Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, are we ready? All the headphones are plugged in.
It's okay, take your time, let me do the intro.
You talked to Riley?

Speaker 2 (00:07):
That's fine. Hello, O'reiley? How are you? Uh? Oh what
is something wrong?

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Okay? All right, welcome back. We'll catch up. It's a
secret me and producer Riley secret.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Oh you can't tell me.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Secret.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
No, it's about next week vacation. Yeah, the recording and uh,
making sure we're all set.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
You know we do plugs. You know what those are? Right?

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (00:31):
No, I have no idea what to plug.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
It's it's it's the things that run after the show
is over plugging something, whether that's the next day.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Show or the podcast or whatever.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
You know that's behind the scenes. Nobody cares about, you know. Anyway,
Welcome to the after Show. Sorry for the rough start there,
justin Winnie, thank you for tuning in. It is Thursday,
one show left until vacation.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
That's pretty exciting.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
One sleep, one sleep on sleep and.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
It's payday tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
I'm more excited for that.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
So that's good. And we get our apt to show bonus.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Yes, bitch, yeah, all whatever.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
I mean, it's not we're not going to retire off
of it. But it's a nice little bump.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
It's good for me too because we're going on vacation
so have some extra money. My wife actually picked up
a couple of shifts that are really high paying nurse
side gig two weeks ago, and so it was that
day I probably talked about it. She had to work
like Friday night and then all day Saturday. But then
she says, I said, oh really, I go all right, fine,
she goes, let make you feel better that paycheck hits

(01:32):
the friday week, go on vacation. I'm like, boom, pick
up a third day.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Yeah, yeah, no, I know. I thought about this already.
I told myself, I do have to put half in savings.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
I'm putting half in savings smart and then the rest
is whatever.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
It's smart.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
It's hard to save money, right, so that's the goal,
is to save money, especially as.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
A single person that pays all the bills by yourself.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Yeah, well, it's do you ever run into this this
thing where you save money?

Speaker 2 (01:58):
You get ahead and then something happened and you have
to pull it out.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
So when I tell you the only I make a
lot of financial sins taking from my savings I do
very rarely because it's not that big anyways. So I
tell myself I cannot touch it because there's really not.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Much any anyways. So mcgirl, there's not much.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
So what I do is I leave more in my
checking to make sure there's no issue, and then like
when towards the end of like that pay period, when
I have some money left over, I'll transfer that into
my savings.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Oh that's a good touch. It, that's a good one.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
You know, Like today this is stupid, but I put
fifty dollars into my savings because we get paid tomorrow.
So I was like, okay, I have actually fifty I
can put in, So I just put that in and
I put I think I put in fifty yesterday, like
as the end of this week was happening.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
No, and we're getting pay tomorrow, so I think currently
I have like maybe sixty dollars in my checking.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Yeah. My hack.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
I've talked about this before. I could never save money
until up maybe like five no, probably like sevent eight
years ago. Is I have it taken out two different
bank accounts. If you don't see it, you won't spend it.
So if you're trying to save money, and you at
the majority of your paycheck put into one account.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
It's harder.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
But my issue is if I don't see it in
that pay in the one account, I can't pay my bills, right.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
But you could open up another account where you get
like fifty or one hundred dollars a paycheck that goes
into that doesn't have a debit card that you'd have
to actually go to.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
I'm saying I need the money to make the pay bills.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Oh, well, like, well even dollars.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
No, yeah, no, I could do one hundred. The issue
is that first check. Although like I was able to
get ahead a little bit that I have a little
extra over.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
But last year full transparency, that check from for the
last of the month was my entire rent.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Like that was it? Like that was my rent?

Speaker 4 (03:41):
Was my check and then I just lived on like
one hundred dollars in my credit card to like got
paid to the on the fifteenth.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Well, so I needed the cash.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
You also do not have four to one K? Did
you opt out of it?

Speaker 3 (03:54):
I got to opt into it. I didn't have an like, oh,
you're in it. No I'm not. I have to opt
into it. I Oh I didn't because I didn't have.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
Any money to put in my for I one, okay,
like when I tell you my whole check, like my
whole I think it was like a fifty dollars difference
between my check and my rent.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
God, wow, you don't. You don't make a lot of money.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
And I even have expensive like like.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
It is it is fifty dollars. I can't do fifty
dollars a pay check.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
Maybe now I can because I got I just got ahead.
I was all twenty twenty four, my.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Whole thirty dollars even me a little bit. So I
do acorns too.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
But you're you're also talking, and I know you have kids,
but you're also talking. You have a two you're a
two person income, like if I had another person and
we lived off myne and said there's a vice versa
like I could do.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
I can't.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Like And because I'm a singleman, you don't want to
pay in taxes last year like twenty eight thousand dollars
in taxes or twenty seven.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Really I didn't pay that much. But I have dependence.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Yeah, you have no dependence, you know what? Have a dependent? No?

