Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, welcome in everybody, It's the After Show Justin Winnie.
And before we turned the mics on and started recording
this podcast, when he was editing the video that's going
to go up today, and it is a complete embarrassment.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
On my part.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
Oh my god, it's so funny if.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
You missed the are you smarter than a celebrity game?
Speaker 1 (00:18):
At the very end, when Lisa gave me a complete softball,
she asked me, uh, basically something about.
Speaker 4 (00:24):
Peruv half Peru father was born and raised me.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Right in my grandmother who was right down the street,
and not not. I didn't just get the answer wrong.
I did. I was so confident that I gave a
whole talk up, which you'll see in the video.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
And then I got it.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Wrong about my family and like, how ashamed they will
be if I didn't know this, and thank can't hear?
I know, I know, I know my dad will have
to write it on a whiteboard like your grandson.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Shameful, shame.
Speaker 5 (00:56):
Billy and Lisa in the Morning present a behind the
scenes look into Boston's favorite morning show.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
That's a little too much information, say, guys. The After
Show podcast. Here's Justin, Hey, Justin.
Speaker 5 (01:09):
I don't know if you get all the talkbacks, but
hopefully you'll get this. I just listened to the after
show podcast. I'm a regular listener, and I was so
happy to turn on and just immediately hear your voice
start talking, no commercials to start off, nothing else, just
like it's out of your voice right into it. I
also won the tickets to Sabrina Carpenter, and I'm super excited.
(01:32):
I don't know if you guys are going to the show,
but I'm piked.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Bye, I wish I was going on the show.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Wait, so did the commercial thing get.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Fixed or did she buy but not no commercials?
Speaker 1 (01:42):
I don't think she because you can pay to have
no commercials. But we've been having an issue with the commercials.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Wait, so I have no idea.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Oh we got to find out. I haven't gotten any
complaints in a couple of days, so free behind me.
So behind the scenes, Yeah, we talked about it. Everybody's
complaining about the commercials. They're loaded, that that's on the
iHeart app. That's not like us, do you know what
I mean? And so we've been working with Anthony our Tony,
our digital guy, and to come up with a solution.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
So he said he has an idea. That was the
last I heard last week.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
I have an idea to try to get rid of
some of them because it's making people miserable.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Oh my god, no, dream we do have commercials.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Well okay, well I don't know, let us know. But anyway,
thank you for that message. And yes I do listen
to every single talkback.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
I do.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Sometimes are you too busy you don't get to all
of them? You read all of them?
Speaker 1 (02:37):
No, see, this is what I mean about you with
the negative attitude.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Yeah, I okay. So if you look at do I
listen or read? That's a good that's a good point.
So when the talkbacks come in, there's this little icon
where I get it transcribes what they said. So, yes,
you are correct. I do I either look at or
listen to every talkback. You know what I mean, because
sometimes you know what a lot of time it is winning.
I'm looking at them while we're.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
On the air.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Yeah, you're multitasking.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
I can't.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
I can't play it because we're live. So I read
it and then if I like it, then it's weird
whole thing. But Riley's helping me behind the scenes. So
shout out to her. She's doing really good.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
Speaking of that, have you guys gotten any more local legends?
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Yeah, we got a bunch yesterday. Good any good ones,
some good ones. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
It's gonna be tough to pick the local Legends thing
we announced the other day. So you basically just nominate
somebody in your life in the community, school teachers, nurses
that you know are doing great things that you want
to recognize, and we're gonna go out and meet them,
put them on the air, give them a prize. So
that's gonna be a task. It is gonna be a
task picking the winners.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
I'm excited though, to me, everybody, Oh.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but you know you're gonna feel bad.
You know, why is this one winning and not that one?
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
I know it's gonna be tough.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
It's gonna be tough.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
So I don't think we have an We don't make
the decision right, marketing does No.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
I think we do, right, we do?
Speaker 3 (03:58):
I think so if I want that responsibility, well, we're.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
The ones that are going to be rewarding. So we're
going to have to decide as a team who to choose.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Okay, yeah, that's not that they don't pick out of
a hat that seems fair.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
You know what, that's a good idea. We should pick
the ones that really stick out to us and then yeah,
like do a random pick.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Yeah, that'll be good.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
So, yeah, you can nominate someone Kiss, wantawait dot com,
slash legend, or just leave a talkback.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
Which is the easiest way to do it.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
It's the easiest way.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Riley producer Riley, who's my assistant, is rolling those in
and kind of keeping track of the names because when
you send a talkback in, you have an email and
you have.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
A phone number. Yeah, so when you leave nasty talkbacks,
I can see, we can find you, I can see
who you are.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
I'll find you.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
So anyway, really fun show today. We had the game
which we talked about. We had the age gap relationship thing,
which we talked about as well. I feel like a
lot of people have experience with that. And we had
jingle Ball tickets. The jingle Ball is just I mean,
here's the thing behind the scenes on the jingle Ball
this year. So of course you know it's our it's
a big show of the year. It's that in Kiss concert,
(05:02):
this is the big show and we want to sell
it out obviously, right, So there's a lot of not pressure,
but of course our bosses are like.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Listen, let's sell this out.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Talk about the jingle ball, which we do, but we
try to give a good mix. But when I saw
this lineup, Whinnie, I thought to myself, this thing is
gonna sell itself out.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
Oh my god, And I'm so excited because once it
sells out, we don't like Well, of course we'll still
obviously promote it and talk about it, but they're not like,
make sure you're talking about it, because I mean like
they like want us to make sure that people know it's,
you know, a thing and you should come in whatever.
