit of what I call time
and time. Yeah, well, we talked to regular people that
are doing extraordinary things. We got on the line right now,
the one and only everybody. I'm good man. So you

(00:23):
are a wine expert, okay, so let's talk because let
me tell you something, I am a wine connoisseur. So
nothing wrong with an expert and a connoisseur getting together.
So here we go. Let's let's talk wine man. How
do you acquire your taste? How does that happen? And

(00:46):
I'll say this, I'm a Pinot grieged your guy. But
every now and then my wife is now trying to
pull me to the reds and I'm like, I don't
want the red. It's so it's not you know what,
you know what? Okay, as a black man, the red
is not cold. I'm just being real with you. As

(01:07):
a black man, we want some cold, you know, And
I like a nice cold Pinot Gris. But don't get
me wrong, He's turned me onto some reds that I've
been like, this is good, and then I do the
black thing? Can I put somebody see it? And that's
that's the worst thing, right my wife. My wife was like,
you have lost your mind, So take me if you can't, Corey,

(01:29):
how do I get to the red and make that work?
Or show me how everybody has a different acquired taste exactly. So,
So to answer that first question, to make that transition
from let's say the nice, chilled, crisp whites with a
little bit of sweetness to a dry red, what you

(01:49):
wanna do? You want to be able to pair a
nice let's say, key bone steak or nice ribb i
and try a great Tabernet savogno red because the fat
from that grief in that steak is going to pair
beautifully with the tannins of that red wine, and it's

(02:11):
gonna be even better at room temperature. So to make
that transition from something chilly, sweet and crisp to something
room temperature but delectable with some tannins and a slight dryness,
you've got to pare it correctly. And the best thing
to do is to pair it. Let's say with the steak.
When I talk to individuals that asked me the same questions,

(02:34):
because you know, they want to be able to say, pory,
these are my taste. And I said, well, that's wonderful.
But there's a whole collected brand and other wines out
there that you haven't tried that you will love, but
you have to be able to pair it initially. Okay,
let's do this cory, because we don't know this. If
we're eating red meat, if we're eating steaks, what kind

(02:55):
of wine are you supposed to have with a steaks? First?
Want to come out and say there are no rules
to the game. First and foremost, there are no rules.
There's no rules. But if I'm ordering a steak, what
do you suggest? Well, what I would suggest is is
that go on what let's say the average person might like.

(03:15):
So a dry, hearty, bold, full body red goes wonderfully
with meat that's greasy and that has that nice salty
seasoning to it. Okay, so if you're gonna have that nice,
well seasoned rib and I'm talking about a blacking in ribby,

(03:39):
that's what I'm talking That's that's right. Let's talk about
that well done, riby. Okay, that well riff. It's gonna
go wonderfully with something bold, full bodied, high tannins. So
we're gonna go towards a Cabernet Saugognon, going to go
to a merlottle blend of merlotle. I like that. Do

(04:00):
this now, let's say we have the grilled salmon. Yes, okay,
take me with the grilled salmon. What would be your suggestions?
My suggestion with the grilled salmon would be that the
nice mediumly oak chardonnay, because what's that's gonna do. That's
gonna bring out the lightness and the seasoning in the fish. Okay,

(04:22):
but I can go a step further and tell you
about a red that will also go beautifully with that
salmon called the Bogelais, which is a lighter red and
you can even chill it slightly, because that's what they
do in the South of France. Hold on is red
and we can chill it. You got black people, You

(04:46):
got black people, Okay, look, look, okay, let's let's okay.
You have a book called easy Wine. Is that a
way of educating people about wine? It is wine on
one in a fifteen minute read. I love it because
I had all my friends you know once they once

(05:07):
I started my own wine company, and they would see
my wine on the shelf. They said, Corey, what one
should I drink? I see your wines here, but there's
so many. What do I do? So? I said, you
know what, I'm going to write a book to answer
all of their questions. And when they go to wineries
in either let's say, southern California or in Long Island,
in New York, or in New Jersey, They're able to
read my book in fifteen minutes and go in that

(05:29):
winery and you know what they want exactly. That's what
I'm talking about. How do we get this book? We
sell it at Amazon, we sell it at all your
major retailers, and it's also at Bonds and Nobles as well.
There we go. That's what I'm talking about. You're talking
to the one and only Corey say the last name. Body.
Just think of your body, Corey Body, Get me body,

(05:51):
Get me body, Corey Body, Baby, the one and only
get this book. It's called easy Wine. That's easy wine.
That is so um of American wine society. You know
exactly what you're drinking. It's easy wine by Corey. Buddy, Corey,
I want to appreciate you, thank you man for coming
on the show. Bro appreciate it, all right, brother, I
appreciate it. This is and Steve Harvey morning. So but

(06:13):
we just hit our brakes for a minute to do
a little bit of what time and time? That's right,
it's time and time. Yeah yea
