and we are here. You've already put the shirt on
for the little Crooked Creek Safari.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
You ready to go?
Speaker 5 (01:33):
This is such a cool place and probably place ninety
nine of the people don't even know exist. There's a
hidden gym out here right where Anderson County, Shelby County,
and Spencer County. All meat, it's where there's where this
place is.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Yeah, I mean you gotta want to find it. Yes,
Like it's you're you're in the your back at you're
back here, I say, in the hills.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
But it's not really in the hills.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
But it looks like what it what it looks like
when you go uh back through eastern Kentucky. But you're
not far. I mean, this is less than an hour
from Lexington. All kinds of animals you can look on.
You said you have a Facebook page, right, the Little
Crooked Creek Safari they've invited us out for the KSR
goes around the states on the blue on the What's what's.
Speaker 5 (02:14):
The tour Kentucky Department high Tucky Department.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Of Highway Safety, Summer It's summer tour, Drew. There is
a zebra just a few feet from you. Yeah, I
was actually just thinking, I think this is my first
career zebra sighting.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
I've never really been a zoo guy.
Speaker 6 (02:31):
I don't know where else I would have run into
a zebra, So I think, whatever this fella's name is
right here is my first zebra.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
Might even get a photo later.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Well, I mean, if you've never been to a zoo,
I think it's probably safe to say that you're having.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
You can't think. I can't think of where I crossed
paths with one, So this is an exciting day for me.
I think Campbell. I think I've seen a Campbell before.
Where have you seen a Campbell? Uh? Church play?
Speaker 6 (02:54):
I'm pretty sure we like rent of the camel at
Christmas something like that. I've me and cam I've crossed
path amimal.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
So you're a Methodist, right.
Speaker 6 (03:02):
I grew up going to the First Presbyterian Church at Baudisonville, Kentucky.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
So the first Presbyterian Church has the money for well.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
We would go over to the first Baptist Church. Oh,
that's where the rich guys were.
Speaker 6 (03:12):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they had Campbell's as part of
their Christmas.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
Those Baptists all that money.
Speaker 6 (03:18):
But Zebras, this is my first one exciting day. Yeah,
it is very nice, beautiful at here.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
It's gonna be a little hot, but that's okay because
we got we're under a tent, which was very nice
of them to set up.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
And Ryan, are you gonna go have some fun with
these animals? I am yeah.
Speaker 5 (03:32):
Mario already took a little tour. But Eric Swisher, he
owns it out here. He said he's had it the
farm for like eighteen years, but it's only been open
to the public for the last two years. And he's
getting big crowds on the weekends and coming. See, they
got kangaroos, they got a sloth in there, they had
a baby Campbell was talking to us right before you
got here, So it's been kind of fun.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Baby Kimbell was talking to you.
Speaker 5 (03:50):
He was not happy with us being in his area.
Like we're by the way. All the babies are the
baby zebra, Baby Campbell. Baby, was that a lama out there?
Speaker 4 (03:58):
That's a lama, babby cow. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
Well I've seen a couple of those, but some of
these other things I haven't seen.
Speaker 4 (04:05):
They have what they say a sloth, a slatter.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
It's in a room where they have to keep it,
like when you say eighty eight degree two sloughs too sloths.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
Well that's good. They can be friends. I think that's important.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Well, it's I appreciate you these folks having us out.
They won the contest and we are here in Shelby County.
We're also uh In a couple of hours, we're gonna
leave here to go to the GSF Test kitchen to
finalize the new menu items. I hope you have saved
room in your belly for all the food we're gonna
eat this afternoon.
Speaker 5 (04:36):
Man, it's tough. They brought out donuts, we've got homemade
chocolate chip cookies, and I.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Know you're gonna eat those two.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
I's gonna have to I gotta eat those chocolate chip cookies.
Look under stearing me right, really good.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Yeah, but you're excited for our afternoon of food. I
remember when we did this last time, you didn't need
to eat for like two days.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (04:52):
It was easily, easily the most fool I've ever been
in my entire life. Almost got a hotel in Shelbyville,
and so driving back to Leccedon, I was an actual
I hear so much food and the nice people there
they warmed me when they started. They're like, just take
a bite and don't eat the whole menu item because
you're gonna eat sixty things.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
I was eating two of everything. Couldn't help myself.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
Yes, so we have we have narrowed our new menu
down to like twenty items, but we have different versions
of all twenty, and so we're all supposed to taste
different versions of all twenty. We know we're keeping the
wings and the cheese logs and a couple things exactly
the same, but there are some things like we're getting
(05:32):
like a new Burger, and we're getting new taco thing,
and we're getting new just various stuff, getting new boneless wings,
and they're giving us multiple versions, cook different ways of
all of them, and so you gotta try them all
or how are you gonna know which one's better.
Speaker 5 (05:49):
You have to try one bite of each thing they
give to you to try to determine which one you
like the best.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
But see that's the chicker. I was eating every version of.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
Each thing exactly because when you like, no, you're supposed
to eat every version of everything, because.
