I saw heard you say that you were talking to
Kentucky fans when you saw him around the way. Does
that include when I saw you last night arguing with
the two guys at the bar at roofs oh no, yes,
(02:03):
but it wasn't arguing. What was kind of arguing. But
then it became actually a very fun I actually enjoyed it. Conversation,
you know, no Kentucky fans. Yeah, I mean it might
have been like political maybe, but maybe not.
Speaker 7 (02:26):
They had aspects of politics.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
Yeah, I just I they were talking at the ball.
I was by myself.
Speaker 7 (02:31):
Were you wearing your Maga hat in public?
Speaker 5 (02:34):
It always gets me. I try to hide it.
Speaker 8 (02:37):
No.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
They were sitting there and I heard one of them
say something that was objectively false and I sat there
and thought it wasn't an opinion. He just said something
that was objectively false. And I was like, do I
want to say something? I could fill your foot tap
me up again, And then he said it a third time,
(02:58):
and I just went okay.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
I just have to say.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
They both had Kentucky ats on it, so I knew
it was like amongst my people, just a little family dispute.
And I said it, which led to us having a conversation.
And it wasn't a bad argument. It was they knew me,
of course, Well, I say, of course they knew me.
They're like man Jones, I listening you every day and
then next thing you know, we were talking and I
ended up talking to him most of the time.
Speaker 5 (03:23):
I liked them both really nice guys in Georgetown, so.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
You could have a debate, go back and forth a
little bit.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
They completely like, that's honestly how it should be. They did,
They listened. I listened to them. We ended up switching
subjects and talking about other things, and they were very nice.
Speaker 5 (03:39):
So so not an argument.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
I think people thought it was. At one point the
bartender came up and goes, we do, and I was like,
it's not that bad. I promise that it was good.
Speaker 7 (03:51):
I like you just when you hear something, you've got
a little trait that you have to insert.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
I'm pretty good now, not like I'm I can hear
any opinion.
Speaker 5 (04:00):
And let it go.
Speaker 9 (04:07):
Straight base.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
Come on, maybe not any, but most opinions.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
But this was just like he said something that was
factually incorrect, and then we looked it up, like he
kept saying. I was, I go, that's just not true.
I said, let's look it up, and he goes, I
don't trust that machine. And then I went all right, well,
then what do you trust if you're not going to trust?
Speaker 5 (04:29):
And then but it was.
Speaker 7 (04:31):
It was a positive conversation. Two people are having their nice.
Speaker 5 (04:34):
For they were not they.
Speaker 7 (04:36):
Were arguing with each other, and you're just like, hey,
I actually want to look this up and show you
that you're wrong. I sit there and just let them
be wrong till I know you wrong.
Speaker 5 (04:46):
I wish I did, but I don't.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
But I wouldn't have said a word if they didn't
have Kentucky hats on, because I felt like Ryan, that
means they're my.
Speaker 6 (04:53):
I mean, you're amongst your people.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
All right, So here's the deal, ks R comes to you.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
Yes, here's what we're do. There's one hundred and twenty
counties last I checked checked. I'm gonna pick five randomly today. Okay.
Then if you're in one of those five counties, you
will be able to call and make the case for us.
Speaker 5 (05:17):
To come to your house tomorrow. Okay, all right. This
gives the podcast people a chance to participate.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
See, but you have to have a place in one
of those five counties. Now, how do we pick the
five counties completely randomly?
Speaker 5 (05:31):
All right?
Speaker 4 (05:32):
We have a number generator. I've placed the counties in
order one through one hundred and twenty. Okay, Drew is
gonna give me a number, and the five numbers that
come in are the five potential counties. Then each of
us will eliminate one. So five people will make their case,
(05:52):
will each eliminate one, and what's left is where we'll go.
Speaker 5 (05:55):
Does that work?
Speaker 6 (05:55):
I like it?
Speaker 4 (05:56):
All right? So first of all, we're doing it this week.
Potentially this week or next week. We'll figure it out. Okay,
probably Thursday though, Okay, okay, So here we go, one
through one hundred and twenty, Drew, what is the first number?
Speaker 7 (06:10):
Okay? I am on a random generator website, and we
won through twenty and.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
One hundred and twenty one through one hundred and twenty.
That's what I said right now. First number that pops
up is forty six forty six.
Speaker 5 (06:21):
Six two one fifty Hancock County.
Speaker 6 (06:27):
Okay, Hallsville. You've never been there, have we not? No,
you may stop there in your book, but we've not
done the show.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
There's one potential county, all right. One through one hundred
and twenty.
Speaker 7 (06:37):
Here we go again.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
Number two is one O three one oh three. That
would be nineteen seventeen fifty thirteen eleven nine seven five
three rolland County.
Speaker 6 (06:49):
Rolly, Candy Forehead more hit.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
So now either Handcock County around have we got three more?
Speaker 4 (06:55):
Go for it?
Speaker 6 (06:55):
Drew?
Speaker 7 (06:55):
All right.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
The third ball reads one sixteen, sixteen one twenty one,
nineteen eight.
