Welcome back, I Renumber two Kentucky Sports Radio Stop. I
don't care if he's pointing out you're not stop af
I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. The
text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five
two five four. We are here at the k hey
well no right, Kspargrill. We're at the Corman Marketplace with
their Christmas season. Remember Corman full of people coming in
(01:22):
here who listened to the show and came in wanted
to see the upside down tree.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
They got other stuff too.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Go to Corman Marketplace dot com online or come out
twenty five percent off all day.
Speaker 5 (01:31):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Somebody wrote on text machine and said, uh, Matt, the
Cynthiana Christmas tree in the nineties was upside down for
that very reason, and people in Cynthiana thought it was satanic.
Speaker 5 (01:42):
Well wow, well so.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
I guess they stopped doing that in in McDonald's.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
But they're thankfully.
Speaker 6 (01:49):
I think it's come full circle and now they don't
think it's that they're not satanic. Here, come get one
twenty five percent off. That's exactly right.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
Let's do a couple things. I want to get to
UK buck now. First of all, you know I mentioned
the other day the drama, probably the drama that's sweeping
the young people world that this that a lot of
people here would know. Is what's happening with the country
singer Zach Bryan. Have you like, I shouldn't care about
this because I don't even particularly like Zach Bryan's music,
and I didn't even know who this other person was.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
But it is kind of fascinating. Right.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
He was dating this woman Ryan named Brianna chicken Fry. Yeah, Okay,
they broke up. That happens sometimes people break up, right.
She went on a podcast last night and she said
he offered me twelve million dollars to sign an NDA
to tell you, I'll never talk about what happened when
(02:37):
we dated. Twelve million dollars. She said, I turned it
down because I think it's more important to be open.
Shanon's first reaction.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
Is give me twelve million. I'll never say another.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
About anything anything.
Speaker 5 (02:55):
I'll stop talk. I'll stop the show for twelve million.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Okay, So I hear that. Here's a couple things I think.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
Number one, it's gonna be hard, like, I heart you
want me to sign twelve million dollars, I won't even
know that I had a radio show right with me? No,
But I mean they're like, that's so that's a lot
of money. Second, the offer of twelve million dollars, though,
says to me, she got something she could say. Though,
(03:23):
you know, I mean, twelve million dollars a lot of money, Drue,
if you offer somebody to now, I'm assuming she's.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Telling the truth. I don't know if she's telling the
truth or not.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
But if she is telling the truth, twelve million dollars,
says to me, you really.
Speaker 6 (03:34):
Don't want her to talk, right, Yeah, she knows a lot,
probably has photos and videos too.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
Yeah. So that's the second thing.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
So then last night Zach Brian puts out an Instagram comment.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
It's clear that dude's going through a lot of stuff.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
I'm not trying to mock it, but in the in
the thing, one of the things he says is I'm
quitting touring and going to France and getting my master's degree.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Now, this is one of the biggest in America.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
I mean, this is a dude who sells out arenas,
has played stadiums.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
This is a dude like who A ton of people
know his music.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
Younger women especially like forty under love It, Drew loves It.
He now says I'm done, I'm going to France and
getting a master's degree.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Does that seem weird to you?
Speaker 4 (04:21):
Could you imagine like Garth Brooks saying that in nineteen
ninety six.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
My first reaction was, she made that up. There's no way.
He offered twelve million and she was gonna turn it down.
But then you tell me that he's leaving the country.
She may have something to say. He can getting the
heck out of the United States and gonna go hide
in France somewhere.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
He said, I'm not touring. He said, I'm done, toy,
I'm just going to France. Now, apparently I don't follow.
I don't know, like apparently he said he's not touring
in the past and then he comes back, so he
probably will.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
But the master's degree in France seems weird to me.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
It's like, I get, you're one of the biggest music
stars in the world and you're just gonna like go
to France.
Speaker 6 (04:59):
Well, he told us he was coming. I went and
saw him in March and his tour was called It's
quittin Time, And I have a shirt that says Zach Bryan,
It's quittin Time. So it's not like he's twenty seven
all he wasn't leaving us hence along the way. It
is bizarre. He's getting absolutely killed on the internet.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
Yeah, all right.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
So then the other thing she said, last thing, Shita
she said, And again I don't know if any of
this is true, and I understand it's just it's just
gossipy drama.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
But what I mean, we're not above it.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
She said that he one morning she woke up and
she put on a Morgan Wallen song, Like she woke
up and she was like, I want to play some music.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Turn off Morgan Wallen. He came in.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
And said, you are not allowed to listen to any
male country singer that's not me. Wowow in my now,
that seems very fragile. Do you would you be like that?
Would you be like if you were a big time
singer and like Morgan Wallence, maybe your biggest rival, go,
you cannot listen.
Speaker 7 (05:55):
Oh, I would say, listen to whatever you want. That
does seem very egotistical. And I think he's got some then, well,
obviously a lot to hide. She's got something she could say.
Speaker 5 (06:03):
Maybe that would destroy his career.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
Maybe well may maybe that's why he's going France.
Speaker 7 (06:07):
So if you saw him at Bourbon and beyond, fest
just a couple of months ago, you saw maybe one
of his last shows.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Maybe one of his last shows.
Speaker 6 (06:12):
So anyway, I wouldn't want my song. I'd be like,
will you play someone else other than me in my house?
