Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mojo on the Morning Show, Megan, your Thanksgiving is going
to be an interesting one because there, from what I'm understanding,
is going to be a girl that is going to
be joining the Thanksgiving party.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Or no, no, I'm the girl joining the Thanksgiving party,
and I'm super freaking stressed out about it.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
You're meeting somebody, though, aren't you. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
So I have so graciously been invited by my brother's
girlfriend's family to their Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving Day. Now my
Thanksgiving is happening on Saturday. We're the kind of family
that like, go do go, do everything with the people
with plans, and then we'll make arrangements whenever, like it's

(00:41):
not super important for us to have it on the
day it's supposed to be on, right, Yeah that makes sense.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
So, uh, which I like that.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
By the way, they call it now friends Giving, but
we just called it our family.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
We did that.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
So my plans for Thanksgiving Day I didn't have any.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
I was just gonna kind of hang out, watch football game,
clean my apartment, get ready prep all the food for
Saturday that I could prep ahead of time, like I didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
I was going to be pretty much by myself that day, which.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I was not upset about at all, And I think
her and my brother were talking about it in front
of her parents and they said, oh, just to invite
her to our Thanksgiving.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
I've never met them.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
I have no idea what the plan is, if they're formal,
if they're not formal, what to take, what to do.
And now I feel like there's so much pressure because
it's a holiday to meet the parents of my brother's
girlfriend and her family on such a big day.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Is it just as stressful to meet your brother's girlfriend's
family as it would be if you were meeting somebody
that you were dating's family.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
I think it's more stressful because if you're the parents
of somebody who's dating somebody, you're like, all right, I've got.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
To like this person. They might be around for a
long time, like put on them. I have to like
they're family, right, But for this.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
The sister aka me, you could be like, we don't
have to invite her or anything ever again.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
You see, to me, this sort of speaks fellume about
who they are, that they wanted you to be a
part of it, and they want to meet you and
get to know you.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Yeah, and I'm already like a good green light.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Yes, and I've met her brother. I'm obsessed with her brother,
so like that's great news. So at least there's one
person there.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
No, okay, and he has a boy that would be weird. Okay,
that'd be really weird.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
We talk about RuPaul's drug race a lot together. But
I'm very, very nervous to meet the parents.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
What do we what do we know about? So you
like the girlfriend, we like love the girlfriend. Do we
know anything about them? Like do we know do they
have like a weird sense of humor?

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Like we do? Like do they do you think they
know what you do?

Speaker 2 (02:44):
I don't know, and I'm terrified. I am absolutely terrified.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
The good thing about her brother is I've actually known
him for years. He was family friends with my cousin
who I'm super close with. So we've been to like
Fourth of July parties together and festivest part Like I've
known him casually for years. So meeting him as the
girlfriend's brother was more like, hey, nice to have more
than a five minute conversation with you.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
You get the scoop from him then about like what
to where, what his parents are, like, if you if
you should bring something, and what should you bring Yeah,
because you.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Know my brother is an idiot with that kind of thing.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Yeah, I wouldn't.

Speaker 5 (03:19):
I would not trust your brother.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Got I got. I hope they're Trumpers. I hope they Yeah,
I hop me. I don't. You have to be on
your best behavior and you can't. No, I just hoping. So, Megan,
what do you think of that election? I'll be like,
oh God, Megan's gonna have to bite her.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
To want it to be clear, I didn't start this.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Great question is is Scott Mick going to No?

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Scott was so Scott mac has plans with his girls
seconds you already met the peace.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
They've abandoned you.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Yeah. I don't know if you know this.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
I'm everybody's last person to think about on major holidays.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Love it.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
This is wild, By the way, you can't do that, Scott.
What's so Scott to even offer you a chance to
go hang out with him and.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
His Can I get the tiny little violin place?

Speaker 3 (04:09):
How tiny do we want it to be?

Speaker 4 (04:10):
It's very tiny?

Speaker 6 (04:11):
All right?

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Hold on a second, Hold on, hold on here, I'm
getting sad and see her sad violin for Megan.

Speaker 7 (04:19):
I used to have a plan to spend all of
my dad's money when he died, and now I'm not afraid.
I'm kind of afraid that it's not going to be
there because he's metting it on his girlfriend.

Speaker 8 (04:30):
He used to take me on vacations, and now he
takes his different on vacations, and now I don't even
get invited to holidays because he's doing there have been replaced.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
No, uh yeah, he had plants with her. But again,
it was like, starting from the beginning, go do your
other things.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Let's pick a day where everybody's uh, you know available.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
I do.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
I do love these people that out of the blue
in this girlfriend, by the way, sounds like she's spectacular.
I really I am happy for your brother because they
would invite you like, that's awesome. Like to me, that
is that's the kind of family that I like, the
families that are like, hey, you know what, let's add
another everybody, Yeah, we got we got room at the table,

(05:12):
bring your cookies?

Speaker 4 (05:13):
What hell, they're good.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
What happens if you get the kids table and that's
the big table.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
I think I'd prefer it because it would be less strass.
I can really now, okay, Shannon, can you beute me
up here? I'm actually very good with children.