Speaker 5 (07:02):
Wayne County.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
We're just down there was that where we were, No,
we were in Cumberland. Still we didn't do a show
in there.
Speaker 6 (07:12):
Monacella Pool Hall, the Burgers.
Speaker 7 (07:14):
Past Wayne County High School.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
By the way, I'm eliminating Fayette, Kenton, and Cumberland.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
Because we've just been to those three. Okay, one through
one hundred and twenty.
Speaker 7 (07:24):
All right.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
Ball number four reads one O six, boy, we are
one eighteen one fifty one twelve, one oh nine one
Shelby County, Shelby County.
Speaker 5 (07:35):
Shelby County.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
I will tell you, uh, Ryan, that will be his
early favorite. Since we have to be in Shelby County
Thursday night for something else, I can tell you if
you have an entry from Shelby County, Ryan Lemon is
likely to be for it. Considering we have to be
in Shelby County Thursday night, we're we're saying we're picking
our menu Thursday night. Did you know that some of
(07:57):
our new menu items the people there they're making them
on Thursday night and then we'll pick which ones we're keeping.
Speaker 5 (08:03):
Them, which one we're not.
Speaker 9 (08:04):
Do get do I get to be there?
Speaker 5 (08:05):
You can be there? Yes, cool.
Speaker 7 (08:07):
I forgot to tell you last time we did this.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
This is the people may not know how this works.
So most there's like four food manufacturers food companies that
do restaurants in Kentucky, but really two do probably ninety
percent of Right, you can get specialty things like we
get our We're gonna get our burgers from a special
like you could. But then there's the one that gives
you most of your food and most every restaurant you
(08:32):
go to get them from the same places. So one
of the places is in Shelbyville, and they they teach
you how to make the items that then you cook
in your kitchen. Right right, So we're adding new items
and they have this thing. Well, they're where you say
I want X, and they'll make twenty different versions of
(08:53):
it and you get to choose which one you want.
But that means eating twenty different versions of an eye.
Speaker 9 (09:00):
I remember when we did this, the first time we did.
Speaker 5 (09:01):
This, when we open it, yes, well we're doing it again.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
And that's Thursday nine, and Mario's gonna film some of
it if assuming they led us.
Speaker 5 (09:11):
But you do eat a lot of food.
Speaker 7 (09:12):
I remember the last time she said, take one bite
of everything. It's just too much to eat. I ate
one of everything. I was so sick I could barely
drive home. I didn't think I was gonna.
Speaker 6 (09:20):
Live with so much fun though, we're a Miseraba run
it back, all right?
Speaker 4 (09:24):
One more county one, three hundred and twenty. All right,
final number, many, yeah, one more. Let's get out of
the hundreds.
Speaker 7 (09:29):
Final number. Drum roll.
Speaker 6 (09:30):
Please stayed in the hundred.
Speaker 5 (09:35):
You've made it to where it was over.
Speaker 6 (09:37):
That is Spencer, Cat Spencer County, J D. Shelburne.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
If you are in one of these five counties Hancock Rowing,
Wayne Shelby, Spencer, Hancock rownd Wayne Shelby, Spencer tomorrow when
I ask you call in and give the case for
us coming now, because we're doing it like the we
will do it.
Speaker 5 (10:02):
We will do it.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
We can do it at a house, we can do
it at a community place. We can even do it
at a business. But you can't, like bring a crowd,
so we could sit at your business, but you can't
make it an event that makes sense because you can't
use it as advertising, but we can't use it as
a host.
Speaker 5 (10:17):
Sure, everybody, it makes sense.
Speaker 7 (10:18):
It makes sense.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
But you'll make your cases to why if you're in
one of those counties rolland Hancock, Wayne, Shelby, Spencer, why
we should come. So spend the day calling your friends
and figuring out what is the best case for your county.
Speaker 5 (10:30):
All of those are pretty easy to drive.
Speaker 6 (10:32):
Yes, we could go to all those without much difficult
could Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
I don't think we've been to Hancock or Spencer, so
two of those top five county have you ever even been.
Speaker 5 (10:40):
To have done? Have we done a show in Shelby?
Speaker 6 (10:43):
Yeah, we did one.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
It was like, oh, like an insurance office. Yes, we've
done it in Wayne County many times. We have not
done a show in Spencer County. We've not done a
show in Hancock County. We've done a few and more
heads So all right, those are the ones.
Speaker 6 (10:59):
I like it.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
I'm kind of looking forward to it.
Speaker 6 (11:01):
This has kind of fun.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
Yeah, we're only.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
Two in before I go the phones Middlesborough.
Speaker 5 (11:08):
Did you see my post about Middlesborough?
Speaker 6 (11:11):
Congratulations, Way to go, Way to go.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
The circle k in Middlesbrough Shannon, which used to be
a convenience store now is a circle k. There's two
parts of this. One I don't like one. I like
it's third in the country in lottery sales.
Speaker 9 (11:30):
You don't like that? Is that the one you don't
like that?
Speaker 4 (11:33):
I'm not a huge pull tab. I think that's people
shouldn't spend their money on that, even though I admit
occasionally I will. But but the reason it's number three
is we have three states right there. People cross the
county line, it's the first place they go to. Yep.
