Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning for one hundred point three wn I c
which eight towers, Allison and Chelsea. It is Monday, September
twenty third.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Already, welcome September twenty third. That might be the first
day of fall.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
I thought it was yesterday, the first day of fall.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Oh it's now, it's around now, twenty one, twenty three.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
It's one of those days.
Speaker 4 (00:23):
Okay, Well, trying to look, I'm pretty sure I think
it was yesterday.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
Oh all right.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Well, anyway, it feels a little more like Faul this week. No,
it's weird. We don't have Alan anymore on Monday and Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
I know.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
Yeah, he's got to work that out because it's just
not right.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
I like this new Alan Long Street schedule. And I
wasn't here Wednesday through Friday last week. I hadn't seen
him in like over a week.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
I know you were right.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
It was yesterday, yesterday coming up on the show today.
I've got lots of stories to tell you about New York.
Speaker 5 (00:57):
All yeah, I.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Mean this whole show. There's so many things you have
to tell us.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Yeah, it will probably take because I have a couple
of things that we could talk about. But I don't
know that we'll get to them by even Wednesday. There
has to be so many things for you to tell us,
you know, Yeah, but don't leave anything out.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
So we have been back here super jealous.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Oh well, you just just always remember this. What you
see on social media is a snapshot of a good moment,
and what you don't see is like everything that it
took to get to the moment.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
But like the iheartbuilding.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Wow, oh that was fun.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
We want to go there.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Allison could not stop talking about that.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Look at that building.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
You know what my regret was about that I should
wish I should have just I should have did the
show with you those days. I would have had to
get up early early, which I kind of would have
sucked about it. I mean, but I but like the
facility there, would have used it. It would have been
so easy. I could have been on a camera. I
could have saw you guys, and we could have just
you know, could have done that.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
You had your hands bull But.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
But yeah, we'll talk about that. I really want to
tell you about what a red Carbet experience is like
in a way that we don't know because we watched
them so often and and just people watching is the
greatest thing to do that was fun on Wednesday night
in New York. Yeah, I'll talk a little bit. I
(02:22):
don't know, Maybe it's just something that's a tomorrow thing
I just had. I think I had a bad experience
at a hotel in Philadelphia. I want to tell you
about that. Although it was a great evening experience. There's
a lot going on today in the fact that we
have Nick Carter tickets, we have Megan Trainer tickets. Teacher
the Week is back today. That's incredible battle and anything
else you guys want to talk about. I mean, we'll
(02:43):
be jam packed today, jam packed, jam packed, thrilled, and
we're getting up to seventy two today with rain perfect.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
So here we go thick weather.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Here we go to trap Jake Towers in the morning
on demand.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Here's the Hot would Minute with Chelsea Keag and.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Michael Key and Jordan Peel do not see each other
as often as you would think, and Keegan calls it
a tragedy, but says that their lives have evolved and
moved in different creative directions. Uh, it sounds like there's
no like bad blood or beef or anything.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
They're just both busy guys. Now I'm not.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Surprised by that, just because people had a partnership and
did something together like I don't. I don't think the
people in Seinfeld see each other that.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
No, no, you know what it is though. We want
that like fans, we can see that because in our
in our mind, they're always going to be together as
that is right.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
Millie Bobby Brown and her husband Jake reportedly had a
second wedding in Italy over the weekend.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
They're settle down. Their first one was in.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
May and it was a little more low key and smaller,
and they knew that they were going to be having
this other wedding. They booked a major British singer to
perform at the wedding.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
I don't know who that is, but they say they
can go so far as to say a major. Okay,
that's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Just leave that out when you tell us that story.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Yeah, if you don't want us to know, then just
don't tell us anything.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
Guests included Jake and Milly's friends, including her Stranger Things castmates.
The iHeartRadio Music Festival was over the weekend. You could
have heard it on any of our iHeart stations or
it was streaming on.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Hulu, did you nice?
Speaker 4 (04:32):
Chris Martin performed yellow and I mean he never misses no.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
No, can I ask what was in the background.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
All I know is I thought it added to the song.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
I got a lot of button press buttons around.
Speaker 5 (05:05):
Well, Jay, this one's for you.
Speaker 4 (05:07):
Dalipa performed as well. This is her song training season.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
All right, here's a little bit of da. All those
dancers she have, they're all in Unison's wild. I always
say she's an effortless dancer. I mean she just looks
like dancing is like fifth on the list and.
Speaker 6 (05:32):
Just fluid, Yeah, fluid correct.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
I also thought that she kind of sounded a tablet
like Miley cyrus in that well, just just the like
gravelly tone a little bit, I don't know. And finally,
Kim Kardashian went in person to discuss prison reform with
a group of forty inmates, including Eric and Lyle Menendez.
The group talked about criminal justice reform initiatives, including green Space,
(05:59):
which is are is in yard beautification project that's led
by Lyle.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Now.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
This meeting comes after Eric recently criticized Ryan Murphy's Netflix series,
calling it an inaccurate portrayal of their lives and the
abuse they endured.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Have you guys watched that yet?
Speaker 2 (06:15):
I thought about it because you know when something's new
on Netflix.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
It's the backdrop.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Yeah, so I thought about it, and it also I
was trying to remember if they were still in prison,
they if they had gotten life sentences.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
I find I found the trailer to be so disturbing.
I was to watch that TV tonight.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
We have the voice and brilliant minds.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
All right, Chelsea, thanks so much. Good morning from one
hundred point three. W N I see BacT from New York.
