Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, Whinnie. So we've had four days off of
no after show, no show, so we're we're we're fresh,
and we've got some rest. So this is going to
be one of the best after show podcasts of all time. Okay,
not really, it'll be just like all the rest. Yeah,
but in my head it's going to be something fucking magna.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Will you help me since I'm filling in for Riley's
because she's out today? Uh, first, first few hours, what's
what was like a stick out, standout thing?

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Are you really doing this? This is isn't about your
stupid podcast. It's about the after show podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
The people that are listening to this afterho podcast are
listening to our other podcasts.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
I'm doing it for them, Okay, so take it back.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
I like how producer Riley's out who does the podcast,
so when he had to do it, and then I
made like a comment to Whinning about the podcast, and
she goes, I did it for seven years. I did.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
The podcast actually end up being six because Riley's been
in for about a year and we all know that
our last assist isn't didn't do shit, So I still
did it.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
So I did. I did the podcast it's like Muslim,
it's like riding and a bike.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
I haven't. Every time I go back to edit it,
I just remember how to do it. But then I'm like, oh,
I can't do this.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
But well it's harder now because of the music. You
have to take the music.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
I did it.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
I did it, and I beeped and I also made
sure I beeped out the match game winner numbers.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
I did notice that other I'm not going to say
specific radio stations, but other radio stations still have some
music in Really.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
They don't like it as much.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Well they're on us because I think it's more we
have a wider audience, so you know, and really we've
explained this before. You know, if we play, say we
play a Morgan Wallen song, chances are that Morgan Wallen
is not going to come for the podcast and sue.
But it's the other songs of people that you know,
maybe they had a song and twenty years ago, you

(01:46):
know what I mean, and they're not in the linemen anymore,
and they have their lawyers scour the internet for podcasts
of unauthorized use of their song because we don't have
authorization to use them. So I'm not supposed to use
any music in any podcast, and when we do this, guy,
the fucking boss of all bosses, the digital King, Anthony Alfano,
who stands It's on, who stands at a tall and

(02:10):
mighty four foot nine five three Anthony Alfano.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
The digital dork guy just walked in.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Hey, buddy, how you doing.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
I'm doing I'm doing great.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Yeah, we're doing good.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yeah, we summoned you. We were having I am having
an issue.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I need your help with my I just I did
something by myself since you know, AI is supposed to
be taking my job, but they talk and it's not stating.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
As m P. Three is that me? Can you do that?

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Yeah, I'll take a look.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Thank you so much. I love you.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
This is the compelling content that you get on the
After show, Tony. All right, get here you can only
you can only get it here. I will say, though, Anthony,
I have to give some some kudos to Winnie. I
was monitoring the kiss Instagram over the weekend and she
was doing some crazy numbers on the videos. Yeah, I
mean the Karen Read stuff is like this. This is crazy.

(03:02):
I mean thousands and up to the hundreds of thousands
of views. Ye, Winny yeah, crush you good job. Yeah,
the Karen Read thing was explosive.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Yeah, I just we had Catherine one last time, so
I just edited some stuff myself.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
We need to get some videos going for this podcast
we do.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Yeah, is that gonna happen or know?

Speaker 4 (03:20):
I can get that role in the next month.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Okay, okay, because we just need one more camera in here,
can you have camera?

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:26):
And then and then uh okay. But we have to
be careful about what what's posted obviously, because this isn't
regulated by the FCC, and you know who I work with.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
I have a question for you, Tony, So people need
to know this behind the scenes boring shit. But you know,
we are always comparing numbers of what content hits really well, right,
and I have an eye for it. I like to
think I do pretty well picking out the content that hits.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Do you feel like the.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Hip hop stations, the stations that are a little bit
more scandalous now are able to do more on social
because social stuff hits more scandalous than like what we
pret on a show that's more, you know, family friendly.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
I think it depends.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
I think you can do it right, but but I
think you nailed it as like there's an expectation with
kiss one await to be you know, there's people to
school with their kids and stuff, so like we have
a certain stand.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
So Hines's wildest catch up marketing stunt is not going
to do well. As I'm cheating on my boyfriend with ten.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Guys yeaheah, and I went to Poundtown and he caught me.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Yeah, I signed up for the Bonnie Bonnie Blue event,
right exactly.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
So even though we like have a way bigger reach, right,
we have way more eyes on that switch things, we
have to be more careful about what we're posting, which
means those like random viral moments that are like, oh
my god, it's doing so well, right, we can't really
do those because we can't post all the scandal shit we'd.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Love to post, right yeah.