So slightly embarrassed about that. But what I'm not embarised about.
(11:56):
We are number one in the country in sales of
Polar Pop.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Number one for that one, not at a I bet
there's a lot of mellow circle k.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
The circle K in Middlesborough sells ten thousand Polar Pops
a week.
Speaker 9 (12:12):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
That is.
Speaker 5 (12:17):
A lot.
Speaker 6 (12:18):
It's a lot.
Speaker 9 (12:19):
That's something to be proud of right there.
Speaker 5 (12:21):
It is very listen, is a point of pride.
Speaker 4 (12:24):
Five hundred and twenty thousand Polar pops a year, half
a million Polar pops. People don't know the drink that's
in a massive cup sugar drink, make sugar drink.
Speaker 7 (12:37):
Think of the jobs you are creating in the styrofoam industry.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
The environment that we've crushed unbelievable five hundred and twenty thousand.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
Everybody likes a good polar pop, but to sell that
many every single day? What is going on down in Middlesborough?
Speaker 5 (12:54):
Not every day? That would be a lot ten thousand
a week.
Speaker 6 (12:59):
How we'll tell you going on.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
If I were a dentist, I would open up an
office right there for all the teeth they're gonna be
rotting out from those polar.
Speaker 4 (13:06):
Pops five twenty thousand polar Have you never gotten a
polar pop? You know? When we go to a gas station,
I sometimes see you walk out there with one of
those massive cups for sixty nine cents.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
And I'll have one that for a month later might
have another one. I can't do it every single day
down there.
Speaker 4 (13:25):
It's not that the same people come every day, although
they problem we do.
Speaker 10 (13:28):
We do.
Speaker 4 (13:29):
It's that in theory ten thousand come out. And by
the way, the Middlesborough Tourism account seems not the official one,
but the unofficial one seems to have posted and.
Speaker 7 (13:42):
No judge and Ryan some of them might be getting
diet soda. There's healthy options, there are.
Speaker 6 (13:47):
Healthy diets, polar pop.
Speaker 4 (13:49):
So congratulations to the circle K in Middlesborough right there
on the right there on the three state line.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
We need to go.
Speaker 9 (13:56):
Well, they put that on like the Bell County brochure
for tourism.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
I remember I told you where Morgan Wallen's from in Snaville, Tennessee.
Speaker 5 (14:04):
They have a sign.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
They used to have a sign that said home of
Tennessee's biggest hardies.
Speaker 7 (14:10):
Wow, I don't know yet.
Speaker 6 (14:11):
Well, now you've got to make your own sign claim.
Speaker 7 (14:14):
Let's go to Tory. Go ahead, Tory.
Speaker 11 (14:18):
Hey guys, good morning. So you're anecdote about Jalen from
earlier today got me thinking of like I was born
and raised Kentucky, in Essel County, and Kentucky sports was
kind of a part of my life before I really
knew what sports were. It was like faith, family and
the Cats for kinds of the thing. And then as
I got older, I recall checking your All's website in
high school whenever John Walla's recruitment was going on, and
(14:40):
then ultimately graduating went to college at UK, and UK
stopped being this larger than the life thing because I
developed some relationships that kind of gave me a peek
behind the curtains, so to speak. And what that led
me to believe is a lot of what goes on
up there, it's just human beings, a lot of them,
exceptional human beings that could do crazy things. But like
I was in classes with John Walling them and like
(15:01):
they were just kids. I was just a kid. So
like Vince Merrill's decision, I don't agree with it. I
don't think it's the best. But the reason I'm not
up in arms and like flipping him off in public
is because, like he's just a dude, and I don't
like it. But I think a lot of the humanity
is lost in sports, but like obviously in other aspects
of life. But they got me thinking and I just
wanted to make that point.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
I totally agree with that, and I could very much
expand on that. I appreciate the call. A lot of
what happens is just human beings being human beings, a
lot of Mark Stoops and Vince Marrow. A lot of
why that broke up is because it's two friends who
just didn't feel like the other one was nice enough
to each other that's really what it is. We forget
(15:43):
that these are people all the time, you know, we
forget that people in huge positions of authority can do that.
You read stories about how presidents make their decisions. Oftentimes
it's like I'm mad at you, I'll show you, I'll
do the opposite of what you want. Like it's just
it's human beings. And then when it comes to the players,
(16:04):
they're even more of just kids. They can be mad
that somebody went out with their girlfriend.
Speaker 7 (16:09):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (16:11):
So we we all that is something we always have
to remember because it's true, and we all have stories
of Man, why wasn't player X focused? Actually last night
he was out till five in the morning and the
game was at three to two, you know, I mean
we all know stories like that. If you're here and
we just sometimes we can't say I'm on the air,
(16:31):
but it's true.
Speaker 7 (16:32):
Oh yeah. As fans, players, coaches, they can often seem
larger than life really with any celebrity of people see
on TV. But the end of the day, everybody's a human
being just trying to figure it out as best they can.
