Speaker 1 (00:00):
The big headline here the Lions. Lions loss. It was
a tough one. The Lions offense never clicked against the Eagles,
losing sixteen to nine in Philadelphia, detrait one, zero for
five on the fourth down attempts, reached the end zone
only once and drops to six and four following the
third place in the NFC.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
That makes me unhappy.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Oh not good.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
So anyway, I really wanted them to beat them.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
The defense held strong, but it wasn't enough to carry
the night.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
So stupid Eagles.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
The Lions lose last night to the Eagles.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
It's such a bummer. The Eagles are really good though. There.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
I was explaining to Warren last night about the Eagles fans.
I'm like, in the of all the football teams in
all the country, the Eagles fans are the craziest. He
was like, how do you even know that. I'm like,
don't worry about how I know things. And I started
telling them, like just things about the court, and uh.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Just in general.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
I'm like, they're all insane, they're all hammered, they're all
they'll all.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Do the craziest things.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
I'm like, and I started throwing out things that I
knew and I'm like, would we do that?

Speaker 2 (01:03):
And he was like, absolutely not.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
It's funny because I grew up there and I've been
to Eagles games as a kid, and we've been in
the Phillies games and I don't remember it being like that,
but yeah, something happened.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
I don't know what it happened.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
In nineties.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Yeah they lost. Do you have to yell go birds
like every five seconds? Yeah, we'll talk to.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
My friend Bob and Philly one day. Bob Burke. Remember
FMQB magazine.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Oh yeah, you remember that guy.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
I got it read. I read that magazine for context.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
What else, Oh, the FAA says commercial airlines can go
back to normal schedule. So that's good. Oh yeah, it's
very very good. Over the weekend, I told you did
the MotorCity Comic Con stuff on Friday, because Saturday morning
I went to bright Side Dental and for the first
time ever since I think my wisdom teeth back in
the day, I had to get a tooth pole back here.

(01:53):
And yeah, I was a big baby about it.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
No, it's it's you know, we knew it's a thing.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
I was like. But what I did was I busied
myself all weekend and all last week and not thought
of it, Like I didn't bring I didn't think about
it until I got there. I did that, Like I'm
good at compartmentalizing. Yeah, like anything in my life that
could possibly be negative or bad, I will compartmentalize till
an hour before and not think about it. So if
I dread something, it's a good skill. I'll dread it
on the way there. Yeah, some people will obsess five

(02:22):
days in advance. I will not do that.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I don't know how you do. No good can come
from that, though, But it's almost like I ruined five
days instead of just the day, right.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
But I think the ability to do that like I
have rex up other things in your brain too, Like
I think it's like it's it's powering something else off
every time I do it.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
I am surprised that you were not put out.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
No, And I drove myself. I wanted to drive myself.
I just wanted to go. I wanted to like listen
to my music get there. I brought my headphones, I
had my Killer's playlist I was going to listen to,
and I was like, listen, I just want to know,
is just how much is it going to hurt They're like, well,
it's you know, it's bright side. It's not going to hurt.
That's the whole thing. Painless.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
No, it's not hurt, but it's gonna it'll hurt later.
But also, were you given the option to be put out?

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yeah, I said no.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
I just remember one of the last teeth, the last
tooth I had pulled. I just remember I was under
the gas, so I was out, but I remember briefly
waking up to being jostled in my chair. Oh no,
because but I mean that's just to give context to
it's a.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Little bit of worked. It's a little bit of work
tooth out of there.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Well, she's so salty that her dentist did not put
her completely.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Oh my god, Oh I was. I didn't even wake up.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
I just felt the movement.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Here's what she said. The nice girl said, we're going
to give you some of the gas, which I signed
off on, and then she said, and then we're going
to put this numbing stuff, and then we're going to
give you the shots. And then you know, the doc
comes in and gives you the shots. And I said, are.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
The SHOT's going to hurt with the ten foot long needle?

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Yeah, I said, I just don't want it, and he goes, no,
he goes, some people aren't comfortable with the palette shot,
which is like, right here, No, they're not my god.
So I like, in my mind, I'm like, go ahead,
give me the shots and then let it sit for
a bit and come back. He gave me the shots
and went in. He felt confident and it was good.

(04:13):
The only thing I didn't like and there was not
a drop of pain. They were a little pressure. Not
a drop of pain was He did say it what
he said, don't freak out. You're gonna hear some cracking.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
And when you hear that, you're like wow, And you know,
I'm like trying to crank my music up and you
start hearing that and you're like, yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
There's another reason you should just go to sleep.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
I mean, the whole thing, honestly, start to finished twenty minutes.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
No, it's it doesn't take long.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Did they take the big giant Q tip with the
pink shell and just hold it there for a little bit?

Speaker 1 (04:43):
They did that, and then they also you also said
they were putting cadaver bone in.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Well, I don't say they give you a sucker at
the end of it's so good.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
I said no. I said, how long you've been doing
cadaver bone. He's like, I don't know that. I for
a long time.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
I wonder if I got cadaver bone.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
I got cadaver bone. Look at you and membrane. Here's
what I cadaber bone and membrane. So I was like,
I was on my way.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
We can rebuild him. We have the technology.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
I'm like a bionic man. Went home. I had rice pudding.
I was great.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Did you put your tooth under your pillow?

Speaker 1 (05:14):
No?

Speaker 2 (05:14):
I did not. I never gave it to should have
done it, all right, missed opportunity.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Thank you Bright Sidental. It was painless.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