Speaker 5 (04:47):
And I mean that's like the benefit and the the
challenge with having so many eyes on you, right, It's
like a lot of people hear you, but also a
lot of people hear you.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Yeah exactly, we don't have as much free will to
post the shitty like like you know stuff that like
online flu will be but this is so good content.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Yeah, Like I don't.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
I don't feel like the count the Hines catch is
our best content, right and the.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Thing is too like like I mean justin I mean
you have to understand that Winnie and I have gone
back how many years now having the same conversation. I'm sorry,
but so she was doing web articles and she started
as my intern, and she would post something and I
would just walk around.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
The other side of the cube would go, why would
you even think that was appropriate?

Speaker 1 (05:33):
But it did well though, I mean technically right.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
Yes, was it the right thing for the brand? Like
just the you know, the mom of three kids want.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
J I thrived at JAM and I went I got
to do JAM and Kiss and the Bull when we
only had three stations, I was responsible for all three.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
I thrived with JAM.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
I really did well. That's what gets That's what gets clicks,
you know. And I think about my own social media
and you know, Tony so on my Instagram, my personal Instagram,
my algorithm is completely polluted. It is so bad my
my Explore page. And it's because videos show up and
I watch them and then it just keeps going and
going going, like right now, it's like dark web muck bangs,

(06:14):
like large people eating lots of food. It's really crazy.
So how do I get rid of that? Is there
a way to reset my algorithm? You think?

Speaker 4 (06:21):
I mean they do have ways to read. Yeah, they
have way to research.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Okay, I'm gonna look that up.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
Yeah, and I think in fact, I want to say
that Adam Issari is like the head of Instagram.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
Actually I don't know.

Speaker 5 (06:33):
If he encouraged it, but he actually did a video
not too long ago, but like you can reset your algorithm.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
Yeah, and just he checks He's pretty cool because.

Speaker 5 (06:40):
He actually like checks in and he's like, hey, here's
a peek behind the curtain.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
He's what we want you to do. Here's what we
don't want you to do.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
So it's actually pretty good idea to just kind of
follow Instagram themselves and see what they post because they
kind of give you more actual.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
And I don't follow actual Instagram. Oh that's a good tip,
I know.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
Yeah, who thinks on it?

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Okay, follow them? Well they have six hundred and ninety
one million followers. Well it's crazy probably, Okay, so that's good. Okay,
because my algorithm, Tony is is really bad. But for
kiss one to wait right or any of the stations
that you manage their social jam and the bowl you
want to get in the algorithm, that's the goal. Right,

(07:21):
So you show up on people's explore pages.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
If all you're seeing is kiss one await, you do
not want to reset your algorithm.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
Right. I'm not seeing kiss one await. I'm seeing like
really messed up stuff.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
Everybody should be seeing, just kiss one on.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
No, I'm seeing the dark web stuff. Are you following
the dark web stuff? The boots? Are you following this?

Speaker 4 (07:40):
I mean, yeah, I see all this.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
Okay, Okay, did you follow that when he the boots
boots the dark web boots?

Speaker 3 (07:47):
No?