What a whirlwind. Tell you a couple of things that
I got to experience, and well, boy, you can feel
pretty low in the world of famous people when there's
so many of them standing around talking to each other.
(06:59):
I'll explain coming up. So back from New York, So
just a quick recap. I went to New York for
the Superman the Christopher Reeves Story documentary film that came
out on this past Saturday. It's in theaters again on
(07:19):
Wednesday through Fathom And I knew and I told you
guys that I was going to New York initially for
Thursday Night, which was the Christopher Dana Reeve Foundation was
having a benefit screening of the film with people that
have paid five hundred dollars a ticket to donate to
the foundation and see it before anybody else saw it.
So that's really why I was there. And I did
(07:40):
their social media takeover and I was on you know,
their social and did interviews with people that night. But
kind of last minute, I got invited to the red
carpet screening the premiere, the New York premiere of this documentary,
which happened on Wednesday night.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
By the way, it is the only place you can
see it in theaters right now, Yes.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
Place, it is in theaters. So I So Sarah Douglass,
the actress that played Ursa and Superman and Superman too,
and she was on Falcon Crest and all these v
and and all these other things, the Christmas prints on Netflix.
She flew in from London and she visited one of
her friends, the guy that plays Bosh. There's a TV
show called Bosh. Yeah, yeah, that's one of her best friends.
(08:23):
Think that chows on. It's like tenth season. Okay, So
she saw him and then I went and had a
nice slice of raise pizza.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
Oh I saw that. You saw that that looked fantastic.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
We had I invented a word that's like fomo, but
I think it's somo. It was it's like, sorry, we
missed it, so you.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
Got to work on your But we had a lot
of that. We were like, oh my god, we want
to do that and that.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
So we So the screening was at the Museum of
Modern Art. Every calls MoMA. Yeah. Everybody's like, I'm like, hey,
how do I get into the music? They're like, MoMA, okay, yeah, yeah,
So how do I get to MoMA? So I looked
at the thing on my phone. I said to Sarah Douglas.
Of course, So I say to her, hey, listen, I'm
(09:17):
not going to get us a car to go there.
It is two blocks and it would take longer for
the car to turn around and get on the right block.
And she agreed. We walked and it was it was
real brisk fast. We were there and she was It.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
Didn't look like she was in heels. I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
No, she's done a billion red carpets and now she's
like she she treated she you know, goes as a
rock star. So I love it. So it was easy
to get over there. I was in my suit and
we get to MoMA and there are two lines. There's
like the line of people that I don't know who
they are, and then there's the the VIP you're a
celebrity red carpet check in, so that's it wasn't really her.
(09:56):
So when you are supposed to be there, there there
is no faltering. They know, like immediately you walk up
and you give your name and why. One girl is
flipping through a page that has squares of faces and
names on it so she can look at what you
look like. Another headset girl was like, hello, miss Douglas,
(10:17):
come with us, and then and and me and I
walk with Sarah and they immediately you just blow past everybody.
You go down and escalator and they take you to
this little hallway before this red carpet, and so I go, okay.
So we get down there. Now Sarah is asking me
questions that you know, I don't know how to answer.
(10:38):
She's like, should this should be tucked here? Should I
do I don't know? She goes, well, what about my hair?
Like I don't know, I don't know. I don't know,
I don't know if that shirt supposed to be tucked
in the front or out, and I said, I don't know, well,
who goes to a red carbo so it doesn't know how.
I'm like, I'm not a handler.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
I think you look fine.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
I'm your date, right.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
So we're standing there in the pre area, and we
were there early, like we got there. Red carpet started
at seven. Movies started at eight, and I was afraid
if we got there late there'd be a line. So
we were there like seven oh five. So Red carpet
was pretty light at that moment. So standing to go
on the red carpet was Will Reeve, who is Christopher
reevesn obviously, and Matthew his two sons. Will is on
(11:21):
Good Morning America and is an ABC correspondent's h So
he's sitting there. These guys, the Reeve family is all
like nine foot twelve. I mean they're I mean, they're
so tall. I'm not joking, they're really really tall. Yeah,
and you're standing there and Sarah. Sarah was kind of
like she's like, I was like, you know me, I
(11:42):
wouldn't go up and say anything. I never would, but
she's like, I should say something. I was on screen
with their father. I'm like, okay, just goes up and
introduces herself. They immediately know who she is. Nice, nice, nice,
And then she's standing there ready to go, and this
handler comes and takes her purse and all this other stuff,
and I'm just I have my phone to make some
video of her or whatever, and I'll take you know,
I'll take pictures of you because I'm not gonna go
(12:04):
on the red carpet whether her like she should do that,
and I'm just standing off to the side. So they
kept having people go in front of her, and she's like,
very English and just gets bothered. She's like, well, I
wait for this person. Well I wait for that person.
I'm like, well, that's Diane Sawyer. So Diane Sawyer. Sarah's
gonna go.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Yeah, she doesn't care.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
She's like uh huh, all right. And then I'm like,
well who's that. Oh that's Caitlyn Collins from CNN. I'm
like okay. So then she's walking and then they go, okay,
miss Douglas, you're ready for you. And we walk out
there and the paparazzi people are taking pictures of her,
and the one guy goes, now, who is this And
I feel I'm the handler, I said Sarah Douglas Superman
and Superman two, and all of a sudden, a ten
(12:49):
thousand they were like Sarah this, and she had this
whole huge red carpet moment connected with everybody like, oh
my gosh, she's like one of the villains from Superman.