I don't want to hear me.
Speaker 7 (06:18):
I'm like that too, Like I don't want to go
back and hear myself. I don't go back and watch
my wrestling matches or even listen to the show after
it's over.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
So if you're if your girlfriend's favorite show was like
the Alan Cutler show, I'm offended.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
It was not.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
It was not ks R, but it was like, you know,
I don't know Terry Miners. Even if you like the person,
would you be like, you don't listen to my show,
but you listen to their show.
Speaker 5 (06:44):
Well, this is reality for me because.
Speaker 7 (06:47):
Your girlfriend, my girl, she don't love as she would
rather listen to a podcast that's not this one than
listen to me.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
I understand that, But like she's listening to podcasts about
the things she's interested in. What if she listened to
exactly what you do and pick the other person. That's
what I'm getting at, Like she may just not be
interested in sports, fair enough, But what if she's like,
I could listen to you, Shannon, I feel like, like,
what about the rock station. She's like, I'm not gonna
listen to your rock station. I'm gonna listen to the
(07:14):
other rock stage.
Speaker 7 (07:15):
Just as all of my friends outside of this group
right here, all of my friends, I get in the
car with them, you know, and if you know, if
I got to show that's prerecorded, they're not listening to me.
They're listening to like the same music, but it's not me.
And I'm going, wait a minute here, like you're you
don't care at all that I'm on the radio.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
Yeah, So I just think I think it's easy. It'd
be interesting to see, Like Ryan, you are somebody who
who let's say, you know, when you were on television,
if your girlfriend or wife was like, I want to
watch Sports Report, let me turn on Rob Bromley.
Speaker 5 (07:47):
It would it would hurt.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
I mean, it would sting.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
You know, we're both on at the exact same time,
do the exact same thing, and you're picking sexy Rob Bromley.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
None of my friend hurt.
Speaker 7 (08:01):
None of my friends are impressed with the fact that
I'm on the radio. They do not care. They before
they don't even listen.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
Not like that too, but I do think so.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Look, I mean it's clearly crazy that he said you
can't listen to her, But I do think if you
put it closer to home to the thing you do.
And you said, what if my spouse or girlfriend liked
or liked someone else?
Speaker 3 (08:22):
Not music's little different because you can like multiple people.
But with a radio show, I think it would be
interesting to see how people would fix.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
And like you said that the scenario said she got up.
I mean they were probably in bed together. She gets
out of his bed at his house and turns on
Morgan Wallen his part.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
But now like if it's you're in a relationship, I
think I would be a little upset too.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
Well, you can like a lot of different music.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
I just say my ex girlfriend, my latest ex girlfriend,
she didn't like sports radio, so that was fine.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
But if I came in.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
One day and she had on Dick Gabriel and she
was like, this is where I get.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
My sports news, I might be like, I don't know
about this.
Speaker 7 (09:05):
I don't get that jealous because I know at the
end of the night where she's going, She's coming home
to Gabriel.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
We'll take no, we're not taking a break. Who's next?
Who's next?
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Gilbert Next, Gilbert, Gilbert roots and fruits Gilbert.
Speaker 8 (09:24):
What I'm telling about is what's happened to bo Allen.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
He's on the team.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
I would suspect actually on Saturday, when next Saturday, when
they play Mary State, I would expect bo Allen will
be the backup. So if you're what I think, Cutter
is just what I'm hearing. Cutter will start and Bow
will be the backup. I think they are hoping that
they don't have to play Brock or Gavin Wimson.
Speaker 9 (09:51):
I see, I just you know, listen to your show.
Speaker 10 (09:53):
I just never hear anything about Looe Allen.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
He's what a junior now he's a scene year.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
But you know when he transferred and went to the
other school, correct me if I'm wrong. Did he play there?
Speaker 3 (10:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (10:04):
He did, did well.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
Yeah, so he came back here because he and I
think he knew when he came. He probably when he
came thought he'd be the backup, and then they went
and got Gavin, so he became third string. And then
I think with Cutter, like if we were to be playing, well,
I don't know if let's say, appreciate the call. Let's
say we're playing Texas, there's five minutes to go, Gavin
(10:28):
and Brock get hurt. Do you think they're putting in Cutter?
Do you think they're putting in bo Out Lexton Christian
or Lexton Catholic.
Speaker 6 (10:34):
That's why it's so important they played Gutter Cutter this weekend,
but not knowing anything I worry about, like Cutter's future
if you just throw him in at Texas, although they
already threw him in at Florida out well, but I
mean that was unfair to him to just say get
up and I haven't thrown a ball yet, go throw
this hitcher out. But I'd be careful putting him in
tough situations.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
I think they probably want to give him this game.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
I think this game against Mary State is a chance
for both UK to feel comfortable with cutterr Ryan and
cut Her to feel comfortable with UK. Like I do
think it's kind of like, Okay, where's this relationship going?
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Game? Do you think?
Speaker 2 (11:11):
And that I think these this week and next week
is maybe depending a lot of what Cutter's future does,
is it UK? You know? I think the fact they're
going to let him get a lot of playing time,
a lot of snaps may entice him to want to stay,
you know, here longer than if he didn't play at all.
I can see maybe looking around and go somewhere next year.
Speaker 7 (11:27):
We don't need our last impression of him for the
season to be that Florida game. I agree, Yeah, so yeah,
it's good for him just for morale to get in there.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
And I think he'd be found with me saying that.