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Okay. So there's a guy, a wrestler wwe Okay, do
you follow wrestling Tony? I used to. Okay, there's a wrestler,
kind of a new guy, and he has this, uh
you know, Instagram page where he does like dark webs
to searches, and he found on the dark web a
website that sells shoes. Okay, And all these shoes are
covered in what looks like blood, and each one has

(08:09):
a name and an age. So there's a pair of boots,
a pair of sneakers covered in what looks like blood,
and it says Bill twenty three years old.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
But what if he's just a freak.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
That's like playing to freaker people, and it's like fake
blood and fake names.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Could be he ordered them, they came, he did the
luminol test blood. Okay, that's what's going on in my algorithm.
I just want you to algorithm.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
A whole lot of all the stations.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Yeah, it's just because of your job.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
So like as in like iHeart in New York, iHeart
in LA or like just like the ones here.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
It's a little bit mixed of everything.

Speaker 5 (08:45):
Definitely the iHeart definitely, you know, all of our stations
here local celebrities.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
Yeah you guys.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Oh thanks, But what what do you what do you
like in life? Like what are your hobbies? What are
your passions are you're a sports guy or you you know,
I know you're into tech, but like what's your what
do you like to do?

Speaker 5 (09:01):
So I like playing sports. I'm not so much a
watching sports guy.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
He used to be a gymnast, you know, I know,
good way back when. Yeah, he was really good.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
He could do flips and ship muscle ups and all
that stuff.

Speaker 5 (09:13):
Yeah, I mean now never mind you now forget it.
But I mean look at my so much thinner than
I used to be.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
You were bulk here.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Oh yeah, it's jack.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Oh you like coming at like one thirty five.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
No, I was like one forty fifty day. What do
you know, I'm like a hot one twenty right now.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
I haven't been one twenty since I was eight. That's crazy.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
I can't put it put it on wait if I tried.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
Yeah, but yeah, so, uh, I don't know. I just
I like, I just kind of like a little bit
of everything. I'm like a computer nerd.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (09:51):
And then also obviously and then uh, I've got three nephews.
I like playing with my nephews a little as much
as I can.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Are they younger?

Speaker 4 (09:57):
Yeah, they're to two of them three and one of
them is six.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
To your wife, Amy, what do you guys do for fun?

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Keep it clean?

Speaker 5 (10:09):
Yeah, we're kind of homebodies.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
Were like hanging out.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
But again, playing with the nephews is probably number one
in the list, especially for her. She can't get it.
I mean like me too, but like she really can't
get enough. Yeah, and then you know what binge and
TV all that stuff.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
Do you want to know the truth is Anthony's work
is his life.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
My wife puts up with a lot because I'm definitely
like a work first.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
Yeah, because you have the type of job where when
you're at home you just log in. You can always
look on your phone or your computer to check on things.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
And you know what i mean, even yesterday, so like
even yesterday or was it Saturday? Like my I got
some friends that are into that disc golfing, so like, yeah,
I entertain it. I'm terrible and I don't have I'm
not going to put the time into like ever get good,
but like they do it, so.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
I do it.

Speaker 5 (10:57):
And I mean my phone went off like four times.
Was like I need the passwords for this because you know,
you get eight stations, so there's just never constant.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
Yeah, it's constant. Wow, eight stations.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
He's great.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Anytime I hit him up, he helps me, and I'm
so spoiled. When he can't, I'm like, fuck you, Tony, really,
after all we've been through, you can't help me right now?

Speaker 1 (11:18):
With you.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Me, He's been spoiling me forever.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
I call him anytime of day, six am, six pm,
you know what I mean. On the rare chance he's
like sorry, when I'm like really, I thought I thought
we had something.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Do you want to hear it? Do you want to
hear a classic Winny story, Tony. One time she called
a former employee here who used to hold tickets. This person,
I'm not going to say who they are. Years ago,
and so she called him on the phone asked for
tickets to a show. He said, of course, I'll give
them to you. She said, thank you, and then they
went to say bye, and before when he hung up, Okay,

(11:55):
she said to the girl she was with who she
was asking, you know the tickets for there? You're happy.
I need want to call him, but I did for you,
and he heard it. Okay, Okay, I don't remember that,
but it does sound like something. Yeah, they're you're happy.
I called him. I even like calling him.