Speaker 5 (06:02):
Like one bite, one bite.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
But the thing is, when it's good, you don't want
to just eat one bite like this is good, I'd
like multiple bites. And that's Mario. Be careful, this is beginning.
You don't want to make that beginners. Like, for instance,
we're getting new potato wedges. They apparently have eight different
types of potato wedges. You gotta be careful or you're
gonna end up with more potato wedges than your body can.
Speaker 5 (06:23):
So it's not just one bite, it's a little bite.
Take a little bite of each thing they put in front.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
But that's all. It's easier said than done.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
But I am looking forward to it, and it's gonna
be nice to kind of finalize the the remodeled ks
Bar menu.
Speaker 6 (06:36):
Yeah, I cleared my schedule, these shorts, having elastic waistband.
I'm ready to get in the lab and lock in
make some bad decisions.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
All right.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
So the draft was last night, usually one of my
favorite nights. Yere now the first time for Kentucky that
there hasn't been a first round draft pick since two
thousand and nine. Also the first time for John cal Perry,
no draft picks since two thousand and nine.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
So at least when it comes to this, is so
seven longer streak for him since seven? Yeah, so he's
first for him. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
John Shire was the coach that had the biggest, you
know scene there. So let's just go over some of
the things I enjoy the draft, less for the basketball
and more for the the pageantry and all that's happened.
Cooper Flag went first. That was boring.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
This suit was boring. Just him, everything about him was boring.
He's boring.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Dylan Harper I had a trend. I looked at all
the players, five different players who are black on black
on black, which is a lot of all black, which
is what I wore to the barstool party. So I
feel like I'm kind of fitting in with all these
NBA players but five different guys all black.
Speaker 6 (07:41):
Yeah, you know big is not of your life, black slimming.
I assume they're all in pretty good shape, but they
could have let themselves go in the lead up.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
Big chains, big chain, like a lot of big chains.
I think the chains are back in, so it's maybe
time for us to get one.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
I think Jeremiah Fears already spent all of his money
on his chain. It is weird.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
A chain in tie is an odd is an odd dichotomy,
but a lot of chains.
Speaker 5 (08:04):
You were kind of a trench set are wearing. You're
all black out in Arizona. But now you gotta start
wearing the big.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Beau gets some ble. I need some vj Edgecombe went
to seventy six ers. Then we started with con Canipple.
This is where I thought things started getting interesting. He
went forth to Charlotte. He has five brothers. There are
five male nipples, and they uh a lot of nipples.
And the five of them each have a name that
(08:29):
starts with a K, so their parents named all of
them with a K.
Speaker 4 (08:34):
I'm gonna go ahead and say, Drew. I think that's weird.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
I think when you I don't understand why people want
to play games with their kids' names. I'm gonna have
five sons, We're gonna name them all K plus of
all the letters, that's the one I would have stayed
away from. If I'm gonna have multiple k's, I would
have done a different letter. I think that's too many k's.
Uh why do? And then their daughter they named like Lauren,
like they like they didn't put make her part of it.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
I think that's weird.
Speaker 6 (08:58):
And none of the de Kays were tradition, okas. It
wasn't like a Kevin. It was like Kerosene and Kritchen
Knight and Kettlebell. I mean it was just, yeah, that
that set the tone for we're getting away from the basketball.
These are the draft memories that we're gonna take one Kettlebell.
They're just all up there looking like clones of each other.
They lined up like those Russian dolls you stacked up. Yeah,
(09:20):
they lined up like them.
Speaker 4 (09:21):
They were.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
Then you had Ace Bailey, who apparently the only team
he didn't want to go to was Utah, and so
Utah just picked him anyway, and they're like, you're just
gonna have to get to learn salt Lake, my friend.
Speaker 5 (09:33):
The basketball gods played one over on him. Yeah, he's
publicly said I do not want to go to.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
You want to go there?
Speaker 3 (09:39):
They were like, I don't care you're going on. Then
Trey Johnson Shannon. I don't know if you saw his outfit,
but I thought of you suit on top shorts underneath
he looked like the A, C, D C guitars as
Young Angus Young? Why did he wear that shorts?
Speaker 4 (09:57):
To you?
Speaker 3 (09:58):
You did think it looked good A time a jacket
in shorts. No, I did not think it look good.
I listen, I don't know fashion, but I thought that
looked ridiculous.
Speaker 6 (10:09):
It kind of startled me because the tight shot it
was just his waisting up. I was like, that's a
pretty good looking suit, you know. I think it was
double breasted, had some nice looking buttons on it. But
then they slowly zoomed out and you saw the shorts
and like the white socks. That's when it became maybe
the most ridiculous suit of the night.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Uh. Jeremiah Fears, then the BYU Kid, and then we
got to Colin Murray Bowles, who when Toronto picked him, Uh,
they said that Colin Murray Bowles trial Raptors, and he
cussed and went beep like he was very angry. He
had to go to Toronto. He had to have known the
camera was gonna be on him. I thought it was
weird to have that reaction.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
Yeah, that's supposed to be one of the greatest moments
of your life. You get all the work, your whole
entire life to get drafted in the NBA. You have
that moment and then you show make yourself look like
an a hole.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
Whoa that felt strongly that strongly about it?
