(00:05):
They're all join no good, ohMan. So much to talk about here
on this podcast. We're getting readyfor a big party this week that we're

(00:26):
doing on Thursday or Friday, I'msorry Friday are booze bus? And then
we got the Michigan Michigan State game, post Lions celebration that we won the
Super Bowl. We're five and one, and we got so much stuff to
talk about. Meghan and her bigannouncement about her moving to Detroit, and

(00:50):
I don't know anything else we cantalk about here. Let's start. We'll
start with the Meghan thing and thenwe'll go down the list. So Meghan
made an announcement on the show thatMegan is going to move from Toledo to
Detroit. Do we know how thehousing market is right now? Is the
housing market in Toledo good? Whereare you gonna make some money on that
house? I'm a little bit luckierthan most because I already have a buyer

(01:14):
lot. Does just slid right intothat deal? Must be very shocking.
But my brother's gonna buy my house? What perfect? Isn't it nice?
Did he even have any like? Were you like, hey, do you
want to buy the house? Andhe's like of course it's easy. I
had to do the thing where itwas like, you don't have to say
yes to this, and I don'twant you to feel pressured into this,

(01:38):
but I can get you a reallygreat deal on a house if you want
to buy this one. I knowthe person selling it. So yeah,
my brother is going to buy myhouse from me, which is going to
be very exciting. It makes alot of this so much easier to navigate
and really buys me a lot oftime because even if he buys it today,

(01:59):
it's not like I have to getout, So yeah, I've got
some wiggle room. Which oh whata weight off your shoulders though too.
Yeah, yeah, especially because it'slike the worst time to move because you
know it's about to snow in Michigan. Will it be weird though, for
him to be now living in themaster bedroom knowing that his sister wants lived

(02:21):
in that. So the good newsis, and this is the saddest news
ever, he doesn't have to thinkabout it if I had sex in the
room, because I never, whichis so funny because truly, he's he's
actually not going to move into thatbedroom. He's going to stay in the
bedroom that he's in and he's goingto turn my bedroom into his like music

(02:43):
room or right now, all ofhis guitars and pianos and stuff are all
stuffed all over the place in differentplaces, so now he has Oh that's
nice. I'm just spread out. That's well, and now where I already
know the answer to this question, but so everybody else knows. Where are
you looking in Michigan to live?Well, I'm actually like very much looking
for recommendations because I'm very stressed outabout this. But my I think my

(03:06):
number one right now is downtown Detroit. It's top of my list. My
favorite building is in downtown. Andthen my two backups are Royal Oak,
which I don't think it's in thebudget anymore. And Ferndale. Yeah,
Ferndale is more much. I haveso many friends that live in Ferndale.
You would love Ferndale. I couldsee you live in Yeah, totally my
vibe. They don't actually have alot of options right now, and downtown

(03:28):
does, so yeah, it's isnot that far away. Is it cheaper
to live downtown Detroit than it isto live in in Uh? Yes,
significantly. And the building that I'mlooking at is in New builds. So
it's done so much nicer than theplaces that I was able to find in
Royal Oak. And it's don't youhave to pay city taxes and stuff like
that? Doesn't that kind of washit out? Or no? I mean

(03:50):
the rented Royal Oak is like eighteento nineteen hundred plus for a one bed
and in Detroit it's like one thousandto twelve hundred dollars, So, I
mean the taxes would really count fornothing, especially like I don't know.
Yeah, well, then you gotto consider parking in downtown Detroit too,
because if you have to pay youmonthly for parking garage, that could be
an expense. I could not finda apartment over five hundred square feet for

(04:15):
less than like twenty four hundred dollars. Wow, it was crazy. It
was crazy. Twenty four hundred.Still, I would take that over than
what I'm saying. Why don't yoube the KP's roommate did. Wasn't she
looking for a roommate one bedroom andit is so smaller than a shoe box?
Megan and I would be cuddling allnight? What about that? What
about Lydia? Lydia, you talkedabout moving out when you become you guys

(04:40):
can be roommates. Then who's gonnacook me dinner? Cyan won't be there,
That's true, you say with yourmom. Do you know what's funny?
Though? This is like the firsttime in a long I have lived
alone before, but it's been along time. In the majority of my
life I have not lived alone.I have to like learn how to do
this again. Yeah, you canlive with Chelsea and I. You can
become well adopted with Chelsea. Listen, I I'm very happy for you.