Speaker 5 (12:16):
I will say, at least when when he insults me,
it's to my face, exactly, it's frequently into my face.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Yeah, no, no fake shit here, whatever I say behind
your back face, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
You actually do. You insulted the boss one time, right
to his face, the Dylan, our boss. She said, you
think you're you know, everyone thinks you're cool. At the
you know, jingle Ball Kiss concert, She's like, yeah, you know,
you know at these shows. You know when when Dylan
comes well out and the celebrities of there, it's like, oh,
I got a picture with Dylan, like you're somebody, Like
you're you're Dylan? Like I don't know who are you?
Right to his face? I couldn't believe it know what

(12:49):
to say?

Speaker 4 (12:50):
I mean, I definitely believe that.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Yeah, there's one thing you don't have to worry about
with Whinnie. It's her talking behind your back.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
Yeah, oh yeah, I'll talk.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Right to your face. I have no problem with that. Tony,
how are you doing over?

Speaker 3 (13:01):
You get fixed it?

Speaker 4 (13:02):
I'm not yet. I'm still trying to figure out what
the heck's going?

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Yeah? What I do wrong? Because I edit it just fine.
I edited, no problem.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Yeah, I don't know why it's saving is not an
MP three, it's kind of weird.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
So Tony is the head of our digital, so he
runs all of our social So we have these meetings
every week where Tony runs over all the digital numbers.
And because nobodys no, I actually like it, like it.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
I just wait for my shout out. That's why I'm there.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
Yeah, I just like the oh kiss on eight Morning show,
killing it all.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
I do think though, that you know, as a as
a station, as a staff, we do a good job, right,
I think we do a good job.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
One of the best stations in the country easily.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
The one thing I'm kind of sad we got away from,
which I think is my own fonsility to get back to,
is that we used to do so much more non
show stuff on the page, like behind the scenes, you know,
or like we really still do that we can, but
we focus so much on branding our content. Tony will
attest to that, like, I think I've gotten away from

(14:01):
even touching the other fun stuff because it was like, well,
we want to focus on what the show's about, not
what the background's about.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
But it's about balance.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
I think, you know, it's Tony like, and I know
when he can attest to this. You know, in our
general lives, right when we're out and about somewhere and
we meet people that maybe listen to the station, listens
to our show, it's very rare that someone says, oh
my god, I love listening to your show and I
love you know, when you played the new Benson Boone song.
Although it's a music station, it's always people that say,
oh my god, I love your kids or when he

(14:32):
you know, oh, like that that breakup you went through
with that girl was terrible, you know what I mean.
It's like, those are the things that resonate with people.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
It's us.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
Yeah, so I think this we should have a good
mix of Yah.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
Yeah, I know, that's I think. I used to focus
so heavy on that. And then the thing is, I
get salty. So when you tell me not to do something,
I'm like, fuck it. I won't do it at all
if you tell me. You know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
So I haven't done.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
I don't think I ever stood to me. I didn't
say you.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
I didn't. I didn't say you. I never said you, Tony.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Somebody told you not to.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
You know, we get the t talking to about all
about us the listener, what they what's in it for them?
Making sure it's the content they want. They don't care
about what's going on behind the scenes. They don't know
any you know, they don't They're not with us, So
we don't want me too inside. And you know, we
have one hundred and seventeen thousand followers on Instagram and
we can assume maybe only twenty or thirty percent of
them really care about the morning show and what's going on.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
I'll tell you though that behind the scenes, Billy clips
always do good.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
Oh they always.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
We should bring those.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Back, I'll have to do. You know. It Actually half
his too.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Since Matt left, Billy's been so busy now in the
morning's doing everything. He used to have a little more freedom,
you know with his morning where I feel like he
wasn't as locked in, but he was more loosey goosey,
you know, he was walking around chatting. Now he comes
in here with you locks in and I don't get shipped.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Well, he has to do an entertainment report, a news
report and host.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
The show, right, And then when I come in here,
the two you look at me like, why the fuck
did I walk in?