Speaker 5 (10:55):
Yeah, come on, man, the Raptors are spending millions of
dollars on you. You show a little appreciation.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
That mean, By the way, that's my first bust of
the draft. He's we played one, Yeah, I mean we
played against them. He was fine, but just he doesn't
really have a great build for the NBA. Now that
is you. Remember I said this Colin Murray bust. Then
Malik the kid from Duke went what a great story.
I think I knew his story, but I didn't really
focus on his story. Grew up born in the South Sudan, which,
(11:22):
if you don't follow the world news, is in just
awful situation, maybe one of the worst situations in the
world with civil war and all that goes to Uganda
gets discovered at thirteen, he's walking down the road and
somebody goes, you're really tall. Have you ever thought about
playing basketball? And he said no, and they said, well,
why don't you come to this camp? And then five
(11:42):
years later he ends up at Duke and the number
ten pick in the draft. That's one of the I mean,
what an amazing story. God's walking down the road in
Uganda after having escaped from a war torn country and
then becomes an NBA draft pick. If that's not like
the asked of humanity. I know he played for Duke
and that makes it, but still that's amazing.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (12:05):
I think he went to Luell. Dean started that academy.
It's like the only basketball court in the country. He's
went there and then wore number nine for Luell. So
very cool for that.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
You mean to do a documentary.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
You know that South Sudan team almost beat the United
States and Loual Dean started the team.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
But winning Gabriel.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Played on it, like the fact that the South Sudan,
which is in just a horrible civil war, could create
a team that nearly beat the United States. Loual Dean
is like he should win some sort of humanitarian award.
Number eleven was Cedric Coward, which the announcer said was
Colin Cowherd gotten picked in the draft.
Speaker 5 (12:42):
Did you hear that?
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Yeah, the announcer said, Colin Cowherd has been picked by Memphis.
I was like, well, I don't know how well he'll do.
Consider and he's fifty five and doesn't play basketball, but.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
He was considering coming back to school. I'm just glad
he stayed pro Some.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
French guy I never heard of got picked twelfth. Then
Derreck Queen went thirteenth. He went to New Orleans. Best
joke I saw during the draft, because you know Zion's
in New Orleans. Somebody wrote Zion got excited because he
thought New Orleans picked dairy queen.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
Shannon. That's a wrong thing.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
To say, but it is funny when they said Zion
thought they picked Derek Queen. I gotta tell you, I
already thought Derreck Queen had a chance to be a
buzz because you know, when you're chubby at eighteen years old,
staying in shape, and then you go put him with
Zion in New Orleans, which has the best food in
the world.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
I am already on bust alert.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
If he's down there with Zion in New Orleans, I'm
already worried.
Speaker 6 (13:41):
But you gotta keep those two apart. I tell Derek Queen, listen,
Zion's on this team. You're not allowed to meet him.
You don't get his phone number. You'll only see each other.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
On the court.
Speaker 6 (13:49):
I do not want you to hang on. No, I
don't want y'all near a bola gumbo together.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
Zyon. You are not allowed.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
They put that app that they're doing for the teachers
and the students.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
It could Tucky Zion.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
You are not allowed to contact him outside of official capacity.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
Gotta go through the Pelicans if you want to talk
to Derek Queen.
Speaker 5 (14:08):
No training table safe with those two guys.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
No, that's uh, that's good.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
I want to go over the second half and we'll
preview what Kentucky guys. I think one Kentucky guy goes tonight.
Maybe up to three, but certainly one. We will take
a break. We are here at Little Crooked Creek, uh Safari.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
In Shelby County, Kentucky. Bet you didn't know it's here.
It is.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
We'll be right back to Kentucky Sports Radio quarterback. It
is Kentucky Sports Radio. Some people like the trade Johnson
shorts thing. One person rights, Mario knows more about fashion
than all four of you combined. First of all, it's
not nice Trewe dresses all right, you should listen to him.
The shorts combo look good. I know it didn't.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
I don't care. Look, he'll regret that.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
That because that picture is gonna be with you forever,
you know what I mean, Like you're gonna look you.
You're in the Senate man. Like I love hoodie and
shorts much the next guy. But put on put on
some pants. Same thing for the draft, put on some pants.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
Well, it's kind of a trendy thing. These NBA guys
wearing these suits with shorts.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
I've seen who else has done it.
Speaker 5 (15:07):
I saw Lebron the first guy I saw this. Lebron
has done it walking into the draft, not the draft
like an NBA championship.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Wow, people wear crazy things to the NBA cha, I mean,
to the draft.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
That's like your wedding night. It's the biggest not of
your life so far to that point. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
One person writes, Matt, I have three brothers. All of
our names start with Kay, you don't know what you're
talking about. I do know what I'm talking about. I
think it's stupid, Like you can have it. Like I'm
not saying, what do you mean?
Speaker 5 (15:33):
What is it?
Speaker 3 (15:33):
I don't know, Like you can you can think it's cool.
I just would say to you.