They're taking all these pictures in the left and the
right and all this and getting her to laugh, and
it's a whole thing to watch, and there's people are
lining up. So then it's time for her to like
she's ready to move on and move on. So then
(13:11):
she's like waving at me, like let's go, and I
come over, and then she goes and I brought a
boy toy with me and then like ching ching, ching ching,
and they all start taking a thousand pictures again to
me this this chunky fat boy toy allegedly.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
Did you see the pictures?
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Yeah, it was on the aps.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
You made the ap look at that? Can you send
us that picture?
Speaker 1 (13:36):
Like, I didn't see that.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
I didn't see you post that picture.
Speaker 7 (13:40):
No, I didn't look an I'll send it to you
so so we can get.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
Down the red carpet. And she's like you want to
go sit down? Yes, we'll go sit down and we
get into the theater and I'm fine people watching and
I'm just gonna watch people come in because you know,
like George Stepanopholis come in. And then that was Willy
Willy Geist. Willy Geist walks in, and then Michael Strahan
(14:07):
walks out.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
So if you're on ABC, Robin Roberts walks.
Speaker 7 (14:11):
In all of Will Reeves's cos I left off telling
you that we went into this theater and it was
not don't think of imagine like monster theater.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
Think of like a theater that maybe holds like that
Super Emax we've been to it. Imagine holds I think
like three hundred people. This this was like a screening
kind of maybe a hundred, like maybe a hundred people.
So if you were in that room, you had to
be like you were supposed to be there. There was
no stragglers. Everybody in there was supposed to be there.
So we went and sat down and we were in
(14:43):
the orchestra left a row. Oh. We sat down and
I just wanted to people watch.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
And by the way, how how cool did you feel
and did you get the response for doing it? How
cool did you feel that you showed up with Sarah
Douglas pro Cure.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
Yeah, no, it special.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
The badass villain from Superman and Super two Superman two
as your date.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Well, here's why that was really special because had she
not have been with me and I just went by myself,
this never would have happened. So we're sitting there and
I'm looking and I'm like, Sarah, that's James Gunn.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
Oh we saw that picture and we died.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Yeah, I said, James Gunn is the director of the
new Superman movie and Guardians of the Galaxy, and he's
like the hottest director right now, and you know all
of that. And she she's like, oh, well, I'm gonna
go introduce me. I mean, she's like, I'm gonna go
introduce myself. I'm like, okay, you do that, we'll take
along with you. I'll take the picture.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
Because she wouldn't have done that.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Never, I would have hit under her table. So she
so she walks over. She goes, hello, James, I'm Sarah,
I mean, and he interrupts her and he's like, no way,
this is so cool. And I'm like, can I take
a picture of you two? And then they're just taking
pictures and they're they're they're having pleasantries and she's so nice.
She's like she knows i'm mcgeek. So she's like, and
this is my friend Jay, And I'm like, I interviewed
(16:11):
your brother and he's like great, I'm like, interviewed your
brother MotorCity comic kind of interviewed you brother. The other gun,
the other gun.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
Oh my gosh, this is like an episode of.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Chris Farley Show.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Yes, remember that one time when you did that one movie.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
So then so then she takes that picture, then we
go back, go back and sit down, and then who
walks in next but David Cornsweat, who is the new
Superman who was just in Twisters Chelse was he on?
Speaker 4 (16:47):
I don't know what else he was in, but he
was just shooting in Ohio, right, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
So he comes in with his wife and they sit
like two rows in front of us and across the aisle.
So they're like right there. So Sarah is like, I'm like,
that's the new Superman as well, should I say hello?
I'm like, go say hello because I would never go
up to that guy either with that would be in here.
So she goes up introduce him. He's like, what an
honor is to meet you. I go to take the
(17:12):
picture and it's right as they flash all the lights
down to tell you what the movie's about to start.
And then I go to take it again and they
do it a second time, and I'm like, this is
a conspiracy. So then she so then he says as
soon as the movie's over, let's do this again, like okay,
so you know that, like.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
It's never gonna happen, like we're just gonna assume.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
So then somebody sits in front of me and I'm like,
at least this guy's a little on the shorter sign,
so I'm not gonna have any problem saying a little,
you know, gray haired guy. It was Wolf Flitzer. It
was Wolf Fler.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
Oh my god. Did Sarah say, should I go introduce me?
Speaker 4 (17:47):
No?
Speaker 1 (17:48):
No, she did not that one. I introduced myself. Let
me tell you how much Wolf Wolf Blitzer cared about
meeting me. Say, mister Blitzer, I'm a big fan, goes
hi and walked away. So that was great. So then
David Muir walked in, David David Muir all arms wide, like.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
Sure, I love him all that.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
So we watched the movie Fantastic.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
Did you cry?
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Did I saw it already, so I wasn't as emotional
as when I saw it a couple of weeks ago.
But the movie was great. Sarah loved it. We get up,
we go over, we do the picture, well, you do
do it. We do the picture with David corn sweat,
and then we're walking out and at this point there's
an after party. And because you know us, me and you,
(18:38):
the three of us, we're ready. When we're done, We're done.
I'm like, these are all these are all the same
people that are gonna go. Half of these people go
to the after party. I'm tired, You're tired. And she's like, oh,
thank god, I thought you're gonna Basically, I said no,
we'll go back to the hotel and get something. But
we're walking out and she's like, I should say hi
to Susan. I'm like, okay, Scharandon.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
Was She was, oh, okay, Well, I'm glad you got
around to that.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
Yeah. Oh, here comes Susan Sarandon And you know that
point of a theater where you're walking out and you're
walking between the double doors, yes, before you get out
to the lobby area.