(05:08):
This is gonna be nice for youto be able to be in the city
that you wanted to be in fora while. Thank you. Now from
here, where do you go?Broadway? Like? What's the that's the
next? Hitting all the tos rittingall the t dews. I gotta tell
you though, it's so funny, because I think I've mentioned this before.
My family is split up. Mydad was born and raised in Detroit.

(05:30):
So he's like so proud of meright now. He's like, he told
me, you're going back home.Yeah. So the major like half of
my family is in Toledo and morethan half a guess is in Detroit,
and my cousins. Dacy was like, I can't believe you're coming back and
you're gonna be so close. Sothat's really, really, really exciting.
But I've mentioned it a long timeago on the show. None of my

(05:54):
family are from Detroit thought my jobwas cool or interesting until I joined the
show, and now they're like, and now you're coming here, it's going
to be great. I'm so proudof you. None of your problem my
first big job. Thank you. It's funny. Moving to me is stressful,
but moving to another city is evenmore stressful. I'm freaking out.
Like the idea of moving and movingout of you know, your apartment or

(06:17):
house and moving to another one.Yeah, that's stressful, packing out,
packing up, but you're leaving yourtown, you're leaving your hometown. It's
kind of like going away to collegeall over again. Are you trying to
get me to cry? No,but I could see where that would be
the case. Like, I like, my next move that I that I
have in my life is probably toa grave. You know, i'd like

(06:41):
to, But I was told bya therapist that when your kid goes away
to college, the worst thing inthe world that you could ever do to
them, especially going back like theirfreshman year is give them lots of change.
So I was talking, so Ihad I had a conversation with a
professional therapist that Chelsea and I aretrying to have on Are We Don't podcast,
And it's somebody that's like very worldrenowned as far as like psychology with

(07:08):
your kids, and they said theworst times to ever have a drastic change
in a child's life is between theages of fourteen years old and twenty years
old. And they said that whenparents make a drastic change, a divorce,
a move, job, changes, things like that, between those ages,
your kids have a high probability offace being faced with some you know,

(07:32):
issues in their lives. That therewill be issues all of those and
some My mom got a divorce,my mom moved, my mom got a
job, and she had a baby. How old are you did that?
Did it honestly affect you? Ohmy god? I did not feel that

(07:53):
until college. So one of thethings that were so I was thinking this
person might be a good guest forthe show. But the conversation that we
were having as a pre conversation aboutwhat she says is she believes that as
a parent that you should suck itup and not do this to your child.
Like basically, people make they makesacrifices for their kids in their life,

(08:16):
you know what I mean, Likethere's things that you'll do for your
children. And they were talking abouthow you should figure out a way that
you and whoever it is, like, don't have to move, Like if
it's a job responsibility, like ifit's the only job in the world that
you can get, then that's thething you have to do to provide for
your family. But just because thatis something that's better for your career,

(08:37):
it's not better for your family. And so it was really interesting hearing them
say that. So that's why we'reto long story short, we're not going
to sell our house because I hadthis conversation and I'm like, oh fuck,
because yeah, how long are yougoing to wait? How long are
you supposed to wait? So soshe said that, she said that it's
really you know, important that thekid feels like they always have a place

(08:58):
to go to and giving them acouple of summers of being able to know
that things aren't going to change forthem. You know, in KP you
probably realize this when your mom wentthrough all those changes that you feel like
all of a sudden, what thefuck is next? Right, what's the
next hurricane that's going to come in? You know, is the next one
coming our way? And kind ofgiving them a little bit of stability that

(09:22):
so probably might to answer your question, probably letting him get through like maybe
a sophomore year college and then we'lldo it, which will probably be a
couple of years. Yeah. No, honestly, you know what, it'll
end up happening. He's not goingto come after that anything, He's well,
it's gonna end up happening. Thereal estate market's going to suck.
I know it's going to happen. We're going to sell it when the market's

(09:43):
the worst because that just is howthings go. But he'll he'll be okay,
hopefully. I think the only thinggetting my brother and I through this
is that it's forty. Yeah, that's great. Door to door. It's
not going to be bad. I'lltell you. I I look at it
like you're going you know, likeyou're going away to you know, you're
going away to U of M orsomething like that, you know what I

(10:05):
mean, Like you're true, you'redeciding to stay in state for college.
I feel so bad. My brotheris so happy for me, and he's
so proud of me, and Iknow he's putting on a brief face and
I know he totally feels like he'sbeing left behind, and it's breaking my
heart. Do you think he alsohas a little bit of I'd like to
be going with her? Oh?Yeah, for sure, especially because he
works in Michigan too, like hedoes. He works in ann Arbor.