Speaker 5 (15:38):
See, actually, I think the parents did the guy as
a favor by having some crazy first name. Takes the
attention off the last name. Yeah, it's an unfortunate name
to have, So you go.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
I'm just saying, if you're gonna have a lot of
the same letter K is.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
The one I'm staying away from. If i'm I would
not have I would not a out there. Yes, I'm
not for that, all right, So let's uh, let's go
quickly through some other things.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
First of all.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
Uh, then my favorite moments of the draft is when
people come out of the stands.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
Yeah, my boy Yang.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
Yeah, they picked a guy named Yang Hansen. Never heard
of that person, not convinced it was a real person,
but he came out of the stands. I like that
same foot Chinese guy just coming out of the States.
Speaker 6 (16:20):
My favorite moment of the draft night. All the mock
drafts had my guy Yang in the second round. He said, Hey,
I'm going middle of the first and I'm gonna show
up anyway.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
He said he didn't have good seats.
Speaker 5 (16:29):
He was funny, fun general admission seats.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
Yeah, he did not have good seats. They'd at least
put him on the front row.
Speaker 6 (16:37):
Imagine when you're like the local Knicks fan and you
want to go check out the draft and this seven
foot guy in a white suit said from China, sits
down next year.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
Half that is true. You'd have to be like, he
might get picked.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
There's a seven Chinese guy in a suit next to me.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
That's straight. Well, I'm a Yang Hanson fan.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Walter Clayton junior. Yeah, goes to Utah eighteenth.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
That's good.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
That's another example of a great that's the good part
of the portal. Starts his career at Ohio, plays hard,
ends up at Florida, wins the national title, top twenty
draft pick.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
You gotta love that.
Speaker 5 (17:07):
Love his whole story, and I'm so glad he's got
a chance because he's he's got the type of game
that could succeed me in the NBA. So good luck
to him.
Speaker 6 (17:14):
He was with Patino and Iona. Yeah, yeah, he was
from Golden NBA.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Two Illinois players went back to back, Yakachonas and Will Riley.
How about that? Yeah, and we beat them in the tournament.
When I watched them go back to back, I was like, yeah,
you may have gone back to back, but who took
the l in Milwaukee? And it was Illinois.
Speaker 6 (17:33):
And at that point of the night, it felt like
every pick had been from another country or Kentucky played
them last year, because it felt like I think there
were maybe six or seven in the top twenty that
Pope and Kentucky played a year ago, including those two
beat him.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Does it make you feel old that Jason Richardson's kids
got got picked. I thought Jason Richardson was like, I
thought he'd only been around for eight or ten years,
and now he gets picked. That's kind of wild to
do those now, even with Dylan Harper, remember watching Ron Harper.
So it's at that point we all are where it's like,
oh no, it's his second generation is coming to the league.
Brooklyn had five first round picks, five and used them all.
Speaker 4 (18:07):
They're gonna have the youngest team in the world.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
They picked a guy from Israel and then a guy
from Yale back to back, basically Brooklyn trying to make
their mirror the community they're in.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
Uh, what did you What do you think about Danny Wolfe?
As you be careful of Danny Wolfe's.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
Right, there was a lot of crime and I'm but
Danny Wolfe's brother cried a lot. Now I think it's sweet,
don't get me wrong, but I feel bad for Danny
Wolfe's brother. Did you see, Shannon, did you see the
meme that's coming Like from now on, when somebody's happy
or because of something that happens, they're gonna show poor
Danny Wolf's brother. I mean he was crying, like he
(18:51):
was crying as much as anyone has ever cried at anything.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
I mean it was is have you ever seen a
person out of happiness cried more than that.
Speaker 6 (18:59):
No, he probably needed to dismiss himself, get some oxygen
and get that together. Nothing wrong with crying in public
are on TV. But he was becoming the story in
the middle of that moment.
Speaker 5 (19:08):
There's something about it. When it's your brother, though, Man,
you feel so proud to be that your that's your
kid brother out there and he's gonna be a millionaire
in the NBA. I can see why he got upset.
Speaker 4 (19:17):
He was gasping for I mean, that was that was excessive.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
That was happy cried Like can I just say, like
Walter Clayton Junior when he cried, I thought, you know,
I feel that, I feel for him, I feel happy
for him.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
But the kid from the South Sudan, Yeah, that was
I thought, really, really.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
Danny Wolf's brother, She's get calm down a little bit.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
I mean, it was just it was a lot of crime.
It was.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
It was it was kind of you know, like you
go to a funeral and there's somebody who's not even
that close to the family that is just absolutely weeping,
and you're like, okay, thank you, but like you can,
I can't cry more than the wife and the children
of the people. Like you've got to bring it down
a notch. I thought, Danny's Bull's brother just need to
bring it down just a notch.
Speaker 5 (20:08):
Maybe that's why, you know, all those games and the
pick up the pickup games in the driveway and shooting
around in the backyard. Maybe that's what just kind of
all caught up to me that moment.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
Well, I guess all right, so then let's go to tonight.
Kobe Brea. I talked to Sam Vicini, who's one of
the big NBA draft gurus. I said, is Kobe Gebraya
gonna get picked tonight? He said most likely. He said
there's like eight different teams that have him fifth or
sixth on their board, so he felt like one of
(20:38):
them would.