Speaker 5 (19:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Sarah decides to go up to talk to Susan Sarandon
in between those double doors with all the people behind them,
and they're chatting it up with each other and blocking everything,
and they know each other. I guess Hollywood knows Hollywood, right,
I don't know. And they're chatting up. I'm like, let
me take a picture. And that actually came out pretty good.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
I didn't see that one.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
And then we ended up walking out with Susan Sarandon.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
Oh my god, this is just insane.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
It's insane.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
It's insane.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
By the time we got outside, that David cornsweat was
like on the street corner with paparazzi taking ten billion
pictures of him. And we walked back and talked about
what a great experience it was, and that was it.
Had a little dinner at the hotel. I was in
bed by eleven thirty.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
You know what, you didn't need the after party.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
You had every single good exc experience there that I
think you were gonna have.
Speaker 3 (20:03):
I just wonder if you had gone to the after party,
which of course you wouldn't have.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
We get that, but would you have gotten a role
from James Gunn in some upcoming movie?
Speaker 1 (20:12):
You know what, I don't think so I don't think so,
but I will.
Speaker 4 (20:15):
After all the brother comments that you kept making.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
Brother, Oh my guys, it's not that bad. So embarrassing that.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
And there's a quarter of one day things I did.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
Just tell me, you guys have some good news.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
Feeling good in the DA one hundred point three wni
C brought to you by Michigan Lottery, Detroit Lions, Pool
tab and online instant games. Here's your feeling good today.
This will make you all warm inside. I believe this
is our fourteenth year for Teacher of the Week. I
think so. I think it's our fourteenth year. I think
(20:54):
it started in twenty ten, So fourteenth year for Teacher
of the Week. This is an opportunity for us to
honor teachers that we love around Metro Detroit. The only
way to nominate a Teacher of the Week is for
you to nominate the teacher. And you to nominate a teacher,
you have to have a child with the teacher. That's all.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
I've already had people texting me and asking like when
is this going live? We love our child's teacher already, right,
we want to be able to celebrate them.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
So yeah, So you.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Go to wnic dot com and you tell us about
your child's teacher and why they deserve to be Teacher
of the Week. We go out there with the plaque,
we go out there with a Kroger gift card, and
we get you, you know, something real nice for being
a great teacher in Metro Detroit. It is a recognition
program that's been going on a really long time. So
for as long as this has been going on, think
about it, there's only a certain number of those plaques
(21:43):
in classrooms if you're a teacher of the week, and we.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
Know how underappreciated and underpaid and under everything our teachers are,
so it's a nice little.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
You know.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
They everyone who's ever received the recognition has always.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
Been super excited about it. It's a big deal for them.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
We love it. So Teacher of the Week with one
under point three wn I see is back Go to
w NIC dot com. I hope everybody enjoyed the iHeart

and it's very very close with Chris Conley, our boss Chris.
Oh yeah, Chris Conley walks around our boss. Chris in
(22:47):
New York is like everything you want in the Boss
because he's so relaxed. He's just relaxed. As I said, hey,
can we say out to Elvis? He goes, yeah, I
got to figure out how to get down to that studio,
like you weren't here.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
I know. So what what building in New York? Is
it in just I mean a random skyscraper?
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Yeah, you'd ask me that it is in. It's in
a high building. Yeah, and it's across the street from
my hotel. But in Manhattan?
Speaker 2 (23:12):
Yeah, is it X amount of floors or a floor
or what floor?
Speaker 1 (23:16):
I don't know. I think we're on We're around like
a thirty fourish maybe okay.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
Oh yeah, hu and have the whole floor.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
Yeah. But those our big, big iHeart bosses. Were all
in Vegas. They were all on the way of the
iHeartRadio Music Festival. But like, you know, just a lot
of like it was cool just to walk around and
see that very good vibe.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
No, all the pictures you took, you were like in
some neon tunnel and some glass hallway and it was like, wow,
that is a fancy building. Of course it would be
in New York's.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
And then our boss Chris about had enough of the
tour and he's like, how about some breakfast? And then
by the second time he said how about some breakfast,
I'm like, yes, we can, we can go to breakfast.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
Well eat breakfast?
Speaker 8 (23:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (23:53):
Did he say hi Chelsea and Allison?
Speaker 1 (23:55):
Oh yeah, we had a whole conversation about you too.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Oh did you or are you just saying that jamakeas.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
No, we had a whole conversation about you too. It
was a good one.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
Oh okay, because and then I wondered was it a
good one?
Speaker 4 (24:08):
The story is this she has created in her head
the past couple of days about what you two could
have possibly talked about.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
I wish you could hear them.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
Huh, it's all good, okay, that's all good, good good.
I was more excited about the truffle eggs Benedict I
had at the place he took me.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
Absolutely, my goodness, can we do a break about that? School?
Speaker 1 (24:39):
Back into town? School, back to school, back into town.
Speaker 7 (24:45):
What we're gonna do right here is go back.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
Back in the day. Is brought to you by Tubby
Subshop one hundred and forty five years ago. In eighteen
seventy nine, Richard Rhodes patented the first hearing aid. The
device looked like a fan and it was held against
your teeth.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
That's probably why my grandma refuses to get hearing aids.
She still thinks they operate like that. Can I just
tell you, honestly, I can't figure out any other reason
why hearing AIGs.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
Now you can't even barely see I know. And my agent, Glenn,
who was in my agent for as long as I've
been around, just just got them. And I didn't even
realize it until he told me. The only giveaway was
we weren't allowed to sit under the speaker in the restaurant.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
Oh, because I amplify it right right?