But it sells itself, you don't. We don't have to
work that.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Hard, especially this year. I know it's sold out last year.
It's gonna it's gonna.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
Sells out every year just because like we we put
on such a great show. Not not us specifically, but
like our team. But like when you have a line
and I always say, every year, even when I think
I don't like the lineup, you know, I'll go to
the show and I'll be what a fucking great show
that was. Every it doesn't matter. It's just one fun
night of music and entertainment. You don't need to like
know every song or be obsessed with artists that's there
(06:01):
to have a good time.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
But I feel like this year you're gonna know every
song from every artist.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
So if I'm not, if I'm correct, didn't two years
ago we had Tate and kid Leroy there together.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
Yeah, separately, yep, obviously.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
I mean, like you know what I mean, Like now
they're dating. They weren't dating at the time. No, we
had both of them and we have so we've who
else have did we have?
Speaker 5 (06:20):
We had?
Speaker 3 (06:20):
We haven't had twenty one PILG.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
I don't know if they've done jingle Ball. Yeah, we've
had everyone. We've had Sabrina, We've had we had says.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
We got Sabrina right before she blew up.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Well she she went from the tailor tour to jingle
Ball and then just exploded.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
So that's good.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
But I got to give a shout out to our buddy,
my buddy, our buddy.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Nobody cares. Anthony.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Yeah, yeah, he came in.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
He came in right right. He's huge on TikTok and
on Instagram. He started with the Facebook groups and now
he does. Do you follow him? No, you should follow him.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
It's funny.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
He does this thing now where it's uh, you know,
misspelled labels and misspelled signs that are really funny.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
But he's just a funny dude. He's from the K
and so he DM me recovery too.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
He's in recovery. Yeah, he's in recovery. But he quit
his job to do social full time.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
Is it working out for him?
Speaker 4 (07:08):
My home?
Speaker 2 (07:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (07:09):
What did he do for work before?
Speaker 2 (07:10):
His dad owns a jewelry store? Oh?
Speaker 1 (07:13):
Oh sorry, his dad owned a jewelry store, so he's
worked there on and off his whole life.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
But he worked in recovery. So he worked helping helping addicts,
which is amazing.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
But he ended up leaving that because there was he
had to dedicate so much time to the social media.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
To social media, it's a full time job. Yeah. I
mean I think he was probably making like, I don't know,
ten grand a month.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Oh oh yeah, okay, it's enough to quit a job. Well,
he was probably making decent money when he was doing.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Yeah, anyway, that's six figures right there.
Speaker 5 (07:42):
Though.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
I know he dm me and uh, he goes dude, listen,
you know the jingle ball. He's like, you know my uh,
you know, I want to get him for somebody as
a gift, but is there a secret to getting them whatever?
And so I mentioned in them back and I'm like, dude,
listen because mine are already spoken for.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
So I'm like, listen, I would just give them to you.
I'm like, but you know this thing, you're a little
bit late on that.
Speaker 5 (08:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
So I told him, well, capital one. I said, that's
your best shot if you have a Capital one card.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
He says, I do. Boom. That's good.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
So then he texted me yesterday at like ten thirty
and he goes, he sends me the screenshot that he
got tickets. Oh awesome, and then he wrote that experience
was so stressful.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
It's really good. And then you know.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
He was talking. I said, oh that, I'm so happy
for you. I'm so happy for the person you got
them for.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
A girl.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
I think it's his kid's mother, actually his BM. Yeah,
And so they're not I don't think that's together, but
they're friends. And so he said, she's a she's a ridiculous,
ridiculously massive fan of all you guys. When I told
her I messaged you about the ticket. She reacted like
you were justin Bieber. We go, Hey, we go. That's
(08:52):
really funny.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
So shout out to Nobody Cares Anthony if you don't
follow him, his instagram is Nobody Cares Anthony. So that's
good Whennie. I think that's about it for today. I
don't have any big plans. It's leg Day.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
It's Wednesday. I did day yesterday.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Yep, today's leg Day.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
I'll be at the gym with Zeb working out, and
that's about it. You know, I have a pretty easy
going life. So uh yeah, tomorrow we will be on
Billy's not here Friday.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
I'm gonna miss that.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Yeah, so we'll have Mikey coming in and kind of
just filling that fourth mic role. But yeah, Billy be
gone for six shows, so we're gonna do our best
without our fearless leader. But we have one more show
tomorrow with Uncle Bill before he leaves for Africa, so
we will talk tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
See Yeah,