(10:31):
My dad works north of here.Yeah, we all he drives that why
the hell do they live in Soif you guys didn't know, the cost
of living in Ohio is incredibly cheaperthan the cost of living I know.
All the gas in time that's wheresomething too. Yeah, but it's not
that long of a drive though,It's really not. Especially it's it always
makes me laugh when people are like, Toledo's so far away, like where

(10:52):
are you from? They're like, why not? I'm like, that's farther
away you're talking about that. Sofor Lydia to come to the studio from
where she lives way up on theeast side of the Detroit area here,
that is as long as long asit probably takes you to get to uh
In Arbor from Toledo. It takesme an hour to get here. That's
why I hated spending the night. It was dry. I don't know how

(11:16):
you do that every day. It'slike thirty five minutes day on Arbor.
When we moved to Eastern Market,it's going to take me fifty five minutes
to get to work every day,so that my drive is going to go
from fifteen minutes to fifty five minutes. So that's why I'm going to live
with Megan Apart in Downtown. Wemoved there, and then I think my
drives like a three minute drive. The next thing I want to talk about

(11:39):
is our booze bush because this isgoing to be fun. And I had
a horrible dream over the weekend.I had a dream that we had the
baby sit and they were not anymisfits. It was some of the listeners.
Like we had some listeners that didn'tshow up for the bus. We
left them behind at the bar atthe Asylum, and it turned Monday show
turned out to be a sh show. So I'm hoping that that doesn't happen.

(12:03):
But we haven't done a pub crawlin a while where we were on
a bus. Yeah, and it'slike field trips. You remember field trips
in school where you had to like, you know John Smith here, you
know you have to do the countJean Murphy, Ha, Yeah, you
have to do You have to dothe count because you'll lose people and then
you start gaining people. Sometimes peoplestart trying to jump on the buses.
Yeah, I'm a room. I'vedone all. I'm doing some of the

(12:26):
field trips coming up. All Ican volunteer to do that because my ass
is not going through the Haunted House. So I'll stand there at the clipboard.
You're going in the haunted House.Nope, No, you're gonna sing
Ladys Good. That is what it'sgoing to be like though, And didn't
we leave somebody behind? One time? We did? And it was it

(12:46):
was really bad. I felt badfor them because it really wasn't a we
literally I think what ended up happeningwas they went home like they met somebody
and went home Yeah with them whatit was one of those like everybody's as
an adult that happens, but itlike, yes, I feel like there
was like a couple of minutes ofpanic there until we figured out what had

(13:07):
happened. I have a whole list, so everyone's getting on the bus and
I'm calling you by name before wetake off. It becomes a responsibility too
to make sure that, you know, everybody doesn't go drinking and driving.
So that's why, you know,we want to make sure you sober up
or at least get an uber lyftto get home, you know, from
the studios. But it's fun.Back in the day on the show,

(13:28):
we used to do the themed pubcrawls all the time, and they were
always so much damn fun. Itwas hysterical to see people dressed up in
costumes, but it was hysterical toinvade a bar, or invade like in
this case the Eloise Asylum where youpull up and it's like you all get
off and everybody's like, who thehell are these people, and it's like,

(13:50):
oh, it's the Mojo in themorning show with a bunch of listeners.
So it's kind of cool. I'mexcited. I think I'm minding dress
up scary just so that the actorsdon't scare me. That's actually an interesting
concept. Can you outscare the actors? Weird on It's scared? Actually,
that would be a good topic forus to do on Friday, to talk

(14:11):
to actors from haunted attractions and whathas happened to them? Because we always
hear stories they say, you know, I think there. I read that
there was like one in four peoplego through a haunted house with their eyes
completely closed. How do you want? I mean that was me. They
imagine thing. They kind of holdon and get guided by whoever they're with.