Speaker 4 (20:39):
End up getting it.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
But he said there were some teams that don't have
him on their board at all because of his defense.
Speaker 4 (20:44):
So do you think you think he ends up going?
I think he gets picked.
Speaker 6 (20:47):
I have not had any I can't name dropping the
analyst that I've talked to. Sorry, Jonathan given he didn't
pick up my call.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
Remember Jonathan Giving? He like, are you talking? You're talking
about a guy we remember when he was like eighteen
years old, started his own memory, started a fight with
us one time.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
Do you remember that. I remember the KSR archives.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
There's a Jonathan Giveny Drew Franklin war work.
Speaker 6 (21:10):
No wonder he didn't answer, you don't know. I don't, Uh, yeah,
I know. I'm just gonna to the original point about
Kobe Brera and my bee forgiven me. I've only been
reading mock drafts like most people, but a lot of
them having pretty high ends.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
See where Kobe Bray goes.
Speaker 5 (21:23):
I didn't watch one second last night, but I'll watch
it tonight because of that.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
That was why you weren't commenting much.
Speaker 5 (21:28):
You didn't see any of that, not one second.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
So you don't even consider that.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
A sports radio show that's predominantly college basketball.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
You might want to watch the draft.
Speaker 5 (21:38):
Nope, I can catch up with online.
Speaker 4 (21:40):
I can't catch up. You didn't see Danny Wolf's brother crime.
How much of what we talked about? You know, he
didn't even see Trey Johnson suit. The suit you commented
looked good. You didn't even see it.
Speaker 5 (21:51):
I'm sure I've.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
Watched the draft or catch up before the show.
Speaker 5 (21:56):
Easy not watch the draft. I had no interest. I
watched tonight because of Kobe Braya. That's it.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
So like if you missed the draft like a little show.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
I mean, like confidently yeah about all of this.
Speaker 6 (22:08):
And he didn't watch any remember KSR as Ryan learns
the news.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
That is unbelievable.
Speaker 5 (22:13):
Good to know that he had a good suit on.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
What music is playing? Oh it's my phone? Never mind,
we will take break.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
This is Kentucky Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (22:24):
TJ.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
Smith personal injury attorney, called tj He'll make them pay.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Here's Matt Jones.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
Welcome back, Tucky Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
We are on our Kentucky Office Highway Safety Ks Safe
Summer Driving Tour. We are at the Little Crooked Creek
Safari in Shelby County, which is very very cool, little
place up here. Well, I say, up here, back here
and off the back roads in the corner of three
different counties. Nice folks for having this. Got a little
(22:56):
crowd of eight to ten people here. I always that's
the perfect I was just saying, when you get this much,
it feels like you're talking to people, but you're not
like having to singing, dance.
Speaker 5 (23:05):
Yeah, and Eric saitting on the weekend, I think you
can get up to the five hundred six hundred people that
can you get.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
Five hundred people up here? Good night?
Speaker 3 (23:11):
Where do they park in the front yard? All right,
Well that's good, one person writes Matt. I enjoyed watching
the Draft, but I will say ESPN has the worst
broadcasts in history, truth worst worst. I mean, I tried
(23:34):
the stephen A one way too much yelling. Then I
went to the Billis and Kendrick one. I don't think
Kendrick Perkins had ever seen one of these dudes play
before last night. He made the most generic comments like, well,
you know he's six', eight which means he's, tall like
comments like. That at Least billis knew what was going.
On why can't they just get people who know who
(23:54):
these players?
Speaker 6 (23:55):
Are was It perkins who's made The cooper flag comparison
and instead it's like If Anthony davison Canc garnette had a.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
BABY i think that was his.
Speaker 6 (24:02):
ADDITION i watched THE espn one for Most, YEAH i
WATCHED espn ninety five percent of the. NIGHT i was
around like pick eleven or. TWELVE i switched TO abc
and somebody had just been selected if Steven a was
yelling so.
Speaker 4 (24:15):
LOUD i left it on for like twenty. SECONDS i was, like,
WELL i guess back to the other.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Minch there's too much Steven, a too much Stephen, A LIKE, I,
i you, know hopefully MY espn people aren't, listening but
there's too much Steven, A like they're way too.
Speaker 4 (24:27):
Much he's. Oversaturating he doesn't.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
Know it's clear he didn't know anything about these, guys
either just give him a week.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
Off it's. Okay he does not need to yell all the.
Time they have The WARRIORS gm up. There let him
talk a little bit.
Speaker 5 (24:39):
More they put him on every single, show every single.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Day but who is that, For, like who is sitting
there SAYING i Need Stephen a at this moment in the?
Speaker 4 (24:49):
Draft like the, draft their draft is college.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
Basketball there you literally have people whose entire job is college.
Basketball billis's. Good THE gm makes sense because he was A.
Gm why do they have to Have STEVEN.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
A i don't.
Speaker 6 (25:06):
Know I'm i'm hoping at least with THE nba, coverage
especially things like The, finals that this we've seen the
last of.