Speaker 1 (04:52):
And you get money on the taxes And I'm just saying,
like I I got six grands from my kids.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
The world is meant for two income household.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yeah it is.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
It's like a family, like a family that makes like,
you know, another one hundred thousand dollars than.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
I do with some kids, but it's still doing better.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Don't want the kids, but.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
You have to remember to run, so to run my
house a month, a mortgage and all the bills you're
looking at.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
I think we did the math. It's like fifty five hundred.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
Okay, if okay, I could do that, I've had somebody
else because my bills with it by myself to run
to run my house and all that is like thirty
two hundred.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
You know what, you need another job? You need a
second job.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Yeah, well why nanny for that? Like I've been doing
some stuff, but you.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Need you need to you need to step it up.
What do you think?

Speaker 3 (05:39):
Everyone keeps telling me to be a DJ, but my.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Brother, dude, don't be a DJ.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Rather my brother, my brother and my dad because my
brother works for our high school and they need like.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
A prom DJ.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
It pays good.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
But I'm like, I remember that goes come on and
do it, like, well, how are you obviously like they
want you to do it. I'm like, I'm a host.
I'm not a DJ. You want to host something, I'll
host it.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
I didn't like DJing, but you make good money, I know.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
But do you think I could?

Speaker 2 (06:00):
I think you could some training?

Speaker 3 (06:02):
So who you gonna train me?

Speaker 2 (06:03):
I mean I could, but you know I don't have
the equipment double.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
To get your equipment?

Speaker 2 (06:08):
No, yeah, yeah, I.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
Don't want to invest in that. I want to I
want to pull my laptop up and do that.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
No, well you need speakers. Yeah, I don't want to
do that, and those are expensive.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
I'm not buying speakers, okay, but you could end up
charging you know, on a weekend. You could take home
three grand on a weekend. You know what I mean
that you can make a lot of money. I just
didn't like it, and I didn't like them.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
I don't know. I got to figure it out. I
definitely need to do more.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
I mean my Amazon storefront, I've been making a little
body money off that, but I don't I'm not that
person that I plug things. I like, I don't plug
things to plug them. So like I get a little
something off the top, but it's not a lot.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
A little depressed by this conversation.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
It is, but because because it is what it's.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
Supposed to be, like work on the radio, you're supposed
to like have money.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
I am, but this is where we live. I would
be thriving in Idaho.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
You can move, Okay, No, seriously, you can move, like
outside of fucking Boston.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
Everyone says that I don't want to drive idea every morning.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Thirty minutes to Salem, not to say Salem, but it's
only thirty minutes. You just saying it's only thirty minutes.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
I know I would have to enhance because I lived
in Roe Island.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
The issue was I could get to Boston thirty minutes,
but was coming through Boston, I.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Don't had any traffic going north. When we do local legends,
we go through the city.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Oh, we just Central Mass. I'm like, Central Mass. What
the fuck would I do in Central Mass?

Speaker 2 (07:23):
I mean, the further you go out, the cheap of
the rest.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
But then how much I'm paying gas.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Depends on the gas prices. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
It's depressing.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
We got to change. This is the most sorry, because.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
You're asking, you're not doing enough. I don't have any
more funds, and unlike other people. I don't get eighty
seven endorsements.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Okay, well there's a shot.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Okay, even you don't have a lot, but even more
a lot more than I do in endorsements.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
I do.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
But you have to remember also that I have our
long standing so years like Chipotle have had six years,
power of recovery.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Years. I rove past control year one.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
I have the one I have nurse you in a
years because I'm good. Just I don't get any endorsements,
but when I have, when.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
I keep them.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Okay, maybe you should go home, get on your knees
and pray.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
Oh I didn't someone else on my name? No money?

Speaker 1 (08:16):
All right, one more day to go, one more after
show tomorrow and then we add a here.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
So enjoy the day. It looks nice out right now,
But wasn't it supposed to be cloudy?

Speaker 3 (08:23):
I don't know. I didn't want. I don't check them out.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Whether you live your life? Yeah, yeah, remember when he
fifty bucks?

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Okay, okay, think I'm gonna try. Yeah, no, I do.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
That is something I've been saying for twenty twenty five.
I have to just start my retirement more, be more
serious about that. But I will say, if you guys
watch my credit card series. Right now, I've been paying
off debt, so I've been throwing any extra money I
have at that, which I'm good.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
That's what I want to do with my money right now.
I want to get rid of the debt I have.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Okay, you want to leave us with a positive thought,
not something positive in your life.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
Something it's almost Friday, going going on vacation, yes, yeah,
to spend money.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Yeah, to spend money and no retirement fuck that.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
I know I could die before I.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Retire, right Well, that's one way to think.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
But I have this weekend.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Yeah, but you don't want to listen. I'm telling you.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Like my mother in law, she wants to quit her
job because she's close to retirement, so she wants to retire,
but she doesn't have anything.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Well I would.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
I would like to think I'm half your mother in
law's age that within the next few years I will
probably hopefully find a spouse. We can start our life
together and get our finances in order. And maybe he's
more he or she, well, probably he is more financially
stable than I.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
Not stable, just savvy.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
You know what. Maybe it's the guy you're going to
Dallas with. It could happen next week,