I'm love the theory no one in life really knows
what they're doing Oh, I think the more you realize
people in just wakes up and they do their best.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
The more you meet people in high positions of a power,
you'll realize how dumb most of them are. Like you think, oh,
this is a so and so. They must really No,
they don't. They're just like you. They just happened to
get put into this position. We'll take a break, be
right back to Canzer. We should be proud. Ten thousand
(17:12):
polar pops in a week, you just cause Bullet County
can't do it. Hey, when you're looking at the mirror
in the morning morning, do you have spots in your
skin that worry you? Are their new areas of skin
that won't heal. Then you need a skin examination by dermatologists.
If you're out in the sun like I am, you
need to have it. There may be places need to
be removed. Owensboro, Bowling Green, Franklin, and Powderly the Kentucky
(17:33):
Skin Cancer Center. They can cure your skin cancer and
give you the best cosmetic result possible. There are many
five star reviews. They've got again, Bowling Green, Franklin, Owensboro, Powderly.
It's a Kentucky skin cancercenter. Dot com two seven eight

(17:55):
Let me tell you one cool thing that I saw
this weekend. I was driving home from our show in
Cumberland County. I drove to, like I guess, Etown, and
then got on the Interstate. And this may have gone
much more south than the Etown I don't know, but
from Etown to Louisville, you know, there had been the
(18:16):
firefighter that had passed away down at Dale Hollow Lake
and they were bringing I guess the body back. Every
overpass from Etown to Louisville there were firefighters and trucks
standing over the overpass. The body must have been behind me,
(18:37):
not very far because the people the firefighters were standing
they were like, I don't know about saluting, but they
were standing there like in respect. The lights were going
and then there were police officers some like pulled over
on the side of the road with their lights. Every
single overpass from Etown to Louisville, going into and I
(19:00):
got off the Interstate past the Gene Snyder there were
fire trucks and I noticed they were from all over
the state. I saw one as far as Nichols County
that had clearly driven there for that. I thought that
was a really cool thing.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
Powerful man. Hearing you say that kind of gave me
chili bumps. It's a powerful movement to see how the
fireman moment moment recognized as one of their own.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
Yeah, it's pretty cool.
Speaker 7 (19:20):
Yeah, I mean, you hate a tragedy like that, but
seeing the response and everybody come together in that tribute,
I mean, that can be very tough.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
Can you add all of them up? It was probably
two hundred. That's awesome over the course of over the
course of each each one that I went past just.
Speaker 7 (19:34):
To be a stopper, they'll pass by for a split second.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
And I don't even know they have gone way way
farther than that. I mean, I just picked up the
interstate out of detail. So very cool, and salute all
those people. Chase, go ahead, Chase.
Speaker 10 (19:50):
Hey, it's been fat while since I've got it all
in on the working man now, and I listened to
you all on the radio when it from out driving
and stuff. Still, but I finally got a week off
in Panama City Beach.
Speaker 5 (20:06):
Wow. What kind of work do you do now? What
kind of work do you do now? Chase?
Speaker 10 (20:12):
I'd like to give a shout out to Cumberland Family Medical.
I work on a medical place.
Speaker 4 (20:17):
Now, well, good for you. All right, So what are
you doing in Panama?
Speaker 10 (20:23):
Well, we're just having a big vacation. But I wanted
to give a quick a little high Arlendsey Wilson's off
team about a month ago won the NAI National championship
for the first time in program history. And it was
funny because it's the year after I left.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
Oh well, little ewing theory there with you. As soon
as you went, they took off. Well, congrats to Lindsey Wilson.
What are you gonna do to celebrate in Panama? You
got a wild night ahead of you.
Speaker 5 (20:54):
Chase.
Speaker 10 (20:56):
No, we're just I'm about to go to chill on
the beach and I'll with Shrine and the Shannon. We're here.
But I went to golf a couple of days this
week and get ready for Russell County two man.
Speaker 5 (21:08):
What's Russell County two man? That sounds kind of dirty.
Speaker 10 (21:13):
It's the biggest two man golf tournament in the.
Speaker 4 (21:16):
Whole Okay, all right, so you need to make sure
you say God, make sure you say golf, Chase Man.
Speaker 10 (21:25):
But I also wanted to say the guys in Russell
County for the satellite campon this week and they were
all great and another fun pipe that you all know.
Bob and James sound has some corvette.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
I've heard that. I appreciate the call. Bob and Jamestown
does have a corvette, which you could guess by what
he says, and I could see it.
Speaker 12 (21:47):
You know.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
He came to Shannon's concert in the Somerset and brought
his wife. His wife only gets out because she wanted
to see Shannon walking out that night.
Speaker 5 (21:55):
Understandable. Yeah, he was.
Speaker 4 (21:57):
He was at the show and uh in come can
too down at Mike's landing. Peggy, go ahead, Peggy.
Speaker 8 (22:04):
Good morning, Hey, good morning. I jumped the gun a
little bit because I was colem because I'm from Shelby. Gunny.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
Tomorrow. The contest is tomorrow, Peggy. I was very clear
about that. I was going to disqualify people who called early.
I won't do it to you, but the contest rules
were very clear.
Speaker 8 (22:23):
It's tomorrow, okay, But I do have another thing.