Nick Coffee just wrote me the Louisville host and said,
I told my wife after proposing to her that if
I ever caught her listening to Johnny the Free Grinshaw,
the marriage was up.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
That's a little Louisville radio. A lot of people Lexton
won't even know who that is. Who's up next? Burt
is up next? Burt? Go ahead, Burt?
Speaker 5 (11:50):
His name is the freak.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
Go ahead?
Speaker 10 (11:57):
Just a question. So, first of all, my life and
I are always wanted to attend one of your programs.
So we get to come in town to Lexington for
the Jackson State game on the twenty second. Hopefully you'll
be as well.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
Jackson State twenty second. That's during the week, right, let
me see.
Speaker 6 (12:16):
Where we are Friday night.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
That's a Friday night.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
So that Friday we are at Helicon Technolopelican, the the
IT company I do work for.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
We're at that so we are in Lexington.
Speaker 10 (12:28):
Yes, okay, great, appreciate that. And you know, just from
a defensive perspective, I'm really looking forward to this game
against Duke. I'm not trying to look past back now,
but I'm really looking forward to that game to see
where we're at. But you know, just who do you
think that we got that's gonna be able to guard
this Cooper Flag kid? Because I've been watching him and
(12:50):
we have.
Speaker 4 (12:50):
Nobody that's gonna be able to guard him, like straight up,
but we do, I think have a lot of options.
Dro I think when we play Cooper Flag, probably a
Mari Williams might start on him, but they're gonna try
a bunch of different kinds of people, you know, even
though they lose a lot in size. Some of our
guards will probably be on him a little bit. But
He's gonna be a tough defend for this. In many ways,
(13:14):
Duke is the kind of team that is built to
give defenses like ours problems, which is why I'm so
excited to watch him play.
Speaker 6 (13:21):
Yeah, he's a tough matchup because he's got size, but
he's very athletic. Like I don't think and Andrew Carr
has a chance with Oh he can't guard him Williams
a lot, but I mean Flagg will play on the
perimeter too, so it's gonna be a group effort. They
also have a guard that's projected top ten. I feel
good about the backcourt defense. Nipel Knople, Nipple, have we
pronounce it? Yes, he's another good player that you got
(13:42):
a factor a.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
Top He's a top ten pick as well. Duke has
three guys who might go into top ten. So I mean,
I'm with the call. I cannot I appreciate the call.
I cannot ryan wait to watch the Kentucky Duke. I
really am. I'm excited. I want that big game energy
back at the at the bar for that game that
I'm really excited for people to go. I'm just excited, though,
to play a game. It feels like we've had this
(14:06):
with Rupp at a few games, like when Auburn came
in or Alabama, and it's felt like big energy. But
I can't think of the last time this fan base
has been looking forward to a game outside of Lexington
like this since probably the game against Duken Zign.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
It has Man, it's been a long time, but we're
all excited to see what they can do. You know,
we mentioned about trying to guard Cooper Flag. I think
with a Mario we I think Brandon Garrison will probably
get a couple of shot. Least, he's athletic enough. I
think maybe can body up with him out in the
perimeter a little bit.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Yeah, we'll see. It's gonna be a lot of fun.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
Shady Rays'll be wearing them on my drive to Chicago today.
Shady Rays dot Com premium polarized sunglasses.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
I don't know if those are Shady Rays, but they
should be. They are.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
Look at that and even if they're not, that was
a good life. Shady Rays dot Com they are Okay,
there you go. You go to Shady Rays in Louisville, Lexington,
a Kentucky based company. They've grown exponentially since they've been
with us. Check out Shady Rays. We are here at
in marketplace. The Christmas spirit is here and we'll be
right back. It's Kentucky Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
Work. I'm back.
Speaker 4 (15:08):
It is Kentucky Sports Radio. A five nine, two, eight oh,
twenty two eighty seven. Here at Corman h Kitchen in
Bath and the Corman Christmas Marketplace right on Floyd Drive.
Check them out all kinds of Christmas stuff. And then
of course you're regular kitchen in Bath work. When person writes, Matt,
I haven't been to a game Kentucky game since February
of twenty twenty, that's I guess covid and I've had
(15:30):
this room in Atlanta book since the day of the
Mark post Pope press conference. I think it's gonna be
a big blue awakening if we win, Like, when do
we win that game?
Speaker 3 (15:41):
What's our fan base gonna be?
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Like?
Speaker 3 (15:42):
We will be obnoxious.
Speaker 6 (15:44):
I hope we are.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
We will be unbearable, we will be really obnoxious.
Speaker 7 (15:49):
I hope that's Kirk Creese's big game too. I can
just almost foresee there being some sort of scrap.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
I mean, when's the last time we beat Duke in Nevin?
Oh been a while?
Speaker 6 (15:59):
Have we beating him in the event one of the
first ones I think.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
I mean, we lost with Zion.
Speaker 6 (16:04):
If I'm not mistaken, we have the worst record of
the four teams because we're.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
One and six in our last seven but we beat him.
We beat him with when did we beat him? John
Wall didn't beat him? Did Jamal Murray beat him? Jamal
Murray did. Jamal Murray is the team that the Jamal
Murray team. I could be wrong about this, Corey used
I think Jamal Murray beat him.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
I think that was I think that's the only time
we've beaten him in this event. I'll say this.