Speaker 5 (25:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
Well, according to my grandma, all of her friends have
had them and they hated them, so she's not even
going to give it a shot.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
Well she should get she should give it a shot.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
Like, well, Grammy, you can't hear anything, so won't that
be better than nothing?
Speaker 1 (25:42):
Thirty years ago, in nineteen ninety four, The Shawshank Redemption
was released. A fantastic news as.
Speaker 7 (25:47):
It comes down with a simple choice, really.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
Living good, very good.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Twenty one years ago, in two thousand and three, n
Cis premiered. That's a Is that still long?
Speaker 4 (26:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (26:05):
I was just telling Chelsea last week because it's a
show she watches, and it's one I watched the spinoffs.
I watch n C I s l A and n
CIS New Orleans and I love them. And I just
recently was able to make a connection with the original.
I'm I'm doing the treadmill, so I'll turn the TV
on and it was n CIS Sunday and I was
finally able to make a connection.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
But that show still is like and.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
Chelsea just told me Mark Harmon's not on it anymore,
which I don't even get how that works.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
Well, there's so many reruns you don't know what's what's happening.
Speaker 4 (26:38):
I think we need to also give a shout out
to Alison, who has been on the treadmill every day
for the past like two weeks.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
Two full weeks have been funny.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
I'm about to kick up the speed today as I
enter week three in my arm weights game because I'm
having some saggy skin issues.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I got to start here. I'm fifteen
years ago in two thousand and nine, speaking of Alice
and Martinick, one of her favorite shows debut.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
Well, well look who finally showed up.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
Maybe we can try this again in another ninety nine years.
Speaker 4 (27:14):
Actually it there'll be another total eclipse again the next.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
Seven more waunch your stupid science Alex, eleven seasons for
Modern Family.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
Yeah, that's a good show.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
And thirteen years ago in twenty eleven, the final episode
of All My Children aired on ABC. The soap opera
was on the air for forty one years. And that's
You're back in the day. I want UNDERD point three
w and I see Dearborn Detroit. Time for Hollywood Minute
with Chelse. It is brought to you by David Feminineo
Get David, Get paid.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
Lizzo clapback at an Instagram follower who suggested that she
used ozepic or cocaine to lose weight. She said she
was weight training and calorie deficit. That's what she's been doing.
She's posted some videos. She does look really good. She
looks really good. She lost a lot of weight.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (28:00):
Usher's Twitter account got wiped clean yesterday and people wondered
if it had something to do with his longtime friendship
with Diddy. Usher claims that he got hacked and that's
what happened. But I don't know if anyone's really buying that.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
I heard an Usher interview a long time ago, many
years ago, but he talked about when he was a kid,
like a little urser, he went to like P Diddy camp,
And I was just thinking about that the other day
when there's this bombshell that might be released a right,
and I.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
Was like, I really hope that Usher didn't do anything wrong.
Didn't know anything about it.
Speaker 5 (28:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
Yesterday, Olivia Munn and John mulaney shared that they welcomed
their second child, a daughter named May June Mullany, via surrogate,
on September fourteenth. Before welcoming May, Olivia had undergone a
round of egg retrieval after her double mastectomy and was
lucky enough to have had two healthy embryo The couple
(29:01):
also has their two year old son, Malcolm, so very
exciting mes for them, and finally, Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice managed to
grab the number one spot at the box office again
with twenty six million dollars. I thought, Babe, Transformers one
was going to take over. My nephew saw that over
the weekend. That came in second place though, with twenty
(29:21):
five million, and Speak No Evil came in third with
five point nine million.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
You should have heard a conversation Chelsea and I had
on the air last week about who was the bad one?
Speaker 3 (29:32):
Was it Optimus Prime? Was he good or bad?
Speaker 5 (29:35):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (29:36):
It's a riveting conversa.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
Why didn't you call her nephew? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (29:40):
If you want to listen to Friday's show, Jay all right.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Been there that right now on the AFT Radio app.
Speaker 4 (29:46):
TV today we have the voice and brilliant minds Chelsea.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
Thank you so much. Good morning from one hundred point
three WNI see how long is too long when waiting
for your hotel room? From Fox to news headlines and
a big Lions win and Allison's bubble is on the way.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
Next, wait till you hear who this famous person?
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Martha Stewart once dated and then the ridiculous reason she
broke up.
Speaker 6 (30:10):
With him.
Speaker 1 (30:23):
The bubble today.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
Uh you know, Martha Stewart used to be Uh well,
I think she's still actually very attractive, but she was
quite a looker back in the day. She probably had
her choice of suitors and one of those was a
one Anthony Hopkins. They actually dated, and I would think
that would have you know, like you hold on to
(30:46):
Anthony Hopkins right. Well, it's funny that you say that
she actually broke up with Anthony Hopkins because she could
not She could not stop associating him with Hannibal from
Silence of the Lambs, so once he did that movie,
she could not.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
Look at him the same. Wow, Martha, you got the choice.
It was no bad move.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
I think I think I might have been. I got
a little testy on Tuesday last week, and you never do,
I know. And I only think I got testy because.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
I wasn't here were you channeling me.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
A little bit like this?
Speaker 3 (31:24):
But you didn't get that testing.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
No, this would have been a you move. You would
have done it sooner than I did, think so I
when I when I went on this New York trip,
I flew into Philadelphia, which I haven't been doing a
really long time. You used to work on the radio there.