Speaker 4 (25:11):
Them BUT i don't think that's gonna be the. Case.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Yeah, well, otherwise enjoyed the night and it'll be interesting
to see where our guys go end up Going todayt's
some more college basketball. News this is kind of oddly sports.
Heavy THE ncaa announced yesterday two. Things Number, one they're
going to thirty two games starting next, year so not
this year but next, year which means basically one more
(25:34):
game in the. Season on, PAPER i, MEAN i love
it on. Paper in theory could allow you to play
another good. TEAM i kind of think most teams will
just do another home game that makes some. Money this,
Is i'm sure a revenue. PLAY i was talking to
somebody yesterday privately who said by twenty thirty, one they
think it'll go up to thirty five, games WHICH i
(25:54):
THINK i would like even.
Speaker 4 (25:55):
More but one more? Game you happy about?
Speaker 5 (25:58):
THAT i love, it of, course you. Know being college basketball,
GUY i want more. Games and the, coach Coach pope
just said that in the last couple of weeks he
wants to go to thirty five thirty six.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
Games, ANYWAY i think he wanted to go to. FORTY
i don't think that's gonna, happen BUT i think.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
They'll probably add a game every two years till you
get to thirty four or thirty.
Speaker 6 (26:14):
Five, Oh kentucky uses this Like pope, says he was
willing add a really good home at, home like In.
Kansas you, know we Have duke And carolina and the ACC.
Sec hopefully we'll be get them on a, rotation but
maybe A. Yukon i'd like to get in a good
traditional home at, home going back and forth in a
real college.
Speaker 4 (26:30):
Arena, again they're gonna.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
Start they're gonna decide next week whether to expand the.
Tournament they're contemplating going to seventy. Six so from sixty
eight to seventy, six that would be eight more. TEAMS i,
mean it's not the end of the, world BUT i
don't like. IT i, MEAN i could be talked in
to four. More get you to seventy, two because Then
(26:53):
tuesday And wednesday you could have four. Games you could
have games all. Day so basically you'd Get, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
Friday saturday of all, games basically six. Games you start
to add more than, that they're gonna be playing at
the same, time it's gonna be it's it's too many
and they don't need, it but they're probably gonna do.
Speaker 4 (27:12):
It it's too.
Speaker 6 (27:14):
Many i'll, Admit i'll enjoy a noon game on A
monday THAT i can gamble, on even though it's Gonna
Mississippi state Versus Boston college or. Something BUT i just
kind of hate how it used to matter making the. Tournament,
now any team that's done anything is to get the.
Tournament it used to be when you're judging a coach
or how season will, win it was a big. Deal
just to be in the field of sixty. Four it's
gotten a little stale on that and just being in the.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
Field the counter to that, IS i think if you're
in a big conference and you don't make the, tournament,
now you're just gonna get, fired like like you have
no excuse now not to make the tournament if you're
at a big, conference like you have.
Speaker 5 (27:47):
To whether we like it or. Not the expansion's. Coming
i'd like to go onto seventy two and doing all
the games In. Dayton just make it one week of
games and. DATING i think that would add a little more.
TOO i wonder if they may still do. That they
may still do.
Speaker 4 (27:59):
IT i don't.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
KNOW i don't know exactly how you would do. IT
i don't know if you can play six games in
one day or. Whatever BUT i still think if you're
gonna play all those, Games dayton is the WAY i
agree to, it because if you try.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
To do it anywhere, else no one's gonna.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
Go like if you already established there.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
In, dayton it's kind of like O maha in The
College World, series like they'll come no matter who's. Playing
so it's and you get a good, atmosphere even if
It's Alabama state Versus Long. Island you still get a
good atmosphere because everybody come Sure date would love to
Expand dayton would take as many as they. Can that
might be an issue if you started adding too many
Of dayton's able to host all of. It BUT i
(28:35):
agree that it should say In dayton as long as it.
Can if it goes to seventy six will will we
ever miss the?
Speaker 5 (28:41):
Tournament we shouldn't ever miss the tournament they go to
seventy six.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
GAMES i mean the REASON i say that is in twenty,
thirteen if it was seventy, six we would have made the.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
Tournament, now THE covid year we probably still wouldn't have made.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
It made the, tournament so that would have been a
year we actually wouldn't have made it either. Way but
do you think let me just let's just throw it out,
there go to seventy six?
Speaker 4 (29:02):
Teams do we miss the tournament in the next?
Speaker 3 (29:04):
Decade, Wow we've only missed the tournament in the modern
era like three, times, right we missed it the or
four times we missed it the probation. Year, yeah and
then we missed it in THE covid year and in twenty.
Speaker 6 (29:21):
Thirteen in twenty, thirteen took an injury to one of
the best players in the.
Speaker 4 (29:24):
Country. Uh, NAH i think they'll make it every.
Speaker 6 (29:28):
Year or, honestly if you can't make it at seventy,
six whoever the coach, IS i don't care It's Mark,
pope just don't come back to your.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
Office, Really.
Speaker 6 (29:37):
Entucky cannot make a tournament with seventy six, teams then,
yes that's.