Speaker 5 (22:28):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (22:30):
You're talking about the firefighters being over the overpasses. That
happened everywhere, and that is one of the most bone
chilling things. You see ever for a firefighter who is passed.
Speaker 4 (22:49):
Yeah, I didn't even know that it was going on
until I was on the road. I'd heard what happened
down there. And again I'm assuming it was bringing the
body from the lake. I actually don't know that for sure,
but that's my assumption since it was going for so long,
and uh it was.
Speaker 5 (23:05):
Yes, it is very powerful. You're exactly right.
Speaker 8 (23:08):
And I have participated in it with our with our apartment,
and it is very moving.
Speaker 4 (23:17):
Yeah, totally agree with you. I appreciate it, appreciate the call.
Eight five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven.
Some of our sports at UK got some good news
this weekend. I'll give you some positive news. When we
returned KSR.
Speaker 7 (23:30):
TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll make them Kay.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio present it by Stockton Mortgage.
Speaker 9 (23:38):
Here's Matt Jones.
Speaker 5 (23:39):
You know I love this song.
Speaker 9 (23:40):
Show it's great.
Speaker 5 (23:41):
I don't like this version of it.
Speaker 9 (23:43):
You like the live version. I'll just take a five one.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
Can you do you not have it?
Speaker 9 (23:47):
It's not yours. I could probably find it on YouTube.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
Yeah, that we that the live one's faster and I
like it. It was going to be Uh, that was
going to be what I used on the UK football
postgame show for every time we won't And then I
just didn't do it like every because because you because
back when we weren't winning and I was doing it.
One time, we came in at night after having beaten
somebody and this came on and I like this song,
(24:11):
and I was like, you know what, this should be
the signal to we won a football game.
Speaker 9 (24:16):
What's the song you play when you lose?
Speaker 10 (24:18):
Though?
Speaker 9 (24:18):
Because that would probably be played more often.
Speaker 4 (24:20):
Yeah, I had thought of that, and then I just
never got around to it, but not this version.
Speaker 5 (24:25):
Play the play that.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
Look up the live one for the next because and
you can just sit there and picture Drew if we
had won a football game at night coming in bam.
Speaker 7 (24:36):
It doesn't have quite the Uh So the other one's faster. Yeah,
I want I want some celebration music and I don't. Yeah,
he was He's going too slow right there? Uh one
person Wright's mad.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
I was at Roosters, saw you arguing with the two guys,
I don't say arguing, talking, debating.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
The fact that the bartender came over. Let me think
maybe it was a little little heated there a little bit.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
Uh, My buddy and I were worried about you, but
then I said, just wait, Matt'll win them over, And
then you did.
Speaker 5 (25:08):
Yeah. I don't know that they agreed with me, but
by the end we were good.
Speaker 7 (25:14):
But you're your best friends. About the end.
Speaker 5 (25:17):
Him the whole time. It's the exact opposite.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
Normally, if I go eat, I don't want to talk
to anybody, but I ended up talking to those two
dudes the entire meal and enjoyed it.
Speaker 7 (25:27):
You're all gonna maybe go out again, good.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
Like I got the I got the you know, I
we got it.
Speaker 7 (25:34):
In the beginning of like some lifel bondering.
Speaker 5 (25:36):
If I see him again, I'll go, what's up, guys?
You still were wrong?
Speaker 6 (25:42):
Come around.
Speaker 4 (25:44):
One of the guys I think came around. The other
one he wasn't going to. But it's okay, didn't matter.
You don't have to always uh, you don't have to
always agree. That's the way it goes. Savvy Swords commits
to Kentucky the women's basketball team. Samavy Swords her best
name in the history of basketball.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
I would say definitely. If not, it's got to be
in the top two or three, right.
Speaker 5 (26:09):
I mean, first of all, her her parents named her Savvy.
Speaker 6 (26:13):
They knew what they were doing.
Speaker 5 (26:14):
That's kind of awesome.
Speaker 4 (26:16):
Last name is Swords, Savvy Swords. I don't know if
she's good at basketball. I do know she's a top
ten player in America. Yes, Kentucky now has two top
ten women's recruits coming in two. That's the We've never
had one and we're gonna have two.
Speaker 7 (26:34):
With a name like that. She's a dual threat.
Speaker 5 (26:38):
She is a dual threat because of Swords.
Speaker 7 (26:41):
Oh, he is really proud of that.
Speaker 5 (26:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (26:44):
It took me a min better in writing when you
spell dual different.
Speaker 9 (26:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (26:47):
Saved them for the internet.
Speaker 5 (26:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (26:48):
No, but two huge commitments with her and Madden Greenway,
who's been committed a while. I mean, I think they're
ranked ninth and tenth in the class.
Speaker 5 (26:56):
That's it's kind of exciting.
Speaker 4 (26:58):
Yeah, you know, every time one of these things happens
in UK sports going forward, I'm thinking about the twenty
point six million dollar revenue ship and I'm thinking, what
is Kentucky showing that they want to be good in?
Clearly to me, Ryan, if you're bringing in two top
ten women's recruits from high school. You are putting money
(27:22):
into women's baskets.