I mean, I'm from the East Coast, so I was like,
I haven't been to fill in a long time. I
was excited. I was excited over the the Walt Wooden Bridge.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Yeah plans there, you have the people that were there
that you were going to see. Should we mention though,
that shortly after you left on Tuesday, didn't we find
out Kamala Harris was meeting Oh yeah, oh yeah, there
was going to be the Black Journalists of America. It
was like, right smack dab where you were going to be.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
I was like, I had never seen flight attendants feverishly
rushing around before takeoff, and I'm going, what is going on?
And finally the one guy said, we're trying to be
Kamala Harris's plane. Like, if we don't, like, if we
don't get to Philly on time and we don't land
exactly when we're supposed to land, we're going to close
(32:24):
the airspace and then we're gonna circle like an hour
or so. I'm like, oh, yeah, let's go.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
Let's go, you know what.
Speaker 4 (32:30):
I'm so glad that they were really mindful of that though,
because there could have been some people that are like, eh,
if we.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
Circle for an hour, we circle for an hour.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
Right. So this guy, I mean, he took off fast.
We landed fast, we taxied fast. So we got to
we had to filly. I feel like it was I
don't know. That flight couldn't have been more than forty
five minutes, but when we landed it was by the
time I got my bag, where my checked bag, and
and got out to where the uber was. I waited
longer for the uber than I waited for the bag.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
And the guy picked me up in the uber, and
he said he had just been parked. The ubers aren't
allowed to park in the airport area. They got a
park almost off site and they'll come in, so it
takes him a little while. He said, he was with
literally one hundred Secret Service and all these all those
vehicles for the vice president were all parked where he
was parked while they were waiting for ERTI land. Okay,
(33:21):
So we got to the hotel. We got in at
twelve thirty and this is the place. My agent said
I'll stay at this hotel before we moved back to Philly.
We stayed there all the time. It's our favorite. And
it was nice, very really nice hotel in Rittenhouse Square area.
So I I walk in and I go to the
front desk and the guy's like hello, because I said,
I said, I know him really early. I said, but
I playing came in early and I gotta do a
(33:44):
I did have a conference call at one o'clock. I'm like,
I'd love to do my conference call in my room
and like drop all the stuff off. And he's like,
he goes, yeah, he goes, rooms rooms aren't just ready,
you know, check In's have four. I said, oh, I know,
I said, I just sometimes, you know.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
If there's some rooms are ready and you know that.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
Yeah, And he said, well, you're welcome to use the bar,
and I'm like okay. So that was twelve thirty. So
I went and sat in the bar and I did
my zoom and I ordered a little bit of food
and I had a little Captain Morgan and diet and
I thought, he said, everybody uses this new term for
everything in Q. I heard it in New York too.
He's like, well, we're you're in Q. We do have
you in Q, So you're you're in Q. For a room.
(34:21):
For about an hour, I'm like, okay, I want.
Speaker 3 (34:23):
To see what this Q looks like.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
I'm in Q for a room. So so an hour
goes by. I even waited. I waited to more like
one forty five. So an hour and fifteen minutes okay.
And I noticed that the guy who I walked in
with at the same time I did was going up
to a room. So I'm like, okay, that guy arrived
when I arrived. That's good.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
So any minute I'm getting called.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
So I walked up at one four time. I'm like, hey,
he was high in your name. I'm like, okay, I
met an hour ago. I'm like, god, it's Jason blah
blah blah. And he goes okay because yeah, no nothing.
I'm like, okay, I said, how much longer do you
think he goes? You're in que, I said, okay, So
I went back to the I went back, and now
it's like it's two thirty and I'm I'm like, I'm
(35:05):
out of stuff to look like I'm busy doing, you
know me, I'm ready for my third shower or like,
I'm like, I know I'm early, but so I park
my stuff in a chair, in front of the front
desk and the lobby. You know, it's like the lobby
that they can see you.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
Yeah, yeah, I know that you're waiting slightfully.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
And I started watching the press conference or something on TV,
and I'm like watching on my computer and looking. So
my tolerance level is pretty good and I'm usually calm,
but I kid you, not eight people eight people from
that time I sat down, walked up to that desk,
got smiley, people, got room keys handed to them and
(35:43):
went up to their rooms. Like I counted eight when
I hit eight, okay, and now it was like ten
to three. I this is my Alison moment, this is it.
I walked up to the guy and I went like,
it's been three hours. I mean, there's no route, you
still have no room. And he looks at me. He goes,
it hasn't been three hours. And I said, okay, my bad,
(36:07):
I'm looking. You're right, it's been like two hours and
forty minutes. And he stay that yeah, and he starts
looking and goes, yeah, I don't know, And I said,
I didn't say this, but I can't say what I
said on the air. I said, give me your crappiest room.
Give me the crappiest room you have that people have
(36:28):
sent back. I'll take any room.
Speaker 3 (36:30):
Because at this point that starts with us.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
Yeah, I said, I mean I had to go to
the bathroom so bad, and I won't go and you know,
I'm nuts and I won't go in that. And I'm like,
I had to go to the bathroom. I want to
take a shower. And I was meeting I was, I
was meeting my people at four o'clock.
Speaker 2 (36:44):
Can I ask this though, did you not mention how
you just watched eight people who came in after you
get a room?
Speaker 1 (36:51):
I implied it with the arms spread.