Speaker 5 (29:42):
Inexcusable, Wow mark not Let kentucky miss the.
Speaker 4 (29:46):
Tournament he.
Speaker 6 (29:47):
Won't, Yeah i'm assuming the I ow budget's still in good.
Shape we're kind of in the status we are. Now
there's no Reason kentucky should not make a field of
seventy six.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
One person, Rights, Matt i'm officially offended At. Ryan you,
know the guy called yesterday and Said shannon was his
favorite person on the. Show i've always Argued ryan was my.
Favorite he's now no longer my. Favorite you're on the
biggest show in the. State you have to watch the.
Draft NO i.
Speaker 5 (30:12):
DON'T i don't have to watch the.
Speaker 4 (30:13):
Draft NO i.
Speaker 5 (30:13):
Don't, yeah it wasn't One kentucky guy got drafted first
time in the first.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
Time i'm gonna say this with. Love you needed to
have watched.
Speaker 5 (30:22):
It you need to watch the.
Speaker 6 (30:22):
Draft what about a catch up in the morning before
the show to see The.
Speaker 5 (30:26):
That's WHAT i viral moments, EASY i Asked mario in the. Car,
here tell me who got drafted last.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
Night he's gonna get the show prep. Talk you're gonna
get the show prep talk when this is. Over you
watch the.
Speaker 3 (30:36):
Draft were there are only a handful of moments that
you have to. Watch this is one of the things
you have to. Do you have to watch the. Draft
that's not that's a show prep. Thing SO, i even
Though i'm not angry about, it he is exactly. Right
you should watch the. Draft that's part of that's part
of this. Job at least check in with.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
It.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
Right, yeah Sometimes i'm miss big, events BUT i will
cram the morning after before the.
Speaker 4 (31:00):
Show should he watch the? Draft should? Have? Yeah should
have watched the. Draft who's up, Next? Joseph, joseph go, Ahead.
Speaker 7 (31:07):
Joseph, Hey, MATT i appreciate you taking my.
Speaker 8 (31:12):
Call y'all were talking last week real. FAST i have
a football.
Speaker 7 (31:17):
Question but y'all were talking last week about like That
Steve smith's talking about the crime In memphis was real
bad or. Whatever, yes you, know the highest murder rate
In america is Actually Cabot cove's main you, know.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
The little town that's what Murder she.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
Wrote, yeah they did have a lot of murders in
that town for the population and only one old way
to solve.
Speaker 8 (31:41):
THEM i think they said something like two percent of
the population that little town got murdered or.
Speaker 4 (31:47):
Something but that is.
Speaker 8 (31:49):
Bad so, uh JUST i HAD i had a football
QUESTION i haven't been able to call in a couple of.
Weeks just talk About Mark, stoops you, know with his
buyout the way it, IS i think we kind of,
having whether we want it or, not for the next
probably at least two or three. Years you are you
(32:09):
inclined to agree with?
Speaker 3 (32:10):
That, well, okay so it kind of gets back to the,
cowpoint which, is, YES i do agree with you that on,
paper as a financial, decision there is no if we,
win no matter what, Happens Mark stoops as a financial
decision almost has to come. Back but there's also the practical,
(32:33):
matter which, is let's say we go four and eight
and you get that last home, game which isn't it
against Like Tennessee tech or.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
Something that last home.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
Game let's say you have the last home game and
there are six thousand people at the, game which is not.
Crazy if the team has been a, DISASTER i don't
know how this fan base would accept bringing it. Back
now there's the Financial this was the same thing though With.
Cal remember we forget. This they decided to Bring cal.
(33:05):
Back he ended up, leaving but they did decide to
bring him. Back so you, Know joseph may be. Right
there may not be a financial way to make a
separation when it's.
Speaker 4 (33:16):
Over but there.
Speaker 3 (33:17):
Comes a point sometimes that things can get so toxic
nobody really.
Speaker 4 (33:21):
Wants to be in.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
Them So i'm hoping we don't get to this. Point
i'm hoping we don't have to have this conversation In.
November but a lot of things have worked with the
schedule to where you can foresee it. Happening that last
home game being against nobody could be a. Disaster and
Then louisville in the final, game A louisville team that
(33:44):
might be, good that Has Vince marrow on the sideline
Throwing l's up like that could be about as worse
an option as you could.
Speaker 6 (33:51):
Get, yeah we all Know mitch is not quick to fire,
Anyone AND i Think mitch won't want to fire a
mark at. All but if you get to a point
where you're not making any, money there's a number there
where you just got to eat the buy out because
you got to get some revenue and some excitement. Back
if games Like Tennessee tech At home are not making
you anything and then you're still, losing could be losing
more than you would have lost just paying him to break.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
Up, Yeah, hey nothing says summer like long, days clutch
plays and the firing off of a few bets for the.
Game you know it's hot. Outside look at these folks
sitting in the. Sun you guys are very, Nice LIKE

Speaker 3 (34:59):
Ksr welcome. Back it Is Kentucky Sports RADIO. Ef i'm
nine two eight oh twenty two eighty. Seven give us a.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
Shout we missed the tournament more THAN i. Realized what
are some other? Years we missed three straight?