Speaker 3 (15:50):
So I just walk out. Yeah, I go into my
little corner.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
We're in the middle of doing stuff.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Well, yeah, so I used to get gold before the show, right,
you know, and then after the show, I can't find the.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Guy, right, you know, Well, he shoots ten TV shows.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
I know he's going to Gloucester today. It's crazy, you know,
talk about our weekends at all.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
Well, because Tony came and interrupted us. We didn't invite
Tony and he just walked right in.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
I told him it the lights on coming. Anyways, this
is diear, I need this done.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
It was multitasking at its finest. He's the best, yeah,
real quick. My weekend was incredible. The birthday party was
a major success. The weather was absolutely beautiful. Everyone showed
up except for Whinnie, who blew us off with the
pizza festival. Okay, that would have been a good you know,
content capture, but it's okay, I'm sorry. The pony showed up.
We had some pony rides. It was really it was

(16:37):
really great fun. It was really great. My wife was
super happy. That's all I cared about was that she
was happy and Gemma and Jema is happy either way.
You mean, she gets barbies and she's happy. You know. So,
how was the pizza festival not worth it?

Speaker 2 (16:51):
It wasn't really worth the time. Honestly, all that talk,
all that build up the thing is half my fault
because I didn't feel like I didn't like plan as
well as I should have. Like was looking at the
vendors first, so we kind of went in there, just
started walking around, and then we got nine pizza slices,
so we obviously.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
You put down nine, No, we s.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Put them like like I would have a couple bites,
you have a couple of bites type deal or whatever.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
So how many slices did you eat? Total?

Speaker 3 (17:17):
Four? Maybe?

Speaker 2 (17:18):
Okay, I mean and some of them were like super small,
like there was only a couples that were actually serving
like full sizes that they would only spill.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
But yeah, and it was so hot, so hot, and
then I mean it.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Was like, I mean, I think, I know you're in
the scorching heat and hot pizza.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
And the line to get drinks was out of this world.
And so I'm like I just had to like like like,
let's just finish up our food and then go get drinks,
you know at Fanniel Hall. Like we just went and
got a smooth at Faniel Hall to like cool down.
So I see the pharmacists there by the way, Yeah
that was did.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
He leave a talk back about that? Oh the pharmacist
He didn't, Okay.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
He came up to me and he was like Winny
and I was like, oh hey, no, I did who
he was, and he was like and but once he
started talking to me, I like recognized his voice obviously, so.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
I'm like, oh, yeah, Steve.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
And then he said to my boyfriend, oh, you work
with her and he was like no, yeah, so and
then we met such a nice listener, Lisa.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
She was there with her three sons and two daughter
in laws. That was really nice.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
And then we went to Faniel Hall and then I
made him get on the free Encore shuttle on the
boat because I wanted to go on a boat and God.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
For Billy let me on his boat.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
That's not happening.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
He was like when he why are we doing this?
And I was like, because I want to. He was
like okay, and we just rode there twenty five minutes.
I got off, I went into Encore, got a free
water because you know, when you go and you're playing,
they think you're playing, and the money started to sat
down somewhere.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
They gave me free water and then we got back
on the.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
Boat and you didn't even play a slot.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Nope, I had no cash on me. Oh yeah, that
was it all right?

Speaker 1 (18:57):
Well we both had exciting weekends.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was a nice weekend.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
Well there you go. We have this weekend next week
and then we're off on vacation. So that's good.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
We only have four we only have nine, well yeah,
nine eight workdays left.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
Now I can't wait. Okay, I can't wait.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
What are you doing?

Speaker 1 (19:11):
We're going to Old Orcher Beach, old Oatch Beach Beach.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Fun.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Yeah, that should be fun. All right, Well, I don't know.
You just got a twenty minute podcast really about I
don't even know what. I'm sorry, and it's what's great
is that I introduced the podcast that it was going
to be this spectacular thing. But you know what, different
strokes are, different folks.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
They might really like it. They might you know what
I really want to talk about. You will never let
me talk about.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
So what.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
We can't talk about it, but it just popped in
my head.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
No idea. Oh okay, well maybe we can. We'll revisit
it tomorrow maybe because that all right? Well yeah, speaking
of tomorrow, that's when we'll talk again on the after show,