Speaker 5 (27:23):
You are right. We know they're going to put it
into men's basketball and football. Are those the.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
Three guy made the argument two. A lot of the
UK baseball guys have come back. They think they're putting
some money into baseball.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
So it's base has a huge class base, the number
one portal class. So is it the case that UK's
like these are the four.
Speaker 6 (27:43):
Yep, I think they have. I think it's obvious.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
Now I've heard that the swim team scholarships. Again, this
is not this isn't scooped that, this is scuttle, but
but they are significantly reducing the number of members of
that team. Yeah, have you heard that? No, it's just
what I've heard. I don't know if that's true or not.
But this may be part of this whole thing. But
clearly women's basketball is going to be.
Speaker 5 (28:09):
A focus. If you're getting two top ten women.
Speaker 7 (28:12):
Yeah, they have two blue chip recruits and one is
from Minnesota and then Savvy Swords is from Canada. So
every once in a while you get one that's kind
of local and they bring in. But to get two
of the top girls in their class and not even
be near Lexington. It's there's a massive recruiting hall for
Kenny Brooks and his first big class.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
And people say, are we going to be good this
coming year. I know we don't have George Aymore, but
we should be right.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
Got to play guard from wake Forest. I think they's
supposed to come in and really.
Speaker 7 (28:40):
The girl from Liberty got a lot of size back
to with the keystrack. They have the big three coming
back inside, so you know it.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
It is interesting to me to see how Kentucky decides
to distribute money every decision going forward. When you see
it in any sport, you have to remember that it
plays off what they can do in the other sports.
So when you see a huge commitment in women's basketball,
that is saying that that money's got to come from something.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
Yeah, he's put all that money in the renovation Memorial Coliseum,
so they're gonna now invest in their product that plays there.
Speaker 5 (29:19):
You know, but it will be interesting to see what
some sport has to suffer.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
Well, we talked about like you mentioned swimming. I never
hear anything about volleyball.
Speaker 5 (29:28):
Track. Volleyball is the what I worried wonder about.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
Yeah, because we're not hearing anything about volleyball, and that's
a team that won a national championship a few couple
years ago.
Speaker 7 (29:38):
I mean, they're regularly winning the SEC the programs.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
It would be interesting to kind of find out where
are they on volleyball, like, are they really going going
to play it?
Speaker 6 (29:50):
Will we find out that the breakdown? Will that come out?
Speaker 5 (29:54):
I don't know. I don't think so well.
Speaker 4 (29:57):
I'm gonna ask Mitch, but I don't know if they
will say we spent three point one uh huh. You know,
they put their athletics department into a private thing, but
they have committed to still releasing all the money as
public records.
Speaker 5 (30:16):
But will they do it? Yeah, I guess we'll see.
Speaker 4 (30:20):
They committed when they did it, they said we will
release everything. We'll find out if that's what happens.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Because if you're the coach at one of those sports,
it doesn't get money, and you see what money they
don't need to do the other programs. I mean, you
gotta wonder, well, then why am I here doing my
job if they're not even believing me my program.
Speaker 5 (30:35):
You're gonna hear a lot of that over the next
few years at a lot of schools. Let's go to Jeff.
Speaker 12 (30:39):
Go ahead, Jeff, Hi, guys, question in a comment. If
it pleases the court, go for it. Questions quick any
trepidation on Yellowitch's activation over here, eligibility A.
Speaker 5 (30:55):
Little bit worried.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
I mean not because I know any specific thing about him,
but the but the you are seeing more and more
stories across the country that the visas, like schools are
very worried about visas for their international students, that they're
not coming as quickly, that it's not as clear what's
going to happen. I think you know, there was, uh,
(31:19):
there was supposed to be a basketball tournament over here,
and like the Senegal women's team, half the players would
were not able to get visas to even playing it,
so they had to withdraw it. I would assume, I'm
going to assume he'll be here until I hear that
he's not. But I do think it may not be
at Kentucky. But there are going to be schools that
(31:40):
are not able to get their players over here, and
so I don't know. I would assume if any of
them can, it's Kentucky, but we'll see. Yeah, who knows,
But yeah, I have not I have not heard anything
specific to Yellovich yet.
Speaker 12 (31:59):
Gotcha the comment. I want to take the stand that
the seeking the sharpshooter was a fool's Errand if you
look at Kellen Grady, Lamar Wilkerson, and Kobe Brea, they're
all slow footed on defense. They're not three level scorers.
They run the shot clock down and get a challenge shot,
(32:21):
and the offense kind of gums up versus adding Aberdeen's
a dynamic player who still gives you thirty five percent
from three and I think that actually has made us
as elite as we could have been in that scenario.
Speaker 4 (32:32):
What do you think I have to wait and see.
I mean, maybe I appreciate to cal. I'm not gonna
I'm not gonna defame Kellen Grady and Kobe Braya because
I think they were both really good for us. Would
a different guy have been better, who could do more things?
I don't know because we don't have a way to
compare it. I did see in the NBA draft preview
that the Athletic did. They said they were picking Kobe
(32:53):
bra to be draft but said he was quote the
worst defender in the entire NBA draft, which confirmed I
think our views when we watched that. While I loved him,
he couldn't guard anyone. Literally said, worst defender in the draft.