Speaker 9 (05:25):
You.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
I mean that my kids have not stopped talking about
hanging out with you on Saturday night.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Let me tell you, it's funny because everybody thinks I
hate children. I just don't want any of my own.
I'm great hanging out with them. Mentally, we're on par
with each other.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
So how about this one mom and dad of your
brother's girlfriend. So Megan explain f them. Baby, Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
If they listen to the show, I would literally cry,
say I'm so sorry, thank you for the invite, and
walk out.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Hi, erin, what's up? It's mo Joe in the morning.
You hear this that Megan's got a new family for Thanksgiving?

Speaker 9 (05:59):
I love that, And I was just okay. So I
was listening and she was naming off something that she
would see the brother at.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Yep.

Speaker 9 (06:05):
Did you say you celebrate Festivus, Megan?

Speaker 4 (06:08):
Every year? Baby, we got to air our grievances.

Speaker 9 (06:12):
Oh I love it. Oh my gosh. I didn't know
if you said festivals. I was like, nope, nope, I
think she did.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
That's why I called it Festus for the rest of us.
That is correct.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
My cousin has a giant Festivus party every single year
that we go to.

Speaker 9 (06:25):
Oh, that's so amazing. I don't know anybody besides she
like three people in my family that watch time Felt
that watch that celebrate.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
So yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
But by the way, what do you think is Megan
going to behave herself? Will everything work out good? Will
her brother still be dating this girl on Friday?

Speaker 9 (06:44):
I think like the fun part about being an outgoing
person like Megan is she probably will be the life
of the party and might say some things that might
embarrass her.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
A little bit, but overall will be so fine.

Speaker 9 (06:55):
What is she's always going to invite back?

Speaker 1 (06:57):
What if they ask her questions about so tell us
about your brother and some of the is he gonna
like tell you things to say and not say?

Speaker 4 (07:04):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (07:05):
That boy is love him to death. If you're wondering
who out of the two of us is sensitive, it's
not me. I will not say anything about him because
I love him too much and he's my best friend
and I don't be ignored for weeks.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
But the outcoming thing goes two way.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
I can either kill it and make him look good
or put my foot in my mouth so hard that
I'll never recover.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
Oh. I think this is gonna be perfect.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Tune in to Mojo in the morning Monday morning to
find out all the details about what happens Megan's Festivus
and at the Thanksgiving holiday celebration with her brother.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
And his girlfriend's family. That's going to be a great one.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Ah, what do we got here? Hold on a second, Monica,
what's up, Monica? How you doing?

Speaker 6 (07:54):
I'm all right, But listen, Megan, you have to be
faring up the public girl card here. Throw some true
stuff in your vehicle so that you can maybe feel
out the crowd, and then, oh, hey, I forgot something.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
I'll be right back.

Speaker 6 (08:07):
And then if you've got to grab a letter or
take something off to match the vibe, or to grab
a gift for the hostess, to keep it in your car.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
But what if I walked in and went outfit, went
out to my car.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Change into something completely different, like, didn't take off.

Speaker 6 (08:26):
It's got to be a subtle change, subtle change, but
just enough.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Don't leave it in your car. No, don't leave it
in your car. Bring a suitcase and act like you're
staying the night.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
Show up in a fully sequence dress. Change into sweatpants. Hey,
what is not?

Speaker 1 (08:41):
What is life without a good costume change are you
Are you bringing anything to the party?

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Are you going to bring any of your bake goods,
your famous keys?

Speaker 2 (08:47):
I don't know what to bring because apparently mom is
like a fantastic chef and baker, and then my brother's
girlfriend used to work at a bakery.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
So like, I'm worried that I'm not gonna step people
bring like a bring a bottle of wine?

Speaker 1 (09:01):
Y Okay, what happens if it becomes a situation like
it happens at my house where I love When guests
come to our house and Chelsea goes, it seems like
you enjoy them more than you enjoy your own family.
Like Megan becomes such a hit that Meghan's brother becomes
the who's that guy?

Speaker 7 (09:19):
Thing?

Speaker 4 (09:19):
I hope.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
So that's my goal in life is to outshine him
at every possible moment.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
But how much money do I have to spend on
the gift?

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Uh? It's got to be a good, good bottle of wine.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
Like a fifty dollar bottle of wine.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
Well, you got something you gotta fit.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
First off, make sure that they're not alcoholics, because if
you do that then that's a bad deal.

Speaker 5 (09:38):
Geez, that happened to sparkling and wine.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
Didn't drink.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Yeah, find out ahead of time. Ask your ask your
brother for details, or his girlfriend for details. Okay, if
you here's the deal. If dad is like the biggest
bourbon drinker and you get him a nice bottle of bourbon,
you will be his favorite forever. He will want his
daughter to marry both you and his and your brother.
All right, thank you brother, not my brother. Yeah yeah,

(10:04):
her brother, her brother, yes, all right, thank you for
the call.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
Take care of yourself.

Speaker 6 (10:09):
I have a great guy, Gary one.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Guys have a great guy. We'll have a great guy too,
all right, Hold on one second.