Speaker 6 (16:29):
About Atlanta and that crowd. Last year, I went to
un C Kentucky in Atlanta, and I know the year
didn't go liked, but that game had some like so
much energy that felt like an old school game. So
I'm confident there'll be another crowd show up in Atlanta this year.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
Or maybe it was Fox and Monk we lost in fourteen,
But that was when alex Porters had that crazy game,
yes right, like yeah, that was when we were we
were just absolutely amazing. We lost to Zion. We lost
a couple of years ago last time we played, so yeah,
what was it Murray's year?
Speaker 3 (17:05):
See you look at this still got a it's still
got a memory.
Speaker 6 (17:08):
We've lost five out of six against a duke.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
That's just exit We're gonna win this year. That's that's
that's my view, and it's gonna be very exciting. One
person writes, Matt, I'm so excited about Mark Pope. Should
we also send to thank you for John Caliperry. It
does seem like he got out at the right time
and that maybe he knew it was time to go on.
I think you should send a thank you to John
(17:32):
Caliperry just for his general time here. Let's not act
like he was being generous exity. He tried to stay. Yes,
he tried to stay. And the more I learned about
that situation, the more I thought the day it happened,
he was still trying to stay. Fast forward. Now I
can tell you it was a ninety five percent chance
he was trying to stay. That timeline that went down
(17:55):
where it got leaked on Sunday or got leaked early
on Sunday, got confirmed late on Sunday, but then no
contract was signed that Monday.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
He was trying to stay. He thought he was.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
Going to back Kentucky in a corner. He thought Kentucky,
in order to keep him, would build a new practice center,
would allow Brad to be an assistant coach, would allow
him to basically force the way he wanted to do nil,
and then UK just said, no, you broke your contract,
and they took no negotiating position.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
They didn't just not bend.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
They were like negotiations over and then he went outside
and did the thing.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
I mean, it's not a coincidence. Ryan.
Speaker 4 (18:41):
There were cameras standing out there when he walked his dog.
He went outside on the phone the whole time of
kind of a view of this will make the fan
base say we got to try to keep him, and
it didn't happen. The fan base didn't say anything, and
UK felt at that point that their decision was right,
(19:01):
and then on Tuesday he took the Arkansas job.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
I really think he thought UK would bend over backwards
to try to keep him, and I really think he
thought the fan base would be so it would be
a you know, a mutiny if he was getting ready
to leave. I think he thought he had both those
of his back back and neither have.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
And I also think on a personal level, I feel
sorry for him. In one respect, I think he was
hurt that none of those things happened. Yeah, I think
he was. You ask people that know him. He was
hurt that the fan base just said we kind of
want you to go. And I think part of the
problem is there's a number of people he blames for that.
I think I'm one of them, but I think there
are others, And you know, so I thank him for
(19:42):
his time here, absolutely, I thank him for all the
joy he brought me over the years. But I don't
think it's not like he bowed out gracefully. He tried
to keep that job dor That's just a fact.
Speaker 6 (19:53):
Yeah, he made so many great moves over the year.
But I think he made a really bad one meeting
with Arkansas in that hotel room.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
His Hubert finally got him on that one. His Hubris
finally got him. He did the one thing under his
contract he couldn't do. He could have met with Arkansas.
He just had to tell Mitch Barnhart, and instead he
met with Arkansas, didn't tell Mitch Barnhart, and they took
the position your contracts violate.
Speaker 6 (20:17):
Have you seen the details that came out not too
long ago about that meeting where the Arkansas ad had
to go meet a gown of Philly's hat who had
a room key and whispered where to go, and like
it was like this whole it was this whole sneaky thing.
So you know, he was trying to make a move
and it didn't work.
Speaker 7 (20:30):
And Cal I mean kind of back Kentucky in the
corner with the UCLA thing, right, I mean he got
the lifetime of contract out.
Speaker 5 (20:35):
Oh he did, for sure, but he had leverage at
that point.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
He leverage. I don't mind that.
Speaker 4 (20:39):
By the way, people criticized Mitch a lot. Sometimes I
think it's deserved a lot of times I don't, But
I will say this, it was a excuse, excuse my language,
ballsy call to look at Tohn cal Perry and say, no,
you broke your contract. You could have opened yourself up
for a lawsuit. Right, There's a ton of stuff that
(21:01):
could have happened, and he did and it ended up
working out for him. Ryan and that that was that.
That was a gutsy call.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Yeah, he talked about that when the the u c
l a job. He could not let Caliberry leave at
that time. Could not this time though, I think he
took advantage of this him meeting with you Arkansas and realized, Okay,
we need a change. This is my opportunity to make it.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
I think the UK Athletic Department saw that news break
on Sunday night and went, this got sent from the heavens.
I really do, I really do. Who's next?
Speaker 5 (21:30):
Vicky is up next?
Speaker 3 (21:31):
Vicky? Go ahead, Vicky? How do he do?
Speaker 11 (21:35):
Long time since last June? Painting my fence? Look at her?
You're I'm from Scythiana. I'm the girl likes to, you know,
run out a little bit crazy when we win. So
when we beat Duke the Puke, I'll be out there
on the highway running around nicked. So it's all, oh.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
I'm going yeah, wait a minute, a minute.