Speaker 7 (33:08):
Yeah, we can all believe that a little slow footed
kind of got a little old man to his game.
Now those knees aren't what they used to be. But
when he can shoot the way he does, he's still
getting picked, even though there's not a lot if you shoot.
Speaker 4 (33:18):
Fifty and you're six seven, because apparently he got measured
at the combine at six seven.
Speaker 5 (33:25):
I didn't really process that he was that tall here,
did you?
Speaker 2 (33:28):
He became a better offensive player all round by the
season went on defense, it's just what he's not.
Speaker 6 (33:34):
Gonna get any better. You're taking him to be a shooter.
Speaker 4 (33:37):
And our team we couldn't guard anybody. No, that was
just the team that was not like this year. It
was clear Mark Pope saw, I can't put a team
out there again that doesn't guard anybody.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
So you look at this year's team, you gotta think
Otega is going to take a step up shooting wise,
Aberdeen to step up Low, a step up.
Speaker 6 (33:55):
All these guys will be better shooters.
Speaker 5 (33:57):
Why it seemed like the I mean, why would you
say they're going to be better.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
Guys just seem to get better, you know, their second
third year in the end the you know what. And
Jasper Johnson maybe the best shooter of anybody on the team.
Speaker 4 (34:08):
That's the thing I don't think anybody really processes is
that he's he's a great shooter. We think of him
as this great athlete, but he also can really shoot.
Speaker 7 (34:16):
Yeah, Jasper will hopefully be uh one of their sharp
shooters in Aberdeen. Uh forgot the exact number, but he
started like five games last year because of the injury
and shout around forty percent when he was the starter,
playing starter minutes for Florida. So he just hasn't had
the full sample size to know what he'll be when
he gets here.
Speaker 4 (34:32):
Yeah he if I'm nine two eight oh twenty two
eighty seven. Text machine is seven seven two seven seven
four five two five four.
Speaker 8 (34:38):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (34:39):
Tell me about Stocktor mortgage.
Speaker 2 (34:40):

Savvy is short for Savannah. I prefer savvy. There's a
lot of Savannahs in the world. Do you know of
any other savvy? No, I don't Savvy's.
Speaker 7 (35:16):
I don't even know any other swords. What do you
like foam swords in the student section?
Speaker 4 (35:20):
O Savvy's what a great name. We'll take a break
right BACKKSR.
Speaker 5 (35:27):
Walking back.
Speaker 4 (35:32):
I love the idea of that. When they then yelled
if we had won, if we won football games. But
it didn't catch on, mainly because I didn't do it.
Speaker 3 (35:39):
Just like what was it a touch me to me on?
Burn me down for that catch either can't believe that one.
Speaker 6 (35:44):
Can't believe that one didn't work.
Speaker 5 (35:46):
Wow, you would think they would all do well, but they.
Speaker 9 (35:49):
Didn't share nothing, says third down like Marty Stewart. U.
Speaker 5 (35:52):
No, that's exactly right. What verse rites man.
Speaker 4 (35:54):
I was listening to ESPN Radio this morning and they
had your voice come on saying breaking news, Kevin Durant
has been traded.
Speaker 5 (36:01):
I thought it was very cool to hear. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (36:04):
So I was on the air when Kevin Burke got traded,
and so I did the I went breaking news and
they played the little thing and I announced it and
now they're using it on all their promos.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
So it's like it's one of a few times I
feel like I worked there.
Speaker 4 (36:18):
On ESPN too, they did not use wanting. They do
the what's the ABC News? Okay, you know because that
because it's Disney, they own that way more profession So yeah,
when they do when they do theirs, you remember from
Peter Jennings, they yeah, yeah, they do that.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
I'm was Shannon though. I think the Wanting nine a
you screaming it from the cast bar.
Speaker 4 (36:42):
They didn't do that, but they have me saying breaking news,
Kevin Durant has been traded to the Houston Rockets. And
then Norris Cole is my guest and he goes.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
Oh.
Speaker 7 (36:53):
Norse Cole Miami Heat legend norse Cole, Norse.
Speaker 5 (36:56):
Cole and our boys. Oh nice.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
I reminded him that when he played it Cleveland State,
he was in rapperena and I beat him at paper
rock scissors.
Speaker 5 (37:05):
Okay, really, he didn't remember.
Speaker 7 (37:08):
How does that even happen?
Speaker 4 (37:10):
We were trying to go through a door and it
was one of those you go no, you go, no,
you go no, you do you know? And I said,
how about paper rock scissors? And then we did it,
And of course then that led to Myron saying it's
rock paper scissors, which is the argument we've had on
this show many times before. But Norris didn't remember. I
did bring that up to him.
Speaker 7 (37:31):
But that's cool. You got to have the Kevin Durant moment,
one of the biggest trades in recent NBA memory.
Speaker 4 (37:36):
Got to hear hear my voice thankfully tomorrow let you
Last night, Chen is the last time I think we'll
ever see stephen A on the pregame show.