Speaker 4 (36:53):
Yeah, okay, well he's not remembering your name or what
time you've even arrived.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
About third time he said the name again, and I'm
like okay. So so he goes, I have a room
for you. So he hands me the room key, scared
for he wrote the room number and pen and he
handed it to me with his thumb over the room
number and it smudged, and he said, and he looks
me in the eye, goes, if you have any issues
or any problems, you can come directly to Mike. To
me like like very condescending. I'm like, I was like, okay,
(37:22):
and then I did the worst I did the worst
thing that you'll kick me in the mouth for. Allison said,
I'm sorry. I've been up since two and I'm just
a little crabby and just want to take a shower
and I got a lunch. I started, I know, I know,
I started apologizing because that's what I do. So I
get over to the elevator and I hand the I
hand you know, the bellman has my stuff because you know,
(37:43):
they took my bag and and he's like he spoke
broken English and he's like, I can't read the room number.
I'm like, oh god, it's smeared. And I'm like, I
go back and see this guy again. So the guy
goes over to the girl next to him, who was
about as unfre as unfriendly can be, and he's the
guy's showing her my room key. Now, in her defense,
(38:06):
she doesn't she can't read the room number either, and
she doesn't know my name. She didn't check me in.
So he's the he's trying to spell and pronounce my
name and he was having trouble doing that, and I'm
going I'm hearing all this go down and all this confusion.
So Finally, I took my credit card out because my
license was like in my bag, I don't know it.
(38:26):
Took my credit card out, which has my name on it,
and I walked up and I said, here this and
I and I held it up to the girl and
she goes, excuse me, sir, are you trying to flash
a credit card at me? I said, no, I'm trying
to show you how to spell my name. He's spelling
it wrong, and she did that, look down, have a
(38:46):
nice day. I'm like, I'm like, I'm in the elevator
of the guy's like, you gotta understand. The guy's trying
to tell me that he's been there twenty two years
and they've hired a bunch of new young people. And
I'm like, I'm telling you, I'm like, this is the
most uncourteous and unnice. Like I was out of my
mind in that elevator.
Speaker 4 (39:03):
Oh no, yeah, no, I would have taken my stuff
and I will no longer be staying here.
Speaker 3 (39:09):
And then I'm going to leave a bad review for you.
Speaker 2 (39:10):
Yeah, I'm gonna need some names for my mess my email,
I said later.
Speaker 3 (39:16):
On your behalf.
Speaker 2 (39:18):
After that, client Jay Towers demand satisfaction and.
Speaker 4 (39:23):
He gave him the crappiest room, by the way, was
it crappy?
Speaker 1 (39:26):
The room was fine, Oh, it was fine. So yeah,
that was my hotel experience.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
You got a room at four when rooms were ready.
Speaker 1 (39:33):
And I had my one. Yeah, Gabby, all right. A
couple of Fox News headlines today. How about our Detroit
Tigers on fire right now on Fuego and Fuego. The
Tigers continuing their magical winning ways, taken down Baltimore four
to three. That's exciting. That means as of this hour,
Detroit would be in the playoffs, which would be pretty excited.
(39:56):
They're tied with Kansas City for the second wildcard spot
and one game ahead of Minutes Soda for the third,
with six games to go, all of them at America
Parks starting tomorrow. So it's a good time. And you know,
it's a little cooler too. Won't be sweltering hot out
at the ballpark, which is nice like that. The Lions
came roun back after that loss last weekend, outlasting and
grinding down the Arizona Cardinals twenty to thirteen. So that's
(40:19):
a good way to feel this morning when a nice
Liones win will make a smile.
Speaker 4 (40:23):
I like watching Dan Campbell on the sidelines, and do
you guys, have you noticed how.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
Much gum he goes through?
Speaker 4 (40:31):
No, Oh, my gosh, and he choose like a crazy person,
NonStop this gum. Well, finally the commentators started like making
comments about it, and they went on for a couple
of minutes about like him and his gum, and I
was like, well, at least I'm not the only person
that's noticed, But like, are you going through a pack
a game?
Speaker 1 (40:51):
Isn't there is there something to like brain power with
chewing gum? Like don't they want you to start chewing
gum during tests at school and stuff?
Speaker 4 (40:58):
I have no idea, but he's like violently ch it.
Speaker 1 (41:01):
I don't know by the side of his mouth. Right,
did you hear the story about this eight year old
from Detroit proving that you're never too young to be
a hero. Henry's lemonade stand kicked off a big fundraiser
on Saturday to help the River Rouge Animal Shelter.
Speaker 3 (41:16):
Oh, Henry, eight.
Speaker 1 (41:18):
Years old been raising money to donate to the shelter
for the last three summers, so this isn't something.
Speaker 3 (41:24):
New, We boy, seriously this.
Speaker 1 (41:26):
Time around, he teamed up with the Detroit Salsa Company
for the cause. Henry's passion for helping animals landed him
a five thousand dollars donation from the Brady Hunter Foundation.
That is the highest donation he's ever received.
Speaker 4 (41:39):
Oh and that's just the beginning for Henry. You know
that he's going to continue to do this every year.
People are now hearing about this and they're gonna want
to donate too.
Speaker 3 (41:49):
You're saving lives. Yeah, you are a good boy.
Speaker 1 (41:52):
I know once you started. I said this on TV earlier.
When you start at a young age like that, yeah,
you know, you're very When you start kids young at
feeling good for donating your time or donating money or
doing anything to help other people.
Speaker 3 (42:04):
Hopefully you're creating a good human Yeah, hopefully.
Speaker 1 (42:07):
That'll stick with them for a little while. So that'll
be good. And finally, this morning, yesterday was in fact,
officially the last day oft fall, I mean the first
day of fall, last day of summer was the day before.
So here we are, we're in fall.
Speaker 3 (42:21):
Allison's in morning. I'm currently in morning. Why what do
you mean why always this time of year.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
It won't be doing your swimming as much as you
were doing or actually.