(14:33):
So what's the point right right?Because you're what does it cost to
go through Eloi's asylum? Is itkind of expensive or is it? I
think it's a pretty opinion. Yeah, that's a long way to go.
That's like me going to a movieto fall asleep. I've done that before.
Taylor, Oh no, the Barbiemovie Kevin twice. Elois is forty

(14:58):
seventy for the VP Pete, Istill feel people touching me. Are they
allowed to touch you? No?I don't. I don't think so.
They didn't touch me. They getright up in your face. Yeah,
I don't want that. I canfeel it. What is it with the
VIP? What does that come with? That? Says both attractions? So
again there's like an upstairs and adownstairs. Okay, well you get both

(15:20):
of it in a VP Express line. How much does it cost if I
want them to touch me? Bythe way, Mike, that's the that's
the other place next to Alois Asylum. What would you guys do if we
all hey, real quick, Yeah, that's all any upstairs? Oh I
can't wait. They're looking at thethe Aloise Asylum right now on line.

(15:41):
What would you guys do if atthe end of the night we did a
third thing and we went to astrip club? On a strip club?
No, like, we all talkedabout going to strip club. Could you
imagine if we all went to astrip club with the listeners. I would
love to see cool lady at astrip club. Holy shit. Well,
and she's very honestly, she's veryreligious, which I don't want to I

(16:03):
don't want to impede on on her, you know, her faith. But
it would be funny if all ofa sudden, this is the next haunted
house and she goes, what thehell they're taking off their clothes? Oh
god, she would ship herself. It would be so funny. That's gonna
be good. So that's the secondthing. And then we have the Michigan
Michigan State game going on this weekend, which we're gonna be uh doing a

(16:27):
broadcast from one of the the houses. What is the house called, it's
the h Theta Kai Theta Kai.O are we pledging or like, what's
the I think we're honorary members.I think they honestly, because we're going
to be doing this thing. Ithink we're going to have one of the

(16:48):
guys on from Theta Kai. That'slike they're promo guy who, by the
way, every time I talk tohim, he always goes, can I
just call you Tom? Because heknows my real name is Tom, And
I'm like, no, you alittle bastard. Seriously. I went on
their Instagram and they have like theyhave our local stop for this week.

(17:11):
Oh sorry, I'm on the website, which is kind of sweet. Like
I appreciate that I have never beena part of a fraternity or so well,
obviously sorority. I'm not a partof the authority, but I've never
been part of one before, afraternity. But it kind of makes me
like excited about the idea that Ican go back and live vicariously through others

(17:33):
and go back to college. Yeah, because I went to UH. I
went to a commuter college. Therewas nothing at at Columbia College in Chicago.
I think they might have it now, but back in the day,
you know, we were the Columbiamicrophones. We just had Okay, that's
terrible. You guys witnessed though, something that was interesting because my son called

(17:59):
right before we were doing the podcastand Luke was like, Dad, can
you get like a hotel and wecan just party all night? And he
wanted me, like to come upthere and party with him. I know,
why did you say, you're notsure? I got to sleep?
I have I'm a sacrifice. Youcan complain that he doesn't call you enough,
and then when he invites you toactually spend time with him, you're
like, wait a second, justbecause I don't get a call during Monday

(18:22):
through Friday means that I got togo get fucked up with him on the
weekends. He wanted to actually loveYeah, yours is talking. His is
not his quality time And you said, no, you guy's got to find
a quality time. How much qualitytime am I going to have at Harper's
in East Landsane? I mean, have you ever seen that place? Looking
to him? That's what matters.Have you ever gotten drunk with your mom?

(18:45):
Yes? Really? Were you ata college bar or where were you
at home at okay? Well withhim at all? If he wants me
to, then I can pass outon my own couch. But there's a
raising canes there. I was lookingat something. I was looking at them
because my sister always my sister wentto State and she always talks about I
think it's called the riv is theriv like a dive bar? You know

(19:07):
what? I don't know. Ifthe Kansas right there, I get excited
for you. I think there's gonnabe some craziness with this Michigan Michigan State
game because remember last year there wasthe whole tunnel thing that took place.
What was that where they they gotinto a fight, didn't they? Yeah,
the Michigan State students they got charged. Yeah, they ended up getting

(19:27):
like charged by the cops and theyended up getting kicked out of school.
And now it's almost like retaliation timeor Michigan. Will Michigan go into Michigan
State's house and will they cause anyshit other than being twenty five point favorites
or whatever they are? I mean, he's gonna run up the score.
How much do you think that Michigancould beat Michigan State? Pie forty?