Speaker 12 (21:56):
So you're telling you not just a second, Vicky VIGGI
you're telling me that if we beat Duke, you will
go out on the road in Cynthiana naked, running up
and down the street.
Speaker 11 (22:09):
Already out there, Betty, I'm ready to go.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
I mean, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
You know, I lived in Harrison County when I was
a little child, but I'm not up to date on
the county laws, but I would think public nudity is
not encouraged in Harrison County.
Speaker 11 (22:26):
Now looking here, I'm down in the Holliwady, So you know,
ain't nobody out there but me and God and and
and some birds and animals.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
All right, there you go. So I'm not asking you
to send the video, but if you can.
Speaker 6 (22:40):
If you give your snapchat.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
No, no, Mackie, I'm not asking. I'm just saying maybe
you can, maybe.
Speaker 4 (22:47):
From an angle that couldn't show everything, you could take
a picture just to show that you did it.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
If we win against you, what you will? Okay? Wow,
all right, We'll just be careful and VI hang on around.
I'm not doing that, Vicki, but thank you.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
The banks is a family establishment, so please be careful
if you decide to run around.
Speaker 11 (23:11):
Hey, Bankers has a better best butterscotch pie you ever tried.
An So with that said, better day.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
I appreciate it. Appreciate the call, Vicki. I'm sorry, I
gotta go. Great, I got it.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
It's not naked, it's nicked.
Speaker 5 (23:24):
That's all he's saying.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
In Cynthia. If we win Tuesday, Vicki's nicked. I'm going
to Cynthiana. We'll take a break right back this day.
It's a quarterback of This is Kentucky Sports Radio eight
five nine.
Speaker 4 (23:40):
Two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, text Machine seven
seven two seven seven four five two five for Kentucky's
two and nine since nineteen seventy nine against Duke Wow
only two wins ninety eight in the tournament and the
Jabal Murray Champions Classic. So all the more reason that
we're gonna win next Tuesday in reverse the curse.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
You know you mentioned that Alex Poyter's game or that's
when it came out. He was number one on the
NBA draft board after that game.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
Yeah, and didn't stay there unfortunately, but he was. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
Our pregame show for basketball tomorrow will start at one thirty.
Here's kind of a cool thing. So I'm at I'm
gonna do the postgame show. I'm actually not gonna be
on the pregame show. But Ryan for k s Bar
has produced an all star group. Uh, you've got Jack Pilgrim,
but you also have Sean Woods. Yes, and maybe can
(24:29):
I say maybe it's a yeah, it's.
Speaker 5 (24:32):
Kind of.
Speaker 4 (24:34):
Like a doubtful or like a you told me maybe
maybe you're getting all squeamy.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
Well, it's a maybe percentage chance twenty.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
That's not even a maybe you getting me excited for twenty.
Speaker 5 (24:48):
That's a probably not.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
But this person will come on the show though. I
think one hundred percent.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
But twenty percent they're there.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
Yes, so is there Let me be honest with me,
is there any chance they're gonna be there?
Speaker 5 (24:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (25:00):
I think he's coming to the restaurant to watch the game.
They don't gonna be there early enough to be on
the pregame show.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
Okay, so he will be there to watch the game,
but you're not sure if he'd be there. Yeah, okay,
Well at least we'll be on the show and possibly
at the bar Is World Series champion Walker Buehler tomorrow
will be on the KSR pregame show. So that's kind
of cool. But if you had told me twenty percent chance,
maybe I wouldn't have teased it quite as much. Because
he came in here earlier today just so you know, shit,
(25:27):
Oh he did, And I said, who'd you get to
be on the pregame show with you?
Speaker 3 (25:32):
He said, Sean Woods and Walker Buehler.
Speaker 5 (25:34):
That's defender.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
That was pretty defenditive. And now it's to twenty percent.
That's a I don't know if he was just trying
to get my hopes of.
Speaker 5 (25:41):
It was a scuper scuttle butt. What are we doing here?
Speaker 2 (25:43):
I said, Sean Wood, Jack Pilgrim and maybe Walker Mueller put.
Speaker 4 (25:48):
A lot more less emphasis on maybe when you told
me that the first time. All right, we're since since
basketball season has arrived, and there are a lot there
are actually a lot of good college basketball games here
this week. I mean, you're it's gonna get overshadowed in
a lot of the other things, but there are four
pretty major games. So I'm gonna let each of us
pick one of the games for our Draft Kings. Carlo,
(26:09):
all you gotta do is pick who's gonna win. Because
the spreads aren't out yet, Draft Kings will put it up.
This will be a college basketball Draft Kings parlay. Now
this will not be part of it. But tonight North
Carolina plays Kansas. North Carolina and Kansas. Who do you
think wins the game?
Speaker 5 (26:25):
Kansas?
Speaker 3 (26:27):
Are the Kansas? Dude? Still hurt?
Speaker 2 (26:28):
If the Kansas guys are still not gonna play, I
go North Carolina.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
I think I think all of them, but one is
part okay, So you still gonna go North Carolina?
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Why not?
Speaker 5 (26:38):
And it's that Kansas, right, So I mean that's yeah.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
It's that Kansas.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
Okay, I go Kansas?
Speaker 3 (26:41):
All right? Thank you might want to keep up. What
do you got there? I got Kansas, all right.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
So then I'm gonna go UH with the other games
for the weekend. Let's start Arkansas and Baylor playing in
UH actually playing in Houston.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Who you got?