Speaker 3 (35:12):
Years we missed the year we were on, probation Then
patino's first two, years or the year before we went on,
probation then the two years of, Probation so we missed eighty,
nine ninety ninety, one and THEN i forgot we Missed
billy's second.
Speaker 5 (35:24):
Year oh, yeah oh.
Speaker 4 (35:26):
Yeah but we.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
Would have made it that year too if it was seventy.
Six so that's also an interesting. Thing if it went
to seventy, six Would Billy gillespie have still been the?
Speaker 4 (35:33):
Coach would he still be here? Now now he'd have
lost it before. Then but that is an interesting.
Speaker 3 (35:39):
Question If billy makes the tournament that, year how do
you fire maybe he gets another. Year.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
Yep you know that's why this.
Speaker 6 (35:45):
Stinks there'll be a lot of coaches in that situation
where they need to, go but they made the, field
so they'll get to stick.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
Around, yeah If i'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty,
seven couple open LINES i got to talk about to.
Me the weirdest piece of News Connor, joe who who
is not a good baseball, player but he's on The.
Reds he you, know he does some things that are,
okay but he's not very good at the. Baseball but
he was put on the injured list. Yesterday and you,
(36:11):
know usually they'll put on the injured, list they'll be
like stranger, growing pulled your hamstring. Whatever sometimes you'll see
injured list, illness which you know is probably like they're
just sick and so they need some. Time The reds
put it out and Said Connor joe fifteen day disabled,
list hand foot and mouth.
Speaker 4 (36:32):
Disease first of, ALL i didn't know that was a.
Speaker 3 (36:39):
THING i, Mean i've heard of, it BUT i thought
that was something you got, in like if you visited
like The philippines or, something and you had to get
like a shot for, It LIKE i didn't. KNOW i
didn't know that was a thing you just. Got apparently
children get, it had no idea.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
Maybe going to a, daycare not The. PHILIPPINES i didn't know.
Speaker 3 (36:59):
That, SECONDLY i didn't know that if you if you got, it,
like it's worse when adults get.
Speaker 4 (37:05):
It and THEN i saw pictures of. It it looks.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
Awful my thought was THIS a didn't realize the prevalence
of handfoot and mouth.
Speaker 4 (37:13):
DISEASE B i.
Speaker 3 (37:15):
Don't feel like The reds needed to call him out like.
That because it went, viral everybody was, like what is
this The Oregon trail handfoot and mouth? Disease and so
now everybody Knows Connor joe has from WHAT i read
of handfoot mouth that it gets on your, hands your,
foot inside your throat and sometimes and this is, gross
but this is WHAT i, read like the crevice on your.
(37:38):
BACKSIDE i don't need to know that About Connor. JOE
i don't need to know that he may have like butt,
pimples and SO i FEEL i feel bad for him
that they.
Speaker 4 (37:49):
Had to release that level of.
Speaker 6 (37:50):
Detail i'm not an, expert but maybe illness would have
been Find Connor joe out illness and everyone.
Speaker 4 (37:55):
Has just moved on with their. Lives he's not a
good enough.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
Player but from now every time he comes to, Bat
i'm gonna be, like, oh there's old hand foot and.
Speaker 6 (38:03):
Mouth now when he comes, back everyone's gonna be afraid
to touch his hand or his foot or his.
Speaker 4 (38:07):
Mouth like if it Was Ellie Da La. Cruz he's so,
good we'd.
Speaker 3 (38:11):
Forget but from now, On Shannon, Connor joe is hand
foot and mouth disease.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
Guy from now, on.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
Legacy AND i think The reds did him. Wrong i'm
gonna be honest with.
Speaker 5 (38:21):
YOU i think they did he wrong. Too i've heard of,
it BUT i don't know one person who's ever had.
It but, now can you imagine in the locker room
he comes walk in the locker, room it's gonna be
like The Red sea. Parton nobody wants to get around. Him,
yeah like.
Speaker 2 (38:31):
People they could, said you, know he has a sore,
throat he's gonna be up for a few.
Speaker 4 (38:34):
Days, yeah or maybe one of the. Three he has
hand disease and all of. IT i don't. Know, yeah that's.
True hand disease would be.
Speaker 3 (38:43):
Weird, also if you said mouth the.
Speaker 4 (38:47):
Mouth, disease there maybe maybe foot.
Speaker 5 (38:50):
Disease how long does one out when they get HANDED
i know people have had, it it was not what
happens when they got it from.
Speaker 4 (38:57):
KIDS i feel like you have to like go building
blocks in a daycare to get. It get.
Speaker 3 (39:03):
IT i heard somebody tell me like you can get
literally like itchy sores inside your. Throat i've heard that
it is an absolutely miserable. Experience anybody here you ever had? It,
europia we have an.
Speaker 4 (39:18):
Expert you had two cases, yesterday so it's. It so it's.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
Spreading, WELL i didn't know anything about, it SO i
tweeted out something like that's, crazy and then the text
machine all night was just people telling me about their,
hand foot and mouth, disease which you, KNOW i was