Speaker 5 (37:44):
Yeah for the NBA.
Speaker 6 (37:46):
Yeah, I couldn't watch it.
Speaker 5 (37:47):
It's awful. I couldn't.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
It was awful. As bad as that show has been,
it was worse last night than it's ever been.
Speaker 9 (37:53):
Agreed.
Speaker 4 (37:53):
He was screaming at Kendrick Perkins, who was screaming back again.
Speaker 5 (37:59):
And then the other guy, what's.
Speaker 6 (38:01):
His name, Bob Myers.
Speaker 5 (38:02):
Bob Myers goes.
Speaker 4 (38:03):
You know, just because you yell doesn't make it true,
which I thought was which I thought was a great
line by him.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
So the way, what's gonna happen when they put him
in out there with the Shaq and Barkley and all
those guys.
Speaker 5 (38:14):
I mean, they're not gonna he will be There will
be a revolt if they do that. They can't do that.
Speaker 6 (38:19):
They're gonna try, but they can't.
Speaker 7 (38:22):
They're going to can't.
Speaker 9 (38:23):
Slap them out of his shoes.
Speaker 4 (38:25):
First of all, he will ruin it. They cannot put
him on that show. I will drive to Bristol myself.
I have a key card. Oh my, you've driven to Bristol.
I've driven to Bristol. I have a key card. I
will go in and start yelling at people. You cannot
put stephen A on that show.
Speaker 7 (38:43):
I remember when we were there with you, we walked
by stephen A's office. I know exactly where it is.
We'll go knock on the door.
Speaker 5 (38:48):
I mean, why would you want to screw it up?
Speaker 4 (38:51):
If you have Seinfeld you don't say, let's just put
bobcat Goldwath on it. Seinfeld already works. You don't need
to screw it up.
Speaker 7 (39:00):
But you know they're gonna do it. The only thing
that'll save it is if Barkley and Shack just pick
on him and bully him into a locker every time
he's on there.
Speaker 5 (39:08):
Well, they will.
Speaker 7 (39:09):
That will make it a little bit entertaining. But to
be better off of.
Speaker 5 (39:12):
That trait, they put him on there. It'll backfire. People
will revolt.
Speaker 6 (39:16):
But they put him on every single show every day.
Speaker 4 (39:19):
But that's because in part they've never had good shows.
They have a good show. Don't screw it up?
Speaker 6 (39:26):
One of the best sports shows ever.
Speaker 5 (39:29):
No, it is the best sports show.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
Yeah, what are the best sports shows if you're looking
in the last twenty five years? Is it inside the
NBA and PTI, PTI? Is there any other one game day?
Speaker 6 (39:45):
I would put game day on the football game day, not.
Speaker 4 (39:48):
Basketball game Yeah, and that's what I mean college football
game day. Would you put anything else with those three?
Speaker 7 (39:56):
Not to that level? I love me some Good Morning.
Speaker 4 (39:58):
You got somewhat. Don't say he'sa don't say Gilbert Arenas.
Mario loves Gilbert Arenas is stupid YouTube show. Don't put
that on their But those are the three right there
doing great.
Speaker 13 (40:14):
Go ahead, Hey Matt quick comment. Hopefully they don't bring
the screaming a on that ship. I would certainly ruin it.
But my question for you guys today is what do
you think is more likely to happen. UK wins the
national championship in basketball this upcoming season or the UK
(40:34):
makes the college football playoffs in the next fifteen years.
Speaker 4 (40:39):
Basketball up to come upcoming season. I mean, I can't
pick you k to make a college football playoff. I
appreciate the call. I mean, we we've only come close.
Well we've never come close because they changed the format,
But if you still had the new format, we would
have only come close once. And that was the year
we had five guys get drafted in the first three rounds.
(40:59):
And I just don't see that happening. So yes, I
would think it's more likely we win the basketball title
this year than than the other.
Speaker 5 (41:06):
I agree.
Speaker 7 (41:06):
And if you're doing gambling odds, Kentucky's seventeen to one
to win the title right now. We would be like
eighty to one hundred to one to make It's to
make the it's to win the title. We're We're not
gonna win the title this year, I don't think, but
we're gonna win one in the next three years.
Speaker 4 (41:21):
And we are not gonna make a college football playoffs.
I'd like to, but I don't think it will.
Speaker 7 (41:26):
In basketball, you're in the conversation. You're one of five
teams going to this next year that's being talked about football.
No one is thinking what I'm talking about this.
Speaker 4 (41:33):

I get that is your chance to do the equivalent
of me with the dogs. What is the opinion that
you have that you know is unpopular, but you still
(42:17):
have it anyway, and you can make the case for it.
We do that once a year. We're gonna do it
on Wednesday.
Speaker 7 (42:23):
We homework run.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
People usually get mad at us by the end of
the show. We say something that people get mad about.
Speaker 4 (42:28):
But you know what, you all need to do your homework. Yes,
you need to do your homework. Mario, I'm gonna have
you do one too, unpopular opinion. You understand the premise
something you believe. We haven't done this in two years
because I was gone last summer. That'll be on Wednesday,

next time.