Speaker 5 (26:56):
You know what?
Speaker 7 (26:56):
I think I'm gonna take Baylor in this one. It's
a home as early in season, Arkansas going on the
road could be a tough game for him in that environment.
Speaker 3 (27:03):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
It's in Dallas, so Baylor in Arkansas in Dallas, so
it's a it's a neutral game.
Speaker 7 (27:08):
Well, yeah, I guess I'll still lean Baylor. I don't
want to pick Arkansas.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
I watched all of Baylor.
Speaker 6 (27:14):
They looked terrible against Gonzaga, but I think they bounce back.
We've seen Baylor win a basketball game in Dallas before,
unfortunately against Kentucky. So I have Baylor winning. Cal going
zero to two against Baylor in Dallas.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
Baylor got whacked by Gonzaga. I don't think they're very good.
I'm gonna go Arkansas, all.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Right, But we got to pick one for the pick?
Which one do we do?
Speaker 5 (27:33):
That's you dude?
Speaker 3 (27:33):
Yeah, you know I'm gonna take it for Baylor.
Speaker 4 (27:36):
Come on, No, but the best thing to do early
in the season in gambling is do the bounce back.
People overreact to the one week and then forget it
the next week. That's why you pick Baylor. Tennessee goes
to Louisville. Just who wins the game? Tennessee making the
trip to Louisville. Pat Kelsey is walking the streets, right,
he might walk in here and ask people to come
to the game.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
Tennessee and Louisville. Who you got.
Speaker 7 (27:58):
I'm gonna say, nobody's gonna be at that game. It's
not gonna be much of a home court advantage for them.
This is the lesser of the two evils here. I
think I'm taking Tennessee all right.
Speaker 6 (28:06):
Uh, two reasons. I like the balls, the crowd will
suck and Zakaia Ziegler and is in his nineteenth year
of college.
Speaker 5 (28:13):
Basta, Yeah, he's still playing.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
Wow, Tennessee's gonna be really is still at Tennessee.
Speaker 6 (28:19):
I remember sitting on my grandfather's laugh watching.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
They're still he's still there. Right, go ahead, what do
you got Tennessee.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
I think he's gonna be really good this year, So
I go Tennessee.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
I'm gonna actually go Louisville. I think. I think.
Speaker 4 (28:34):
First of all, I think, let me just say this
to your fan base, if you don't show up for
this one, I'm giving up on you as a fix
if you don't show up for this one.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
But I think they're I actually think they're gonna go.
They're gonna win.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
I'm already expecting my mentions to be blown up with
Edith Matt But you all collectively say Tennessee. So our
our pick for this uh will be Tennessee. And then
late at night tomorrow night, the game to watch as
you're falling asleep. Auburn and Houston playing at Houston. Auburn
won by like seventy points in their first game they
play at Houston.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
What do you got?
Speaker 7 (29:04):
I don't know who Auburn played in that game, but
it wasn't probably anybody to the caliber of Houston. Being
at Houston early in the year, don't know a whole
lot about these two teams. I think home court advantage
means a lot, so I'm taking Houston.
Speaker 6 (29:15):
I'm going Houston. They had similar scores in the first game.
Both of them stats are kind of similar to I'll
just take Houston to win a close one.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
Houston has been one of the best teams in the
last five years. I mean, they've been a really, really
good program. I'm taking Houston.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
Well, I'll go with the Masses, but I'm actually taking
Auburn went on the road. I think Auburn is really good.
I think Auburn's gonna be I think there's a good
chance that Auburn Alabama are two of the three best
teams in the country and they're in the same state
and they're both football schools, which is crazy. And then
I guess let's finish with a football one. Alabama at LSU. Alabama,
(29:49):
this is weird to me. Is a two and a
half point favorite in Death Valley.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
Who you got?
Speaker 7 (29:54):
I think I'm taking LSU in this one. Alabama has struggled,
but they're playing though for their football playoff chances.
Speaker 5 (30:00):
What seed were they?
Speaker 6 (30:02):
This is an elimination game.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
Yeah, the loser this is out.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
So this is basically and the winner may not be in,
but the loser is out of the playoffs.
Speaker 7 (30:09):
Maybe a worthy eleven, but anyway, I think LSU wins
this game.
Speaker 6 (30:12):
I love LSU getting points in Death Valley at night.
Don't care who the opponent is. If LSU's at home
in a night game and they're getting points. I'm taking them.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
I don't think I would ever pick against LSU at
night at home, so I'm going to LSU.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
Something's weird about this game. I don't understand why is
Obama is a favorite. LSU is just as good, if
not better. They are at home at night, which is
maybe the best home court advantage in all the football.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
Is LSU at night.
Speaker 4 (30:35):
I do not understand why they're two and a half
point underdog, so that worries me.
Speaker 6 (30:38):
They're bringing out a live tiger, bringing out a live
tiger the first time in like thirteen years, really, and
Livy Dunn and Paul Skeens are actually the game day pickers.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
I'm taking LSU to win, but I'm a little worried
about it.
Speaker 6 (30:50):
So LSU struggles with mobile quarterbacks, so I think the
thought process there is no road can have a huge gym.
Speaker 4 (30:55):
So LSU Baylor Tennessee and what was our other one, Houston?