(19:52):
Could you imagine if Jim Harbaugh decidedto do it Little Brother all over again,
we'll have a little Brother come backinto play. I don't know.
I love these rivalries. I thinkthat they're great when there's a possibility that
one team could actually upset the otherteam. I just don't think that that's
the case this time. I alsothink that it was stupid that they moved
this game to a night game, and they did it for national television because

(20:15):
it's on NBC. How much ofa shit show is East Lansing going to
be that night? You think Iwant to be in that shit show?
Because kick off seven thirty to night. That means that two o'clock in the
morning. My son goes, Dad, can you just stay out till two
in the morning? Fuck? Areyou kidding me? Two o'clock in the
morning. Now I'm on my thirdp Michigan State is There's a twenty four

(20:42):
and a half point spread on thatgame, so if they beat them,
it will be absolutely insane. It'snever gonna happen. I might consider putting
money on Michigan State just with thepoints, but I think I think Michigan's
Michigan's gonna beat Michigan State by morethan that to my thirty. They beat
the last team, the last teamthey played. Would they play Indiana or

(21:03):
I don't know. And then youknow the other thing I wanted to tell
you guys, going away to aLions game was one of the most fun
things that I've ever done. Mike, Remember when you went to LA.
How much fun did you have whenyou saw them take on the Rams in
LA? And it's just different becauseyou're like you're experiencing it. I mean,

(21:25):
you did the same thing you wentwith Chelsea. Like, my wife
isn't one hundred percent into football, but in that environment when you're kind of
away from everything and you're you know, the stadium is a whole experience.
It's a ton it's a like insaneamount of fun. The coolest part of
going away to a Lions game wasevery place that you went to if you
were wearing a Lions jersey, hat, t shirt, whatever it might be,

(21:49):
when you ran into another detroitter orDetroit Lions fan, because there were
I saw Lions fans from Texas andyou know, New York and Los Angeles
and stuff like that. When youran into them, people were it was
like you were part of a fraternity. Yeah, you're like best friends.
It was really cool and it wasjust absolutely awesome. And then the other
thing is I think the Lions arestarting to like like us a little bit

(22:12):
more as a show because I gotreached out yesterday by one of the people
from the Lions PR department. Yeah, that was right. Well, they
just basically they said, hey,we saw that you were at the game.
You know, you should contact us. We'd love it. And then
they were kind of like I asked, I said, could we you know,
I want to try to get youknow, coach Campbell on with us.

(22:33):
I want to try to get someplayers on. And they were like,
well, we have rights and thingslike that because you know, they
pay people. Some radio stations andTV stations pay for that. But they're
like, hey, we'd love tohave you guys down, So I'm going
to try to get the whole showdown one time broadcast on. They won't
talk about they have so uh doyou remember when Matthew Stafford was here,
we could only have Kelly on theshow because one of the radio stations,

(22:55):
I think it was w JR,had the rights to Matthew so he would
get paid and their sponsors paid himfor interviews every week and that's happens all
the time. Let's get the rightsto one of the guys who's just on
the practice squad and ask for likedirt on the team, and we should,
honestly, you know who, getthe rights to Danny and then she

(23:15):
can give us all the tea thatI love Danny. Isn't she great?
And she's such she's so good? What's her? Her instagram is Danny Rogers.
Danny Rogers's able, So you knowwho I love too is I'd love
to get the guy that sings theyou know, and I'd like to get
him to like come up with asong that actually sounds a little bit more

(23:37):
modern, Like can we put abeat behind it or something? You could
do that, Like you're so goodat getting people hype and with our song
on Friday morning, you could comeup with a new version from the Lions.
We'll have to come up with somekind of a I don't know,
I don't know it'd be cool, all right? Uh, anything else that

(23:57):
we have to talk about or orI think we're at a time limit here.
We gave our sponsors enough. I'mat a point right now this is
gonna happen one of the days onthe show, Like we stay on till
ten thirty, there may be atime where literally we just say to the
listeners, all right, enough already, Like you know how teachers would let
you out early. Oh yeah, like all right, guys, I'm sorry,

(24:18):
but I got I got a doctor'sappointment today, we're going to we're
going on. You never had ateacher that would say, hey, guys,
we're gonna just do in college, mean it's just a study hall today.
Oh okay, in college. Maybenot in high school. Yeah,
I weren't even allowed to leave thehigh school for lunch or anything. They
were so strict. I had ateacher in high school that was the baseball

(24:38):
coach that used to make us justgo out there and pick weeds around the
baseball field. And that was classall right. Thanks for listening to the