Speaker 3 (42:32):
I'm about to just start swimming for the first time
this year. I'm a little behind.
Speaker 1 (42:38):
Is not lying about half of that nook at the
pools like indoor now.
Speaker 3 (42:41):
It's not closed yet. It doesn't matter when it closes.
I still have the indoor part, but it's it's not closed.
I can go swimming today if I want to. I won't,
but I can. Let's focus on one thing at a time.
She's doing the treadmill two weeks under my belt.
Speaker 1 (42:56):
That's good. I want to get on a treadmill myself.
You start doing that. Everything that's our friends. The new
kids on the block are good friends. Did you guys
mention they're doing a Vegas residency? Did you do that?
Speaker 4 (43:11):
Well?
Speaker 3 (43:11):
No, no, no, we did not. Where are they? Where
is it?
Speaker 1 (43:17):
Do you know?
Speaker 2 (43:17):
No?
Speaker 1 (43:17):
I read it somewhere. I think Friday.
Speaker 3 (43:19):
He don't know.
Speaker 1 (43:20):
We get out on that, Chelse.
Speaker 2 (43:22):
We witnessed firsthand that their fan base is massive, so.
Speaker 1 (43:26):
That we know, yeah, yeah, a great chop at the
iHeartRadio Music Festival this past weekend.
Speaker 5 (43:30):
That's incredible time.
Speaker 1 (43:32):
But that's incredible. Some incredible stories from around the world
and beyond. We'll start with this a guy in North
Carolina got released from jail and then stole a utility
truck two hours later while the worker was still up
in the truck's bucket with the boom arm extended. Before
I read, before I play you this, just know that
he is Okay, eighty feet and you're that far up
(43:55):
there just to win can shift and Mikey move rock
back two or three feet. Had to be terrified.
Speaker 5 (44:01):
I feel for that person's family. You know, he was
just doing what he was supposed to do.
Speaker 2 (44:07):
You're not meant to when you're up in that thing,
in that little chair lift.
Speaker 3 (44:12):
Up, you know however many feet it goes up, You're
just you're up there for reach. You're not meant to
travel no that thing while it's extended.
Speaker 5 (44:23):
You know what I don't understand.
Speaker 4 (44:24):
I have seen some of those those workers out doing
that by themselves, and I just feel like, don't you
need to have a spodder or someone that's just kind
of god forbids something happens.
Speaker 3 (44:35):
They can help you down back to the criminal.
Speaker 2 (44:40):
Also, I wonder, because this is a real thing, sometimes
people would rather even though it doesn't make any sense.
They they feel comfortable in jail and they get out
in the world, and it makes them nervous. I wonder
if this guy was just was like, you know what,
I'm gonna do the first bad thing I can think of,
because I gotta get back to jail, right.
Speaker 1 (44:59):
I just wanted to be a couple from northern California
took their cat on the camping trip to Yellowstone and
the cat ran off, but he showed back up two
months later at a shelter in California, eight hundred miles
from where the cat went missing. Here are the owners.
Speaker 8 (45:16):
He was really depleted. He probably didn't have a lot
of energy to maybe even go further. So this lady
who found him and rescued him, she's just an angel
because and she even said that he looked like he
was not going to make it much longer.
Speaker 4 (45:31):
Ah, you don't take your cat on a camping trip.
Speaker 5 (45:34):
It's hard.
Speaker 3 (45:35):
Cat at home, it's hard.
Speaker 2 (45:36):
I get why you want to, but that's the thing
about cats, like it's different with dogs. Dogs are meant
to travel with you. But I would be so worried
about taking my cat anywhere because if it's slipped away,
you know, I.
Speaker 1 (45:50):
Know, and you know the cat wants explore and do
what cats do. So you run into that problem. How
about this? A person posted a video of an elementary
school teacher who heard scratching sounds coming from a student's backpack.
Speaker 7 (46:04):
What was it, I volunteer you.
Speaker 3 (46:07):
I think it's a live turtle. No, look in the
back part of his backpack, in the very back. Oh
my god, Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (46:22):
Thing, that's incredible. It was a live turtle in the backpack. Y,
it's because it was.
Speaker 3 (46:27):
It was the kid's turtle, right, just a typical kid
to take the pet turtle to school with. We's all
stop traveling with our pets.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
How many Disney movies have been a just kids movies? Right?
I don't take my turtle to school with the right.
Speaker 3 (46:40):
Maybe it was Show and Tell.
Speaker 1 (46:43):
AI generated images of purple apples that are allegedly from Saskatchewan,
Canada are popping up and people are are asking orchards
for the fruit. They're saying, Hi, where can we pick
the purple apples? We'd really like to be able to
get those.

You can have purple leaves on the crab apples.
Speaker 7 (47:07):
When there's an AI generated photo that pops up online,
we always get lots of inquiries.

thing is just really gonna cause a lot of proper

purple apples I would have how do you know?
Speaker 1 (47:26):
Well, yeah, well they have grapes that taste like cotton candy.
Speaker 3 (47:29):
I was just gonna say that and really good.
Speaker 1 (47:32):
And now I just saw grapes that are peppermint flavored.
Speaker 3 (47:34):
What are they doing?
Speaker 1 (47:35):
How are they making these things?
Speaker 2 (47:36):
Okay, well that's icky, totally cotton candy kind of works.
Speaker 1 (47:39):

on TikTok after a customer ordered it's popular ten pounds
Simon roll. Now everybody wants.
Speaker 3 (47:50):
Is that real or was that AI generated?
Speaker 1 (47:52):