Lu SU Baylor Tennessee and Houston are our ksr parlay.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
You can bet it starting later this afternoon. Who's next?
Speaker 2 (31:08):
Mike is up next?
Speaker 3 (31:09):
Mike? Go ahead, Mike.
Speaker 9 (31:13):
Hey, guys, Mike from Louisville, thanks for taking my call.
Having drinks last night with a friend up here in Louisville,
and he pointed out the obvious fact that Kentucky and
Louisville are in the exact same place for the probably
the first time in history in basketball program.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
That's not your proposed to bet to him, that's not true.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
By the way, Louisville's not the same place. Well, that's
that Louisville fans.
Speaker 9 (31:35):
Will tell themselves about having Louisville.
Speaker 4 (31:38):
Has won same games six games in the last two years.
They are not in the same place we are, but
go ahead.
Speaker 9 (31:44):
But but I mean, the point being that they both
have new coaches, they both have a totally new team,
they both have the same win record with those coaches.
Want to Oh, that was the point, not that they're
in the same place, you know. But so I proposed
to bet uh for five years who would have the
better record and who would have the most NCAA wins,
(32:05):
And so of course I took k he took U
of l What do you think my chances though?
Speaker 3 (32:11):
He's wrong.
Speaker 4 (32:11):
I mean, look, I think Louisville's gonna be a lot better,
But just take the rosters this year. Our roster is
significantly better than theirs. Now, that doesn't mean they won't
be good. I think they can be a tournament team.
Speaker 2 (32:22):
But like, our.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
Roster's better than theirs. Now, I will say this, and
I appreciate the call. I was thinking about this last
night when I was doing ESPN. You remember how fifteen
years ago we looked at the ACC as the best
conference by far, and we kind of thought we were
in the stinky conference that's flipped. The SEC is significantly
(32:45):
a better conference than the ACC. I want you to
name for me right now, the best teams in the ACC.
Who's the best team in the ACC? Dude, Dude, who's second?
North Carolina? Now, tell me somebody else that's gonna be good.
I'm not even sure North Carolina is gonna be good,
But tell me somebody else that's gonna be good.
Speaker 6 (33:03):
Ewon was tied with the North Carolina late in that game.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
If you know, Virginia is gonna be bad, Syracuse is bad,
Miami's gonna be down from where they've been.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
Florida State's gonna be bad.
Speaker 6 (33:13):
Actually, one of the better teams is gonna be Clemson.
Where we're Clemson is they had a big year last year,
got did well on the portal. So Clemson is probably
the third best team. We're gonna go into Clemson in
a few weeks. We are projected to be the eighth
best team in the SEC. And I'll tell you this,
unless Duke runs us off the court, we're gonna be
favored at Clemson. And they're the third best team in
(33:37):
their conference and we are allegedly the eighth best team
in ours. So the ACS, So maybe Louisville wins more
games Ryan, because the ACC is not what we think
of as the A C C.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (33:47):
There.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
For a long time, the SEC was viewed as kind
of being down a little bit. But boy, I'll tell
you it is loaded, especially this year. There's a lot
of good teams in the SEC.
Speaker 6 (33:54):
This year the top twenty five has non SEC teams
in it.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
Nine SEC teams and eight Big Twelve team Wow.
Speaker 4 (34:00):
I mean that's the other one is football, Like you
don't think about the Big Twelve is a good conference.
But three of the top five preseason teams in the
country are in the Big Twelve. Now, Arizona is in
the Big twelve, Cincinnati's in the Big Twelve. Like it's
the Big twelve is actually not a great football conference,
but has become a really good basketball conference. Tell me
(34:20):
about stocking morg You.
Speaker 2 (34:22):

NMLS A two five nine equalsy lender.
Speaker 4 (34:55):
Auburn beating who they beat by. They were up seventy
three points against Vermont, who made the tournament last year.
Speaker 5 (35:02):
They're not making a tournament this year.
Speaker 3 (35:04):
If they do. They were really in trouble. If they're
that much better.
Speaker 4 (35:07):
We'll take a break right back, sks O, what a
back final segment it is?
Speaker 3 (35:15):
Take you sports radio?
Speaker 4 (35:17):
Heyf I'm nine two twenty two eighty seven text machine
seven seven two seven seven four five two five for
It looks like there's some breaking news. We don't know
the details, so I won't say it, but it looks like,
uh Drew Florida could be looking for a new.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Basketball coach at some point.
Speaker 6 (35:31):
It's Todd Golden things on Twitter. Not a good look
for Todd gold Yeah, just uh, you can read it
in your spare time. It's it's you know, we'll learn
more about it before we talked about it, but it
doesn't look good for the for the Florida basketball coach.
I have more breaking news, Okay, Jack Bryan just added
two shows in Salt Lake City the first week of December.
Maybe we could go into once together.
Speaker 5 (35:52):
Nice.
Speaker 3 (35:52):
Wow, Wait, wait a minute, he's sixth and seventh.
Speaker 6 (35:55):
We're there on the sixth.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
Yeah, we're there on the sixth.
Speaker 6 (35:58):
So there we go. We can get we can get
to the Bob this. We could do some reporting live
on this Squating Time tour still going not quitting.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
He just said he was quitting to go to France.
Speaker 6 (36:07):
Fourteen minutes ago, adding new dates. Maybe he wants to
see us. He was probably listening.
Speaker 3 (36:11):
Dude, that guy, Yeah, that guy's uh, well, who knows
jelly Roll is playing in Lexington to night tonight? Yeah?
Anybody going to that tonight? You guys going all right? Good? Uh?
I saw him. It feels like he was just here.
Wasn't he just here like two.
Speaker 6 (36:28):
Well he was here, like yeah, I went within the
last two years.
Speaker 3 (36:31):
Yeah, so he wasn't that long ago.
Speaker 4 (36:32):
So he's here again. Seems like a really nice guy. Uh,
if you go into the concert, you can come by
the bar for before. We're gonna be playing jelly roll
hits all night. He's I only know that. I really
enjoyed him there. I went andtew one of his songs.
Didn't really think I'd be a fan, but metting We
talked for like fifteen minutes.
Speaker 3 (36:51):
He couldn't have been nicer. So I'm a jelly Roll fan.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
You came back after meeting him, like the dude is awesome.
We had a great time.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
He was in os seriousness. You very with this job.
Speaker 4 (37:00):
I've gotten to meet a bunch of cool people. He
I didn't really know much about him, but I'm not
not only was there not a nicer person I've never
talked to somebody famous who was that engaged, you know
what I mean? Shannon like that, like really wanting to
hear what you had to say.
Speaker 7 (37:15):
And it seems to be like a genuine guy. That's
the story you hear from that.
Speaker 4 (37:18):
I think he liked that none of us knew who
he was, and so that probably helped.
Speaker 7 (37:21):
There's also a kind of a cool little Kentucky tie
and his drummers from Mount Washington, Kentucky.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
Oh, from Bullet Camp.
Speaker 4 (37:27):
Okay, well that is I wanted channing your take as
soon as I saw the story meant to talk about yesterday.
It just felt like a Shannon story. What do you
think about the forty three monkeys that are on the
loose in South Carolina? Yes, there's a testing facility. At
first they said forty three monkeys were out, just one
you guys to know, don't.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
Worry about happened.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
And then they came out yesterday and they were like
all right, lock your windows.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (37:53):
There was like it was almost like maybe we need
to tell you that these are not the most fun
monkeys to be spending time around.
Speaker 5 (37:58):
Were they being tested or so something?
Speaker 3 (38:01):
Monkey laugh? They were a monkey laughs?
Speaker 6 (38:02):
Can I started a movie about this.
Speaker 7 (38:04):
Called twenty eight Days Later. You know how that ended?
Everybody turned into zombies. So I have a little bit
worried about this.
Speaker 4 (38:10):
Yeah, so, uh, but what's interesting to me because at
first the authorities were like, it's.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
Fine, monkey, monkey, see monkey do.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
But then afterwards, like this last time, they were like,
lock your door your South Carolina, close your windows, don't
let the monkeys climb around your bed.
Speaker 5 (38:27):
So what are we gonna do? We're gonna catch these
monkeys or how do you do that?
Speaker 6 (38:30):
They're using infrared to find the monkeys.
Speaker 3 (38:34):
What's the town in South Carolina?
Speaker 6 (38:36):
I'm not sure.
Speaker 3 (38:37):
Well, but you're you're right.
Speaker 6 (38:38):
The second update was like, we need you to fasten
all doors and windows. Attle more concerning what's going on here.
It feels like they.
Speaker 4 (38:45):
Didn't tell you something in the first update because the
second update was much.
Speaker 3 (38:48):
More urgent than the first update.
Speaker 6 (38:50):
Drop straight home, Yeah, your kids out of school?
Speaker 3 (38:53):
Where's this that again, South Carolin? I don't think they
can get all the way up. It getting closer, let's
say I think they'd have to drive a car.
Speaker 5 (38:58):
We throw them in a barrel? How do we alure
them in?
Speaker 3 (39:01):
I learned that you can do that. Who's next? Maddie
is up next, Maddie? How are you? Maddie?
Speaker 13 (39:08):

like two years ago at e k U Western, like
pre show kind of thing e ku.

Yes.
Speaker 11 (39:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (39:25):
I talked to Ryan about my brother Jayalen Dorsey, who
plays for Western. He will walk on from Maria and
me and Ryan just kind of, you know, hit it
off with kind of text on Twitter every now and then.
Even talked about one direction one time. And I know
we like to give Ryan a hard time, but the
other day I d d M maskingum where Keith Whitley
shirt was from, and he actually alsoered to send it
(39:47):
to my boyfriend who was asking about it. So that
just kind of goes to show like Ryan is like.
Speaker 11 (39:54):
Such a good guy, Like he's a wonderful guy.
Speaker 3 (39:57):
I mean, he he's.
Speaker 4 (39:58):
He's a goof ball and can be frustrating, but there's
not a nicer person than Ryan Lemon in the United States.
And you know if if I had it, if this
is a true story, if I had to have something
in a jiff besides my parents, Ryan would be the
first one I would call because he would drop anything
to help almost anybody. And so you do deserve those accolades.
Speaker 2 (40:23):
Well, I appreciate it, man, be that person.
Speaker 4 (40:27):
Yeah, if you would just like keep your shirt on
and like read the news and some things before the
show away. Yeah, like I understand what's happening. Yeah, exactly right.
He giveth and he taketh away, but his giveath is
being kind.
